Woodhouse Spa - Grand Rapids

I decided to do girls’ day out; so I invited my sister and daughter to come with me on Thursday, May 23 (our appointment was at 10:00am). My first impression of the place was that it had a peaceful and calming atmosphere. All the staff were very friendly, polite, welcoming, and professional.I booked for a Deep Cleanse facial and my sister and daughter had a Holistic Pedicure. Before meeting your assigned “beautician,” you go into this beautiful decorated “locker room.” You can put on a robe and clean slippers. There’s also a locker you can put in all your belongings and lock it. Once you’re done, you go in a waiting lobby/room until your beautician comes in. While waiting in the lobby, you filled out some quick questionnaires.My beautician (Chandra? Sorry, if I misspelled your name) was excellent, professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly. I was led into a room that was very calming and comfortable. There was a peaceful and soothing music being played in the background; and the bed was very comfortable and I think it’s set at a certain temperature. It was so comfortable, I think you can fall asleep in there! My beautician recommended what to do with my face and what to use. My sister and daughter had a great experience as well. My sister would definitely come back and get a pregnancy massage.I would highly recommend going to this place for some great experience! But make sure you are ready to spend some money. My husband bought me a gift card to this place for Christmas (last year) and I finally decided to use it few months later! The atmosphere is excellent and the staff are excellent as well. Also, book your appointment(s) before going. Depending on how many people are going, book your appointments few weeks before.When we went there, the area had few parking spots left, and it was getting busy! Overall, everything was great!

My husband and I recently got 50min sports massages. My therapist was Tracy and she was absolutely incredible. We picked sports massage because our bodies were so tight around the neck and shoulders and wanted something deeper than deep tissue. The massage was intense incorporated with stretches, exactly what I needed. The interior is so relaxing and beautifully decorated. If you are looking to heal your body, look no further!

Five Star for sure! My wife and I had a get away weekend and coming here was the start of our weekend adventure and was exactly what we needed! Quiet, comfortable atmosphere and they work to know what you need and want. This is not like going to some places, where you get a massage that is one of a “cookie cutter,” where everyone and every time is the same. They listen to you and work on what you and your body need! Phenomenal experience and one we will return to for couples massages or to work on tough areas individually as they come. I would highly recommend them!!!!

Me and my boyfriend celebrated the beginning of his birthday at woodhouse we were immediately taken back at the time of arrival and made comfortable. Shyanne was my massage therapist and went above and beyond my expectations. We will definitely be back!

I sent two of my high school friends to this place last weekend for massages and they LOVED IT! I want to thank the people at Woodhouse for being amazing to me on the phone, and they were very professional. I am very happy that this place is as good as advertised. Jenna did my massage and man did she not disappoint! Best massage I’ve had in a long time. She was very detailed and hit all of my problem areas and I walked out feeling fantastic. Only down side was I did not book a long enough massage because I definitely could have had her go more. My next visit with her will definitely be longer because I haven’t felt this tension free in a long time.Alyssa S did my first ever facial and my skin is glowing! It’s so soft. I’ll definitely be seeing her on a 6-8 week basis. She gave good advice on how to get my skin where I want it! Super knowledgeable and I never knew how relaxing getting your face massaged could be!Over all the whole staff was amazing. Super relaxing environment and the mimosas were a cherry on top of my relaxing mini retreat. I look forward to coming back next month! If you’re unsure about giving this spa a shot just do it! You won’t be disappointed!

The spa itself is nice, but my experience there sucked. I think I got a new masseuse, and it definitely wasnt worth what they charge. Went for a 90-minute deep tissue massage with the scalp massage add-on. I asked for more pressure twice, and he said okay, but nothing changed. It was more of a light swedish massage than deep tissue. Then, he forgot the scalp massage and said hed have them take the charge off, which he also must have forgot to do. I definitely didnt feel and more relaxed or tight muscles loosened after leaving and felt worse even over the next few days. Ive never felt like that after a massage. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.

The facial and pedicure were fantastic! I enjoyed the quality and the gals were fun to chat with!The massage was very lacking. Ashley asked about any specific areas and I mentioned I always get a knot on my right shoulder blade from working in the dental field. She asked if I wanted to upgrade to a deep tissue massage for an additional $30, which I declined. During the massage, she inquired about her pressure level and I said she could definitely apply more. She said she had to make sure she didnt cross into deep tissue. I felt like I was being baited to spend more money. The massage felt more like a rubdown and I left with knots still in my back and very disappointed. Most Ive paid for a massage for lowest quality. Will definitely not book there again. I left this review several weeks ago with zero response.

I scheduled for a facial at 4 pm, I sat there and waited 15 minutes in the quiet room, I got told my esthetician was running late, which is life it happens. Another esthetician I think her name was Taylor, came and got me at 4:20 and said she was going to do it because who I scheduled with was unable to get there. She was very kind, apologetic about the situation. She did a wonderful job, but she went TOO fast to try and get me in before her next appointment. It was a very rushed experience but she did the best she could to fit me in. We were done at 4:45 So my “hour long facial” was only 25 minutes, I still paid full price and tipped. It’s not her fault, and I get that but it’s my experience too. But everything else was great!But David got ahold of me very promptly and handled the situation and I will be happy to be a repeat client for years to come.

Woodhouse is amazing. The atmosphere (lights, noise, comfort and set up) makes you feel so comfortable and ready to experience any one of their services. I arrived early to change, relax in my cozy robe, and sit in the quiet room and enjoy my glass of wine before we started and it was so peaceful.I was booked with Renee for the calming retreat, which has been hands down my favorite service here (I’ve had other services last year as well - a deep tissue massage, hydrate facial, and pedicure - all of which were also great). She was excellent, she introduced me to the service and what to expect during the 110 min right away, and then she just let me enjoy. Her massage pressure was fantastic and I felt truly relaxed while in her care. I felt comfortable asking to use the bathroom part way through the service without feeling like I was being a burden. Every part of the calming retreat was a different sensation/experience and she just excelled at all of them.I will definitely be coming back to see her again. Thanks Renee for a wonderful, relaxing experience.

My experience was amazing! Every detail was thought of to provide maximum comfort and a relaxing environment. The staff was friendly and warm, the spa beautiful and the massage was heavenly. I highly recommend a trip to the Woodhouse if you need self care and pampering!!

The Woodhouse Spa was beyond spectacular! It was a very calming, soothing & serene ambiance. The staff was very friendly. They provided my husband & I robes and sandals to change into before our massage which I thought was really fancy & helped us relax even more. Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful place, they offer many services unfortunately I only had the pedicure. The young lady that did my pedicure seemed a little inexperienced and didn’t really have a personality, kinda blahhhhh. I’ve definitely had better pedicures in the past. Other than that it was a great experience.

Did a pedicure this time, very friendly, atmosphere always nice and I like that its not 20 people staring at each other. Service was top scale, and turned out exactly as I hoped. Tad pricey, but IMO worth the charge for the quality and ambiance

I’m blown away. I’ve never been to Woodhouse before and immediately I was welcomed warmly and the entire building was so luxurious, I’ve never been anywhere like it. Josh, my therapist, made sure to go over my complaints before starting and he made me very comfortable. He is incredibly talented, I left my appointment so happy and pain free and I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have pain in my back and shoulders. I will be coming back often, thank you so much for a lovely experience.

I have been to Woodhouse before with a positive experience, but just before Christmas, I took my 5 daughters for a special treat. One daughter had to bring her infant because her babysitter fell through. When she arrived, she was told she could come in, but once inside, she was asked to go to a separate room, so no one else would be bothered with a sleeping baby. The rest of my daughters were asked to take off their robes and put on street clothes, so they could exit immediately after service. In other words, they didnt want to cancel (because of the expense incurred), but they treated all of us with disdain. If Woodhouse has a policy against little ones with their mothers, they need to say so, and ask us not to come in. Unfortunately, the experience was less than sub-par.

Ive gotten 3 services at Woodhouse so far and had less than desirable outcomes for two of them :(I got a manicure there a month ago, which the service itself was good, the tech was personable and did a nice job, however since Ive had that manicure my nails have been peeling nonstop. Ive literally never had this issue before and normally wouldnt blame the manicure except I had a second poor reaction to a facial.I scheduled a peel and the aesthetcian up-sold me on a hydrafacial instead. I agreed to it as I had been curious about it for a while and figured why not? Why not is that she was gonna wail on my face so bad afterwards with extractions that my face was an absolute mess for weeks afterwards. I thought hydrafacials were supposed to offer gentle extraction, maybe it did, but she came in afterwards and tried to extract every pore on my face it seemed, and aggressively. My whole jaw was so swollen after :(I will say I got a massage there that was nice and relaxing as expected, with no weird after effects. But with 2/3 of the services leaving me worse off than before, I dont think Ill be returning

Great place to focus on relaxing and taking a moment for you. The entry is immediately inviting and once you enter the back you’re greeted with ambient lighting and relaxed atmosphere, the option for a mimosa also helps with that. The robes are comfy and the massages are amazing. I’m sure I’ll be back in the near future.

Ive been getting massages for years across many places and Im glad I found Woodhouse - Theyre definitely the best.Every experience Ive had + my family has had at Woodhouse has been fantastic!! They really go above and beyond. The staff are kind, calming, and receptive to feedback. The space is very relaxing. The massage therapists are super talented & knowledgeable. I went in for several massages to manage an injury and have felt like $1M after every massage. My therapists worked hard to understand what I needed and how to customize the massage.I bought my mother-in-law a gift massage and they surprised her with a cupcake & gift for her birthday! Beyond that, she said it was one of the best massages shes ever had.Cant recommend Woodhouse highly enough.

Woodhouse Spa is an excellent place to relax. I love going there after a stressful week and winding down. The staff are super nice and very good at getting all the painful knots out of my muscles. If you work out regularly like I do, the sports massage is perfect. 10/10 will go again.

Me and my partner went for our anniversary. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing. The front desk girl was very attentive and communicative, which I can appreciate. I purchased a facial and massage for both me and him. My massage was fantastic. My masseuse did an excellent job, making me feel extremely relaxed. I purchased the hydration facial and I have to say I’m not impressed. I’ve had hydra facials that leave my skin feeling glowing and this did not feel that way. I paid extra for the extraction part and my esthetician only did about 15% of my face, and rushed that part, which is very unfortunate. The next day I experienced several spots on my face that I feel could have been treated better, to help with some of the congestion I experience from having to wear a mask at work, etc. The overall concept of this place is very well done, I think that there just needs to be a tad more attentiveness with some of the services provided, especially for what they are charging.

I dont get messages often, but this one was great. Its not just the massage itself but the people, the music, the vibe, and the setting. It was all relaxing.50 minute all body.

My husband bought me a 2 hr couples massage for Christmas. Let me tell you, it was amazing!!! The time flew by and the talented staff were very attentive & made the experience enjoyable for the 2 of us. This says a lot since my husband has only had 1 other massage (>13 yr ago) and didnt really want another one. The entire experience was very relaxing & would recommend to others!!

Every time Ive come here, the experience has been nothing short of wonderful. I always leave feeling completely de stressed. The hardest part is not dozing off from feeling so relaxed. Highly recommend

I booked my wife a maternity massage and a pedicure, she absolutely loved the service! Said the masseuse was very knowledgeable and gentle, she took her time and was attentive. She loved the pedicure, shes been trying a few places in the area and really liked the work they did here. Great prices too for the quality of service definitely recommend!

FYI Woodhouse Day Spa does not give women massages during their first trimester of pregnancy. There is no scientific literature to support a link between miscarriages and massages during first trimester pregnancies. Woodhouse Day Spa should post this policy on their webpage and ask in a questionnaire when signing up for a massage so a client does not waste their time showing up for a massage to be denied service. I would not recommend Woodhouse Day Spa for expecting mothers. If you insist on going avoid Tiffany at the Grand Rapids location.

My first time this afternoon and if I could give everyone there 10 stars I would! The ambiance, cleanliness, relaxation and my masseuse Leah was absolute perfection. I left there on cloud 9 not sure if I wanted to live there, go every week or work there!

I got the hot stone massage today with Sahara. She was excellent and made me feel comfortable. Very nice spa experience. Everyone is so nice and gives clear direction on everything which I appreciate.

Was hoping to use this spa for a Bachelorette party. There are 8 of us. They were unable to accommodate our group & would not allow us to break into smaller groups. The spa receptionist said they couldn’t accommodate more than 6 people per day for services. Okay- that seems a little weird, wondering how that even covers overhead, but I understand they are small. I asked for a recommendation from any receptionist, employee or esthetician for any spa in GR that would be a good fit, as I’m not familiar with the area yet. I was told they refuse to recommend any other spa aside from their own. The receptionist was rude & I was taken aback by the interaction. Obviously, less than helpful & we won’t make a point to seek out services, individually, based on this less than desirable interaction.

My daughter took me here for Mothers day! It was a great experience,nice staff and establishment.

My daughter and myself had booked pedicures on May 16th. One was at 9 and the other at 10. As we entered the Spa, we both felt not very welcomed. Asked our names and a few minutes later, a lady came out to inform us that the 2 week old baby that we had with us, was not welcome in the spa:-( So I had to sit in the car while my daughter got her pedicure and she had to sit in the car when I had my pedicure. I had texted my daughter and told her to cancel my pedicure, but she said I would have gotten charged, since they had my cc information. So, I didnt. When it was my turn to get my pedicure, the lady, introduced herself, asked me what kind of polish and besides that, she never said another word to me. At one point, she dug so deep in the side of my big toe, that I jumped and said OUCH! She never said she was sorry or even acknowledge that she had hurt me. I am from North Dakota and the Spa I get my nails done and my pedicures greets me when I come in, asked me if I would like anything to drink and comes back and checks on me while I get my treatment done. The lady that does my treatments, always visits with me and I always feel welcome. I tipped 20% that day. WHY, I HAVE NO CLUE!!! I feel she shouldnt have gotten a tip, but I think I was so surprised by the way we were treated, I was in total shock. I have checked the website, and I was unable to find any place that said, children were not allow.

I decided to treat myself to a massage as I had some stress tension in my neck and shoulders. It was SO relaxing! Tiffany was great. The atmosphere was so nice as well. I will definitely come back and tell friends about this place.

I usually don’t write reviews, but I wanted to highlight my positive experience. Usually I’m worried to try new experiences like this as a person of color because I’m unsure of how I’ll be treated. That wasn’t an issue at Woodhouse. I was pleased to see pictures of people who look like me, books from authors of color, and a culturally competent and diverse staff. I was running a little late but the staff were still very friendly to me and my partner and provided excellent and relaxing service. It was very clean and mindful, I felt very safe although we’re in the midst of a pandemic. My favorite was the facial. I hadn’t considered incorporating spa treatments into my regular routine/budget but now I think I will due to the pleasant experience I had. Looking forward to returning.

I am blown away at the services and atmosphere of this spa. I love this spa, and everyone there is wonderful! I treat myself as often as I can. Definitely get yourself there or get a gift card to your loved stressed out person in your life.

I was excited for my massage at Woodhouse after reading the reviews. However, my experience wasn’t as enjoyable as I would have hoped. The actual spa is beautiful, but I wasn’t happy with the attitude of the front desk woman or the work from my massage therapist. I told my masseuse to focus on my upper back and neck area as that is where I hold stress. My massage was in the evening so I went home and not long after went to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night with a very sore upper back and a pinched nerve in my shoulder blade. It took about 5 days for that to remedy itself. Just a bummer that I went in for a massage to relax and it actually caused me discomfort. I’ve had massages before and this has never happened so it leads me to believe it was the masseuse’s work.

I had four services done. I enjoyed three of them. My pedicure, massage,and facial very relaxing. The people doing my services was so nice. My manicure was not that good and I think the girl doing the service need more practice. But I will be back for a massage and facial. The pedicure and manicure services I will pass on.

For 240$ not including tip, I was not impressed at all. This was my second time and the first experience was way better. My boyfriend bought me both packages as a gift. I personally wouldn’t spend the money for two hours of someone rubbing my skin. Thought I was going to get some sort of a message but it was more like layers of different products rubbed into my skin. The staff was nice enough but not extremely personable or overflowing with personality. I was asked if I wanted a drink and I ordered a mimosa which I never received 🤷‍♀️. I felt relaxed at the beginning of the message but then towards the end it almost felt like she was following certain steps that just had to be included before my time was up. I felt rushed out and I will probably never return. Kinda sad because the building and space are very nice.Manager called me promptly and made the situation right! I 100% respect that professionalism. That’s how you keep a business open. Customer satisfaction is everything. Thank you David.

We did a couples massage with Jazmine and Kristy today. We have both had massages done at other places and this was definitely the best we have had. We will definitely be going back! Thank you for a very relaxing start to celebrating our anniversary! Loved the cup cakes!

This was my first time to The Woodhouse (my mother-in-law had a gift card and invited me to come along). The space is beautifully decorated and crystal clean. The service from the moment I walked in the door until I left was great - the robes, the tea, the friendliness of staff, etc. A really great way to unwind. I got the hydro facial and my therapist was extremely knowledgeable as she walked me through each step. The Woodhouse is a bit expensive compared to other places Ive been but you definitely get what you pay for - a luxury service and experience that will not disappoint. I would highly recommend it and I will definitely be back next time Im in town!

Services are great, but often leave more stressed than I arrived due to their POS system and accounts. Last time I called, they had to correct my phone number and my moms last name. Once Im done with the package I have, I probably wont return.

The facility was beautiful and very classy - the front of the house was warm and friendly. But my husband and I had double massages and neither of us felt that our massage therapists were very experienced, they didnt focus on the areas that we had mentioned were of concern to us. I had ordered hot stones for my husband and they were never used. And I feel like the 90 minute massages were more like 70 minutes. For $260 I was dissapointed.

Wow! What a beautiful location! I can’t think of another Day Spa in Grand Rapids that is even close. I was greeted by front desk staff when I entered the spa and was given a tour before heading to the dressing room to get changed into a cozy robe. I was so relaxed sitting in my robe in their quiet room waiting for my massage....it was so peaceful. My massage was amazing! I will definitely be going back and can’t wait to try some of their other treatments ~ I’ve started my list :)

WOW. I went here for a massage last week to help relieve some stress and I had an absolutely wonderful experience. I got to experience the height of luxury, complete with a quiet room, complementary beverages, and wonderful service. The masseuse who worked with me, Adrienne, did a fantastic job. She was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. I enjoyed my experience so much that I just booked an appointment for a duet massage to celebrate my boyfriends birthday.

I love the Woodhouse Day Spa in Grand Rapids. I have been to several local spas and so far Woodhouse has provided the best experience thus far. I appreciate the respect, attention to detail and professionalism provided by the staff. Currently, I get the Mellow Mama and I like to see Alyssa and she is AMAZING! I walk away from my appointments relaxed and rejuvenated 🙂 I would like to try other services soon such as the facials and/or pedicures.

I wish I could give half stars, because I would rate this a 4 1/2 star; so close to being perfect! I had encounters with the lovely Amy and Genie for my services: illuminating facial and Swedish massage. Both of these women were very sweet and good at what they do. The right amount of conversation took place at the beginning and end of services, which was appreciated, as I like to relax at a spa. David and Michelle (the owners) were quite wonderful and clearly love what they do! The locker room was extremely clean and well laid out. The only thing I wished for was a sauna or steam room to enjoy! Michelle offered refreshments right away, in which I enjoyed a Mimosa! The waiting area was relaxing and warm, and topped off with a lavender neck wrap while I waited and completed paperwork.For the illuminating facial, there is no steam used to open pores, etc. I’ve never had that type of facial done before and probably wouldn’t get it again (but perfect for others, I’m sure). I missed the steam :)This spa was a bit on the pricy side out of all the spas that I’ve ever been to in the GR area. Ambience was top notch, though!Favorites: waiting area, mimosa, friendly staff, cleanliness, digital and fully functioning lockers, incredible robes (if a little on the static-e side), sized sandals for comfortWish list: sauna or steam room, wasn’t asked about pressure during massage, didn’t feel like my paperwork was read fully (no one asked about trouble areas or addressed it at all).Overall: 4 1/2 stars. I would definitely return here, but there are other places that can compete as well.

Woodhouse Day Spa will be my new spot for any spa related appointments. The women who greet you at the front were super nice, the robes/sandals/locker room/changing area were clean and beautiful. They took me right on time and even had a warm neck pillow and a choice of like 6 different drinks before your massage. I did the mellow mamma 50 minute massage and Janie was so great- made sure I was comfortable and did an amazing massage- never wanted it to end! Absolutely recommend going here! :)

I had a wonderful experience at The wood house day spa! I had a massage it was very relaxing and better than any other massages that I’ve had in the past at other spas! The hostess was very nice to show me around the spa and was very nice! The whole staff that I meet seemed to be very happy and excited to be at work! They treated me like family not a client! The spa itself was very classy and elegant! I can’t wait to go back! I would recommend this spa for any type of treatment! You will not be sorry that you came here!Randall

Finally...GR has a REAL spa! The super sweet husband/wife team built a beautiful tranquil getaway. From the moment I stepped into the spa, my senses told me I was in a place where I will be pampered. The beautiful decor, smell of lavender, and the ethereal music transport you from normal life to the world of Ahhhhhhhh. The luxuriously soft robe, warmed lavender neck pillow, and herbal tea made for such a cozy start in the quiet room before my treatment. My massage was wonderful. Worked some kinks out and was such a treat. The facility was immaculate. The staff was very professional and attentive. I look forward to the many visits I plan to enjoy!!

Overall, my experience was okay. I had a seaweed mud wrap with a Vichy shower. The service provider did a good job and I felt relaxed at the end. I rated the overall experience three stars because I felt the support staff left much to be desired in terms of execution for a higher end spa. After I arrived and changed, I sat without a drink or the intake paperwork until my appointment. Other guests had a drink.I was then asked to quickly sign a form as I walked into the mud wrap room. I mention this because I was never asked if there were any areas of particular stress / attention, and it felt like a high volume approach as opposed to curated service. After the service, I was then presented with the paperwork and a glass of water and told that I needed to complete the paperwork before I left.To me, if the goal is to relax me and provide a rejuvenating experience, that means being pampered and not having to fill out paperwork during the time that Im supposed to be most relaxed.

Such a nice place!! You will walk into this spa and already feel so relaxed. My husband and I did couples massages and were very impressed. Would definitely recommend massages by Taylor, Leah or Alyssa! We will be definitely be coming back.

Some things are amazing! The setting and atmosphere are lovely. The pedicure was great but not special enough to warrant the price. Ive never had a manicure while in a pedicure chair. This felt odd. There was a fair bit of noise in the hallway during my visit from other staff.

So impressed. I’ve never had a massage, but my wife has had several. We did a couples massage for our anniversary. It was amazing. She says it’s by far the nicest establishment she’s been to. It was very clean, everyone was so nice and you can tell they have it figured out. Defiantly going back there before our next anniversary.

I treated myself to 5 hours at this beautiful spa today and it was absolutely incredible. From the lovely reception staff that greets you when you walk in, to the beautiful facilities and amenities, to the luxurious treatments, everything was perfect. While all of the treatments were wonderful, I can’t recommend the Minkyti facial enough (especially with Amy)! Thank you for a very nice “treat yourself” day Woodhouse!

I cannot say enough about my experience at Woodhouse! After my first massage there I knew I needed to take my mother for a special spa day to celebrate her retirement. When we arrived we went to our separate services and I notified my massage therapist that I had just found out I was pregnant and my mother was unaware. The massage therapist sadly told me that due to their policy, I could not have a massage until 14 weeks, however she went and got her manager who promptly came in, congratulated me, and went out of her way to ensure that my secret was kept and that my spa day experience was not ruined. They set me up with an essential oil soak instead of the massage and snuck me a gift card to return for a prenatal massage. When I went for my facial the esthetician was also already aware and ensured me that everything was baby safe. The whole day went off without a hitch and my mother was none the wiser!!!The staff at Woodhouse has consistently met and exceeded my expectations! I cannot wait for my prenatal massage!!

This was the BEST spa experience I had to date. The attention to each detail was impeccable, the staff were calm and helpful, and the environment was truly set up to be therapeutic. Upon leaving, I also received a gift from the front desk staff. I got home to discover a swaddle and outfit for my new baby - what an unexpected, personal touch. I will certainly return!

I went with the Lazy Day experience and it was perfection. It started with getting my own locker and changing into the coziest robe and shoes. Onto the quiet room, where tea was waiting by my name along with a lavender neck pillow.DeAndre was so sweet, the scrub, the seaweed soak, the massage — not to the mention all the tiny details made this entire experience special.Highly recommend using the waterfall shower in the locker room, it was the perfect end to an amazing morning.Such a great experience and addition to the neighborhood, I’ll be back!

I received a gift to go here for my birthday and well the massage was fantastic the pedicure was far from that. The nail tech rubbed a dry scrub on my legs that felt super abrasive and not relaxing as I felt sand paper was being rubbed on my legs... normally a scrub is used on wet legs. She kept digging her acrylic nails into my skin. The stone massage was exceptional but for $60 there is nothing special done. I didn’t even receive hot towels like I have at other salons for half the cost. I then had to walk back to the relax room in my greasy flip flops from the lotion. My toe separator moved causing my big toe to become smudged (not sure why they don’t have dryers in the nail room). I recommend the massages but steer clear of any nail services. I am really disappointed in my pedicure I would’ve rather used the money on a longer massage.

Not pleased. Purchased a Valentines Couple massage for our anniversary and gave it to the wife. Used the massage the other day and when checking out they said we owed twice what we paid. They said that the Valentines Couple package was priced per person. Couple of issues with this.A - Who prices a Couples package per person?B - Who issues a gift card for a couples massage that only covers half the bill? Seriously!C - Who doesnt tell you what the actual package is going to cost.D - If I paid for the services separately the bill would have been way less. So the package was a rip off.If you want a extraordinarily expensive massage that is mediocre this is definitely the place for you if not then you can literally go ANYWHERE else for a better experience.

I’ve been visiting this particular Woodhouse Day Spa since they opened a few years ago. I’ve always had a wonderful experience, from the attentive service to the amazing treatments. However I’ve noticed recently that they’ve completely changed the services and treatments they provide, which is disappointing. I’ve always loved the Woodhouse Escape package, the Lazy Days Renewal Ritual, and always came in for Reflexology Foot Massages. Why did these services and prices change when they were so popular before? Now I can’t even book Foot Reflexology without having to pay full price for a Body Balancing (Swedish) Massage. Unfortunately, because of these changes, I may be looking for a different place to relax.

I booked a stone massage for my bff and myself for a late bday present. She had Taylor as a masseuse and I had Lydia. From what my friend said, Taylor was great. Lydia was amazing!!! We were so relaxed and ready for a nap after the massage. Everyone was so kind to us from the moment we walked in until we walked out. We are already planning what services we are going to get next (and it will be soon !) thanks again to Taylor, Lydia, and the rest of the staff for a great and relaxing time.

I had a minkyti facial with Amy and it was amazing! My skin is so soft. I felt super relaxed afterwards. I was slightly congested before going in and that’s gone now. So good. There was a nice comfortable place for me to wait. The changing room was very clean. I was greeted with smiles by every staff member. Amazing experience!

I have been a fan of Woodhouse for 15 years! Beautiful new facility. Staff very professional. Massage was wonderful! Key code locks are great. Lavender neck pillow preset with name plate was a nice touch! A couple of suggestions. 1) have the information sheet filled out before ladies head to the quiet room or provide cheap readers there. Once the eyesight goes, it is difficult seeing the form, especially in the tranquil lighting, but staff was very helpful! (🙂) 2) provide product (lotions, spa wrap towels, etc. ) in the dressing room so they can be sampled, which encourages a sale and is always nice to use when freshening up after a shower. So glad to have a Woodhouse in GR.

I got a massage from Adrienne and a facial today from Lindsey and it was absolutely amazing. I love Woodhouse Spa!!!I will be back next month for another massage and maybe facial.

I have had numerous massages at different locations around Grand Rapids, this experience being far different. It did not leaving me feeling as if it could have been better “if”. It’s so wonderful to have a great spa in the area that is worth your time and money. I’ve had massages at other Woodhouse Spas in Michigan and with Woodhouse, they are always hands down the best. One isn’t just splurging for some pampering here but truly experiencing improved health! I always leave rejuvenated and when I’ve had neck pain, I leave without it. I appreciated that at this Grand Rapids location, I was once offered a small discount due to a Facebook promotion, even though I wasn’t aware that the promotion was occurring. That is rare in business! I look forward to further visits and checking out additional services.

I cant rave enough about my experience at The Woodhouse Day Spa. Their facility is beautiful with clean, relaxing, and intimate rooms. The expert staff was friendly, accommodating, and professional. I had the Hydrafacial and it absolutely did wonders for my skin. I would 100% recommend this place for skin treatment and/or an excuse to spoil yourself.

I had the Signature Seaweed Leaf Pedicure and it was one of the most luxurious experiences of my life! From the plush lined robe to the massage chair to the hot stone application, I felt truly pampered for 80 blissful minutes. Stacy, who performed my service, was friendly and experienced - and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I will go back to try more services in the future!

The reception area has a lot of colorful stuffed animals that just seem really out of place for an adult spa. Once I walked back to the locker rooms and spa waiting area it was very professional and relaxing. Everything looked clean and well equipt. The massage was good. Not the best ive had, but a good first experience. The one thing I did not like at all is their check out procedure. They do not have automated or paper tip options so the person running my card was asking me out loud how much I wanted to leave as a tip. Without having the charge amount right in front of me I didnt even know how much i owed. Kind of unprofessional and clunky process.

It was awesome! Ive never had one before but, my Swedish massage almost put me to sleep (thanks Ashley)! The atmosphere gives you a feeling of such decadence! The merchandise in the lobby was cool too.

A beautiful spa. The only hiccup was a scheduling conflict (we couldn’t get the therapist we wanted at our original time) but they resolved it quickly and professionally. Woodhouse is my favorite spa. The massages are top notch, they have fantastic skin care experiences and I love the pedicures. I am going back the end of this week again for my quarterly Woodhouse Hydrafacial and reflexology massage. The big decision is should I have wine or mimosa :)

Came here for a pedicure on my birthday. It was delightful! The ladies that did the pedicures were so polite and conversational, and the whole experience here was relaxing and just what I needed after a long week! I will definitely be coming back!

Once again, EXCELLENT service never fails at the Woodhouse! I went in today and was greeted by the lovely Lisa and the super sweet owner. Its nice to see the owner there who by the way is a hardworking lady. Shes hustling back and forth but her makeup is flawless. I wonder how she does it🤔Anyway, I received the Vichy Shower treatment by the AMAZING AMY. Yes, her hands are pretty freagin amazing! She goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and that you have the BEST experience ever. SIDE NOTE: If you decide to book a vichy shower or facial you HAVE to book it with AMY. Shes VERY good at what she does. Just sayin.... Then Andrea the GREAT gave me the greatest 80 min massage ever! After I was finished with my massage and came down from my blissful Cloud 9, you know, back to earth with no stress, no tension and my skin feeling softer than a babys bottom. I headed over to the relaxation tub room. For my final treatment, I soaked in a nice hot lavender scented bathtub with dim lighting, soothing music, and a chamomile hot tea by my side. Of course, the bath soak left my skin and back pain feeling great. It eases the tension and softens the muscles. Very nice.😌If the Woodhouse Spa is not on your list as one of the places to visit in GR, youre seriously missing out....Cantwait to be back soon!😎

This is a great place. Ive had massages and a pedicure before. Fantastic! My pedicure was awesome. Polish stays on so long! My manicure was not as great. They do a dry manicure which didnt really get my cuticles cleaned out and that was my main reason for getting a mani. The person that did it was amazing but the technique wasnt ideal. Other than that, best in the aread.

This was the best thing to do after a long work day! I received the Minkyti Facial, and it was the most relaxing 80 minutes. Kayla did a wonderful job! I also want to add that I felt so safe doing this during Covid. They provided a specific mask, so I could still feel safe, and get the facial. The soft robes and glass of champagne made the experience even better. Thank you again!!

I’ve been to the Woodhouse spa on three occasions. Each experience was amazing. I had a hot stone massage yesterday with Soli. . She asked me if I had any specific areas that needed extra care. I did and she worked that area longer. I highly recommend Soli and the Woodhouse spa. They treat you like royalty the minute you arrive. I feel amazing today.

Callie at Woodhouse was AWESOME! I had never done anything like a Vishii shower before but Callie explained everything really well and made me feel super comfortable. The whole experience is incredible from start to finish. As someone who doesnt often do things for himself? This was amazing.

I tend to be overly picky about spa services but loved my experience here and looking forward to having more services in the future! I called Saturday evening and they were able to get me in the next day and everything was seamless and smooth!I held my breath a little because we had been having mostly sub-par service at multiple places around the city and my last minute appointment had a lot of room for error, but no mistakes were made and they exceeded my expectations! So this is a very pleasant review to write!After a stressful day, I called asking if they had any facial or massage openings available and if so, Id take them. They immediately called back (even though it was nearing closing time and could have easily brushed it off), and the last opening they had open was at noon, the time they opened but also the exact time I was hoping for. After taking some intake information they instructed me to arrive about 30 minutes for my appointment. When I got off the phone I questioned it to my husband because they showed on google they were open at noon. I shrugged it off and did as requested. Once again, I found myself holding my breath as I went to open the door and it was open! Small but somehow significant when there has been lack-luster service elsewhere. Someone came in to the front desk area just then and got me checked in right away. Every experience after that was very pleasant. They brought me to the robe station where they had everything from smalls to 3x+ (which Ive never seen elsewhere) and shoe specific sized flip flops, it all felt very tailored to. She showed me how to use my locker and then there was place cards and drinks/neck wrap awaiting in the quiet room, noticing and loving all the little touches they are putting into the service. I cant recall the name of the esthetician I had but she was so friendly and a pleasure to chat with! I usually am pretty quiet during services but she was very easy to talk to and clearly enjoyed what she does.Not only was all the service aspects great, but the little things they carry in the spa guest shop are superb as well! Im very loyal to my Circadia brand but found lots of things to get, much to my husbands demise, lol. Ive been interested in shower bombs lately but wasnt impressed with the Lush ones and Woodhouse had some that had three different variations to choose from and, what seemed to be, a pretty smart delivery system to enhance the product/experience. I also tried their lavender shea body cream - this stuff worked so well I had to take a nap in the middle of the day! My skin was thirsty after lots of showering and being in the hotel pools so I applied some of this and the lavender was not messing around with its calming effect! The neck pillows are great, they have lots of great jewelry (they even tried looking up what metals they were for me when I asked about it for allergies and she went online and called to try and find out - awesome customer service skills, thank you!), just lots of fun things here.TL;DR - If you like a spa thats worth the bang for your hard-earned buck with some fun souvenirs, try this place out! OUTSTANDING customer service skills!

I have been getting facials by Amy V for a couple months now and ever since, I get so many compliments on my skin! I just recently started my series of Hydrafacials and I am already being told that my skin looks so flawless. She really knows what she is doing and I am so thankful I found this spa. Their staff is so nice and knowledgeable, the facility is GORGEOUS, and they use great products. It is definitely worth the money! Make an investment in yourself and visit this place. You will not be disappointed!

Unfortunately, my experience with the nail services have not been good. I had shellac removed, and then new shellac put on. During the service, the experience took a very long time. The technician also sanded down my skin multiple times, rather than simply focusing on the nail. It was very painful and took a while to heal. Now, the shellac has been removed, but my fingers and my nails are experiencing a lot of pain. They are very sensitive to touch and I cannot put much pressure on them, which is inhibiting every-day activities. More than that, I have a bunch of razor thin lines at the end of my finger nails that are red, which seems to me that they are filled with blood. This sensitivity has lasted for about 3 weeks.I tried to share this experience with the company, and they were not communicative with me about how they might fix the dis-service I experienced.Because of this experience, I will not be coming back to your nail services and I will not be able to refer friends.

If youre looking for a relaxing preparation time with tea, then come here. If youre looking for a massage, I would spend elsewhere. The massage itself was mediocre at best. Hit a few pressure points, however, the total pressure was lacking. Ive had better massages for $50 than what I spent here.

Average pedicure at best. The staff is lovely, as is the building but I think it was a glorified $30-40 pedicure. Nothing different than what I could get at any nail salon. The massage was ok, very little pressure. The most disappointing thing was that afterwards they take you to pay instead of letting your polish dry and just said to not put your shoes on for 15 min. So I left in the thin flip flops they provide and had to walk across the slushy/wet parking lot. Kind of ruins the work they just put in.

When I walked in I felt welcomed, I received a massage which was great, I felt great and relaxed after it. I also got a pedicure which was amazing. After these service I felt so happy and relaxed I most definitely will be going here again.

I went to interview here as a massage therapist and called twice after setting up an interview and they never called me back to set up my practical (giving a demonstration of my massage skills and training). I found it extremely unprofessional that I recieved no call back whatsoever and that they didnt even take the time to see my skills before abruptly deciding not to follow through.

Omg, by far the best spa in Grand Rapids!! This is my new spot. I come here quite frequently and aside from having the great relaxing music, atmosphere and services, their staff is so welcoming and eager to please guests with great service. I know many spa goers like myself, that look for spas with steam rooms and saunas which is always a plus at any spa but the Woodhouse has a Vichy Shower! Hands down, way better than a sauna or steam room. I went to the Marriott because of their steam shower which had a great steam room with eucalyptus scent but quite honestly, I disliked their facility. They have 6 lockers, 1 bathroom that has a very difficult shower to work, no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion. Unfortanately, I felt that staff was not very warm or approachable. The ambiance was more like a cold hotel feel. If you like the hotel feel that may be a place for you but I personally look for spas with a luxury feel that have dim lighting, relaxation room, comfy soft robes, sandals, clean lockers, bathrooms that smell fresh and of course great serviced. The Woodhouse has all of this. I found this spa because I had bronchitis and a terrible respiratory chest cold and desperately needed a treatment that would help me breathe. Im so happy I decided to visit the Woodhouse spa because my bronchitis cleared up and the seaweed exfoliation treatment left my skin feeling silky soft. So yes, I highly recommend visiting Woodhouse spa. They have great services, awesome staff, luxury warm spa feel, and the owners are great people. I love this place! You wont be disappiinted. :)

I have never been more let down. I scheduled 2 services for 2 different people. Ive worked in a salon for years so i knew what i was asking to get done was going to be alot when i scheduled. So i confirmed 4 times and had the person on the phone repeat it back to me twice.....i drove an hour away to be told they only scheduled one service for both of us and that they close an bour later so there is nothing they could do....not a single person out of the 4 employees just standing around tried to fix the problem. I will never go here. I will be letting everyone know not to go there. I am just baffled we were prepared to spend around $600 total between the 2 of us but apparently ur business doesnt care. Thanks for ruining my relaxing day. I hope u guys learn to communicate better this was unacceptable and an extreme let down.

This is a fantastic spa! Everything is great from the people, superior customer service, and clean beautiful facility to the amazing services offered. Enjoyed a deep tissue massage, which was an actual deep tissue, unlike many other spas in the area that claim they offer this service but then the treatment ends up being more of a relaxation massage. Glad to have a spa of this caliber in the area.

The facility is lovely and the experience was relaxing but I was did not receive the deep tissue massage I scheduled. After speaking with the owner she offered a different therapist at no charge. I appreciate that she went the extra mile to satisfy a client.

I came in and got a deep tissue massage and agave nectar pedicure and both services were wonderful. It’s such a relaxing environment. They provided me a mimosa and warm lavender neck wrap and that was awesome!

Very disappointed, I was to receive a lift and firm for 90 minutes. Instead got a anti aging for 50 minutes. I also paid for a derma for $20 more that was even put in the 50 minutes. The only difference between the two was the time. I was shorted 30 minutes but still charged for them. I did finally get reimbursed but I wanted the time all together not HAPPY.

The atmosphere was nice, but the massage lacked pressure. I think I would have been better off getting a medical/sports massage at a chiropractors office.The massage I got from Woodhouse was deep tissue.

Today I went to The Woodhouse and had the 50 minute Mellow Mamma Massage. Kali did an amazing job. I explained to her Im hoping to relieve some of my sciatic pain and it has been relieved. The heated table, the hot presses on my hips, complimentary tea were all delightful surprises. Kali checked in with me on pressure and explained during transitions. I felt cared for, comfortable and relaxed. Kali did such an amazing job that I booked a deep tissue massage for my husband with her next week. Thankyou thankyou thankyou for mellowing out this Mamma. My family thanks you too. 😉🤗

Absolutely enjoyed my facial followed with a hot bath ! Excellent customer service ! Robes are very nice and comfy ! Atmosphere was very relaxing . Very clean ! If you haven’t already, you need to make time and go visit and relax . You will not regret it !

I really wanted to love this place and I will say the staff here is very friendly, greeting you with smiles from check in to check out. My problems lies not with the staff more with there policies and execution of it. I made an appointment for a deep tissue message and when I disclosed I was 20 weeks pregnant to the message therapist I was told they could only preform there “mama” message. This message was a complete disappointment as I have a knot in my right shoulder causing headaches and this message did nothing to help relieve that pressure. This policy is noted no where on their website. My second and third services were a mani/pedi combo where the mani was preformed in the same chair as the pedi. I left this place extremely frustrated and will not likely be back again.

Wonderful experience. The place was tranquil, inviting, and comforting. I had the deep tissue massage and pedicure and still am in shock at the quality and cleanliness of this spa. Will return.

Kylie was my massage therapist. Very professional. Always asked if I was comfortable or if the pressure was too much. Ill definitely go back again. Very calming atmosphere.

First off, you need to make the reception area smaller, and have your new guests fill out the new customer paper work in the reception area, not in the same area as the relaxation area, which is not conducive for filling out paper work since its so dark, not to mention the fact that mixing people who are trying to relax with people coming in for the first time, is not a relaxing situation....too much traffic in an area that is meant to be relaxing...AND the relaxation area is WAY too small, with chairs and sofas that are NOT comfortable at all.....then lets talk about the mens changing area...AGAIN WAY TOO SMALL. a tile shelf to sit on to change?? REALLY?? COMFORTABLE, NOT!!!!! ONE shower???????? if there is more then one person in the changing room you could not take a shower at the same time???? Then lets talk about the actual massage....WEAK at best.....I have had massages at many different places...the massage therapist was way too conservative to massage my upper leg/thigh/hip????? REALLY???? She saw I had surgeries on my feet, and said OH NO, YOU have owies?? What am I, 3 years old???? THIS PLACE IS A JOKE OF A DAY SPA, AREAS ARE WAY TO SMALL, NO REAL RELAXATION AREA,,HORRIBLE CHANGING SPACE, AND WEAK MASSAGE THERAPISTS. STAY AWAY, NOT WORTH THE MONEY, AND IT IS NOT CHEAP!!! I went due to the fact that a dear friend purchased gift cards for myself and my partner for holiday gifts....WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!! SAD, BUT NOT A BIG SURPRISE, typical Grand Rapids establishment, trying to be big city, but cant get past being run like a DUTCH owned business...

I tried the spa for the first time with my mom and niece. We had mani/pedis and I also booked a facial. I specified I wanted to address lines and have clearer/smoother skin from the facial. The facial was quite disappointing- no extractions or exfoliation and a packaged mask was used (similar to one you’d buy at CVS). Overall, I didn’t see any benefits and wouldn’t recommend the facials.

Always a relaxing and luxurious experience at the Woodhouse. They go above and beyond to ensure total relaxation while also providing excellent services!

Everything was just lovely. Relaxing atmosphere as soon as you enter. I enjoyed the Classic Spa Day which includes a facial, massage and pedicure.They really know how to make you feel special!

This was overall a really nice place. Everything is clean and well kept. The staff is very friendly. The pricing may be a bit high for what yoh get but nothing major. My only dislike was how crammed the quiet room got. It was not relaxing sitting in there.

We went here for my birthday. We were told over the phone that we would be put in robes for our spa manicures that cost an arm and a leg, but were not. And for as much as we paid, its ridiculous that the polish chipped the very next day...

Delightful experience, celebrating a friends cancer remission. A little pricy for regular visits, but a very nice special occasion gift. Should be able to offer all sizes of robes......
