Cool little place but they are definitely feeling the staffing crisis. We finally went up and ordered at the bar and the bartender/waitress was literally handing the entire place. We waited a while for our Bloody Mary’s which ended up being worth the wait! Chicken fried steak was great and corn beef and hash wasn’t bad. If you can get past the lack of help, it’s a decent place for breakfast. Looks like it could be fun when the music and bands kick in in the evening.

I didnt get a picture of my omelet and home fries because I devoured them too quickly 😅 French toast here is really good! Classic thick toast thats crispy on the outside and soft inside. And Teresa is the sweetest bartender in the world 💕 She will remember you and treat you like family.

Love this place! The staff is nice, the regulars are a hoot, and the karaoke on Thursday and Friday nights is lots of fun!

I went to Comstock for Sunday karaoke, 1-28-2024.I have a service dog.Female owner Mirna refused to service me. I identified my service dog - who is under working harness - is allowed under federal law/ADA to accompany me everywhere as an extension of me. There are no “papers”. She refused service and told me to leave.I told her I will be filing a complaint with DOJ then left.

Employees super rude and bar looks like its stuck in the 80s but not in a good way. Drinks are wack definitely would never come back to this place that looks and feels like deaths waiting room.

Great music, food, and service. Love the staff and the atmosphere, chill in the early evening and picks up later on. They have karaoke and a dance floor with a digital juke box. Come in for a drink and check it out!

Really miss the old Comstock... Definitely not the same place anymore. Good food if theres a cook which is rare lately. Significant price hikes on alcohol and inconsistent hours. Some days not open at all even though its posted on the window that their open every day. The new owners dont seem to care at all about all the old regulars who have kept this local favorite afloat for years. What a shame!

Edit: Came Monday 4/24 at 12:30pm and the place is closed, even though the sign said they should be open. We are assuming the new management is already out of business.Local bar with really good cheap food. Line dancing lessons and Karaoke are offered certain nights of the week. Theres a patio in front and a jukebox. No bar games. Surprisingly huge dining room with a little tiny dance floor that gets packed! During the day, I have only seen an older crowd, but the evenings see a nice mix of folks who dont mind mingling together. Just come get a cold one and check it out already!

Love this place. Food is real good & Doug does the karaoke fantastic. They have full bar & know how to make great drinks too. If youre looking for a fun time that doesnt break your bank this is the place to go!

New management has made this place a whole lot better! Competitive prices on everything and a variety of options. Love the management and atmosphere. Come through for karaoke on Monday!

Very nice local bar feel here the food was very good the service is friendly and on point. I do recommend you try it if youre for a good local bar & grill

I have been going to Comstock almost every Wednesday evening for Karaoke for over two years. Mainly for karaoke. The Karaoke jockey, Doug, is only there on Wednesday nights.Doug was a big help in getting this shy girl started. The crowd is very accepting of new comers and new singers.I think there is a different jockey some other nights but Doug is my favorite.The food is good. The drinks are good. The Karaoke is the most fun you ever had.Oh, and the prices are reasonable.Sincerely,Sherrie C.

I was skeptical of this bar inside a strip mall but I had no reason to be after I went. Veronica is an attentive and excellent bartender. Drinks are cheap, shots are generous. Dougs kareoke night on Wednesdays is dang fun! I loved watching folks dance to the singers. All ages here, and the older folks kill it on the mic. Will go again whenever I am in town.

Ive been here twice before and loved it both times. The bartender was super nice. Older crowd doing kareoke but still had a great time having great drinks at reasonable prices. I am going to go back and try the food which I hear is great.

I love this restaurant! I remember the first time I visited here as a child when I was about 10 years old. This place is an institution here in Escondido and the breakfast is to die for! Definitely worth a stop if youre ever in the area. Still kind of smells like smoke inside of the restaurant but besides that it has a lot of great character.

Went for breakfast today, it was fabulous. Bloody Marys awesome. Waitress was always smiling and super friendly. New favorite place.

The only problem I have with a Comstock Bar and Grill is that they dont serve any food past 4:00 So if youre going to hear a band play. You either have to go out and get food. Or suffer. You guys could probably make a killing if you served food till at least 7:00. That way your patrons that were coming to hear a great band such as Cool Rush, had a place to eat dinner or nibbles prior to the band coming on. Just my POV .

Lovely mom and pop owned bar had a few beers and spoke with some locals pretty good food too and the owner gave us a free shot!

Really good spot entrance is kind of expensive beers are also a little expensive but I also understand why

Very nice place. Cozy indoors, food platters looked great. Didnt have anything to eat. Heather the bartender was outstanding. Friendly and very attentive. Worth a visit.

Bartender not friendly at all and didn’t blinker the idea that they were playing a movie and baseball game on tv while everyone was dancing

I go here occasionly for their karaoke, a nice little unpretentious bar with an older crowd. With decent drink prices. The one caveat is the karaoke dj, an older gentleman who seems to think he is the owner. Or a rock god of comstock, unfriendly and sour pussed when not feining excitement on stage. Hes a staple of the establishment who seems to dislike the younger crowd and people of color. In short hes kind of a d#[email protected] than that its a nice chill evening to spend drinking and people watching and with enough you might even get involved

New in town so i was unaware the kitchen closed at 5pm. But the bartender was nice, the atmosphere was comfortable, had 2 beers and left to get some dinner somewhere.

Great place to have fun with your family and friends,good food and drinks,great karaoke Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so much fun learning to line dance on Thursday nights 6:30 to 8pm then karaoke, LOVE THIS PLACE!

Went in With a group of friends. Lively bar with a age group over 55. They were dancing and singing karaoke. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone under 50.

Its a real friendly place ,great food, Great Spaghetti, meatballs or sausage on Thursday nights , a lot of line dancing, and karaoke singers, 3 TVs outside patio, 3 inside, bottom line its a lot of fun being there.

Came here for my b-day happy hour. It was a very good place to gather co-workers and friends and have a few drinks. It was fun.

Its our 1st time here last week people are awesome they treat you like a family. People are friendly, fun and love the live music.👏😁

See Comstock driving by the outside is questionable but, once you go in WOW felt like at home, did breakfast and was very good , so was the service, New place for breakfast.

Menu is limited. The bar seems to have lost most of its customer base over the last few years. Get the speed channel back on the tv!!

My sister used to work here and back when I was a drinker I drank that comes back many times over friendly crowd darts pool and of course beer
