The Hidden Door Corpus Christi

The atmosphere was great and all BUT I had went last night with friends for my birthday and I had ordered a Liquid Marijuana and the bartender from upstairs had told me my card was declined which was impossible because I had deposited some money onto it the night before and I made sure I had money before going out. I was confused on why it got declined. Some random man was generous enough to pay for my drink so I thanked him. I eventually went on with my night and turns out The Hidden Door had charged my card $50, taking the rest of my money from my card when I ordered a drink that costs no more than $7. I would advise for the foreseen future, ALWAYS BRING CASH INSTEAD. It’s sad to see the only place being known as a place for a safe haven, but ripping you off.

We went for a drag show then ended up at the karaoke bar upstairs and had a blast. This was my second time coming here and never knew there was a room upstairs. Highly recommended friendly gay bar a staple to Corpus Christi ! We came from San Antonio TX

I went last night love the people there friendly and the bartender and stuff too, love the vibe no one judge you, you could be your self and love the music but the drinks kind of expensive but love it Im go again

Amazing bar to visit!... I was on a little trip/vacation and decided to crash to this bar and have a good time with one of my friends. Best decision ever! Staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and feel like family. Customers are friendly as well, so yes... I had a very good time there!

My friend’s phone was stolen by employees, and they are ignoring his husband’s attempts to contact them about it. This place has another name of “The Hidden ‘Score’” because it’s known for scoring people’s things and ripping them off when they use card. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS!!!

Perfect lighting not bright at all. Restroom was very warm but clean. Bartenders are friendly. Great air conditioning!!!

Only gay bar in Corpus but its one of my favorite ones to go to. I always have a great time here. Everyone including straight people need to come here, its just a very cool idea of a bar and great environment.

Good bar. Friendly bartender. Yes, they do place a hold on your bank account for $50 at first. This is pretty common for bars, so if you are apprehensive reading the reviews, its best to know that going in. If youre going out to a bar and you dont have $50 to spare, you should reprioritize your life anyway.

I was in Corpus for work and decided to stop by on a weekday. They had just opened. Met John, the bartender. He was so much fun! Kept me laughing and made me feel very welcome. Over the course of years, this was my third time here. I don’t make it to Corpus often but, I try to drop by when I do. It’s such a great place. Everyone is so friendly! I met the owner, Bill and we chatted for quite a bit. He introduced me to his sweet friends and we all had great conversations about traveling. The Hidden Door is the oldest gay bar in Corpus. Definitely worth stopping by and paying them a visit! When you do, ask for John! Don’t forget to tip him well! Can’t wait to visit again soon!

So my wife and I love to bar hop and I thought this was a great establishment at first. I went there at 9:47 pm last night October 8th and ordered two frozen margaritas for 11 dollars and closed the tab right then and there. I keep all my receipts by the way, and check my bank statements regularly. I woke up this morning to a 50 dollar charge from your establishment. The server Justin O, on the receipt charged me 50 dollars. I am on the phone with my bank and if they cannot help me I will file a police report. The receipt says -11 dollars but my bank statement says -50 dollars This is unacceptable and very disappointing.

Definitely a dive bar. I feel sad that there are no other gay bars in corpus christi. This is not the place to go if you wanna dance or meet people it is most definitely for the older crowd that are regulars which isnt necessarily a bad thing if you are a regular. However they have not improved anything the walls and floor are so run down. Corpus gay community deserves better.

Good strong drinks but it always has a funny smell. Someone please tell me what on earth what is the statue by the bar of? It is really creepy and weird. Bartenders are always nice and friendly and they always have the best drink specials. They have some great patio days where it’s like a pot luck and the owners always do a lot for the community! Oh and will someone tell 1984 that it’s calling for its glitter curtain that they have hanging up on there little make shift stage.

Wanted to enjoy a couple of drinks while bar hopping. Smelled like piss inside and no, it wasn’t just the bathroom. Don’t go here if you want to actually enjoy your time. Also take CASH and get a RECEIPT. CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS IF YOU USE CARD. THEY RIP PEOPLE OFF. First and last time here. Disgusting people.

What a fun place! Very cheap drinks and incredibly friendly people.Really enjoyed the scene in corpus.To note- if you are Austin or Dallas the area may seem a little off, we felt completely safe.The drag and performers outside were awesome.

Not just great drinks they have a beautiful patio. Its a Wonderful place to relax and enjoy a drink and convo. Even just being a vanilla in a swirl mix of people I have always felt warm and welcomed by all the people here. I would totally recommend. It gives me a little piece of California with the great aspects of The Southern Hospitality.

We enjoyed ourselves. Came went into town and wanted to check it out. If you are unsure, there’s a tall rainbow flag that will wave at you, just look up. It was a whole vibe! Bae and I enjoyed ourselves. They had a pool table which was something we enjoy partaking in. Also GLEN, a lovely regular was super sweet to us. The whole bar asked us to stay when they thought we were leaving, and made us feel even more welcomed. I’d recommend this spot to any LGBT+ supporter. Not stingy with the poured beverages either. Just lovely🖤

Great staff,relaxed atmosphere.that is,until this last Sunday Evening,I showed up after work for a few drinks as Ive been doing for like 3 to 4 nights a week,this short, heavy set bartender with a beard and glasses told me I had to leave my bike bag by the front door,I ride a motorcycle so I carry that bag on my bike to hold personal effects, insurance registration paperwork,etc. For any one to just walk by and take it while Im spending good $ and socializing.he refused me service for a small shoulder bag,but Ive personally seen people walk in with large bags,even duffle bags,for diva shows,etc.what set me apart? Well,Im heavily tattooed,this bartender made it obvious he was profiling me,I sent a private msg to their Facebook page,no response.u lost my business,hidden door,and because of one persons unprofessionalism I will let others know that this place shows selective partiality.u lost my buisness,hidden door

If you like chill low-key gay bars in Texas this is a good place to go! The bartender was great and they assured me that its usually busier than that but it didnt matter I had fun anyway and they were nice Im glad I got the chance to go!

I came for an excellent drag performance anf left with new friends and cherished memories. The Barbacks were hot as hell and their 2 dollar fireball shot special, truly made the night something I wish I could remember!

I must say this is a pretty nice place its not very big on the inside but they have a huge patio the staff treated as very very nicely in the drinks for pretty cheap and very good. I would have to say that this is one place you definitely need to check out if you are in Corpus.

We’re straight and totally love this place and the people here. Feel very welcome, the staff and regulars are awesome. Very cool place with an awesome patio, balcony and upstairs bar. They’re always having benefits for the community and we love supporting it :)

Don’t ever come here if you’re from out of town. Definitely make you feel out of place and not welcomed. Very rude, and judgemental. Love does NOT win here

Didnt get food, just drinks

This was the highlight of my trip to corpus. All the other bars were for old people. Thsi was the only hip bar in town.

This bar is amazing love the decor and the staff. This one time i had a little too much to drink and mixed it with hot wings, well those went right thru me and i asked the bartender Julio if he could point me to the bathroom, he did and when i walked thru i ended up in the alley way. I look back and I see julio standing at the door shirtless. I trembled because i really had to poo so i did in my pants, Julio had a disgusting look on his face but that didnt stop him from bending me over and breaking down my hidden door with his monstrosity! Thanks julio it was fun. 5 stars!

Being born and raised in Corpus....coming home to visit The Hidden Door is iconic and a place that totally has a dark sexy fun environment mixed witha wide client base....only upgrade would have to be debit/visa acceptance...this CASH ONLY has always been a hassle every visit.
