I have been to get massages at different places for aches and pains. After twisting wring and getting a back spasm, I had someone suggest that I go to CIMT. It was a great suggestion. Jake, my masseur, really took time to understand where I needed the focus and how he could best work to alleviate the pain. He was very deliberate in how he proceeded, and the end result is that the pain is significantly less after he worked. Jake is amazing. His demeanor, knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, and how best to approach therapy are top-notch. Highly recommend for anyone to go, and if Jake is available, schedule time with him. You wont be disappointed.
I love this place so much. The school is top notch with the Neuromuscular Therapy certification. They create some good students!
While there are a few talented instructors at this institution, there have been significant changes since the recent transitions of ownership: namely, the appointment of a former bank manager, with no prior medical experience, to the position of assistant director. This change in leadership has shifted the focus of CIMT to that of revenue generation, in lieu of providing quality education to students. My experience at CIMT was deeply disappointing. The administrative staff treated my class like props rather than individuals with aspirations, and their motives felt ridiculously money-hungry, arrogant, and dystopian. This was evident throughout my program, and culminated in poor treatment from administration during graduation. Ultimately, I regret attending this school and urge anyone considering massage therapy education to look elsewhere. CIMT seems to have lost sight of its commitment to student well-being and quality education.
We’ve been there a few times now and have had great experiences. We even bought a membership! Thank you!
I’ve had an amazing experience here with each of my massages! 10/10 recommend!!
Highly recommend this place, Kathy Gonzalez did an excellent job at making me feel comfortable as a first timer and was very informative and patient for every question I had.
The best part of the experience going to school here is the amount of care and love the instructors and staff show. This was an amazing adventure and I couldnt thank them all enough!!! I learned so much and will continue to learn, their guidance and support will continue far beyond graduation, you become family, not just a student. Thank you again for everything ❤️
I recently attended a workshop and I must say, Im thrilled to begin on July11th. Marketing advisor Lauren and admissions advisor Laura were absolutely fantastic, paying great attention to detail. If you have any concerns, Laura is the go-to person who will provide excellent assistance regarding your start.
My experience with CIMT has been all around magnificent, and in many ways, life changing. I was in the cohort that graduated in Fall of 2021 and I have now been licensed and able to go self-employed because of CIMT’s superior training program and curriculum. One of the things I appreciated most as a student was how the staff immediately treated you with professionalism as if you were a colleague in training. Each instructor cares deeply about the practice of massage therapy, students enrolled, and clients who come into the lab and clinic. Their modules cover a wide variety of topics, and the program allows you to choose a number of elective credits so you can experience training in specific areas you gravitate towards. The hours are structured specifically to ensure you feel confident and empowered to step into the career immediately upon taking your MBLEx. This is the school you want to attend if you’d like to become a massage therapist.
Julie is the absolute most thoughtful, thorough, and sublime massage therapist I have ever crossed paths with. Her pressure is meticulous and she uses small movements under oscillating pressure to increase the threshold you can tolerate which lead me to massive releases. It’s truly astounding. I don’t know what to say other than, thank you, Julie.
Terrible experience at this facility. My wife and I decided upon this facility and called. The first individual was pleasant and took our CC information to hold the appointment and for prepayment. My wife and I go in for a massage. Sub Par at BEST. However, we understand individuals are learning so we wanted to give a generous tip. Here is where the issues began. They didnt have any way for us to provide electronic payment. The young lady had to carbon copy our CC to provide a tip. Finally I submit the tip and leave. Then I get phone calls starting the following Monday saying we had not made payment. When my schedule allowed I ensured to check my bank account to provide payment. Sure enough we had not been charged. I start trying to call their facility to provide payment, no answer whenever we call. Sometimes they call during one of my many work from home conference calls. Eventually my wife and I make payment several days after the first phone call and phone tag. Then today I get a first thing in The morning stating since we havent paid our bill we are being charged regardless. The inflection and tone of the individual was that making me seem a crook. So my wife and I were charged a second time. I call back to let the individual know and they have an attitude. The whole experience was extremely unprofessional. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. Why is it so hard sometimes to give someone my money?!?!?
Sadly, had been rather tough to get follow-up appointments. The instructors are professional with up to speed focus to new techniques. Vibrant, friendly, environment.Worth investing into.
Ive had some varied experiences at this place, including one massage therapist who left bruises because she digs in so deep (Cindy) and another who is undoubtedly the best massage therapist Ive ever been to in the US (Emily). So be specific about what you need before going in. And during your massage dont be afraid to ask for more or less pressure. Communication is the key to a great massage. Ive been to Emily multiple times and have always been very happy with the outcome. She listens, remembers and targets trouble spots I didnt even know I had. Get a membership here and plan on going regularly.
I went to school at CIMT 5 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did for myself! Even if I had never practiced massage since, the experience and education alone were worth it. Ive recently became an instructor here and its exciting to be a part of giving others the same wonderful experience I had. If anyone is considering massage school, look no further... you wont find a better education or better teachers who really care.
I was a student at CIMT. I found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable. The course work was challenging but it did prepare me not only for the Mblex test but for my career as well. I chose the 850 hour program and also received my neuromuscular certification which I use daily in my career. The extra certification has opened more doors for me in my career. I would recommend not only Colorado Springs to anyone who is not from here but the school to anyone who is looking at massage as a career. They do a great job helping the students, the class size is great for learning and the city is beautiful...
This place is fantastic! I posted a picture of the prices, but just incase you dont look...$25 for a student $35 for a graduated student and $45 for a professional per hour. Professionals can do a wider range of therapy for you including hot stone massage for a small fee. They do 2 hour massages as well. Whether your going just to relax or to help aide in recovery from a surgery or chronic issues, this place is awesome! Ive been to 9 Massage places, Including chains such as massage envy and green spa. Majority of the students have been great and some average, but once you remember that youre there for a fraction of the price and providing feedback so they can learn to improve its all good.
I am not sure where to even begin. I am currently a student who is 5 weeks away from graduation. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia while in school while also having ADHD. I had reached a point in my education where I didn’t think I would make it this far. In middle school and high school I finished with a 2.4 GPA. My grades currently across the board at this academically rigorous school are all A’s and B’s. This is because of the staffs willingness to work with people who learn differently and are facing life’s obstacles. The kind of education I have gained at this school hasn’t just been about how to be a good Neuromuscular and Massage Therapist. It’s taught me how to practice with compassion the same way every staff member has treated me with. I started writing this review thinking about who I would specifically thank at this school, yet every single person who works at CIMT has helped me grow. They have helped me build my confidence in my ability to learn and to achieve the goals I’ve set out to accomplish. They do not just see you as another number. They see you as a person. As long as you are willing to learn they will teach you, with patience and flexibility. I noticed some reviews talking about how they are focused on just getting money. My experience strongly says otherwise but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just know that I would be willing to spend more than I currently am to receive the kind of education I have here. I can’t speak for other Massage Therapy schools but I can say I have never had teachers like these ones. Their are such a diverse group of teachers here. None of them discriminate in any way, shape, or form. They truly care about your success so long as you are willing to do the work and communicate with them what you are struggling with.
I graduated CIMT in 2018 and my experience there was truly a life changing experience. I learned not only a vast amount of detailed medical based knowledge about the human body but I also learned how to be in tune and confident with myself! Graduating CIMT I felt as though I had big step up in the massage therapy world. I found that I knew more about anatomy and could find solutions to my clients needs easier then other LMTs they previously went too. Their teaching methods are detailed, thorough and have stayed with me. The staff there are understanding, welcoming and talented LMTs. Going there was the best decision and shaped me into who I am!
I attended school here and graduated with CNMT. It was one of the best moves I ever made for both my career and life. I have an extremely successful practice in Coronado, California that has been going strong for 6 years. I cannot say enough goods things about the education I received or the positive changes it made for my life.
What an excellent experience! You can choose a massage from a student or a professional. The prices are very reasonable. I go to Jody, a professional, and it is truly worthy of 5 stars. I have had hundreds of massages, in several different states, but none better than a Jody massage. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
Robin is outstanding in her work and very caring with each session. She keeps high standards for herself, and enjoys her customers. She always greets me with a smile and allows time for massage concerns, if I had a question. A outstanding place to be with Robin awesome massages!
I graduated from this school in October 2020. I was attending this school in the midst of covid happening and the staff still found a way to get us the best option for education during that time. You will get what you put into the program out of it. I feel very proud saying I am a CIMT graduate.
The massages here are a good value however good luck getting an appointment. This is my 3rd time making an appointment, putting it in my calendar and then showing up and them claiming I have no appointment and now a professional that cost double is available though but can only do it for a shorter amount of time than originally scheduled... very disappointing esp for those of us in daily pain that really look forward to some relief, how hard is it to use a scheduling system properly....
Extremely money hungry. Teachers act as if its a burden to tutor even though you as a student have to pay them. Every time you turn around they will charge you another fee for something as ridiculous as being sick and missing some pointless thing. Requirements are ridiculous for the education you get and pointless event are very miserable to attend. Teachers are extremely rude if your not understanding or their favorite.
I learned so much as a student at Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy! The instructors and administrators were very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in my success and a student and as a therapist.
I went to school here and I truelly enjoyed it! The staff is wonderful and the education is priceless! I have now run my own practice for 2 years! Proud graduate :)
Amazing school 27 years ago. Medical based approach has served me so well for all those years as a career.
Absolutely Phenomenal! Jessica did a fantastic job! I immediately felt more relaxed and rejuvenated! I highly recommend Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy!
For the price, you cant beat this place for a massage. I usually get the Intern level massage and it has always been great. You can also but a membership and get $10 off massages.
I started this school and attended under fifteen hours of schooling and was unable to continue due to a serious injury. Not only did the school demand thousands of dollars , but sent me to collections. They had no sympathy ,no concern for anything other than money. Im highly disappointed with this organization.
I graduated from here 3 years ago and have been practicing since. Great learning experience, great people, great educators, and great environment!
Taught me well and helped me grow in life as well as massage therapy
Ive had several terrific student treatments here. Friendly staff, skilled students, and great value!
Im new and they said I had to pay up front for a student massage that I booked for two weeks out. What?
One of best experiences I have had, really helped me to relax and feel free again.
Mykina was absolutely wonderful! I will definitely be going back!
Although this is a nice business for what they offer, the availability of staff is lacking, even IF you are preffered (yearly dues paying) member...
Great place for an inexpensive massage from a student, intern or professional.
Enjoyed my session. Very professional! Left relaxed.
You cant beat the price for the expertise you get. Laura C. has magic hands!
Great spot in Colorado Springs for massages.
Yuck. They are quite rude and arrogant.
Great massages and great prices!
Great clinic and instructors!
Very good for the price
