I came in for a prenatal massage and saw Michael. This was without doubt the best massage I have ever received prenatal or otherwise. I am very impressed, very happy and absolutely will be returning specifically to see him again. This is the first time during a massage I felt like I could describe someone as having healing hands.
If I could give zero stars, I would. The customer service was anything but pleasant. I went in with my mom for a late Mother’s Day outing, and I was informed after a few minutes that my massage therapist was stuck in traffic. No solution was actually offered, and I had to ask if that meant my appointment would be extended by the amount of time they were running behind, and I got a very flat yes - as if I was the one inconveniencing them for even asking. My mom was called back for her appointment, and no less than five minutes later, I am told my 10 AM appointment will need to be rescheduled as the massage therapist would be half an hour late. I asked if they could reschedule both my mom and I, but there was no availability, and the receptionist was not kind in relaying this message. She seemed annoyed that I even asked, once again. I explained that I didn’t want to sit for an hour for my mom just as she wouldn’t want to do the same for me (she flew in from out of state, so we weren’t trying to spend time separately in this way). I called my mom as she was already back, and the therapist hadn’t even entered the room for her yet. The receptionist told me that she would need to call her manager as there could be a fee since my mom was already called back. I let her know that we would not be paying a penny, which would make sense considering that not a single part of the service had even begun. The receptionist called her manager, got off the phone, and remained silent. I had to then ask her if everything ran smoothly, to which I got a flat yes.Do better. Being kind is free, which I was until I was treated like an inconvenience for even being there. It certainly doesn’t make for a “therapeutic environment.”
Blake is a true healer. Since seeing Blake for massage, my daily pain has gone from an 8 to a 4. She provides a safe and welcoming space, and I always leave feeling better.
I’ve only had the membership for 6 months, and I use the membership for one massage per month. During the 6 months, I have already had 3 massage appointments cancelled by Massage Envy - Ann Arbor after I arrived in the parking lot for the appointment. The most recent occurrence was only a day after I was asked to change the time of the original appointment to accommodate the therapist’s schedule, so I made the needed adjustments to my schedule to attend the appointment. Given clients have to pay for last minute appointment cancellations in consideration of the therapists’ time, you would expect that Massage Envy would be equally considerate of their clients’ time.Since I am putting forth the effort to write the review, I will also mention that the quality of the massages (if you are looking for firm or deep tissue) at the Ann Arbor location are nothing to write home about. They do have one very good therapist who is on a very limited schedule, but the other ones are mediocre at best.I plan to find other locations to use up the rest of this membership and then will be done with Massage Envy.
Enjoying this place is contingent on who is working. The challenge I see is they are trying to rally new customers in while recruiting. Their balance is close, service on average is wonderful and they need a plan when the customer is impacted by conflicts. They are young and do not quite understand the ramifications. So I do hope they can figure this part out sooner rather than later. I am asking customers and employees to leave suggestions for your management group. I know they are working hard. We all need a little more patience and balance of service delivered. An honest thought here. The service for me means a lot in my life. Self care is really important. This place fits me. I hope it fits for you too.
Updated Review from 1 star to 4.5!The owner was extremely responsive and offered a complimentary service with a provided that aligned more with my needs. I went today and had an amazing service from Jennifer! She was able to help address the muscle work I needed and I really appreciated the customer service from the management.Thanks!!!Extremely disappointing service. Added an exfoliating treatment that felt like 3 grains of salt. Added aromatherapy that wasn’t at all used after the first 3 inhales. Pressure was extremely low despite my request for very firm. Also did not at all feel like a full 80 minutes. Such a disappointing experience that I scheduled another massage with a different therapist to give them another chance …. After thinking about what an absolutely bad service for the $175 price tag, I called and canceled the appointment immediately.Did not relieve any muscle tension or provide any stress relief at all.
The staff was all super nice and the front desk was very helpful in answering my questions. The wait wasnt too long and the place was very tidy. Jennifer did such a good job on my massage, looking forward to my next visit!

Very friendly front desk and therapists. My therapist was very intentional about treating my specific issues. My wifes was pretty lame-just lightly rubbing down length of arm or leg with forearm. So its tough to say if youll get a good massage or not, unfortunately
Ive never had such a terrible massage envy experience. 5 years a loyal member with massage envy and i wont step foot into this location anymore. New staff every time you walk in, you can tell it is from crooked management that take 0 accountability when actual problems arise leaving the new staff to the wolves. If you need to cancel be sure you do it exactly 24 hours before your appointment. Otherwise they will charge you half. Even if when they call to confirm its under the 24 hour window. never has been the policy at any other ME location. Ive been to several across the country. Blake is the only good therapist in the building.
This franchise has young, inexperienced staff with lots to sell and poor execution. I tried to get a 90-minute massage six weeks ago, but even after arriving early, I got checked in incorrectly, and 10 minutes later, when they realized it, I couldnt get the massage because the therapist wouldnt stay 10 minutes later. (There were no appointments after me, she just wouldnt stay.) Yesterday, after checking in (and being offered at least three upsell options), I only got a 70-minute massage. I questioned it when checking out and learned that a 90-minute massage is just 80 minutes hands-on because they allow five minutes to undress and dress. I entered the room at 1:33, and the massage was complete at 2:44. I should have challenged it further but didnt have the chance because the agent tried to cross-sell so many additional items! I just wanted to leave. Looking at the bill today, Im so disappointed that I needed to write this review.
The front desk personal have attitudes, the appointments are 45 minutes in length, and you can’t book appointments online.
Friendly staff, theres tea for when youre waiting, Harley at the front desk was helpful and got me checked in fast. My masseuse, Blake, was friendly and the massage was just what I needed, would definitely come back
Massage table heater didn’t work. I was 15 minutes early for my appointment and they took me back late and ended the massage early. Overall massage wasn’t great either. Every time I asked for more pressure they would do it for a couple minutes and then it would go back to soft. Very disappointed
When calling to find out when I could get a massage, the woman said they had time in 30 minutes and preceeded to tell me how this masseuse was one of their best. However, I sat on the table waiting for her to come in for almost 10 minutes, then she gave me a light rub down over the blanket and sheet for 10 minutes, which was awful considering how scratchy the sheets are. Then she gave me a dry rub down on my back for another 10 minutes which again felt terrible, before finally using lotion. The pressure was light and then gradually became deep. She felt like a massage student, rubbing her arm bones over my bones and spine, which again felt terrible. Then she rushed to try and massage the rest of my body which genuinely just felt like she put lotion on my skin. It was neither relaxing nor relieving of my pain. A total waste of my time and money. I was in so much pain coming in and left feeling like I spent $105 for nothing. Id give zero stars if I could.
I was having such extreme shoulder, neck, and back pain! I found this location in Ann Arbor that just opened up in August and I absolutely love it! I now have a regular massage therapist Blake who is the absolute the best for my needs! The CBD Enhancement that they suggested I add to my session completely relaxed me!!! Total game changer!
The service was great and I felt very comfortable since it had been years since I’ve had a massage. Blake was very attentive to my needs and the staff was so welcoming. I’ll definitely be back for another relaxing experience.
Chelsea Blake does such a great job at the Ann Arbor location. She listens really well and tailors your massage accordingly. I highly recommend her!

I drove 45 minutes there and they had me do two check-ins before I could come in the building and then they tell me Blakes not available for my session. They dont care when people are in excruciating pain.
Had an amazing massage by Jennifer this week. She is very kind and considerate, always making sure that I am comfortable and that the pressure is the right amount.

I got a prenatal massage from Jeff. He worked out many of the kinks in my shoulders and was so relaxed I fell asleep.
