I had never been here before. It was very spontaneous and they fit us in. I was expecting a very good foot massage, but it was so much more. The ambience was nice and the chairs super comfy. Loved it!
Asked for JUST a foot massage, on the phone when I made an appointment, when I walked in and checked in, and when I spoke to the lady who gave me my massage. Instead, the lady spent maybe 5 minutes on my feet, and the rest of the time man handling my body. I don’t know what training these people have but they did not do a good job, and apply unnecessary pressure to parts of the body that should never have that happen (like the lower back). I do NOT recommend this place.
I came for therapeutic vs relaxing. I asked for firm/ hard pressure - not for the faint of heart. My masseuse did an exceptional job with very healing energy. Yes, it hurt at times, but that is what needs to happen to release the knots. If you need serious help with a certain area, ask for medium/ hard pressure. If you want to relax, I’d ask for light pressure. Don’t be afraid to speak up, they are very kind and accommodating.
I forget the mans name I saw there but he did an amazing good job on my foot rub. He found the spots on his own to relieve my pain! Highly recommend!
Ive been going to this business for about 6 years. Both locations. Usually it has been very dependable. Until yesterday. I had this male practitioner who just did not care and didnt care that I could tell. They have a pretty standard massage routine which is generally fantastic. This guy barely touched my face and neck. Just wiped his hands on my hair to the point of irritation. It felt like he was just marking time. My arms and shoulders got a tepid maybe 10% effort and then he starts having a conversation with the guy working next to him. And STOPS MASSAGING. I finally reach up and move my eye covering and stare at him and he begrudgingly goes back to the sub par minimum. At least no longer having a chit-chat. I asked him to go harder and he adjusts slightly. Still not even what Id call light pressure. Im a training LMP who went to Heide Brenneke in Seattle. I actually know what Im talking about as we evaluate each other as part of the education. He obviously decided my back was the place to try and then does this inconsistent abrasive mess of poking.I was mostly mad and frustrated. The very nice lady at the front desk asked me how it was. I couldnt lie. She was sympathetic and asked me about what happened and knew who I was talking about but still asked me 4 times if I wanted cash back to tip him. I usually tip $20 there but I only gave him $10 and frankly I shouldnt have given him anything. Im mad. Its the next day and 8 have bruises on my back where he decided to do a last minute whatever the heck that was. It wasnt shiatsu or acupressure just a mess. So Im bruised but didnt actually get anything resembling a massage. Maybe he hates his job or was having a bad day or thought I wouldnt be able to tell he was phoning it in but the business needs some sort of customer service policy when a massage goes off the rails that badly.Inexcusable.Definitely by far the worst massage Ive gotten there and the worst massage Ive ever had.He looked to be in his late 50s early 60s thinning hair. The front desk lady said they just brought him over from Nampa but luckily I always go to the same guy in Nampa who is fantastic. I dont think Ill go to Boise again since that guy is there and frankly I didnt think the situation was handled well.A massage should bring relaxation not annoyance.
Here is the real deal story. If you have $30 that is burning a hole in your pocket, then spend it here, however, if you are looking for by-the-book, Chinese massage, this is not the place for you, consider it more of a Cliff Notes version. (I should mention a tip would be in addition to the $30, and they prefer cash for the entire transaction.)What I liked, and maybe because Im on the weird side, is how shady it is. No really, there is no name exchange, only a phone number, and you do need to make a reservation so know that. Its dark and you are getting a massage with the music of, for example, a Chinese calming version of sounds of slience over the speakers, and all the other patrons, and their muted noises of settling in. Its kind of interesting to hear someone snoring, someone softly moaning from their back massage? in the next room, your own body getting smacked a bit, that was my favorite, we expected part, actually, and the whispers in Chinese. I think they are speaking Chinese, they are literal whispers here and there, so I couldnt listen too hard so I hope Im accurate. Its dark so I couldnt really see their faces to tell otherwise :)I like that while your feet rest in a tub of perfectly tempered water, you get a once-over on every other body part.**Ladies, dont wear a razor back bra like I did, that caused some confusion, extra whispering with the neighbor, Im guessing for work-around suggestions, and then finally a bit of shoulder massage loss due to access issues which probably only I would giggle about. This place is more about an experience than just getting an hour long foot massage, just keep that in mind and yes, Ill go back another time.
This is one of my favorite places to get a foot massage! Great prices and I always walk out of the door feeling so relaxed and refreshed!
What a pleasant surprise, Had the foot massage and it was incredible.Included more of body .parts for full relaxation..I will be returning.
This is one of my favorite places to go for a massage my family has been coming here for years. Highly recommend. It is in a large room with multiple massage tables, you dont dress down so id recommend a tank top and shorts.
My mother and I went to get a foot massage. We were not expecting a full body situation. Mine was not too bad but hers was awful and ended up causing her a lot of pain, enough she had to see a chiropractor. The person working on her was trying to pop her neck and back and they just don’t have the certification or education to do that and it showed now that she is in serious pain. It was far tougher than we expected and it was not communicated what they were planning on doing.
Thank you, xie xie.For 20+ years pre-Covid, I would get at least one massage a month; sometimes more than one depending on how stressful my life was at the time. It is one of the tools I use to help maintain my sanity and keep the doctors at bay.I have my own table and am trained in various massage and healing techniques, but I find I cannot give myself a complete treatment. What that all means is I can usually tell the minute someone touches me whether they are a true healer. Sometimes, their behavior tells me before I even get touched that they are not true healers. Many are trained, but lack the intent and shen (heart/mind complex). As a result, they follow a certain unaltered routine on every body that they touch. The minute I was touched here, I just wanted to melt into the table. I knew I had found a healer. Within the first half hour I had become one with the table and was struggling against a losing battle to stay awake. As the massage went on, it was clear this guy (sorry did not get his name) was trained in both Tui Na and Thai (two of the modalities I am trained in). It was also apparent he has the shen and intent to help others heal. He was clearly adapting his routine and technique to the feedback my body was giving him. It gave me that much more of a reason to trust him and to surrender to what he was doing to me.They offered a private room with clothes off and the use of oil. However, all of my training has involved fully clothed patients/victims and no oil. Thus, I opted for what I consider traditional healing massage; that is to remain in the public room with clothes on.They seemed to get a kick out of me responding to them and attempting to communicate with them in Mandarin. The fact that I was able to put a smile on their faces just made the experience that much better. I am a firm believer in giving back to those that give, and these people have made it a career to give of themselves to others.Their prices are standard and reasonable. I have seen some places in this area charging $140 for a 90 minute treatment. You could not even find those prices in a larger metropolitan area. Also, my standard tip (even to those that I would never return to) is $40-$60. If the house is taking $140, it is more difficult to keep to my standard tipping especially since most houses in this and other geographic areas only take about $100.I am so glad to have been recommended to try this place. It will be part of my monthly routine for health maintenance, and I would recommend it to anyone searching for true healers.
We were recommended this place by Mrs Boise, and tried to walk in one other time, but today the stars were aligned for my wife and I to get hour massages. We walked in and it was lovely, a nice open area for multiple massages, and then private rooms for perhaps longer massages which is where we were directed. The massage therapist were obviously well trained, but the communication was limited. My therapist at one point left the room unannounced and left me wondering if the massage was over. Same thing happened to my wife but a few moments before, and her therapist came back with warm cloths. That was the only oddity and the only reason I didnt give 5 starts. If your masseuse leaves the room, you should be told I will return with warm cloths, just relax.Highly recommend.
This was my first full-body massage, and its made me afraid to try it ever again. I visited the Boise location. The masseuse was kind, but wasnt a very gentle man, his medium pressure was incredibly rough. He asked me once or twice if I was okay, and each time I replied that I was fine. I gritted an beared the pain, thinking maybe i was just extremely tight, and also didnt feel comfortable voicing my concerns with the language barrier. The next day I woke up extremely sore, and had tingling nerve pain from my hips down and it made it difficult to do my serving job.
Hard pressure = Sadistic level. DO NOT ASK FOR HARD UNLESS YOU ARE READY FOR PAIN.On a whim, my girlfriend and I decided to get 60 min foot reflexology massages to celebrate the Friday night. Having been to other local reflexology massages, we went to see how this location was. We entered the room which was surprisingly empty and prepared for the massages. The front desk asked what level of pressure and, since most places are too light pressured, casually replied that firm/hard would be good. The front desk attendant disappeared to retrieve the masseurs. In contrast to the spa music, there was yelling in the backroom - we must have cut their smoke break short as when they arrived reeking. They continued to talk loud as they prepared use for the massages, apparently angry based on the body language/tone of their voice (couldnt understand as they spoke a different language). At this point, we probably should have left. What followed was borderline torture and nowhere near what was expected to be a relaxing massage. Using their knuckles to pull apart the tendons in my feet, it was excruciating. Equally painful was when they used elbows and fingernails to massage my calves. Everyone understands what and where pressure points are. It literally felt like these were being targeted. That hour of pain lasted an eternity. You might ask why didnt I leave. During these excruciating moments, I rationalized that perhaps I was really tight or that the pain was justified in getting better. By pain I dont mean wincing. I was seeing bright stars behind my eyelids because of how tight I had them shut because of the level of pain.During the massage, a few others entered and got massages. I wish I had warned them because when asked for the level of pressure, they asked for hard. Later during the massage, someone actually made the comment that the masseur was literally hurting them and that it wasnt a massage. I too probably should have said something but just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. Its possible that a soft pressure massage would actually be tolerable/enjoyable. Seeing that others were also experiencing the same issue, if sounds like those who work there must enjoy giving a sadistic level of pain giving massages. Seriously, its been two days, I have bruises on my legs and traps from where I was PUMMELED. Borderline assault. If you really want to see how bad it is, be my guest but it was horrendous.
I was hoping for a really good deep tissue massage for my feet. I guess I should have read the reviews before I went. I thought it was just a foot massage, so when the receptionist asked me if I wanted light, medium or hard, I said hard. Big mistake! I tried to be okay with it for the top half of my body, but when he got to my legs, I finally had to tell him softer. It was not softer. I felt like someone was trying to torture me. He literally punched my hands and bottoms of my feet. My feet never got that much attention (maybe thats a good thing). When I was asked to roll over onto my stomach, the person started breathing heavily like he was enjoying inflicting pain on me. My body started bruising immediately after I left this place. I dont know if the medium or light are any better, but I am not willing to find out. The whole experience was strange and uncomfortable.
The massage is ok, but it is weird that they force you to givefbe masseur the tip instead of just letting me write it in or place giving them cash. I do tip and I usually give 20-25% but they feel it should be more.
Excellent quality for the price! Always about their technique. I love that they massage the entire body even though its a foot massage. My favorite part is soaking my feet in the tub of hot water while the rest of my front gets some attention. The face feels amazing! Everyone needs to try this place, but not if youre a weakling. They really dig into tight muscles.
I had previously been to the Magical Foot Spa many times and mostly my experience was good, but this last time was my last. The massage started 15 minutes late, it was poor massage, and after the massage the therapist gave me a dirty look when I tipped her, like it was a joke and not enough. The tip was 20%. They now charge you to use your credit card too! Go somewhere else for a massage!
Loved the quietness, comfortableness and the great messages. It is more than your feet being massaged. You remain dressed, but need to have sleeveless tops and pants that can be pushed up to your knees. Or, wear shorts or knee length pants. You can request medium or hard massage. I did a medium, it was great! Have been there about 3 times before. Have given gift certificates twice and plan to give another one soon. Will accompany that person as well.
I just moved from Cali and wanted to get a massage. Last Monday, when I made the appointment, the receptionist recommended Alysa. I had a body massage with her and it was not what I expected. Mainly because she was breathing really loud during the massage, which made me very uncomfortable. Also her massage wasnt all that impressive. I dont know why the receptionist recommended her but I will give them another shot becuse the shop was clean and relaxing.
Came in from a friend referral and I was not disappointed. I did a foot massage for one hour and they rubbed my whole body (deep tissue). It was very relaxing and what I loved is that they dont talk to you, they just focus on the massage. Definitely a good bang for your buck, I recommend wearing shorts and a tank top or loose shirt. Cant wait to go back and do a full body! Thanks again!!
I have experienced several massages of this type. Normally love them. This place is the worst. I hold no ill regard to the language barrier. But I have never had such careless effort. Pulled hair 3 times, hit me in the head more than once. Just not focused. Zero attention to detail....even gave them a 2nd chance, thinking it was just an off day...nope least amount of attention paid is the norm.
I have had foot massages around the world and this place, and masseuse, does not come close. Another reviewer described it as a cliff note and that almost does the service justice. Poor massage because, well I cannot tell you why except maybe lack of training. 3% credit card transaction fee, tips have to be given in cash directly to the person who does the massage. That led to an expression of disdain by one of the staff followed by derisive discussion with the other staff. Poor service, poor attitude, poor business practices. We do not recommend. Go to Best Massage by the mall, they are fantastic.
This is my favorite place to come get a massage. They do a wonderful job and you can’t beat the price! The environment is relaxing and everyone is very friendly. Their service is amazing and they’re very responsive and easy to work with when it comes to scheduling. I recommend them to everyone I know that likes massages!
We brought our baby in while he was sleeping, thinking hed sleep the whole time. He woke up about 10 mins in and I couldnt relax. I was so worried he would cry and disturb other patrons. The front desk lady grabbed him, played, and fed him so we could relax. Talk about customer service! We wont bring him in again because I couldnt relax. Bad mom moment. We tipped $40 just because the guys did so great. Definitely recommend. My husband and I got the hour long foot massage but they do they whole body. Definitely coming back. Relaxing, obviously accommodating, great customer service.
This place is a hidden gem! I do recommend you bring a sleep mask.
Been coming here for over 3 years. Service is good, pricing great and able to schedule the same day works for me. Clean and mostly quiet even though foot massage is in large open room.
Great place for same day massage. Love the way they put your feet in tub of warm water when you arrive. A whole body massage but you do have clothes on, I wear loose top so they can get shoulders. Love it!
Came in when my regular place blew off our appointments. I am SOOO happy they did. Magical Foot Spa is truly magical!! Polite service, calm, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. There isnt a lot of chit chat during my services which I love. I left feeling like a new woman. Even my man was singing their praises. I will most definitely be back.
This place delivers! You basically get an hour long full body massage but with clothes on and in an open, dimly lit room along with other patrons. Comparing stories with others, it seems that every experience is different but totally worth the $30. It’s way more than just a foot massage and the best part is the how they start with your feet in warm water!
I love this place. We have been to the Nampa and Boise locations. Staff are always friendly. The foot massages are always actually a full body massage and fabulous!
My first visit to the spa I expected a foot massage. 1 Hour foot massage includes a neck, head and hand massage. (This is a reflexology deep tissue massage) Arms legs and then feet. They then flip you after knocking you out (to sleep). Then they work on you neck back and legs. I suggest you come in shorts and guys loose the shirt. Ladies wear a sports bra. This is a great place to come after a long week and knock the lead out of your body. For just 30 dollars I felt like I got the complete treatment. Open chairs (looked like 10 stations) and private massage tables (2-3) are in a large main room. Low lights and music.. lay back and enjoy.
My mother goes to this place often. She likes the service of the masseuse named Alyssa, who speaks English fluently and does a good job on the massage. However, she is irritated by the lady at the reception, who (as I’ve seen in other reviews) always asks if my mom gave the masseuse a tip. This has gotten so excessive to the point that my mother doesn’t want to answer that (of course, my mother gives tips to people who deserve it, in this case, she always gives the masseuse a big tip). Other than that, good service.
I really got a work-over here. My back and neck have been trashed for 40 some of years and that was the first time Ive ever had a full body massage. He found all of the main problem areas and really worked hard to get the knows or with whatever it took. I dont have anything to compare it to but I felt like overall it helped although I hurt for about 4 days after the massage.
Worst “massage” I have ever had! I had been to the Nampa location and the lady that worked on me was fantastic. So for my birthday I made the mistake of going to the Boise location. Worst mistake ever! The location smells horrible!! The man who did my massage spent more time spreading lotion on my legs. And running his fingers up and down my leg. He was not massaging anything! And when the reception came back to change the bedding next to me I asked her if he was new and she laughed and said no. I gathered she told him because after that it turned to a Shiatsu massage And he used all he weight to press down on my back. He didn’t stop even after I said ouch. When I was getting ready to just get up and leave he finally stopped and slapped my bottom and said your done. Now I have bruises all over my back. When I left I again attempted to talk to the receptionist. And all she wanted to know was who was paying and if we had change for a tip. The ladies maybe better but the men are not. My husband also had a massage next to me and said the old man put his finger in his ear, which idk what that has to do w massage. It was horrible experience. And they could care less. Horrible
Some friends and I scheduled foot massages together (5 of us). The morning that we were going to go, the girl who was scheduling called to tell us that they wouldnt have enough people there to do our party, and that they could only accommodate 4 of us. One of the friends volunteered to go across the street to get a mani/pedi. The man who gave me my 1 hour foot massage did a combination of relaxing deep massage and really terrible digging into tendons. After the service was over, I tipped him $5 and he huffed and told me that I should give him $10. When I told him that he did a good job and thanked him for his service, he nearly bent over double and huffed to show his disapproval. I will definitely not be going back to this location.
As a longtime waitress I have pain in my hips, wrists & feet. I went in as a first timer & was unbelievably surprised! The detail put into an hour massage, left me on cloud 9!! Highly recommend this to anyone in pain or anyone just wanting to treat themselves! 💯
Very nice, some massages too much could feel fingernails on skin. They were playing Christmas music in April. Took 4 friends 2 enjoyed 2 said would not go back.
I have been here a few times. Its hit or miss with who you get. Just tell them when they are being too rough. Ask for a non smoker. For the price, its a great place to get a rub. It doesnt come close to a spa experience but its not. Its a walk in, get rubbed, leave.
One of the best massage places I’ve ever been too!!! 5 stars! Lee did an amazing job pushing those knots out! Service was excellent!
More than a foot spa! These amazing people will also pay attention to your legs, neck, and back.I HIGHLY recommend the 1 hour foot spa. Dress comfortably and be prepared to fully relax.
This place is the best...but with the axe throwing place having moved in next door it is quite loud to hear axes being thrown against the adjoining wall while youre trying to relax. This is a favorite place but the new neighbor is a bummer :(
I like this place. I think they give good foot massages. I just wish that they would make sure it’s a full one hour -start to finish.
Outta body experience! Highly recommend this place especially after a stressful day(s). Soft, Medium or Hard pressure. I recommend hard if you think you can handle it. 🤣Thank you Lee!
Very relaxing. They dont target a specific area. I was with my husband and they talked and laughed with each other during the massage so it made me feel a little self conscious.
The massage was nice enough, but the masseuses get very upset if you don’t give them at least a $10 tip. They also charge a 3% fee for using a credit card.
The massage is good , but front desk staff are very rude , as you checked out and getting ready to leave they force you to go back inside and pay the tip inside , very rude and unprofessional .very bad customer service at the front desk .
As I travel I look for hidden secrets in a town. I will be back to this place often. My husband and I stopped in for a foot massage and got way more than we had hoped for. After working almost every muscle in our bodies, we walked out rejuvenated. Thanks!
I am full term pregnant and super uncomfortable. Went here twice now to get some relief and they did such a great job! Excellent prices too. I will keep going.
Really authentic and well done Chinese style massage :) I lived in China for three years and it’s the same as when I lived their. The price is fantastic for what you get
I loved going to this spot. After the COVID, they stopped doing the whole foot massage. No ears, face or hair. They just do your body now.😢
Excellent value. I opted for the full body massage and all the aches and pains disappeared. Almost time to schedule again.
Great atmosphere. Honestly, best foot massage Ive ever had. And definitely returning!
Amazing value! This is way more than a foot massage! An hour long for 30.00, and your shoulders and back are included.
Excellent massage for the money. We called and got in the same day, glad we did! I would definitely go again.
Wonderful experience! Relaxing, efficient, clean. Superb! I’ll be back!
Omggggg!!! so gooodddddd I love peole here so much! I come to do massage every single month ahhhh so addicted to it
Great Chinese style massage. Very knowledgeable on their acupuncture points. Very quite and relaxing.
I left more tense than I went itin. I’ve been to the one in nampa and I love it there, so I thought that I would get some what the same experience and I did not. I was very disappointed.
Always fantastic foot or full body massages . Im always able to get in right away . I appreciate the dim, quiet atmosphere.
The very best full body and foot massage you could ever get. The value is amazing too!
Super affordable! You get a really good foot and a brief body massage. Very relaxing environment.
Great place to relax! Best foot massage I have had.
Quiet, relaxing atmosphere. I always leave here feeling refreshed and relaxed. Highly recommend calling in to make an appt.
They are always so polite, and do an amazing job everytime! My go to once a month (:
GREAT!!!!! Very Relaxing!! Not only work on your feet, but face, neck, legs and back. Cant wait to go back again soon!!!
My first time for anything like this and it was wonderful. I wore shorts under my pants (mid-February) which I will do again until it’s shorts weather.
A great place for a foot massage! Clean, fresh towels, etc and super friendly service.
I love this place! They almost always have openings for the next day, their prices are really good, and the staff is very friendly.
My roommate and I stopped in for the first time this evening. It was a wonderful massage!
One of my favorite massages ever. Its a great deep and relaxing massage.
The foot massage was amazing! Love the ambiance and the people.
Never have done this before. It was an amazing experience, something Im going to make a habit of. Thank you.
Love this place! It’s very relaxing. Fun for a group. Can’t beat the price.
Not good. Mostly just oil rub. Not much massage.
Great place to spend a hour and $30! (Plus tip! Always tip, thats just the right thing to do)
I am a big fan of this place, during weekends make sure that you book ahead. The spaces fill quick.
I always get in right away and they always do a good job, no complaints 👌
Simply good massage. No sketchy stuff, and priced right
Affordable. Dont have to get undressed. Wear shorts. Great value.
