High Life Smoke Shop Central

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the High Life Smoke Shop Central location, where I have been a loyal customer for years, always spending a significant amount of money. A few days ago, I purchased a GeekVape Aegis III Kit and, after showing the receipt, I attempted to return it because it didnt work. Initially, I thought the issue was with the batteries I bought from another store, but after several trips back and forth, I realized the problem was with the GeekVape Aegis III Kit itself.I contacted GeekVape, and they advised me to return the kit to the store. I called High Life Smoke Shop, showed proof of the call, and was advised to bring it back. Despite living 45 minutes away, I made the trip, only to be told by Manager Daisy that she could not exchange the device. There was no empathy or understanding from her.I have always supported this store, even when Cali Vapors Elite Smoke Shop moved next door with three times the selection. This experience was incredibly disappointing. Please do not shop here; they do not care about their loyal customers.

Friendly place with helpful staff. Called ahead to see if they had the part we need. They did. The greeted us at the door, very friendly. Got our part quickly. Chill vibe throughout the place. Would recommend and use again.

Had the “pleasure” of coming here for a 10$ banger. Was in an out in less than 5 minutes and went next door for less than 5 minutes, all in all was back to my car in 10 minutes, came back to my car booted by wheel blockers. I called the number and it took the man 30 minutes to show up saying I had been there for an hour and said I had 15 minutes to give him 200$ to get the boot off, and if I don’t once the tow truck gets there he can’t take payment anymore. So I basically got told 200$ or I lose my car to impound. When I showed the man the receipt of me being in highlife literally 7 minutes ago he didn’t care. A simple 10 minute, 10$ run turned into an over 2 hour ordeal with police after the man assaulted me with his vehicle. I will be telling everyone I know about this and will never do business with high life as long as they use wheelblockers. Literal extortion over parking in there, even though I was doing business.Go next door to Cali Vapors (park in the ice cream shop and walk there) they have better prices, give you discounts and have better products, and it’s literally next door and you’ll have a much better experience.

Big selection of vapes and associated products in an artsy decorated store that offers competitive prices. Kyair took good care of us and knew the products well. Good experience from start to finish.

I’ve come here off and on for two years, every time I ask if they have a desert flavors. Every time they say no. It’s like they really really don’t know how to make money, I can’t be the only person who doesn’t want to vape sour banana apple mint. Zero stars

YASSSS!!! Searched the city smoke shops on my way to High Life looking for Glass Screens, these pop up shops Ill call them have no idea what a truly High Life is for they knew nothing of what I was talking about, Im sure glass screen does not translate to a brass screen,.. umm smoke shop huh... And not know simple difference between glass and metal. HIGH LIFE HIGH LIFE HIGH LIFE youre a life saver..lol ✌🏾❤️😊

Griffith and Matt are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I recently stopped in because I have been trying CBD prerolls brands. I fell in love with the Darling Hemp Smokes from Asheville, NC. Super Duper AhhhMazing Customer service!!!It just so happens on this particular dayHighlife was currently out of stock of my usual preferred cartridge, which was a first and not like them at all...Well... not only did the sales clerk *immediately* scour their network wide database to see if a sister store a mile down the road had one to sell me, they informed me that highlife wouldnt be restocking my favorite brand anytime soon, and offered me a new comparable brand that matches both my picky taste, and the price point I was originally expecting to pay. This was a cool shop. The young man & girl who was working mid day on 8/26/22, were really nice, very welcoming, & super knowledgeable about the products in there. Thx guys! Tho not their fault, but beware-- Parking sucks & we saw someone get their car booted within 10min of pulling up there+ because they parked at the shop but went to get food around the corner instead of going into the shop. So, B careful!

Let me start by saying i don’t write negative reviews but this was the worst experience i’ve ever had in my entire life. i parked in the highlife parking lot and went in and bought a vape. while walking out i got a phone call i took it and walked up and down the street when i returned to my car it was booted. the man with the wheel blockers company was still there and demanded i pay 200 dollars. i had my receipt in my hand and he didnt care. the time showed there was less that 5 mins in between checking out and getting back to my car. cost me 200 dollars to remove the boot. so my trip to high life totaled 220 dollars. as long as high life has wheel blockers doing booting on paying customers i will not be visiting along with my friends. this was extortion

Great experience at this smoke shop. Friendly and welcoming even before youre through the door, and then treated like an old friend when youre inside. Prices are absolutely fair, selection is wide, and the staff knows their products.Asked for a recommendation and was walked through the offerings based on my feed back to some simple questions. Ended up with exactly what I was looking for.If youre in the area and need a smoke shop, just go here.

Ive got 3 smoke shops within a half mile of my house, I only shop at This one!! Everyone that works there is AWESOME last visit I had the pleasure of Jennifer & Fatima helping me!!! Selling Cigarettes is a Major Bonus! Saves me a trip down the road!!

Place is great all employees I met are all very helpful and friendly. Hate to have a favorites but Kevin and Liz are always there (quite literally) and are the ones that take care of me and are a pleasure to speak with. I appreciate the great customer service, you guys are all awesome keep it up!

A great store employed with friendly staff! The selection is rather small, but the store itself is small. Very welcoming and helped when it came to assisting me with my purchase. The only downside would be parking. Every time I go to this store there is always a truck or van blocking the driveway for no one to be able to get in.

Absolutely love coming in here. When I did me and my boyfriend pretty much camped out on the floor talking and hanging with the staff. We were in there for a couple of hours and some of the customers even asked our advice along with asking staff members. You cant beat this type of atmosphere at all. Recommend 100%

Cute shop with helpful employees! it’s a tiny little shop for sure but they still have so much to choose from. i was blown away by their selection of water pipes! i only stoped in to get some CBD treats for mine and my roommates doggos but i will definitely be back to do some shopping for myself too!

This is my go to high life!! I know theres a bunch of smoke shops in this area but I love going to this one because I always have a great experience and the manager Bryce is so helpful and funny. Anytime I have a question hes super helpful and the staff here is great. Overall great experience every time, and I will continue going here!!

One major issue is to get to the store you basically have to risk crashing your car into oncoming traffic which you are forced to cross in order to reach the front parking and the back parking is eerie and creepy.I actually like the staff here I would hang with them all day long and chill......if I felt safe in the store.the products are poor quality and often cracked or break easily due to thin glass.I recommend infinitys end, they have a nice staff, are friendly and sell affordable quality products

Great store. Lady called the tow truck on me cause they didnt have the flavor hookah shisha I use. When to L A Vape to get shisha. Couple days before got shisha from High Life. Never a competition thing just one day you didnt have what I need. But my mistake for walking next door. I promise I will not park in your lot.

Whenever I find my way to PM, I make sure to stop by High Life. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. I bought a JUUL yesterday, and Griffin (I hope I’m spelling your name correctly) was eager to help. He is funny guy, but beyond that, he seems to love his job, and it shows. Also, the best glassware in Charlotte.

Bought a disposable 2500 puff vape recommended by the shop. Of course it puffed once fine in shop. I left did not smoke it again until 1 hour 40 min later on my break and it was burnt and dead . The battery light flashing etc i called to tell them and they refused to honor. They have low pricing but who cares if you only get a device good for 1 to 3 puffs you gotta go get another vape anyways. I was a loyal customer. I will never be back. You get what you pay for. I pd less than $2 more for the same vape at another shop and its still going strong. I will not be back.

I thought I was going to like this place from the outside, looks awesome, but after I walked in, my attitude was forced to change. Upon entering, i was immediate yelled at to put on a mask, I just forgot to have it on, it was in my pocket so I immediately throw it on, then after trying to speak to the white male with kinda long hair about doing business, he suddenly thinks I’m a suspected criminal, mind you I’m a representative of a prominent vendor in NC. But the gentleman barely gave me a chance to speak, and I decided bu the way my character was attacked, maybe attempting to do business with this very cool establishment wasn’t worth it at this time. The interaction was very odd, I never had an experience like that in a smoke shop after doing business with lots of them over the past decade. Idk, weird.

Booted in 5 minutes costing $200. Not a way to keep loyal customers. I visit both LA Vapors and High Life. Be careful where you park guys. The towing and booting is predatory. Definitely could lose business over this.

RUDE!!!!!!! LIGHTLY STOCKED HEADSHOP. The people who work in this place are very rude. And it is not the first time I have come in and been treated disrespectfully. This time it was a skinnier white guy with a beard who seemed to have a huge attitude about cleansing products. I am a customer and deserve to be treated with the utmost respect at all times.I would love to see this bearded guy on the street so I could teach him a lesson in manners. Whoever owns this shop needs to stop trying to shove a stick so far up their employees arses that they kick everyone out who is trying to make a purchase. I was actually planning on buying a cleansing product for my girlfriend and a volcano for myself, she doesnt like the tobacco wrappers smell but whatever.But anyway went down to high life and got everything I needed. The staff is very part of the neighborhood and very helpful. They have a huge selection of items with the space allotted. Its pretty psychedelic looking outside too. The parking kind of sucks but you should probably be walking up to this place anyway. Not enough to take away a whole star.

Served 3 customers that was behind me 1st....had loose tobaccoBut no tubes ...wth?Also was carded...for the love of god. IM 65 with a long grey beard. The kid that cashed me out ...would be younger than ANY of my 10 grandkids.

I bought a junky vape there. Spent $15 The guy assured me the floor model would work. When I charged it, it started hissing and emitting a fluid. It was something like glue, or rubbing alcohol. Very scary!!!! I took it back to them so I could get store credit towards something else but they dont do returns! Because of this, the $15 that I was going to spend, today, I will never shop there again!!! Your policies suck! I will definitely tell my friends not to go there!!!

Worst experience EVER. I personally wouldnt ever recommend friends or family to this location. They false advertise discounts,they dont accomadate you for misleading you. I purcased a hookah to get home and see that all the pieces werent in the box. I was also charged extra for sonething that i never purchased,then when I called to bring it to there attention theyre giving me a run around. Thats not how you treat customers. Above it all i was first time customer at that. I typically dont write reviews,especially a negative one at that,but this company over all deserves it. Its ridiculous

I had a few good experience at this location, however my husband went to this location to purchase two vape mods for us, it was time for new ones. I am a hotel manager and I work 60-80 hours a week, so I was not available to go with him. A few weeks back we purchased two tanks at this location, my husband showed them the tanks and the staff said there wouldnt be an issue with the tanks and this mod working together. He bring this to me at my work and it doesnt work with my tank......He went to go take it back... but of course they stated that some crazy laws state that you cannot return these items....They did not tell him that at the time of purchase........SO then he went in and they gave him some crappy connector piece that literally looks horrific on my mod. I have tried to get a hold of a manager but the phone number doesnt work. All and all, I am extremely disappointed!! I will make sure all of my friends are aware of the vast lack of service at this location. We will definitely not be returning. Welp...that is $100+ down the drain.

There was a white, skinny lady with glasses at the store today. Completely rude, unprofessional, thought she knew everything. Every time I go into this terrible store they are out of ash catchers, have some of the worst quality glass ive seen in a long time and their staff are terrible.I would give this store 0/5Forgot to mention!!In plain view they had rubbing alcohol and salt...these employees use the pieces before selling them. Total garbage establishment.

A few weeks ago, I went to High Life after hearing their commercial on the radio. Let me tell you, best staff ever! I went in to get an ecig to help my son to quit smoking. The manager there, Darcie, greeted me right away and was very helpful. Being how Ive never smoked, I was oblivious to everything. She was very patient, asked all the right questions, and helped me find the best kit for my son. She took it apart to make sure everything worked, showed me how to maintain it, and helped me get the right juice for him. It only took 3 days for him to quit smoking!! We got him a kit that had a v v battery (dont ask me to explain it), and this amazing Juice called Pluto. We even got him extra pieces and all under $50. And dont believe all the parking nonsense. The staff there DOES NOT have people booted. The city patrols it, and people should learn to read all the High Life Customer Only signs as parking is for the stores customers only. Not only were they great, but they remembers us too! Not a common thing in retail. Definitely go check these guys out!

I live in Plaza Midwood and have for 7 years. I love my community and I am known as a happy, go lucky, inhabitant. I recently bought a defective Smok vape. It leaked from day 1. I asked for an exchange 5 days after purpose. The young woman, who knows me said to bring it back and we would exchange it. Unfortunately, she was not there and I encountered the manager. He was rude, unrelenting and totally unsympathetic. I did lose it out of sheer frustration that he was stealing $60 from me. I raised my voice!! So sorry but all I saw was the injustice. I am not sure that his Lack of common sense belongs in this peaceful, loving community. This business does not belong in this small community 😎

Love this place! Only smoke shop I go to because of how great these guys (and gals) are. Great selection on shisha, incense, and glass ware. Mark is always so friendly and immensely helpful with any questions I have on products.

Since the dawn of civilization human beings have had an innate urge to connect with one another. All too often we are distracted by this simple universal truth. Throughout the course of human history we have somehow managed to divide ourselves with a litany of political and religious institutions. The homosapien species, though advanced in its perceptual abilities to conceptualize and convey data, have forgotten that we are all of the same planetary tribe. However whenever a human being has the time and pleasure of strolling through the Plaza Midwood High Life location all of the divisions that imprison us are forgotten. All of the barriers that bring us down simply cease to exist. I have worked in the service industry for a number of years, and I feel deeply compelled to establish that this phenomenon is a direct result of the superior customer service I experience every time I encounter the staff at High Life. While I cannot remember everyone’s name who is staffed at this location, I have managed to retain 4 key members that exceed my expectations. First and foremost Ill start with Amanda Wallace. That lady greets me by name while maintaining a welcoming smile EVERY SINGLE TIME I step into the store. Her ability to anticipate my needs, joke around (while maintaining flawless professionalism) and educate me on new products are huge factors that play a role in my continuing patronage. Will is also a brilliant staff member who consistently greets me by name and brings me up to speed with the perks of new merchandise. Liz always has this amazing ability to flip a frown when she sees one. Ive witnessed this first hand on multiple occasions. Regardless of a persons socio economic background Liz, Will, and Amanda, are excellent at making everyone feel at home. Last but certainly not least I would be amiss if I did not mention Josh. This young man is going places, and the High Life company should be honored to call him a staff member. He is kind, perceptive, and has a noticeable eagerness to serve customers. So there you have it. My only regret is that I cant rate this establishment with more stars. ⭐️

When I walked in, I got bad vibes from the lady covered in tattoos. She pressured me to make quick decisions to buy things and didnt even mention that the started kit tank for vapers werent the best tanks. My boyfriend has been using vapor and knew those tanks werent good and thats the only reason I knew to get a different tank. The kit they sold me for $55 can easily be bought online for $20-25, so it;s way over priced. She wasnt rude, I just felt rushed. I feel like she knows everything is over priced and pressures you to buy quickly so you over look that aspect. They do have good prices on juices and they have pure VG juices. They also have a juice that has melatonin in it, which is a cool concept. They also have pure energy liquids, which is also interesting. We bought a few of those. I probably wouldnt buy the equipment from this store, but the liquids are a good price.

From my experience at Highlife, Griffin seems to be the person with the most amount of leadership and authority in the store location. However, his irate and arrogant personality is really what rubs me the wrong way. His knowledge of the products he sells are 2nd to none, if it were opposite day, and trust me, opposite day doesnt exist.

The staff here is very friendly, however I cannot recommend shopping here as the store itself does not stand behind the products they sell. I bought a CBD vape pen here recently, which never worked even once. Went to exchange it less than 24 hours later, and was told they knew the batch was defective, however would not refund OR exchange for a working model and suggested that I purchase a new one from them(I did not..). The pen was only 9 bucks, so I dont really care about the money, its just the principle that they would not even exchange it for a working model knowing they have a defective batch.. I left and went right down the street to OneLove, which is awesome. Sucks High Life lost me as a customer over $9.00, but more business for the competition I suppose. P.S.Id be willing to shop there again or remove the review/change it to a positive one if the management can make this right, but I dont see that happening at this point..

As much as I enjoy shopping at High Life, and have done so many times, I was rather disappointed when trying to return a bigger lighter I purchased less than a month ago. From day one the lighter never worked. When I brought it back to return it I was told that I could not because of Covid, which I understand however, would have appreciated the help in performing an even exchange. I was instructed by the employee working to buy a camp fire blow torch at Target because they work better. I’ve supported High Life for years and even when a competitive smoke shop opened directly next door, I stood by High Life. Something as simple as performing an even exchange on a product couldn’t have kept me coming back as a customer. I went next door to LA Vape to purchase a new one.

Liz had helped me today she was very knowledgable and helpful she was extremely nice she didnt get annoyed or try to hurry me even when I asked to see something different like 30 times it was a great experience Ill def be back to make future purchases

This is a cool smoke shop I like to get little goodies from. Every employee is different and educated on whats in the shop differently but Ive never had a bad experience. Come check them out I promise you wont be disappointed.

I got 100 ml of vape juice and a coil for $15. But, the guy OPENED my juice after I paid for it just so he could smell it. Theres parking in the back of the store. And I dont remember there being a wheelchair ramp. They have great prices. But they lost a star when dude opened my juice.

High Life in general is a great smoke shop chain around the Charlotte area, and they basically have anything that you could be looking for. This store is a little smaller than most of the others, but theyve always had everything Ive ever went there looking for. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for a smoke shop.

This place is great! They always answer any questions I have about the products with experience! On top of that you cant beat their prices.

Went to buy a few supplies at High LIfe on Central Avenue in Charlotte and ended up getting my car booted. After leaving the shop, I went to the clothing store right next to it for 15 minutes. They obviously watch people leave to make sure they dont go anywhere else. If they do, they immediately boot your car. I was then extorted $85 to have the boot removed or they would tow it away within the hour. Very predatory practice that they try to blame on the owners of the property. Horrible place!!!

It is average vape shop, where stoners work. One time they gave me an empty pack of screens and sold them to me. I didnt realize it till I got home.🤭 Always have your ID on you. Tink gives it 3 paws!

Bought a crappy vape pen here one night that they recommended. Was defective out of the box. Went to return the next morning when they opened, was told they got a defective batch in but would still not refund or exchange mine for one that works. Dont risk it, take your business elsewhere.

I came into the #10 shop in W. Asheville from out of town for a wax pen on a friends recommendation and was sold a Stratus 2 in 1 Combo. The salesman (Frank) made a point to tell me that there are no refunds once I walked out of the shop. A couple hours later the pen stopped working. This place is a great place to find all the cooleet pieces. The people were extra nice. The girls extra hot. I recommend you check them out. Only problem I seen was how small the place is

The biggest problem is with parking. I didnt even go inside because of the parking. DO NOT PATRONIZE BECAUSE THEY USE WHEEL BLOCKERS. A COMPLETE SHAM.I told the WHEEL BLOCKERS employee, who would only tell me his name is J (something the nearby stores said is not the truth) that I was on my way INTO the HIGH LIFE store whose lot it was (2 minutes after parking). He told me simply that I could give him 50 dollars cash or debit or have my car towed. He cited a city ordinance as his reason for not being able to remove the boot due to my impending patronage of HIGH LIFE. I called the city and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. The only ordinance involved was their ability to post signage. The first lie. I scrounged in my car for dollar bills to collect $50 to get the boot removed before he left. J then put the cash in his cargo pants pocket, wrote me a receipt (misspelling the word cash) and took several minutes to retrieve the removal tools from his filthy 1992 Pontiac. I came back 20 minutes later, after calling the city and the police, to see him PARKED on the city SIDEWALK, waiting to do the same thing to another person. When I called the WHEEL BLOCKERS line, the manager answered. He was immediately rude and started LYING from the first second. I informed him that I would be filing this complaint and he told me to make sure I included that I used a companys parking spot without shopping there. I will include that but only to emphasize that I was ON MY WAY INTO HIGH LIFE as the BOOT WAS PUT ON MY CAR 1 FOOT FROM THE PUBLIC STREET. I would have shopped at HIGH LIFE and fully planned on it, if this scary dude had not placed a boot on my car and lied to my face. Wheel Blockers claim they work for the private stores. When I called HIGH LIFE, they said Wheel Blockers work for the city. There is nothing but shady lies and what amounts to extortion. This company AND HIGH LIFE are a joke and their employees are rude, disrespectful, and liars. I will never patronize a company that leases out to Wheel Blockers, and after just a few hours, at least 10 of my friends and family members will not either. AVOID THIS HIGH LIFE AT ALL COST. LIARS AND EXTORTIONS.

I didnt go there but my wife did she gives them a five-star she said that they were very helpful the lady at the desk was very very helpful she also says they was rated number one in Charlotte NC for a vape shop

Employees too busy serving friends products to assist with new customers coming in. Stood at the counter for 15 minutes trying to get the Employees attention to be checked out. In the end, they all left except for one of the two employees to smoke in the back parking lot with friends they just helped out.

Today liz provided me with excellent customer service. She was very polite and knowledgeable!! Awesome staff

Future advice for the sales associates: when a customer is standing at the register and is contemplating buying a bigger bag(spending more) dont finish out the sale. You finished the sale and then wouldnt exchange it. Thats poor customer service

Employees at this store use stuff from the shelf,then put it back in and sell it as brand new. Ive bought an 18650 battery from them exact same brand ,same model as the one I was going to replace... Well, later home I notice battery wasnt packed the way manufacturer suppose pack it. Not a big deal, but it also lasts me only half of tank on kanger subox mini. While old one lasted 2 full tanks. Thats 4 times difference. Shame on you guys. Would wright negative review again

Great variety of Vape oils and friendly staff. Staff is always willing to help and advise on issues with your Vape. The only drawback High Life on Central has is limited parking. Located in a nice area with plenty of restaurants and shops to visit while youre in the neighborhood

Terrible service. They do not inspect glass before selling and will refuse to exchange or return even if you are literally still standing on their property once you see the damage as you walk to your car. True story

I went in to high life looking to buy a vape pen/e-cig or whatever... and one of the employees made a big deal about my ID (which I got in the 8th grade) I am clearly of age as my ID stated and she was just kind of bashing it. Then I proceeded to pick out which vape I wanted and my boyfriend and I were gonna go half on it (hes also of age) we had friends with us that are a younger than us and when she asked for their IDs she was super loud, it was almost embarrassing because theyre younger than us and they dont have one. I know theres a law because theyre minors but she couldve handled it wayyyy better. It makes me not want to do business with them, because the day before we went in there my boyfriend went in and bought one with his 16 year old sister... Ill probably go to another store or something.

Been twice, very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of different options. Only issue is kind of tight parking in the back but there are other parking options nearby.

Ran into an issue with my vape, they fixed me up and were very polite. I plan to return again soon.Wish they had a website to order or view products though.

Do not shop at these stores. The staff is ok but some are completely unknowable about the products they sell. Be very weary about buying any e-cig products because all of the rdas are clones and overpriced for being clones. I will not shop at any of these stores again and I dont even want to give them 1 star

One of the only smoke shops in the Charlotte area that carries my brand of tobacco. I like this particular location because of their staff. Very friendly and very efficient.

Awesome local smokeshop. Always have new cool mech and digital mods and huge selection of juice! 100 times better customer service than vapor other vape stores. Most vape shops like Vapor on sardis rd north, or madvapes are super pretentious.

This is a shop for people who enjoy synthetic smokes or synthetic smoking accessories. If youre into tobaccos this isnt the shop for you. It has you basic RYO supplies but the staff isnt knowledgeable about RYO / Pipe Tobaccos(which they have none of)Staff isnt outwardly friendly but not rude. Good to pop in, pick up supplies and leave type place.Also, parking is 3rd party STRICTLY enforced. If youre going to visit a shop next door, you WILL BE TOWED, so repark somewhere else.
