My favorite place! I really enjoy the Silent Disco they have once a month on Friday. They give you comfortable headphones in exchange for your ID, and there are 3 channels to chose from (with their own headphone light colors) - hip hop, EDM/techno, and old school (80s/90s). I love the hip hop channel - they play a lot of old school classics like Tupac, Biggie, Snoop, etc. Its nice because if you dont like a song, you can just change the channel. You can control the volume as well. A lot of places these days play Top 40, but Im not a huge fan. Its nice to have something different! Its always a large crowd, too.. and everyone has a lot of fun. They also usually have a drink special at Silent Disco - lately its been $5 Long Islands. Prices arent bad overall, pretty standard. Drinks are strong. Bartenders are friendly and attentive. You never have to wait too long for service. The owner is friendly. Another bonus - a cage to dance in! I also always look forward to Flashback Friday - 90s and 2000s hits! Whats not to love? One thing to work on, though... PLEASE fix your bathroom doors. Sometimes they dont lock. The Salsa Saturdays are also pretty fun - dress to impress!

I went for the first time this last Saturday and it was so much fun. The DJ played a mixture of salsa, bachata, and merengue. The staff was nice, and the place was clean. We arrived at 10 PM, and there was plenty of space for dancing. It started getting more crowded towards 11:30. I’m definitely coming back.

Every single time I come to this club I have the BEST time & the best experience! I love Saturday salsa nights! The vibe is great, everyone is friendly & nice, great entrance price, & the music is goood. I Definitely recommend it.

Prices are VERY steep!!!!!! I went to watch a karaoke contest there a while ago. The singers were supposed to sing 3 songs & they gained points with every song they sang. The bartender walked in sang 1 song & won 2nd place in the contest. I seen a lot of talent that night but there is no way the bartender got enough points singing 1 song to win second place!!!!! I have never seen a legitimate contest that allows employees to enter! They obviously dont value their customers!!!!! Will not be returning!!!!

Silent Disco was a cool experience. You go in, pay the cover, and trade your ID for a headset. There are 3 DJs. Top 40 hip hop, classic hip hop, and EDM. You control your own headset selection and volume. You can see what others are listening to based on the color lit up on their headset. Would go again.

I absolutely love this place. Whether you are a social butterfly or an awkward wall flower, this is the place for you.You trade your ID for a headset, you get to choose as many times as you want between 3 different djs. The drinks are strong and the atmosphere is bomb.You from dayton, go. You visiting dayton, go. Bored and trying to do something fun, go.

If I could leave no stars, I WOULD. first time going there, went to cash my tab out after the night of ordering drinks on my tab..... and they said they couldn’t find my tab. That I “must’ve already signed for it”. I hadn’t closed my tab at all, meaning they gave my card to someone else, having someone else order on my tab, and signing for it. I was charged $55 that I did NOT SPEND. the bartenders did not care at all that I was upset, told me “It happens all the time” (you hand out the wrong cards to customers regularly???), called security on me, and I ended up speaking to a security guard and the OWNER. who took my number, and promised he would figure it out and be in contact with me. I has been four days, 12 messages later on Facebook to the bar (bc the phone number is just automated recordings), with NO RESPONSE OR EXPLANATION. The only thing I’ve been told is “they’re actively reaching out to who they believe has my card”. I’ve told them I don’t care about my card since I deactivated it, I just want my money back and for them to correct this. I am disgusted with how they are handling this. They are reading my messages, where I’m begging for just a damn reply about what’s going on. Do not give your business to this unprofessional bar.

This rating (Nov 2016) is based on Therapy Cafe being a place to go Salsa dancing in Dayton. (Saturday is supposedly latin dancing night)2-stars, because that is the total number of salsa dances i got to do with my wife from 11:30pm - 1:00am. 2The club has undergone some changes over the last year. Theyve made it more open and bright, with light displays and a DJ booth that takes up space from a previously small/crowded dance floor. In the past, you had to dress to impress - men in slacks and dress shoes and many women in dresses -- but now apparently jeans and sneakers are the norm. The bartenders seemed to keep busy and do their job doling out drinks and cleaning up glasses/bottles around the place.In the past, the crowd started to arrive after 11:00 (and still does) but its now a different crowd/vibe. The music was mostly reggaeton, with a few bachata and salsa thrown in. There was music some tried to do a merengue to, but it was simply 4-beat music that you could dance merengue for much of the song.So if youre looking for salsa/merengue/bachata I didnt find it here and you may have to resolve yourself to driving to Cincinnati, Columbus or Indianapolis. If you want reggaton --- essentially latin hiphop, then you may enjoy the new Therapy.

Came here for a birthday bash with some of my buddies the atmosphere is great and not too crowded. The cage thats up by the stage is a plus too. They have some of the best themed nights in dayton.

The Wednesday night open jam felt like a much needed hump day getaway! With free food and no cover, plus a kickin house band, this place really got moving, while still retaining its refined personality! I think Ill be back next wednesday...

Good atmosphere for Saturday Latin night. Good DJ but very repetitive every Saturday, playing same songs every weekend. Drink are good price!

I enjoy tuesday nights when they play dubstep. Salsa saturdays are best though. You feel like youre in another country. A lot of foreigners go and its a great time. I love the music. They also sell walking tacos and rice in the back until they run out.

100 percent the best place Ive been in Dayton. Great drinks, fantastic music, and amazing people. Definitely found my new spot

Came in from out of town, looking for a place to get some drinks. Website and Google stated the establishment was opened. Once we arrived the sign on the door said they were open. I go to pull the door and its locked, there were people inside, specifically behind the bar. Never came to the door, didnt aplogize that they were closed nothing.i would give no star if I could. 2 thumbs down!

The music venue and silent discos are always a blast to go to! My only complaint are the bartenders. It takes forever to get a drink, even when its not busy.

I REMEMBER THIS PLACE IN THE BEGINNING IT WAS SO AMAZING,10 YEARS AGO, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING THE ENVIRONMENT WAS VERY POSH, I STOPPED BY THE OTHER NIGHT 2017 10TH OF DEC,, I LOOKED THOUGHT THE FRONT WINDOW EXPECTING TO SEE MY OLD DANCE CLUB , i NEARLY FELL OVER IN DISGUST , AND SADNESS , IT LOOKS HORRIBLE, THESE PICS ARE A LIE, IT WAS JUST HORRIBLE, EVERYTHING GONE STRIPPED DOWN TO THE UGLY SCRAPINGS OF CLOSE THIS PLACE AND STOP LYING YOU RENOVATED , I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED ,SORRY BUT TRUE, WE NEED A REAL SALSA CLUB NOT THIS, SAD ,,,,,

Definitely on the hip-hop side of the coin. Ladies dressed nice but the men are dressed hip-hopish. T-shirts, tennis shoe, cargo shorts, and ball caps.

Great venue! I went for industrial night and dancing was fun. Drinks are affordable and there was a good crowd.

Ive only been here once & I didnt really enjoy myself. The bartender was kind of rude & I thought the prices were a little on the steep side. It was rather busy so he might have just been a little flustered though.

I love this Therapy Cafe. It is right around the corner from my house. I am usually here at least once a day and the baristas know me by name.

Good for people who like dancing. They often have salsa nights and a few Afro-Carribbean nights.

An amazing place, makes you feel like you are East Village. Great ambiance...great music, what a jewel in downtown Dayton

Love the personal care of the staff and owner. Every night is different and enjoyable.

The parking lot was gravelled, unlined, and totally free - just like God intended.

I guess it ok.. do not expect anything special.. except overpriced drinks :-)
