Rascals Bar & Grill

Decided to stop out for a drink and Guess what they close the bar early yet there’s people in the bar how nice any businesses being open anymore, let alone the last time I was in I was treated like complete garbage by the bartender. I did nothing other than sit down and drink. I was polite and smiled. The owners need to step up their game and clean house. Otherwise they have a bar much longer pathetic

First experience here a few months ago was not the best but i thought maybe it was an off night. I have been there 4 times this year and things never change. The new patio is amazing but the service hasnt gotten any better. Although they advertise the kitchen open until 9, twice on weeknights I asked for a menu. One night on the patio I was told they dont serve food when there is one bartender and the patio is open. The second time the bartender got upset and said the grille wasnt on but if I insisted, he would turn it on. The other part that did not make me feel welcome was the group of employees who seem to take over the bar. The bartender spends more time shaking dice with them, than serving customers. I talked to a lady who said she is a regular customer. She said everyone along that part of the bar (7 of them) were all employees or their partners and they get their drinks half price. If you arent part of the employee crowd, you will be treated like an annoyance. Its too bad this is the only gay bar in Appleton.

Very nice bar and friendly owners. While there have been many bartenders - Andrew is the most attentive which translates into awesome customer service. There have been upgrades and updates to the bar which have improved the overall experience. There are many bars in Appleton however Rascals is definitely my favorite.

Wonderful atmosphere with great drink prices and a fun crowd. Considering it’s one of the only gay bars in the area, it was very welcoming, relaxed environment. The bartenders were superb and had excellent taste in music. I will definitely be returning during my next visit to the area!

L love(d) this place; appears l didn’t get there on friday when my boys opened this place…there’s a ‘tender’ there (forever friday) beloved to some (l hope the new owners feel his clients are preferred)! Sadly, l do not. l won’t be regular (again) until l’m welcomed within 60 seconds, & have placed my request before 7 minutes elapses. SUPER DISAPPOINTED‼️Take PRIDE in your work ❣️

Nice comfortable bar. Service is slow. Not sure how I feel about people behind the bar. They are friendly to people they know and tend to be more sociable to them then welcoming and serving everyone. Also would recommend like a lot of other gay bars have a outside heater for your smoking customers. This bar has been around for a very long time but it seems to have lost a lot of personal relationship to the gay customers and become just a business however we do not have any other options here in Appleton this is kinda sad. When you go to Green Bay the gay bars there always tend to have a owner behind the bar and tend to be genuinely happy and glad your there and not afraid to buy you a drink once in awhile

Locally owned and operate gay bar with great drink specials. Staff is friendly. Food is amazing and priced right. Atmosphere is very Cheers like. Jukebox is always ready to go. Welcoming crowd of people, if you show up alone youll have a few new friends by the end of the night. Always a good time no matter the day of the week. Great outdoor patio space to enjoy in the warmer months as well.

Had the haddock fish fry, fish was crunchy and not edible. If you like your cocktails 90 percent alcohol and 10 percent mixer this is the place to be however I do not, had to get a cup full of soda to mix myself and tone it down. Bartender by the name of doodles is strange. When asked his real name he got weird like I was asking for personal information. When leaving almost got run over by a drunk girl backing out of parking lot. Will not return

We hadn’t been since the new owners took occupancy. As someone working in health care, we were alarmed in the past that this establishment was not respecting healthcare safety protocols. With vaccines in the rear view window, my friend and I took my husband here for his 40th birthday. The bartender acted like it was any other day and basically chatted with his two friends… the only other people in the bar. When my husband mentioned he felt uncared for and went to the restroom the bartender disparaged my husband in front of me. When I defended my husband he said he’d been bar tending for 10 years and we were the problem. If you don’t know to celebrate someone on their birthday or think you can talk about someone’s spouse behind their back then you may pour drinks but you don’t understand hospitality.

We stopped by Rascals (twice) while in town for a Packers game. I cannot say enough good things about the hospitality that we received from the owners, Jim and Karen, and the staff. Sooooo incredibly welcoming, friendly, and generous!!!Show your pride and we will support you!! Every. Single. Time.

I don’t think you should put rainbows all over your establishment if u don’t include the whole rainbow. The bathrooms are gendered.... where’s the T in the LGBT community thanks they’re single stall bathrooms all u have to change is a sign and my review moves up a star. Non gendered restroom signs are sold at staples and they’re cute. I’m from out of town and I was pretty charmed by this place till I realized the bathrooms were only for cis people.

You get out of Rascals what you put in to it. Warm, welcoming, funny, and friendly staff. If you didnt make new friends, its because you didnt try. Jukebox is always on. Its not a library. If the music sucks, its your own fault. Todd has always run an excellent establishment.

Best gay bar in the area. Good food. Great staff. Up-to-date Jukebox. Pool table. Dartboard. Video Machines. Starts getting busy around 930-10pm. Worth a visit!

Was in there one time this past summer and it seemed like only older people went there...and mostly men. Not much for the younger scene...and not many girls there. Maybe it was just the day I went, so I will try on nye or sometime after and will see. But unfortunately this is the only gay bar in the area and I felt very out of place...

My brother used to own the bar so we used to play cards there quite often. Was good to get back there and play sheepshead. Was good to see some familiar faces again. Nice place and friendly people.

Favorite bar to go to! Consider it the Cheers of the area! Very friendly and definitely non-discriminatory. And the drinks are nice and strong! Saturday night AUCD bust is the best!

The One and Only gay bar in Appleton. Ladies, dont be so shy, its mostly men looking for men here- if you wanna meet a girl for a flirt, laugh or love come on out, mix up the crowd a bit!

Absolutely horrible place. I was told by one of the bartenders that I wasnt getting any service because I was straight. Everyone but the two people I knew made nasty remarks towards us. Plus the floor was really sticky.

Weak drinks and loud music. I couldnt even talk with my friends, there were only ten or so people in the bar and the jukebox was blaring. I asked if the bartender could turn it down because everyone was shouting to hear each other but from what I could bearly hear of his answer was I wouldnt know who

I love this bar. The outdoor area is lovely in the summer & they provide a wamrer area for smokers in the winter. Nice bartenders and extremely welcoming crowd.

The bartenders are so friendly. it may take a while for service when theyre busy, but it is well worth the wait.

This bar is horrible. . . mostly old men, drinks are expensive, the bartenders are rude, and the service is awful!
