Spa at Little River

Ladies are amazing. Once you get settled in, it becomes more than a spa. It is quiet and the work will speak for itself. It feels like, their goal is to genuinely make you feel better rather than just getting you as a booked appointment. Im very excited to go back, there is no one person better than the other there :) enjoy your spa day

The customer service and management is horrible. One of their former employees allowed someone to use my $340 gift card without the gift card present to turn in. All they did was apologize, saying thats a lot of money and claimed the owner would call us. Its been 2 weeks and we called them several times and showed up with no resolution. Save your money and time by going somewhere reputable. Next step is a lawsuit since they think its a gameResponse to your reply:My boyfriend requested a new gift card under your new ownership, which your staff told him wasnt necessary back in 2021. Also that the card was solely under his name and no one else. The gift card was entered for two facial and massage packages, however Meg told me the card was used for a couples massage (provided both parties names) and that shouldnt have happened. She also stated the gift card needed to be rendered during services, which didnt happen as he and I were in possession of it. My boyfriend brought the card in along with the receipt for proof. Your staff collected the gift card and recipient upon his arrival 2 weeks ago. Never as anyone at your spa offered me service due to the inconvenience as I spoke with your staff by phone twice. They offered us a 20% discount, which is unsatisfactory. We were told that the person who utilized the gift card fraudulently would be billed. While we understand transfer of management can result in conflicts and concerns we expected a better line of communication and reconciliation due to the error of your former employee. Nobody likes a bad review and follow up phone calls from a business would be appreciated during business hours. Your voicemail time stamp was after 11pm last night, which was after my review left here. All of this could have been avoided as no customer should have to constantly call and stop by looking for resolution.

I wish I could give it less stars. Had a full phone and email conversation with the office manager for a spa party for my daughters 10th Birthday. We talked prices, using the kitchen area, the services, she even emailed me asking for the list of the girls names. Guess what - the place was CLOSED on the her birthday and tells me its a misunderstanding. Then she has nerve to ask me why I am upset and that we can do it at a later time. I have $500 in GC that are going to go to complete waste now.

I wish I could them ten stars. To begin with, this place is so clean and calm. I got therapeutic massage and head massage by Marleny, owner of the place and my massage therapist! She definitely knows her job very well but she understands your tense sore muscles too! She is just amazing! I am leaving this place relaxed and happy and I know I will come back soon! I would highly recommend to try this place for facials and massages! I have tried both and both times and I had a wonderful experience. Thanks Marleny

So beautiful and so peaceful! Was gifted a prenatal massage with Judy and a pedicure with Fatima, that I received today! Everyone there has made me feel so comfortable, and just amazing customer service! I will definitely recommend this beautiful Spa to everyone I know! I feel so much better after such a stressful pregnancy, this day was so needed, and everyone made it a great experience for me! Thank you The Spa at Little River!!

Spa was very charming, welcoming and peaceful. I splurged on the Signature Massage and it was so worth it. One of the best massages I have ever had. I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend!!

New Management/Owner= Nightmarish!!!I hated even giving this place a single star. What once was a reputable place, is no more! Just got off the phone with the new owner who has absolutely no idea how to run a business! Ive not ever encountered such ineptitude as in this spa. Its gone to hell and a handbasket. I would go into specifics about what was the offense, but what would be the use? Any offense committed by this establishment would be met with no reasonable resolution for the customer. Trust me and take my word, save your hard earned money and go find yourselves a decent spa where the customer is spoken to and treated with dignity and respect.

Over the weekend I booked a treatment that I received as a Mothers Day gift. It was a massage and a facial. Booking the treatment was a breeze, the services were very thorough and lovely and the staff was all so kind. Ill definitely be booking another session!

I had the Little River Signature Massage (80 minutes) with Nicole. It was outstanding!! Perfect pressure, temperature, atmosphere...it was excellent. After it was completed, I couldve easily taken an hour nap, I was so relaxed. I will definitely be back.Side note: I opted for peppermint oil, and as it was massaged in, it was lightly tingly and very refreshing.Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Still cant believe what happened to the old location, feel so sorry for you guys.The only, I wouldnt call it minus but difficulty, its to get there, because its just from the northe of the 18. I have gotten my hair done there twice and a massage. The hair stylist there is amazing. She had a very thorough consultation with me before washing my hair. This is the way its supposed to get done and no one really does it. She did a great job with my hair both times. She really listened to my needs and concerns and addressed each of them. She also have some great advice that was actually based on my needs not just something she would say to every customer. In addition, the customer service is great and I felt super pampered! Cant wait to go back!

Ive been coming here for years. The original location was such a beautiful place. Old world mansion. I really do miss it. The new location is in an awkward intersection of Rte 18.The nail service is exceptional with Fatima. Very pleasant, professional and detail oriented. Always makes me feel very comfortable.

This spa recently changed in management and it already shows. There is NO customer service and staff is rude. The only aesthetician that can do facials is Maria. After a misunderstanding the spa asked for a credit card number over the phone so that they could charge me 50% of the service not received. Manager refused to provide her name which should be the biggest indicator that this business is not professional. I’m writing so others are aware and can save themselves a headache and charges not authorized. Find somewhere else that wants to stay in business and keep their clients.

Just returned from a facial at the spa with Judy S. It was amazing and so well done. First time for a micro abrasion added to my usual facial and I am thrilled with the results. I have been coming to this spa for many years and they never cease to amaze me. Karen with my hair, Fatima with my pedicures and now Judy and Lois for facials. Beautiful spa which followed all the necessary Covid precautions...very relaxing and professional treatment each and every time . Highly recommended.

I have been going to Spa at Little River for years. Not only is it the only Spa I will ever go to, but the professionalism and soothing atmosphere are unmatched. I always feel so welcomed and the serenity of the spa is beyond relaxing.Megan delivers the best deep tissue massage and checks in the make sure the pressure is great. I will never go to another spa and cannot recommend Spa at Little River enough.

This place is the place to relax and unwind. The only place I would go for a facial or massage. I’ve been going to Lois for facials for years and she is the #best in NJ. The place is a historic building and kept very clean. Their prices are in line with other box store front spa’s but here you will find better service and atmosphere. The ladies at the desk are very nice as well as the current owner. I know they are different than the box spa’s but it would be nice if they had a loyalty card.

I have had the pleasure of having several services done at The Spa at Little River. The new owner has done an amazing job of renovating it and adding her own special touches to make it look warm and inviting. From the time you enter the spa you will feel pampered. Their Farmhouse Fresh Pedicures are luxurious and I look forward to seeing what the new scents will be every month. Fatima gives special details to your toes and cuticles like no one else I have gone to. Lois is absolutely amazing with her talent for giving your eyebrows that perfect look. Maria has made my skin feel amazing after one of their signature facials. I highly recommend all of their services there..

I was a former Serenity client, so when it switched to the Spa at Little River I was a little apprehensive. I have to say that the level of professional courtesy has not changed and the staff is all accommodating. If you have the chance to schedule with Vince or Victor... sorry bad memory of names. Do so! His technique is amazing. I used to schedule facials with Helen, however she has left. I wish I could give you a great reference for a facial, but I havent scheduled one since Helen left. The building outside and inside are just gorgeous and they have surprise specials when you sign up for their mailing list.

Great facial with Maria--she really knows her stuff and is super friendly and thorough. She really took the time to consult with me on my skin before the facial. The spa itself is beautiful on the inside. Very charming. Will be back. :)

Very friendly atmosphere and great ppl. Was very easy to get an appointment and I justhad an amazing massage - will be definitely back. Oh and the place is absolutely clean and very pretty.

Great day spa! My wife and I have been going to Spa at Little River for several years. We were always treated to a relaxing time by a wonderful staff.

Lana was terrific, as always! She always uses just the right amount of pressure. I feel great when I leave there and I cant wait to come back.

I went to the little spa around late 200s or early 2010s. I had massage services twice. I was very happy with the service.I believe the owners are different now.

A very romantic and relaxing place to have your massage. Very great service and a very friendly environment. I was so very relaxing after the 90 mins massage. It feels like all of my stress were all gone in a matter of minutes. I really enjoy this place and plan to go back again.

If you’re looking for a local equivalent to AVEDA or Dolce in Short Hills, this is NOT it!I’m committed to supporting small local businesses; but this one has to do better. The quality of their device needs to match their price point and it’s worlds apart.A huge selling point for me was their website reporting they use Young Living Essential Therapeutic Oils, according to the manager, they haven’t used YL therapeutic essential oils in years. Yet, it’s still on their website.There was so much noise being made by the staff during my service, I asked my massage therapist if the room we were in was adjacent to the break room. They were having full on conversations in the hallways (which are narrow & small) complete with high pitches laughter at non conversational volume levels. I’ve never experienced such tomfoolery in a spa. The staff needs additional training in spa etiquette. It would also be nice if they conducted their interviews in a private room downstairs or quietly in the service room and not the hallway.My service was supposed to include therapeutic, deep tissue, & hot stone treatments. There was barely any hot stones.What spa uses squeeze bottles in 2020? Equip your staff with pumps and lotion heaters so the lotion can be warm please. Trying to relax and being intermittently shocked with cold lotion is not what I expected.Words don’t describe my level of disappointment. This was a complete waste of money and time.

Went to the spa last week for my birthday and had a great massage with Cassandra. The service was great! I definitely will go back. Thanks for the cupcakes. It was a nice surprise.

Great service but the WORST PEDICURE EVER!Short version, DONT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH the woman name beginning wit SUS (dont want to ruin her completely)!!!!! But def Book with Heidi!!!Story:We came a group of 5 girls and the receptionist Kristen was more than helpful when setting up our reservation and allowing us to bring wine and snacks during our visit. Our party was broken up; 2 for pedis (since they only have 2 chairs) n the other 3 for body massages, then there would be a swap.The woman who was performing my pedicure seemed like she popped one too many quaaludes and was definitely floatin around, gone three sheets to the wind.She would file a nail of mine in a singular spot for at least 60secs rubbing my skin to no end! If u have ever had a sibling, you know how annoying it cant get when they keep poking you in the same spot over and over where your body automatically wants to react with a punch or swift kick to the face so it will stop 😕 thats what was happening to my feet with this woman!My mother n I started our pedi session at the same time, and while she was getting a lovely scrub and foot massage from Angie (who was incredibly sweet n professional), my feet were un massaged, getting pruned in luke warm water while the pedicurist scratched, poked n compulsively irritate my toes with a nail filer, only stopping to move things about on her station or hold a conversation about her 32 yrs old boyfriend n how disgusting she thinks quiche is... 😩What turned it all around for me was my masseuse Heidi who was by far the best massage I have had in years!I slipped out an accidental complaint to her ab my pedicure while she was sending me into 7th heaven with her amazing skills of working out the enormous kinks in my body. She did a phenomenal job.I later found out she is the director of the place 😅 oops 😊 but said she was gonna take care of the price for the pedicure (only just realizing when I got home she didnt 😒 I will be following up on that)Conclusion:Even though I have scratches on my leg from that horrific pedicure n that burn like bloody murder!, Heidi made up for it and I rebooked an appointment wit her for next month

I followed Karen who has now been doing my hair for close to 3 years. She is awesome. She knows her stuff and I have never had anyone who has gotten my hair close to what she can do. I will never let anyone else touch my hair again.

I came in a few times and was very happy with my service, but the last time I came in my massage therapist did NOT know what she was doing. I used to be a massage therapist so I would know and I kept gently trying to help her by saying things that I shouldn’t even NEED to say like “you’re directly on my spine” WITH HER ELBOW. It was the most painful hour of my life. She actually injured my tailbone and when I called a couple days later and asked to speak to a manager the girl on the phone didn’t let me and said she could help me.. which she didn’t. All she said was “I’ll put a note in your file” COME ON. Anyway a month or so went by and it was still in SO much pain and I ended up going to the doctor and getting it x-rayed and it’s fractured. She fractured my tailbone and all I got was “oh we will put a note in your file”

Friendly staff, easy scheduling, and the hot stone massage was great. I’m sure I’ll be back there soon!
