Hurricane Harrys

Only real country western dance hall left in town. I’ve been going here for over a decade now. Great drink specials, and the bottom dance floor is large with a smooth surface. If you’re looking for a good night out, then I recommend this. Thursday and Saturday are the typical dancing crowd, with Fridays having concerts. Top dance floor is a solid hang out spot where the music isn’t as loud so you’re able to have an easier conversation and hang out.

Its a fantastic place to go 2 stepping and line dancing. Their music selection is pretty good. At some time between 11:30 & 12:00 they start alternating between clubbing music and country music, which is fine if youre into that kinda thing. I find its best to go with a group, but if you go on your own, theres always the ability to ask someone to dance. The $10 cover charge for those 18-21 starts to add up, if you go consistently, over 21 its $3 on Friday and Saturday, free on Thursday. Or free on Thursday Friday with an Aggie ring. I do wish that there was some sort of discount program for people who go consistently, but other than that there isnt too much to complain about.

Nice country club with live music and djs at time. Mostly country music but drinks are good and reasonable prices. Bathrooms are pretty decent. You pay a cover if under 21 only. If you enjoy doing 2 step or line dances then come here. Nice for college students and locals. If passing by and you like a place with nice people then try here. ENJOY!

Used to give this place 5 star reviews. DJ needs to not be doing a hip hop hour at a Texas country dance hall. DJ shouldn’t get defensive when questioned about it by paid customers. Especially right after a George Strait concert.There’s plenty of bars for hip hop on NorthGate.If the owner properly corrects the DJ, this review will be deleted, and this will become a 5 star review

Great place to relax and dance your feet off. 2 huge dance floors and lots of pool tables.

I cannot believe that Harrys is getting closed in a year. This is the place to go two stepping, country dancing, play some pool, and overall have fun. Theres always plenty of parking which is a rarity in Northgate. Thursdays are free for +21, and Saturday is a free for Aggie rings until 11:00.

Would be better if they would play a variety of music instead of all fast catering to the Aggie wranglers! There is a different dj every night and there are multiple people hanging out in the dj booth telling the dj what they want to hear and it all gets played

This place is HUGE!! Getting in with tickets on our phone was super easy, beer prices were good, excellent & efficient bar staff, parking lot free w/plenty of parking. We enjoyed Joshua Ray Walkers performance so much!!!

I have heard many good things about hurricane Harrys, so I decided to give it a shot.The place is cozy, has 2 decent sized dance floors, and other than the bathrooms and the dust covering the ceiling, has a pretty charming down home country feel to it.Edit: I went back for Mike Ryans concert. It was packed, and many of the people were standing on the dance floor. Very few people danced, but the music was great and the atmosphere was friendly!

Best place to go in cstat, shame it might be closing, free to get in without a cover (usually $10) after 1:30am and they only play slow songs to dance to after 1:30

Everyone in the cstat area needs to experience a night of two stepping at least once. Especially aggie students

Country Western dance bar. So much fun and reasonably priced drinks. There is an entry fee ($3 the Saturday we went). Lots of parking. Several levels, so probably not super wheelchair friendly, but Im not sure if they have accommodations.

Great drinks! A lot of fun! BUT be prepared to sweat! Hardly any of the fans work thus causing a moist environment on the dance floor! A young Aggieland crowd and a lot of dancing! Got three starts only for how hot it was inside.

Its a fun bar geared for the college just down the street. Big dance floor. Good venue for live music. Can be tough to get a spot to sit.

I usually hate country, but I went here for Aaron Watsons show and I must say the venue was perfect. Bar had reasonably priced drinks and the bartenders were awesome. I would definitively go to another concert here.

I heard about this place from my daughter and never in a millions years did I ever think I would have came and had so much fun!! Everyone was so fun!! I had a blast hanging out with my new Quad Moms. My beautiful cadet even showed me how to two step! I will be ready because next I will have a pair of boots.

Absolutely love this dance hall/bar! They are 18+ and they have two or three big dance floors! They also host many concerts as well! Love the atmosphere of the place as well! Happy dancing!

Great ambience on a Thursday night if you want to learn and do two step dance. The staffs are really nice. The only thing it was missing was that there was no food. I think this is the only drawback for this place. Otherwise its an authentic texan place you want to be in when you want to go for a party.

Local bar and dance hall, really loved going! Never had a drink there, but the music is always a lot of fun to dance to. Overall very friendly and fun. Some nights ladies can get in free, some night if you have an aggie ring you get in free, and some if you go during the first hour you get in free. Always check the website to see what nights those are. There are a lot of neat traditions here, like playing the Aggie War Hymn and Copperhead Road.

LOVED our bartender. She was awesome at the back bar. Music was top notch!! Bathroom was not good though. Needs work for sure. But, loved the place in general. Not a bad seat in the house.

I went here when it first opened, and just recently saw a concert there. Very big inside. A little on the pricey side, but had a great bartender that always remembered my name for the tab and what I was drinking. Would be better if my tab was good at all the bars. Had a great time.

My boyfriend and I go to Harrys every Thursday evening to go dancing. We met there about 6 months ago and go weekly for our date night. It is such a great place to do dancing and enjoy good music with good people. If you dont know how to dance, thats okay, you can still have a good time enjoying the atmosphere and people watching!

Always love this place. Good music (country and some hiphop/dance music later in the night). Two dance floors to pick from and plenty of bars so service doesnt take long. Good prices and great concerts come through.

Great music to dance to by a DJ & reasonably priced drinks. Compared to other dance halls I’ve been to, the bathrooms could be updated and/or maybe made cleaner. It was a fun time otherwise and will be back!

100% best dance hall in texas, it always has a lively atmosphere and the staff behind the bar know what they are doing the only issue I have ever had was my white shirt got stained a little but hey thats life

This is a great place to go out and dance with some friends. They have 2 dance floors that is pretty good size compared to some places I have gone in the past. They play good music hosted by a local country radio station, and the majority of the songs are really good to dance to.The majority of the people that go the Harrys are college students, being its right down the street from the A&M campus. It has a really good environment, and is a great place to just go and have some fun. They offer a lot of different deals depending on the day. From what I remember there are sone nights that you can get in for free if you have your Aggie ring.I only had one weird/negative experience where they charged me for water, where is is normally free. Im not quite sure what the deal was, but it only happened once. Other than that I dont have any complaints about this dance hall, and I had fun everytime I went.

Lively place packed with mostly A&M students on weekend nights. Two dancefloor, one is tends to be crowded with faster pace and more singles, the other is a bit slower with mainly couples. Several pool tables.

Very fun, but I did not appreciate the pop/rap typical club music starting around 11:15 pm. I came here to dance to country western, not twerk. Also, they need more dance floor space.

I just transferred from SFA to Texas A&M and I must say, this is by far the greatest dance hall and the most fun I have had in college! The vibe and music was solid all night! I can’t wait to watch a concert here!

I just get to meet so many cool people and have good time. The dancing music has a certain positive vibe with two dance floors to go around. All girls who come here are really friendly. I like being a party of this hurricane experience.

It’s a really fun place and it has two dance floors which is really nice but the staff kinda rude lol. I read the stamp wrong and got called illiterate and I thought they were joking but I was the only one laughing😭 let me tell ya girl I did not know what to say😀👍🏼

If you go regularly the music can get a bit stale, but this is by far the best western dancing in the BCS area, from polka to waltz you can walk in and see a little bit of everything. Thursdays and Saturdays are the days to be there, but Friday night concerts are also some of the best Ive been to.

Use to go here every week when I was in school, was always a good time. Take some friends with you and youre guaranteed to have a ball. If you dont know how to two-step, someone there will gladly show you. Beer prices arent too bad either.

Was there for a work trip event. Its a typical college town bar. I like that its big and spacious. Great staff. Just not my type of hang out spots these days. (Says the lady that is 10 years out of college!) 😂

Our favorite local dance hall, although its really the only country dance hall since the Hall of Fame closed (RIP)! Music is great most of the time, but the DJ seems to never be in the booth and has a playlist set on repeat. At that rate Im not sure why they dont just play a Spotify channel and save the money...Were regulars, have been for years and Phillip is the best bartender around! It gets pretty packed after 11 so get there early if you want some dancing room! As long as its open, well keep coming back.

College bar. They have bands play on most Friday nights. Plenty of parking.

Went to a concert here. I would for sure recommend anyone go see a concert here.I saw roger creager play, amd the show was amazing, however the music was over the top loud. I understand that a live concert is supposed to be loud, bit at times, the music seemed to drown out the words.Almost as if the music was bouncing off the walls. Great place to see a live show. Good atmosphere, and good prices for drinks.

Harrys is a really cool setup for seeing live country music. They have big name artists come play which boosts their brand. However, they have the worst employees of any bar in B/CS. have yet to meet one who didnt suck

Its a happening place bringing the famous country dancing here to Aggieland. Its fun to hangout and you have people who are passionate about dancing and also folks who love to chill.

I am posting on behalf of MY FRIEND- the most respectful, upright citizen the state of Texas has ever seen. The Texas QUEEN got kicked out of this place because the staff thought she was disrespectful. Now was she? I don’t know because I was line dancing but MY FRIEND does not deserve to be treated in such a disrespectful way. *mic drop* thank you and God bless Texas

This was my first time ever two stepping and I was surprised at how much fun I had. It may had more to do with the friends I was with, but the casual and exciting environment of Harrys was definitely a plus.

Drove here all the way from Houston to see if it lived up to the hype! Sure enough, it did. Will gladly make the drive again. Stayed almost until closing.

First and last time! I did NOT have any drinks before I walked in the door and the extremely over weight bouncer with glasses, side door 9/19/2015, said to me military and firefighter do the same thing. I told him I had multiple deployments since 2006. His response was as followed to get out of his face and then told my buddy to keep me under control and I need to watch myself.It takes a lot to upset or anger me but I am a disabled combat infantry veteran and I have lost numerous friends overseas and other causes from deployments. The way he conducted himself and the exchange of words that took place was awful! Businesses are reflections of the employees and how their employees conduct themselves.

WHAT A SHOW!!! Parker McCollum Hayden Baker ROCKED this place!!! Even the High School aged kids were having a blast! We drove two hours for this show and wed do it again tomorrow!

I go every Thursday and every Saturday. Great atmosphere, no smoking, good security staff. Ive had no problems in 5 years of coming here.

If you’re over 21 don’t pay to be here. If they want cover leave. There is better places

Its a popular place with a long waiting time. Tickets are not easily available. Didnt notice diversity among attendees. Parking is a huge plus.

The ladies seems to enjoy Harrys. If youre not an A++ two stepper, head elsewhere. The rhinestone cowboys are like buzzards here.

Great hole in the wall dance hall. They have summer concerts and its a great place for a good night on the town.

The only thing better about the trip was watching Alabama win if I could have only got the redheads phone number that used to bartend there oh yeah

I lived here in college. This place is amazing. Gets crowded after 1030 though, especially on game days.

Can get overly packed on big days but good music selection and fun Aggie proud environment makes this a perfect place for weekend entertainment
