We recently stayed at the Adolphus and had no idea they had a spa until I happened to share an elevator ride with the manager, Manny. He enthusiastically recommended the spa, suggesting we at least stop by to take a look. His approach was warm and inviting, not at all pushy, which intrigued us. Later that day, my husband and I decided to check it out and ended up booking reservations. I have to say, it was the best massage Ive ever experienced. The service was exceptional, and while the amenities were somewhat limited, the quality of the massage more than made up for it. We will definitely be returning soon!
My experience at the Spa was wonderful. From the moment we stepped off the elevators we could smell the relaxation of calm immediately. Amy, the Spa Director was so wonderful and made us feel like we were the only priority she had for the day. Took great care of us and our couples massage with Pam, Travis and our couples facial with Melissa and Tori was amazing. I cannot wait to go back.
Terrible experience. Had three treatments. The first one, the massage, was nice. But it went down hill from there. They booked my pedicure in the middle (strange in my experience but ok) and the tech forgot to come get me out of the relaxation room. I finally went to the front desk after about 20 minutes and she took me back. The tech ended up giving me a rushed, horrible pedicure with no massage or anything. Really it was just a polish change. Her phone rang the whole time which was not relaxing or appropriate for a high end spa. I had to do gel polish since I was about to get in a bed for my facial for which they charged me an additional $50. In the end the nail tech was so late that my facial was cut short by like 20 minutes. I still got charged full price for both treatments, nearly $700, and they made me tip the nail tech 20% even though it was a genuinely bad experience that about ruined my facial too. Twice they told me they would discount my bill, but it never happened. Showed up on my credit card at full price including the above mentioned gratuity.
The Spa is an oasis!!! Melissa’s hydrating facial offers exceptional service with a personalized approach, ensuring a deeply relaxing and effective treatment. Her expertise and attention to detail left my skin feeling soft, refreshed, and rejuvenated. Highly recommended for noticeable skin improvements.
Went to the SPA for a me day. It was amazing, working out 24/7 the deep tissue was the way a go. The workers were amazing soon as you walk in greeted by Manny and his boss AMY comes out and makes it even welcoming. I will recommend it and be back soon.
As a avid spa goer I was definitely disappointed in the Adolphus Spa. Check in was a little awkward. Receptionist said she would bring my spa shoes and leave them outside the changing room. It would make more sense to have them when I disrobed. So this process left me taking a show without shoes. Not very sanitary. Especially since the shower was not clean. My spa shoes were left outside the door, I tripped on them as I stepped out. Brown shoes on a brown floor. 🙄The towels were is really bad shape. Literally looked like cleaning rags. They were faded with holes in them. *pictures attached. The spa was really lacking in the little touches that make it feel like a spa. Changing rooms, bathroom was very sterile and cold. No decor, art, flowers, plants. It definitely felt like being in a cheep hotel room and not a spa.Lets talk about amenities in the spa lounge. Your choice was water or hot tea. No snacks or fruit. Every Luxury spa in Dallas offers a complimentary glass of champagne or mimosa. Then there was a female guest that was completely nude in the coed relaxation lounge. This was bizarre to say the least. The only good thing about my Adolphus Spa experience was my therapist Travis. He was professional and made me feel relaxed. If you are looking for a Spa Experience I wouldnt recommend the Adolphus. Paying $300+ for a massage with no spa experience was not worth it. For what I got, I could have gone to massage envy.
I hate to leave a bad review but their tactics are verging on, if not, fully predatory. A little under 2 hours and $1,200 later, we were LESS than impressed. I got a 50 minute massage and a 50 minute facial, my husband got a 100 minute massage. We were in the same room together during our services.50 minute massage was more like 35 since the therapist was walking across the room, at multiple times, during the massage to get more product. Same with the facial. The aesthetician was decent, the massage therapist was very mediocre, at best. I have never had a massage therapist or an aesthetician leave me sitting while they go get product or find tools elsewhere in the room. This always within arms reach on a cart.Spa days are a luxury and I expect to pay a premium, especially at a luxury hotel, but I don’t expect to feel taken advantage of.
I never leave reviews unless they are positive, but my experience here left me feeling I wasted so much money. I have been to other spas in the area and feel that what the Adolphus Spa offers is extremely lack luster not worth the price tag. This, however, is not the only reason why I am leaving a 1-star review. When I first walked in, I was greeted by a woman who was very kind however, I could tell there was something off and after a few exchanges, she had shared with me some devastating personal news she was going through. Of course, my heart hurt for her but the first thought in my mind was, why is she working if she is going through something so awful? Selfishly, (I hate to add this part) I am also there to de-stress with a massage, and it left me feeling just terrible for her thus causing myself even more stress because I wanted to take time and empathize with her for what she was going through but was also about to have my appointment start. She then gave me a tour of the spa and I noticed in the changing rooms there is no toiletries, feminine products, or even a blow dryer to use after you shower. Even most gyms would have some sort of toiletries for guests to use without having to ask. She also asked me if I wanted shower shoes or if I wanted to wear my own and to me, it doesnt need to be a question, just ask for my size when I check in and give them to me before going into the changing room? She said she would leave them outside the door and to me, feels very off. I then go into the waiting room where it just looks like an outdated hotel lobby seating area, before going into my massage. The masseuse came and got me, and she was nice but I was disappointed in the massage rooms with how outdated they were and mine even had a lot of light, so it was really hard to relax. The massage itself was just fine and why I added some stars because at least the service I went in for left me feeling relaxed by the end.Once it was time to check out and leave, it seemed as though the front desk worker was having a hard time getting my partial gift card to go through and eventually asked me to get behind the computer, go through her email and try and get the payment link open myself. It was extremely awkward and unprofessional. $233 later, I left and just did not feel like the quality I got was remotely worth the cost. I think they need to seriously update their spa, offer more amenities (Like the Joule spa for example) and offer better training for staff if they are going to charge what they do. I hate that I am leaving this review, but the experience overall was really rough, and I think its worth noting for future guests.
Incredible spa! It smells like Heaven when you walk in. My masseuse (Tori) made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. She explained what the massage would entail and gave me great instructions on self care after the spa was completed. I am convinced that I need to add monthly spas to my self care list. I’ve never felt so relaxed and rejuvenated!
I purchased the lovers package which included a facial and massage for 2. Both of the services were great, the staff asked questions prior to tailor each to our individual need. However I would not recommend a mani or pedi. I treated my sister and waited by the pool while she got hers done. She told me the massage included with each lasted about a minute. And the lady asked her numerous times if she was sure she didn’t want clear polish on her fingers. After seeing the results I think she may have been better off going that route. It was regular polish, and many of her fingers and toes had parts that weren’t even painted. For $125 plus 20% gratuity added on, I had much higher expectations.
Please stop now and book a facial with Mel. She made me feel so beautiful and the experience was top of the line. She was amazing and such a beautiful soul. You will not be disappointed.
I paid $578.10 for a couples massage with a hand and foot add on, and while it was very nice, my husband and I were shorted by at least 10 minutes for our couples massage (so 20 minutes if you put both massages together). Considering how much the spa cost that was very disappointing. Our Massuse’s were kind and did a good job, we just feel that they were in a rush to be done for the day.We got there early to enjoy the relaxation room and so they started early, we were totally okay with that. I had added on a foot and hand treatment (I thought it was going to be extra massaging on the feet and hands but really it was just exfoliating scrub I did myself on my hands and they did the exfoliating on the feet.)I know sometimes it can feel like a massage goes by quickly. My husband and I took a selfie in the couples massage room several minutes before the massuses came in, they took time to explain what we already knew we were getting and then started. We then took a photo at least 10 minutes after when we went back to the relaxation room and there is only a 55 minute time difference on the photos. We know for sure we only received a 40 min massage MAX each, I know 10 minutes per massage may not seem like much but it was so expensive for me to save up for this, so for me, every minute counted. I tried to tell the hotel, twice, I emailed the spa, no response. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, I wanted to give them the opportunity to make it right. But they didn’t. This is why they get 1 star, it would have been 4 or 5 if they reimbursed me for the lost time or at least attempted something to correct the error.Edit: The Manager Amy called me back and made it right. I have adjusted the review to 3 stars because of the excellent customer service from her. The facility is beautiful and hopefully what happened is very out of the norm.
Was able to visit the spa on my last trip to Dallas. Purchased a cologne and get compliments every time I wear it. Melissa did an amazing job. By far the best massage Ive ever had. The Spa director Amy took time out of her day to show me the barber shop and was able to get a quick haircut as well. Highly recommend this spa and barber shop to all my friends.
Me and my husband visited yesterday for my 30th birthday and had booked a couples massage. We really love how attentive they were and we felt like it was really clean and everyone we had spoken to was very professional. 💓
I recently visited this spa, and the experience was truly exceptional. My masseuse, Melissa, demonstrated a perfect blend of skill and intuition, providing a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating massage. Their attention to detail and ability to tailor the treatment to individual needs truly set this spa apart. I left feeling not only physically renewed but also with a profound sense of tranquility. I highly recommend this spa for anyone seeking a top-notch massage experience.
Booked a therapeutic session and decided to try cupping. Melissa did a great job explaining the treatment to me. Can honestly say I have never had a massage like that before and will be back for another cupping session, very soon! Absolutely loved it and Melissa did an amazing job!
Melissa Balderas was my esthetician and was amazing! I booked a massage with her for next week! I love the adolphus hotel spa
A great way to spend the day getting pampered. This spa rivals spas I’ve been to in Vegas. Very friendly staff. Worth the price to spoil yourself.
My wife and I came for our anniversary and the Spa Director, Amy B, made sure that we were well taken care of. Our treatments were great, staff was friendly and we left feeling special and relaxed. We can’t wait for our next spa day!
My experience at Spa Adolphus was exceptional. My massage with Melissa was excellent, so relaxing.
Outstanding!! My therapist (Melissa) provided such an amazing and peaceful experience for me. It was my first time receiving a scalp massage and it left me feeling so relaxed!! Melissa also used a CBD balm that added an extra layer of relaxation, leaving me feeling rejuvenated!
The spa Adolphus was incredible. I received a massage, facial and pedicure and all three were amazing. I loved my spa day, it was just what I needed! The showers with the eucalyptus spray was wonderful and I cannot wait to come back. The Spa Director Amy checked in on me and made sure my experience was first class.
This is my first experience with the Spa Adolphus and it was wonderful. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The esthetician providing my facial was excellent! She explained the items she was using and the processes as well. The Relaxation room was lovely and calming and the facial room was immaculate and calming as well.I will definitely return in the near future to have another experience!
I had a very good experience when I came to this spa. Mel was amazing and took very good care of me. Outstanding
My wife and I take one vacation a year on our anniversary and we have chosen to stay at the Adolphus for the past 4 years. The hotel is amazing and we absolutely love it. We decided this year to try the spa for the first time as we normally go to he The Joule for our massage needs when in Dallas. I made reservations over the phone for a 50 minute couples massage and added a facial for both of us a couple days before our appointment. Upon arrival everything was great. The person at the front desk showed us to our changing rooms and we met up shortly after in the waiting area and sipped on fruit water while we waited. The two ladies performing our facials met us in the waiting area and escorted us to the room. The were both very nice and spent the first ten minutes explaining what they were going to do and attempting to upsell us on multiple add ons. We both added a scalp massage. The lady performing my facial massaged my face for about 30 seconds before applying some lotion. 5 minutes went by while she was off in the corner doing something else. She came back and massaged my scalp for about 20 seconds and went back over in the corner for another few minutes. I kept thinking she was getting ready to start and then she said ok thats it. I was very confused. She worked on me for less than a minute in the 30 minutes we were in there. I told myself to hold all the complaints until after my massage as I didnt want to be worked up and ruin my massage. We were returned to the waiting room and my wife complained as well about the extremely short scalp massage. Her facial was good and included multipledifferent liquids being applied. I told her not to worry about my issues or her short scalp massage as we would get it fixed after our massage. We waited about 5 minutes and the ladies performing our massage came in and discussed our intentions before escorting us to the massage room. When the massage started I heard what sounded like my masseuse putting on latex gloves. I thought noway! .. theres no way Im about to get a massage from someone wearing gloves. We get massages all the time .. this is a first. Im not a dirty person so I dont know what this is about. Sure enough she is wearing gloves! She proceeded to give me a sub par light pressure massage while raking latex gloves across my skin though I asked for a harder pressure at least 10 times during the massage. For 50 minutes I was counting the seconds until it ended as it was uncomfortable and miserable. I would have complained much sooner but I didnt want to ruin my wifes massage. When it was over I rushed to get dressed and headed to desk let them know my displeasure. It must be noted that my wife said her massage was decent (7/10). I let the receptionist know that my massage was the worst ever done by a person with medical gloves on and she proceeded to say it was standard practice for some masseuses to wear gloves. I told she was lying and this is not by any means standard practice. I let her know also that my facial was a joke and the lady worked on me for less than a minute while my wifes facial was hands on for 30. She said that was normal as well. I asked for the manager and she had already gone home for the day. Then came the bill.. $1200!!!! I said there is no way Im paying $1200 for a medical glove massage and 50 second facial.. but they had already run my card. Ok well no tip then but too late they already added 22%. I went down to the front desk but the hotel manager said the spa is separate from the hotel and he couldnt help.I went back the next day twice but the manager was not available either time and we had to leave.. I sent an email and left a voicemail after leaving the hotel and no one ever got back to me. Dont waste your time here. This place is a joke. Go to the Joule or the Crescent. They had many opportunities to make it right but chose to ignore.
My husband got a facial. I got a pedicure. We both agreed that the services were just average and nothing special. The atmosphere also was nothing special. What was most upsetting to us was we felt like we were taken advantage of. Both technicians added things on to our services without asking us. So, we ended up getting $120 in “add-ons”without our permission. This made us feel scammed and taken advantage of. When we said something to the spa desk manager, he didn’t do anything to try to make it right. When we talked to the front desk of the hotel they said they would look into it, but never followed up with us. No one did anything to make it right or reimburse us.It was all talk and no action. This shows that they really don’t care about their customers. They may respond to this review, but please know it’s just to save face because they have shown by their actions that they do not care. Please take this as a warning and go somewhere else!UPDATE- After about a month of communication with them, they finally refunded the $120.00. However, they did not want to. They told us to take our review down, but I am still leaving it up because I think it’s important that people be aware of their dishonest business practices.
Going to the Adolphus is one of my favorite things to do in Dallas and a place that I always bring guests when they come into town. A Beautiful hotel, loads of character and a true gem with a wide array of things to do when on site. The spa is also a beautiful and relaxing space with a very friendly staff. I am always searching for an esthetician that I feel great with and who has experience in their field. Yesterday during my visit to the Adolphus Spa I was lucky enough to have an appointment with Fox and she was fantastic! She took her time, had a lovely pace, professional applications and made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. Being a new Dallas resident of just a couple of years I have been on the search, gone to more high end spas that I can count and after yesterday I think I have found my person. Thank you Fox and Ill see you at my next appointment.
Great location, received vaulted, the spa/hotel validated our parking, the accommodations and waiting room were relaxing and included complimentary bubbles while we waited. The pool, food and bar topped off our experience. The spa added gratuity automatically instead of giving us the option or notifying us.
Had the most beautiful experience at the spa with a full massage and Vitamin C facial. I highly recommend asking for Fox the aesthetician. She was phenomenal. We all need this sort of pampering in our lives at the moment. Make sure you stop by the French Room for afternoon tea before your treatment. It makes for a day of luxury!
They had a great team and all their services were top notch! Prices were a little higher than expected but for what we got it was definitely worth it!
Best spa experience Ive ever had, wont go anywhere else!
First time spa experience was the greatest! Will definitely go back
Was having a crisis and Mani was particularly helpful! They do offer blowouts, makeup application and have a nice resting room you can hang out in if you have an appointment with the spa
I booked this massage for my girlfriend and I based on the previous reviews, and needless to say we were extremely disappointed. For starters, the outside temperature was 61, and it was probably 61 in the spa as well, which is not conducive of a relaxing environment in my opinion. Second, we asked for deep tissue massages and received anything but. Lastly, the amount I paid ($530 USD for 50 min) was not applicable to the service we received. Additionally, they pre-add 20% gratuity without you knowing it. The staff was pleasant, but the services received absolutely did not warrant the high cost. We will not be back!
I recently visited the Spa at the Adolphus Hotel. The experience was amazing from the minute I walked in. I had a nail appointment. with Pam followed by a massage with Travis. First Class experience from the minute I walked into the Spa. Thank you and I will definitely be back. Thank you, Spa Adolphus!!
My husband and I had a couples massage and facial here in February for his birthday. We came to the Adolphus because the Joule did not have any openings on the dates we had free. Unfortunately the spa experience here pales in comparison to the Joule. My least favorite part was the co-ed cattle call room while you are waiting to be called in for your service. Not sure if they had overbooked but there were not enough places for everyone to sit so it was about 12 strangers in their robes awkwardly staring at each other in silence, not relaxing at all. The massage was adequate and the facial was just okay. I did not appreciate the products sales pitch from the estheticians. No amenities, not relaxing, no privacy - not for us.
HAND DOWN 5 STARS A MUST DO.... THIS FACILITY REALY ENGAGEDWITH THEI6CLIENTS FOR OUTSTANDING COUSTMER SERVICE AND MY MELI COULDNT HAVE BEEN ANY SWEETER!
Spa ambiance was very relaxing and my massage by Melissa was Great!! She was very professional and I will go back for a massage and facial. Great customer service
The worst and the most overrated spa experience ever. They charge 4 times what a nail place down the road will charge but their quality is zilch. They pre-add tip to invoices so you are pressured into paying for their sub standard service. Everything from welcome to showers and changing room is sub-par while their charges are comparable to the best which makes it worse. Only good thing is Heather who is wonderful to her customers
The people were nice, but the overall experience does not compare to some of the other high-priced spas in Dallas. The lack of amenities and a true relaxation room prevent this from being a repeat visit.
I had high hopes for the Spa at the Adolphus for a relaxing morning with my mother and mother-in-law. Unfortunately, I was more stressed when I left than when I arrived. Things started out great – facility is beautiful and clean and people were friendly. That changed when I was taken back for my massage and put in a back treatment room where you have to walk through the salon (full of people) in your robe. No big deal until you’re trying to relax and you can hear the clipping of fingernails and toenails while you’re in the treatment room. The service provider later told me “we rarely use this room” … great, glad I got the worst one. Then, once my treatment started, the service provider seemed like he was new to giving massages. It was choppy and awkward. Twice during my massage I could hear people (sounded like staff) in the waiting area outside of the treatment room – this was over the music that was playing in the room and the rain outside. Then, the WORST part, about 70% through the service, I was face down and someone opened the door and yelled “Hello?” Talk about disrupting. You’re naked, half covered on the table, and the door is open. I don’t know if it was the service provider that opened it or if it was someone else in the spa but it was awkward and ruined the experience. The front desk never asked how my service was when my mom and I checked out. So I brought it up and told them it wasn’t acceptable and rather than ruining the day with my mom and mother-in-law, the woman at the front desk said she would have the manager call me. Well, it’s been almost 4 days and no word from the manager.I hate to write a bad review because the Spa is gorgeous and has a ton of potential to be a great experience. Mine was just not one of them. If you want to leave frustrated and stressed, try it out.
Had a great experience! Great customer service ask for Meli!
Victoria at The Spa has been styling my hair for several years now. I really like that she listens to what I want and always knows the right style for my hair and face. I highly recommend her. Love my hair.
My husband and I went for a couples massage and it was not very good. They seemed to be in a hurry and didnt seem to care to be there. The price they charge is outrageous for what we received.
Bought my wife, mother and mother in law the spring renewal package for Mother’s Day. They spent the entire day at the spa. Loved it and definitely will do it again.
Victoria, the Hair Dresser at the Adolphis spa has been my hairdresser for several years and I would follow her anywhere. Ive been lucky enough to experience the great customer service and beautiful amenities at the Adolphis spa. Im very grateful that she is there
I was pampered with a facial and my husband enjoyed a massage and we absolutely recommend! Val listened to my needs and wants and was extremely friendly and welcoming. We will be back!
The spa is small but that actually made it even more relaxing. I loved my massage and the lounge area. If you haven’t been to this hotel, you need to - such a treat!
I had an amazing experience with Meli At the spa!!! It was incredible!! I can’t wait to go again!!
Ive been going to Victoria for a while now and really recommend her to anyone looking for a hairstylist. I have curly hair and appreciate how shes interested in keeping it healthy after any chemical treatment.
Loved my time at the Spa. The massage and facial was incredible. Can not wait to go back!
One of the best spas in Dallas. They are a dry spa but they offer experiences you can not get anywhere else downtown. The front desk is very attentive and helpful.
A wonderful hotel spa in a beautiful hotel! The relaxation room has yummy fruit infused water and a selection of hot teas. My massage was relaxing and rejuvenating.
The staff at Spa Adolphus created a perfect setting for my daughter and her 17 bridesmaids to have their hair and makeup done on the wedding day! What a special and memorable way to get ready for our daughters dream wedding day. Amy Bell and all the staff were so accommodating and pleasant!
Lovely experience. Worth all the money spent. Thank you for making my Mothers day a relaxing one!!
Victoria at Spa Adolphus has been taking great care of me and taming my cowlick for three years now. She knows what she is doing and I always end up looking great.
They fried my hair so badly it dissolved in the sink. Literally waist long hair fell completly out above my shoulders. The rest is frizzy fried. Horrible. I cant believe they had the audacity to still charge me.
The staff at this spa is so so friendly and the massage we got was out of this world!!! Will definitely return!!! Thanks for a great experience!
Massage was good. The place is very nice. But I paid for a 50 minute massage and it was only 30 minutes.
I just had a pedicure with Angel and she was wonderful. Great conversation and great pedicure. I would highly recommend coming here. Thank you Angel.
BEST deep massage EVER! Staff was very welcoming and the atmosphere was extremely relaxing!!

Ooo
