Great show psycho chix were my favorite performers. It was a fun crowd. Friendly welcoming staff. Female bartener kinda rude after closing time tho.

Drinks are a tad pricey, but theyre very well made. Having a $7 cover charge on a Wednesday is a bit ridiculous though. Especially for Chico at a place where I cant even order any food and Id have to leave to get anything to eat. The live music is great though and I really had a blast listening to the bands. The bands were the best part, the venue was steadfastly okay for the price.

Total safe space for LGBTQ+. Everyone who works there is super friendly and nonjudgmental about how picky I am with drinks. 😂 They have some of the best shooters and the well drinks arent too expensive. I try to go here a few times a month theyre amazing!

A really nice anybody bar. They dont cater to any particular crowd and the staff and people who Ive met here have always been friendly. The monthly drag show is a ton of fun and always has good crowds. Outdoor patio for smokers is great too.

This is a fun little bar to come hang out and catch a good show. They often have a lot of different events here, usually live music, karaoke, comedy shows, burlesque, etc. If you like an eccentric sort of vibe then this is the place to visit. The only thing I would say is a big downside is that this place really needs an update on theyre space. Its a bit grungy and some seats are broken down. Other than that, its a unique and fun bar yo hang out!

You would think that I wouldve been unhappy with this bar but Im not. Actually I thought the staff was attentive and professional, and the atmosphere was actually pretty cool. The only reason they didnt get more stars is the furniture. Most uncomfortable booth Ive ever sat in and the table rocked more than a boat at sea. If they upgraded a little it would be one of the best watering holes in Chico. The only other problem was parking so prepare to walk a little bit if they have a busy night. All in all youll have fun with great drinks and a variety of entertainment choices through out the week. We will be going back.

I love this bar. Its consistently one of the most interesting places in town. Gay friendly, good drinks, and a killer patio. Shows here are always worth going to. If you havent been, make The Maltese pert of your next weekday excursion.

Not very forgiving prices, yet still generally worth it. The burgers are good, but not as good as the hype builds it up to be. Very worth doing, but not the 11 out of 10 attitude the hipsters claim.Ive never had bad food here, Ive also never had great food.Ill say that, I come back for a reason

My bar of choice. Drinks are decently priced, theres nightly events going on just about every night, very open-minded staff and friendly to all walks of life. Also theres a burlesque show every 1st Saturday of the month and its always top-shelf.

The Maltese Bar is my home away from home. The bar staff and owners are friendly, the bar itself is LGBTQ+ accepting, and they host a wide variety of shows like music, burlesque, drag, movie screenings, dance parties, karaoke, murder mysteries, fundraisers, and so much more. Theres something for everyone here, including the perfect whiskey & coke :)

Love the vibe. Super relaxed. The drinks were yummy and the staff friendly. The drag show was fantastic! Couldnt help but get out of my seat and soak up the energy.....

Place was AWESOME!!!! Came for the Emo Night Tour and the Djs and the band did NOT disappoint. Even had songs that I completely forgot from high school and loved!!! Thanks guys cant wait until next years!!

It has a nice divey vibe to it. Plus they have a decent stage and a smoking patio.

The Maltese does an excellent job of providing entertainment and culture for the Chico community. It seems that there is some form of event every night. The pricing is quite reasonable, & the service is exemplary. It is my favorite bar in the area.

By far the BEST bar in town! So many different things going on all the time. Only bar I will go to because its the safest one for me. The owners & staff are absolutely FANTASTIC!!

I would upload a photo but the event I attended here did not allow people to take pictures or videos. They hired someone for that job. The Sunday night I went they had like a play/show that I paid $25 at the door. They handed me a little momento along with a envelope and a ticket for a drink. Which also included to get a plate of food they made for this show. The performance was also a murder mystery for the adduince. It was pretty entertaining and when I thought it was obvious to solve it was one of the characters a didnt even pay attention to. So yeah, it was pretty good.

The Maltese is my go to place!! Just far enough that college students dont dominate but not too out of the way! I especially enjoy the burlesque show every first Saturday of the month and the twice weekly karaoke nights!!!

Staff was great. Karaoke was amazing. The atmosphere is that of a party at a friends house. Everyone was so friendly. Love this place!

Been here a few times, and the people are just rude and clickie. Try and talk to people and they ignore you. Thought the gay community was supposed to be open minded and not judgemental!!?? This has to be the worst gay community I have ever experience!

Barely outside of downtown. Most inclusive and welcoming place in town. Music, shows, comedy on Sundays most importantly.
