Each time I visit Fort Collins I try to make time to get a message at Amara. The staff are warm and friendly. The services are wonderful have left each time feeling refreshed and relaxed. Both Paul and Chase are amazing. Thank you all

Ive had two fabulous massages at Amara. The facility is well designed, furnished, and the staff is welcoming. Ive been fortunate to have Kendall Lockwood both times. Shes a delightful woman with experienced, strong intuitive hands. Ive had many theraoeutuc massages in my life because of multiple injuries-whiplash, broken shoulder, pelvis, wrist and ankle. Additionally, I have thoracic outlet syndrome and impingement. I always am so impressed shes able to treat all these in a 90-minute custom massage. Try her, you will not be disappointed!!

Sheila was absolutely amazing! I did a 90 minute, custom massage and every moment of it was heaven. I enjoy deep tissue massages, and Sheila did not disappoint. The pressure was amazing and so relaxing. Definitely going back! 10/10 recommend!!

From the welcome at the desk and the sense that this is a place to relax and leave stress elsewhere, it was an excellent experience. My therapist, Brittany, was communicative and receptive to my needs and addressed them in an expert manner. The space for the massage was relaxing and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Ive had an amazing experience with Amara - everything from scheduling to the massage to checking out. They are very organized, clean, and professional. My favorite massage so far has been the Focus - I appreciate being able to get special attention in an area that needs it - and I have walked out feeling relief for days and days each time!

I struggle with tension headaches brought on by stress and neck pain. Chase was able to give me the deep tissue pressure I needed to break down a lot of my tension in my neck and shoulders! This was my 3rd time at Amara and none of their therapists have ever disappointed me and their front staff is always super informative and helpful when booking and checking out. I love Amara! I have booked with Jenna July several times, who is fantastic at addressing my needs and ensuring I feel comfortable throughout the session. My typical areas of concern are my upper back, neck, and TMJ, and after a session I feel so much relief! I highly recommend Amara for anyone looking for a great massage experience. I also love how you you can choose a scented oil for your session! All the small details count :)

Amara Massage is the first place I have ever gotten a massage at where I wanted to return again in the future. I have had a handful of other massages at different places and it just never seemed like something I wanted to come back and spend my money on. The massages at Amara actually feel like they are helping me regain some mobility and improve my back function. Its sort of a bit by bit process but it really feels worthwhile. I would definitely recommend it.

I had an absolutely wonderful massage with Paul earlier this week! He was amazing and really worked out a lot of knots and tension. I always ask for a ton of pressure for massages and he really delivered! Amara as a whole is wonderful- very clean and cozy with friendly staff. The front desk is great about working with your schedule and preferences. They made sure to match my partner and I with therapists that would best suit our needs. We will be going back regularly.

By far the best place Ive ever been to. I made my first appointment when my daughter had an event at CSU and I was killing time. Theyre worth the hour drive for me to go back. My second visit they had all the notes on my preferences and were ready with an adjustable table and bolsters since I cant lay flat on my back for long. Absolutely amazing place.

Amara is my favorite place in town and I have tried many. They have multiple professionals I love to see for my massages. There staff is friendly and well-organized. Their facilities and clean and comfortable. I am glad I found them!

I received a wonderful massage from Jenna at Amara. As requested, she provided heavy pressure, a quiet environment with minimal distractions, and utilized the entire 60 minutes with focus. I loved the space and the oils, lotions, and aromatic sprays. The entire experience felt custom and I scheduled a follow-up massage immediately.

Kendall was fantastic. Less of a relaxation massage and more of a sports massage. Exactly what I asked for.

I’ve been to Amara twice for a massage and both experiences have been wonderful and soothing. I love the location, aesthetic and the atmosphere is cozy and calming the moment you walk into the building. Warm, welcoming staff, clean facility. I don’t remember the name of the masseuse I scheduled with the first time but I booked a last-minute massage with Dylan and both he and the previous masseuse had a safe, calming presence, gentle demeanor and wisdom. I look forward to going back and highly recommend, especially if you’re in the Old Town area.

This is an amazing location. The massage therapists are incredible and have helped me tremendously with a torn rotator cuff and shoulder pain in the last year. Plus you can go to mugs or choice city butcher afterwards for some food!

My husband got me a 60 minute custom massage here for my birthday. It was my first time at this place. The place is located right below the Mugs Old Town cafe—there are stairs and signage that is located between Choice City Butcher & Deli and Mugs Old Town cafe.I showed up a little early to fill out the form (asks for preferences and any health issues/concerns) and sign the waiver. The lady at the desk was really nice and asked if I would like any water while I waited. The massage itself was very relaxing and just what I needed! The masseuse, Emily would occasionally ask if the pressure was ok or if I needed less/more pressure. The warm towel compress felt really nice! Afterwards, as I was checking out at the front desk the lady up front offered a free chapstick since I was a first time customer. Highly recommend!

My first time here at Amara massage and it was such an overall great experience. The ladies at the front desk are so kind and positive.My second prenatal massage ever and a Julie did an amazing job!! Just had my first ever professional massage with Stella for my birthday and it was great! Being an anxious person who is nervous about the idea of a stranger touching me, I was definitely worried for my first time. But all the worry was for nothing and Im feeling ten times better and so relaxed. Stella is a calm and non intimidating energy for a nervous nelly like me, and I was never uncomfortable. Time to go back home and crawl back into bed now haha

I got a massage with Brittany and it was great! I haven’t had a professional massage in probably about 10 years so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect but she did not disappoint. It was so relaxing and definitely targeted towards the areas that I hurt the most. She even showed me a stretch at the end that I can do that could help relieve some of the tension in my chest. The table can be heated which was a very nice touch. The whole experience was just beyond enjoyable. I can’t wait to go back!

I’ve had massages in a lot of different places with a lot of different therapists, but Tearza and Chase are two of the best I’ve had! Staff is always friendly and want to provide a relaxing experience. I don’t feel pressured like I might at a corporate establishment. Definitely make sure you get a therapist who caters to your needs, as there are many qualified therapists here and they all provide different experiences.

I just left the best massage of my entire life! I’m currently 34 almost 35 weeks pregnant and had a prenatal massage by Amber. She was so in tune and intuitive with what my body needed. It was almost like my body was asking for what area to move to next and she would just go there! She was obviously very knowledgeable and made every effort to make sure I was in a comfortable position. It was the most relaxing and therapeutic massage. I left feeling nurtured and very well cared for. You can tell she loves what she does and takes pride in her craft. I didn’t want it to end and honestly can’t wait to go back!!

I had a great Massage with Alyse. My husband had someone else (not sure who). As far as the place/room goes, it was comfortable & relaxing100%. The staff was super friendly as well. Everyone is different, likes different things. Each massage is not the same, especially with different massage therapists. It was great, but not the best of our lives. I would most likely go back & have Alyse, but my husband said he would try again but with someone different. He said it was awkward pressure even though he spoke up about what he did/didnt like. Not sure if it was my husband, the therapist, or all of the above. But dont let this stop you from trying them out, they have plenty of 5 star reviews, & as mentioned above, everyone is different.

This spa was so beautiful inside with the sweetest receptionists! I appreciated the calming energy and dark ambience. Tearza worked a miracle on my neck, shoulders, and back. I frequent massages and spas and this was definitely a 5 out of 5. So professional and took her time on my muscles and knots. I’m absolutely booking another appointment with Tearza. I don’t think it can get any better!!!

Had my second massage ever and cannot recommend Amara more. From the quiet and relaxing welcome, to understanding therapists, it is truly a memorable, relaxing experience. Cant wait to start including this in my regular self care routine.

Im usually not one for glowing reviews but Amara is an exceptional experience. Marcus at the front desk is super nice and gets me checked in, cup of filtered water in hand, within seconds. The rates are reasonable with aroma therapy and hot towels included. Ive been worked on by five different therapists, all of whom were of exceptional quality and professionalism (personal favorite is Ashley!! Shes straight out of school but youd think shes been practicing for years. Amazing.)

This was my first massage ever and I was very pleased. The staff was very nice and passionate walking me through everything. My massage therapist Kathryn was kind and asked me the perfect questions. When I explained I was a hairstylist she gave me a recommendation that I was not disappointed with. Asked me about pressure and reminded me to breath. Everything was extremely clean and beautiful. I loved how Amara was underground it was dark and quite you wouldn’t know that you were in down town fortcollins. All in all this was an amazing experience and I’m excited to be going back to see Kathryn again next month.

Okay this was the best massage I’ve ever had. I’m obsessed. Alyse was incredible, the front desk staff were so sweet, and the facility was clean and comfy. The “extras” during the massage were great - warmed pillow, eye mask, aromatherapy. AND I was stoked that I got the full 60 minutes of actual massage (unlike some places where 60 minutes = 50 minutes of hands on time). Never going back to Massage Envy!

This place is amazing! I came because I got a gift certificate, but the prices are so reasonable! From the moment you walk in, the environment is calm and relaxing. The reception staff are so warm, friendly, and professional. I called ahead to check about what oils and lotions they use due to a skin/contact allergy, and the receptionist was so knowledgeable about the products they use there. Their oils and lotions are vegan/organic/natural, and my massage therapist used fragrance-free options on me that did not irritate my skin at all. When I came in for my appointment, reception staff and my massage therapist checked in about the products. It made me feel so relieved that they took my concern seriously and communicated about it.Amber was my massage therapist, and she was wonderful! She was very calming, friendly, and professional. She explained things very thoroughly and was very attentive to my needs.I will definitely come again!

Amara is fantastic. I found them after reading reviews for prenatal massages in Fort Collins. Brittany, Ashley and Sheila have all been excellent and have kept me feeling good during my pregnancy. I will definitely continue to visit even after my baby is born.

She always asked how the pressure was and kept reminding me to breathe. She found tension in my body I didn’t know was there! I love this place. Amber is amazing at prenatal massages and I always leave feeling better. She’s attentive to my needs, makes me feel comfortable, and really takes into consideration what I don’t like such as talking a lot during the massage. But she holds a good conversation if I do strike one up! The front desk has always been friendly, clean, respectful, and even knows what I need before I tell them. Great place and will continue to go there.

Today I went to Amara for another massage. Beau was my therapist and intuitively knew exactly what was needed. He applied the exact right amount of pressure, and performed assisted stretches with me. What was equally important to me is that Beau educated me on how I can do some of the stretches myself. It’s going to take some time for some of the work I need done, but I know Beau and Amara are in it for the short and the long haul when it comes to helping me. Was my first massage ever, and was phenomenal. Emili did a fantastic job working on my back and knees. Took out all the knots, and made it so to where there is no longer any pain or tension. Will definitely be coming back in the near future.The atmosphere alone was very soothing and relaxing. As well as the rest of the staff goes, everyone was very polite and professional.

I just received an amazing deep tissue massage from Emili. She was outstanding, really listened to me, found right where my pain areas were, and was able to relieve lots of pain and tension. Honestly one of the best deep tissue massages I have ever received, and I will definitely be back. Bit of a disappointment. Went in with two specific issues, one in my shoulder one in my mid/lower back. While the shoulder issue was at least addressed, asking for deeper pressure didn’t change the massage. And my back wasn’t addressed at all. My back is uncomfortable with pretty mild pressure, and I felt none during the three minutes she spent on it. Considering the amount of money I spent I’m underwhelmed. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was nice, but that’s all very secondary to me, and doesn’t make up for the fact I’m still in pain

My first time at Amara. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxing and well done. My Thai massage with Julie was exceptional. She evaluated my needs/wishes and was able to find areas that I didnt even know were trouble spots. The next morning, I felt great - I was very energized physically and mentally. I would highly recommend Amara and Julie.

This place is amazing! I have been going to Amara for a year or so and have always had a wonderful experience. Recently, I found out that my therapist had left and I was devastated. When I called, Marcus reassured me that they had another therapist on staff that has a similar style to the one I was working with. I was a little hesitant but I went for it. Since then, I’ve had two massages with Tearza and I am so glad Marcus gave me the recommendation! (Also, shout out to Marcus for always being warm and professional - he is the best!) Tearza specializes in medium to deep pressure which can be hard to come by. She is extremely talented and her deep understanding and thorough knowledge of the human body is obvious to all who work with her. She has super strong hands and will work out any knot you’ve got! Tearza is able to take you right to the edge but never crosses the line into uncomfortable or painful territory. I truly leave every session revitalized and feeling on top of the world. If you are in need of a massage, look no further than Amara. And if you are brave enough to go for the deep pressure, have no fear because Tearza will take great care of you!

This is hands down the best massage experience I have ever had. I had stepped away from the world of massage for awhile because I continued to have a pretty negative experience with it and had given up hope of a good massage. I was a first time customer at Amara and even just walking in knew that I was in good hands. Emili H was my masseuse this evening and I can’t give her enough praise. She made the entire experience wonderful and made sure that I had everything I needed. I cannot express how important self care is and this place is the place to do it. It may seem expensive but it is absolutely worth every penny and more. So excited that I found this place and look forward to more massages in the future.

I had an excellent visit to Amara Massage Therapy and Wellness. Everyone is super nice and helpful. Whitney was my therapist and she was great. She was very calm, attentive to my likes, dislikes, and needs, and she was very nice and friendly. The atmosphere at Amara was very relaxed and laid back. I enjoyed my visit and plan to return.

I have been coming to Amara for about 10 years or so. Because my schedule is a little weird, I am often seeing a different therapist on each visit. That being said, I have NEVER had a bad experience. The front desk staff is extremely friendly and each massage therapist is incredible!

This was the first time I have been to Amara Massage Therapy and Wellness. It was the best massage experience I have had. I called the day before to schedule my massage and was able to get one right away. The receptionist was very friendly and answered all my questions and was able to schedule me with the Massage Therapist to best suite my needs. I had a gift certificate that my son purchased for me a few years ago, and had no problem using it. I used it for my massage and for some of the wonderful goodies they have in their waiting area. My check in went smoothly and so did the check out process. There was a woman who came in as I was checking out and that woman was being beyond rude; the receptionist was very professional in dealing with this customer. Unlike some other reviews I am seeing, the entire staff were professional, kind, and helpful. Sometimes the attitude of the customer results in the treatment of the customer and this should be kept in mind if you want to have a good experience anywhere. Now on to my review of my Massage Therapist... Meredith Bales CMT was amazing! Very professional, polite, knowledgeable, and has great talent in her skills as a Massage Therapist. I like to chit-chat, and she was a delight when I decided to chat. I am going to be scheduling many more sessions with Meredith and at Amara!

I ha e been going to this spa since 2014 when I lived in Torrington, Wyoming. It was worth every mile driven.. now, I live and work just up the street and the temptation to get a weekly massage is strong!Beautiful environment that has a calming magic you cant deny. Highly skilled massage therapists who are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional.I love the weekly emails that notify me of openings - they have saved me a few times when Ive had migraines and needed help to relieve the tension in my shoulders, back, neck and... forearms (apparently?)I highly recommend Amaras team for relaxation and deep tissue, but if, like me, you suffer from migraines, I cannot encourage you enough to stop in for a session. Absolute miracle workers!There is a hotel and restaurant right above them so some noise carries down and cannot be avoided. However, once in the zone (and you will get there quick!) you wont notice a sound, you will be so lost in the moment.

Ive had acupuncture done for a variety of reasons - and was really pleased with the overall experience. Firstly, Amara is a really nice wellness center - inviting, cozy reception area, relaxing beds and awesome location right in Old Town. High end feel for a reasonable price. The staff and therapists are all really friendly and talented.My acupuncture with Jeff was a great success - not only did it loosen me up and release my stress, but I was amazed with the immediate results on a hand injury. 12 years ago I broke my hand and recently have been having some issues with it again, very sore and not being able to close my fist - after one session of acupuncture at Amara I was able to fully clench my fist with no pain.Overall a 5 star experience and I will definitely be returning to Amara for both Acupuncture and massage therapy.

Fabulous place...wonderful massage. Meredith took her time to find out where I needed the most focus. Since my neck and shoulders were really tight, Meredith worked patiently and thoroughly on those areas. She worked out the knots WITHOUT pain. Amazing. I had a massage with Dylan for the first time and honestly cant say enough good things. I didnt go in for anything specific, I was just looking for an overall relaxing massage with some focus around problem areas (stressed out shoulders and whack hips). He made me feel so comfortable and at ease. His attention to detail, by asking if I wanted a hot compress for my chest/neck and ~not forgetting about my feet!!!~ was really fantastic! I really felt like he was listening to my body and naturally spent more time on areas that were talking more. I find some therapists avoid more intimate areas (thinking chest & glutes) for newer clients which I understand but those trouble spots are usually quite literally why Im getting a massage. Dylan was super respectful and made me feel at ease while still getting into my knitty gritties. As a whole I highly recommend Amara, their entire staff is extremely kind and gentle.

I absolutely love this place! The staff is very accommodating as soon as you walk in the door (shout-out to Marcus!). I scheduled a massage with Heather, and she personalized my massage for what my body specifically needed. I left feeling more energized and relieved of pain! If you are looking for a place that is reasonably priced and just super awesome, this place is for you!

Amara is a very welcoming place, from reception to services to checkout. Bobby at the desk is a delight and does all he can to make my stay convenient. Emili is an intuitive body worker and gets right into my trouble spots. She is strong and moves deliberately but gently on recalcitrant muscles which allows them to give. I hear wonderful things about the other therapists as well. The hot towels are a nice touch that make you feel pampered. Even without them, I would say its the best. Thanks!

Over the course of my hour massage it felt as if I had traveled to multiple realms; I experienced the multiverse today.My massage therapist was excellent and very kind. The massage was relaxing and very therapeutic. I left the studio in a euphoric haze and had to readjust to reality as my soul returned to my body.

I did a 90 minute with Emili. She was amazing. Very attentive to my needs and helped explain things I could do to take better care of myself on all fronts. The environment and the entire staff were so welcoming and made it the best experience possible. I went in for treatment for severe pain but Ill return again and again because it was such an enjoyable worthwhile experience!

I had high hopes from all the reviews I saw, but unfortunately I had a mediocre experience. The staff at the front were very friendly. I arrived at 10:40 for a 10:45 appointment. I was brought back to the room at 10:50 by my massage therapist Amber. She was very kind and talked through what I put in my intake form briefly, I got ready and the massage started at about 11...and what was supposed to be 60 minutes ended up being 50. The clock said 11:50 when I opened my eyes. Every place I’ve been to in the past doesn’t typically count your talking/dressing into the massage time. I even saw the girl that went in about 5 minutes before me come out 5 minutes after me with another therapist. Amber did a great job though on the massage, just wished I got my whole 60 minutes I paid for. Additionally, the music was nice, but unfortunately there was a lot of noise coming from outside of the room...talking in the lobby, talking in other rooms, etc. so I’d recommend finding a way for it to be more quiet. I’m used to extremely quiet massage salons.

This is my first appointment in the COVID era and with Meredith. I felt totally safe and comfortable with the safety procedures. The checkin process was easy although it took me a minute to get it right. I had help with checking out so that I could leave a tip but I think that is totally automated as well. I will know better next time. This is my first time with Meredith and she listened carefully to what I wanted and delivered on it. I will be coming back!!

I just had a fantabulous experience with Caden. He’s a pros-pro through-and-through and his neck work in particular is differentiating. Treat yourself to a session with Caden. You won’t regret it!!!

I have been looking for a massage place for a very long time. I am so happy I found Amara and that I got Ashley as my masseuse! Ashley is so sweet and listens entently on what the client wants. I like her and Amada massage so much I scheduled a second appointment. Cannot recommend this place more!

EDIT: Adding to this as of 2/15/2021:Because of COVID i havent gotten to come to this place nearly as often as id like. I went today and was reminded of how AMAZING it is. Elli was again my masseuse. They are doing everything they can to make the experience as safe as possible (masks, wash hands on entrance, limited waiting area, staggered appointments), which makes me feel better about it. I highly recommend still!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I recently moved to the area and went to 2 massage places near my new home and just wasnt getting the pressure I like. I kept searching and came across Amara. Based on what I said I was looking for, the person I spoke to recommended Elli. After the first 60 minute session, I bought 3 more for myself. EXACTLY what I was looking for. I have now just gone back for my second session, and plan to continue. Highly recommend this place!

I am not typically one to get massages often. For me, it’s a “treat” to myself once a year at most. I started coming to Amara last August and have to say, if it weren’t for Amber, I would probably still only be getting massages as an annual birthday treat. I got a massage tonight from Emili. I usually book with her, unless she doesnt have a time available that works for me. That aside, it was a reminder that her massages are the best Ive ever had! I come for stress relief, because my body generally doesnt have any other issues.. and she truly relieves my stress with her techniques! I leave Amara in a happy daze every time! Especially with the work she does at the nape of my neck! Melts away all tension.

Beautiful setting in Old Town, makes Amara a true indulgence, without costing a fortune. Amara Massage is my favorite place in Fort Collins. I have only had one massage previously this this one, and as I told Emili, it was not very memorable. I was incredibly impressed with the customer service during booking, the environment upon arriving and during the massage, the professionalism demonstrated throughout. Had a custom massage with Levi. I have only had a couple of generic full body massages in the past. Despite only 30 minutes, Levi customized my massage to focus on my shoulders and neck and it was awesome! Like most of us, I hold a lot of tension there. He also recommended some great simple stretches I can do on my own. I had a medium pressure massage and thought it was the perfect amount of pressure. Also love the way he stretches your body during the massage. Who knew just having someone extend your body could feel so good! Thanks, Levi!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Amara for the first time. It was very much like an oasis in the midst if my hectic week. I had a wonderful, relaxing, and restorative massage which left me feeling at once calm and energetic. The staff were amazingly pleasant and friendly, and the appointment times were surprisingly convenient. I would strongly recommend Amara if you would like to take a moment for yourself, and melt away into serenity.

Amara is professional and demonstrating safe practice during the pandemic. Emili gave me the best massage. She uses a variety of techniques to hit sore tight areas but also is relaxing at the same time. Great place to go to relax and get one of the best massages of your life!

Amara is a secret underground lair beneath The Armstrong Hotel where some serious magic is doled out! Catie, the owner, scheduled my appointment and suggested Emili based on my request for a deep tissue massage and firm pressure. I dont go to massage for relaxation. I go to work the knots out of my muscles.Amara is cozy and calm and clean. I chose [complimentary] eucalyptus aromatherapy and settled in under a heated blanket. I like that youre able to customize the massage to your trouble areas. In this case, I elected to have Emili focus on some tight muscles instead of do a whole body treatment. When I left, my stiff neck was erased. Emili will chat as little or as much as you like, and gave me some promising local restaurant recommendations.On the way out, I chatted with the GM, Devon. Everyone seems to truly enjoy working there and it shines through in their client service. They also offer some great discounts/loyalty programs.At Emilis recommendation, I took myself upstairs to Mugs Coffee Shop after for an iced coffee and morning glory muffin. Pampering complete!

Worst massages ever!!! After getting a bone crushing, awkward, and uncomfortable massage, I will NEVER return to this place. I feel the need to warn others....it was that bad. Their employees should not be touching other people ...maybe consider a career change from masseuse to prison guard. I honestly walked out of there in a state of high anxiety.
