I recently visited Zen Spa in Bakersfield and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by a friendly hostess who made me feel welcome and comfortable. The spa is located in a nice area and has a calming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.I booked a massage with one of their skillful masseurs and was blown away by the level of expertise and care that went into the treatment. The masseur was attentive to my needs and made sure to focus on the areas that needed the most attention. The massage itself was incredibly relaxing and left me feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.What really stood out to me, though, was the staffs attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure my experience was nothing short of perfect. The hostess provided me with a tour of the spa and explained all the different services they offered, making sure I knew all my options before I made my decision. Additionally, the masseur provided me with tips on how to take care of my body and maintain the benefits of the massage.Overall, I highly recommend Zen Spa to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The friendly staff, nice location, helpful hostess, and skillful masseur all contribute to an exceptional spa experience that I will definitely be returning to.

I called and scheduled a massage for my Wife and Daughter (18 years old). When I called I asked for two female masseuses and the guy I was speaking said yes. As my Wife and Daughter were getting undressed for their massage they began to hear one man and a couple female masseuses start yelling at each other. They were very loud and angry. This kept going on so my wife put her clothes back on and walked out and confronted them to ask them to stop yelling. They apologized and stopped. Then about 30 seconds into my daughter massage a man walked in and they started arguing again. My daughter asked them to stop and said she would leave if they didn’t. Again, they apologized and stopped. A few minutes later the lady masseuse in my daughter’s room and the lady masseuse in my wife’s room started yelling at each other through the walls. This was the absolute worst experience my Wife and daughter have ever had. Will not be going back.

As a busy working mom, finding time to relax is a luxury. Thanks to the skilled therapists at this massage parlor, I always leave feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle whatever comes my way.Being an athlete, I often deal with muscle soreness and tension. The deep tissue massage I received here was exactly what I needed to soothe my aching muscles. Highly recommend!

Worst massage ever. The guy was on his phone the entire time. He used one hand and kept pausing. Forgot my neck and shoulders and right side back. He even started late, took a break and finished early. So disappointed. Such a waste of money this time.

They dont ask questions like, you who do you prefer to give you a massage, male or female? Or How do you want your massage mild, medium, or strong. They just assume that youre going to like the massage the way they do it. So, Dont forget to tell them how do you like it. In my opinion the massage was too strong for me.

I Was able book a last minute couples massage for my husband and I. The people were very nice and they were able to find the spot that’s been bothering me for the past week. I’m very glad to have chosen this place. Ask for Amy she was wonderful.

Will never return. When checking out she asked how much tip I’d like to leave, I stated the amount and she said “no, how about “x” which was $10 more than what I’d said. I said no, this amount. She again said no, “x” amount. I again said no and she then pointed to a sign that was hand written stating at least “x” amount is required as a standard tip. This was incredibly frustrating and wrong seeing as how a tip is not required. After I said no again she turned the machine for me to enter the amount and then proceeded to give me a dirty look and no longer speak to me. This was on top of the massage therapist continually leaving the room to grab this or that and didn’t add extra time to make up for these absences. Used her elbow and for arm bone for 90% of the massage causing a lot of pain and even after repeatedly telling her not so much pressure she would continue. Very unhappy and will definitely never return and let others know not to go there either.

I recently visited this massage parlor for the first time and was blown away by the quality of service. From the tranquil ambianceto the skilled hands of the therapists, every aspect exceeded my expectations.

As a frontline healthcare worker, the past year has been particularly challenging. This massage parlor has been my saving grace, providing a much-needed escape and relief from the stress of my job. The therapists here are true heroes in their own right.

Truly disappointed. Rude , doesn’t speak English and no effort on trying to communicate. Angry when I intervened on my friends mistake of $30.00 tip ! She is sick and needs guidance. He said Tip Tip . Those were the only words he spoke . Bare minimum of a massage

Not a pleasant experience. I didn’t have an appointment but I called about an hour before going in to ask if it was okay I went without an appointment they told me that was okay. I went and they gave me a room. I’m laying down and one of the male massage therapists walk into the room. I asked if there was a female he said no and in about 20 minutes there will be. I proceeded with the massage because I had an awful pain in my neck, needed a massage last minute and was in a rush. The massage was alright as I went to pay the same male massage therapist he asked for a tip and I said no tip today he looked at me like I was insane and he asked again for a tip. I said no tip. He told me with hand motions appointment then I could of had a women. I explained to him if he would have told me there wasn’t going to be a woman I would have waited or not have went to their spa. He asked me a total of 3 times and was not happy I didn’t want to tip. Not a great experience at all as there was no communication during the massage and it wasn’t the best. I was not mentally prepared for a man to enter the room and found it absolutely inconsiderate. I wouldn’t go back or recommend to anyone.

Zen spa used to be my go to place , I always take a friend, they have really been slacking lately. The effort isnt there like it used to be, maybe they are becoming too comfortable, I always leave a $15 - $20 in tip and pay in cash. Time to look somewhere else. I want to leave feel good not resentful, Like I give a tip and talk myself thru it saying , things change and there are more options.

I’ve been going to them for years, my whole family does, too. I’ve never had a bad experience. Some of the reviews here say they are mean about tipping, but why would anyone not tip their therapists after he or she took care of you. The unhappy customers must be unhappy for a reason. I recommend them to everyone for the price and for the services.

Requested female for apt and they forgot. I had to wait. An employee talking loudly in the room next to me on the phone the whole hour. Burned part of my body with hot rocks because oil wasn’t put everywhere. Beware they put a fragranced lotion on your face without warning, which can cause skin irration like in my case. At the end my 15% tip was not enough and employee directly stated I give 20% and upfront demanded I pay more in tip. As if they deserved it. I’m always empathic towards workers in customer service so gave another $5 then she shook her head and scoffed. Never returning !

I made appointment for my mom to get full body massage on International Women’s day. She had great experience over there with Candy. The receptionist is very professional and friendly! Definitely will come back

I had a one hour body massage and a 30minutes foot massage. My massuer has a very poor technique and feels like a student or a beginner. Very poor foot massage and body massage flow, shes all over the place, poor knowledge on where to press and how long to stay on one area. When she stepped out, she left my back open and I was cold. The hot stone was a joke, just like the foot, head/neck massages was a joke. The water for the foot is barely warm and low. Again Im dealing with a student or a beginner. The floor manager kept insisting that. good or that she requested by customer,,,I doubted that. Ive been in Coffee and callowey branches since 2016 , i am so disappointed of the kind of service they gave. It isnt worth $70. Zen spa has failed miserably. Id better be off trying home service massage, at least its the same person and my chances of being treated by skillful masseur is better. Consistency is important in this business. Zen spa has failed terribly.

So me and my husband decided to go get a couples massage at our normal place Zen Spa, well today must have been a bad day because my massage was not good at all. The guy just put the hot rocks on my back with out warning and them threw the towel down on me. When it was time to check out the lady tried to force me to pay 20%. I was already going to leave a cash tip but what I was giving them was not enough for them.. I will not be going back

We actually booked the wrong location and maybe place because we use to go somewhere by olive dr but glad we made the mistake ! We had a couples message it was way better than the last place we went to, our new favorite place we highly recommend

My husband and son bought me a mothersday gift card for a 90 minute massage, a facial and aroma therapy . I must say the massage and everyrning was so superb. She did an amazing job. She made it her mission to get rid of every knot which helped tremendously as I had been in constant pain and having daily headaches. She fixed me right up. But the reason Im putting 3 stars is because as I was about to head out to get my purse to tip her (I left it in the truck) I start being grilled about a tip. Which I was already going to do. I always tip if they did a good job and she did great. But to DEMAND a tip is something Ive never experienced. I gave a $10 tip but really it made me super uncomfortable . The massage was great but unfortunately I wont be going back due to their seriously rude demands. A tip is literally optional. And even though it was already my intent , demanding doesnt sit well with me. I see Im not the first to experience this so I really hope they can learn not to not act that way.

I went in today with my husband for the couples 60 min massage. I was enjoying my massaging , I had John. He made me feel very relaxed and I am completely satisfied. I was thinking my husband was having the same experience as me. he was mentioned how NONE of it felt good at all. The lady dug her elbows into him the entire time, rubbing her elbow against his bones. The entire time I can hear her smacking and pounding his body. My husband said it was as if she didn’t know what to do. It was fast, harsh, and not what he had expected. While rubbing his head, she applied too much force and was pulling his hair. She did everything carelessly. While paying , a different lady asks how much for tip. I said 10 and she was trying to get me to pay 10$ each.I told her I am just giving my masseuse $10 and that’s it. I had to tell her the exact total I am going to pay. And she just says “....ok....” and you can tell she did not appreciate that amount.

My husband and I have been in multiple times and they have always been great. Today I had a back ache and went in. Massage was good. I go to checkout and she yells at me to tip (which I always do). I handed her a $100 and got large bills back. I asked her to break it. The lowest being a $10 bill. I asked for $5s and gave her a $5 bill. She was extremely rude and huffed at the $5 tip and started talking in a mean tone to the guy there. I felt so uncomfortable that I will never go back. Tips are not required. It’s a bonus to a service.

I went here once for a foot massage after a few days at Disneyland and their foot massage is like a full body massage with special attention to the feet. It was wonderful!My husband has been having some back pain the past week. He got off early today and I suggested we get a couples massage at the same place. We have had multiple massages that have been mediocre, but this place was excellent! Professional service from the start. The receptionionist was very kind and able to get us in right away. We were going to do the 60 minute and then decided to do the 90 because the price was fantastic for 30 more minutes. My spouse has a really hard time getting massages because the pressure is never enough. He said his masseuse hit every problem area in his back with excellent pressure. She continually asked him if the presssure was good which he really appreciated. My masseuse worked all the stress right out of me. I love deep tissue, but its hard for me to find the right masseuse as it can be a little to rough for me or not enough pressure. The couples massage consists of a deep tissue massage and hot rocks. This was our first experience with the rocks and that was such a relaxing, nice touch. I had Kevin and my husband had Jessie. We will request them next time we go in. The location is perfect for our needs and the spa has a great relaxing tone with elegant music and lighting. Very excited to have a spa so close to our house that can offer such excellent service!

Ive been to Zen Spa Massage twice now and was really happy with the experience. I have some neck pain and tight upper shoulders because I sit at a computer for work all day. The massage really loosened me up and the masseuse dug deep into my muscle tissue which kinda hurt at first, but was really what I needed to walk out of the shop feeling much better. Be sure to hydrate after such a deep massage like that. I would recommend this place to my friends and family and say to take the hour long massage to make the trip worthwhile.

This spa offers a “foot massage” that’s more like a head to toe massage for only $30 an hour. The music and the atmosphere were all very relaxing. The masseuse had strong hands and knew exactly where the pressure points were. I enjoyed every minute of it. Will bring family and friends.

I was suggested this place by my yoga instructor they are not bad at all! Always feel great after, its not an extremely professional massage (professional enough) but not basic I almost wanted to call it basic but I cant and although every person has there you know gift I guess you could say (because touching isnt everyones Forte nor do most people WANT to massage a person) but they all have a very good hand. Its almost saddening to me that they have the same/similar routine because I loved when I had a personal massager and he really felt what was wrong and helped me thoroughly by doing that but this place definitely gots a good crew at all 3 locations (Ive been to them all and I A LOT) they all probably work too hard but hopefully getting good tips!. Im sure they dont get paid enough. Oh and I bring my own CBD all the time and theyre totally willing to use it and not charge me extra. I love it! Definitely need more massages all the time but how active I am I also need serious help like cupping or ice baths etc. Maintenence is hard but fun I guess because I get to pay someone to pamper meee < 3 Thanks Zen love yall!

Worst massage I have ever gotten in my life. Went for a couples massage, and neither of them knew what they were doing. They just rubbed me down and did not use any technique. If you want to be rubbed down for an hour, this is the place for you.

Good luck finding the zen at Zen Spa. Shoulders and neck were feeling tight, so I zipped in for a basic massage - which is what you get. A forceful massage (fine), little privacy, nothing warm and fuzzy here. None of the staff spoke English, which wouldnt be a problem except the masseur quickly grew irritated when I couldnt figure out what he wanted me to do. They also dont understand the meaning of the word tip and dont hesitate to say so, as in your tip no good. The owner was insulted by my $5 tip; apparently a 18% minimum tip is expected. It was my first and last time at Zen Spa.

Hubby n I got a couples massage, which was absolutely fabulous. The masseuse where great. They took out both of our knots and payed attention to the details of our bodys needs. The music and lighting was very nice and tempature was nice. Wehighly recommend this parlor.♥️♥️

DO NOT GO HERE! I went to go have my boyfriend relax after a long day and I was going to go next door to get my nails done at the nail salon. So I asked the lady if I can pay for his massage before he gets it. I get charged and asks for tip so I put 2 dollars. Mind you I was paying for a 60 dollar massage already.As soon as she sees the 2 dollars she says something to the gentleman in her language and I hear her say 2 dollars. She tells me to wait, grab a another lady and the lady comes and tells me I need to give her a bigger tip because she works hard and 90 minutes is a long time. I look puzzled and was like but its a tip.A Tip is not required, tips are earned and a bonus. She says ok and Im like well I dont have cash she says go get more tip Im like umm.. no. And shes like ok you tip more I assumed she meant next time. Brings up the credit card machine and has me rang up for another tip Im like No! Im not going to tip you, much less tip you before the service, or give a bigger tip because YOU tell me! Ha!!So at this point Im agitated and ask for my money back and no massage. She proceeds to have us sit down and I ask for a refund about 4 times, I explain it to them, she STILL decided to get the water ready and hot rocks ready. I was under the impression she charged my card was there forever and made a big deal out of a simple refund! Come to tell me she never charged my card. WASTE OF FREAKING TIME!! Sorry but TIPS ARE NOT REQUIRED! DONT ASK FOR A TIP, PERIOD. DONT EXPECT IT. Be happy you were even going to get a tip! Never going there again!

I went in recently for a 30 minute massage. The therapist did pretty good. I needed a softer massage and she was quite accommodating. The price was pretty good, not too expensive. I’ll definitely try to come once a week.

Man demanded and expected a higher tip when the massage was subpar. The worse part is that he verbally huffed and demanded a higher tip.

I had a really bad 90 min massage and I would give it a 3 out of 10 and talking really loud outside the room couldn’t relax and the icing was when she told me what I should tip, excuse me I tip based on the service I receive not based on your dictation …..never will I ever go here again, completely awful!!!!

They really work hard for a modest price. They recently hired and English speaking receptionist which helped a lot. I think they mainly speak Mandarin? Its not a problem its just difficult sometimes trying to communicate. I guess I need to learn how to use Google translate.

I felt so relaxed here. I was able to let loose right away even though it was my first time here. I felt comfortable and it was great that i didnt have to remove any clothing items but they still massaged my arms and shoulders. Very low prices as well.
