We had such a great time! I got my nails and hair done. I did gel on my nails and got my hair cut and styled. Theres also a boutique inside with some cute clothing and purses and stuff. The staff were very professional and kind. I would definitely recommend coming here. Pricing is fair and service is great!

Lori(spelling?) was great! She did a really great job cutting my crazy hair and tried showing me how to curl my hair. Definitely recommend

I had my hair highlighted and cut at Zen salon by Morgan. I got home and there were parts that I didn’t absolutely love, so I contacted Zen and they were able to get me in again within two weeks. They were super nice about me coming back, and I absolutely love my hair the second time! I have notoriously difficult, curly hair so I appreciated their willingness to work with me. I highly recommend Morgan and Zen!

I have gone to Zen salon for almost 2 years. Lori is great! She has a great sense of humor and makes you feel comfortable. You wont find someone who does a better job waxing than Lori. I have gone to Lindsey for nails and hair and she does a fantastic job as well as being very friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone else in the salon has been very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this salon to everyone.

Waited for two months, the person didn’t come to work today because of the weather, but I was not noticed and I had to go because I couldn’t cancel it!I bought a 60-minute massage Groupon deal and scheduled an appointment for today about two months ago because today was the earliest time that they were available at that time. The weather is bad today and I live really far away, but I have to go to Zen salon not only because of the 24 hours cancellation policy, but also because I have waited this appointment for 2 months! When I got there, the girl at the front desk said that the person who does massage for me didn’t come because of the weather! She said the person called me 10 minutes ago, but I checked my phone, there was no missed call at all! It was so funny because even if she did call, I almost arrived at that time and why you call at the last minute? When we talked about rescheduling the appointment, the girl said that the earliest time that works for them after 5:00pm is April. How ironic! Another two months! I will never go there again!

Kat is a GEM. And the owner is really nice too. Hey all of you reading this....I got a really great deal on a pedicure and manicure. Kat was very thorough too. They have an awesome boutique!! Try them out boy I am sure glad I did. 😁

This is a very nice place with individual stylists that rent there own chairs. The owner Lori is awesome and always does a great job with both cut, color and style!!They also have a beautiful boutique inside with lovely clothes at reasonable prices.You definitely want to stop in this Spring!

Deplorable service & fungus. Waited for 30 minutes to be given the worst gel manicure of my life. The stylist had to redo my thumb nail 3 times because it was buckling away from edge. The manicurist told the owner Lori that some of the applications were too old. 10 minutes after I left the salon the other nails pulled away from edge too. I was on my way to airport so could not return. The next day 3 polished fingernails peeled off & more everyday after. Called Zen Salon 5 times asking Lori the owner to call me back. She didnt even have the courtesy to respond or apologize. I have had many gel manicures before which lasted about 2 weeks. Owner Lori has no integrity & faulty supplies. I also now have brown fungus around the edges of my fingernails! Beware & dont go to Zen Salon!

Dont go here for nails. Even with a Groupon or a coupon. Just do not do it. The atmosphere is so weird. I felt so uncomfortable and unclean the whole time. The pedicure was no where near the quality it is at any other salon - the massage was about a minute per foot. My manicure rippled no matter how long I tried to let them dry.

I dont normally write reviews, however, I had a very unprofessional experience. The massage lady was late, looked like she just rolled out of bed and smelled of alcohol. Unfortunately the massage was one of the worst Ive ever gotten. I feel for her because she obviously is hurting inside, but please dont bring it to the work place where you are spreading your negative energy onto others. The bathroom definitely needed some attention. What a bummer.

Had a haircut, wash and style here today. It was a wonderful visit. I recommend Sherri to anyone looking for a good hairstylist, she has a spunky, friendly personality. Shes super knowledgeable and very fast. I will definitely be back.

I have been going so Zen for quite some time, I followed Tina and Jolene there from their previous salon. I LOVE THEM!! Stylists here all rent their own chairs so they are all very experienced and do a great job. The salon is tastefully decorated and very clean. I have had massages there which are fantastic, and I also get bikini waxes there which are very professional and I do not feel uncomfortable. I would definitely recommend this salon. Find the right stylist you want to stick with and you will love it too!

I had to bring in my 3 month old baby girl with me to my appointment and Samantha and the other older lady there were very nice and understanding. Without hesitation they rocked her back and forth in her stroller and talked to her when she was crying. It is so nerve racking to be out in public and getting judged by people when your baby cries but they werent like that at all. Id highly recommend going here. Samantha was fast and efficient.

Got my nails done by Charlie and he is one of the best nail techs I’ve had! Great guy and excellent conversation. He really cares about his clients... which is rare to find! Definitely would recommend! I will be back to get my nails done by Charlie again for sure. He did a wonderful job and was a pleasure to be around. I used a groupon, but would’ve been happy to pay full price for the service I got! Thank you Charlie!!

I had never been to Zen Salon and was hesitant to make an appointment but I have never been more in love with my hair! Markley was so understanding when I didn’t know exactly what I wanted and I could tell she really took her time with the color to make my hair absolutely perfect. She’s amazing! I am new to the area and finding a new salon can be difficult but I am so thankful I went to Zen!

Nicole has a gift. I cant be any more clear or succinct than that. While I go they for facials, she is a born Healer, who shares her energy thrift her fingertips and breaks you from within, touching your spirit, allowing you to feel safe & relaxed at the same time providing you self care.

Do NOT go here for a waxing and have LORI. I have been waxed at multiple other places and this was by far the worst. I wish I could get my money back because it was really horrible.First off you get in the waxing room and are given this very floppy skirt/ towel thing to drape across yourself, then a towel and instructed to put on the skirt and cover up with the towel. I must not have done it correctly because as soon as she was in the room she said oh thats not right and just glared at me.So next we get to the waxing, she seemed already very impatient and almost condescending. She asked me to frog out which I did then put my hands where I was to hold the skin taut, Once she waxed it hurt and I must have moved my hands to then which she scolded me and told me not to move my hands! We get through the waxing and she doesnt clean off any of the wax instead handing me a dirty towel and instructing me to clean it off. Once she left the room I looked at the area and there were a ton of hairs left, sorry for $65 it should have been cleaned up a lot better than that and her bedside manner needs some serious work. Not going back ever and would advise if you want a wax dont go there. Lori is rude and talks down to you when you are getting waxed. The whole experience really makes me mad because I paid good money to get waxed and feel like she did a really shoddy job.

Ive been going to Lori for her waxing services for over 4 years now. She does an amazing job each time and makes you feel comfortable. Shes sociable and cares about her customers. Ill NEVER go anywhere else for a wax! Thank you Zen Salon.

I have only had great experiences at Zen Salon! I have been getting waxes from Lori for over two years and she is always fun, talkative, personal, and is great at what she does! Ive also been in for a few haircuts and colors and every hairstylist I have had has done a wonderful job. I highly recommend Zen Salon to anyone looking for a great haircut/color or wax!

I got a massage from Pam, and it was awesome! She did some amazing work around my shoulder that aches from playing the guitar, and all around she pulled out some nice unique moves. Shes the type of massage therapist who focuses on being in tune with your body, knowing where to put extra attention without even asking you. The other thing I really liked is that she didnt waste much time during the massage--she attempted to utilize as much of my hour as possible to massage me, being quick to replenish lotion, for example.

Tanya gives an amazing Swedish massage! She is professional, applies perfect pressure and gets out all the knots. I also purchased a gift certificate to share the gift of relaxation, health and pampering.The boutique has a great selection of clothing, too.

The owner Lor does amazing job with hair coloring and cutting your hair too.She treats her customers them like a good friend . I will be going back to her again and her saloon is so clean and her clothes that she sells is so beautiful. I brought from her .

She does an amazing job with my hair styling, and I love the highlights and low-lights she does for me! She also waxes and colors my eyebrows. Her facials are wonderful. I even tried the pedicures and gel nails. Love the gel nails!

Super friendly staff! I visited for a massage. The massage studio is clean, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. My therapist was attentive and very professional. Her hands were pretty amazing to these tired old muscles. 😉

I had a HORRIBLE and very stressful experience with Zen Salon regarding my bridal hair and make-up. They asked me to put a deposit down to hold my wedding date before the trial appointment. I was very hesitant to give the deposit without knowing what their services were like. I asked for a receipt and Lori said they would mail it to me and never did. When I went in for my trial I was not impressed. They did a horrible job. My hair looked like I just got done with a motorcycle ride and was nothing like my vision. I politely let them know that I wasnt happy with the finished style and they didnt seem to really care, most likely because it was the end of their work day. I ended up going to another salon who thankfully could fit myself and bridal party in. They are fantastic and a night and day difference than Zen. Lori called me regarding my experience when I cancelled all the appointments and didnt even bother to give the deposit back because I wasnt happy or show any empathy about my poor experience at her salon. Bad customer service and even worse hair skills.

The atmoshpere at Zen salon is friendly and relaxing. The staff there is great and Lori the owner has always done an excellent job for me. That is why I have been going to Lori for over 5 years now. I first started seeing her at her old place of employment and followed her to Zen when she first opened. I have no problems making appointments and the service is excellent. I would strongly recommend Zen to my friends and family.

I struggled with back spasms and tension headache migraines. They were both so painful and I explained to Tania what my issues were. She worked on each area and after a few sessions, the migraines were gone. My back feels amazing too! She worked out knots I didn’t even know I had. I feel like a new woman and I’m so grateful to Tania for that. ❤️I’m going to keep going back to her for maintenance.Tania is also a sweet person. I highly recommend her because she knows what she’s doing, she likes to help people, and her massages have given me a lot of relief from pain.Thank you, Tania!!!

Very unprofessional experience had found coupon on color and cut in mail. Had a the service done and the results were nothing of what I asked for so I went back had service redone the same stylist, had no clue how to fix it so she asked another stylist what to do so we went over it again..... the results are still nothing to what I wanted and the color doesnt even look like the color we decided on to fix it! my highlights are bleeding and uneven non of the color is consistent..... they scan my number when I call hang up without answering! CHILDISH! went in to get a refund cause I wasnt happy and owner said no but she can do your hair again 😂 who in the right mind would let someone do their hair a 3rd time after 2 bad results........

Zen salon was selling gift certificates in the Fox River Mall in August of 2013. I bought a cut and color for only $49, and a massage for $32.50. They told me they never expired and I could use them anytime. They did have someones name on the back but NEVER once explained if the person wasnt there it was not going to be honored.I made an appointment for the cut and color and when I arrived the stylist was no longer there, so it was with a new girl. I loved the new girl and thought how lucky I was that the other girl had left. Well I made an appointment again and when I arrived I had lucked out again with salon because the lady I had last time had left (she had just started there!) At this point I was getting frustrated as I finally had time to come in and was paying a babysitter. I couldnt just come back a different time. Another new girl had just started and had time for me, halfway through my hair she had to have someone take over because she had a different appointment that was booked under her. The owner came over and was completely rude and did everything but apologize.Its been almost a year and I still cant use my massage because the therapist is no longer employed and the other massage therapist doesnt accept the certificates. They have a lady but she is booked out until September, which means she wont be there when I make it because no one stays there. The turnover is obnoxious.Please, Please do yourself a favor and dont buy the certificates in the mall. There are so many other wonderful places in Appleton to get your hair done. I hope they fix their negative energy and other people dont go through the hassle and waste of money I have gone through.

I just got my hair done by Kailyn at zen and she did a amazing job she gave me some more highlight and even did a purple blue mix underneath and it rocked. I will be for sure going back and it was my first time at the zen salon and it was a very nice place. Even had some cute clothes that I’m sure I’ll b buying.

My massage gal was phenomenal but trying to get in was excruciatingly painful. I had wanted to get in in August and it took 3 months to get an appointment because nobody was getting back to me. I would often get a busy signal or leave a message on an answering machine that never got returned.

This salon and boutique has a lot to offer. The owner struggled through the pandemic and managed to stay open in some capacity through this past nightmare of a year. Things are starting to really pick up - many services offered, done professionally, and I am very selective when it comes to my hair! The boutique offers stylish fashions I have not seen anywhere else - not your usual mall-wear. You owe it to yourself to check this place out.

We were very happy with the gal who did my wifes hair. We were exceedingly disappointed with, Lori, the owner. She was very rude, and has extremely bad customer service skills. It is amazing to me that she can stay in business running it the way she does, and treating customers the way she does. I feel sorry for the ladies renting chairs ftom her.

I have been going to ZEN for 6 years because their staff of talented stylist are THE BEST! (shout out to Jackie!) Recently Ive had Laurie the owner do my hair twice WOW, AMAZING! She GETS my hair. I have VERY long hair and I am very particular. ( slide cut on the sides, V in the back, 1 long layer in back for bounce and thinning out underneath since my hair is very think and heavy. ) LAURIE DOES A PERFECT JOB! I feel 100% confident with Laurie and her TEAM! Thank you all! ZEN IS theeeeeee best over all experience in Appleton WI for hair care!!! They offer a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!

The owner of Zen Salon has been my hairdresser for over 15 years! She is a great hair stylist and gives a great facial!! They also offer waxing and massage, plus she has a little boutique in the salon with a variety of clothing and jewelry-Great salon!

Marlo was amazing. She gave my mom a haircut, a woman who just recently began to have scalp issues. She was pleasant, professional and I would 💯 recommend anyone to get their hair cut by her!

The owner is incredibly snobby and impolite! Its very clear that she doesnt want to bring in new customers and could care less about making customers happy. I won a gift certificate to use at the salon and was told it was good for services only. Knowing that, I asked to schedule a nail appointment. I was immediately shut down and told I could only use it on haircuts. I already have a salon/stylist I use, so I have no interest in getting my hair cut there. I asked if I could use the certificate on anything else (I mean why wouldnt they want my business?) but was strictly told no. This renders my gift certificate utterly useless, not to mention a discouragement to go there moving forward. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they want to be belittled.

I started going to Zen about a year ago based on a recommendation from a friend. This salon has it all. The quality of the technicians is amazing both in skill sets and real customer service. They actually listen to you and will do what is necessary to give the client what they want. Special shout-outs to Cassie, Rhonda and Amy who make me feel valued everything I go there.

Ive been going to Zen Salon since they opened their doors. I have found the staff to be very personable and pleasent. Appointment times are very accommodating. I especially like the way new hair styles and products are presented to me. I find my time at Zen Salon very enjoyable and relaxing.

I scheduled a couples massage on the phone 2-3 weeks in advanced. Then me and my boyfriend show up 10 minutes early for our appointment and waited 5 minutes to be greeted. Then were told they only scheduled one massage, my bf tells me I should go and he’ll reschedule. I paid for 60 min massage and I only got 50 min..

Nicole was amazing and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I swear I could have fallen asleep with how relaxed I was. 100% recommend.

All salons can be very different and charge the same. Relaxing pedicures including soaking, massage, lotion or oils, filing of heals if needed, most will do. Warm towels wrapped feet and hands. Then you finish with preparation of nails including top coat. Then under a nail dryer which would include both toe nails and fingernails. Dryers were not offered so they did not properly dry and did smudge. UV for gel or at least a dryer not applied. Some will offer a complementary drink with something else...cookie etc. These are what I see as a relaxing pedicure and manicure experience. You should ask if this is what you are getting, many of them do!

I love Zen salon and drive all the way from Green Bay for my wax. They are always professional, friendly, clean, accommodating to your schedule, fast and efficient (for a wax particularly is a bonus). Ive been going since they opened. I wont go anywhere else!

Just had the best mani/pedi ever! Charlie was great. He was meticulous on taking some pretty bad looking toes, he even picked my color. Which was perfect. He was a great technician. His skills are right up there with the best salons. However, those salons don’t have a “Charlie”. He has the best personality and sense of humor. He also has a big heart and really wants his clients to be comfortable and enjoy there experience.

Took my granddaughter in for a special girls day with grandma for mani pedis. She had a guy and I had a women. My experience was wonderful, pampering, and relaxing. My granddaughter however got the speedy service. We were sitting side by side and chit chatting with each other. Her pedi was done and she was taken to the mani station and nails done as I was just starting to get my toe nails painted. I feel the service she received was not up to salon standards the price you pay at a salon is for service and relaxation not speed in and out. He was also arguing about how payment was going to be split among himself and my stylist in front of us. That is so inappropriate.... I do not recommend him but Rachel was wonderful. I have a call in to the manager to call me back to try and resolve this issue for my granddaughter.

I followed Lori from her past salon to Zen Salon. Ive always experienced great service and have fun while Im there. This is one of the few places that Ive gone to where they work hard to fit me in on short notice or accommodate my crazy schedule. The service is friendly and the results are fantastic!

Worst facial of all time. Room reeked of rancid oil. Glaring bright lights exposed a dirty environment in need of fresh paint. The woman used suffocatingly large, BOILING HOT towels on my face. Her skill levels were pre-beginner. She had her phone next to my head playing some awful sort of marching music, and her phone rang twice in 30 minutes. Whatever cheap product she used gave me a burning red rash all over my face. She didnt charge me, and apologized. I felt sorry for her. She was clearly poorly trained and totally ill-equiped. What kind of salon sets up both service provider and client for such failure?

I have had now 2 horrible experiences at this salon. First - a terrible massage. I decided to give the salon another try with a groupon for a facial with Jessica. First of all, I should have asked about her credentials in skincare - the products she used were cheap, and stored tossed in a bin on the floor. There is NO WAY that she is an esthetician qualified for skincare. The bed was cold and damp, the lights were glaring. The steam machine was throwing scalding hot water onto my face and she didnt notice until I told her and she asked is it spitting on you? Ill move it back - faulty equipment continuing to be used. I counted - 11 hot towels placed on my face, where every time she dropped her arms on the bed as she waited for them to be removed. By the time I left, I was so covered in GOOP and many different scents, my hair was disgusting, and my skin crawling. I raced home to shower!! The products left residue all over my car and clothes, and I didnt even recognize the product names when I picked them off the floor to see what was used. SO horribly disgusted with this place - I will be contacting the owner, as well as the BBB. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!

I see this place on Groupon all the time and Ive been hesitant to try it out because of some of the reviews. I finally decided to check it out for myself and bought a couple of groupon coupons. I had a great massage there by Wendy. She did a 5 Star job, but I found the room to be a chilly which I didnt like, but it wasnt so bad when I laid down in the massage bed. Even though I have another groupon left for a manicure, I dont think its a place Id return to because I found the woman, whom I presume to be the manager, unpleasantly rude. She was at the counter and made it seem like my presence disturbed her, so I really didnt feel welcome. Hopefully I just caught her on a bad day, but she was unpleasant enough not to want to return. Fortunately it was just a groupon so Im only out a few dollars.

First time here and the masseuse charged me $390 instead of $39. Then she couldn’t cancel it and asked me to call my bank to cancel it. Well they’re closed and now I’m stuck here in the lobby waiting while she’s making phone calls trying to find someone to cancel it for her. Next time just type in the correct numbers!! I have other appointments!

Charlie is definitely a pro when it comes to manicures and pedicures. I have gone for pedicures many times in the past and when I switched to Charlie, he noticed problem areas that hadn’t been addressed properly by others in the past. My hands and feet are now in the best shape they’ve ever been.

Had a horrible experience here. Got my hair and makeup done for a special occasion and left the salon feeling more self conscious than what I did before I got there. Had higher expectations and was very disappointed. I regret not doing my hair and makeup myself that day as I could have done a better job and saved myself $100. I ended up going to the car and having to fix it all anyways.

I would recommend Zen Salon for all waxing services. Lori does an amazing job and would not go to anyone else. She is so quick and almost pain free and it looks amazing! Thanks Lori for a great experience!

Calm, quiet setting. Staff members are very friendly, courteous, and professional. Sherri,the stylist who cuts my remaining hair, is truly an artist; very personable with fantastic skill.

This place is beyond unprofessional and shouldnt be in business. I received 2 gift certificates from my cancer benefit and after chemotherapy it took quite awhile for my hair to grow back or for me to feel up to being pampered. The certificates were barely expired and they refused to honor them even after hearing my explanation. That is just cold hearted.

Lady was very pushy on me paying with cash. Asked me how I would paying before my 1st service of a pedicure was done and when I said card she pushed me to pay with cash and then when I was getting my 2nd service of eyelash extensions on she asked me how I would be paying and when I said card she again pushed me for cash and then asked if I could pay half and half. I said I would have to check because I was done with the rudeness. So as soon as she was done she asked if I could check. I ended up just paying in cash for all of it because I wanted to get out of there so bad. Wont be going back.

Awful place- I bought a Groupon and the first thing the stylist Karen told me, was not to use Groupon anymore because they take half the money. she gave me a good color, but the cut was way too short. when I got to work, I had a long piece of hair that was uncut, so one of the nurses cut it for me. Secondly, I showed everyone the cut I asked for and they looked at me and laughed. People said its a terrible cut, that they would not have paid for it. I would never go back, nor would I recommend anyone go there.

Saw a coupon in the money saver and thought Id try Zen Salon. Had an appt. For 5:30, arrived early (5:15). At 6:00 I let the girl at the desk know that I had been waiting for 30mins and I wouldnt wait any longer and I was leaving and then I left. They had the audacity to send me a text message saying that I was a NO SHOW...What? I did show up, the stylist did not!! Honestly, Ive never waited that long, ever!!

I had to cancel an general hair a appointment, no special services, due to a work emergency..i called hours ahead of time to tell them that..next thing I know Im getting a text saying Im down as a no show and if I want to make another apointment there at all there will be. a $20.00 CHARGE...WHAT? it was never mentioned etc...thats okay never going back....

Kim does an amazing massage! She did a great job and even worked on clearing my sinuses! I highly recommend. Coupon also available in mailer.

Don’t go to Charlie for any nail services I got a shellac manicure done and the same day it peeled off I’m currently out of town and won’t be back for a few days and he tells me I have to come in within 24hrs to get it fixed ! Like what kind of policy is that?! I work two jobs and 8 months pregnant and he can’t find a way to fix my one nail that he messed up on poor customer service and wouldn’t let me use my groupon because they dont get much from it that’s not my fault and then when I called to complain all thy could say was they’ll give te message to him and there’s nothing they can do well thanks for wasting my time and money

I love going to Lori for my waxes. She is very fast paced but she cares about her clients. She knows what shes doing and it shows. Her confidence in what she does makes it east to trust her.

I literally have not even made an appointment here and am so frustrated I would never recommend Zen Salon to anyone. I called this morning to find out some prices, they did not listen to my questions or answer them they just started trying to book an appointment. I then went on to tell them that you can not find there hours anywhere and that there voice mail tells you to leave a message but there inbox it always full and you cant even leave a voice mail if you wanted to. She then told me she has no control over the voice mail and she will tell the owner... Voice mails do not fill up that fast this has clearly been neglected for a long period of time....Hoping to get a better result I messaged them through Facebook on there page and they started once again ignoring my questions/statements and started in what my opinion would be arguing with me.RUDE RUDE RUDE, how do you expect to get new customers if the people answering your phone is rude and the people taking care of your social media are just as bad!!RIDICULOUS

Also, no one seems to answer the phones there, and when they do they are rude. The person taking appointments usually doesnt know if there is something available, and takes forever to get you booked in. I do not recommend this place at all.

Tina cut my hair and she is fabulous! I showed her a picture and off she went. It look just like the picture when she was finished. Looks like I got myself a new stylist! Yay!

I am a previous employee if you are looking for employment do not DO NOT work here I still have not got my tax forms the owner hangs up on you like a child when you call to ask for your stuff back after or your tax forms. It is a very unprofessional place to work and they treat their employees terribly. If you are looking to support a local business that treats people like nothing then give them a try if not take your business elsewhere

My husband sceduled for a 11:30 massage, they changed the time the day of and when he called to tell them we can be there at the sceduled time we were told we are out our massage and will be charged

Bought my wife a Groupon for this place...but unfortunately she had a bad experience there and will never go there again. She got mani/pedi but had to put up with constant comments from the stylist about how lame people are who use Groupon... seriously? Poor customer service at this place. Will never go to again.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE... I called two weeks ago to schedule two appointments and I didn’t hear back for one week so last week I messaged them and still no response. Why have a phone or business page when you don’t answer or respond?!! What business doesn’t want business and what kind of business pays the money to print ads and coupons but don’t take in clients to make profit?
