Sora did my haircut and a permanent. She was as excellent as when I went to her regularly at other salons. She takes the time to do the haircut so precisely, and in the way that I like it to be done. With my permanent, she always manages to put in so many permanent rods that I end up with the wonderful curly look that is so easy to care for. Today she even went out of her way to acquire. 2 adapted shampoo trays to shampoo my hair from my motorized wheelchair into one of your sinks.Kudos to Sora!!! She is the best hairstylist I’ve ever had.

It was my first time visiting the salon, and the receptionist, stylist, and facilities were all perfect. During the treatment, my stylist massaged my neck and shoulders, which was very relaxing and comfortable. I think Ill go again soon.

I’ve gone here twice now and worked with 2 different stylists, and both times, I was absolutely blown away! On my first visit, Vanessa gave me the most perfect little babylights. And this afternoon, I came back and had the pleasure of getting a cut and a major color makeover with Ali. (Nothing wrong with the color I got from Vanessa, I just wanted to go in a new direction) I have fine, but thick hair. It takes forever to section and color it. I’ve had stylists in the past rush through and do a bad job, or try and talk me into a single process instead since they don’t feel like dealing with my hair. But both of these stylists were super supportive, asked questions, and really took their time. And the work they did was incredible. I am in love with my hair.I also think it seems like a very team-oriented salon. Everyone is very professional, always checking in on other stylists, pitching in a hand where they can, complimenting each other’s work, and checking in on the clients. I’ll never get my hair done anywhere else.

The first time I saw Ali, I made a last minute decision to chop several inches of my hair--solely because I felt so safe in her chair. Her consultation was so thorough, knowledgeable, and practical. I came into Chicago from Texas at the last minute. I lived here years ago & knew that there were still several salons on Oak St. & Roxie at GC was available for a cut & blow dry. I walked over & got right in. My hair was in really bad shape & I needed remedial attention. Roxie performed a miracle while we were talking & she told me that a mutual friend was now working there. Roxie gave my number to my friend & we got caught up after many years. She’s a hair genius and very thoughtful. It’s a great salon. Make an appointment. You will be glad you did.

Bernice is great. I have been her customer for over 30 years. I think your policy charging extra for using credit cards is annoying and foolish. Your price no doubt already built into your pricing on top of your over priced services. So for me, it is just another price increase. But for Bernice I would not use your salon for this reason alone. I suspect you are losing customers with this foolish policy. You should rethink it, since you asked for my feedback.

Bardha gave me the most incredible facial. I have been trying places around the city to find the best one and my search is over. I am posting this almost 2 weeks after my facial and my skin has never been better. I received a haircut from Ali at the end of September, right before going to the wedding of a friend from high school. Being that this was in my hometown and I would be seeing a lot of people I hadnt seen in a while, I wanted to look my best. Ali did such a great job, that not only did I look great at the wedding, but Ive been able to make it to New Years on the same great haircut! Great products used when I had my blow out. My blow out last 4 days! It was easy to get in for a same day appointment on New Years Day nonetheless. Personable stylist. Bonus: I asked for the stylist to take my picture. She had me follow her back by the wash stations and low and behold there is this awesome round light on a stand that she took my picture through. You can she a shadow around me in the picture. Thats so cool! Ill definitely be back when Im in town.

Im not much of a reviewer, but I just HAD to leave a review for joseph. first of all, the overall ambiance of this salon is so peaceful and serene. i nearly fell asleep, no exaggeration haha! i come from the suburbs so it was a bit of a drive, however totally worth it for the experience i got. for years, ive walked out of salons near me and was unhappy and never felt truly heard on what exactly i wanted for my hair. joseph couldnt have been more precise with my short haircut. he truly is an artist and does not hesitate to take his time to make your cut literally PERFECT. my only experience with other cuts at other salons was being in and out within 20 minutes with no care to detail, but not here. i was pleasantly surprised and despite the drive, i will be back!

Jeri was fantastic!Recently moved here, was in desperate need for a haircut and saw so many good reviews for the salon and specifically Jeri. We talked about my hair in the past, products I used, how I styled it, my inspiration pictures and where I wanted my hair to ideally be. I had a fairly blunt cut with some face layers but wanted a very layered cut on my medium length hair. She took a cautious approach and did a first cut, then asked me if I wanted more layers, or what I wanted to change, and we kept going through rounds of cuts/checking in to see if it was where I wanted to go.Definitely appreciated the make a small change and checkin approach, I’ve had many bad haircuts in the past where a stylist would cut way more off or cut for a style of hair I didn’t want.I will 100% book all future haircuts with Jeri, I trust in her ability and listening skills to give me the haircut I’m looking for.

I absolutely love this salon! I’ve been going to Jenna since 2017 and trust her entirely with my hair. She definitely saved me from another salon’s botch job, and now I rarely if ever go anywhere else for colors/cuts. I have a big event coming, however, and decided to lighten my hair a little (partial highlights), and when Jenna was booked solid I went to Abbey. My hair looks fantastic! I got so many compliments from perfect strangers when I left! Abbey did a fantastic job and all the while made the experience relaxing and fun.It’s worth pointing out that I have heinous hair anxiety from having bad jobs done elsewhere, so I’m not always the most patient or easy-going client. However, both women I went to completely understood and made me feel less anxious. The beauty of this place is-especially if you have anxiety like me-you just know and feel like you’re in professional hands. Everything about the salon is extremely professional, and the environment is amazing (down to the coffee)! 10/10 do recommend to anyone who wants beautiful hair.

This was my first time visiting George Charles and getting my haircut at a salon professionally— I was nervous but had an amazing experience with Bianca! I showed Bianca a video of the haircut I was hoping to get and told her I didn’t want too much cut off overall and she did exactly that. The length is exactly what I wanted (just a little trim off) and the style itself looks amazing (I asked for long layers). Bianca was also extremely friendly and personable.In terms of the salon itself, it was very clean and the staff was very friendly, hospitable, and professional. I just moved to Chicago so I’m glad I found a new trusted place to go to regularly!

Based on my eye color and skin tone, George chose a beautiful reddish/brown color and used a process called Elumen that made my color so rich and vibrant. Second time here to see Jeri and she is literally the best out there for haircuts. My first haircut grew out like a dream, and I’m now wearing it longer than I have in years because the cut works so well and is easy to manage. I’m grateful to have found her, but I’m not the only one to know what a great hairdresser she is - she is in high demand, so plan on booking about 3-4 weeks ahead of time, especially on Sundays.

If you want absolutely fabulous and amazing eyebrows go see Sabrina! She is a magician! I had seen someone else previously for my microblading and they completely botched them. Sabrina was very patient and corrected my eyebrows and they look amazing!

I would give a 6th star if I could, from the initial walk in experience to the comfortable and accommodating waiting room and of course the haircut and checkout process, the entire experience is flawless! The atmosphere is delightful, staff and stylist are friendly, helpful, and experts in what they do. You will be paying a premium, but I can confidently say you get what you pay for! I was unsure what direction to take my long curly hair and asked for advice on what to do with my new grown length. Mio (my stylist) was very knowledgeable and had an artistic vision that was executed to perfection. My new cut looks great, plays to my hairs strengths, balances out its difficult characteristics, and above all makes me look and feel great! I am loving this haircut, from the versatility in ways I can wear it, to the elegance, to the lovely waves crafted into my notoriously difficult hair! I will be back and recommend George Charles highly to anyone that needs a new refreshing look for any occasion or even everyday! Cheers!

I had my hair done with Adele. I am super picky about who I go to for my hair, but Adele did not disappoint. I left the salon feeling the happiest Ive ever been about my hair and I dont even have my halo extensions in yet. She did the perfect trim and gloss and I will be back regularly to see her for touchups and trims. You will not be disappointed with Adele, I promise.

I had an amazing experience with Leia. I received a wash, silk press, and trim. She was so gentle with detangling my coarse 4c hair. It was even more relaxing when she used her steamer to add moister and bring my hair back to life. She listened to my wants and executed them very well. I left Leia’s chair feeling like a whole new woman. I can wait to book with her again!

I love this salon - they always exceed my expectations. I am very picky about my hair and have been to a lot of salons in various cities (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC) since we have moved a lot and thus lived many places. George has in-depth knowledge about hair - both in color expertise and cuts. Having taught color for Schwarzkopf for many years, he understands texture, color and cuts more than anyone I have experienced. For example, when I asked him about something that would help my hair be less frizzy, he commented that a Brazilian treatment would not work for my hair because of the texture and it would be too flat. He did not know that I had this treatment in another salon a few months ago and the result was exactly what he said! Because of his extensive and diligent knowledge of hair, he knew that my hair type would not work well with that treatment! He doesnt talk his clients into anything that he doesnt feel will work on them. In addition, my daughter comes to the salon and sees Bianca, who is also impressive - explaining a technique to blowdrying hair for cowlicks that will solve the problem! Cant say enough about this salon and the team! They are passionate about what they do and strive to do the best for their clients.

I always come here to get my hair highlighted when I’m at college and am never disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and the stylists are excellent. I’ve been going to Malia for a year and no one has ever made my hair look as great as she does.

I am incredibly disappointed. Me and my mom made an appointment with an specific hair stylist that was recommended to us by a very good friend. When we arrived everything seemed perfect, until the end of my haircut, when I realized that the hair stylist that took care of us was not the person I specifically asked for. The only reason we decided to drive all the way to downtown and spend the $$$$$, was because of the wonderful recommendation of my friend. I wish they would of contacted us ahead of time, to ask if we wanted to change the appointment or find another stylist. The haircut we both got was not worth the $$$. The issue would of been revolved with one phone call or message before our appointment. We didn’t get the hair stylist we asked for, where not told she was sick (found out because I asked), they had someone else replace her without telling us and charged us the same. Not going back!

I got a haircut from Jeri Delgado. Jeri is a truly talented hairdresser. She has great, thorough training in her background. This training and years of experience allow her to always give me a fresh, new look that is never what I see anywhere else and yet, it looks like me. I am comfortable and feel great when I leave her place..I am in my 60’s and she puts a “little sassy” in my haircut that I love.Jeri listens, understands and has a relaxed, creative way about her. She is always professional and runs on time.

I have been going to Vanessa for highlights for years! She always does great work and keeps my hair looking bright.The staff is extremely professional and friendly. It is very clean and socially distant. Client safety and cleanliness is clearly a priority for the salon.

Wowza!!! Ive been struggling for years to get the right blonde color. My hair is medium ash blonde and just kept getting brassy no matter what I did. Malia did an AMAZING job. She listened to everything I was saying and my hair is exactly the colors I wanted. She is a master colorist. This was a $600 highlight in a NYC salon.This is for sure my new go to place. The owner is also super amazing and nice. What a great find.HIGHLY recommend.

I think the woman who did my hair did a good job but I did not feel comfortable. I booked through ClassPass and I’m not sure if that’s the reason why I wasn’t offered a trim but she left my ends looking crispy. I would have paid for that had I known it wasn’t included but it wasn’t even offered. I think because I’m young and of color that may have had an effect on my treatment in the salon. This was my very first time applying heat since I went natural 3 years ago. I left a 40% tip and the woman quickly left the salon without giving me any tips on maintenance or sleep care. As a person of color I do not feel comfortable returning to the George Charles Salon.

I was visiting Chicago, needed a blowout. and chose this salon because it was close to my hotel. I booked online some 10 days ahead , a simple process. I selected a blowout at the time I needed, and it assigned me to a stylist, showing her rate to be $45. I included a note saying due to a back injury I would shampoo at my hotel, and arrive ready to style. I completed the booking and received a confirmation for a blowout with that stylist at $45.I arrived freshly shampooed, which surprised them as they hadnt seen my note, and chatted with the gal at the desk while waiting for my service. The stylist did a decent job, and I went back to the desk to pay.The girl informed me that the stylists rate was $65, not $45 as had been listed on the site and confirmed to me, and she hoped that was okay with me. I said it was NOT okay, that I had confirmation. She said sorry but it was $65 for this stylist. I was rushing to meet family and had no time to dispute this. So I said Id pay but never return there, saying theyd used a bait and switch. I asked why she didnt they tell me when I walked in, rather than after I was finished, and she shrugged.What a sleezy operation! I will never go there again, that was bad business practice and a ridiculous thing to do. Use caution if you choose to go.

I highly recommend coming to this salon. My stylist was Leia and she was so professional, extremely knowledgeable about natural hair, and did a beautiful job flat ironing, coloring, and trimming my natural hair. From the second you walk out of the elevator into this salon, you are greeted warmly and made comfortable with a robe and your choice of beverage. The salon is beautifully decorated and has tons of natural light. I came in with super processed blonde hair that had been bleached for close to a decade with the desire for a darker balayage. My stylist, Leia, was eager for the challenge and spent the entire afternoon making my vision a reality. Other stylists, including the owner, came over and consulted on my hair. I felt like everyone really cared that it came out how I wanted and patiently worked as a team to make sure it was perfect. My hair turned out better than I could have imagined. Leia did such a good job matching and blending my bleached hair with my roots that even now 2 months later it still looks natural. Even after an afternoon spent meticulously blending and treating my hair, she gave me a beautiful blowout and even styled it for me. I got so may compliments that day. I was intimidated to come to a Gold Coast salon but this was one of the best experiences I ever had. I will be returning!

She no lie had to remove the dye out of my hair using 4 different products because of how stubborn it was WITH caring for the integrity of my hair. She deep conditioned it. She put a dye, and a gloss over my hair. After hours and hours she styled my hair and made me feel so beautiful and so well taken care of Im looking forward to coming back so she can work her magic. If youre trying to decide where its at, its gotta be with Leia. No BS.

George, the owner, helped me pick out a wig. He made me feel so special and spent so much time with me! Fabulous salon! Joseph styled my wig expertly. He was an angel to me and was so patient.

Immaculate salon. Cleaning help was there every minute to insure safe surrounding. My stylist was from a prior salon and I decided to switch with her. I think it was a great decision. Very pleased that they use amomia- free colorings. I am definitely going back.

My first experience at the salon was impressive. The staff took great care to provide a safe, clean environment during Covid restrictions while being friendly and welcoming. The extremely talented Jeri and Shari brought my hair back to life!

The workers there are very charismatic and know how to treat a client. I will defiantly be coming back for any touch ups or hair coloring treatment! This experience was wonderful.

I’ve fine, wavy hair..the kind that grows frizzy like a Chia-pet in humidity. I’m consistently delighted with the cuts I’ve gotten from Jeri. She has shown me easy tips on how to manage my own issues with styling, — helpful! Also, she couldn’t be a lovelier human. The salon is immaculate. I’ve been twice during the pandemic, feeling very safe with everyone in mask compliance & beyond.
