It was an okay place. Really clean, team was professional, and it was an easy sign in process.Gave it 3 stars for a few reasons. I bought a special for 2 hours for $119. 1 hour massage, 1 hour facial. Massage ended up only being 40ish minutes. It was good but not what I requested. They even asked what type of massage i want on the intake (light, med, or hard and another choice of “relaxing” or “pain relieving” or “stress reduction”). I didnt get a pain relieving massage.The facial was good but, as usual, they upsold me during the facial. Very irritating to try to enjoy then someone is trying to upsell you during a massage, basically telling you the facial I signed up for isn’t going to do much for me.

My massage therapist was really good. Listened to my areas of concern & had water waiting for me when I came out of the room. Love this place! Especially love their deals that they run. My parents come here too. ❤️

Weve done a few Groupon Tampa massages while visiting from Miami and this one was really good. Our massages were very relaxing, and they came with a glass of chilled white or red wine, which we enjoyed in the designated relaxation room. I told the gentleman doing my massage Id been studying slumped at a desk a lot and he focused on my shoulders and back. He also made sure to let me know the hot stones were coming which I appreciated. The bathroom was very clean. Overall, the staff was kind and professional. We would visit this location when in the Tampa area again.

I hate to have to leave a review like this. But before even coming here I had read the reviews and it seemed like it would be a great spot. But boyyyyyy was I wrong. I can honestly say this was one of the worst massages I’ve ever had. The person massaging me went so fast and wasn’t even massaging me just felt like I was being rubbed on. It was super rushed the masseuse probably spent about a minute on each of my legs. Kept pressing on my bone thinking it was a knot and I really thought I was gonna have to just say stop. I’m honestly so disappointed about this. I was truly looking forward to a relaxing deep tissue massage and left pissed off instead and my back still hurting. The Asian foot spa is 1000 times better I’ll never come back.

We were in Tampa for business, and it had been a while since our last massage. We found Essentials Massage and Facials of Carrollwood on Groupon and called directly to confirm availability.After speaking with the representative Cathy, we realized that booking directly with her would be more expensive than what Groupon was offering at the time. She suggested we continue booking through Groupon and we did.There happened to be a delay with Groupon processing the order. Cathy was super proactive and located our Groupon voucher and applied it to our booking after it finally processed the next day.By going the extra mile, she made our booking and check-in process experience seamless.We arrived on (Nov 13, 2022)15 minutes prior to the start of services to complete check-in process. The place was super clean, very relaxing atmosphere. Our services started on time, every employee we encountered was super professional, informative, warm, and engaging.We got facials and the couples massages with the stones. It was heaven! My apologies that Im unable to recall their names but they were all excellent and really personalized our experience. They even provided us with complimentary wine!I would highly recommend this place because I definitely plan on returning when Im in the Tampa area again!

I always come here for my skin care needs. I leave feeling brand new and beautiful. I love this salon and highly recommend Brittany for you skin care needs . She’s professional and very skilled. All I had to do is tell her my concerns and she detailed her plan of action to help me achieve my goals. Also, the massages will change your life.

Today was my first visit for a deep tissue massage, and I saw Ray. Ray was amazing! He took care of my issues and made good recommendations for at home care. Will definitely return and ask for Ray!

I gave my sister and my husband an exfoliating hot stone massage and something else that came with the package I bought on Groupon, but what it was, I dont remember now. The place is cozy and clean. The therapists are friendly. But neither of them were given the complete package and they did not use the hot stones. The receptionist apologized. But I still recommend it as a place to relax.

I had a wonderful experience here! Brittanys facial was the best Ive ever had. I didnt really know what to tell her so she did an assessment and gave me options. I also had a massage with Ray he listened to my issues and addressed them. These two get 10s!

As Ive gotten older my hair has been thinning and lost its luster. A friend told me about Lisa at essentials. She told me about different things I could do to stimulate hair growth. She guided me with colors. Look at what she did. Best stylist Ive had in years!

Irdris and Ray were amazing! They made us feel so comfortable during the experience and we had such great conversations. Definitely coming back for them!

I had a relaxing massage by Brittney today and she gave special attention to some knots in my neck and I would highly recommend her. A different Britney gave me a European facial and was very informative and taught me about products I could use even from my drugstore since that is my preference. She was incredible and I will see her again regularly for sure!!!

My masseuse was friendly, and I know he meant well. But the massage was pretty underwhelming. His music would pause throughout the massage, and he would stop to resume the music. I could hear him rolling his chair around the bed and banging it against the wall. He massages my legs down to my feet, and then used his fingers for a scalp massage which I thought was pretty poor hygiene. You can also hear everyone’s conversations in the hallway, which did not add to a very relaxing experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I had such a pleasant experience and will be finding my way back in hopefully sooner than later! I was honestly very VERY nervous about having my hair trimmed due to it being curly but Brittany did an AMAZING job with my hair as well as calming my anxiety throughout the haircut by constantly showing me and reassuring me how much she was taking off and gently talked me through it. I also got a pedicure as well as a facial with Brittany and really just felt like a million bucks when I left.Honestly, five stars isn’t a good enough rating for the service that I got and I WILL be going back!

Stephanie did my facial and she was absolutely amazing. She communicated very well everything she was doing. She was very comforting and a pleasure to talk to or sit in silence with. Definitely book your next facial with her. You wont be disappointed in your care!

Essentials Massage and Facials is literally my favorite place to go to shut the world off and just RELAX. Every time Brittany does my hair, I leave feeling beautiful and loving myself! Brittany is not only extremely talented at what she does, but she becomes my personal therapist while I’m in her chair and always gives me great feedback. She is authentic, honest, personable and extremely empathetic which always shows through the work she does. I have never had a bad experience at Essentials. Every service they provide are top tier! I refuse to go anywhere else to get my hair done, facials or massages. 5 stars!

We arrived 20 min early to complete paperwork but they didn’t call us back for our couples massage until 5 after our appt. The consultation was brief on my end with no direction. My b/f had a lovely massage w/ an older gentleman who focused on his back pain. Unfortunately, I had the worst massage of my life. Not only was the massage uncomfortable, the masseuse had a podcast playing in his ear for the entire time. He skipped my left leg entirely when the time was up and we realized it was only about 45 minutes even those it was supposed to be an hour. Also at the end they offered wine in a waiting room which was never delivered. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

My husband and I used a groupon deal for a couples massage here for my birthday weekend, and it was superb! My husband had marked Medium-Deep, and I had a Medium level massage. Next time, I may definitely go for Medium-Deep for those pained areas. We were assigned Britney A. And Idris, and definitely look forward to booking with them in the future! Super happy with the experience this time. Definitely will be going back!I unfortunately had a pretty disappointing massage last week with Alex. Let me start by saying the facility was nice and so was the receptionist. However, my massage was an utter disappointment. I went for a therapeutic and it really felt like he was just rubbing lotion on me. I did ask for more pressure (because I did ask for a therapeutic) and he just stuck his knuckles into me and put all his weight on my back. I woke up the next morning sore, and husband confirmed 2 bruises. It truly didn’t feel like he was experienced. I hate to put anyone down, and he might be great for others looking to just relax, but he wasn’t able to provide me with the service I requested. Just really disappointed.

I have been here several times for a massage and everyone has been great. I went for the first time today for a haircut and Brittney was amazing! Super sweet and personable and she did a great job! My hair looks and feels great and she gave me some useful insight/tips on keeping up with it. I will be back!

I was holding off on posting a review in hopes that the owner/manager would contact me after I called regarding my concerns, but unfortunately not. My boyfriend surprised me with a couples massage last Saturday. I was very excited. The facility was very nice and i was under the impression that it would be a great experience. When arriving we were asked to fill out a paper and it asked questions that included where we would like them to focus on, the pressure, etc. Before my massage, my person asked where Id like them to focus and the pressure. I said - my lower back and a lot of pressure as I have a lot of pain there. Turns out the person who did my massage either didnt read the paper or didnt listen to what I asked them to focus on. I was very disappointed afterwards as I felt that I was just rubbed down with lotion the whole time. Perhaps I was just unlucky with who I was assigned to, but I hope that in the future, a manager is sure that the people doing the massages are reading the customers request. On the bright side, my boyfriend had an awesome person and enjoyed his massage. The facility was clean and had friendly staff.

This was where I got my haircut before I moved out of the area. Thats the only reason I stopped going :( Brittany always did an excellent job - the customer service was excellent - everyone was very friendly and helpful, it was in a nice quiet area, wasnt overly busy. Definitely would recommend!

Scheduled my appointment a month in advance due to the high demand on the weekends. Get a call 4 days in prior to reschedule a whole another month out due to lack of employees. Highly disappointed

To say I am disappointed would be an understatement we had booked a couples massage for our anniversary. We were making the 40 minute drive down from where we live and we were 7 minutes away from arriving when they called to cancel. Stating they could not accommodate us due to staffing shortage. We had made arrangements for childcare, and schedule this a month in advance. It is completely unprofessional and I would never recommend this for any one.

I went here for my birthday for a massage and facial. Christian did my hour long massage and it felt amazing. Minimal soreness the day after and definitely feel rejuvenated! Lisa did my facial and was a gem. Shes full of personality and made my experience memorable. She provided information for after care and my face looks so clean and fresh.. Im so appreciative of their hard work and I will go back for their services again. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because the facility itself could use upgrades. They have a great team-- but they could definitely elevate the experience with a updated atmosphere.

I visited Essentials Massage and Facial with my husband. We got a couples massage while in Tampa for our anniversary trip. Our masseuses were Roderick and Jasmine and they were great. They made us feel very comfortable and the massage was 10 out 10 😀

I came to essentials to celebrate my boyfriend’s 33rd birthday. I worked with Roderick and my boyfriend worked with Carlisle. They were both accommodating and welcoming when choosing our Masseuse(r). Roderick with firm but gentle. His technique made my knees feel like they were never even injured and I forgot to mention it in the intake . I had a great time very relaxing . The only thing I would suggest is lo-fi music instead of classical spring formal . I was a little more alert during our session, as songs like Schumann – The Spring Symphony (No. 1, 1st movement) played in the background. We had a great time otherwise. I would definitely recommend.

Me and my bf came for our anniversary and some much needed relaxation. Ray and Carlesha were our massage therapist and they were amazing! We were so relaxed we ended up falling asleep. Total relaxation! 10/10

I have very tight muscles in my neck and back so when I saw the FB ad pop up I immediately called and booked my appointment. STAY AWAY. Do not buy their Groupon! Bought their Groupon and they make you give them the code over the phone. Next thing you know they canceled me TWICE on the same day of my couples massage appointment and asked me to keep rescheduling. They don’t know how to manager their calendar. Now I have to go through the trouble of getting a refund with Groupon. It’s a nightmare, save yourself the time and trouble and go elsewhere.

First time coming here and it was a very pleasant experience. My husband and I did the couples massage and it was relaxing. Right amount of pressure from Carlesha and Rondrick. Foot scrub on our feet along with the hot towels and hot stones were great! The only item I would change (we should have spoken up and said something) would be the music. It was violins/classical and I didnt find it too relaxing.

Highly recommend Naromi for your skin care needs/ facial. She was amazing and very knowledgable. For a Massage I recommend Alan. He was very professional and was well experienced. I went to destress and all the stress melted away.

We went here for a an hour of hot stone reflexology aromatherapy massage and 1 hour facial for me. While the massage was good, I wouldn’t say great, the facial was a utter disaster. I paid through Groupon for a 60 mins facial but it lasted total of only 45ish mins. The aesthetician kept asking to upgrade which I did pay $50 more for a special sensitive mask but the mask was kept on hardly for 5 mins or less and there was no massage for more than 5 mins. Rest of the time it was hot towels on your face. I will not recommend this spa to anyone. Utter waste of time and money. Sorry!!

Ms. Carlisha was amazing. She definitely knew what she was doing. Even taught me a stretch to do at home to help with my hips and groin area. Definitely recommend her if you ever visit Essentials.

My boyfriend and I have been to this essentials three times. The first time we had a couples massage with Kevin and May and they were amazing. The second time we went was the complete opposite. While my boyfriend had a good massage, my therapist fell asleep 4 times and I ended the massage early. We left and requested a manager to call us which they did and asked us to return at a later date and discussed no requirement for paying again. When we returned the third time, we had a great experience with Kevin and May again and Brittany, the lady that did my facial.My boyfriend went out to pay and they tried charging my boyfriend for the massage again. He argued and the front desk lady stated she would call the manager. She explained it was the only way they would get paid but for her to call the manager to ask for it to be comped to make sure May would be paid. After calling, they began explaining that the manager would only allow a 50% discount.They discussed no money when they called asking us to come back and explained it’s the only way they get paid. Surprised to say the least and later found out they fired the masseuse because of all the complaints he was receiving (stated by staff).Based on how the management handled this, we will not be returning but wanted to make sure the employees were not punished for it. Kevin, May and Brittany thank you so much for your time and services, you were all amazing!

I will start this review by saying the ambiance is very clean, I got a peaceful vibe when entering the front door. My boyfriend booked a couples massage because we both work a lot & we are on our feet constantly. (He works in a warehouse & I am a cosmetologist) Entering the couples massage room was nice; they had an electric fire place on the wall & the room was clean. I had an older masseuse & my boyfriend had a female masseuse. The start of the massage was ok I asked for a little more pressure & never got it. He was chewing gum the entire time & I didn’t get everything I paid for. I was suppose to get a foot scrub & hot stones which was not done. Driving from Riverview to Carrollwood I was so excited for this massage & I left so disappointed. I will not be back.My boyfriend’s experience was better he got all his add ons & had an amazing massage from his masseuse. She added a hot towel to his face when he turned over & added the pressure he asked for. He would return if I had a better experience. The one thing we both will say is the towel warmer door kept being slammed closed so that effected our experience. Overall there’s A LOT that needs to be improved on.

Purchased a couples 60min massage with hot stones, aromatherapy, reflexology, and exfoliation for our anniversary, and THIRTY (30) minutes before the appointment, as we are making the 45 minute drive because we were told to be early, we are 7 minutes away, we receive a phone call to tell us our appointment is cancelled because a therapist “called in sick or whatever” is what we were told on the phone.This is absolutely unacceptable, disappointing and disrespectful.

This was the best experience that I ever had. From a scale 1 to 5 I give it 100 and I give a A+ to Rondric he was excellent. He relaxed every muscle in my body muscles that I didn’t even know exist. Thank you. Will recommend and ask for him.

So after driving back after a long 16 hours, I decided to treat myself and my friend to massages. I grabbed a great deal off groupon and decided to book the same day. Upon calling I was informed that my couples massage would have to be separate rooms due to all the rooms being full. Nonetheless I still booked because while I wanted to enjoy that experience with my honey, it was way more important for us to relax. Aaron did my massage and she was great. Now my honey on the other hand who I really booked the massage for did not get the experience he wanted. His massage was performed by a woman who could barely walk. I saw her practically scaling the wall to maintain her movement. Upon leaving I told the receptionist everything was fine but once we got in the car my honey expressed his dissatisfaction with the service. The areas he asked to be massaged were neglected and given the woman’s physical state he did not get what he deserved. I do not see myself visiting this location again.

Got a 1hr Swedish Massage with Carlisha to help me heal from clinical burnout— absolutely excellent. She was very caring but provided the strength I needed to dig deep in some troublesome areas

First time customer here. Rondrick is a wonderfully thorough LMT. I came in to the spa with a locked-up lower back and spasm in my neck and he basically pulled me apart and put me back together in better shape than I’ve felt in months. I am definitely coming back.

The massage with Christian was very good, I highly recommend.My facial was with Kelly, if you have sensitive skin I don’t recommend. I mentioned I am sensitive to fragrance and the first thing she used had a ton of fragrance in it. My sheet also stated I have cystic acne and she was attempting to pop my cysts on my chest which is very dangerous and could lead to infection. I’m really hoping my skin recovers as I feel very irritated after, I know that’s normal but I wish there was more regards to my skin sensitivities. Otherwise, she was very polite !I’d come back for massage with Christian!

Prices are amazing and that allows me to go regularly for massages. I was worried about getting a new masseuse but Raymond is fabulous. Highly recommend any massage service with him!

I have had a regular massage therapist for years to help manage chronic daily migraine. I was looking for someone to see when her schedule was full, or when I needed a little help in between sessions. I scheduled at Essentials, for a same day appointment! The young lady I spoke to was so sweet and helpful. I had the good fortune of being scheduled with Erin. I honestly was SO comfortable with this therapist. The pre-treatment consult allowed me to communicate a few limitations and preferences, and I was asked so kindly for feedback re: pressure. Erin is a gem and I will be scheduling again soon! Thank you, Erin! I felt 1000x better after my massage!!

Massages were amazing!!! Clean & cute place. Our massages didn’t last the entire 40 minutes but no complaints. They also didn’t focus on feet and hands but the other parts I asked them to focus on they did. So me and my gf left happy and feeling great! OH DO NOT DRINK OUT OF THE WINE GLASSES, they are not clean. Definitely would be back though.

Kelly is your go to facialist she’s great she’s been in the business for 19 years I recommend her highly is this is going to be my third appointment with her that I booked in December. I referred her to my daughter hopefully will be able to do a mother and daughter facial shopping for Christmas.

Today was my first time at Essential Salon and Spa. I was very impressed with the beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff. I had an appointment with hair dresser Meagan who is AMAZING! She took her time and explained everything she was going to do before doing it. One of the best haircuts and styles I’ve ever had, in fact my daughter booked an appointment after seeing my hair. Next time I go I’ll be booking a massage as well, very reasonable prices and many services to chose from.Thank you Meagan for the new me!!!

Nice place. The massages are amazing. Not a huge fan of their manicures, felt like I paid too much for someone to quickly clean up my cuticles and slap some nail polish on. And after only 3 days, the gel manicure is peeling off.

I recently had a couples massage with my girlfriend and I, and we enjoyed it thoroughly (Kevin/May). I then for my girlfriend and I’s anniversary purchased a BFF massage and facial for $179. We got there and were told it will be done in separate rooms, wish it was mentioned in the ad unless it was and I just didn’t see it. No big deal, we agreed and went our separate ways to different rooms. I enjoyed my massage from I think it was Cynthia I could be wrong, she was great. I went to the waiting room for the facial and my girlfriend was there and asked to leave cause she felt uncomfortable. Her masseuse fell asleep 4 times on her while giving a massage. We left and I told management we weren’t staying for the facial. We were called by front desk management (not owner) with sincere apologies and offered a Couples massage, and to be in the same room with Kevin and May because we told them we enjoyed our experience with them before. I reluctantly accepted because we enjoyed the first time so much. Well 2nd time comes. We get Kevin and May again who were fantastic. Then had our facials and they were great. I get upfront to pay for the up grades we got in the facial. And I was told I was to pay for my massage, since I enjoyed my massage when we were there the last time and it was my gf who had the issue not me. I then said well I want to make sure that May gets paid, so I will pay it but I am not happy. The lady at the front desk then said I will call the owner to see if I can get it comped to make sure May gets paid. I said OK. The lady comes back after a few minutes and said the best that the owner will do is split the massage 50%. So instead of arguing with the middleman who did nothing wrong. I agreed just to get out of there. 2nd bad experience is enough for me. I will never step foot in this establishment again.

I visited this spa before for a massage with my mother and it was good. It wasn’t until my second time visiting that my experience was not good at all. I had a massage done at first and then an extraction facial done after. This is where my experience went downhill and left me with skin burns and marks. Right off the bat I was asked if I wanted to clean up my eyebrows and I said yes because I assumed that it was going to just be a few quick plucks but instead I began to get my eyebrows waxed without even being asked. Not only did the facialist not advise me she would wax my eyebrows but she ripped some of my skin off as well leaving me with a cut underneath my eyebrow. Not only that but she didn’t advise me it would be an up charge and later I was charged $15. This was just a beginning of my very awful experience. The next day I woke up with my skin very irritated and all the areas where I was “ extracted” were very red and bruised. I have very sensitive skin so this is something that didn’t benefit me at all but only made my skin worse. It is currently scabbing and very dry 3 days later and I am worried I will have permanent marks on my face due to this wrongful facial job. I called back essentials spa in Carrollwood with my concerns and all they had to say was that they were sorry and offered me 10% off my next visit. I never wanted anything back from them but to spread awareness on this issue and for it to never happen again to anyone else. I will not be ever coming back.

Horrible front desk staff. Walk in there was a little late for a first time massage and instead of telling me nicely about their rules of been late . The front desk told me she will charge rescheduling fee if I rebooked. Rooms look so dark and the option to get a massage with diff individuals are not given. Do not waste your money they are ridiculous a facial cost $100 for a Xmas theme and empty bag. They give you wine with it but they really charging you .The facial lady was very nice but the cost for cleaning your face and putting hot towels I can do at home …. I walked right out there with my boyfriend that was trying to book an appt for the first time . Never I’ve been to such a nasty place with bad customer service on a Saturday. Plus this lady was talking to me and in the phone booking another customer and giving information about Groupon . No wonder they have Groupon Specials. Will never come back here ever again. I didn’t even get a Groupon Special. I pay $100 for a Xmas peppermint facial .

Bought two facials and massage voucher from Groupon. Great customer service.If you are going to get a facial and massage as one - massage should be done first. If not, all the facial moisturizer/products vanish once you are face down for massage.Too much extra costs - extra for extraction (which should be part of a 60 minute facial - I felt I paid for nothing because extraction wasnt done properly - less than 3 mins). Additional for enzymes - this should be offered as a type of facial not added. I also thought I paid for an hour - she was done in 45 mins. No face mask done either.Massage was ok - mentioned my right shoulder - not much attention given anyway.

I have been going to Brittany for my hair for 10 years. She is always perfect— she knows exactly how to cut my hair so that it frames my face, and she really listens to her clients when they tell her what they want. She’s always great conversation too!! This spa was so nice, I drove down from NC to get my hair cut by her this past June and it was definitely someplace I’d recommend even if Brit wasn’t there. Love you Brit!!!

Christian was great! This was my second time here but I’m pretty disappointed, I moved everything in my schedule around to make a massage and facial work and unfortunately my aesthetician had an emergency, obviously out of her control. However, I was there and in the room minutes before it was supposed to begin and I was alerted of the cancellation. They asked if I wanted to reschedule but unfortunately not times this week work and I return to both jobs next week. I was a bit disappointed as they offered nothing in return for the cancellation. Again, I understand emergencies happen but if this was the other way around I know I’d be paying the cancellation fee. Not to mention the last apt had to be rescheduled too for a scheduling conflict. This place is nice and I hope to return but I’m just pretty disappointed today.

Got a Groupon for facials and full body massages as a gift for my daughter and I, once we entered the vibe was off. The lady that did our facial was to much, kept talking, rough with the facial and clearly enjoys doing extractions for she mentioned this quiet a few times which is amazing but it’s a spa hush and just massaged please. We had the full body massage, it was the Hawaiian massage to which was so AMAZING! Kevin!! He definitely made the visit worth it, he’s professional, soft spoken, his hands OMG! I left that place so relaxed!

After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned but once I stepped inside, they all fell away. They have a beautiful lobby and Mimi at the front desk is just as sweet and caring as they get. The staff members that I interacted with were all very personable.My masseur was Chris and he was just amazing. He started off by asking if I had any trouble areas that Id like him to work on and then he asked if there were any areas Id like him to avoid. He started off gentle, hes a very tall man but as soon as I asked him to increase the pressure he adjusted right away. All I had to do was ask for deeper and he adjusted little by little immediately. I really appreciated that, in the past when Ive asked for deeper they sometimes ramp it up so high I almost come off the table. Chris was perfect!!My massage included aromatherapy and exfoliation. Both were superb!I highly recommend Essentials Massage and Facials of Carrollwood. I will be returning soon.

I’ve been here once before and it was amazing, but I am trying to rebook an appointment and I kid you not I’ve called over 7 DIFFERENT TIMES and left a clear message each time to call me back with my name and number so I can rebook AND NO ONE ANSWERS. That is so frustrating and I really wish I would get an explanation as to why there is a receptionist and a phone number if no one is going to answer. My Groupon is going to expire and I still haven’t got to use it. That is just ridiculous. They do such a great service but now I can’t even get in touch with the folks.

Absolutely horrifying experience here on Mothers Day!!! Got booked a massage and facial here by my boyfriend which I was so excited about, however upon arriving to the location it was not at all what I expected. First this location is in a plaza THEN the lobby is absolutely hideous there is nothing about it that says relaxation or Serene. Very very low budget. My massage was awful, the robes just literally everything about this location is low budget and not thought out to be relaxing. I didn’t get the facial based upon my massage service was overall trash then I still haven’t gotten my refund for not wanting to have the facial based upon the God awful massage and rude receptionist! If you have taste and like a boujie spa experience DO NOT BOOK HERE NOT EVEN WORTH GROUPON!!!!!

The couple’s massage was everything we needed. It was my wife’s first time, NOW, she saying she needs to go once a month making it a necessity. She’s absolutely correct, good massages are necessary and essential. We came late and only was able to get about 25-30 minutes. That was our fault and we take full responsibility for it. Butttt I thought I read you can pay for extra time if that was to happen. Hey I might be wrong. JUST MAKE SURE YOU ARE THERE 15 MINUTES EARLY. You will definitely be glad you were on time, and your body will appreciate your mind and soul afterwards. They can definitely get 4-5 stars, I’m just being slightly petty, thinking about the time I lost. The place is clean, with a fresh scent, the atmosphere is non-eccentric, inviting, and relaxing… SOFT HANDS AND STRONG ARMS. We going back, it’s only right.

I have been going here for some time and have always found it adequate. I am giving 5 stars for my visit on Friday, 2/4/22. I had a 90 minute theraputic massage (my 1st 90 minute massage). Erin , my massage therapist was phenomenal. I cannot recommend her enough. Best massage I have EVER had.

WORST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE, honestly!!!! Use to go there for Steven & since he left had to make appointment with Lisa. 1000% regret it!When I walked in I told her I wanted to keep the length just wanted layers. She SCALPED ME!!! I USE TO have a full head of hair and now it’s PAPER THIN & at least 4 inches shorter!!! This will take me YEARS to grow back, if at all. I’m not so much upset about the length, it’s the fullness, it’s GONE!!! She aged me 10 years in 1 haircut. NEVER would I let this woman touch my hair again or recommend her to anyone!!!!

I 100% do not recommend this place. First off, they have high school girls running the show up front that have no idea what they’re doing. I had to wait for ten to twelve minutes for an appointment I scheduled two weeks ago and on top of that my masseuse eneded my massage five minutes early. The massage itself literally felt like a toddler giving me a back rub and he didn’t stop talking to me about random nonsense the entire time which was definitely not relaxing. I communicated which parts of my back and shoulders had the most pain and he probably spent about five minutes on each out of the whole hour.

Very professional place. I’m always greeted with kindness as soon as I walk in the door. Ray does an excellent job I left feeling amazing and very relaxed!

The worst massage I don’t recommend this place. All they do is put hot towels on me and keep put hot towels at me and hot stones, deep tissue at all. And I’m paying for deep tissue after an hour I feel like I get nothing. Plus they don’t finish the whole hour horrible experience..

I went into the Essentials Massage and Facials salon for the first time this week. My experience was wonderful! The space is very clean, relaxing and looks brand new. The massage rooms are very tastefully done and have a luxurious feel to them. The price on Tuesdays is just $25 for a one hour massage! Seemed too good to be true ... but it is just as advertised ...This is the same massage you would pay $75 or more elsewhere! The therapist I had was named Sheila, and she was excellent. Also, the owner (or manager?), who was there went ABOVE and beyond to make sure that I was happy with my experience!! I already booked a couples massage for my husband and I for next Tuesday ... I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND this spa! (PS: I think this would be a terrific holiday present for anybody on your list ... we are buying 3 massage gift cards for family gifts)

My original review was too long so I have to shorten my retelling of this hellish experience that I still can’t believe I paid for. I’ve been going here for years and never had a bad experience, until now. I’ve never even written a review like this, and I’ve never had a massage experience like this anywhere before. First, I was never asked while I was booking if I was comfortable with a male massage therapist, so when I got there with my friend, I was supposed to have a female and my friend a male. I’ve had at least two different male LMTs here and they were both wonderful so I offered to switch to help make my friend more comfortable. The customer who had just finished with the male therapist came out into the lobby, looked at us, and told us to “run”… She clearly had also had a terrible experience and no one seemed to be concerned at all or offered to remedy her terrible experience. When I went to ask if my friend and I could just switch he gave me an attitude and wouldn’t even speak to me. He just ordered me to “deal with it with the receptionist”. By the time they eventually called us back it was 10 minutes after our appointment time (even though we arrived 15 minutes early) and he finished my massage much earlier than they usually do for the typical redress time. This left me with about a 35 minute massage which I was honestly okay with because I kept hoping this experience would end the whole time it was happening. When I finally went to get into the bed it was ice cold and the room was freezing, I understand cooling the room for the therapists but every time I’ve ever had a massage the bed is at least warm and comfortable. Then, when I went to put my face down into the pillow it was dirty and stained. When I asked about that I got more attitude and had to convince him to put a towel down for my comfort. Then when the massage actually started, I’m already freezing, and he just pulled the blankets off all the way down to expose the top of my butt, usually they go slowly and ask what you’re comfortable with. But he showed through this whole massage he had no tact dealing with customers and making sure they’re comfortable. His hands were also ice cold so I eventually started shivering and he never noticed, I finally got the courage to ask for the bed to be warmed and he did it reluctantly. He then spent about 10 minutes, if that, working on my back, which is where I told him I wanted him to focus on when he asked. He spent the rest of the time on my legs for some reason. He also never once asked me if I was comfortable or if the pressure was okay, which it wasn’t for a relaxation massage. When he got to my legs he did the same thing with the blankets, when I would move the blanket back down because I was clearly uncomfortable he would move it back! He was also touching the underside of my butt and my inner thighs way too much. I’ve never been uncomfortable with a massage therapist touching me I understand they are doing their jobs, but I’ve never had a male therapist be so unaware or uncaring of my comfort level. But even if it had been a female therapist I would have been uncomfortable with that touching. And if you’re thinking “maybe he didn’t want to talk too much and take you out of the relaxing experience” all of his banging and slamming things around the room showed that wasn’t the case. I was so cold and uncomfortable through the whole massage I was totally tensed up, especially during my legs. So I left worse than I came in.

My wife gave me groupon voucher for this place for my first massage in my life and let me tell you my experience was AWESOME!. The front receptionist was happy and friendly something that you dont see very often and I loved, my masseuse LUIS was kind and friendly and did AMAZING JOB I feel like a brand new person. I definitely would come back again, thank you so much and keep up the great work !!

I went here to receive an 1 hr full body relaxation massage, I understand it’s supposed to be medium pressure but the massage therapist was simply touching my skin the whole time, I didn’t receive any pressure at all.Also, he was touching way too close to my private areas. I have receive massage from male massage therapists before but this is actually the first time I experienced this. Very inappropriate.

I loved my massage with Kevin, God bless his hands, I can’t remember the last time I felt as relaxed as I did when getting my massage with him. The staff was very helpful and very sweet to us. I’m so glad I found this place!

I came across this place on Groupon and I am glad I did. It was my first time getting a professional massage and they did great. My muscles feel much better now. My fiancé enjoyed it as well and Kevin was able to get the knots out of his back.

My massage therapist recently left this facility. Another masseuse was recommended, and because of my extreme upper back pain I agreed to come in and try her out instead because she had a lot of experience supposedly.. Big mistake. Her technique was not nearly as good as the last therapist (Charlie), she did not focus on the areas of concern knowing I only had 50 minutes and Im in more pain than when I initially came in a few days ago. When you tell someone exactly what you want from a massage and you are paying 65 bucks you expect to receive some sort of relief. Not to mention the room smells like lemon grass but the therapist smells like cigarettes. Disappointed. Only giving two stars because the atmosphere is nice.

Couple massage...i had a few massages before and this was the worse. I lefted with more lower back pain than when I went in becuase the man who took care of me was just giving me an oil rubbed. The girl that massaged my husband did a good job as per my husband. Will NOT go back there. Waste of my money.

Mixed Feelings and Experience...here is the why!Bought a Groupon for Haircut, Style, Blow Dry, Deep Conditioning and Highlights. A clause said that if more than one product recipient was needed I had to pay $10 per bowl which I was fine with. Called the place. Ava, the receptionist was great at scheduling and letting me know of other services. I called back and Dee-dee, the other receptionist was great as well and she sold me one couples massage package from the conversation I had with Ava.The day of the appointment 12/26 comes. The couples massages were wonderful. Those were bought directly on the conversation over the phone as I just said.HOWEVER, THE HAIRCUT EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE. I know the guy suffers asthma and according to him arthritis as well. What I dont know is if he is a qualified hairdresser at all! Refused to give a haircut saying that it wasnt necessary because my hair was fine. Really? The haircut was paid for. Why cant I get it cut however I decide?!? The salon area was empty, he refused to go the highlights in a way thay we could do gray blending. I offer to pay for the full service. Told him to help me at whichever cost as 12/27 was my birthday and wanted to look good not only for myself but when I would see my kids that day. He REFUSED AGAIN! The supposedly highlights could not be seen at all, it was a mess. The whole job was poorly made and he had an attitude for whatever reason. If you guys are selling Groupons to create new clientele, well thank him because it is not going to happen. Once again I offered paying whatever costs so I could get my hair done properly and he said no. It is the first time ever that I go to a salon that prefers not to take my money because the hairdresser doesnt feel like working.I talked to Dee-dee, she said the owner would call me on 12/27 to address the situation. The owner never did. So sad that after services were paid for, no real acknowledgement of the situation ever happened and the owner or whomeveris in-charge never did anything to at least reassure they will take measures for future customers. I ended up doing my hair with a Garnier Product sold at CVS while feeling I was robbed but at least I look like I really did something to my hair.Thanks to the receptionists and also to the massage therapists I would have given you 5 stars each but...the rest I would have given 0, so thanks for a big lesson on what poor customer service looks like. I will never forget!

I drove all the way from Clearwater to get the appointment 10 am massage today July 5. It wasnt until 10:10 that I was told the therapist did not feel well and could I get a massage by another person. Not the way to do business, as I requested a particular person. Oh well buyer beware of these practices.

My husband and I scheduled a couples massage for our anniversary. Originally, we scheduled the massage for Tuesday, but were called due to a cancellation this Sunday at noon. We drove an hour away for this groupon. The receptionist instructed us to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. After filling out the paperwork and waiting for 30 minutes, we were informed that the massage therapist does not work on Sunday until 1:00 PM and we would need to reschedule. Talk about miscommunication. We left very disappointed and cancelled the Groupon for this establishment.

Brittany was great! Cut my hair and trimmed my beard and Im very happy with the results. It wasnt super involved but was a great experience. She is very knowledgeable. Will use her services again.

The girl who gave me the massage was very nice. The lady that answers the phones could be a little more friendly. The massage itself was just ok, and its advertised as a 60 minute massage and thats false. When I asked, they claimed that it was a 50 minute message and 10 minutes to undress and dress. Even if that were true (I did not see anything about that on the groupon I purchased) my massage only lasted 40 minutes. My appointment was at 2. I wasnt called back until 2:05. By the time I got undressed and the massage started it was 2:10 and it ended at 2:50. I most definitely would not pay full price for this experience and probably wouldnt go again even for the discounted rate.

Such an AWFUL hair experience. Would NOT recommend to anyone. He was 25 minutes late, I was there for 4 hours & received such a BOTCHED highlight job I had to go elsewhere to get it fixed. They said the haircut I received was awful too. Plus I received NO hair condition at all. Tried calling the owner several times but NEVER returned my call. Find somewhere else!!!

My last masseuse was great! I wish i could remember her name! She was a sports therapist at one point and really fixed my shoulder and chest. She used great techniques and the right amount of pressure. Ive also had a great facial from megan (I think) she could double as a massage therapist. Had one of the best shoulder and neck massages from her. She knows what shes doing with skin care as well.

I see why they need Groupon. Showed up early as requested but sat in waiting area 40 mins past my appointment, on Mother’s Day! Waste of time and money! Was told my masseuse was accommodating the client before me. If that’s how y’all do business then why bother setting appointments. The massage and facial were good, but the last two times I went there they were cut 10 to 15 minutes short. I arrived 5 minutes early or right on time. The therapist called me back late and still finished at least 10 minutes early. I looked at my watch to verify. Even if they called me back on time, they still finished 10 -15 minutes early. The last time I checked an hour massage is 60 minutes not 45-50 minutes. This happened twice, so unfortunately I will not be returning. The staff and therapist were very friendly, but this left a very bad taste in my mouth both times.

Had full body massage with Chrisitan which was amazing, I loved the deep pressure. I also had a facial with Stephanie which was also perfect, she was very pleasant and my face was so smooth afterwards. Very happy and will be coming back!

Clean and friendly staff..however served what tasted like faucet water from a dixie dental cup. My massage was not as good as the person I went with. No foot rub although reflexology was included in my Groupon. Over all Id give them another try with another therapist. My hot stones were being rubbed with two in his hands and when I looked over the other therapist was doing like what you see in ads and the movies. Needless to say jelous.

(I have come to this specific location on and off for several years)The first bad incident I had was with a specific massage therapist, (I was already undressed and on the bed with my eyes closed) I was asked by the massage therapist if I enjoyed essential oils like lemongrass and I responded with yes, thinking the essential oils would be diffused in the room.In a matter of seconds I have a warm wet towel laid on my face covering my eyes and cheeks (leaving my nose uncovered) and I can smell the lemongrass essential oil, after about 5 mins my eyes start burning from the essential oils placed on the towel. I chalked it up as a bad therapist and asked not to be placed with said therapist.I see a new therapist for the next 3 times.The 4th time I am placed with the “essential oil therapist”. They greet me in the reception area and I don’t want to make a scene or ask to be placed with someone else so I follow them to the room (hoping and praying to the universe that this massage will be better than the last one with them)Well it wasn’t, this time I was BARELY massaged (It reminded me more of a parent trying to lightly rub your back to get you to go to sleep)And again as I’m lying down receiving my “massage” all I hear is “breathe in deep” I can feel a hand near my nose but can’t hold my breathe any longer so I take a small breath and am overwhelmed with the scent of essential oils. This happened 4 different times. Without warning. Without consent. Essential oil was just placed in the closest vicinity of my nostrils with no regards if that was something I even wanted.I left with the intentions to call and leg them know about the situation. Once again I’m not trying to make a scene. So I called and spoke to the manager about the incident, all she did was apologize and say she would speak to the massage therapist.I hope future customers get better massages here than I received but I will definitely not be back. They lost a loyal client.

Gave my mom a day spa package. She is going through a tough time right now taking care of her very elderly parents and a sick husband. Obviously she has no time for herself so I wanted her to have some time to relax for her birthday. The Queen for a Day package was supposed to include a light snack... the snack was a joke. It was 3 strawberries, 4 Hershey kisses and a piece of cheese. Thats hardly a snack for a toddler. Her package also included a Spa Pedicure. She didnt even get her feet scrubbed with a pumice and the lady nicked her twice and made her bleed. What kind of spa pedicure doesnt include a pumice foot scrub? Would not recommend the this place.

Great service, everyone is very friendly, the place is very cleaned. The only thing that caught me by surprise, I was quoted $40 for the Essential European as stated on their website, but when I went to pay for the service it was $75. I recall the esthetician explaining the facial process, but never shared any additional cost. Other than that, the estetician was good. Next time, I will make sure to clarify the cost while they are explaining the process.

Nothing else. Thats all I wanted. I needed a relaxation massage, light to medium pressure. The ENTIRE time I had my hands clenched, I was flinching, squeezing my eyes shut and praying shed stop. I cant tell you how many times I told her she was hurting me and she kept insisting she was using her light/medium pressure and I was just sensitive and had inflammation. She spent the whole hour just destroying my back. The last 3 minutes of my massage were spent on my hands and feet. The one thing I needed so bad because its such a stress reliever, I got barely 30 seconds of on each hand and foot. At times I felt like I was at the chiropractor because it started to feel like an adjustment!So beyond disappointed. I was almost in tears because I needed this so bad and it just ruined the rest of my day. Now I just have spots of soreness where it feels like I have little fingerprint bruises. Its a shame because its a beautiful spa, Patricia is very friendly and sweet but should have kept her personal problems to herself as well as turn off her phone which rang about 6 times. In all honesty I think the small $10 I left was still too much. As was the amount I spent for the Groupon. Awful, awful experience. To top it off, no one ever responded to my complaint. Horrible customer service to the horrible experience.

I got a gift certificate from a co-worker for Christmas, I finally found time for myself & booked my appoitment. The massage therapist was beyond amazing, his name was Javier. Called only 2 days prior & they were able to accommodate my mother & I for massages on a Friday. Highly reccomend.

Soo, my friends buy me a massage gift card here in September 2020. I called them, it took forever to verify that I had one since they spelled my name wrong. Anyways, I made an appointment then called to check the day of the appointment if it was a guy. I prefer to have the massage done by a female, so she said she can reschedule it but I have to pay a fee I said thats okay she could deduct it from the gift card. Well turns out they lost the gift card again & she said I would have to come during the day since the manager isnt there to resolve that.So I needed a massage to relax, but all I got was the stress of trying to schedule one 🤷🏻‍♀️. got tired of arguing on the phone & left it be because to be honest, I can pay for one myself but it won’t be with them lol.Moral of the story, never buy your friends gift cards here on the phone 📱 because if they misspell the name, it’s a nightmare.

Horrible customer service that, doesn’t value Groupon purchases. Bought this spa day for me and my husband prior to making the appointment and the manager Liz Rivera was so rude to us as soon as she found out it was a Groupon purchase, and spoke to us disrespectfully and didn’t let us make an appointment. I’ve worked in the hospitality business and I can understand... however we were extremely kind to her. Now the g gift is now tarnished. Never coming back here again and not recommended for any special occasion 👎 poor professionalisms

My necklace was taken off during the massage but I couldn’t find it after that. I was told they looked for it everywhere but couldn’t find it. I think it’s a good practice if you had to take off cliant’s jewelries you should hand them back to the client. So now my necklace just gone. The store is not taking any responsibility.

Trivia is an amazing masseuse! And the receptionist is so friendly, welcoming and helpful! I went in, back hurting badly and left feeling even worst BUT THE NEXT DAY MY BACK WAS FEELING GREAT! No pain what so ever! THANK YOU TRIVIA! Many blessings to you! I had a wonderful experience with my facial, it was very informative! I was told step by step and given recommendations on how to properly care for my skin. Once the facial was complete my face glowed! THE ONLY REASON I GAVE 3 STARS IS BECAUSE THE PEDICURE WAS HORRIBLE! My foot was shaved with a cheese grater but there was no pumice stone after to smooth it. The woman cut my toe nails but didn’t file afterward to shape and smooth them, the water was freezing by the time the pedi was complete and the chair massage was SO LOUD and ineffective, I just shut it off after 2minutes of annoyance. I told the woman I had a cut on the back of my foot and she kept grabbing it then saying oops sorry! But what really irritated me was the polish! It was a simple white polish but clearly she doesn’t have experience with polish because it was so lumpy- I asked her to take it off. I left without any polish at all and my feet & toenails were rough. DO NOT GET A PEDI HERE! I feel like it was a waste of 35$ when you can get a great pedi at a nail shop for $10/15 LESS. I knew something was wrong when she started taking my nail polish off with make up applicators! And she used a Q-tip to get the foot scrub out of a huge jar and ended up sticking her whole hand in it anyway! So now all of my foot germs are in that bucket. She should have done like the Asians and scooped enough scrub on a side dish before she started. And who uses a makeup wedge to remove polish? She had gone through at least 8/9 of them before she just decided to use the towel my foot rested on. I’d be embarrassed if I was the owner! Pedicures should not be an option if they aren’t properly done.

After a terrible time with another establishment essentials really took time to get what was needed done. They took time to go over packages with me and helped and my daughter select what we thought was right for her mother. When my wife went to get her massage she said she loved it! I definitely recommend this place!!!

BEWARE this place is horrible and they treat people of ethnic backgrounds very unprofessionally.The manager has a nasty attitude and the owner is even worst old lady trying to be young again.lol not what you would expect from such a nicely decorated place. My stylist worked here and they treated us as her clients horrible no greeting never offered any information to get me to schedule service other than Hair as if we couldn’t afford it. Really I support the essentials in south Tampa would never give my money to this place. Glad my stylist got her own salon and is no longer there. Be careful of businesses always running Groupon specials. Cheaper isn’t always better.

Called this business to book a couples massage and facial and requested specific dates, was told there is no openings. Proceeded to ask for other dates and instead the receptionist started talking to someone speaking to her and hung up on me. Tried calling back 4 times and the call wasn’t answered. Is this a legitimate business, or is it being managed properly because there is absolutely no reason why calls are ignored not once but on 4 separate occasions. UNACCEPTABLE.

Long waits with no apology or excuse, rude and inefficient front desk. Only good experience was the massage therapist Mai who was professional and timely always. I regret referring friends and family there after many poor experiences

Umm I purchased the two for 70 deal; its a really good deal. My facial was ok, not very relaxing because she talked alot and ran water etc. But the facial it self was fine. Massage was meh. If youre looking to save Id recommend but high quality spa Id go elsewhere.

Made appointment for a couples massage for Feb 5. They called to confirm on the 4th, then called in the evening to say that someone called out and they needed to reschedule. My husband called the next day to reschedule for the soonest weekend appt, Feb 28. We drove from the next county over in Spring Break traffic, and they have no record of our appointment. They offered to reschedule (like wed fall for that again) and have a manager call us, but we decided to opt out.

FALSE ADVERTISING! Very DISAPPOINTED with my service. I purchased the Living Social coupon for a Swedish massage with hot stone massage, reflexology, exfoliation, and aromatherapy. What I received, and the therapist agreed, was not what was advertised. Using 2 hot stones stroked up and down a couple times on my back does not constitute a hot stone massage, nor does rubbing oil on my feet for a minute constitute reflexology, and there certainly was no exfoliation. If you are going to advertise a product, then deliver it as indicated. So BUYER BEWARE! My chances of ever returning to this facility are slim to none!

Only 46 mins instead of an hour. No a good massage at all. Therapist no focused on that. ThE place is new. Excellent conditions. At the end they say in Groupon only 25 dollars but they force you to leave gratuities which go from 10 to 20 so at the end you got a poor massage for 35 to 45 dollars.

This place is GARBAGE.This massage parlor sells discounted priced massages and then proceed to try and schedule you out over a full week and inconvience you because you are not a ful l price paying customer. Not worth the hassle. Not worth giving them your hard earned money. Groupon has plenty of other deals posted - just keep looking. I went there and saw Meagan for a microdermabrasion and she was absolutely hands down FANTASTIC!! (Mind you I am typing this as I walk to my car because I am THAT impressed).. I had a 45 minute REIKI THERAPY session with Mary and for someone who has background knowledge in metaphysics I am 100% whole heartedly impressed and satisfied. Mary is very sweet and informative she makes sure that you know exactly what is going on and how to completely understand it. The session was very relaxing and eye opening. Now mind you I havent dug deep into my background (if at all) with Mary prior to the session, but afterwards it felt like she knew me more than me. I struggle with active thoughts, a closed heart and other things and Mary picked up on all of that. Not only did she make aware of those things she also gave guidance on how to *balance* those attributes. She even brings light to where you soar the most. I am totally impressed and believe this is something anyone should do at least once. You seem to know yourself more and get more *in tuned* afterwards. I felt a physical weight lift from my shoulders, mind and heart. Definitely will be seeing Mary again.
