Franks Fish Shack

We visited on a super windy day so we didn’t get to utilize the any of the picnic tables set up. But, the atmosphere was super cute. Service was excellent and the food was tasty.

The people were so friendly and the food was amazing! I had the catfish and shrimp. I would definitely recommend the fried cherry pie! This place is an absolute MUST! You wont be disappointed! I will be back for sure!

We went to our favorite place at Springfield Bass Pro shop. Hemingways..... We have always went there for catfish and seafood. Well we went yesterday for the first time since w have been to Franks Fish shack. And it does not compare the Franks. My husband and I sat there at the table discussing how Franks was leaps and bounds better than our go to place for the last 10 years ..... Franks is our new go to spot. If you want good fresh food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service, and did I say great food....... Go try Franks Fish Shack!!!!!! Blowing everyone out of the water!!!!!!

Today was our first experience at Franks. First off my wife and I agree that the food is seriously of gourmet quality.Catfish nuggets were perfect, the hush puppies were seasoned beyond expectations, as well as being pleasantly moist. The fries were great as well as the three salads we got. We cant agree on which salad is the best.Then there were the desserts! The fresh strawberry hand pies tasted like fresh out of the garden. The cap on the meal was the turtle cheesecake. OMG! It was light, fluffy, moist, and absolutely delicious. If you havent gone to Franks you need to, just for an opportunity of self indulgence.

Very pricey for the catfish we got. Not filets but small pieces full of dark meat that tastes very muddy. The shrimp was delicious and the fried are good but not enough to make up for the catfish and the price. Had heard great things but was definitely disappointed!

Great roadside dinner. The food was fresh & made quickly. It was flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend 👌

Great family experience and food. Our son and daughter-in-law introduced us to Franks some time back and whenever we come to visit, we go to Franks. Yesterday was no exception.

Live in the KCMO area and camp at Sparrowfoot(Clinton)...About an hour ish drive...Went for a drive to explore the small towns in the area and stumbled upon Franks, that was Sept 2023. The owner is amazing, super kind, and explained a little about the menu options. Husband got the fish and fries. I got the fish tacos... OMGOODNESS!! DELICIOUS!!! Since that visit, camping trips are planned with a visit to Franks. We have also made a few day trips down just for lunch.Today (3/16/24) was a day trip for Franks to try the Gator. Husband had fish n shrimp combo with Gator appetizer, and I had Gator tacos.It was all delicious as always.I would recommend Franks Fish Shack to anyone who likes food!Great people! Great service! Amazing food! And 100% agree with them ... There IS only 1 FRANKS so come hungry leave happy!And to us, it is #1!!!So glad we found them!!!

We ordered a catfish plate, a shrimp plate, gumbo, and 2 cherry pies. First off the fries were way above regular old fries, even the hush puppies were really flavorful and usually they are just an afterthought. The portions were more than what you’d ever hope for and the sides were delicious too. We had potato salad and baked beans, sooo good. Second, the GUMBO HO LEE SH#+, freaking amazing and 100% the best I’ve had since we moved here from Louisiana. We have spent way more on half the amount and no where near as good. I can’t recommend enough, everyone needs to try!!! You can taste the love in the food and we’re so glad we now have a spot when we want some down home southern flavors.

The food was great! The owners are very friendly! We stumbled upon this place but Ill definitely be making another trip back. We had catfish, shrimp, coleslaw, fries, and sweet tea. It was all fresh and amazing

We stopped to get 2 catfish dinners to go on the way home. Service was friendly and food was delicious. We dont eat out very often but Franks is going into the rotation.

Was not impressed, overpriced, bland food. Catfish was tasteless, fries were soggy. Was expecting more.

Oh, how fabulous! Their ham, beans, greens, and cornbread divine! Owners are so kind and nice! Highly recommend! Taking 5 friends back with me tomorrow! Great atmosphere!

Great food and great people! The shrimp and catfish was delicious. Cant wait to try the fish tacos with that special sauce and super excited to try breakfast. The breakfast menu sounded awesome!

We had catfish and shrimp which were very good...the fries were nothing special as they were frozen crinkle cuts and we looked at each other in awe as we took out the optional Cole slaw as there was only about 1 tsp in each cup (not exaggerating) but it was very good. .lady at the window very nice and its a wonderful open area and hope they do well...

Food was pretty good. Service was great for the establishment that it was. While it is at a fixed location its more or less a food truck. My order was taken and served correctly. The atmosphere was nice it had picnic tables you could sit and eat at if you didnt want to eat it elsewhere.

Wish I could give more stars. Food was very Delicious, owners very nice, price was very good. All the way around perfect lunch today and highly recommend and ready to try more of their delicious food. Also cant wait to see this place grow which I definitely see coming in the future! 😊

My only complaint is that they are only open Fri & Sat. Food is fresh and piping hot. Great place!

Oh man, the food is so good you will dream about it! I highly recommend the catfish and the red beans and rice. Honestly you can’t go wrong! And the owners are great!

Their food is so good!! I recommend them to friends and family all the time. Hope they are around for a long time. You can order ahead of time and pick it up or have it delivered.

Just had the fish and shrimp combo with a little spice and Ohhhh Emmmm Geeeee! So VERY Tasty! Everything was wonderful. We even loved the fries. Only thing missing was some hush puppies. But maybe next time.YES, there will definitely be a next time!So sorry the weather was a mess for y’all, but it sure wasn’t stopping anyone from coming out to see ya!Great job!

Great food - great folks! Fish tacos were wonderful! ...and a bald eagle flew around their nice lake while I was eating at the picnic tables 😎 Will be telling others and Ill be back!

Our new Truman Lake go-to for breakfast and lunch! We stopped in for breakfast this morning after eating dinner there for the first time three weeks ago. We had the “over the top” biscuit and a Franks griddle - it did not disappoint.

Awesome experience! Last-minute order but had it ready before I got there. Shared with friends and family and got rave reviews. We will be back - Often !!

The catfish is excellent. We had the catfish dinner, fries, coleslaw and hush puppies which were very good too. It was very nice meal, we’ll definitely go back.

Expensive for fried food from a bag thrown in a fryer. Wont go back.

Had ours to go. Great food and a lot of it! Coleslaw was good, too! Made a couple of meals out of our order! Will definitely go back!

Wonderful seafood. Taste so fresh and light. Limited menu but that doesn’t take away from the delicious food and relaxing atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place.
