I was gifted massage and I must say it was one of the best gifts I have received. The scheduling online was easy and convenient. Once in the salon I was politely greeted and checked in. My masseuse was Jamie and she was amazing! I felt very comfortable and at ease. She took special attention to my problem areas and I walked away feeling great. I had such a good experience I bought myself a membership!! I am looking forward to using it!

Had an appointment scheduled for over two weeks. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. Only to be notified two hours prior that my appointment was canceled. Because the assigned worker call in. They had zero back up plan for employee absences. Just call the customer and screw them. Also, how convenient the employee calls in on a holiday weekend. I do not recommend this place, zero work ethic from employees and no professionalism whatsoever. Do not go! Save your money.

After being a client of massage envy for many years. I decided to change to a massage therapist with many years of experience. I canceled my membership and had two credits to use. Massage envy canceled my appointment a couple of weeks ago because the staff was a no show. I was scheduled for this weekend to use my credits but was told that I was passed my date. Massage Envy cottonwood location has no integrity and poor customer service. They can’t keep staff - revolving door of therapist.

This was a gift from my husband. Although the massage therapist was VERY kind, she talked and talked the ENTIRE time. Making it SO hard to relax and enjoy the message. I feel bad saying this but thats NOT why you go to a message just to visit. You need a quiet atmosphere, to just let go. Sweet lady but a message is NOT about getting to know each other.

I tried to schedule an appointment for my daughter, and the person who “helped” me over the phone (Derona) made it VERY difficult. It is clear that this woman lacks empathy and could care less about her clients. I tried to get my daughter set up with an appointment with a female masseuse (as she has had prior trauma with males in her life) and she basically said “we can’t do that, you get who get.” Very unprofessional. Derona is okay with placing young women/girls in vulnerable situations. She was very rude and condescending on the phone. Because of Derona, I will be taking my business elsewhere (somewhere where the employees are understating and can grant a simple request) and suggest you all do the same.

Derona is the biggest loser i have ever met in my entire life. if you are a woman, do NOT trust this location. they will trigger you and not give a second thought about taking your money. i explained that i was uncomfortable with being touched by a man and she told me that that “sucked” and that she would charge me anyways. i explained that that was unfair given my situation and i was unaware that i was booked with a man. i expressed that i was okay with changing the appointment to a later date or seeing a woman instead. she proceeded to say she would call my mom (i am 19, why are you calling my mom?) which is incredibly unprofessional and evil in my opinion. clearly she is unable to communicate with people in a respectful manner. i called the location in rio rancho and was met with the kindest young woman who helped me book an appointment with a woman there. i think that in a profession where you are as intimate as massage, it is important to have empathy. this is something that derona lacks completely. i think she is am embarrassment to the company. when you have someone who isn’t afraid to be vile, reckless, arrogant, and selfish towards clients, running your company it definitely reduces the retention rate at certain locations. i’ve already made sure to warn all my friends and clients. if i hadn’t met with the woman in rio rancho i would change my business entirely. i asked to speak with the manager, and she looked sinister when she told me she was the manager. almost happy to be the one to tear me down after i was already sobbing in the waiting room. completely wrong and evil of derona to be put in a position to make decisions in a facility that’s meant to better the wellness of clients, only to have said clients leaving shaking and crying.

My mother graciously presented my girlfriend and me with a thoughtful gift: a massage experience to celebrate our birthdays. Subsequently, we decided to indulge in a couples massage, an endeavor that left us thoroughly enchanted with the service provided. So much so, in fact, that we made the decision to become members. However, during the membership registration process, an unfortunate incident occurred involving the front desk assistant, who happened to be the manager.Regrettably, due to a technical glitch, our card was charged twice. This was not the fault of the aforementioned manager, but rather an unintended outcome of the system error. As a result, we found ourselves inadvertently double-charged, a situation we only discovered later in the week.Our enthusiasm for the couples massage experience prompted us to schedule another appointment, which we took care to confirm via a text message notification a day or two in advance. However, an unexpected setback transpired a mere 40 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment at Massage Envy. It was conveyed to my girlfriend that her massage therapist had fallen ill and would not be available. In light of this, the suggestion to reschedule was made.However, a perplexing distinction was drawn by the associate: my girlfriends massage could be rescheduled, while mine could not. This discrepancy arose due to the need to compensate my therapist, despite the fact that we had originally booked a couples massage, not two separate individual sessions. This situation was compounded by the fact that, according to their policy, clients must cancel appointments 24 hours in advance to avoid charges. We acquiesced to rescheduling our couples massage for a later date, only to find that my massage credit for the month had been depleted and I had been billed for the rescheduled massage.Regrettably, these events have raised concerns regarding the business practices at Massage Envy. It is our belief that they should have extended the courtesy of rescheduling the couples massage without imposing charges, especially given the unforeseen circumstances surrounding their ill therapist. Furthermore, the issue of double charges for our memberships has persisted for an extended period, now spanning eight weeks, without resolution. Additionally, it has been three weeks since we were charged for the rescheduled massage, which we view as an unfair imposition. We earnestly request that these matters be promptly addressed and rectified.

Friendly staff. Massage was alright. My back feels like it hurts even more now after the massage. I also asked for a firm and deep tissue massage but it was pretty light. $215 dollars for a 90 minute message that didn’t seem to help was definitely not worth it. I won’t be coming back.

This business model seems to be built on making few therapists available and charging members’ credit cards every month for services they can’t book. Thursday—no availability. Friday—no availability. Saturday—no availability.If you have a busy schedule and can’t schedule a massage a month in advance, I’d be careful here. I’ve got ten massages sitting in my account that I’ll probably never be able to use unless I know I’ll be available at a certain hour on a certain day four weeks from now. Members can’t close their accounts without forfeiting all services in account. So that’s about $400 M.E. gets to keep without having provided a service.I guess it’s a brilliant business model if you’re Massage Envy. Not so much if you’re a customer who gets caught in this revolving door.

My husband and I went to our first massage session, it was amazing! The massage wasnt to hard to where your in extreme pain at least for me. Very relaxing, and relaxed the rest of the day and slept wonderful! My therapist was Brandon and my husbands was Caitlyn. Both very good, great experience all around! As much as Id like to go often I didnt do the membership because I cannot commit or justify spending the money if Im not 100% sure I would take full use of it, but any how we will be back! Thank you!

I booked and paid for 90 minute massage treatment. I was taken back at 4:10, massage started at 4:15 and ended at 5:23? I listed that when I received my follow-up survey via email afterwords. And then received a follow-up call and was told that I paid for a 90 minute session and not a 90 minute massage.I was advised the session includes time to undress redress and consult with your therapist. However as soon as my massage was done the next client was already there waiting for their booked appointment.This is not normal practice for a massage studio as any other massage studio I have been to gives you a massage for the time paid.The staff is friendly however corporate is very deceitful with regards to their advertising practices. I wish I wouldve read the reviews before I committed to a year membership. Class-action lawsuit?

Years prior I had one of the worst massages of my life at a different location and never returned. However, this year I was given a gift card for a 60 minute facial and massage. Yesterday I went to redeem my facial and although relaxing, my esthetician started late and ended early. With a cancellation policy intact I would think it’s a matter of valuing time, but that is just not the case.

Me and my husband have had a membership here for years and it’s convenient when you have busy lives and work allot. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is first they charge you a $10.00 transfer fee when you want to gift a one hour massage to someone. Second you can only gift once a month. Third you can’t gift the same person with in a six month time frame. Last is if you cancel your membership you lose all the months you have pre paid. So many rules, hidden fees and not convenient.

I had an appt scheduled and they took me off the schedule without calling to even inform me i no longer had an appt. the Asst manager Derona was very unprofessional. The front desk clerk scheduled my appt 12/26 and remembered making my appt for 1/18. This would have been my first appt as a member. The asst manager stated I should have known that they do calls the day before to confirm. I reminded her it was my first appt as a member and I wouldn’t have known that. She stated that I should have known that.The person that was suppose to perform the massage extended his trip out of town. Week prior and they just removed me without notice.A mail massage therapist walked into the lobby and said “lady, it’s just a massage”. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I do not recommend them. I will never return.

I honestly do regularly have a great experience here, but this last visit was different. I had a massage in the first room on the right; I could hear people talking the entire hour. I dont know if that room is near the break room or what, but it was constant background noise.I also have gotten attitude over the phone when I said that I never received a confirmation call. They said they called and left a message in a snotty tone; they had the completely wrong number for me and hadnt asked about it until this last visit.Lisa and Mel give amazing massages however, and I would recommend them.

I’ve been to many massage envy locations over the past 3 years and this one is by far my favorite. It’s worth the 30 minute drive from the south side of town.Celena was my MT today and gave me the best massage experience I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot!) highly recommend her and this location.

Massages were generally good. My card was charged $200 for missed payments in the middle of my payment cycle... which is understandable. I was up for cancelation, but while I was filling out the cancelation form another monthly charge was attempted. When I called they said they need ten days notice and wont cancel until all payments are up to date. So I am unable to cancel or use any of my massage credits still on my account. Im sure its all in the agreement signed, but very frustrating. Ive used massage envy on and off for years. It was unfortunate the account specialist was able to help me out here. Just be careful what you sign and be sure to plan out your cancelation date way in advance. Wont be going back or suggesting ME to anyone. There are a lot of great local non chain therapists out there.

My husband and I have been members for a couple of years now. At first I was reluctant to get into a contract but then decided to give it a try. Glad we did as we have found a few therapists there that we love. Its a great value and I would recommend it to anyone. We travel for business and can use our membership at ANY Massage Envy which I really like that.Ive seen complaints about massage time. Its 5 mins on either end. They take you back at your scheduled time and end about 5 mins before end time do you can get dressed. If you know your therapist and you get undressed quickly they know that too. Besides...Considering the price I would say its still the best deal around and I can get in same day for my chronic pain issues almost every time.

This place is a rip off! The $10.00 aromatherapy upgrade consist of 6 drops of scented oil in your massage lotion! .. Any decent spa includes aromatherapy as part of any massage (I have been to several others)..

Booked a date and time for my wife and I. Got a call the morning of saying they could not do our massage. Apparently an employee called in sick. Couldnt tell you if the massage is any good because this was my first experience. This was a bummer because we had scheduled babysitting for a relaxing evening we never got to enjoy.

Have been coming here for a few years with my husband.. front office ladies are always very sweet, kind and helpful.Had a facial with Kelly for the first time and she was so wonderful. One of the best I’ve ever had. Selfishly hate to share this information as it could potentially book her up, but she deserves it if it does!Always look forward to coming here- no matter which service is being rendered. ps. this location is my favorite of all in ABQ. :-)

Went get a massage and went a few minutes late for my appointment. I called them to let them know this. I walked in and the young lady wouldnt take me. I asked to reschedule. This massage was fully paid for in advance. She said if I wanted to reschedule, I would have to pay again. I asked for my money back and she said she couldnt refund my money, according to company policy. I told her that wasnt nice. She tilted her head to the side and just stared at me. I asked for the manager and she stated that she was the manager with a nasty smirk. I will NEVER, EVER go to Massge Envy again.

Massages are great but DO NOT opt into a Membership! Massages ALWAYS cost more than what your monthly membership deduction is. Lots of fine print on services, and you still end up paying out the wazoo even with a membership not to mention their last minute cancellations.

I have been a massage envy member for over a year and a half. I joined when I lived in NM, had a horrible experience, to the point of needing cortisone shots in my shoulder from the damage of a massage I received. Then moved to AZ. I was going to cancel the member ship but had an AMAZING masseuse there. I just now moved back from AZ to NM and went to the Rio Rancho location, to give it a try. Jason was my masseuse. I have now cancelled my membership as of today. This was the worse massage I have had. I am literally in more pain than I was when I walked in. I said less pressure and got more. I asked to focus on my lower back... which barely got touched. My feet got more attention than my lower back. Horrible. Horrible horrible. I will find somewhere else in this town. Obviously this city’s massage envy can not provide massage talent. I do NOT recommend this location OR the one at Rio Rancho.

I love my massages here but am upset about your “don’t ask don’t tell” Covid policy. Please explain your position and policy an your employees being vaccinated. I hate to push hard on this but when I’m in a small room with an unvaccinated masseuse, I’m not comfortable with that.When I asked my last masseuse if she was vaccinated, she refused to tell me which basically tells me she was not vaccinated. And she wasn’t wearing a mask altho she offered to put one on after I questioned her.This lack of policy is unacceptable to me. I may be forced to end my membership as may others if this isn’t resolved. I’m not comfortable in a small enclosed room with an unvaccinated person. I would think this would be a huge legal liability for your business. Pretending this is not an issue is probably not going to end well.

He also gives me some techniques that will help me with my pain that I have in my back. Requested an appointment online. Received a call the same day I sent in the request. The scheduling was a little adventure from: I dont have any more appointments requested on Saturday. without an offer for another day. I initiate the conversation about another time or day, which was greeted with an alternative time, then the I cant put another non-member there. We settled on a time, time to give a card to reserve the time - gave me CC numbers, which I was greeted with, Oh my machine just shut down. Is that [financial institution]s card?? Yeah, my machine doesnt like those cards. Placed me on hold, comes back on and says yeah Im going to need a CC to hold your appt. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Its not my issue that your facility doesnt accept my card or doesnt have a system when this does happen.. . . Never again.

The manager at this location is awful, the girls at the front desk dont know how fix my membership issues. I cant even begin to express how sneaky they are when you sign up for a membership, so many hidden fees and they dont tell you its for a year! Very poorly managed! When I spoke to the manager about my experience with this location, she basically said there was nothing she could do. I felt completely neglected. Its time for changes there and they dont care to make them, they only care about taking your money. I DO NOT recommend going to this location unless you wanna be out $1000+ dollars. I really hope corporate or the owner sees this and contacts me!
