High Life Smoke Shop Shelby

Between Sexual Harassment issues not being resolved, poor staff, high turnover rate, and bad management. I have to say I will not recommend this store. High Life started out great, and they have an amazing selection. But the interactions with people and connections made are what really sell that product. Unfortunately that just isnt a priority here.

I have been to a few different high life smoke shops in my life. I can honestly say though the most consistent one I keep going back to is shelby. You wont find a better group of employees and people that care about their customers and arent just there to sell you stuff but to find out what best suites your needs and budget for them to sell you. They are all top notch people and Im proud to see that there are ones still there from when I first started going to high life in shelby. Its not always about what store has the coolest pieces or anything like that its about the way you are treated by people that makes the difference for me.

They have the most helpful staff in this store. As we all know, buying from smoke shops can be nerve-wracking. This place feels like home, from the first time I went in to visit until now, three years later. My only suggestion for this store to improve is to get some higher quality products.

Great service and great help! I even discussed some of the negative reviews with the bearded man behind the counter but prior to that he asked if I wanted to try everything before I left, over all great attitude and super informative!

Went by Monday to check out the CBD oil for pets. Spent $25 on a 600mg bottle. Opened it this Wednesday to put it in her wet food. She snubbed it. Put a couple drops on her dry food, walked off. The employee that rang my purchase up didnt give me a receipt. Took it back today for a refund and the young kid said they dont do refunds. Came out to my car and told me that by management they will not refund my purchase. I guess thats what I get for checking out someplace new. I will not be a return customer.

Dustin and Shelby are amazing associates and very knowledgeable. I wish there was a better variety of the Not Ya Sons, I buy all the berries and cream every time I go in! lol

Staff is always nice and helpful. They have the best prices in town. Tank was very helpful.

First off, I hardly EVER leave reviews, but this shop deserves one. The employees here are always so polite and are eager to help in anyway they can. I feel their products are better quality and I have pretty much stopped going to any other store since finding this spot!

So I mainly shop here to get things for my wife, but let me tell you the usual employee that are there when I go in Charlie is deserving of 6 stars themselves. He is Uber friendly and super helpful for a clueless husband like myself. My wife has love every recommendation he has given me and are greatly informative on what’s the most efficient deal. I appreciate Charlie and they are the reason I only visit high life.

Not from the area and so i didnt know what to expect, went in and was helped greatly by Travis and JD to find something that Id enjoy. Both had good knowledge of the different brands and overall great guys to talk with as I was deciding what to get.

Big selection of products. Never running out of options here. Only place i buy my Delta Products. Every time I have been to the store the staff has been super helpful, guy there named Mason even remembers what my usual purchase is. Most days he has what i need at the counter before i even get in the building.

This shop is great! Staff is always knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. Specifically, Mason regularly keeps me up to date with new product each time I visit. Definitely would recommend!

Travis is the best! Ask for him anytime! He was excellent and helped me find exactly what I was looking for! Very professional, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Staff is semi knowledgeable about some of the products but when they dont know they act like they do. I have been to this location many times and feel that the inventory could be better on salt nic but the prices are good compared to the rest of the places in the area. Personally I think that if the staff dose not know about a product they should say that and let you make your own decision. Everytime I go in there is a staff member standing in front of me making it difficult to take my time and look at whats available, Im sure there are customers that like this I just like to be left alone to look at what they stock and make my choice without someone talking to me asking me 100 questions.

This place is one of the better shops Ive been to! Customer service is the best, Justin was very helpful in answering my questions and making me feel very welcomed at the store! 10/10!

Austin and Michael were SO sweet and helpful and informed! I had NO idea what I wanted and the fact the ENTIRE selection was so affordable yet wide and beautiful made the decision even HARDER! But the two lovely gentlemen helped me and my boyfriend with nothing but smiles, laughs and patience :) we loved them and the experiences and all of our new pieces! 10000000/10 recommend to you or anyone else you know :) will be back!!

I definitely had a great experience at this location! By far one of the best experiences I’ve ever had anywhere! The man that checked me out, I think he said his name was Austin , he was so sweet and helpful, and did I mention hilarious?? I’ll definitely visit here more often!

This is a great little shop. Tons of great pipes and accessories and their staff is super helpful. Justin waited on us and this guy really knew his products!

This is a very clean and well maintained establishment. All the staff are very helpful, especially these two named Shelby and Mason. They knew their stuff and helped me find the stuff I was looking for.

If you are 100 years old and a customer that comes in twice weekly they will still ask for your ID every time so don’t forget it if you plan on buying! Also the guy with the long beard is rude !!

Very helpful and friendly staff. Great products and selection. Ive never left a High Life shop feeling like I had to settle for something. Its really the people that make this place so good though. The employees are always awesome. Absolutely no reason to even think about going anywhere else.

I had a horrible experience here of being given a coil that I couldnt fit into my vape. Went back to exchange in which was told they couldnt exchange because the coils had juice on them because I had tried them in my vape. Finally so called manager called someone and exchanged for me but still had to pay a few extra dollars. Got home and still couldnt fit in my vape so had to make another trip back. Finally a young man and another young lady was able to help. As soon as the manager saw me coming in the door, the manager elected to give me a dirty look and took off into the back of the store. I have given my business here since moving to the area, but due to rudeness of the manager, not sure if I would go back.

Ive been in a couple times but the dude with the long hair and beard is a complete jerk. Always has an attitude and seems rushed to get you out of the store. I have literally just taken my business to the Asheville store where the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Not to mention they have far more product to offer.

Very friendly and respectful. I love the way theyll pull everything out and show all the pieces to you, let you hold them, and compare them before you make up your mind. Pretty much a zero return policy on most everything, so be sure you really want what you pick out cuz you cant exchange it or even return it at all. That goes with all smoke shops though.

Very helpful sales clerks. Both, the gentleman, and the young lady were very informed and guided me to the vast collection of tobacco related pipes and also to my other needs with other items. I felt very comfortable and noticed many items that I had purchased elsewhere for a lot less. They have a large collection 5 glass item.

I made a $130 purchase with help from the staff. The employee sold me a cartridge that was incompatible with my pen. When I called the store they said all sales are final once you walk out the door. I could understand if it was my mistake. I will not shop here again. I dont want to open every purchase I make to check compatibility. The staff should know what they are selling or make it clear if they are unaware.

This smoke shop does not stand behind their products. They are selling defective items and expecting the customer to return to the manufacturer saying they don’t get credit if they have to return it. Which is a flat out lie!!! They will not help rectify the situation just turn u away!!! We had purchased an item in Sunday night it was defective and wouldn’t work. Went back first thing Monday morning and they would not help even though the item was clearly defective by no fault of ours! We then went to a competitor and they spent time to help with the item. We have spent a lot of money with Highlife and we will never return. We DO NOT recommend them!!!

Went to buy a battery for my pen. Got one and figured it just needed charging. After charging it all night it still wouldnt turn on. Called about just exchanging it for another one and they would not stand behind their product because I didnt have a receipt for a $10 item. If this is the customer service they offer I would rather pay a little higher price. They just lost themselves a potentially good customer. Service like this and they will be shut down before you know it.

High Life was amazing! Makayla (spelling?) was especially great, my vape was broken and I knew nothing about any of it and she set me up with the perfect thing to help me kick smoking! The rest of the employees also helped in every way, I really appreciate High Life!

Store is fine for fluids but beware of buying tanks at this location as they sell defective tanks then try to pass it off as damage caused by the customer. Best of luck to your business I will continue shopping online and continue to feed the mechine that is killing sad businesss like yours.

We don’t live in Shelby, we’re from Hickory, but we stopped in High Life on a whim today after visiting family in the area. We aren’t super familiar with vapes, but we’ve been looking into them recently. Taylor was super helpful and was able to answer any and all questions we had about the different products available. We appreciated that he was informative and knowledge on the products they had without being pushy like a shop or two we tried previously. I liked that Taylor was able to walk us through unboxing our products and give us a run down on how to use them, how to get the most out of the battery, as well as how to maintain them with cleaning. John also stopped over to give us a few pointers after we made our purchase which was also appreciated. Taylor listened to what we wanted and catered his recommendations to what would fit our individual needs the most!We will definitely stop back through when we come through the Shelby area! I would love to see an online store in the future so we could order directly from them again.Experienced or not, if you’re looking for vapes, vape products, or tobacco accessories, I definitely recommend this shop!

Ive been buying my eliquids online for years but hate to wait for the post office to deliver so I decided to go to the only shop open on a Sunday. Never been in a shop before. Great experience! Staff knew exactly what I was looking for. And the price was fantastic! Yall got a customer for life!

High-life is a great place to buy vapes, vape accessories, juices, water-pipes, pipes, and anything else you could possibly need. The staff are helpful and the store is clean. My favorite thing about the store is their massive selection. Anyway, Taylor was super helpful when I came in to stock up on juice. Couldnt decided between fruit or desserts. He suggested Mad ManCrazy Orange. Taste great dude; thanks a ton.

They have a good selection of products, however their customer service has fallen off a cliff recently. I walk in and have to wait for the employees to finish their conversation before I am helped. Constant swearing and crude remarks. Im no prude, but this is supposed to be a place of business. I reccomend blow vapor for friendlier and more helpful staff.

I absolutely love this place oh, the prices are great, the people are wonderful. Theres only one thing that really seem to bother me a little bit. I recently broke the glass on the tank of my vape and I need a replacement glass I had a wonderful young woman with brown hair that help me. There was two things that bothers me about the whole situation. First off, the way she tried to measure the glass to see if it would fit kind of seem strange and she put the top of the glass tank on the actual mod and said thatll work just fine + 2 I recommended that I like Fruity or candy flavored juices and I was wondering if they had a special on anyting. She recommended a raspberry jam toast juice ( in my mind I thought sounded disgusting ) she insisted that I really try this flavor, as I was reading on the box they had different flavors and Im a fan of Apple. I asked about Apple flavor and she said that she was out of that but she had a lemon flavor that taste like lemon meringue pie. I went ahead and look at it and it was lemon toast. She kept pushing and pushing that I was not going to take the toast flavor in this Vape. I liked her Enthusiasm so I went ahead and gave her a chance. everything went good after that, until I got into the car and went ahead and tested the glass to make sure fit. At first it started leaking and then I was starting to panic but I went ahead and put new seals on my tank, and that fix the problem. But not the biggest problem. The Vape tasted like bread crumbs that you would pull out of a 10-year old toaster that nobody ever cleaned out. The bread taste is awful oh, and I wouldnt wish this Vape upon Hitler. Now, Im not going to let one experience will win the many other times of great experiences here. But for the love of God do not get that toast Vape. I would rather smoke toilet paper than the Vape juice but I have purchase today

Nice people and good products. However, I bought a disposable vape yesterday, opened it in the store and tested but then it died within an hour of me leaving. Went back today to see if they would replace it and I was denied. Ive probably spent $100+ there in the last month or less but if $14 is that important to them then losing a regular customer must not be something they care about. I wont be buying from HL anymore, especially when I can get 5 of the Hyppe bars for less than $30 online.

We went on Thursday and bought an item and by Sunday it was not working. Was told to call the manufacturer that it was not their problem. Then unknowingly my son went in there later the same day and by that same night his product was malfunctioning. So now we have worthless products. NEVER will I go back.

Whoever does ordering for inventory sux. Seems like every time they get a good product that sells well, they stop ordering it when they run out. Maybe the staff needs to start ordering. Tired of having to settle for something else, or go home empty.

Brittany was very rude, and would not tell me the product name. She hung up when I asked how soon a product would work and said she was new and that she cant disclose information over the phone, like she is a spy and this is top secret.

I was there a whole 5 mins.. some nice gentleman pointed me in the direction of my needs and I was out lickety split..

Purchased 2 new coil for a new pod system that I had recently purchased there also. When I replaced the coil 1 of the 2 new coils was bad. It would not even register on the mod. I call the store the same day and was told by an employee to bring it back and it would be replaced. When I came back 2 days later I was told that because it had been opened it could not be replaced. How am I supposed to know its bad without opening it and trying to use it? I wont be returning. Its $5, you lost all my future business over a $5 coil.

Will sell you a faulty product exchange it with another faulty product that they assure you will work when charged just to end up screwing your out of $40 which is already overpriced for a Disposable cart. Shop literally anywhere else.

I get suspicious looks from the staff when I walk in. Guess being 62 & walking with a cane is not thier typical customer. But Ive got a lifetime of experience with water pipes, as in bongs. They have all the fittings forhome-made pipes. Through my previous experiences I have come to prefer working with bamboo. Thier glass stems and bowles are perfect for my new bongs. Superb Corning Glass with lab grade ground fittings. Just wish they wouldnt treat me like an old man who wandered into the wrong store. Cheers, Jim

This is not a vape shop (says smoke shop in the name of course). They claim to be the largest seller of liquids on their billboards. They are more similar to a head shop (selling tobacco, pipes, etc). Far from the largest with a small selection of liquids. Liquids are often not stocked adequately and they like to stop selling brands and changing. They also sell re-wrapped batteries with very dangerous rating claims. We cant support anyone that does this. Buy authentic Sony, LG, etc batteries that are not re-wrapped and use the correct ratings. There is no such thing as an over 30A 18650. No one makes them. They dont exist. Please educate yourself. Search for Moochs professional battery tests. Widely accepted by the community as an authority on this subject.

Best vape shop in Cleveland County. Super friendly staff that will help you the best they can. Cheapest ejuice around. I got a 60mL premium for 12 bucks plus tax. The staff is very knowledgeable about what coil fits what device. They also happen to have a wide array of e cigs....everything from mechanical mods to pod ststems. This will be my one stop vape shop from now on. Other shops should mimic this shop to learn success.

Nobody knew what kind of coils I needed for my vape and or how to build or rebuild a coil which is fine, if there was a smiling face in the building ugh... why so grumpy ugh. Negative vibe no good

Return policy is BS. Bought something with a debit card, declined a receipt after I was asked, left for 15 minutes and figured out I got the wrong product, went to return it, literally 15 minutes later, my receipt was the first on the spike, unused item with paper tag still on it, would not return or let me at least trade. Ill never go into a high Life again. Go support your local Indian or Pakistani head shops.
