I’ve been here already 3 times and today they didn’t let me in with my friends. No reason at all. I asked and they said they can just decide who enters and who doesn’t. The new bouncer was really aggressive and said to try again the next day. I brought my friends visiting NYC to that place because I liked and I thought it was a fun and diverse environment. Unfortunately, I’m not coming back again anymore and I’ll make sure to tell people about my experience. Really sad and unfair situation; they shouldn’t hire homophobic people, that’s how I felt at the end. So if there was the possibility, I would give ZERO stars to that club.

Let me just preface this by saying that I am a huge fan of Eli having been to many of his events in the past, so it is quite shocking and disappointing that I am writing this review. I had heard good things about Elis new club but hadnt experienced it yet, so I decided to brave the rain, forego other July 4th festivities, and go solo to experience Gabriela for the first time. However, when I arrived at ~11 PM, I (along with a group of 5 other guys who got there ahead of me) was turned away quite condescendingly by the bouncer (oldish, bald, gay (?) dude with glasses) for who knows what reason. It makes no sense since the venue seemed quite empty actually... like I said, this was around 11 PM, on Thursday July 4th when people were doing other festivities, and it was raining as well. Only other explanation is the bouncer was discriminating based on race, gender, or sexuality. I do not identify as a woman or a gay white male unfortunately. Eli, please remove this clown from their position lest others have have the same awful experience I just had. The RA description for this event says Everyone is welcome, unless they are unwelcoming, and I made the trek to experience Gabriela BECAUSE of the seemingly inclusive atmosphere and LOVE for music/humanity/life that seemed to be part of its ethos (this was Romance Thursday for gods sake). Now I am instead left with a bad taste in my mouth, and talking to others I have heard similar stories. If the ethos of Gabriela now supports discrimination and a culture of exclusion, please update the RA description so music and people lovers like me can avoid this place and dont have to deal with this ever again.Edit: Sad that this review continues to get likes every Thursday/weekend. Management clearly doesn’t care and this will continue to help a problem…

I’ve been here twice and had an amazing time. The third time I went here with my partner I experienced enough homophobia in the lineup at the door to make me leave. I was very disappointed because I’ve always experienced this place as very affirming and welcoming, but the bouncer and guests in line really made me feel unsafe and unwanted, so I left. I hope this can be addressed so I can come back and enjoy the wonderful music, but you lost a customer tonight because of your crowd Gabriela’s.

Amazing club, but DJ was slacking on that 2:00 in the morning, cmon guys , bring better djs that want to play tracks all the time, that try to trick the crowd out, this person was playing 1 track at a time, adding no effects but just blasting the highs!!! Disappointed. If you want a fire dj , hit me up, loupolo2889 on Instagram… stop being lazy dj

We started coming here a few times about 2 months ago. We used to be regulars at Kinfolk which was here before. Were happy to see the space open and being used again. I definitely like what theyve done with the space and utilizing the upstairs which wasnt opened to people with Kinfolk, I like the added spiral staircase as well. The music is definitely our scene and the crowd is great.

Weird behavior by the bouncers. They were outright racist and didnt let my Indian friends in. They literally let all my white friends in and split our group up. All my Indian friends had to go home. It totally ruined our birthday party

Great place if you can make it past the bouncers. Theyve been rude (understatement!) two out of three times Ive been there with border-line racist tendencies making clear who goes in and who doesnt. Pretty sure this wasnt the Gabriela that Eli Escobar wanted to build.

The sound in the back room is peak, the music is very well curated, the crowd is so friendly, and the bar is probably the most efficient Ive ever seen. Even with a packed house there is NO line for a drink because the bartenders are fantastic and the payments are just tap and go. Enjoy this perfect confluence of factors while it lasts.

My friend, and 10 other woman got their phone stolen. Staff seemed unfazed, like it was a regular occurrence? It was heartbreaking to watch. If management has video of the night of Friday the 9th I hope that they would help show the thief’s to the police.Although it may be out of their control, it should be known that this is a spot that your phone could be stolen so you should keep your purse tight.

Had a nice time here Saturday night with a great dj, but wooof this young crowd made it hard to have fun. Folks in circles talking so loudly on the dance floor, a group of guys against the dj booth just gossiping and showing each other pictures of women on their instagrams with the brightness all the way up.A woman holding her phone high to record the dj, for the better part of an hour. Every few minutes around to record the crowd, including me directly behind her, dancing with my girlfriend - If my wife sees that video I’m screwed. So decent ambiance excellent music good space- but really tough to get lost in the music with this young 20s crowd with absolutely no dance floor etiquette

The two old guys at the front door are an absolute joke and have no clue what they’re doing. I had a party of 5, waited 30 min on line and then they told us we need some girls to help the ratio. Fine…we got 3 girls, waited 10 min and then told us we can’t go in at all.

I handed the bouncer my ID, he looked at it, then refused to let me in. I asked him why and he said the font “looked weird”. This is my real ID. I asked him to scan it and he refused. Unsure why he wouldn’t let me in. Not coming back.

This place does not let any groups of only guys in. Waited in line for 20 minutes just to get to the front and get rejected. Was confused at first, then I saw it happen to other groups after.Other reviews mention the same thing.

The new bridges and tunnels bar. Brooklyn crowd - avoid. Bouncer gets paid off and the line doesn’t move because of it. Not a club for the people - super disappointing that more of these establishments keep ending up in Brooklyn.

I attended a traveling party called Funkbox at this space. It was absolutely beautiful in there. The drinks were perfect and they have sparkling coconut water!!! It was amazing . The staff is awesome and attentive.I highly recommend following their social to keep up with events. Its a great space for group of friends or even date night 😉

They did not charge the white girls walking in to the club, but as soon as me and my girlfriend who are hispanic walk up, they close the gate on us and he starts asking if we can afford the cover. Which was a 10 dollar charge, extremely rude and had racist undertones saying words like “are you sure you people can afford the cover charge.”

Love the spot and the muzik is fantastic. Ive been a fan of Eli Escobar for many years now and so I knew this would be a great spot. Dance, sit and chill or whatever... The sound system is dope and I love the intimate space as opposed to a colossal dance floor. My type of space and vibe, highly recommended if youre in the mood for great muzik w/out the gargantuan space.

Great sound system, great message to the club scene and I hope it prevails but Im terrified that people will come here only for the reduced cover costs and not invest in the business through their beverage program. Im sitting here looking at an empty bar that is not busy while the entire venue is full at 1am, please support businesses like these.

The sound and setlist are amazing but the dance area is too tiny, miserably packed by 11. Small, weak drinks. Expensive door cover. Not a place I would go to let loose to dance music. It does look like a pretty venue for private events.

Last night was magical. The lighting was crazy and it was Thursday night so he was spinning vinyl and the music was just phenomenal and out of this world. There was a certain energy in this club that I’ve never seen before. It was unreal. I’ve been to a lot of the clubs in Williamsburg, East Williamsburg and Bushwick and this is now one of my favorites. Will definitely be back!

An awesomely curated atmosphere, friendly staff, and reasonable prices made this new club an instant hit for us. Plenty of seating in the front half for a great lounge-like experience (if you get there early enough to snag a booth), and the dance floor in the back is legit and sounds great. We visited for Romance Night on Thursday (italodisco, 80s, etc) and loved seeing Eli Escobar spin such a killer selection.

Our friends and I were very excited about going to Gabriela. We have seen Eli multiple times and absolutely love his music/shows at other clubs. However, our experience at Gabriela not so much. At Gabriela, our experience started at the door when we were told that we couldn’t preview the venue prior to entering (which at the end of the day we understand). But immediately after suggesting this they said “guest list only” to us and disregarded any other entries. Found this to be very condescending and disrespectful to our group. I would not come back here based on the customer service. The club was otherwise great and we all respect Eli as an owner but staff needs to be more accommodating and respectful to patrons.
