The Retreat Day Spa

I went to the Retreat today for a spa day with two of my friends and we truly had the best time. The atmosphere was amazing, the treatments were great, and all of the amenities were exactly as described. All three of us thought it was very well paced and scheduled, and the staff were incredibly nice. As soon as we left we discussed when we could return. I cannot recommend the Retreat enough!

This place is amazing. I have used many different spas. This has easy parking, did not wait long before I was taken back. When finished with my wonderful massage I went straight to my facial with no waiting. The massage was one of the best I have ever had. I have asked for gift certificates to this place from now on. I am in love and will be back again and again.

Originally was disappointed by a phantom appointment that I had been looking forward to, but Jill and the retreat/mockingbird team went above and beyond to remedy this situation! I was supposed to be booked for today at 5 at retreat and due to a glitch in the system my appt didn’t go through and there was no space for me. The team did everything they could to get me in and make it a lovely experience. Yall run a beautiful spa with integrity and you now have a customer for life!!! Thank you Jill, Alicia from mockingbird and Nanette from mockingbird for absolutely making my day ❤️

I was in road trip and accidentally visit this great massage place. The place looks really nice and calm for the seating area and reception. The massage room is very clean and no noise you could hear from outside it. The music and the sounds effects are great while you are having a massage. The staff are friendly either the front desk girl or the massager. The only thing that I would consider it is the price. It is a bit expensive than others. I had a 60 minute massage for $95 exclude it the tip. Otherwise; everythings are accepted.

The spa was nice and the music was good. My 30 min facial was scheduled for 3:00 but my esthetician (forgot her name) came to get me at around 3:15 she thought it was 3:30 but after checking realized it was 3:00. She did a nice job and the products smelled amazing. My massage with Dana was absolutely fantastic 10/10. The missing star in my rating is due to the nightmare at checkout. A friend booked us massages for my birthday and when she told me about it, I called a few day later and added facials for us both. Fast forward to day of at checkout my friend wanted to pay for her gift to me (both massages) and I was going to pay for both facials. We were there for a solid 30 min while the lady tried to figure out how allow that. After literally 30 frustrating min we dug up enough cash between us to just pay cash and leave and let her sort it out on her own in the computer. It was definitely not a relaxing end to our visit. It was ridiculous.

My sister and I took my mom here as a suprise birthday gift and we all loved it! The staff was extremely friendly and sweet plus the services were amazing! We did The Luxury of Tim Spa Package and I definitely recommend it!! Thank you ladies so much for the wonderful experience!!!

This place is always professional. Ive been once to get a 30 min massage followed by a 30 min facial and it was RELAXING and QUIET. Then Ive gone for a 60 minute couples massage and it was also very professional, clean, and relaxing. Its awesome they have a 100 health rating too

Never been to an actual spa until today and I gotta say it was a superb experience. I received a spa gift card for Christmas and this is the only place in the Birmingham area that accepts them that offers prenatal massages.Christy was my masseuse for the prenatal massage. Her hands are so graceful as they roll and knead over your body. She’s so kind and pleasant. Perfect amount of pressure and I felt like a noodle. First massage in a year and first prenatal massage ever. I highly enjoyed it!They brought me in the sitting area to wait for Suzan for my facial. The sitting area is cozy and they offer a wide variety of snacks and beverages. Felt like I was instantly welcomed while sitting in the robe they provided.Suzan gave an amazing facial. I told her about how my face is super dry and I had rosacea in the past. I loved all the smells of the lotions and scrubs she put on my face. I’ve only had one facial before and this one exceeded my expectations! My face is still incredibly smooth now and it’s been a few hours.Overall I had a very relaxing time and I needed this so bad. All the areas of pain I mentioned had been released thanks to Christy! My face issues had been addressed by Suzan! This spa is a must go to!

Such a great time, my first ever massage they were extremely welcoming and comforting.

Heather gave me the most attentive massage I’ve ever had in 20 years of seeking massage therapy. I have nerve pain in my shoulders and arms and from the beginning of the appointment she focused on my needs with table placement and positioning. I felt safe and validated. When I needed her to adjust pressure, she did so seamlessly. Her intuitive approach made all the difference. I was feeling chatty and appreciated the conversation so much. I scheduled another massage upon checkout. After spending weeks (and several hundred dollars) in physical therapy, I finally got what I needed and wish I had begun here from the start. I also enjoyed my time with the support staff, who treated me to a sample of skincare and guidance that I very much needed. I left feeling excited about a new product and had had what felt like a mini skincare session. Eminence is a fantastic organic line and I was so happy to find a retail establishment educated in the products. I will now be a regular at Retreat Day Spa.

I booked a massage due to having a lot of head and neck pain related to tension. This was only my 3rd massage ever and first here. Erin, my massage therapist, did a phenomenal job! It was both a relaxing and therapeutic experience. I felt so much better afterwards! I was also able to add on my eyebrows last minute. Sooyeon did an excellent job on them as well!

My daughters and I really enjoyed our spa day. I will highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and OMG, the smell of their products are Amazing. The service the staff provides is top notch from booking the appointment to the actual day of service. You will not be disappointed and the money spent is very much worth it !!

I received the most wonderful pedicure from Lauren. She was thorough with attention to detail, from a gentle (but very effective) callus removal, down to the dazzle dry application. They even gave me some delicious Indonesian coffee and a snack! If youre questioning whether or not to make an appointment with these lovely ladies, dont wait! You wont be disappointed. Mix-up with our couples massage and we ended up in separate rooms. I had a great experience and hubby had a so-so massage. We really liked the convenience, cleanliness and professionalism overall. I would come back.

I just finished a one hour massage with Heather, and it was one of the best massages that I have received. I am currently going through fertility treatments and she was very helpful, making recommendations for fertility massages and prenatal services offered at the Spa. I will definitely be coming back to see her.Front desk staff was super helpful and friendly , I would recommend to anyone!

This spa is absolutely amazing!! I have been several times and all the staff are so talented and super sweet! The spa itself is so relaxing, clean, and the perfect place to relax! If you’re looking for a spa to go to this place is it! Can’t recommend it enough!

From the moment I walked in the door on my first visit, I could feel a good energy in this place. It’s welcoming, very clean and I’ve always been greeted with a smile. A monthly massage with Christy (she is amazing) has become one of my routine practices of self love. The owner is so sweet and thoughtful and it’s obvious she wants the best experience for each customer. I also appreciate the added touch in the bathroom with all the things one might need to freshen up after a relaxing treatment.

I came with a bridal party yesterday and we all enjoyed this place SO MUCH! We all were able to enjoy ourselves and each other. ALL of the staff were so unbelievably friendly and welcoming. They took such great care of us all, so every single one of us agreed we would make coming here a regular treat! I can honestly say I received the best massage I have ever gotten in my entire life here, and I am so happy I chose this location while visiting Birmingham. I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in my town and am planning on getting family members here gift certificates in the future. Such a great experience!

Received a glorious massage with Dana as a birthday gift today. As a first time visitor to this spa I was so pleased with the atmosphere, pleasant aroma, and relaxing sounds. Danas skills are amazing! Ive had several massages before but NONE have conveyed such a caring touch. Every stroke was carried out with such skill and I felt like Dana really cared about my general well-being which is remarkable. At one moment I was convinced she was praying for me but it was just a light touch before massaging my temples 😆😆. Just an awesome experience overall. Ill definitely return.👍🏾

First time here for my birthday as a treat with a friend. It was amazing! This was my first time getting a massage and facial. Karen was phenomenal as she literally massaged away my knots and worries. Brittany did a remarkable job on my facial. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. Will definitely be rebooking with them for my next app.

I recently hosted a bachelorette party at The Retreat Day Spa. The services and experiences far exceeded our expectations. The staff made it effortless and so convenient to book for the 8 girls in our group and provided us with a private waiting room. We had the most amazing time and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. The staff was kind, attentive and professional. I personally got the 30 min massage, 30 min facial and a manicure and left feeling refreshed and pampered! I cannot say enough how great the experience was!

Took my daughters and I here for a Valentines Date. All of the staff..massage therapists, estheticians..all very nice. My daughters loved their facials and I loved my facial and massage! Waiting area was quaint with snacks, tea and coffee provided.

Lovely inside and the woman at the desk was very considerate. Unfortunately the massage was barely a “ rub a tiny bit here and there “ - no apparent skill. Also the suggested “ add ons “ will be automatically added on unless you ask to remove them. I didn’t even get all limbs massaged. The room where the lunch was served was nice. The mail area is staffed with a group that was a former nail salon. The nail techs talked constantly to each other the entire time my sister and I were having our pedicures. Not so relaxing. The water in the foot tubs was cold as well- as apparently they had run out of hot water. We heard someone coming from a shower complaining. It was a day package I purchased for my sister and I for her birthday a few months ago and almost $600. It was not the relaxing experience one would expect. I didn’t even get a robe and wasn’t invited to the quiet room initially. I was told to go back to the lobby ! No. Not so good. I’ve traveled extensively and have been to spas all over the world. This is not up to par.

So let me start off by giving a shout out to the wonderful ladies that serviced me. Christy (Massage), Suzan (Facial), Mona (Nails) & Olivia (Reception). This place is amazing, clean and very relaxing. It was a 2 hour drive for me and well worth it. I went back in mid December for my birthday on a little self care getaway. It was everything that I expected and more. The ladies were very professional and pleasantly did their jobs with great customer service. I never felt so relaxed. I’m very thankful that I found this day spa and I will definitely be returning.

My first time at this spa was absolutely amazing. Me and my mom went for my birthday and we selected the retreat getaway package. This was my first time having a hot stone massage and it was wonderful. The facial was equally amazing I almost feel asleep it was so relaxing. The lunch we we served was delicious. We are already planning on going back I definitely recommend this spa.

EDIT: The spa responded promptly and confirmed that the noise mentioned below was not within their control. I have added a star to reflect this.My boyfriend and I had a couples massage at The Retreat today. I so want to be able to give this place 5 stars, because the massages themselves were stellar and so were our therapists. However, about halfway into the session someone upstairs began stomping, slamming cabinet doors, walking back and forth across the room, etc. I know this is a subjective issue and many people may not be bothered by noise like that, but part of the reason I booked them for today was because I’m in the home stretch of undergrad finals and wanted an hour to turn my brain off. I have no clue whether the upstairs is leased to someone else or whether it’s storage or other spa rooms, but the noise was so terribly loud that even in spite of my therapist doing a lovely job I struggled to relax. I read through a few reviews and am surprised to not see anyone mention this, and when I say I don’t love skewing this spa’s high star rating average I mean it. If the noise had been intermittent or quieter then 4 stars may have been more appropriate, but it was pretty much constant and quite loud/creaky. If the upstairs is part of this spa and they can control it then I’m quite disappointed in the business for not having a more controlled environment; if it’s out of their control, at least have your therapists offer their clients ear plugs? I’m pretty noise sensitive and my boyfriend could sleep through a construction zone, but he actually mentioned it to me first after we finished.Like I said, the massage itself was everything I wanted and the faults of our visit were absolutely out of the control of our therapists; it was just quite disappointing to not be able to relax completely because of someone with lead feet above. Long story short, if you really don’t mind/get distracted by loud noises then 10/10, but if you’re like me then this probably isn’t the place for you, especially if there’s a chance you get one of those rooms.

The Retreat is by far the best spa I’ve been to in Birmingham or elsewhere. The people are friendly and professional. The focus is on wellness rather than beauty, which makes for a calm and nurturing experience. The atmosphere is lovely. Prices are good. Just don’t ask for Jill for your massage, because I need her!! She is awesome. I leave feeling blissful. Thank you, Retreat!

My friend and I enjoyed a massage today by Jess and Danielle! Honestly the best spa experience I’ve ever had, I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone. It was organized, calming, and the massage felt amazing. 5/5 stars from us!

Had an amazing day at the Retreat Day spa! Husband got me the luxury package as a Christmas present and I will be asking for it again next year! I have had over a dozen massages and Christy is by far the best Masseuse I’ve ever had. The facial and pedicure was spectacular as well. Highly recommended!!

My friends and I went together recently and purchased one of the spa packages. It was the best spa experience I have ever had. I enjoyed every bit of it and so did my friends. I was particularly impressed with the facial. I had previously never had one before. Will definitely be back in the future.

Love this place, everything was perfect. The atmosphere, the music and smell just perfect. Crystal clean. Everyone was super friendly and professional. I tried the massage, full body scrub, facial and scalp treatment and I’m satisfied with every service. Loved that I could find all the services I was looking for at one place. They also have different skin products to purchase. The prices are very reasonable for Birmingham, I would even say from the cheapest I found in the area, yet I had an amazing experience and definitely going back. Thank you

I’ve traveled all over the world and massages on my journeys are a must so while traveling home recently I did a quick google search and picked this place and o me o my what an wonderful experience!I was treated by Jordan and she is top tier with her hands and I wish I was able to get more than a hour. I’ll definitely be returning for her service and the overall facility was nice, clean, and the staff was welcoming too.

I really love this location- it’s not far off the interstate, but feels very secluded. I’ve gotten massages and facials here and enjoyed both. Staff was kind and accommodating. I went shortly after having a new baby, and my massage therapist went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable and relaxed physically and mentally. Can’t wait to return!

Husband surprised me with a spa day here. What an amazing treat! Jennifer gave a relaxing facial. Dana performed the best massage I have ever had. This was my first time getting a couple massage. We did the 60 minutes but, I should have done the 90 minutes. I was stressed out before the massage but, very relaxed after the massage. The environment was relaxing and our massage therapists was Great.. Thank you ladies for making our experience wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Dana has the most magical hands for a great deep tissue massage. Ive already scheduled my next appointment! I dont much else about the spa, but had a gift card from Fathers Day to here, and used it for a massage today.. worth every penny and then some!

Very pleased that I got in on the day of (Sat). Good location for me . Atmosphere was nice and I was very pleased with Christy, my massage therapist . I was worried she wouldn’t be firm enough , but she did a great job . I liked some stretching she did along with the massage . I’m picky and I give her an A 😊 happy for a new place. First experience was good !

I own Birmingham Wellness Massage. However some days when we are full, we need a 2nd wellness place to recommend. Jill has created a beautiful place. I recommend The Retreat Day Spa when you are looking for more of a spa setting, not just a massage therapy clinic. I know their therapist, Brent Gage as well! Brent is a wonderful therapist!

I just had my first massage here and had the best experience! I saw Jessica and she was phenomenal. I’ve been dealing with a pain in my shoulder on a daily basis for months and after my massage today is the first time that I haven’t felt at least some sort of pain associated with that area. I will definitely be coming back as well as referring friends and family!

My husband and I did a couples massage and it was fantastic! Both therapists were knowledgable and we felt relaxed and loose afterwards. The spa is decorated beautifully and is warm and inviting. I even booked a massage for my mom when I left because I knew she would be well taken care of there!!!

I had the best experience here! I had booked a facial with Anetta and was given the best care and it was so relaxing! The only regret I have is that I didnt plan enough time to relax on the porch afterwards! Next time, I will plan that in so I can enjoy a drink and enjoy the nature views.Anetta provides so much detailed care, customizing the facial to your skin concerns or ambitions. The products she uses are also gentle and work well on my skin. My skin was absolutely glowing and my acne had calmed down afterwards (my biggest skin concern). I also loved the foot massage and hot towel she provided as part of the hour long facial! Wow! definitely the cherry on top of the overall experience.The rest of the staff is also very kind and friendly, and am so excited to go back again soon. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite spas in Birmingham. Love the atmosphere and staff. I expect nothing less but amazing from Mia for my nails. I enjoyed an amazing facial from Kay. Very attentive to your skincare needs. Safe precautions/procedures during this pandemic.

I was gifted a spa day for Christmas. I finally got around to using it 6 months later. I have only had one previous spa experience and was not overly in a hurry. Now, having been to The Retreat Day Spa, I wish I could go every week! I loved my experience and have already referred them to a few of my friends and will continue to. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

I have been a regular client at Retreat for over two years now. I go in every 6 weeks for a facial and they have completely changed my skin! Not only do they provide me with so much knowledge about my skin and how to best maintain in between facials, but they have helped me change over all of my skincare products to Eminence Organics and I’m a fan for life! Taking harsh chemicals out of my daily skincare routine has made the biggest difference and the products are more effective than anything else I’ve ever used. I just saw them a few weeks ago for a Botinol Facial right before my wedding, and my skin was GLOWING!

I never got the opportunity to get services at this spa which was very disappointing. I was planning a birthday weekend for myself and really wanted to go to a spa which by the way I have never been to one. I searched online and this spa caught my attention and I was willing to drive 2 1/2 hrs to Birmingham. I called a week ahead of time to make an appointment and was told with the package I wanted I needed to call 2-3 weeks ahead. I was very disappointed because I wanted to feel like I was on a retreat. Luckily I found another spa that accepted my appointment closer to home and I wont be spending as much money.

This place is a sweet little haven to hide away in for a premier experience. I have had the pleasure of meeting the massage therapists and owner who are all delighted to see me every time I come through their doors. The couples massage my husband and I recently shared was a peaceful, relaxing and destressing experience like nothing else. I have also purchased skin care after consulting with the asthetician on staff. The Retreat is just that, a sweet little haven to escape, unwind and enjoy some.serious pampering. My husband and I will now be getting monthly massages instead of heading out for date nights.

Love coming here! Suzan has been doing my facials and I am so impressed. She does a great job at listening to your needs and then going above & beyond to help. Also love the skin care line they provide. Definitely recommend!

Love this place its calm & peaceful Ill definitely go back. 1st pedicure was wonderful. 2nd visit manicure the lady getting her pedicure was extremely loud (for no reason) w/her mom or someone but you cant help when a guest disregards that others are receiving services too - so she killed the whole vibe bcuz she chose to be OVERly loud 🙄 definitely going back for all of their services though love this place!

Just had the best massage of my life! Full Body Massage is no joke! She massaged every muscle and even those I didn’t know I had! Leave the spa today feeling totally relaxed with no pain at all! Thanks y’all !!

This spa is so special! I’ve been here more than once for a massage, facial, dermaplane and hot oil scalp treatment. Jackie is amazing and talented! The overall spa is relaxing and feels like a cabin retreat. Highly recommend.

The massage room was very cozy and relaxing. My masseuse was AMAZING and worked the muscle tension out of my neck and shoulder.
