While exploring the Flats area in Cleveland, we ran across The Lake House. The ambience, culture, food and service were amazing and deserving of praise. While we only enjoyed appetizers and drinks, the menu looked great and the food we sampled was excellent and served in a pleasant and timely manner. I recommend a stop here while visiting Cleveland.
This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it.The ambience was great. You could hear the music from a neighboring music while you enjoyed outdoor dining. There were outdoor games to play while you waited for food which was great because there was somewhat of an extended wait. The appetizers and meal were great. There was a mishap with a runner spilling ketchup on my son, but the server was extremely attentive and accommodating even offering complimentary desserts. The server was great, the lake view and atmosphere was wonderful and there were no complaints from my husband, children or myself about the food or beverages. Will definitely return.
I loved this place! The food was delicious, and the view by the lake was fantastic. There was no wait time to be seated, and the food was prepared in about 15 minutes. We tried the smash burger and the crab dip. Both were delicious with generous portions, and I highly recommend them. Sitting by the lake provided a great view, and the staff was friendly as well.
This was our first time here, and we were pleasantly surprised. Its winter so we werent able to sit on the water but the inside wasnt bad. Since it was Valentines day I would have liked a little more space between tables. We ordered the crab dip for an appetizer and it came out piping hot and was very good. My wife ordered the lobster roll and I had the fish and chips. I only ordered the fish and chips to keep them honest as a seafood restaurant but they kept me honest! The fish was perfectly fried and very meaty, the house tartar was top notch. I could say the fries were good but they were better than good. Overall, this is a place we will definitely be during the summer.
I had the smash burger and fries and they were delicious. The heavenly biscuits were as the name states. The Crab Dip was also really good. The service during lunch was impeccable and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I imagine it would be even more delightful for dinner. I would definitely recommend this establishment and look forward to returning in the future.
This is my second review of this great restaurant, and I hope it stays this time. Our family went for dinner, and it was a delight and an enjoyable time. The food was great, and customer service was on time. The food was prepared and bought to our table in a timely manner and at the right temperature. We also, for dessert, got the key lime pie, which was just right to finish dinner with
We wanted a special dinner for Fathers Day. My husband called Saturday knowing many establishments follow special menus or protocols for holidays and specifically asked for tomorrow, Fathers Day. He was told no reservations, walk in only. We went early to arrive by 5pm, paid $20 to park, and were told upon checking in they were reservations only for Fathers Day. In fact that if we had called yesterday they wouldnt have been able to accommodate us because they stopped taking reservations 3 days ago. We even showed them call history on our phone. As the convo escalated and my husband kept repeating This just isnt right. the GM offered we could wait 1 1/2 hours. There were plenty of empty tables. I know staffing since Covid has also been an issue but this could have been handled so much better. Hopefully there will be improved communication internally amongst those that are client facing when it comes to reservations.
Went here for dinner. Location is the main draw, right along the river. The goodAgain, location was great. Along the water, great views, weather was perfect so we sat outside. Waiter was good, attentive, and did a nice job.Food was good, but we had gone to another place for a pre dinner beer and had some fries, was not that hungry so we split a meal, a very good Caesar salad for starter, and spicy shrimp tacos. The food was good, no complaints at all. Had the key lime pie for the finish, a huge piece (way too much for one person). The pie crust was perfect, not soggy, but the pie was a tad too sweet…could have had a bit less sugar which would have made the key lime flavor pop instead of being covered by the sweetness. Now the badWalking through the inside of restaurant on our way to the patio almost made us turn around and leave. The overpowering stench of sour mopped floors filled the place! Wow…think somebody would notice, but obviously not…maybe that is why there was nobody sitting inside!2nd bad was all the outside tables rock very badly due to the slanted patio, and we watched every server stuff handfuls of napkins under the legs every time somebody was seated. Obviously a known issue, but something nobody cares to fix!3rd issue was the copious amount of sparrows filling the eating area. Constantly flying in and out of the tables, and when someone would leave they would literally cover the table, attacking the food remaining in the dishes. Again, a known issue, but nobody seemed to clear the tables right away, so again, no attempt to minimize the intrusion. One other small issue was we were trying to choose between the two Chardonnays on the menu, and our server offered to bring us a taste of each…nice. Unfortunately this never showed up, and our server came back later and said there was only one bartender who was swamped. We just ordered a glass of each, but was then surprised at how quickly we got them…after being told the swamped bartender was supposedly unable to provide a taste…Would I go there again…probably not.Would I recommend…probably not. Plenty of other places in the area to choose from.
The atmosphere at this restaurant is great. We sat right by the water and enjoyed watching the boats on the river, but we did not enjoy our food at all. We waited quite a while which was fine.We werent in a hurry, but when it finally did come out it was disappointing. It was like nothing was seasoned. I generally finish my food when I go out to eat, but I left at least half on my plate. For the price of our food, I would definitely expect more. I won’t be back.
We were seated outside around 6:50 & left at 8 without ever receiving our food. We got our drinks right away, ordered soup & salad & Caesar w/salmon - not too complicated, but that’s as far as we got. We ordered a 2nd round & waited but didn’t receive our drinks or dinner. After watching people seat, eat & leave, we left - hungry. Too bad, the patio & view was really nice.
We absolutely loved our dining experience. The food was delicious and served quickly. The atmosphere is adorable and decorated to perfection! Very clean. Beautiful view looking over the water. This was our first time visiting Cleveland and we will definitely be back!
GREAT atmosphere. Drinks and food were very tasty and prices are more than reasonable. The only downside is that they don’t have many options on their dinner menu - at least not Saturday. Besides that, everything perfect!
1st time in. Paid for group of 7 so wanted a stellar experience. Atmosphere great.Yet if visit during the day and wish to dine on the porch you will share the deck with birds who fly on your table competing for your food. Prob no way to prevent it but DONT feed the birds folks! Yet setting is nice.Service very slow, dont be in a hurry.Beer not cold at all, waitress volunteered ice for our beer, have never heard of that before, actually offering it without request.Food was just above average. Walleye dinner is basically a bisque with small walleye filet, but tasty. All in all, glad we went but cannot say I have a desire to return or suggest it to friends.
Honestly, had high expectations of this restaurant but they have fallen way short. We got seated fairly quick but everything after went south fast. It took roughly 15 minutes to get a drink order in and another 5 minutes after to get a glass of water. We waited another 10 minutes in order to put in our food. After which we waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come back and tell us she couldn’t read her handwriting and she hadn’t put the order in. It took a total of 1 hour to get our food from ordering. We requested a manager and they sent what seemed to be a high schooler to help. Honestly this place had good food, but the kitchen can’t carry the front staff. This staff needs proper training and the manager needs to do better as well as the first time we requested to speak he walks past us and quickly asks if the food was good and then moves on before we could say anything. Highly disappointed in this place and I will not be returning. Many other places I would spend my money at before here.
Am I in Nantucket or Cleveland?! Had the BEST experience here and would come back again and again. The decor + vibe are so great. Had a Caesar Salad + Crab dip and both were divine. Crab dip was steaming hot and salad was perfection on a plate. Music was great, bar service was outstanding. Seriously, so cute — a “can’t miss” for CLE.
Visited this past weekend and wasn’t impressed with the food. I had the salmon and it was very bland. It also came with fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was just cabbage in a bowl. I like my coleslaw on the dryer side but this had absolutely nothing on it. For the price of the food it wasn’t worth it. Other than the food the atmosphere is great and the server was very attentive.
Atmosphere was nice and view was amazing the service and food portions made our time a 1 star. We had a group of 12 and server refused to separate bill. We were forced to have 1 ticket with a 20% gratuity. Although i get a large group i feel if we received poor service i should have option to decline the $135 tip charged to us. We spent an hour trying to separate the bill as they would only take 2 credit cards. Server had a poor attitude and had to hunt her down to order.
I would not recommend this restaurant for the staffing issues. We went mid afternoon during a slow time and asked if we could sit outside or near outside for the views. Host said there were no tables available and sat us inside in a back corner table. I asked if we could move to the two tables that we saw open next to each other in the outside section (7 of us). She said she would check, and then told us we couldn’t sit there so they “wouldn’t risk losing the tables.” Very weird reason, especially since our party was already there and ready to eat, not only have drinks or something. Not sure what was actually going on, but it rubbed us the wrong way so we left and went to eat down the street. Bummed they couldn’t make a seemingly harmless accommodation.
Wonderful experience at the Lakehouse! Mitch, our server, really made us feel at home for our first foray to this restaurant. He was friendly, offered us great guidance on the specialty drinks and food that the Lakehouse offers. He did such a good job explaining it, that we all ordered drinks and food that were unique to the Lakehouse and we were all very pleased with everything we ordered. Mitch was a wonderful host. His extra effort really made the nice surroundings, atmosphere, and food an absolutely exceptional experience. Thank you, Mitch!
Their grilled salmon salad was so so so salty that made wonder if they spilled the salt shaker. Look at the picture I took and see the sprinkles of salt on it? Some of the previous reviews said their fish had no flavor, and now I see the chef is overcompensating it😅Their heavenly biscuits looked like scones. I like the buttery taste of it, but again it was a little bit too salty for biscuits. Staffs are friendly though.
Fantastic food and even better service! Our server’s name was Melissa (if I’m not mistaken) and she was the best! Extremely friendly and really helped us feel welcomed! The food was awesome, especially the heavenly biscuits. We visited from out of town, and if we’re ever in the area again, we’ll be back!
Good food, polite service, clean facilities, lovely view of the lake while you eat. Nice breeze and it’s in the shade so great for a hot afternoon or evening. It’s a bit crowded but that’s typical for city restaurants. We didn’t have to wait too long for a table. The food was awesome and the drinks were good too. Tofu tacos were a good vegetarian option for my wife. I got the chicken Caesar salad and it was very good. The calamari also very good.
The Lakehouse was an absolute blast! A group of us came for a sunset dinner, taking in the stunning views and unreal food (veg options! 🥳) on the patio. As the night rolled in, the place transformed – the DJ got the party started, and I had this watermelon moonshine drink I’ll dream about! It turned out to be one of the most fun nights we’ve ever had in Cle! If you’re looking for a spot that combines amazing dining with an epic night out, this is it!
Stopped by on our way to Chicago from New York. This place exceeds expectations.->The heavenly biscuits are beyond delicious- I highly recommend. They’re very buttery and cheesy ! Perfect as an appetizer of 4/5 people.->Guacamole however is too small !!! Delicious but tiny. It has an distinct taste. Very lemony and love the pepitas touch. We had to order 2 for 4 people.->Lemon Parmesan chicken comes with a delicious arugula salad- this can be easy for 2 people ! The portions for the entrees are generous.->Shrimp & grits was amazing as well! The Shrimp was very well cooked and the grits are well seasoned and juicy!-> Lindsey’s lobster roll was very filling. Juicy and partnered well with the tarragon Mayo made a good combo-> Ale battered fish & chips; juicy and not oily. The lake house sauce was a really good match for the fish.Patrick was amazing and accommodated our needs. He was very friendly and checked up on us frequently. He also brought us back a list with places to go to since we told him we were out of town. Thank you!!!
Food was decent. Had the fish and chips and it was decent. My wife had the salmon and she said it was good. The only complaint we had was the DJ playing thumping dance hip hop music at diner time. Im not sure if they do this every Saturday , but it made the dining experience pretty bad.Note to the Lake House....lose the dance party music at dinner time!!!
What a lovely place on the water. Before you get inside there are firepits, and loads of Adirondack chairs. They have corn hole and an oversized Connect 4. The food is delicious...the warm heavenly biscuits served with honey butter is something you definitely want to order! I had the grilled chicken sandwich with broccoli! If you have seafood allergies make them aware. The fried items are cooked in the same oil as shrimp so even though the fries and the chicken looked good I had to pass them up. Bryce was a wonderful and attentive waiter. Hard to believe he had been working there only one week!
Great location and a very fun place. Staff at the bar were working incredibly hard and were very nice. Service was fast and efficient. My meal was good, but the chicken was pretty dry. I wish the menu had some more options. Cant wait to come back though because the atmosphere was awesome!
Had the salmon salad. Salmon was great! I do wish the salad had a couple more veggies in it besides arugula and tomatoes. Mocktail was delicious. Service was a little slow, but they were pretty busy. The patio seating was perfect!
As a hospitality professional down here on business, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The service rated 5 and food a 4.Seated at a great table by the water, told we would have a top server, and introduced to Leanne. Please thank her for a great service!! She was able to accommodate a couple of special requests and handled the drawbacks professionally. The drawbacks were that they are getting away with the name Lobster Bisque, the plastic wrap found in the soup, and asked to wait for Key Lime pie which did not arrive.
We came in on a beautiful day and it was very busy. The receptionist Olivia was so kind and she did a great job understanding my situation while managing expectations regarding the wait. As someone who works in quality, you are lucky to have her! Thank you!
We visited the The Lakehouse last Saturday night for dinner. PROS: the Heavenly Biscuits, Crab and Parmesan Dip, the fish that came with the Fish and Chips, our waitress, and the view of the river and watching the boats go by. CONS: the fries with all the entrees were not hot, cole slaw (blah), and the shrimp coating on the Shrimp Platter was mushy. HUGE CON: loud thumping noise from huge amplifiers! It was awful. Our waitress couldn’t do anything about it. We couldn’t even hear her to order our food. We were getting ready to just leave when my daughter went inside for one last ditch effort and got us moved clear to the other end of the patio where the water taxi comes in (much better). We asked our waitress what was up with that obnoxiously loud thumping and she said it was to create a dance club atmosphere. Huh? I know the manager will say “different guests have varying preferences for dining ambiance” and it is the lively atmosphere of the Flats, but no. Just no.
Loved this place! The smash cheeseburger and hot chicken sandwich were perfectly cooked. The chicken was juicy, and tender, and the beef had great flavor and well portioned. The biscuits are a must have. As a starter, youll want to order another, but Id say its even great after the meal if you like to finish with something buttery, and very mildly sweet. The staff was incredible. Our server was one of the best Ive had. She made excellent recommendations, was very fast with refills, and was a genuine people person. I will absolutely return when Im in Cleveland again
Maitre d tried to play us and sat a table of 4 who came in after us before us. Nevertheless we had great food and service. Chopped salad with salmon was ok, salmon had no flavor. Nashville hot chicken sandwich was also ok, added bacon and tomato to make it palatableWould go back for the view- location is outstanding 👏🏾
We tried The Lake House for the first time today. We had marvelous views from the patio of freighters and other watercraft coming down the river. The food and service were excellent. Highly recommended are the crab and parmesan dip and lemon parmesan crusted chicken with arugula salad. The biscuits with honey butter are so yummy! We will definitely be back.
The view and ambience is great. But the food sucked - we ordered salmon with veggies and got a bowl of unsalted- unseasoned steamed broccoli. The Salman was also just as tasteless. The only thing they can make well are fries and you get an extra dose of that with everything. The staff too was disappointingly clueless. When we booked the table we were 4th on waiting list but after 15mins of waiting, we were told we are now 7th on the list. Like how??? They had about 7 ushers but each of them more lost than the other on how their booking system works. We had taken our friends from outta town to give them a true blue Cleveland hospitality experience but it was such a let down and embarrassing for us.
The positives are that the food is great (try the Chilean Sea Bass or the shrimp and grits), the beer choices are good and the outside patio is right in the lake/river. The service was also good but we ate at the bar, so we were right in front of our server the whole time! The odd/weird thing was that they don’t take reservations and when we got there 6-7 tables were wide open but they wouldn’t seat us as they were “reserved”. I wish I could explain how that works but after a few tries we just gave up trying to understand and say at the bar and ate!?VictorB
Early evening arrival. Beautiful setting. Got drinks. Ordered dinner. 30 mins go by, no dinner, no waiter. (BTW dinner was not complicated; soup, salad w/ salmon.). Left $ to cover drinks.Sadly disappointed.
Ambiance is nice, we sat by the fire since we were cold. Our server ZACH is AMAZING. He handsdown has been the best server i have had in many years. Please give Zach a raise he deserves it. He should be your server trainer!Food... we came for brunch, were promptly greeted and seated. Ordered the cinnamon rolls and a few entrees to try as i am considering this location for my bday brunch. The cinnamon rolls were decent, i like hot soft and sweet, they were crispy, semi sweet, and cool in the center. The bacon was PERFECT!!! It is sweet and a hint of spice. I usually have to beg restaurants to cook it harder, the nailed it. Thank you. The sausage were not so good. They were huge which is rare but it just tasted like ground pork and not sausage with seasonings (sage). I love sausage so i was disappointed. The homefries didnt look appealing (they are dark) BUT... THEY WERE SOOOOO DELICIOUS! The breakfast sandwich needed a jelly/jam option not mayonnaise (yuck). The chicken and waffle was also very very good. My sisters chicken breast was huge! And lastly the signature biscuit was served very warm which is great but...it did not go with my breakfast. Itvwould be great with a soup or salad but it is horrible with bacon and eggs (my opinion). They needed a nice warm roll or plain buttermilk biscuit or offer toast.Overall it was great for the price of our total bill which was about $65 including gratuity (Zack desereved every penny...request him if you come in).Restaurant owner... please consider hot chocolate for winter /early spring months 🙏🏾Thank you Lindeys staff- the cook who prepared egg whites for special for me and shout out to the amazing Zach.
Not gonna sugar coat it: the two stars are for the water view of the Cuyahoga out on the patio.Drove in from Chicago with my wife and she had seen a TikTok about The Lakehouse and really wanted to try it. I work in the industry so I understand when things like short staffing and bigger than normal crowds turn up, but it wasnt like thats something that should effect the actual effort by the staff. From host stand to server to the food it was a disappointment all around.Maybe its not always like this, but I would not consider ever going back. Even if I still lived in Cleveland.
Beautiful location with inside and outside seating. Food was great and servers were helpful and attentive. Cant wait to go back on my next trip to Cleveland!
Our party of 5 arrived for early dinner on Saturday at 4:30pm and got seated within 5 minutes. Our first time here. They don’t accept reservations in summer, because they say they are so busy. The XL table with booth was raised up like 2’ so it was awkward getting in/out wearing dress & platform shoes. Table was dirty when we were seated. Attentive server. Drinks were ok for flavor, but weak (margarita & rum remedy). Appetizers: biscuits were great, tacos had soggy shell so who knows how long they sat before brought out, and crab cake was over seasoned without adding the sauce. Entrees: lemon chicken was great, salmon was great, walleye was ok, and ribs were horrible (dry and NOT fall off the bone, yes “knife & fork” is an appropriate name on the menu). Desserts: key lime pie was great and the cookie/ice cream was ok. Atmosphere was ok; nothing special with bunch of pictures of people lakeside & books on open bookcase separating sections of the restaurant. Watched a barge pass during dinner and it honked very loudly; sensory sensitive individuals (SPD & ASD) beware! Cramped space outside for corn hole & XL chessboard, for those who have to wait to be seated. Overall… ok. Most likely will not go back.
Did not meet expectations. Many items were not available in my visit, including their famed heavenly biscuits. Service levels here was inconsistent--the young bar back was the nicest person there, all others were quick to ignore my party and rarely checked on us. Calamari was the best thing on the menu. All other dishes we ordered were mediocre.
Worst fish and chips I have ever had. Outside crusty, inside gummy. Over fried. Same goes for the Nashville chicken and firecracker shrimp. Sever was attentive, but a little busy/preoccupied. We will be taking a break from this establishment.
Pretty good clam chowder, fish sandwich, and shrimp platter. The battered fish and chips were so salty that we peeled the batter off just to get very little fish. The waitress didnt volunteer to bring over the manager. So we let it go because everything else was good. We thought that they would provide better customer service. Not so.
Overpriced for marginal quality food, at best. The sandwiches look better than the entrees. My Thai Chicken Salad was the worst Ive ever had at any price. The chicken was overcooked and dry; the salad was missing avocado, which was listed on the menu. The taste was not Thai but sesame and the presentation was very poor, with all the chicken clumped to one side of the bowl. (I know eight year olds that can do a much better job on preparing and serving food.) The only saving grace of the Lakehouse Restaurant is the Riverfront view. How this place stays in business is a wonder to me, hence this review. Do Clevelanders have low expectations while dining in the Flats?
Very nice. Menu was limited, but we all found something we wanted and everything was great. Great atmosphere. Great service. Nice view. Nothing not to like here. Would recommend.
The decor is fabulous and the view left a feel of a comfortable getaway and break from the busyness of the city. Food was nearly perfect and service was exceptionally fast. Presentation was fabulous. Drinks were also good and strong. Music playing in the background may have been a little loud but who complains about that after a few happy drinks?
My dad & I had been wanting lobster rolls so we decided to drop in for Father’s Day weekend. The weather was perfect so it was ideal to be on the patio with that view of the river. The lobster roll was so good & had a great portion of lobster as you can see. The Chips were fine but lacking compared to the roll and for price. Appropriate beer selection complimented the meal & venue. We had Bryon as our server, he was wonderful and had an infectious smile. All in all, I was happy to pay for the food, service & views on the occasion.
I love this place and eat here often. I was recently disappointed in the lobster roll. The lobster was only on top of the roll and none inside the roll. While delicious, not worth $28. Also, the music was too loud inside. I recommend going, just avoid the tiny lobster and roll.
Went in on Wednesday 6/19/24 for my wifes and I anniversary dinner. Asked to be seated inside due to the heat and was sat by the open garage doors leading outside. We sat for 15 minutes, and were never even acknowledged by any wait staff that we were sitting there. Had to find someone else for our special evening. This wasnt it.
The food was delicious and the service was great dont get me wrong but our waitress might have been nervous but she just kept popping up out no where, My caregiver and I were in mid conversation and its BAM! There she is. Like damn no excuse me but again maybe she was nervous or overwhelmed .
Really disappointing experience in every way it could be disappointing. My salmon arugula salad was completely raw.The waitress never asked us how we even wanted the salmon for our salads done. Good restaurants normally do thos.Spent an inordinate amount of time waiting for a new one as I was watching my husband eat his.The salad with salmon was as skimpy as it got along with a small handful of arugula. There were no draught beers available because their system wasnt functional. No IPAs of any kind. Hard to get the waitress even bring a glass to the table. Never did.The mens restroom according to my husband felt like he was floating on urine in the filthy bathrooms.Explained the bad to the manager who said hed refund our dinner, but we had already paid. Seemed pretty unconcerned and offered nothing else.A seventy five dollar dinner on 2 tiny, meager salmon salads, one glass of wine and 2 beers. Dont waste your time.
I have never been treated so poorly in my life. The General Manager, Brad, was the most aggressive, rude person I have ever experienced in my life. It is a beautiful spot and food was good. Brad is a tyrant and mistreats customers and his staff. I will never go back.
August 2021: My supervisor was in town and had never been to Cleveland. So as host, I needed to find a good place to show off the Land and get a good bite to eat. Enter Lindseys Lake House on the beautiful, picturesque East Bank of the Flats. We went on a weekday while the parking prices and availability was not too bad ($5 - $10 USD). Also, we were very fortunate to have sunny weather with a nice summer breeze. It was still somewhat hot so we sat by the deck doors to get the best of both worlds - air conditioned coolness, shade from the sun, and exposure to the Cuyahoga River beaming with an assortment of boaters, rowers, and kayakers. We ordered a few Haze Jude IPAs, the heavenly biscuits, and the firecracker shrimp for starters. Everything paired extremely well - the crisp, citrusy pale ale was smooth and not as hoppy as I would have expected, but delicious nonetheless. The firecracker shrimp arrived on a bed of house special cole slaw and tasted somewhat like the bang bang shrimp from the Bonefish Grill. It was very tasty, had a kick, but not too spicy. The shrimp paired well with the sweet, honey buttered bread. For the entree, I ordered the shrimp and grits mainly because I was curious as to how they would prepare it. The food arrived fairly quickly and it was flavorful. The grits had a moist, yet thick texture to them and they did not have any seasoning on them except for the butter. I was almost disappointed until I found out that I needed to mix the zesty shrimp and veggies in with them. Once I did that, everything blended well and was seasoned just right 👌🏾.Pros:* The waiter (I forgot his name) was very friendly, courteous, and efficient. He gave us plenty of time to order and thoroughly explained the alcohol offerings.* Clean restaurant with a bright white ambience. Clean white tables, white chairs, white beams all blended with a wooded decor.* Good food. See my explanation above.* Reasonable prices.* Beautiful views of the river and the flats.* Perfect place to take the significant other for a date night.* Pet friendly. I had seen several doggy bowls inside on the floors.* Outdoor patio looks amazing.* Location. There are not any mistakes by the lake here.Cons:* Later in the evenings, it can get super busy. We went around 5pm and it was not too busy, but around 6:30ish, things ramped up a lot.* The floors can be slippery so exercise caution when walking. It is a river front property with a lot of humidity. Cool air inside meets hot air outside and science happens on the wooden floors.
Fantastic! The biscuits were heaven. The cod was fresh. Shrimp and grits was light and healthy. Firecracker shrimp has lots of flavor. Didn’t dare look at the bill. My bf said he just going to hand over his card cause he know it’s high but was worth it. Coming back next time I come to Cleveland. They have a patio can’t wait to see it in the summer.
Lindeys Lake House is a great place to go eat, located right in the flats with a large outdoor seating space over looking the river. They are dog friendly and keep treats and water bowls on hand! Food it a little pricey but seafood is always fresh and delicious.
Great location on the river, nice indoor and outdoor seating. Went with another couple, all the meals were delicious except the Nashville hot chicken, that was a little disappointing, it was a smaller piece of chicken and didnt live up to the Nashville hot. The only other thing that was unexpected is the walleye was more like a walleye stew, it came in a bowl with onions and another vegetable in what seemed like broth. Service was fair if the waitress was more attentive we would have probably had another round of drinks. We will go back.
Came in starving from an all day convention- the meal/service/staff were exceptional!! I had lobster bisque and an organic fried chicken- the server was super patient with me (as I wanted to order the entire menu!!) and had great recommendations- it’s always nice when they’ve eaten the food/drank the drinks and have recommends and favorites- then I learned from the table next to me they had just opened! Kudos for a great opening week- appears everything is running smoothly!
Great views of the river but make a reservation or youll be sitting inside with no view. Food is good, fries could be crispier and the coleslaw could use some seasonings.
This is one of the best locations for a restaurant in Cleveland, but what a disastrous experience last Thursday night. For some reason, theyve decided a hip-hop deejay is the way to go Thurs.-Sunday nights, so there were time we literally couldnt hear the person across the table talking (despite sitting as far as possible from the deejay). Service was awful and the food was meh at best. We want to support local Cleveland restaurants, but we certainly wont return to Lindeys.
Its a bit too expensive for the quality presented. Calamari is over priced and extremely low quality, it was rubbery and had no taste. The fish n chips were okay Maybe they would taste a bit better if it was beer battered
The weather was rainy so I cannot comment on the outdoor area. The main renovations inside seem to have been changing the furniture and walling off a private area behind the fireplace. Overall the environment is laid back and casual. The wood burning fireplace gives a cozy vibe and the seating is very comfortable. The wait staff is young and friendly, our food arrived in a timely manner and everything was correct. The food overall is average. The menu moved away from al la cart taco options and you now have to pick a specific plater. It seems the change was made to allow prices to be increased from the very affordable menu costal taco offered. Its a bummer that prices have increased across the board, but they are still within reason and with such a great location you dont feel too bad about paying a bit more.
Tonight my partner and I went to have dinner and were extremely dissatisfied. The crab and Parmesan dip was the item we were most excited to try and it was a serving of dip that couldn’t have been most than 2/3 of a cup in size, and then with stale, overly fried tortillas. The hot chicken sandwich was served cut into fourths…the bun was twice as big as the chicken and the chicken itself was very overcooked and dry. The homemade pickles were very good though. And lastly the firecracker shrimp was described to us by the bartender as “more flavorful than actually spicy” and that was the furthest thing from the truth.. on top of the fact that the tempura coating was soggy because the shrimp were absolutely drenched in the sauce. So the texture was very soggy. The best part of the experience was the atmosphere, as well as the view of the water.
Couldn’t be more happy about this place. My boyfriend and I were able to have our mini doodle eat and drink with us without an issue (in the outdoor area)The service was AMAZING! The girls were so attentive and we never had to wait or even think about anything other than what to order on the incredible menu. The menu has something for everyone. If you want a burger, or if you want fresh perch (which is what I got and it was so delicious and fresh)The guacamole is probably the best I’ve ever had. And I love guacamole... and this beats chipotle 😂The manager was walking around the entire time we were there making sure everything was good and making sure we were happy. (That’s something you don’t witness anymore) it was pretty amazing the attention that we got. It felt really nice to actually be cared about. The margaritas were insanely delicious. The atmosphere was so welcoming and comfortable. It’s so hard to find a place like this. And it’s affordable!!!If you have a dog, they have an area in the front with a large jar of treats and water bowls! My little doodle loved it!!!This will be a hot spot for us this summer!
We had dinner here this past Saturday. The food was delicious and our waitress Calysta was absolutely a breath of fresh air! Best service I have received in years!
The place is beautiful with a great view. The service was good. The food is good quality with ZERO flavor, is expensive for what you eat, Cole slaw was disgusting, fish and chips bland and crab cakes mushy
The food was delicious, and the service was very slow. Dont go if youre in a hurry. It took forever to get our check. May be a staffing issue because businesses dont want to pay, and people dont want to work. I recommend the food only.
Jasmine was the kindest soul, she made my lil family and I so at home on Sunday when we visited. It means so much to me when people treat my daughter with kindness and she truly did. Lindy’s is so blessed to have such a sweet, hard working staff member :)
Had a really good dinner here, the views from the back patio are phenomenal. Service was good. Highly recommend.
Stopped in on a Sunday with my wife. Had some drinks and that delicious smash burger. The service I received from the gorgeous bartender Angelina was impeccable and her manager Dillon even gave me his own personal Cleveland browns coffee mug. It’s hard to find a restaurant these days where the service matches the food quality but this place is top notch, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cleveland.
Lindeys is a great place for good drinks and fresh food. The service is alright, but not stellar or noteworthy. The crab dip is super delicious, the battered fish is flaky and fresh and crisp, the slaw is tangy and crunchy, and the potato chips are seasoned heavily. The drinks are made great -- loved the Sour Sailor, best drink of my weekend!
The view and atmosphere is awesome. The food is decent. If it wasn’t for these things I would have rated our experience one star. The service was awful. A burned kids pizza (which felt more like a missed order entry) caused a large delay…which would have been absolutely fine sitting on the deck overseeing the water if we didn’t have empty glasses for 45 minutes. It look an excessive time to get the bill and the bill back to sign as well. With a little effort this experience could have been outstanding and an easy five stars. I’d definitely try it again with hopes it was just a underperforming server.
We went here for dinner on the 18th and it did not disappoint us! We had to wait about 30-45 minutes before being seated, but they have plenty of entertainment for us (connect 4, hook and ring, and cornhole) and we were able to get drinks while we waited. Our server was amazing!! Kali (I think that was her name) was super upbeat and recommended several things to get. Our drinks, food, desserts were all incredible. Each thing was delicious and you could tell that most of it was home-made (not frozen). Our server recommended that we try the brunch menu, which we did the next day. Again, did not disappoint. The drinks, hummus, and entrées were delicious. And again, home-made. We will be back again for more.
The food….As my tastebuds are back to about 80% I can’t let it hold back trying new things.Lindeys Lake House Flats Our server Solomon was solid and we would ask for him again.Food was a win. Jill’s Chilean Seabass had some of the best sauce. ( sesame spinach, sherry soy broth, side of sticky rice)My lobster roll looked good, was large. Good but the bun could have used a little more grill time. Was like pound cake. The spicy Asian shrimp were a hit , the fries are a hit, Jill loved her lobster bisque. The asparagus was good with crispy prosciutto and almonds.Jill had their “Lakebreeze “ as a drinkAbsolut Grapefruit, Lemon Juice, Cranberry Juice, Pope’s Blueberry LemonLook Forward to going back and diving deeper into their menu and sitting on the patio when it’s warm.
I felt like I was on vaca with the motif. Caesar salad quality. Classic breakfast had best biscuits I’ve ever had. Chx waffles also flavorful and genuine.
We went to Lindeys on a Wednesday in the late afternoon. There was no waiting because the place was pretty empty. The drinks & food were on the high side, especially considering the portions. The food was very tasty and enjoyable.I enjoyed not being at all rushed during our time there, but our server was a bit more hands-off than even I like. Twice I looked to place another order or get my check, and I could not get to her for over 15 minutes.
Fish/chips was a little soggy, Cole slaw was really good, and my blackberry bramble drink was delicious !Great atmosphere and location. I would go back!
The main protein in all of our dishes were great. However, french fries are bland, cole slaw was ok. Service was slow, took a long time to get our food. We went for family birthday and they brought dessert before our main dishes. Waitress said she asked for them to wait but seems like there was a mix up. Amazing outdoor view.
Great views right on the river. Service was poor due to short staff and uninformed servers. Ordered the salmon salad and it was terrific. Made up for the bad service.
Cool atmosphere, great food, and excellent service! We cam here on the recommendation of our hotel staff. They recommend the Lobster Roll, despite the previous review I went for it and it was amazing 5 stars!
Salmon salad is not a salad as indicated on the menu. Its salmon with side salad, like dinner. Fish and chips more like corn dog, with some cod. Service average. Unfortunately Alley Cat was closed, ended up here
Lindeys Lake House has a great ambiance for a summer well spent in downtown Cleveland. Lindeys sits off the Cuyahoga River where you can sit outside and watch the sunset, ships big and small pass by all while sipping on handcrafted cocktails. MUST TRY THE BISCUITS; few vegetarian options (of course wish there were more), the veggie burger was quite salty, hopefully I just got it on an off day.
My friends and I ordered food and waited for over 45 minutes. One of the servers came out and said our order was the next ticket. Then they came up to us and said they were out of buns for the sandwiches and said our food would be on the house because of the wait. We never got our food and only our appetizer was on the house. Very disappointed in this place!
Gorgeous restaurant. Warm and inviting. Wait staff was goodShe brought me my wine and said cheers.Food was a wow factor!Excellent birthday for me!This was an amazing restaurant.
The food, the drink variety, the wait staff and the view were all perfect! My walleye dinner was delicious! All 6 of us enjoyed our meals and our waitress was great!
Very good food. U get a good portion. Outside dinning beautifully done. Great drinks. Bartender he was great at pick nice drinks even tho I did not know what I wanted. Waitress she was amazing. Did not get the names. To busy visiting with family & friends. I know if I see them again. Enjoyable time.
Not impressed by this place at all. Tried it out before and wasnt sure. Went again with my family to see if it was any better. NOPE!!! High priced food that has no flavor! The best thing about our dining experience was the HUGE freightliner ship that passed by. So exciting!!! Wont be back here anytime soon.
This was my third and final time dining at this establishment. The wait time is nearly an hour for food each time I have been there. The manager gives the same speech and doesnt seem to care about the experience of the customer.
The seafood was delicious. The fries were a little bit overcooked. Our waitress was very nice and attentive.
So my fiancé and I really wanted to get some dinner and sit outside, so we decided to drive to the flats. We couldn’t decide on where to eat but neither of us have tried this place so we thought we would stop in. We ate out back on the patio. The setting was very nice beautiful views of the lake. Our waiter Rosalee was so sweet and kind. The food was excellent we got, A crab cake, tacos and firecracker shrimp for an appetizer and for the entree I got fish and chips. We also ordered two drinks and a meal to go all for under $100. I was very pleased with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. AND THE DRINKS!!! Man they were excellent I only needed one cocktail before my food. the following pics are the drinks we were so hungry by the time I thought of picturing the food it was all gone!! The wait was a little long but being COVID season 😒 and everyone wants to sit outside I had no problems waiting while we walked the boardwalk. Highly recommend if you are looking for good fresh food good service and great atmosphere right in the flats. Great place for a outside casual dinner date with your other and extremely reasonable price and good portions.
The river as a backdrop was pleasant.. food was salty tho had to send Lobster roll back.. Fish and Chips are always delicious.. server was perfect
I dont enjoy giving low ratings but sometimes I truly believe its necessary.Went to Lindseys for dinner with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary and left frustrated with the lack of service and low quality of the food.Let me start by saying we didnt receive our utensils nor napkins till after about 10 minutes after receiving our entrees, which means we had to eat our appetizers with our fingers, no small plates for splitting portions onto them and just literally licking our fingertips clean as we went. Awesome!Anyways, my wife and I had a guacamole and the biscuits apps. The guac lacked flavor. It didnt taste fresh and was missing salt, cilantro and lime. So in essence we were eating avocado, tomatoes and some pepitas. The biscuits were delicious. Unfortunately, as stated above, we didnt have any utensils nor napkins so we had to try and separate the biscuits, which come bunched up in a hot iron pan, with our fingers. Fun! Primitive dining. We then got our entrees, my wife ordered the lobsters roll and I had the ribs. As you can see by the pictures, I only ate about 3 of the bones because the ribs were covered, smothered, with cheap tasting BBQ sauce that completely overpowered them and made the dinner completely uneatable.Even my wife, who knows I like bbq sauce, said, They really drenched those in sauce. Did they empty the whole bottle on them? I bet you cant even taste the meat. And she was right, it felt like it was a joke.Going back to the lack of napkins and utensils, after sitting with the entrees on the table for about 10 minutes and not seeing our waitress, I got up and walked around to the ordering station where a manager (?) was standing and told him we had been waiting for our utensils and could he please get some for us.At that point the waitress walked up to the table with them and I went back to eat. Nobody came to the table to apologize for the issues. Nobody came to the table to ask how our food was. Nobody came to the table, after I told the waitress the ribs were ruined by the amount of sauce on them and to please take them away along with my wifes finished food, to see if there was anything they could do to make the dinner better. Nothing. They dont care. Thats the only thing that comes to mind. They are too busy making money off people who just want to go there because of the views that the actual service and caring of the people is lost. Thats the only thing I can come up with.We paid. Left a good tip (Yup, because karma) and left. Never again. One last thing, and this may make me sound like an a$$hole and I totally get it if people dont like my comment but seriously, its extremely unappetizing for the food runner to be missing almost all of her front teeth. Sorry, I understand this is a rude comment and I also understand the cost of dental health is insanely expensive, but you have to see it, literally, from the diners point of view. Its not appealing. Its not welcoming. Specially right before youre going to start eating.Like I said, never again. Two Stars because the biscuits were phenomenal and the receptionist was extremely nice and attentive.
The only disappointment was that the wait for outdoor seating was long so we couldn’t enjoy the view. However, the service was great and the food was good.
Was craving a lobster roll and decided to try it. Worst lobster roll. Lobster meat was terrible. Didn’t even think you could mess up a lobster roll. I also got the calamari and that was terrible too. It was so sugary and oily. Service was great and atmosphere was nice.
Love this place! Our waitress this afternoon was great! She was friendly, accommodating, and thoughtful. The food was delicious too!!
Dont try to go an hour before their posted close time. We tried to go at 6:45pm (they close at 8pm). After standing at host station with 4 other groups in front of us for 15mins with about a dozen workers walking by & looking in our direction someone finally stopped to tell everyone in line that they decided they dont want to seat anyone else since they close in an hour.
Best fish and chips Ive had in a long time. The clam chowder was excellent and the view and setting were beautiful.
The atmosphere and food were spectacular! However, for being a Monday and not crowded at all, the service was so so...I realize its VERY hard to find good help but when Im dropping a hundy on one alcoholic beverage, an appetizer, salad, one entree (we split) and a kids meal, it wouldve been nice if our server would have checked on table before we were done eating!. All in all its definitely worth visiting and well go again, however many people that frequent such places expect (and are paying for, Lol) great service and would likely be disappointed if thats a deal breaker for them?
Inexperienced hostesses, lies about wait times and gives away tables based on preference. Find a different place to dine if you have members of your group with special needs, they were inconsiderate and rude here.
This review is an expression of strong dissatisfaction towards the managers poor customer service. Despite the simplicity of creating a grilled cheese sandwich, my sons request was bluntly denied. We expect a certain level of flexibility and consideration when dining in a reputable establishment. The stonewalling was uncalled for, demonstrating a clear lack of empathy for a little boys simple preference. This experience cast a negative shadow over our visit and ruined our meal. Such unaccommodating staff takes away from the enjoyable dining experience one would expect.
Formerly known as Coastal Tacos, the owners changed the name and upped their food game! The food is delicious and the service level is MUCH better than it used to be. Matt & Mina were fun & attentive and provided exceptional service 😃👍 The hubby & I had the chicken tinga tacos and the beer battered fish - both were great! Awesome place to sit on the patio, enjoying food, drinks, and the breeze off the lake, while soaking up the sun rays 🌞🌞
Lindey’s has the most beautiful scenery however customer service was absolutely horrible. The tall caucasian male at the bar was totally dismissive to myself and a few others. The black guy with the beard finally assist us without hesitation. A few of us were visiting from out of state and we were appalled of the nonexistent service. The lobster roll I ordered was sitting at the counter for 20 minutes before I explained for the third time I ordered take out. However the flavor was ok but for the price wasn’t worth my time or drive. Never again
Exceptional service. Thanks Anna!! We joined friends during a recent visit to Cleveland and had a wonderful gathering at The Lakehouse. Highly, highly recommend.
Spent Wednesday evening in a private room celebrating a family members accomplishment of publishing a book. Couldn’t of asked for better service, space, atmosphere, and most of all food. The food was hot and delicious. Served all at the same time. Our two servers could not have been more attentive giving five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lindeys Lake House has gorgeous views of the river. The food is also very good. We had the burger and fries, side salad, and shrimp and grits. All were delicious. The burger is smashed so its two thin patties. The meat is good quality and the vegetables served with it were fresh. The fries are crispy and not greasy. The service was nice and the food came quickly and was hot. I will be back to Lindeys Lakehouse the next time Im in Cleveland.
Great views and atmosphere. Food was good not excellent but definitely will eat here again. The couple beside us raved about the Crab Cakes. Fries were great fish was good. Shrimp was also good. Little pricey. Miller Lite at $5 a can is a bit too much. All and all definitely recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed! Parking is a little scarce I would recommend look around and avoid the $10 parking area. Also a couple police officers in the area actually getting meals and if police office eat here you know it’s good:)
Beautiful view and some really good food. We will definitely be back to sit outside when the weather gets nicer!
The atmosphere was cool.. especially in the summer. The food was ok. Nothing special.
Really nice patio right on the lake. Good food and drinks. Will likely be going back soon.
We’re total(ly) in awe. Stunning views of the total solar #eclipse as seen from #Cleveland. Great food, service and the BEST view. 🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕
Have always heard great things about this restaurant but never got the chance to go. Came here this past weekend for a friends bachelorette lunch. The food was excellent. Everything is fairly priced. Drinks are great too! One thing I wanted to point out was our server, Jay. She was INCREDIBLE! Super friendly, attentive, handled a big party like it was no problem. Only negative was the wait time and the hostesses seeming annoyed with us.
Fast service, great servers! Celebrating a birthday they brought us a free sundae …My salmon was under cooked. Tried a new cold rice dish that was different but actually really good. But the drinks were good. The popcorn shrimp n sauce was delicious
Biscuits were incredible, service was good. But $8 for a 16oz Labatt and potentially the worst grits Ive ever tasted will not bring me back
Portions are small;ex: the Rib-eye cost can be compared to Hyde Park, but not the size, and the roasted chicken entree came with 1 small breast and a spoonful of the side dish - not ok, definitely a childs portion. it also could have been cleaner. There is a 1 check per table of 7 or more rule that is not boldly advertised or visible, but they do allow the hassle of multiple payers per check. 4 cards were collected but only 2 were charged b/c the server misplaced the final signed receipts after we had gone. This resulted in a huge banking issue which took over a week to resolve and we were ultimately reimbursed for the entire meal. I will say, management (Sarah) worked with us tirelessly to fix the error and for that we are appreciative.
I could get over the bad food for a nice atmosphere, but making us wait over 30 minutes for a waitress to come to our table and then for that waitress to be rude and extremely slow the whole time pushed me to post this review.
Incredibly rude service. Sat at a table the hosts let us sit at, a waitress brought us back to be resat since “only 8 people can sit at this table”, at which point the hosts promptly resat us at the exact same table. Went to order a drink for happy hour, but apparently happy hour only applies to the bar, which I have never heard of in my life. First time there and was excited to go, but completely ruined my impression as soon as I spoke to a non-bartender. Never going back.
Food was good, service great. The view is very nice
Awsome place nice vibe very good service food on point awsome deck with incredible view the cod fish sandwich was sooo fresh and good
Terrible service and an excessive wait. our table was given away to the wrong party and the food was overpriced and not good.stay away!!!!
If I could give a 4.5 I would but I’ll round up. Has the decor of a lake house. Summer would be better but I won’t fault them for weather. The Coastal Paloma is good. Lunazul Reposado take of a margarita with grapefruit, lime, agave with a pink pepper-corn salt rim. Semi upscale with minimal bussing of the tables or bar. Maybe a Covid staffing issue. I do like the Rock music that I would want from Cleveland. Back to summer. I bet this place is awesome on the river with the garage doors open.
Fun place. Good food and quick service.patio dining is great.
Really wanted to like this place because the view is AMAZING. Food was tasteless. You would think if you paying 20 dollars for a burger it would have to be good. Had a flat bread appetizer which was 16 dollars and ordered pizza from a kids menu for our son. It came as the same style and size flat bread we had but was 5.95. Please specify on the menu that it’s not actual pizza but a thin crunchy flatbread because our son couldn’t eat it. My fish sandwich was completely tasteless. The best thing was the view.
The cod sandwich was good and has a slice of American cheese melted on it. View of the river is great.
It was our first time heading out for date night since my wife had our daughter and we had a fantastic time! I got the lobster roll and my wife got the ribeye. The food was great, but the service was exceptional! Our server was Alyssa. Such a sweetheart! Because of her, we will be returning soon!!
The food is delicious and made with fresh, local ingredients. The service is excellent and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, yet sophisticated. The views of the Cuyahoga River are stunning. The restaurant is a great place for a special occasion or a casual meal with friends. If youre looking for a great dining experience in Cleveland, I highly recommend Lindeys Lake House Flats
There is nothing more comfortable than a Lake House, lake house colors and lake house decor. Staff was welcoming and Cee Cee was awesome. I ordered cedar plank salmon and my wife ordered the cod sandwich. Both were delicious. The Strawberry Agave Mule was plentiful and the Key Lime Pie was just like Grandmas. Grandma lived in the Florida Keys. Is it obvious yet that we enjoyed our experience?
15 minutes is to long for service to even ask what we wanted to drink...lousy service. Easier to walk out and find a restaurant with good service
Lindey’s smash burger saved my life tonight. I hadn’t eaten all day so I stopped in for some carry out. My fries were hot, my burger was HUGE and juicy. Such a great way to end my day!!! Much appreciated.
This past Sunday, 9/4, my family and I came in for the first time. Since we’ve never been before, we had a lot of questions about the menu and asked about different cocktails. Cam was very patient, thorough with explaining the different dishes and the sides included while making many other recommendations. She was very attentive and anticipated our needs by bringing extra napkins as well as refills before we even realized we needed them. Everything went perfectly from our delicious meal and drinks, to Cam prebussing our table so it wasn’t cluttered. As a fellow waitress, I was very impressed with every step of service she hit effortlessly. We are very happy with our experience and will definitely be back in the near future to see our new favorite waitress!
After a game of Cornhole we were seated. Ordered vodka lemonades which were excellent. Solomon waited on us and delivered the very best service with great recommendations for eats. Chicken and shrimp tacos were fabulous. Great time friendly folks.
Great atmosphere and location. Service is quick and friendly. Food and drinks were below subpar. Ale Battered Fish was crispy and looked appetizing, but was really dry and had no flavor. Nashville Chicken and the chicken my daughter got were both dry. Sides and coleslaw was even worse. Not worth its value.
Wait was a bit much but the bartender/server apologized and we was good! Excellent margaritas! The biscuits were to die for and the bbq chicken pizza was amazing! Great staff! The lobster role was unimpressive and bland! The lobster was rubbery and very large pieces. And then the kicker…..bag chips. The menu did not specify but I assumed at a place like this, the lobster would have been better and the chips would have been hand made! The were pitiful and smelly! Not sure if we will try again but the view was lovely but man does our lake stink sometimes lol
We love the smash burgers and always get them but this time I got the chopped salad with Salmon. Outstanding! Ate the leftovers (there was alot) this morning. Absolutely scrumptious and the service was very good even though they were BUSY. Its always a festive time there. Oh, and the bisquits (not really a bisquit gal) are phenomenal!
The food was subpar for the price. The clam chowder was unbelievably peppery and luke warm. The burger was over cooked and poorly seasoned. The other food we received was just okay. Tom S gave us the worst service Ive had in a very long time. If he spent half as much time doing his job as he did talking with the female employees behind the bar, hed be employee of the month.
