Unprofessional through the whole experience. We arrived early for our appointment and we were told it would be 10 to 15 completely fine. We weren’t taken back until 45 minutes after our appointment was scheduled so 55 minutes after we were told 10/15 minutes. There was an odd smell in the waiting room. When we got to the room my massage therapist did not ask me any questions about pressure I prefer or anything. It was evident that he was just going through the motions. He was using one hand at a time switching back and forth. He smelt of strong cigarette smoke which made the appointment not enjoyable. He never once asked how I felt about the pressure. He did have conversations with the female therapist and they were talking to each other and laughing at multiple times in our “relaxing” massage. When we went to leave we were charged a different price than I had gotten from the woman we checked in with. While standing there the female therapist came to the desk and blatantly said “ do you have my tip” I still planned to tip for the service even though my massage was not enjoyable but her approach was completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place.

My wife and I got a couples massage. I had never had a professional massage. It was life changing. Ive never felt so relaxed. The masseuse helped me get into the proper positions and made me feel very comfortable. I am a very large and stiff individual, her technique was able to loosen up my problem areas. (Neck, shoulders and back) I was also very surprised how well she massaged my legs and arms. The facility was very clean. The hostess was very friendly as well. I highly recommend! It was also a great deal! Dont forget to tip your masseuse! They work very hard!

Upon arrival for our 60 minute couples massage, the receptionist greets us with several questions. Are you using Groupon ($137.70) or their special ($140)? Are you paying with cash or card? Using a card would be a different amount.After I agreed to pay their cash price, I notice a sign on the window, Couples 50 minute spa massage for $115 So I ask the receptionist, other than the additional 10 minutes, whats the difference in the service? As if confused by the question, she response Well you are getting 1 hour not 50 minutes. I replied, Yes, I understand that but what is the difference in the massages? Again she looks puzzled and says So, that is for 2 people to get 50 minute massage but you are to get 1 hour, okay.Thanks to my husband and given that we were planning on paying the $140, I let it go.They were running 10 minutes behind so once we were escorted to the room there was no lighting and we had to use our phone to see to undress.Once the massages began, the 2 ladies talked in the native language the whole time and at one point they stop our massages to look at my nails and inquire about the colors. Prior to beginning, we request them not to touch our hair. This request was completely ignored. Once finished, we were rushed to get dressed and exit the room, I guess they had another client.The unbelievable part is when we go to exit, the 2 workers are at the reception desk instructing us to leave a tip. WHAT?! A tip? I looked at my husband who seemed equally amazed by their brazen behavior, I reached in my purse, pulled out two $5 bills, set it on the counter and walked out.I do not recommend this establishment to anyone. There are plenty of other places to provide better service.

Visited Risen Day Spa for the first time and left very impressed. Super clean facility/rooms, owner and staff are friendly and helpful.I opted for the herbal bath, which the bathtub is right in the massage room. Then a 60 minute massage. Sophia gave easily the best massage I’ve ever had. Medium pressure, using her hands, fingertips, elbows and forearms to work her magic. She asked several times if the pressure was right and to let her know if not.Had a nice and lighthearted conversation with everyone before leaving and told them I’m definitely coming back soon. Highly recommended!

When we were leaving some woman would not stop harassing us about a tip. She said its how her workers get by which for 1 you arent paying them enough because its a $200 massage and 2 how rude is that to ask us three or four times after we say no

So a little bit of a background on us. We’re not from Cincinnati and we’re here on a our anniversary and not wanting to mess it up much research was done before choosing this place.We used Groupon but even on Google this was one of the highest rank/reviewed places. I will say don’t be detoured by the outside appearance or even inside the lobby. They did an incredible job on me and my wife and we are complete opposites when it comes to how we like it. They thoroughly worked the preferred areas you point out during check in but not at the sake of the other areas.I know everyone has different preferences and or depth of massage and they excel at all. They also deserve higher praise for being able to handle any size person. I’m 6ft and a fluffy guy and my wife is 4’10 and small&gorgeous. That being said although a petite lady she had no issue giving a very good deep tissue massage.Definitely recommend going here if your goal is to leave happy.

My husband and I had a kid free evening and didnt have any plans. We decided last minute, a couple massage would be lovely, but knew the likelihood of us finding a booking on a Saturday with 4 hours notice was a shot in the dark. While every place we called was booked, Risen Day Spa said they happily book us a session. We were a bit nervous because the Google Reviews are either unbelievably positive or wildly negative. Let me tell you, this was THE BEST MASSAGE IVE EVER HAD, HANDS DOWN.We were told to arrive at 4:45 and the session didnt start till 5pm. We do not hold this against them in the slightest because they were so accommodating with booking us last minute. They still gave us the full 90 minute session. These women are small but incredibly mighty and know the true meaning of a deep tissue massage.Another review stated it felt like the massage therapist rushed. I was nervous the first few minutes of the massage because I noticed she was quickly hitting multiple areas of my body. I mention this because you just need to trust their process! They do this so they can quickly warm up each muscle in your body before diving into the full blown massage.Several reviews also mentioned the language divide. While English is not their first language, they were incredibly polite and we never once felt like they didnt understand us or our needs. They were very kind and asked repeatedly if the pressure they were applying was okay. There was no language barrier that stopped us from enjoying the service they were providing and their English was quite impressive when we were interacting with them before and after the massage.All in all, we will absolutely come back and we would encourage others to ignore the negative reviews and trust the positive ones. These ladies know what they are doing. Also for the price, you simply cannot beat it. 90 minute couple massage for $205. Thank you, Risen Day Spa, we loved our experience!

These ladies really worked out all the tension in my shoulders. Great place for a couples massage. It’s definitely a no frills salon but for the price, it really can’t be beat. If you’re looking for something more high end, this is not it. That said, I would definitely go back!

Service: 10/10My girlfriend and I had an incredible time.We are avid massage enthusiasts and both of us agreed that this was one of the bestassages weve ever had.There was a bit of noise from outside the room that took me out of the experience a few times but it wasnt bad enough to dock any points.

Just finished up a 50 minute couples spa with my fiancé and I, and wow they did an amazing job. They were very welcoming, and outstanding with their work. My shoulders and legs feel so much better after a 50 hour work week on concrete all day. We will definitely be back!

My fiance and I got a couples massage off of Groupon for this place, so at first we weren’t really sure what to expect. But honestly this was one of the best massages I’ve had in a long time. Great prices (even without the groupon!), great service, great quality. Will definitely be returning soon!

I’ve been here twice now. My gal pal and I have gotten couples massages. They’re fantastic. They start with a rub down to warm up the muscles(so important), scalp to feet, ask how the pressure is, use hot stones for a few minutes, WIPE OFF THE OILS with a warm wet rag, then stretch you out. It’s great.They don’t push product on you like other places which then actually takes up your massage time.Highly recommend, worth every penny.

My first time here was amazing. Had an incredible massage. Unfortunately the masseuse I had the first time no longer works there, but I had high hopes in whoever they had on staff.My second time was absolutely terrible. There was 0 effort put into the actual massage, it felt extremely rushed, I even stopped the masseuse Mid-massage to tell her to slow down and concentrate on each muscle, she said Okay and proceeded to rush through my massage as if she had something more important to do. I walked out feeling the exact same way I felt when I walk in, stiff and in pain. Will not recommend to anyone.

I got the 1 hour massage with hot stones for $70. This was my first massage and it felt amazing. I think the $70 was a special that they had going on but it was absolutely worth it. My body feels very refreshed.

I booked a couples massage for my wife and I on 5-7 @ 4:00 we arrived on time and they were ready for us. They promptly took us back and started the massage. The front staff was very friendly. The two ladies that did our massage were also very friendly, I wish I would have gotten their names. If the staff check these reviews I would appreciate if you could tell me the names so I can ask for them when we come back.The massage felt amazing and I couldn’t believe how fast the 70 minutes went. The room was nice and dark with soft music playing. The beds were comfortable but mine was a little squeaky, that would be my only complaint, and that is just nit picking.I highly recommend this place, we plan on doing another couples massage for Father’s Day.Thank you for the great massage.

I have to say that this is one of the worst customer service experiences Ive ever had. I called about 3 weeks ago to capitalize on a groupon for date night. The groupon was for 90 minute couples massage. I originally wanted to book a Saturday but they said they dont accept groupons on Saturday even though that was not part of the fine print. I then asked our babysitter to come on Sunday. The massage was supposed to be for 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. so I booked the babysitter from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. because we live about 20 minutes away. I made sure that the person scheduling was aware that the groupon was for a 90-minute massage. This place did not call to confirm the appointment the day before so I proactively called the morning of to confirm with the owner. She agreed that I was down for a 5:00 p.m. appointment. At 4:00 p.m., she called me to ask if I can come at 5:20 instead because multiple clients were late. This was not acceptable because we did not book our babysitter for longer and our children go to bed early. I then asked what time the massage would end and if she could just refund me the difference in time so that I can still leave at 6:30 as planned. She proceeded to tell me that the massage was a 50 minute massage and that I can cancel if Id like. It seemed like she really wanted me to cancel. I would caution anyone who is not flexible with booking this facility. I would also call multiple times to make sure that they scheduled you for the right appointment. Ive never dealt with such an insensitive owner and if you read other reviews, it would seem poor customer service is the norm.

I called weeks before our anniversary to schedule a couples massage. I even called back to make sure I had written down the right time and confirmed. When we got there, they didn’t have our reservation and wanted to massage us in separate rooms. That would have totally defeated the purpose of planning something romantic for our anniversary. Very disappointed.

Never been to a massage place and my bf and I came here first after Valentine’s Day. Wow. LIFE CHANGING. The price here is so reasonable that we come here every 2 or 3 weeks. I’ve had several different women massage me and it is just such a good refreshing massage. I feel recharged and ready to take on the world after every visit. They use several different techniques each time and each works to relax and work out the stress of your muscles. I will continue to come here every few weeks and am taking the bar this summer so I plan to schedule an extra long session right before I take it because their hands are magic and the sessions are the perfect recharge. Anyways I love them and love every person that works here and they have changed my life and if your are looking for a good Cincinnati massage come here and I recommend the $115 spa special for couple 50 minute massages!! 💆🏽‍♀️

I gave 5 stars because the couples massage was so great. However, there was construction going on inside the building where they were adding on another room. There was a vacuum running and staple guns for about half our massage, which made it difficult to relax.Otherwise, it was great. I took my boyfriend for a couples massage for his birthday. Both our masseuses were attentive and asked for permission when touching certain places. Will definitely go back here and try some of their other services.

We were highly disappointed in the $170 massage we paid for. Communication wasn’t the best, as the masseuses didn’t appear to fully understand our requests. I did ask for pressure to be lighter but not sure she understood what I meant. Also the lack of preparedness for the massage. They had to leave out of the room to get the stones and warm towels. I was able to hear the front desk staff and customers walking in and the door handle even jiggled. Overall I just couldn’t relax and the massage wasn’t good. We won’t ever return.

Just walked in after driving by and seeing the sign. I had a great massage with strong pressure like I prefer, and she even used hot stones which was a nice touch. The room was large with a closet for my belongings and a shower. Friendly staff and excellent service. I will definitely be back soon!

Went in for spa day, got a body treatment and massage. Service was wonderful. Prices were excellent. Shower after the scrub was nice , warm and relaxing. The robes were very soft. Not many places offer bath treatments/soaks but they do! It was a really nice set up and atmosphere.10/10 would recommend. Definitely would go back.Took all the necessary COVID precautions as well, felt very safe and comfortable.

My first experience at Risen and I can say it was by far the best full body massage Ive had. The masseuse was excellent! She applied perfect pressure and kept the environment very relaxing. I have gone to many different places for massage, I’ve never had a “bad” experience, but I will say that Risen Day is the absolute best massage experience I have EVER had. I have been twice and Zalena was my massage therapist. I swear to you after she left the room I cried it was so amazing. I was in pain before I arrived and afterward I was so much better. Honestly, I’m planning on making this a ritual at least twice a month. Don’t hesitate- you’ll be glad you went.

I called and got voicemail at first and they returned my call super quick. I went in for a 90 minute essential oil and hot stone couples massage. The ladies behind the counter are super friendly and sweet and were able to take us back as soon as we showed up even though we were early. The lady who did my massage was very thorough and communicative. The stones were great, and the essential oil treatment is a head and temple massage and oh. my. goodness. I could have died on that table and been completely content. This was the queen of all head rubs. This is the reason dogs accepted domestication. She didn’t skip any part of the whole body, as sometimes therapists may neglect the hands, feet, or neck. I was so sore from ballet and workouts that I had knots all up and down m spine and shoulders. This lady is an angel. She kept firm pressure the whole time and worked those knots out. I’m going to sleep like a baby bear in December. 11/10. Do not be fooled by the kroger hand soap, this place is five stars.

Bathroom was out of paper towels and the hand and foot treatment was a little lacking in my opinion, but overall it was phenomenal and I absolutely wont hesitate to come here again. Ladies, if you are experiencing that time of the month and are second guessing your appointment, DONT. All of my monthly lower back pain is gone, as are my cramps. TREAT YOSELF

Making an appointment is very easy. Front reception is excellent. You are greeted in a very friendly way. The massage therapist was very professional and very knowledgeable about the body.I recommend Risen Spa to anyone who needs the stress relief from the activity of your life.

Went in for a couples massage, very relaxing. Hannah and Grace were AMAZING. My honey has a terminal illness where he is in constant pain everyday. He felt great even days after. The hot stones and hot towels were a nice touch. They are friendly and do a great job, will be back soon!

Called to schedule an appointment for a couples massage, the woman that answered was very, very rude. I asked to schedule an appointment she said I couldn’t schedule until the following week. I let her know that’s fine, I request Friday she said OKAY and hung the phone up. She did not take any information from me. If this is the level of service of scheduling an appointment I can’t imagine what’s it’s like to actually show up. I will not spend my hard earned money here EVER! Look elsewhere!!

Reserved a couples massage with the intent of getting a nice relaxing couples massage with my partner. I called earlier in the day to confirm my appointment again, but once I arrived they mentioned that they would not be able to have us in the same room for our massage due to construction, which is the point of a couples massage. The receptionist told us that the construction should be done in a couple of days, so we rescheduled for the next week. However, when we showed up the next week the spa was locked with no one inside, and no one answering phones.Very frustrating to have to drive out here twice for this. I already paid for a Groupon for this so I cant get a refund, making this even more frustrating. Time to trade in my Groupon for something else because I dont want to come back again to end up not getting a massage.

Amazing spa!! We were visiting from out of town and decided to check this place out. We did the couples massage. We loved it! We also loved everything including the essential oils (very calming), hot stones, and hot towels. Definitely a treat! We will be back the next time we are in the city!!

Ive was gifted a groupon and they refuse to pick up the phone for me to book it! Do not recommend buying!Update: I was finally able to book, (miraculously after this initial review they answered) the receptionist had zero clue how to book an appointment. When i arrived they did take us straight back. But about 20 minutes into the massage they interrupted me saying the Groupon was invalid, but it wasnt. (Shouldnt we have figure that out first?) and i left in more pain than when i arrived. I dont think they are licensed massage therapists.

I found this spa online, and I decided to try because I really have pain in my back and neck, so i did an appointment. Honestly it was fantastic, i really enjoyed it! 100% will recommend! And definitely will come back!

I had a deep tissue massage today , its absolutely amazing . I highly recommend to schedule an appointment for yourself if you have any tightness or sore muscles from stress .

Showed up for appointment (4:30) door was locked, sign says open and we did make appointments for couples massage. Called phone number 4 times in 15 minutes, no answer. At 4:45 an employee comes from a clothing store next door and opens the massage door. She tells us one of the employees that was supposed to do the couples message had an emergency and wed have to reshcedule, we drove 40 minutes for our appointment. If theyre was an emergency why didnt someone call us to let us know? Why didnt this employee answer our calls? Why was she not at the front desk and next door at a clothing store? Horribly irresponsible, unorganized, and unprofessional. A waste of my time.

They are not licensed therapists. And some do not even have any official training at all! They just try to look like they know what they are doing. The good ones speak no English, or if they speak English, they are not massage therapists. It is all about taking your money and no service. AVOID

Had an appointment at 730, got in early, they started right away. Was a couples massage, we had a good time, and were happy with our experience.

I loved the essentail oil massage with stones. It seemed to last longer than I expected which is great, I never want my massage to end. Friendly. I would definately be back.
