Massage Envy

Hayley was completely rude and unprofessional to deal with. Buyer beware if you sign up with a package or membership here! I came for six months of prenatal sessions, was walked through scheduling in person by a staff member to make sure everything was taken care of and booked properly, and then ended up randomly told that I needed to pay out-of-pocket after my session today. I explained to her politely that everything is prepaid for and this doesnt make any sense, to which she effectively told me that I should understand the math and its my problem and not theirs even though she can see in the system who helped me and that they were the ones to book me when all I asked for was to book the sessions I paid for. Why would I book more sessions than were in my package? It literally makes no sense. She refused to be accountable and was not remotely apologetic. Not the kind of experience anyone should be paying a premium for, especially not nine months pregnant. On top of all of this, I now didnt have the opportunity to properly space out my sessions until giving birth, which was the entire purpose of me being a customer here in the first place, and why I personally asked for professional assistance with the booking process, all to be treated this way and stuck footing a bill and having no care for the last month of my pregnancy.I will NEVER be back and am appalled at the customer service here. Thought I would give them a chance due to proximity of where I live, but now I see why everyone I know avoids this place and goes to small, local businesses or private masseuses instead. Hope the owner or manager has the opportunity to see this, as you are losing customers frequently due to the rudeness and incompetence of your desk staff. There was zero attempt made to right what happened today. It costs a lot less to retain a customer than to acquire a new one. I suppose this lesson has been lost upon Hayley, as she very clearly does not care about the customer experience or treat this business like her own in anyway whatsoever.

This was my first visit to Massage Envy. I appreciated the upfront information-gathering on my massage likes/dislikes by both the front desk and therapist. Woodner did a great job, establishing a relaxing mood and applying appropriate pressure. I especially liked that he ended the session with me on my back for a head massage—a brilliant way to help the head clear from the usual stuffiness that accompanies a massage. 5 stars!

Alex is wonderful! She explains what she is observing on my skin and gives me helpful feedback to implement in between sessions. The facial itself is always amazing and rejuvenating. Highly recommend Alex!

Germaine ticks all of the boxes for an impeccable host. not only did she relieve the tension across my body, but we also engaged in the most fruitful interaction i have had with a service provider in months. i am very thankful for her willingness to go a step beyond the basic requirements of her position and connect with guests on a personal level.

Jason was awesome for my massage. He really keyed in on the spots where I was experiencing pain and has helped in my recovery. The staff at the front desk was also very nice.

Alex did my facial as well as my son’s and it was a great experience! It was his first time getting a facial and he stated “she was awesome”! I recommend Alex to all my friends and family! She is very professional and pleasant to deal with!

I just had one of the best massages with Erik. I feel like a new person. He was attentive and ensured that I was comfortable. His techniques to really get into the muscles was wonderful. I will only go to him now.

I love my stretch and massage sessions. Germaine, Woodner, and Eric are amazing! I left from another session with Germaine feeling so much better after. The front desk is also always pleasant.

Brian asked me if I were having any issues yesterday, and I explained what was going on. He paid extra attention to that area, and the surrounding so I felt like such a better version of myself when I left.

The office located in pompano beach has had great change . George is the manager for this location he has been extremely helpful and kind when I need help with anything. I’m sure it will only get better with him on board. I also would like to give a shout out to Jamie, she has been very good to me, honest, and extremely good with what she does.

I have gotten many sessions from Kiera. She is great with the massage techniques, pressure points and balances the time so well that all areas get proper focus and relaxation . Highly recommended !!

The facials there are very better than any place i e been. The facialists are experienced , knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I use Alexandra and Alina .i always leave very fresh and rejuvenated. They are both amazing facialist technicians.

Olena is wonderful. She studies your skin, carefully analyzing to ensure you get the treatments best for your type. After an hour, you leave glowing.

I have recently joined Massage Envy, not sure what to expect but looking forward to a “good full body massage”. Out of the 3 massages I have had there so far, not one has been the same. The range of my experience ranges from pleasant to disappointing. My experience has been that each masseuse has their own technic and the adventure varies widely. My last massage was very pleasant and as different from the last 2 as can be. I am still trying to figure out how to navigate the company in order to maximize customer experience.Most recent update: 6 months later.After trying almost every therapist in the Stamford office, I have now figured out who my most compatible massage therapists are; this makes a world of difference.

I got an amazing massage from John. The pressure was nice and strong, and he somehow managed to massage me differently than I remember but it was awesome!

I highly recommend seeking Erik as a massage therapist, his healing hands and positive energy made my massage by far the best I have had in a while. He listened to what areas were in need of attention and gave just the right amount of pressure, knowing when to ease off on sore areas. Hes professional, very knowledgeable andends the treatment with a cranial sacral treatment and scalp massage that puts his skills over the top.

This was the most bizarre, disturbing massage experience of my life.DO NOT GO TO WOODNER if you are a male.He massaged me THROUGH THE SHEET the entire time, never once making contact with his hands. No massage oil, no touching, almost like he would turn to dust if he touch any part of my skin.It was so weird and uncomfortable that I spent the first 20 minutes wondering what the hell was happening, and the next 60 MINUTES trying to figure out if I should run out of the room, or resign myself to endure this strange phenomenon for a whole hour longer. (I chose to stay, and it was perhaps the worst of the two decisions, but I didnt want a confrontation. I had to mentally talk myself out of having a panic attack for the next hour.)The strangest part came later when I told my girlfriend what happened. She looked shocked and said she had the best massage with Woodner the day before!Today when I checked the reviews I was floored to find another male customer also had this SAME EXACT EXPERIENCE with Woodner. John literally described it to perfection: he massages you THROUGH the sheet, giving an incredibly terrible massage which just feels like hes poking you with his fingers, using no massage oil and no skin contact EVER. Its as if he is afraid that other people are contagious.I hate jumping to conclusions, but based on my review, Johns review, and my girlfriends completely opposite experience the day before I have no explanation except that he is sexist and doesnt want to massage men.If they continue to employ someone like this after several customer complaints, I would suggest finding another location altogether.

Jason was wonderful. He really listened to what was bothering me and was able to relieve the immediate pain and offer suggestions to prevent the pain from recurring.

This was one of the worst experiences I have have ever had. The business manager Colleen did nothing to help me. I cannot explain how disappointed I am in the situation, and how disrespected I feel. Do not get a membership! Nothing is explained and any issue you have will be ignored with a smile.

I don’t usually fill these things out, mainly because I they are not often read or taken seriously; however. I wish someone had written one for me as it would have influenced whom I was seeing, or, at the very least, initiate a discussion at the start of the massage (I own that mistake). All that being said, a very strange occurrence yesterday behooved me to write something this time…My masseur yesterday, Woodner, was a very kind, confident, professional, who ticked all the right boxes as far as what you would expect a good Masseur to be. The issue for me began when he started the massage process, using a sheet with which to massage my body through. I found it slightly odd, but figured it was just the beginning of the massage, and that it would probably help him provide deeper pressure to some areas of the body.That being said, The massage continued, and the sheet never stopped being used. I wondered if it was an issue with me? But I present as a professional with a suit, and was very polite and not talkative. I could not think of any reason where this would be anything other than a regular massage for him. Perhaps it was the fact that I was another male, and he was not comfortable massaging me? But I can’t imagine that he never massaged another male or that it would matter since he is a licensed professional. I know, personally, that in my job, I don’t not have the choice of whom I’m dealing with, but the fact remains that I still have to deal with them. I try to make the best of it, and not let the other person notice my thoughts about them.I tried to think of other reasons why he would use this “sheet”method. Like I said, maybe he was able to provide a deeper massage with the sheet, but there was one point near my neck, where he it was obviously much more difficult and impractical to use the sheet but he still continued to do so, so much so, that I actually felt like he did NOT want his finger to make contact with my neck!I don’t understand this, since he is, a very well built guy who is obviously strong enough to provide a deep tissue massage with or without a sheet. I would imagine, being as strong as he is, and capable, also being a handsome gentleman, and professional, that there was no reason why he wouldn’t have a large clientele.After the massage, I just paid my obligatory 20% tip and hightailed it out of there. I’m not sure I’ll be returning since this time was more out of convenience with location and time. I wouldn’t mind, knowing why that process was used, but all I know is, it’s not the best from me, and, I’m sure it’s not the best for other people.I am sure he had a good reason or it was a fluke occurrence. I will ask around to see if this is a common practice.FOR MASSAGE ENVY: In the meantime, I will continue with Massage Envy, hoping that they hire more people and that it is NOT SO DIFFICULT FINDING AN APPOINTMENT! (This is a hint to the company that is obviously trying to save money at the expense of its customers!). I hope that in the future I will be able to visit my regular location and group of masseurs! Toy was very knowledgeable and professional. His massage therapy was unique with remarkable results. He incorporated breathing exercises and directions were given in a soft gentle voice. After the session he recommended some stretching exercises I should use at home. I already booked my next session

Kira was wonderful! I have tried other therapists and none of them compared to her! She was so calming and accomodating. I have booked her monthly for the next 6 months to be sure I got her! Hands down best massage I have ever gotten. Highly recommend.

I’ve been a member for years. Wish I could come every week! Turnover seems to be the only issue. Therapists don’t seem to last especially the great ones.

My experience with Kira this past Sunday was nothing short of amazing. I entered Massage Envy not knowing how extremely stressed I was, and left feeling like the weight of the world was lifted from my shoulders. Kira is an excellent massage therapist. You can tell she absolutely loves what she does and cares a great deal about her clients. Kira asked me helpful questions and in turn provided me with the pressure and techniques which helped me relax even further. I throughly enjoyed my massage. Erik was great! I came in to address some pain I was having and I felt as though he listened carefully to my concerns and made adjustments throughout the appointment which made me feel really comfortable.

Erik (or known on app and such as Anthony) was an excellent Masseur! Very communicative, kind and respectful. If you are looking for a deep tissue massage, hes perfect for it!

Germaine was amazing! She found the source of my tightness and soreness in knots I didn’t know I had. Incredible!!!

Overall, just not a good experience. I’m pretty sure the air conditioning was on. I was freezing most the time. The light in the room was really bright and distracting. My masseuse definitely was miserable that he was at work. I felt zero hospitality and actually felt like an inconvenience that I was even there. His nails were long and I could feel then when he was massaging my back, which was uncomfortable. He massaged one of my feet, but not the other(he could have just not messaged them at all at that point), it seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. At the very end, he alarmingly said times up, and then dipped out the room as fast as possible. I’ve been to other massage envy’s, and the staff has always been sweet, warm, inviting. My experience at the Stanford location was the complete opposite.I’m pretty upset I spent money there.

I so was not expecting the professionalism, awesome hand work. If you desperately need a message, I recommend you ask for Eric. After the message, my soul was so happy, I couldn’t stop laughing. That’s howMuch I felt good.

Germaine is an excellent massage therapist. Together we decided on a session objective and she provided a perfect deep tissue treatment. I would rate her among the top 5 therapists I have worked with out of the about 100 therapists I have had. 👍 Great job Germaine. I feel great today🙏🏼

Had an awesome Masage today 7/13/23 by Jason. The whole experience was great from the welcome and the reccomendation of Jason , to the receptionist and Jason himsef. I explained the areas that I needed some work on and he did exactly that. The room was comfortable, had a small fan on lights were dimmed and Jason was super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

I came in for the rapid tension relief service and was very pleased. Woodner did an excellent job targeting the areas of tension I indicated. The check-in process was quick and easy. The ladies at the desk were professional and welcoming. Overall a great experience.

This location is very professional and clean! Each time I go, I really enjoy my sessions. There are many good techs here, but hands down Kira is my all time fav! I call her Kira the Magician. She has such a great spirit and her hands work wonders! She is truly concerned about the whole person and offers many great tips on how to stay healthy/maintenance after her awesome massages! You will probably have a little wait to get a session with her, but its well worth it!

I finally made the time for myself to get a massage with Kira at Massage Envy in Stamford CT. This was my very first time there and I will definitely be back. Kira was so kind and made me feel very comfortable since it was also my very first massage ever. When the massage was finished I couldnt believe how relaxed I felt. I regularly visit ME North Stamford and am always happy with my experience. Alex is a gentle and knowledgeable esthetician. She has helped improve the quality of my skin immensely. Toyo’s massages are life-altering.I recently began training heavily again after a lull and woke up yesterday practically immobilized. I was so lucky to find an appointment with Germaine. I told her my concerns and she took amazing care of me. She applied the right amount of pressure where necessary and really targeted the problem areas. I felt so much better. My only regret is that it wasn’t a 90 minute session!

During my recent visit to Massage Envy, while on a business trip, I had a disappointing encounter with their receptionist, Amaly. Her unprofessional and unwelcoming demeanor created an uncomfortable atmosphere. However, I must mention that the therapist, Toyo, stood out as a true professional and provided a positive experience amidst the disappointment.Amalys behavior as a receptionist fell short of expectations. Her lack of courtesy and dismissive attitude left a negative impression. Instead of fostering a welcoming environment, her actions made me question the quality of service at Massage Envy.On a more positive note, Toyo, the therapist I had the pleasure of receiving a massage from, was exceptional. His expertise and skill were evident, providing a truly enjoyable and relaxing experience. Toyos professionalism and positive energy were a stark contrast to the disappointing service I received from Amaly.While I had reservations about returning to Massage Envy due to Amalys behavior, Toyos excellent service leaves me hopeful for a better experience in the future. It is my sincere hope that Massage Envy addresses the concerns regarding their receptionists conduct, ensuring a consistently positive environment for all customers.In conclusion, my visit to Massage Envy was marred by the unprofessional and unwelcoming behavior of their receptionist, Amaly. However, Toyos outstanding service as a therapist provided a glimmer of positivity amidst the disappointment. I encourage the management to address the issues with their receptionist and uphold the high standard set by talented professionals like Toyo.

I had an excellent experience yesterday. I requested a deep tissue full body massage with some additional areas that needed some extra attention and Jermaine was able to deliver and release the tension that I manage to store in my muscles from standing long hours on a daily basis. Shes very personal and very knowledgeable . I would so recommend her to anyone who desires to go there for a massage. Thank you Jermaine for a job well done.

Woodner was very professional and polite, gave me an exceptional massage making sure that I was comfortable and addressed my concerns with my shoulders and neck. I walked out feeling the relief of tension in my back and shoulders, what a difference!

Beware of signing up for membership no matter how appealing it may sound. It’s not easy to schedule an appointment once you become a member due to no availability and have to be on a waitlist. Furthermore, it’s impossible to cancel membership despite willingness to pay a cancellation fee.

I have been a regular for facials with Olena for over 2 years and she gets a five star rating!However, the High Ridge location franchise is less than accommodating to memberships that have a high accumulation of paid sessions. I requested a one month pause in assistance to catch up using the the 4.5 paid/reserved sessions. I was given the option to freeze my membership with no access to the accumulated paid sessions, or increase my accumulation to more than 6 sessions and put a pause on the account. The pause would convert to a $20.00 per month charge for use/access to the account.Not good customer service, whatever the policy is.An owner should be more customer oriented than preaching to a policy that is essentially penny wise and pound foolish.A simple one month reprieve would have been much wiser on her part.

I have been going to Massage Envy on High Ridge Road for a couple of years, and it is always a great experience. The staff is courteous, helpful, and prompt. The massage therapists have all been wonderful. Asher was my most recent masseuse, and he was very knowledgeable about the back pain I’m experiencing and able to explain the method he was going to use to help. It was a great massage, and my back felt immediate relief. I recommend this Massage Envy highly.

I have been a long time customer of Massage Envy’s and my most recent visit was with Woodner - he was great, great, great! I left feeling more relaxed and my back, which is a big pain point normally, was relieved of any pressure. It was a wonderful massage!

She is professional and so well versed in the different products/treatments in order to meet your skin goals. The front desk staff is also very responsive, helpful, and efficient in scheduling my appointments and checking me into the spa. I have always had a pleasant experience at Massage Envy - North Stamford.

Another Great Experience at Massage Envy in Stamford. Doreen is an Excellent Massage Therapist. My wife and I have had appointments set for Every Other week, exclusively with Doreen, because of how Great we feel when we leave their location. Doreen has a vast knowledge of her craft and always finds techniques to alleviate muscle problems. I’ve had a massage by many different therapists over the years, and I have to state that Doreen is THE BEST!!!!! Take my word for it!

Highly recommend this location. Morgan, my massage therapist is fantastic! She has me feeling like a new person every time I leave ! She is very attentive to my needs and is always friendly and smiling. Give them a try, you won’t regret it!

I’ve been coming to massage envy for 2 years now. I’ve had multiple employees work with me on facials, massages and rapid tension release. The business communicates effectively about their policies and booking appointments. The location is very clean and tidy with a private lot for parking. COVID-19 screenings are done virtually so you can quickly come inside for your service and spend minimal time at the front desk.I recently visited to have the rapid tension relief service with Catherine. She is certified and takes her time listening to my concerns and working on the affected areas. She is very gentle and has a good approach for making my achy body comfortable for treatment. I would recommend her to anyone looking to get those stiff muscles worked on she’s excellent at detecting problem areas and providing insight on improvement.

I’ve now seen Kira for a couple of years and she has been a transformative force in my life. In addition to having an exceptional understanding of her craft, she has an extraordinary sense of exactly what her clients need (e.g. specific focus areas, recommendations for enhancements - like scented essential oils - without any pressure). She also gave me the most muscle & tension melting hot stone massage of all time.

Oléna is the sweetest woman to ever work on my face. She is very gentle and her soft voice is soothing too. She does a facial like nobody’s business and addresses any areas that need TLC. Don’t get me started in her hand massage technique!! I would highly recommend her to anyone new or old to facials.-Nora

I had my first massage since giving birth and Germaine was absolutely amazing!! When I went in, my back had really been bothering me, and the rest of my body was sore. I feel completely better now, after the massage, and will be going back for another deep tissue massage with Germaine as soon as I can.

The massage therapists are great. Especially Germaine. She is strong, professional and knows how to use deep pressure to receive tension.My issues are with the management and the upselling that occurs in the treatment room for facials. Without being informed of extra charges, alternatives are offered. After the fact, you are billed 2 sessions (if you have a membership) or upcharges. This is unethical and has happened twice.For example, I call to ask how many sessions I was charged for a particular appointment. She responds you have two remaining sessions. That doesnt answer my questions.... I ask again... after some stumbling, you were charged two sessions for the facial bc it was an advanced treatment. Should I not have been told at the time of check out that this was the case??? It was my first visit to Massage Envy. I received a gift card and a recommendation to book an appointment with Jenn from a friend of mine. I had the best massage I think Ive ever gotten and Jenn was super helpful afterwards in recommending services for the future as well as stretches to do at home. The front desk staff member was also very helpful in walking me through the paperwork since it was my first visit, as well as booking my next session.The location is also very clean, relaxing, and pleasant. All in all I had a great experience and will certainly be back!

Woodner was fantastic! I went in for a deep tissue to relieve some stress but I also wanted to enjoy the massage. Woodner did an amazing job at digging into the stress points but also doing some lighter touch in the less stress areas - perfect mix!

These massage therapists and estheticians are very well trained before, during, and after their career at Massage Envy and that is why I can trust that Ill be in good hands. I have been there many times and although I am not an official member, I still get the same respect and courtesy being a guest. The North Stamford location has appointments available depending on whether or not you book with advanced notice. The front desk go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. My esthetician, Gaya, is my go to gal for my Mens facial. She is kind, informative, and very relaxing. More can be said, but I think I have summed it up. Cannot wait for my next appointment!

As a regular member, I have had time to experience many therapists styles and have found two that I consider my regular therapists.This place is set up for people who are seeking a regular massage and will schedule your visits out 6+ months in advance, so you get the time slot and therapist you want. For the price, I find this particular Massage Envy a great deal and I will continue to return for more sessions!

Ive been going to appointments for the last 2 months with Kira and she has provided excellent service for me and my pregnant wife. Highly recommend her for medium or deep tissue massage as well as for expecting mothers.

Massage envy has done a great job of adapting to pandemic conditions. It has been great to have this oasis to deal with stress and also know that I am safe and they are taking all of the necessary precautions. Olena is the most talented facial aesthetician I’ve had in all of my years of getting facials at various locations and it’s great how easy it is to book with massage envy, and how well they communicate.

I have gotten massages at this branch and received wonderful service. The employees have always been friendly and my parents swear by their massages. However I had such a frustrating experience with my first ME facial that I felt wrong not saying something.I had a facial with Mignon, who told me as soon as I lied down on the table that I was going to need to extend my appointment because she had so much work to do (on my acne). Although I wasn’t excited about the extra fee it would cost me (because I was there using hours that were Christmas gifts and had expected to receive a free service), I didn’t say anything. However I ended up sitting in the chair for an hour and a half in pain as she extracted my face and listed to me all of the products I had to buy when she was finished. To top off the time, the mask she put on my face dripped into my eye after she left the room, and I was left trying to clear it out and hoping it wasn’t doing any damage. My stamina ran very low and I left feeling swollen and exhausted. This feeling isn’t new to me in facials, as beauticians always love popping my acne, and I’ve left salons with a red face every other time. However when I saw the state of my face the next morning I was mortified. I have painful bruising between my eyebrows and open cuts all over my cheeks, the worst ones in places where I didn’t have any noticeable breakouts walking into the appointment. Knowing my skin, these will turn into dark scars that will stick around for weeks with care, if not months.I am not questioning the beauticians skill or craft, and this kind of treatment may work on other skin types, but in my opinion if you have to squeeze a bump so hard that it rips so much of the skin open, you should not be popping that spot.Like I said, Massage Envy is wonderful for massages, hence the 3 stars. But take this as a lesson, if you feel uncomfortable or apprehensive about a treatment, speak up! It’s your skin and your body, and that’s not something to take lightly.

The front desk is professional but on my last visit, I was assigned a very rude and unprofessional therapist last Friday. Due to his negative attitude, I decided to cancel my membership. People should leave a massage place, relax and not offended.

I had an excellent experience yesterday. I requested a deep tissue massage and Woodner was able to deliver and release the tension that I manage to store in my muscles on a daily basis.

An overwhelming lack of availability for any therapists who are worth it. They are quick to take your money but not to provide services. They hounded me to reinstate my account as COVID is ending but have no therapist available to deliver the services for the multiple months that they already owe me. To make matters worse - they charge you extra $ to go elsewhere in their network or gift to a family member. Would think that post COVID as businesses struggle there would be more focus on customer service but nothing has changed. There are plenty other local places that are nicer and easier to work with. Buyer beware! (To the proprietor: no need for your canned response.)

I have always had great massages here but find it very difficult to get times for massage and availability. Maybe they are growing too quickly and dont have the staff to accommodate this? That is my only complaint. I do find the staff professional and pleasant and the place is clean.

Horrible. First they ask if youve been with them. If your new forget it , you wont get same day service. And then when you actually get the massage its not professional. Theyre just trained over night on how to give you an ok rub down like its your co worker your flirting with or something. All in all go see some real masseuses your welcome
