Went for a Sunday brunch and got the Huevos Rancheros and was pleasantly surprised by how good and delicious it was. I also had the Gypsy Juice as my beverage, along with some Pastelitos (beef) shared for the table. Those were just OK to me and Ive had better elsewhere. My party and I sat outside for a nice day out on the patio and some people watching, and despite being the only ones out there while we were dining, we still had great service from our server.
Such a cool vibe in this place Im very glad we happened to stumble in during their Christmas party which was a lot of fun. Very friendly staff and overall welcoming and chill atmosphere. This will be my go to hang out spot in Buffalo. Delicious food especially the wings and Brussel sprouts! Cant recommend enough, also in a cool cool neighborhood
Decent place, love the décor. Very busy on Thursday nights for Karaoke. The patio area is a very nice chill and secluded vibe from the streets, private but not blocked off, given by the sheer curtains and slightly elevated patio deck. Security is there keeping an eye on things.
My friend recommended we go to this place and Im so glad we went originally. I never expected to have amazing food at a bar like this before! Just recently, I went back with her so Ive now dined here twice. There are lots of delicious vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. The atmosphere is unique. Note: the menu on the website has fewer options than the in-person menu and there is also a menu of daily specials given to you. 2 suggestions to the owners: 1) Update the online menu and 2) wipe down the tables well with a clean cloth (the table was sticky and smelled like strong vinegar).
I absolutely love this place. Tonight is my first time and Im having the time of my life! The burger and steak are great. It gets busy pretty fast! The water tastes good and not like gross tap water lol.Karaoke every Thursday.
I recently visited The Gypsy Parlor and had an amazing time! The atmosphere was filled with good vibes and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The decor was funky and eclectic, which added to the overall charm of the place. The food and drinks were delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. I especially loved the cocktails, which were expertly crafted and absolutely delicious. The live music and entertainment added to the fun atmosphere, making it a great spot to hang out with friends.I would highly recommend The Gypsy Parlor to anyone looking for a unique and lively experience. I cant wait to go back and enjoy more of what this awesome place has to offer!
Fun casual spot with excellent menu, far above typical bar fare. Service is always friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating is a bonus. Inside is a bit dark and stuffy but always seems to be hopping. One of my favorite neighborhood spots.
Ive been wanting to go here for awhile now. We decided to go to celebrate my birthday (a few days early.) First its in a sketchy neighborhood. I wouldnt leave my car unlocked, if you can find parking nearby. The table we sat at needed to be cleaned so that was my first turn off. Used the bathroom and the tila are different colors and theres pain smeared on the wall assuming to cover something up but its not the same green thats already there so it looks terrible.I got the shrimp tacos which were perfect. Only thing might be to get bigger tortillas since they didnt hold everything. My boyfriend got a steak sandwich which he said was over done and wasnt happy with the fries either. We both decided we may try it again one day but not in a rush to go back. I really wanted this to be a great place too.
Food was outstanding! We got the Trash Plate as well as the creole fettuccine and a pastillo. Hot and fresh and great portion sizes. I had dinner and lunch and it was amazing the next day. Jon was our server and he was fantastic. Took great care of us and gave us space when needed. The entire Bar/dining is so welcoming and warm. Its a bit dim in there but perfect when your on a date. Will return for sure!!
FANTASTIC Spot. Out of towners looking for a late night drink and food(since most things wanted to close at 10pm on Thursdays) this is a perfect night out. Busy area with a robust crowd. Loved the vibe - Karaoke night was so much fun. Bar tenders are friendly and make fantastic drinks! Cosmo was 10/10. Delicious food too!! It was a packed house when we went and honestly cannot wait to go back when were in town again!
Some of the nicest people in the industry at this place. Never had a bad meal, although did have something that was too spicy for me. Every person working there is exceptional, especially the owner and family. The atmosphere is creative, and they have live music some nights. The drinks are fun and inventive too, and theres Sunday brunch to boot!!! Solid choice.
My favorite place to bring someone from out of town. Always a great atmosphere and a friendly staff. It’s like an adult playground between the games and the events they have. Would recommend to anyone on their way through Buffalo or a local looking for a new spot to make their new regular spot!
This place was a great find the food is incredible and the staff was extremely nice. Prices were very reasonable and everything was extremely tasty. The menu however should come with warning labels because the quality and the quantity are definitely not represented with the prices. Single serve portions would probly feed a family of 4. The Raman tasted incredible but the bowl was more of a trough. If we are in the area again we will stop in and I highly recommend entire menu to anyone else
Fun place in the city.. dance eat &more on the weekends.. music eats at great $$$Love the ladies in their garb 🫵👍👍🎼🎶💃🏻🫵🎶🎼
THIS IS THE VEGAN SPOT OKAYY!!Please Read If Your A VeganOkay so, I recently became a vegan and Ive been struggling. I ABSOLUTELY HATE EATING LIKE A RABBIT but tonight everything has changed thanks to the Gypsy Parlor. So I was skeptical ordering out again because Bufdalo isnt the place where vegan food is widely accepted so the GOOD VEGAN options are limited. Im tired of processed or overcooked fake meat, Im tired of eating salads. What caught my attention at first was the vegan Black Bean Pastilitos. Im a big pastilito lover and I love black beans so I ordered two with a side of sweet potato fries and fried pickles. When I arrived, my order was ready and the bartender offered me a drink and a seat to watch the game so I stayed. The First thing I tried was the Fried Pickles, somthing I wouldnt normally order but as Im opening my palet I wanted somthing different. The pickles were steaming HOT, fresh and crunchy. The skin was flaky and golden and the dipping sauce was also vegan (explained by the waiter). This is when things got goodt, I didnt expect to demolish the entire order of fried pickles in one sitting but I was so captivated by how GOOD and FLAVORFUL they were. Its been soooooo long since Ive had somthing that was THIS GOOD and VEGAN because honestly, in my opinion, most vegan food lacks flavor. BUT NOT THESE FRIED PICKES 10/10.so now the waiter brings me this drink, it was somthing with black berries and tequila I honestly dont know, the game was on and at this point I was already dedicated to finishing the rest of that food.So I Buss open the sweet potato fries. This was another option I would normally bypass on a menu but i wanted somthing different. They were served as HOTT as the fried pickles and just as crunchy with a side of honey.OH MY GOD, 10/10 Them Damn Fries Knocked My Noodles BackI have never had sweet potato fries before but yeah, If I ever get them again Im ordering from hereNow, not to be to dramatic but I was kinda stuffed because the serving sizes were enough to feed a grown man and Im a smaller person, but I ordered another drink and the waiter brought me this Hot Applecider drink with rum in it I believeI dont even know at this point I was already 75% in and dedicated to clearing my plate .... so guess what.(Long dramatic pause)I BUSSED INTO THE PASTILITOS.(STILL HOTT)now, I was ready for this. I knew they were going to be just as good as the sides if not better but what I really loved about them were, They were filled and FAT. You completely get your moneys worth with them and they are Filling. 1 was enough for me but I ended up eating 4 In total. 9/10This was an experience I completely enjoyed, I had a terrible day. And I know this was a long post but this spot will be receiving so much money from me in the future they git it DOWN PACK when it comes down to Great VEGAN options and Awesome Friendly Service !!!!
A fun neighborhood bar with great staff, fun events, and incredible home-cooked style food. Great vegetarian and vegan options.
I wanted to try their food so, Im happy to say they have great food... A trash plate in Buffalo, be still my beating heart! Everyone working or dining in was wearing a mask which was awesome! The airflow was good, I believe there were outside seating. We were thrilled to be served by the owner and know that everything there is being maintained well. Now the environment.. theres a Zoltare! I love this place you should feel safe while dining here during pandemic dining. FYI I saw a sign about Sunday Brunches!!
We were traveling in from Schoharie and found this amazing little gem. The ambiance 10/10. Nice Gypsy vibes for this gypsy soul. Then we got the food and drink menu. The menu was diverse, rich in flavor and something for everyone. The food is as amazing! Often times when you find a place that puts all their effort in to a “look” or their menu has too many variety of things it’s not great. But we were blown away. Special shout out to Bob for making our experience even better. We’re only here for a few days but we will be back!
I got the vegan fried chicken sandwich and some cocktails. I love that they had n/a options! The bartenders were both really friendly too
Fantastic place for great food, and relaxing. Everything we had tasted freshly made.
This place has it all! A nice calming ambiance, delicious food & wonderful service. My niece & I came up from Ohio to visit my daughter & I wanted to treat them to dinner. My daughter eats a vegan diet, I dont care for seafood, and my niece will eat damn near anything, lol! I wanted to find a place with options we could all enjoy and I found this place on a quick Google search. The food was amazing! I even tried my very 1st black bean burger & it was delicious! It was served on an amazing roll. My daughter loved her vegan fried chicken sandwich, and the fries were great!! My niece had the Miso with tofu & slurped up every drop. Our waitress was funny & attentive and laughed with us when my niece admitted she didnt know what a mock-tail was. We sat & chatted a bit after dinner & never once felt rushed to free up our table. We will definitely be back!!
B.O.B. our server was Awesome, really knows how to get the attention of a group of ladies still amped up from a long day at work......They serve RC (Royal Crown) Cola so that was a pleasant surprise and my beverage of choice. Everyone was happy with their drinks. We all also enjoyed our food. I got the Spicy Shrimp Taco it was delicious, not very spicy though (Im an Irish Gal from South Buffalo who loves to feel the heat 🌶️), but it did have great flavor.Tip: if youre going there for a Group gathering call to make a Reservation, we got lucky on our Thursday outing.
We went for brunch today and it was amazing!! We all had a really great time. The service was amazing. They were super on top of making sure our water glasses were full and our adult beverages were being refilled if we wanted more. Honestly they have an amazing drink menu and I have not found a speciality drink that i have not liked. I came for drinks a couple weeks back and it was so fun. It was on TuTu Tuesdays and an Open Mic Night. The whole atmosphere was everything I have been looking for in a bar. I cant wait to come back to get a Tarot reading or for karaoke night. I love the Gyspy Parlor
The go-to restaurant for vampires and cave dwellers!!( P.s. Dont forget to bring your headlamp) It cant possibly be any darker in these dining rooms.I had the fish fry. It was good! We went back a week later. It was last summer 2022, and I ordered the trash plate. It was okay! The hamburger was well done 😔, macaroni salad is store bought (not homemade)
My friend and I went at the end of May because my friend was hungry and always wanted to try it since it has vegan food. So, we went. I did not get anything since I was not hungry when I went but honestly they just had limited options to choose from and none of the options at the time seemed appealing. Pictured is what my friend got and he also got plantains which were literally in a bowl of oil and wasn’t that great. I tried the fries that came with my friend’s food and they weren’t bad.
I love everything about this place. The food the atmosphere and the ppl are always a vibe. The food is always outstanding no matter the season or the cook. The owner Gabby is amazing. I highly recommend trying this place if u havent already.
Cozy, eccentric, charming divey atmosphere. bartenders are friendly and engaging.the food... the menu matches the ambiance, and the food is outstanding.
This is the most amazing place in buffalo for karaoke. Every thrusday night is a blur of patrons singing thier favorite hits. There are a few fantastic preformers here most nights. Mike and Meghan do some fantastic duos like every other week; so there is some legit preformances to be witnessed. Not to mention the service behind the bar is fantastic.
Discovered this place because it is located across the street from the record store on Grant Street. Great food and selection. Also a few draft beers on tap. We stayed for some of the open mic (Wednesday night) and plan to go to the Kareoke on Thursday. Nice stage and cool ambience. The Sunday brunch menu looks very good and starts at 11:00am.
Just an all around huge shoutout to this bar, we dont trust leaving our baby with a baby sitter yet and this place was so welcoming to myself, dad and the baby, while we got to celebrate a friends birthday. Little narrow but opens into a huge backroom with seating inside and outside. Pretty nice deck/patio to take a smoke break. Service was awesome, although packed with people they were great at recognizing who needed help and so sweet too. Heard a lot of complaints around the bar for how the short guy makes the herbal drink sour. Also shoutout to the nice security guard too. Good vibes all around. This atmosphere is awesome, if your looking for unique, they got it. Food came fast, got fried pickles which were awesome and the burgers are huge if your hungry! You guys rock, cant wait to come back.
Casual gay bar, patrons are mixed 20s and 30s. Pro: nice backroom stage, cheap drinks, secluded pool table. Con: dead most nights, unless theres a drag show.
Didnt try the food but it looked and smelled fantastic. The bar, however, was lively and had a number of unique cocktails. Service was friendly and quick - definitely a place to check out if youre in West Buffalo
My wife @deelightfullburlesque was invited to a show and we had such a great time, such a beautiful venue fun crowd
Always a great time whether busy or not, at Gypsy Parlor! Ask for Felicia! She’s friendly and attentive!
So where to start with the Gypsy parlor. I say that because this place just slaps! I am not a bar person per say but this place always has a place in my heart. The food here is amazing lots of different options. The drinks are always going to keep you in a great mood and the prices as well. Service is on point never letting you go without a drink or taking your order. If visiting Buffalo and you want a great local experience keep an eye out on their website they always have a different event going on.
UPDATED May 2022This place NEVER, but NEVER ceases to amaze me!The atmosphere, the hand-crafted cocktails, the service, the FOOD!Stopped in last week for their traditional Sunday Brunch and got a seat at the bar. Had dinner with friends the night before and HAD to go back!I had the Buffalo Spring Rolls which were to die for! Flaky light philo dough crust surrounding perfectly cooked and mouth-watering chicken dabbed gently with Franks sauce. Sublime...Friends raved about the other dishes as well and the fries were in a word done PERFECTLY!For Brunch with #1 son, the Giambotta was the most delicious meal Ive had in ages. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, the dusting of pecorino romano and parmesan cheese topped it off beautifully. It made this Italian staple NEXT LEVEL!Enjoy brunch with classic mimosas or their signature Breakfast Shots. Trust me...The Gypsy Parlor takes fine dining and cocktails to the ethereal plane. Jump on down to a revitalized and vibrant Grant Street ASAP!!!!P.S. Have your Tarot Cards read while youre there. Eerily accurate and wonderful!!!The best bar/restaurant in Buffalo. Period.
We always go when Peggy Farrell is singing. The hamburgers are great, the wine is very good for a bar and the service we had on June 30th was suburb!!! We had an awesome waitress who took care of our table of 10 WITHOUT writing down a thing and never missed a beat.
I am a long time patron of The Parlor.I have had the pleasure of watching the business grow and florish.,overcoming logistical challenges-a literal hands on transformation. The Parlor welcomes all, contributes to the changing dynamic of the neighborhood amd community. The owners and staff believe in the West Side of Buffalo, and want the area to thrive. The food is delicious, bar menu unique and creative...NA beverages available, the staff attentive, the owners deeply committed to providing a schedule of music and atmosphere of diversity .Visit and experience it yourself !
I came all the way from hamburg. Awesome ppl and drinks . Always a great time . Didn’t pay for 1/2 of the drinks so that was a plus .
Went with a friend for a Facebook meet up, and wasnt disappointed. Very cool place, ambiance is next level. Beautiful place with awesome drink options and delicious food.
I used to love Gypsy Parlor, but Im not sure why theyve started charging people $10 to get in. This happened a few times, and there was no event or performance there. One time was 9 pm on a Saturday night. Ten dollars to walk in the joint! Not for nothin, but whatever happened to ladies nights, or ladies getting in free? Were the ones spending money on cocktail after cocktail and tipping the bartenders well. Its kind of a turn-off, especially for a dive bar on the West Side that weve all been going to for years and years-- even when it was Ashleys! I hope management reconsiders charging this amount at the door.
This place always is consistent... phenomenal service , amazing staff,, the food here is legitimately amazing every single time , never had an order messed up which is beyond perfect, you wont regret coming here .
One of my favorite spots, its dimly lit, service is attentive and friendly, they have good music, they do live jaz, and karaoke on Thursdays. The food is consistent and delicious. Always recommend the pork ramen.
Make a reservation! I didnt, but the staff was so wonderful to accommodate us anyway. Atmosphere is great, food and drinks were fantastic, but it is a smaller place, so definitely plan ahead.
What an all around amazing gem of a place! We met a friend here and fell in love instantly. The vibes are unparalleled, staff and patrons alike have the best energy, and the drinks and food were both fantastic! Its in a great area with so much to experience! There is outdoor seating available as well!
Always good food. Love the staff
If you find yourself as a person that likes alternative music.bTechno. Different kind of crowd. Excellent food. Different food fair vegan food or just your gutter bar . Out of the general sense of places to go I recommend the Gypsy parlor to you. 100% my favorite place to go always a great crowd every bartenders amazing no matter who you get what day of the week it is food is out of this world its a 10 of 10 places to go If youre in Buffalo New York dont miss it. Its on Grant Street.
So nice. Interesting pub food. We had the Buffalo Chicken Egg roll and a Spicy Black Bean pastille. The drinks were great. The place is atmospheric and fun. We were there early and played a new board game we had just purchased from Gather & Game just down the street, while we had our drinks. Great staff.
Delicious meal, spectacular service and a gypsy atmosphere.. who could ask for more?Love this place! If your looking for somewhere vegetarian/vegan friendly their food is top notch, my hubby raved about the house made bean burger but that was just the one of the many offerings. I had a beef pastelillo and a side of rice and beans, everything was perfect. Lots of choices on the menu, I highly recommend this place!
Oh the food 🤤 being a vegetarian it can be hard to find good quality food at not an outrageous price but here you can! Please for the love to God, get the tofu miso ramen! I dont like miso but this is magic in your mouth.
Had an incredible time here for dinner. Such a diverse menu and all our meals were high quality and delicious. From ramen to a cheesesteak sandwich and fries. Excellent customer service from the bartender and the servers made us feel very welcome. Eclectic atmosphere. You won’t regret a trip here.
The food and drink here are amazing. The overall vibe of the bar is gypsy themed. Its a really cool locally owned spot with a ton of character. They have late night food options. They often have a DJ playing music on weekends. They have a tarot card reader as well. Largely, this place attracts good people. Not your typical college scene.
The Gypsy Parlor is definitely a unique place. Youll often see the same faces every time you visit. Kareoke and dance nights are fun although to dance you have to pay a 10$ cover fee on top of being super super crowded. I often come when its not super busy and enjoy a few drinks with friends. I think this place should always have security, Ive seen people pass out here and there are often people outside asking for change or cigarettes which can be frustrating. The food is good but takes a while with a full bar. The wait time is about 20+mins for food but with it. Bartenders are consistent with making drinks! Keep an eye out for creeps as you always should and enjoy your time!I give it a 3/5 stars only because the cleanliness of the place should be kept up more often than not.
I met friends here on Sunday whose only parameter was outdoor seating so I chose this place based on its proximity to where I was staying, what a find!! Great service and delicious food! The tiki masala eggs Benedict was delicious as was the ginger gypsy juice. Really impressed.
Im so in love with this place! I used to go here a lot more when I lived in the neighborhood, but unfortunately dont get to go as often. I have never been disappointed with the service all the food there. The specials are wonderful with a wide range of variety and interesting new dishes. If that doesnt work , their regular menu is also wonderful. The ambiance there is amazing for just relaxing. Music usually on point. Very comfortable sitting at the bar or sitting at a table. They do have a patio for the warmer months , although I have not had the pleasure of sitting outside since I tend to really like sitting at the bar with a good book. They do have a small selection of creative cocktails. Price is so-so. Its not the cheapest bar and food but its also not like 20 to $30 a person to eat there either, unless you want to spend a lot of money on food or drinks. Whenever I have a new friend in town, Im usually bringing them there and so far no one has been disappointed.
Great food and service again. Mussels are excellent
Will and Felicia are the best!!!!! good drinks, good food and even better people that work here!
2 stars because the person on the phone was super polite. Food was bland barely any taste fish fry was not good. The avocado mac salad boring. Personally not worth the price.
We went here for a Jazz Jam. It was fantastic, with local musicians stepping in and letting it fly. The menu is decent for a place this size. And the food was very good! You should go there!
Food was good. I didnt like the swapping of the waiter (4 times). Its a tad too dark inside. Food was yummy though. I had garlic parm wings and sweet potatoe fries.
Had a wonderful dinner there last night. The server was top notch and even made us a special drink. The chicken soup is the best Ive ever had! The pork and rice and beans were the real deal. The mussels? There had to be two dozen in a dreamy creamy herb sauce. Really exceptional and all more than fairly priced. We are foodies and this impressed us.
Oh boy...Where do I start. My sister friend sings this places praises and she wanted to go for her birthday brunch. The place is adorable... Very eclectic. The menu has a nice variety and the bar was nice. I ordered 2 pancakes with a side of bacon, 2 eggs with cheddar cheese and homefries. It didnt take long for our food to come out. Everything was timely. The pancakes were huge and white...That was the 1st red flag. The eggs came in a pile....the bacon was limp. I sent the bacon back 2 twice. I asked for it to be crisp it came back burnt but that was better than it being chewy... I tasted the pancakes and just as I expected. Literally tasted like flour and water. So disgusting. The eggs looked like they were poured from a carton of egg like fluid.... the place was nice.. the food...NEVER AGAIN...The orange juice was good tho lol
I love this place. Have never had a bad experience, the food is amazing, the drinks are killer, and the staff are so amazing. Its a really cool place that could easily be missed, but should not be overlooked. My favorite dish is the ramen noodles, but they recently had a killer chicken and waffles special that they should bring back as a full time menu item. Anyone I have brought to the restaurant has enjoyed it as well! Probably my favorite spot in Buffalo.
Such a cool vibe! Friend had the Ramen and loved it. One of our girls had fries and shared, fresh and delicious. Husband had a tarot reading before our show started. Loved it. Wish we lived closer.
Always a great time there. Fun cocktails and solid food. They have an extraordinary vibe. The interior design has you feeling like your in someones 100 year old home complete with couches and classic decor. Nothing cookie cutter about this place. Great restaurant week options and they host some fun events on their stage.
The food was great. The homemade chicken soup is a meal all by itself. The atmosphere is very casual. The inside dining area is too dark and you will need to use your flashlight to see the menu and foodAlso be prepared for the steps to get in the place it is not handicap accessible
We came here with some friends that hosted us from out of town. The decor is eclectic and funky. Owner was nice and seemed to know all the locals. Not one type of person seemed to frequent the place - saw people from all ages and walks of life. The pork shoulder was magnificent and probably one of the best dishes Ive eaten. Black beans flavored perfectly with a hint of cilantro. I wouldnt have thought to order food there, but I was so happy I did.
What an amazing neighborhood bar and restaurant. They do food features that are every bit as fancy as something youd find downtown, without the pretention. My personal reason for coming here though is the music; they play house at least one Saturday a month and its a perfect space for it. Go if you havent been!
I really love this place!! Its a cornerstone of Buffalo living. They have some amazing food, especially the fries!! Theres always something new to try. The Gypsy Parlor has also shown great love to the Arts community by opening its doors and hosting different events. The staff treat you like family. Id say the worst experience you can have comes between having to leave at closing and when they are not open for business. I put my reputation as a poet on the food and staff!!!
This bar is always fun. And their food is great. So are the drinks! Always have different things going on in the back from karaoke to open mic night. Definitely a place to check out if you havent been there before. Quirky and fun.
DAYUM! Is my reaction to my first bite. Had the garbage plate and buffalo brussel sprouts, both fantastic. Flavorful but not overpowering. Cocktail “The Empress” was not too strong nor too sweet, just right. Vibe is cool and staff is friendly, just grungy enough. Can’t wait to visit again, next time for live music!!
Fun local bar with weird and wild decorations. The bartenders are nice and the drinks are cheap. They have an awesome stage and the Thursday night Karaoke crowd is fun. The patio is a bit tight but that just means you have to get to know people. If you are into offbeat bars, its worth going to!
This location is stunning on the inside, the pictures here do not do it justice. The bartender knows a thing or two about mixing drinks, and the Cheese steak is very good. There is a few small outdoor seating areas if the weather is nice, otherwise take in the decor at one of the indoor tables and enjoy same great food
The staff food and drinks are out of this world. Once a month on 2nd Friday drag show is always a fun time and so is Thursday karaoke! A local gem
It was eclectic. , fun, dance music vibe, a lot of fun for all ages. Shrimp tacos were delicious Their sandwiches are very good. I would definitely order them again. . Definitely a younger crowd. On Saturday evening. With the DJs if youd like to dance then this is the place for you dance floor. Accommodated About 50 people for accommodated about 50 people. .
Very sad brunch experience. This place is definitely cool and the employees seem quite friendly. I went here with a very enthusiastic friend who frequents it. Im vegan, so food is tough when dining out, but Im pretty low key about it and make it work. To my delight there was a vegan option. My friends got two incredibly bountiful breakfasts and a bountiful poutine, and I got the most mediocre, lackluster, miniscule serving of a breakfast I think Ive ever had. My enthusiastic friend asked the waiter about it who proceeded to inform us that the kitchen was a scratch kitchen -- how thats relelvant to the quantity of the food I have no idea -- and that he guaranteed I would be full after eating it. I was not. The 8 cubes of potato, 3 thin strips of red pepper, 1 strip of green pepper, and perhaps 3oz of tofu and the one small slice of french bread didnt come close. I freely admit, my choice to be vegan makes dining out a challenge, but if youre going to offer a vegan option, at least make it as awesome as the rest of the items on your menu -- and hey, if youre going to be a bohemian, cool, gypsy place, maybe have more than one vegan option? Sorry, Gypsy Parlor, hard fail for me. :(
Great food, good service, nice lil bar with lots of cool events!
Unique, but in a good way. Eccentric, neighborhood haunt vibe, with world class food and eclectic menu. Its like they put their own twist on their own favorites. Everything we had was outstanding and unique, the staff was wonderful, definitely will be back.
Wonderful atmosphere. Attentive staff. Get the mussels!!! I enjoyed the the food fusion aspect of the menu, fusion of flavors I personally wouldnt think to combine, and then tasting it blew my mind. Highly recommend.
I have been going to gypsy parlor for a year, ever since I tuned 21. Tonight I tried to go to gypsy parlor for my friends 22nd birthday, and we both got denied by the security guard. Us being 21 and 22 got denied by our official IDs looking too fake. I have loved this establishment ever since I have gone there but hiring horrible personal like this, ruining a birthday, has gone too far and I will never be back.
Outdoor patio seating with very cute with the curtains I gave you a sense of what it will look like on the inside. Feeding inside gave you a sense of a gypsy Caravan! Loved the feeling and the ambiance. Started out with a gypsy juice cocktail, had fried pickles then ended with a muscle pot. The garlic broth was so decadent I couldnt stop myself. Almost picked up the pot to drink the rest. Highly recommend this place as the atmosphere and the food is wonderful. The staff is also friendly and ready to help with anything! Will be back again very soon!!
Food and drink are consistently excellent. The atmosphere is immaculate and really fun. Good sized portions. The kitchen is really good with dietary preferences too.
Drinks were good but our fish dinners were over cooked, tough and fries were cold. Not a great place too eat, very dark. The tables and chairs were in bad shape, very unstable. Had to switch chairs from another table. Liv was a good server.
I had been here in the past for drinks and wings and pastellitos all of which which were very good. However, on the recommendation of my son, we went for brunch this past Sunday. As I write this review, it is with a little trepidation purely for selfish reasons. I hope people find out about this place and frequent it and they continue to thrive and business booms; yet I am afraid people will find out about this place and business will boom and I will never again get a table. (See, selfish! Shame on me). Normally we order different things and share so we have a larger sampling. This particular day we had (4) carafes of mimosas, pastellitos to start then we both ordered the steak and eggs. Sweet Lord! The steak was cooked to perfection, melted in your mouth, and was seasoned with what seemed to simply be some fresh cracked peppercorn. The flavor of the meat was the star and it was fresh. The potatoes were slightly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and cooked with peppers and onions producing a great flavor. I ordered my eggs over easy. If you are of a certain age you remember your mom/grandma keeping a jar of bacon grease on or near the stove for cooking. The fried eggs had the slightly crispy and browned edges and flavor that you can only get if they are cooked the way your mama used to! Fabulous! As always, the staff is friendly and professional and courteous, the service is prompt and friendly and it seems the employees enjoy their jobs and work together well as a team. There were a couple of items on the menu I wanted to try so it looks like I will have to go back! My only reason for not giving that 5th star is I didnt like the psychic approaching us when we arrived and were just taking our seats. I know youre there, if I am interested I will let you know.
This Place Never Disappoints. Everything on their menu is good. They have a designated menu for every season but they also have a special menu that they switch up about every other week. I have never had a bad meal here. And thats saying a lot. Throughout the week they have something going on just about every day from open mic night to trivia to terrot reading. This is definitely a hidden gem to check out.
Why have I waited so long to visit this gem, Gypsy Parlor? Fantastic vibe. So lively and cozy. Excellent, attentive staff! Great food, omg! This is a neighborhood gift. Plus, on the cold, sleeting evening I visited, it was so nice and warm inside. I hate a drafty, cold bar/restaurant🥶. I cant wait to come back and try more menu items and listen to more local folks for open mic night! ❤️
Very down-to-earth bartenders, awesome hippie punk funky atmosphere. They even were used for a scene in the new purge movie. They carry a selection of liquor I wasnt used to but none the less it did the job. Definitely recommend stopping in and enjoying your night with awesome staff and great atmosphere.
1st time stopping in to the beautiful little parlor and didnt know we needed a reservation. But it was no problem for the lovely ladies running this absolutely amazing place! We were seat quickly, had the bottomless mimosas and breakfast pastalittos that were so yummy. We Definitely will be back!
I brought my dearest friend here for brunch this past Sunday. It was the first time visiting for both of us. We felt right at home in the cozy atmosphere. The staff were wonderfully attentive and accommodating. Food and drinks were so tasty. My friend also had her cards read after we ate. We look forward to coming back again. Thank You.
Food is hit or miss. Used to be better. Really fun place, generally. Stuff going on just about every day of the week. Love jazz night. Staff seems to have high turnover rate. Drink prices can be oddly high for what you get. $18 for a pitcher of Flying Bison Rusty Chain?
Ive been here a few times now. Drinks and food havent disappointed. Vibes are always good, even when late night starts and it gets rowdier. Customer service is on point.
The food is always amazing, the service is consistently great and the atmosphere is just too cool.
I went to watch a slam poetry night and plan to go back sometime soon, Id like to check out their other events too in the future. The ambiance of the place was unique, cozy, and felt sort of like a hidden cove. The waitress was nice and quick as well
By far my favorite place to mingle among friends new and old. The atmosphere mixed with the eclectic crowd makes this spot a must for any occasion. You will always fit in here and Gypsy Parlor is sure to always stand out. Felicia and Johnathan behind the bar are always a special treat and they always seem to make your night extra special. The crew in the kitchen should be awarded some kind of medal for consistently putting out dishes that would make Gordon Ramsay cry tears of joy. There are not enough kind words written in the English language to describe how incredible the owner Gabby truly is.I have laughed, cried, screamed and danced endless nights away here all with a pastelito in hand. So if by fate you are lead here choose to PULL! the door open and see what good fortune awaits you inside!
I went on a Thursday night & they had karaoke. Great vibes & I think the best wings I’ve ever had.
AMAZING food. Will definitely be back. The atmosphere is great and the waitress was amazing. I definitely love the fact that they have mock tails as well. The only place around here we’ve found thus far that does.
First time here. Amazing food. Very friendly staff. Great open mic nights.
Had a fun time. Service was great and very friendly. Good crowd. Kind of a night club scene. But entertaining.
Freaking Awesome! And I didnt want to use freaking. The bartender Julie is fast and very attentive! Shes also extremely beautiful! The bar decor is epic. A classic gypsy parlor. Being a magician I walked in did a trick and became a legend! Simply wow! Great fun customers....
Seriously great food. Ive never had anything bad on this menu. I love the eclectic vibe too. Its a unique little neighborhood spot in a part of town that really needs a funky, cool place to hang out and eat and drink well
One of our favorite places to eat! The food is always excellent, and it seems everytime er go there, theres something different going on. Just this last time, there ended up being a poetry reading taking place halfway through our dinner. Another time, there was a cabaret show. Its a cool place to go with good patrons and a great staff!
Great atmosphere, great bartender. I just love what the owner is doing, this place came a long way from The Cavern Tavern as it used to be. Cant tell if its clean because its super dark in there. Only tried one food item, it was ok. I want to try bunch here sometime.
Uninspiring to border line horrible. 2:30 reservation, expected to order lunch, but they were still serving brunch. Based on summer menu, we expected vegetarian/vegan options. I think there was one.1. It took forever to get anyone to our table. I ordered coffee because it was brunch. What I got was tepid and bitter. Given just two sugar packets and two creamers, not sure why they couldnt have at least put forth an image of being even a little generous. The coffee tasted stale.2. On the regular menu, there is an upcharge for dishes that have a meat/protein item. Since there were hardly any vegetarian items to order, my guest asked for her Huevos Rancheros with out the chorizo. We were charged full price even without the sausage.3. When we did get our beverage, the server apologized because hed had too many drinks to make. Having a server/bartender doesnt portend well for good service if you want to be a food-serving establishment. It took quite a while for him to come back and get our order.4. It took a long time for our food to be up. What could be faster to cook than eggs and breakfast potatoes? We almost just walked out, when our food appears. Things are in the wrong order when you get your food and the servers says Ill be right back with silver ware,5. We had Eggs Benedict and Heuvo Ranchers (without meat). The food was acceptable, but not much more. We joked that we just should have gone up the street to Burger King.I honestly feel we would have been happier if wed chosen Burger King and then thrown $35 out of the car window on the way home.Underwhelm food is one thing, but understaffed and slow service combined makes for a bad review. Which is disappointing since others had rated so highly.
Great experience, its very small. Staff is quite friendly . Portion size is amazing. Gotta factor in covid restrictions, they handle then quite well. It is dark keep in mind. And overall I would recommend . Great place for talking and groups of people .
Showed up at just before 1 on a Sunday. Was pretty full so friend and I sat at the bar. Ordered coffee at 12:52 and food shortly after. Its now 1:33 and we have been basically ignored by serving staff. Was finally told that kitchen was backed up. Had to ask for coffee refills, wasnt even offered. I have had better service at McDonalds. Wont be coming back here. 1: 39. Still ignored by wait staff. Left money for coffee and left. Ridiculous
Just a really neat place. The decor takes you back in time. Billiards room was a secret surprise! Bartenders were very welcoming and friendly. That was my first time there, and Id go back!
A must see for both locals and tourists. The food is outstanding and unlike many bar restaurants is open considerably late. I enjoyed their Bison burger with assorted Italian meat wraps & black beans wraps.
A hidden gem on Grant street near Buff State. Old atmosphere makes you feeling you have traveled back to a prepohibition bar. The menu is varied and the food was delicious. Served by a friendly staff. It is worth at least one meal of your time.
Food here has never disappointed. From the wings to the ramen and the great friendly atmosphere, Id highly recommend. Some nights even get a taro reading or listen to a local band. One of our favorite stops
Before it was the Gypsy parlor many years ago it was a hood club. It’s really definitely been turned around! There’s plenty of street parking. Their menu is absolutely amazing! Especially for a vegetarian there’s multiple options. And the even have a brunch menu! The bartenders and waitstaff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have special events there like game nights reggae nights special guests DJs I’d have to say it’s probably one of my favorite bars in Buffalo
Always a great time and someone interesting to meet. Best pastelitos in Western New York. The atmosphere is very different and laid-back with lots of interesting wall and ceiling decor to checkoutWith its own separate pool room and Stage to perform on, you cant go wrong with karaoke! The Gypsy juice is really unique and highly recommended :-)
Great nostalgic 1920s atmosphere, great food, with a wide variety on the menu, fast, friendly service! Would definitely go back!
I want to stop one minute and talk about the Ramen in this place, the tofu ramen to be precise. So this is the story:The first time I went there I had the Zombie cocktail (amazing drink 10 out of 10 ), some bean pastelitos and the Tofu Ramen. Little did I know that this place likes making their food really spicy, so I wasn’t prepared for it, the texture of the ramen felt perfect, big portion, beautifully served, but I couldn’t really tasted it because I’m someone who’s not very used to spicy meals, same problem with the pastelitos because they put their spicy sauce all over them and it was impossible to eat, one of the bartenders saw the struggle and was kind enough to change the pastelitos for us (by the way the bartenders are beautiful people in and out)So!!!! the second time we decided to order for take out and asked to please don’t make the food spicy, and I now got no words, I could literally marry this ramen, is one of the best noodles I have eat in my life, doesn’t taste like a traditional Japanese style ramen at all, it’s just the unique taste that the master minds behind this kitchen come out with, and blessed them and I love it, I didn’t even took a photo to shared it in this review because I was too busy tripping while eating it. I don’t know just go try it, bye
Fantastic place! Bar tender very good. Denny Hanivan even better!
Lots of fun with Karaoke on Thursday. People were friendly and fun and the food was good. Drinks were average with a large amount of bottles and standard drink fare. A nice experience.
Deceptively dark and witty just like the patronage and staff. A local hotspot that brings not only some of the best food in Buffalo with drinks to match but a wide array of events showcasing local talent. Poetry slams on Sundays are highly recommended.
Great place. I’ve had some fun nights there. Only complaint is it’s personally to loud for me. I can’t hear what anyone is saying while I’m inside.
Usually, the food is good, but they were lax on that night and our waitress was horrible. She came to ask us how things were more than once exactly when we were trying to hear jeopardy questions. I asked why she was wearing what looked like a beer tent bracelet and she said she was still wearing it from a concert she attended the night before which just confirmed my suspicions that she hadnt showered that day... she was wearing tight leggings and a skimpy crop top she was waaay too fat to be wearing with her muffin top hanging out for all too appreciate..so unappetizing. Usually the gypsy dip used to be great, but boy have they skimped on it that night..and she was late bringing it. Unusually, looked like the owners were not there that night...made a negative difference.
How in the World have i never been to this beautiful place? Its a very cute bar that matches it name perfectly! The staff is fun & very accommodating! I went on a monday night, it helped me forget there was still 4 days left until the weekend! The people are very eccentric! If ypu havent been, i absolutely recommend you give it a try!
The pork dinner is something me and my boyfriend always crave!! we also love the buffalo spring rolls! of the desserts, the doughnuts are amazing - not too sweet just enough. love this place so much
Great bar. Good food. They have a verity of events there. People are interesting. The area is up and coming on grant. Fun place on the weekends
One of my fav spots to go to on the West Side. Very eclectic! Lots of wonderful performances, local artist events, great food & cocktail drinks. Tarot reading, Belly dancing, etc. Just a very cool, hip place to go chill out & hav a great time!
One of the best brunches in Buffalo, hands down!
The most welcoming atmosphere! We saw an amazing drag show last night and we will be back! The new menu is SO GOOD!
Great atmosphere and the food is really good. Good crowd here and outdoor seating and patio are nice. They do live music and poetry and other fun stuff.
The food was great, our server was super friendly. I ordered a Mimosa and it tasted funny. The server admitted that sanitizer some how got into the mix. How? 🤮
Great food, the drinks are good and there is a good selection too. The atmosphere is amazing! The pool room was great and a fun time!
I absolutely love this place. The crew and owner are friendly and always on the top of their game. This bar hosts fun events and serves great food.
I was very surprised that it was open Mike night or jazz jam session night cuz that jazzy jazz and smooth is my thing and its my women favorite hangout she lives in Buffalo and myself in Erie cant wait get there again and the other folks was just enjoying themselves.
Nice atmosphere, they have karaoke Thursday nights. Some people are put off by the neighborhood but dont let that affect your decision to go there. Great place.
Their name is literally a racial slur, and even when the owner was told about this, was very dismissive. They don’t give genuine apologies for their wrongdoing, and certainly don’t correct the issue.Owner is super unprofessional in general, but you can gain that from the comments section on their bad reviews.
Great this is my go to spot. The crowd is eclectic. Not too young. The food is amazing. The drinks come readily. The music is Poppin. It’s everything I would ever want in an experience going out.
Im about being biased when I talk about how magical The Gypsy Parlor is but, it truly is. The atmosphere has been described by one guest, I overheard, as the foreplay before the best Shrimp Ramen in Western New York. The clientele as well as staff are as well warm and diverse as the neighborhood itself. It truly had something for everyone. This is Buffalos best kept secret, but not for long.
Why are you still thinking about coming here? They have PASTELITOS on the menu for crying out loud. Drinks are strong and lemme tell you, the ladies behind the bar work HARD and pay attention to everyone even when busy. Phenomenal team, really. I recommend the banh mi poutine personally!
Karaoke night was super fun! The staff are all very friendly and the vibe is chill. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I love this place. The staff are courteous, efficient and care about how your experience is. Nice and wan atmosphere, pool room and great karaoke on Thursdays.
Food and drinks are always on point. Little things like taking a dollar off to opt out of chicken on the tacos make this place unlike anywhere else. Definitely one of my favorite spots to take friends and family or even just go for take out. Gypsy really is such a gem, and a great start to the revival of grant st, I hope they stay for a long time to come!
The Gypsy Parlor is definitely a diamond in the rough. A hidden gem on Grant St. Service is excellent. A melting pot of a Menu so a little something for everyone. If your into pool/billiards one of the nicest tables Ive seen in sometime nestled in its own sideroom. You have to see it
Fantastic atmosphere, such kind and welcoming people, and great food. I was so happy with the vegan choices.
Second time eating at Gypsy, service amazing, food was absolutely delish. The pastelillos were to die for. The breakfast trash plate was out of this world. Five stars gypsy! Amazing brunch !! I will be back
Had a great time! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Had a great tarot reading by their resident psychic! Cant wait to go back!
I feel bad saying this, but I was not impressed with the food, I took one bite and that was enough for me. It was very dark in the restaurant, too dark for me, not much for ambience. The service was good, but it bothered me that when they took the plate and noticed that I didnt eat anything, they didnt ask if everything was ok. I paid my bill, but I wont be back.
Ive come to karaoke night 4 times in a row and every time ive come ive been told im too late. But ive been sitting waiting and seen ppl put music in after me and they sing. Its not even the first. Ive walked in seeing performances and i put my selection in and their favorites perform again after i put in. All times ive been ive never or my friends been able to sing.
I travel to Buffalo about every 5 weeks and every 5 weeks I always make a trip to Gypsys. The food here is just amazing. The menu will amaze you. Get anything and youll love it!!!
Her you will find a fun and inviting atmosphere with some of the best food in the westside. Reasonable prices with knowledgeable bartenders and live music weekly make this place a oasis for a up and coming community.
They have a trivia night I occasionally visit. The last was near Halloween. They had a drink called Witches Brew which the people drinking at at my table said they enjoyed. I didnt have alcohol because I was going to be driving soon enough. Standard pub fare. Sadly when I was in the pinball machine was broken.
Service is always excellent. Food is incredible. Atmosphere is very unique! A great experience every time I go!
Truly one of a kind in Buffalo. Wonderful, eclectic nightly lineup. Be sure to check out the wickedly popular Thursday night karaoke!!- The Story Garage
The cocktails there are great, but the Gypsy Juice might be the best value in Buffalo. Top notch wings that rival Gabriels Gate. I dig the dim and stylish atmosphere.
Food was very good The service was really good And the atmosphere is different I liked it its not the same old bar restaurant type of place
Great vibe, enjoyed the split room design...bar up front, chill lounge in the back. Books great djs. Never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a drink.
New Years Eve Ballet Brunch was an excellent ending to the year! Food was tasty, the show was great! Everyone enjoyed our time there.
Looks like a bar. Food is fine dining. Really great place.
AMAZING place - really cool atmosphere and the food was the bomb. (Veggie and vegan available as well as regular fare.) Original cocktails. Not a spot to be missed.
I did enjoy going there it was a big difference for my taste. it was a nice environment to be around. Did not get the taste of food but I know they do serve food there. maybe next time Ill try it.
What a lively joint this place is. It unique place that kind of reaches out and grabs your attention as you walk by. The interior is a dark lit bar. The place is going for some sort of look but I cannot exactly put my finger on it. I guess you all will have to go here for me and find out.
I stopped here for drinks after eating dinner elsewhere but I was disappointed by the limited bar seating. They have a pool table in the back which is a nice touch but the room is a touch too small for it. I hear their food is good but I wouldnt go back just for the bar.
I went to watch the poetry slam, it was the first Ive been to and a nice experience. I enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the staff was friendly, fast, and professional but not in an uppity kind of way, it was a very relaxed environment
Fun, unique, and beautifully ugly inside. Its the perfect place to chill out and Tuesday nights are geeks who drink trivia nights. So fun!
Cool bar and restaurant. The vegan options they had were surprisingly amazing. We both througly enjoyed our meals.
Great food in a very diverse menu. Bartenders are always friendly and theres always great events happening here.
This is a down home bar with outstanding presentation. Welcoming staff and delicious food. Go there!!
Cool little dive bar atmosphere with lots of activities daily. Plus theres a result Zoltan machine in the corner. Any fans of the movie Big should go right now.
Karaoke night on Thursdays are always a vibe! Never had a bad time!!! Good people. Good energy.
The food was outstanding our waiter was on top of everything and the beer was ice cold! Really fun atmosphere.
Great place with an awesome vibe! They have a fun open mic night and also great dancing. The drinks are good, too!
Favorite Buffalo Bar. Great owner. Diverse patrons.. Cool staff. Fun vibes.
Great atmosphere. Amazing service. The food is delicious too. Felicia is a DOLL and went above and beyond for our party.
Buffalos hub for creatively-quirky nightlife! Psychics, belly dancers, poets, tango dancers, funk night, tu-tu Tuesday, and open mic nights...plus hot cocktails, great food and awesome staff make this one of my favorite places, anywhere.
Cute place! I went for a drag show so I didnt get food but the atmosphere was great and the servers were friendly. I reccommend
Always Good! Great staff and food... Warm environment, and all kinds of music and events. My favorite local watering hole!!
Now this place is cool. The variety of people who frequent here is welcoming. Ambience is cozy yet edgy. The cards on the ceiling is a sharp touch. Very cool place.
A neighborhood gem with a amazing staff and more. Eclectic food weekly and a great brunch option. Live performances and entertainment found here.
Was a place to go for a drink or dinner loved the pictures and other special decor to look at was a special place to visit have to visit again had some tempting dishes I like to try
My first time here, I enjoyed it. People were friendly staff was good. Drinks were plentiful.
I cannot say enough about this place. It is like walking into a Parlor. Inviting comfortable great service and great comfort pub food. Great and attentive staff made the evening more special.
