We had a good time. It was a unique experience. There was limited information in the advertisement so wasn’t sure what to expect. It turned out to be more of a stage show. Story telling of scary stories. The performers did a great job! The drinks were very fun! They were themed to match the story. They were served to you at your seat. The only thing that would have made it better is having a small table to sit our drinks on.
Cuban club was very important to the Cuban immigrants that came over started in 1885 to work in the cigar factories. In the basement they had a medical clinic (the membership dues were used to pay for this). This is also where they would get married (not at a church) as well as social gatherings. Note that this blonde brick (more expensive than the Afro-Cuban red brick club) Cuban club only allowed WHITE Cubans, black Cubans had to build their own separate club due to segregation!!! This was a surprise to the Cubans when they first arrived in America. They also had a pool in the basement which has since been covered after a boy drowned in 1924.
We really enjoyed our experience when We attended the Allen Poe Speakeasy. It was amazing! We then attended the haunted club the next month on the bottom floor and though the show and cocktails were great, there was no A/C just 1 fan. It was stuffy and humid. Very uncomfortable. Find out what room the event is in prior to attending and if there is A/C is my advice. Otherwise love this place and what they offer.
Kind staff and pretty nice outside venue! Nothing too extravagant but definitely a piece of Tampa :) More Trash/Litter regulations would be nice considering it’s outside and the amount of litter after the concerts can get ridiculous sometimes. They offer EV Parking in the nearby parking lot—overall a great place, especially during colder weather.
Saw the WMNF Tropical Heatwave concert here. Great venue for such an event w/parking across the street
Went for a ghost tour, such a beautiful place full of history!
Love the nostalgia here and the history that this local landmark evokes. Currently my only drawback is the sole antiquated elevator that services the building.
IB Senior banquet fo Alonso HS. Buffet was very good. Nice facility.
Great venue for a musical event such as the WMNF Community Radio sponsored event The Tropical Heatwave!
I discovered this place during the Disney, not on-ice *production*. It was definitely not My thing. The people behind Me were particularly annoying and way louder than needed, to the point I left. Also, making fun of Kate Spade is in really poor taste. The building itself is fascinating.
A nostalgic slice of Tampa history, the Cuban Club is still vibrant and currently active in the Ybor community! With 4 floors but one elevator, you may want to be prepared to use the stairs. Parking shouldnt be a problem, though; its located just east of a city parking garage.
Went to a show last night and for no reason one of the security staff was harassing me . I actually had to find head of security and ask why I was being singled out and being harassed.? I will file a formal complaint. I’d like know who is in charge of the hiring of security. I’ve actually worked in the industry of clubs and security. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this venue. I actually felt like was in danger and did not enjoy my show. I would give this a no star if I can
Unfortunately I wasnt able to stop in there. It looks like theyre doing some sort of restoration, or I hope thats what it is at least! Stop by the Ybor City information center to get the full gist of how culturally significant this building was. Back during the founding of Ybor City, this was where the Cuban immigrants would gather for various events. There are other clubs as well. Theres an Italian one, I believe a German one, and maybe an Austrian one? All of them serve a similar purpose. But I really recommend stopping by the information center and watching their little 5-minute or so video. Its quite interesting to see where the first Cubans immigrated to in the United States at the turn of the 20th century. If you take the time and understand just how historically important Ybor City is, youll really learn to appreciate it.
Once inside, the place was fine. I went for an event in one of their rentals halls so my review is limited to that. It was not obvious from my driving approach that The Cuban Club had parking so I spent many frustrating minutes trying to find parking. When I found the parking lot for the Club there was no signage for entrance as the parking is adjacent to the working back end . Thankfully staff walked out to dispose of garbage and offered direction because the other guests in the parking lot were equally clueless. The meal was delicious - I assume catered by The Cuban Club. As I said, once inside, all was well. If you plan to host an event here I strongly suggest you have attendants outside the obvious front ( no parking) and the parking lot back entrance to offer visitors help or put signage.
Massive respect for hosting the best comedians of our time. Please patronize the Cuban Club, for whatever event they host that you are even slightly interested in witnessing. Please thank them for everyone who isn’t a local and at least buy a drink from their bar as a thank you for those who couldn’t visit. The Cuban Club is a bright spot in Ybor that you must save as a favorite in Google Maps. :)
Went to Tropical Heatwave! Awesome place to host a music festival!
Great place to rent for events, weddings, rent all or part of this historic venue. Theatre, ballroom, beautiful second floor area with bar , plenty of room. Ask about Parking area
Attended the Pirates and Rum Experience, super fun!! The architecture of the building was very cool. Found the little parking lot right behind and avoided the Ybor event that was happening just a few blocks away. Restrooms were very clean and well maintained.
My husband and I went to the Haunted Tavern event at the Cuban Club had a great time! The stories were creepy and fun, the atmosphere brought the experience to life, and the artists were amazing! We really enjoyed ourselves!
It was a lunch destination for high school seniors as we were taking them out to check out different jobs in the community.
Fantastic venue, beautiful architecture, great service
So much history in this building. From hauntings to all kinds of shows the place is a lot of fun.
Huge shout out to Tiffany. We were exploring a venue for a large banquet, and Tiffany was exceptionally helpful in providing timely information so that we could make informed decisions. She is super personable, relaxed, knowledgeable, and accommodating to our needs. Her responsiveness on emails, phone calls, and text messages was outstanding. Shes truly a great resource! Highly recommend working with her for your upcoming event! : )
Authentic historical building that can still be rented for eventsThe history of the building tells the story of the Ybor people and was in use for a social club and then services for the communityClub, indoor swimming pool, Barber shop, bowling alley, gym, theater etc.Modern days it can be viewed during a historical tour, and as stated before rented for events. Area for dancing, dining and kitchen. We visited for a tour and enjoyed it.
Went for a concert and have never seen a venue so under prepared. Got in line 30 mins after doors opened and it took a full hour from there to get in. Completely missed the opening act. The concert itself had to be interrupted 6 times so the artist could guide medical staff to various emergencies, this was due to the fact that the venue didnt have enough security staff to monitor the situations from the ground. Overall, a complete mess of a show.If you are an artist/promoter/booking agent, AVOID
Ghosts you will feel them
Had a private themed party event for 100 people in the cantina. Venue was perfect, and the staff (Tiffany and Lazarus in particular) were amazing. Very friendly, easy to work with, and went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best event possible.
As a wedding venue its mixed. They are in the process of remodeling from some severe water damage. There was no water or kitchen available downstairs for the catering staff, but they worked it out. The ballroom upstairs is very beautiful and perfectly suited the amount of guests for a wonderful sit down buffet dinner and dancing. The historic property has beautiful inlaid floors and frescos that give it character like nowhere else.
Amazing place with a great history!!
Awesome event with dab fest
Visited this as part of the Ybor City Ghost tours. Beautiful building on the inside and out with an incredible history. Apparently one if the most haunted buildings in the US. Fidnt see any ghosts but enjoyed touring the building
Terrible management. Not accommodating at all, no people skills. Attended a wedding here: the room was 58 degrees.. everyone was shivering, teeth chattering. We were told Once you start dancing you will warm up The food was cold as well, only one Sterno lit on the entire buffet.. which the wait staff and managers failed to cater too. Save your time and money.. book elsewhere. The place is also haunted so they say. Stay away!
Had my homecoming here! It was a great experience in a historic building. Not only that, but the interior is beautiful!
Such an awesome building and venue. The staff is also wonderful.
Was there for Tampa Pride nice building, huge place. Security and staff were pleasant. Didnt try out any of the drinks or food.
Had our first opportunity to style and coordinate an event at The Cuban Club during the Tie The Knot Ybor event this past August. What a beautiful venue and so unique! If you are looking for a beautiful building with some history, this is the place. The staff are amazing to work with as well!
First, I attended here for a concert, not for an event that is more typical at the Cuban Club. Knowing that this an was an outlier event, it was not a great venue for a concert. The concert capacity was the size of The Fairgrounds Amphitheater, with the staff, resources and space of The Ritz Ybor. Calling this The Patio is generous, as this is a fence enclosed, black top parking lot for the Cuban Club. The line to get into the venue was chaotic, disorganized and inefficient. It went down the street, wrapped around HCC, spiraled into and out of the HCC courtyard, and back out, splitting off in different places. Inside, on the blacktop parking lot- turned concert venue, the lines to buy merch and get a drink didnt need very many people before they intermingled with the crowd. Portapotties for restrooms. No other options. Security/Staff were poorly placed and primarily absent between the stage and the crowd, which was a real issue with people passing out. They needing to be carried out of the crowd. At least 10 pass outs required the concert to pause and it took several minutes for someone to reach the person. No shaded areas, no industrial fans, no water stations, no traditional bathroom structures, no line security/staffing, and no staffing in areas needed the most on a traditional hot and humid Florida evening: the front of the stage. The sound tent was 20 ft, center from the stage. This was a problem bc it restricted an area best to see the show, and because it was surrounded by barriers, that people were allowed to sit on top of, which made it even more difficult to see the show. Im not here to bash the Cuban Club, bc Im sure they worked very hard at this show, however, there are a lot of opportunities to improve upon for future concerts/events of this size in the future.
My experience was amazing. Im in 6the grade and went on a field trip to Ybor. We had met a worker inside Mr.Jimenez who was extremely helpful polite and knowledgeabl about the history of the building and made it extremely interesting I want to go back and learn more from him, when I have more time. It was a great experience because he made it the way it was.
This place is amazing. Love the environment. Very well organized events i have attended never had an issue with staff or customers. Highly recommended for party location and events planning.
Such a cool experience! Great cocktails, atmosphere and stories!
Nice venue for outdoor activities, for and old ectructure it has been well kept and organized. Aditional theres a huge parking lot close to this club. But needs more bars resrooms and staff. Great place to hosting outdoor parties.
Do NOT buy any tickets to any events here or plan to go to ANYTHING hosted by this place. They will do their best to make any and every excuse to cancel the event, and if it isnt canceled, they will make sure that it is horrible. Very poor service, I hope this place shuts down. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.
Attended an art show. Great venue. Beautiful architecture.
A great contribution to our community
We came here for a Pirates, Ghosts, and Rum experience. It was pretty cool. The venue is nice.
Canceling a fest a week before it’s been scheduled when it’s been A YEAR since it was first announced to be held displays the poor management and incompetence. This could have easily cost people hundreds of dollars who have flown in and drove out of state if The Orpheum didn’t step up to the plate to host the event. I can’t support this business!
A great and historic building located in Ybor City. The top floor has a huge ballroom that offers great views of the area. Can be rented out for events. Built in 1917.
I went for Tabernacle of Oddities. The building is beautiful and had a lot of that old time charm to it.
The worst place to see the best bands Ive been twice in one month, both excellent shows if only they didnt run out of almost anything to drink!! No Water!! No Coke, sprite, and ginger ale. Only had TWO kegs of beer for over 2000 people!! (which was gone before the third band was even on stage) What kind of management thought that was a good idea? Bathroom (Port-o-johns) were Disgusting and 1/2 hour lines to get to them. If you are going to have a Large venue it should be stocked appropriately and with Experienced staff!!! I suggest going to Jannus instead.
Best place for an event
I agree completely with the previous review ! This is a beautiful place however the people running it are incompetent , rude, and have zero people skills !!! I had a quince here and management went against everything my contract stated including charging me double my balance. They shut the party down at 10:30 pm (contract stated midnight) and they stood and watched with arms crossed dressed in jeans and t-shirts the entire night .My guests felt very uncomfortable and commented on this several times to this day. They also promised parking in front and 10 people were ticketed for illegal parking. I would probably give them another chance if they would consider firing Frank Diaz and Gladys Garcia ,however the electrical issues concern me. I saw several wires hanging from electrical sockets. Not a comforting sight. I second that about the bathrooms. The entire ballroom is dingy and dirty and the bathrooms are worse! Please consider another venue because you wont re-book after your experience here.
The Ballroom is beautiful for large events. And 1st floor is super cool for a smaller event. Ive been there for a few events.
Beautiful historic building. Expressive stage and theater.
Ive been here several times for Events, always discovering something I hadnt seen before!!!Would love to take a walk through, without crowds all around.
Amazing venue, went for the Oddities Fest and it was incredible!
When I used to study at HCC Ybor on my gap between classes I went to the Cuban Club, this was back in the day when you did not need an appointment to go in. Wow it is haunted plenty of history also. Felt something touch me when I was in the basement downstairs where the ATM machine is.
Nice historical building
Had a blast at the Repeal Day Gala!!!!!!!!? Sooooooo, good. Cocktails coming straight out the wazoo. Like you wouldnt believe. Out the wazoo. Like lava. And burlesque. They mostly aint got clothes on. Oooooeee.
Another of the extraordinary buildings at Ybor City from the time when the cigar industry was the most important industry in the State of Florida, and the owners and workers had build a such unique society. The Clubs were the center of their activities besides the work. This building is a representation of how the cigar workers view their social life and enjoyed their time outside the factories. The art and architecture design of the building are historical jewels you need to enjoy today.
Photo is from the top of the Cuban Club.Great place. You can have a play, a weddingBar mitzvah. Three music venues inside,a lovely outdoors concert venue. Plus the ambiance of history.
Great Edgar Allen Poe telling. A lot of fun and great staff.
Saw Black Flag there twice in the mid 80s. Mind bending shows like watching a punk King Crimson
Beautiful building. Extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Had a corporate event and they were incredibly helpful with all of our needs. I will definitely use the Cuban Club for future Tampa events.
They give u the best tour and historical about this place I went here a year ago and you definitely do find very interesting places
Visited the Cuban Club as part of the Ybor City historic walking tour. Beautiful architecture and design. Recognized as the fourth most haunted place in the nation!
Very old place not comfortable at all, it smell old too, if you want a rent for your party you can find better options but for sure no this one.
Did the ghost tour here and it was amazing! Our tour guide was excellent! Had a great time!
Its a beautiful and nice Place to have a 🎂 birthday bash. I enjoy the place.
Did a wrestling gig here for wrestlemania weekend. Nice place to be. And they comped the meters for parking
The blonde dude with the moustache was awesome, worth the price
This is a great place to enjoy various bands and concerts, also is believed to be haunted.
One of the more run down places Ive been to in ybor. However, they do manage to book good acts. Just an average place overall.
Did the ghost stories and the walking ghost tour here. Beautiful architecture and fascinating history.
Food is good. The building is wonderful. Historical area. Meet a lot of interesting people, in passing. Dont go alone.
Very fun interesting unique event!
Went here for a concert. Had a great time! Very unique place
Shane Downs is excited to have the opportunity to run Murder House, Tampas Scariest Haunt in the Reportedly Haunted Cuban Club!I am excited for the opportunity to run a Halloween Event at a location with so much paranormal activity! Please support small business and come out to the Big Cat Rescue ScareFestival!
Beautiful building with so much history and beautiful ambiance.
The Cuban club is an older building, and not very convenient for the disabled. The front entrance has a staircase just to get in, and lots of stairs inside the 4 story building. I found 1 very slow elevator. And their location in Ybor City is very difficult for parking . If you dont get to your event early, you circle the area for a long time finding a parking space, then you have to walk a long way.
I was taken back by such a unique venue hope there are more shows I can go to o drove from Jacksonville and was quite happy
What a great space.
Just went to a wedding there last weekend. Its a charming old building with tons of character.
A nice little place in the heart of Ybor with good food, drinks, games, and a care-free atmosphere.
Insane Halloween Bash. Spending time w Great friends n cool strangers. A must hangout on this holiday. Thanks Tampa.... Be back soon
Glory from former days. Still, Tampa City Ballet will perform and create an event to take part in.
A little crusty, a little musty, a little dusty. It kind of looks like its crumbling apart on the 3rd floor.
Such a cool old place , interesting history ..even as a native of Tampa some things I didnt know about it
Toured as part of ghost tour. Was the highlight in my opinion.
This is a beautiful historical building with a spooky history.
Awesome venue it was a blast doing shipwrecked music festival here
Fabulous venue. Historic. Great entertainment
Really cool place. I heard its haunted too so that a plus.
Beautiful historic building..met Jill Stein here...also small concert hall.
Great outside set up for concerts. Bar inside with many great selections to accommodate guests.
The Cuban club is known as one of the most haunted places in America and both Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures have been here to investigate. Love the thought of seeing a ghost
Great place for a small venue, restrooms could be better maintained but overall great place to be.
Really neat place. We were on a tour and found out so much about the building.
Had a amazing time.Would do it again .

Went there for the Ybor ghost tour. Great historical site!
Surprisingly nice venue for an outdoor concert. I was unaware of this place until recently.
I was in The Cuban Club while looking for Ghosts on the Ybor City Ghost Tour. If haunted buildings and ghosts are your thing this place to just the bees knees. 😁
Other than being slightly disorganized when it comes to entrances and advertising, beautiful place with great acoustics!
Parking is always a challenge and there isnt a bathroom on every floor
Worst concert venue I’ve ever been to.
Very spacious and inviting. Great place for hosting parties
