Great location ! The drinks are pricey but strongAlso it was very hot ( almost unbearable) both times I’ve been in the upstairs bar but it won’t stop me from coming back !

Went here with a group of friends last night and we had a great time but it was because of the company we were with. The DJ was not very good. We were there for about two hrs and he played 5 maybe 7 good songs. I remember this because my friends and I couldnt believe it so we started to counting. The bartender didnt listen to the way we wanted our drinks mixed. When she handed us our drinks they tasted horrible. We ordered a double shot of casamigos with pineapple juice and a hint of lime. The bartender just poured the tequila, almost no pineapple juice and totally forgot the lime. Some would say its a heavy pour but Ive had my share of heavy poured drinks and this was not it. Not sure if Im willing to go back. Proceed with caution. I will say they have a great mirror to take pictures at the top of the stairs

Spent $550 for a private table on New Years Eve and was seated right in front of the mens bathroom that did not have a working door. Got to watch every man go to the bathroom all night. Additionally there was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms. Unsurprisingly, I got incredibly sick the next day. Would not recommend going here as they do not prioritize the safety and health of their customers.

Drinks are expensive and extremely weak... Like even weak for a straight bar. Also no AC upstairs which is where the actual event I paid for was. Such a waste of 20 bucks cover

This place is great! Several dance floors including one upstairs outside. People generally seem to be there for a good time! Radio DJs have been there every time I have gone and I love them! Again, love the lights and music! Plus I love Irish pubs and such!

So so dead! Definitely not what it used to be like in previous summers. Slow vibes, people sit around on the ROOFTOP!?!? Dancing is a minimum now. Could still be a good spot if people actually show up and kick it and DANCE!!!!

Fun place to come. Bartenders are welcoming and the staff is always professional. Largest rooftop patio in Columbus! Great thing about this bar are the different atmosphere present. Downstairs is more relaxed feeling. Upstairs is dancing and outside patio is mix of both. Def recommend bringing your friends and yourself if you want to have a good time!

Went here for a work cocktail hour. Pretty basic for downtown Columbus. Was a bit disappointed in the quality of drinks and the decor of the place was old with no thought put into it. Good place to grab a reasonably priced drink but dont expect too much else. The bartender was very friendly, so that was a plus.

Overall had a good experience with the staff and venue. The only issue we had was with one of the hired police officers that worked the door. Most were cool, but we noticed unwarranted tension from a cops for no apparent reason. Not sure if one of the guys was having a bad day but keep getting mean stares and even seen him push one guy out the door for no reason and cursing him after. I don’t drink so I noticed these things more than others.

I love this nightclub! Great sound system. Prices are same as every where. Rooftop bar is covered and hreated for winter use. Great dance music. Sometimes have live performers down stairs check ahead of time. You can rent out any of the 3 bar zones for private parties.

Love having a night away! And Callahans has always been my first and only choice. The staff is always ready for anything! I always know I will always have a good time when i go. They also have so many bars to order drinks from not just one lol and enough room to be able to dance on either floor. Its the best hang out spot in Columbus

Just a little tip: do not support Callahans BarI was one of four performers present at the Zombie Madness event last Thursday. We were promised $75 each. Around midnight, we were told to call it a night since the turnout was weak. We were then given $40 to split amongst the four of us, and told that we would receive payment electronically the following day. It has been over a week now and none of us have received compensation for our work and have been given every excuse in the book. Hopefully this can be corrected.Along with this, one of the security guards continually hit on us. They didnt have a fenced off area or platform for the go go dancers, so I got to deal with a creepy patron getting in my face and trying to touch me while security did nothing. Also one of my teammates paid $7 for the tiniest and weakest vodka/water I had ever seen. I will not be back as a performer or a patron.

I love going to this bar. They have an excellent upstairs and patio as well with two dance floors. The service is always excellent and they keep the place clean and secure. Highly recommend going to this bar if youre in the area.

Went here for my bachelor party and ended up being kicked out because some girl bumped into my friend on the dance floor and then she pushed him. The bouncers immediately came over and started kicking him out. I tried to explain the incident and that my friend was innocent, but it was useless on the bouncer with an earpiece in. So all 12 of us left and wont be back.I understand the bar is busy and a place to go and that the bouncers deal with stupid situations all night, but it is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. And any type of disagreement with the staff will cause them to call the police and curse at you.Do not give this place your business.

Everyone in your party is allowed in as long as they dont have shorts on. They dont hold women to the same dress code as men. My friend was literally wearing the same outfit shorts and a t shirt. Its 85° F its hot. Ill never come back. Besides, its dead in here anyway. Good luck out there college kids. Open your eyes.

I went here for my best friend’s birthday and the drinks tasted water down with no alcohol in them. The pictures we saw online are not what we saw in person. I feel like I was catfished. This will be my first and last time here.

The rooftop patio here at Callahans is one of its most unique and fun features. However, on certain nights, it can get crowded to the point where its not even enjoyable up there. Overall the bar does it best to stay with the Irish theme but it leans more towards generic. If you like overpriced drinks and rowdy crowds, this a good stop for you.On a side note, of you rent out their VIP room, its a much better experience.

This has become a tradition of mine that I always go to Callahans on my birthday kind of sets you up for the rest of the night. PS dont be intimidated by the suits everyones welcome to come in and have a drink and have a good time!!

Worst experience ever! Short story: I was celebrating my birthday, bar-hopping in the Short North area, and walked in this bar around 1 a.m. with 7 friends: Law school students, ages between 25-30. Huge crowd inside, so the majority of us went ahead and walked all the way to the roof top to get some air. In the meantime, 3 of my friends stayed downstairs to get some drinks. After about 5 minutes I noticed that my friends had stayed behind, so I decided to go downstairs to get them, and tell them that we were upstairs. In my intent to reach my friends, I got stopped by one of the employees, before I could even take the stairs. He did not let me to go downstairs to get my friends, or would not even let me go downstairs for any reason.. Did not let me explain him anything, and then all of the sudden just demanded me to get out of the place, called the police, another security guy came (big male, like 7 inches taller than me), almost spitting on my face, demanding me to leave, without letting me say a word. I felt so insecure, assaulted and very scared that these guys could have just hit me or get violent with me in any moment. The police came and took me out. They would not let me go talk to my friends to tell them I was leaving, did not let me explain why I was going to go downstairs... it was AWFULL. This people have no notion of what RESPECT or customer service mean.I would never come back to this place again and will not recommend it AT ALL.

Callahans has a special place in my heart. This is where I met my husband and weve enjoyed many fun days/nights enjoying the rooftop patio bar, dance floor, and watching many sports events in the lower level bar.We also hosted our engagement party in the private pub room which had access to our own bathroom for our guests so as the night went on we could steer clear of the main crowd and enjoy our night with our friends and family. We had our own private bartender and the staff prepped great pizzas, dips, and snacks for our guests.When it came to finding a place to continue the party when our wedding rolled around, Callahans was also the top choice. For our after reception-reception the owner, Jeff, roped off our own area up on the roof top patio. Guests were able to use the side entrance and avoid the busy weekend lines at the main entrance and we were very well taken care of.Since then my friends and I have hosted many birthday parties, bachelorette parties, etc at Callahans and have never been disappointed.Obviously, on the weekends the bar is slammed. It has the best dance floor, an amazing view, and multiple bars to get a drink from. It goes without saying that if youre not looking for a crowded place with loud music on a Saturday night, then you may want to go somewhere else. There will be lines to get in, after all, theres a fire code they have to abide by, there will be a wait for a drink, but the bartenders are fast and experienced and will get to you as quickly as you can. There are beer tubs and shot bars located through out the space to hopefully cut down on those lines, so be on the lookout for those. And as for the comments on the bouncers, its their job to keep the patrons safe. If they think youre even remotely a threat to the well being of the establishment, then theyre going to take action. Theres no tolerance when it comes to those acting belligerent.All in all, Callahans is easily the best bar to visit in the Arena/Park St District. Its also a fabulous event space for parties, meetings, etc. Very much so recommend it!

Hit this place up on Saturday night. DJ was playing great music.Had a line to get to rooftop, but was asses to elbows out there.Dance floor was sticky and used plastic cups.

The bouncer blocked the fire exit. When I tried to leave, he smashed me in between the two doors. Im not sure why he attacked me but when I got outside and yelled at him for what he did, he tried to push me into the street. He was a large 65 man. I am a 32 year old 53 120lb female veteran who served three tours overseas. I tried to contact the establishment regarding what happened to me. Not a single response. My back has hurt ever since and been severely bruised. I filed charges against them. I would never go here again and hope they go out of business soon riddled with lawsuits. Yelp calls it the Worst bar ever to visit in Columbus. Unless youre into getting beat up by bouncers for no reason while police observe and do nothing, Id skip this bar/restaurant. Public announcement: The police outside are hired by Callahans. They are allowed to perform private security in uniform in accordance with the city. However, if these police are not helping you or wrong in the situations here, you need to call the actual police on duty. These men are not here to protect you. Theyre here to protect the bar.

Extremely disappointed with this bar and how they treated my fiance and I. We were simply getting our IDs out to show the 2 guys at the front on Saint Patricks Day and all of the sudden they say that my fiance was too drunk and couldnt come in. We were both extremely confused since the only thing we did was walk up and gave them our IDs. Also, should I mention that my fiance is a physician that just got off working a long stretch of 12 hour shifts and hadn’t even had a drink yet. He may have looked tired, but ive never heard of tired people not being allowed in bars. We were looking at Callahans as venue for one of our events, but we will be going with another venue due to the unprofessionalism of the staff. Its very sad that Callahans hires people that treat their customers this way. We will not be returning and will be taking our business elsewhere. Luckily, Bar Louie was right next door and all of our friends had a wonderful night there!

Perfect example of a terrible downtown bar. Overpriced drinks, bartenders who are dialing it in and have no problem charging you fit drinks you didnt order (customer is always wrong?). Security is is of course blowhard bullies with unfulfilled dreams of treating people terribly. There are too many good bars around here to waste your time with this cramped, bs experience.

This is a very bad bar. The bouncer denied my friend and I enter claiming we were too drunk. I was the DD and my friend had just came out of the bar to find me! What a joke! My friend was unable to close out his tab because of this. You can bet your hard earned money they charged a healthy tip for themselves... very bad business.

I am a regular on the weekends. My favorite bar to go to in Columbus by far. Love the atmosphere and great prices on the drinks. Always a good time and I get to see my best buddy Jon Shivner behind the bar!

We went for lunch on a Sunday and was told they didnt have any food because they dont have a cook. Lol! The staff were nice, thats why Ill give them 3 stars instead of 1 or 2.

We we to to Callahans for a podcast meetup during Originsa2018. Over crowded. Couldnt move. Not enough staff. When you could get to the bar they had a limited selection. Ran out of things. Ordering food was impossible. Its like these places dont believe that a podcast will fill the place and they staff and stock for a regular night. Was not fun at all. Didnt even get to meet and greet with the podcasters.

Drinks deals are amazing! The DJ’s bring the establishment up by a long shot. The staff are the most accommodating and attentive I have seen in the area. A must visit in Columbus, Ohio!

Haha I work here. Of course I will give it a good review. The owner is great, my manager is great. The bartenders that I talk to are great. Im the kitchen manager, try the pizza, I make the dough from scratch.

Enjoying a night out with the crew when one of my dumb friends decided to purposely disobey the orders of security by sitting on the edge of a table. Rather than grab my friend an ask him to leave he was pummeled an thrown around like a rag doll... Overly aggressive security an the short fat owner with glasses seemed to enjoy the show.. Wont go back, hope you go bankrupt smug midget

*Update: they wouldnt allow my friend in because he had shorts on. Then told my fiance who only had 3 drinks tonight that she was too drunk. Lets be real. It was because the bouncer was embarrassed and annoyed that we contested his subjective rule. I will never return and tell my friends the same.Nothing special. Thankful they didnt charge a cover on St. Pattys Day, but Irish Car Bombs were in plastic cups as well as everything else. Boo. Either buy more glassware or hire extra help to clean them. Nothing like paying $10 a drink to be served in a clear Dixie cup....

This flaming virgin bouncer claimed I was inebriated just because I forgot to get my ID ready in line. The only thing I had to drink that day was water! I think this place just likes to discriminate against adult ADD. Youll have a much better time at Novaks.

Went to Callahans. Bartender upstairs told me please wait 10 min and we will get your card run and after 30 min we inquired about our card and the system was down. After asking how I could get my card back, the bartender THREW the card and bill at me and we were asked to leave the bar. GREAT SERVICE. nd we were escorted out because the bar couldnt keep their tabs/customers straight. Would NOT advise anyone to go here. Disrespect is THE name of the game

Callahans is the classic college bar downtown bar scene. Though I prefer more intimate venues, the dancing is excellent and my girlfriends and I always have a great time on the rooftop!

Came in on a Thursday evening and experienced Some really bad customer service. I sat at the bar for 10 minutes while the bartenders texted and ignored me. It was Some of the worst customer service that I’ve ever experienced.

Out of the all the places in the Short North and Arena District, Callahans is the bar my group of friends and I continue to go back to every weekend. The music, staff such as Zac Stayton, drinks, and rooftop patio make it the best place to be in Columbus on Friday and Saturday nights. Staff was great, and so was the live entertainment on the rooftop. Food was o.k. Mixology was 50/50, but again the staff was super.

Terrible establishment. Chocked out a member of our private party because he took his shirt off. No asking to put the shirt back on. Treated him like an animal. Never coming back

Lots of drink and food options. Multiple different areas for dancing and hanging out. Literally cant hear the music in other areas that are occupied.

Great bar in the Arena district. Multiple levels. 3 distinct areas of the club. 2nd floor has a large outdoor area.

I wasnt a fan of this place. It was alot pf igorant people here the day i went. These folks were pretty rude the day I wnet. I always tell ppl to experience things yourself and make your own decision. I may come back on another day. Hopefully I can add a new perspective for this place.

Of all the places on Park Street, this (and Park Street Tavern) are not to be missed. Great dancing, love the rooftop patio and live DJs.

First time here and I had a blast! Not too big or small, great DJ and music.

Went in. Ignored us for 10 mins as they were Waiting for a private party to arrive. We’re the only ones in the bottom floor and no one talked to us. Had to leave right away

The Bar manager was just saying a ton a semi racist and sexist comments; telling a story but def work inappropriate conversations; bartender however was excellent and gave me a couple great local picks

Over priced and double books party rooms next to each other without having a form of security to keep guests from both sides from attacking each other.

Its ok. Young now and a little costly on the drinks for me. Let too many people in for the little rooftop space they do have.

Definitely another Bro bar, but they do usually have a bargain bin of beer at the front of the bar that is dirt cheap. I am quite a fan of the bargain beer.

It was ok. Went late. Super packed. Waited outside for 15 minutes for admission. Got a drink. Waited 15 minutes for that. Not impressed.

Craft beers not so great so stick with bottles. Ambiance though is great along with good music.
