It was a Friday night and we arrived a minute before 9pm and got in for free. Bouncer even commented that we JUST made it in, because cover charge begins at 9pm. We thoroughly, enjoyed the musical talents that evening. We had already eaten dinner elsewhere and had drinks elsewhere, so it was just nice to enjoy the music with other patrons. We would enjoy going back if ever in the area again!

Unfair treatment to the fullest. The female bartenders upstairs were extremely rude. One of them made a joke about the dj upstairs being terrible. I went downstairs to the piano bar, and it was very evident the piano player was lacking vocal skills. I went upstairs to joke with the same bartender about it, since she had already been bashing her own establishment, and she took offense and kicked me out. She opened that environment to joke about that and then flipped 180. The bouncers even said they were being extreme. I understand their point of everyone trying to make a living, but I would have never even made a comment like that if she didnt put it in the air. I meant no disrespect at all

Love the piano guys show and the service is quick and serves great drinks! Does not serve food, but people are welcome to bring their own from the number of surrounding restaurants. Saw some people bring in sushi from just around the corner that looked delicious. Sushi, long drink, and live music sounds like a good night. If you’re interested in dancing there’s a club upstairs too. Mix of college kids and young professionals. Seems like a place that has little bit of everything for everyone.

I would love to say this was a good experience but it wasn’t. We arrived before the $5 cover and sat and had a total of 3 drinks in 4 hours. My friend went to the bar to get a drink ( oh and she was drinking white claws all night) and the bar tender decided she would not serve her because she supposedly fell into a table (this did not happen). I went up to the bar to get a drink and was told our table was cut off, I asked to talk with the manager who came over and then the manager said we were no longer welcome to stay because she trusted her bartender and because I questioned her bartender we needed to leave. Then 3 people proceeded to follow me to the table and stand there till we left. Personally I believe it was because they had a line of people who were waiting to get into their establishment for $5 each. We went to The Foolery and asked the bar tender to please assess our mental state and 2 different bartenders said we were not intoxicated.

This place is an absolute blast! Highly recommend anyone visiting the area, check this place out. The staff are laid back and friendly, the musicians are very talented and really know how to work the crowd, everyone was having a blast. We spent like 5 hours there hanging out, left for another bar next door and had one drink and went back haha theres a night club upstairs, but unless youre under 25 years old, you should probably just stay downstairs and give the piano man $20 to play some piano man.

Lexi is a rude manager. I asked for a second lemon drop upstairs and they didnt know how to make it gave me a vodka shot with a lemon no sugar on the rim. I simply asked where is the sugar.. she handed me a Splenda package.. the lemons were so thin and I asked for more with sugar on them And she laughed at me. I took the lemons and walked to my table. Lexi came to me saying I had to go for being rude.. I was not rude just wanted my drink correct. She escorted me and my bachelorette group out the door cuz she said I was rude. I was not rude until she was rude to us! Lexi is incapable of a supervising position.

Easy enough to reserve a table. When we arrived, we were carded (as expected, Im 21 but look 19) and the host at the front took my ID and started at me for a good minute, looking at me like I was trying to get in with a fake ID or something. It may have had to do with my recent weight loss and hair color change, but I doubt it. Male staff and bouncers were incredibly rude and standoffish, refused to talk to us when we had questions, we had to look for one of the female wait staff in order to figure out what was going on. It was our first night club scene and we were confused as to how things worked.Waitress was very helpful and polite, food was fantastic and relatively inexpensive, around the tune of $10 for an entree. I highly recommend their Margherita flat bread pizza. Mozzarella sticks left more to be desired but Ive definitely had a lot worse.Live music was fantastic, they played a lot of 60-70s classic rock but they did play some Fall Out Boy and they do take requests.Mixed drinks/cocktails tasted cheap and watered down, but the shots were pretty good. Bartenders were nice but a little unprofessional, talking about/making fun of what I assume to be other employees. My friends and I went to go dancing and the upstairs didnt open until 9pm. We went upstairs and there is a small dance floor and a DJ whose music was so overpowered by techno-beats that you could scarcely make out what song was being played. We were honestly a little disappointed with the dance floor but all in all we had a good time. Ended up leaving at 10pm to walk around GR in the rain because it got boring. Probably wont be going back, except for maybe the pizza and the pianos. Definitely wont buy any mix drinks/cocktails again.

We went to mojos for my birthday last night. We saw a comedy show before and then went to mojos and after my boyfriend embarrassed me on stage for my bday he got cut off with no explanation other than he “tripped” walking up to the bar and was “singing”… I’m just curious what a bartender expects at a piano bar? No singing allowed? The “manager” (I’m assuming) was a blonde curly/frizzy haired chick who apparently had it out for my boyfriend bc there was no reason for him to be cut off. Super pissed this “manager” decided to ruin my bday night… we weren’t drunk yet and we can get drunk!! Mojos, y’all lost out on a lot of money last night so good job👏🏼 (also my bf spent $40 on piano songs and she kicked us out before we could even hear them and wasn’t reimbursed. Sounds like a promotion is on its way 😬) And it sucks bc my bf was the one that had been wanting to take me to mojos for a while and now we never want to go back. Sucks. You guys have potential. Get less rude staff for real.

We got kicked out because we made a request to the DJ. The DJ was being extremely rude and was playing the worst music I’ve ever heard. He was very cocky and thought he was doing well except the floor kept thinning out within an hour 3/4 of the people left because the Dj was playing music as if we were in 2012. That DJ has no self awareness and 5 of the 20 people left in the bar were kicked out because of this DJ. Mojos has become a bar for 30+ crowd with this type of music and the lack of respect for the people creating revenue has become extremely apparent.

He even said it could be real but he didn’t like it. No line, no wait.Do places like this not have a way to check IDs? Just leaving it to personal biases?I am 26 and have never gotten my ID rejected until tonight. Wondering what was up bc my friend that I arrived with was let in with an out of state ID no problem. The manager of the bar was very rude ; thought she had control over her guests and the time they could come back to the bar, although we paid for the alcohol and entry. IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN OR USING MILITARY ID, DO NOT BOTHER GOING!The following occurred Friday night, 9/1/23. Myself and a party of about 10 other people were out when we decided to go to Mojo’s. Many of us are military and/or from out of town. We were all prepared to pay the cover fee of $5 per person, but the bouncer raised it to $15 (perhaps that is their standard procedure for larger groups, but idk). Then, when he saw our military/out-of-state IDs, the bouncer declined to let any of us in. Keep in mind that all of us are in our late 20s/early 30s (aka we do not look like children). When asked why he didn’t like out-of-state IDs, the bouncer simply stated “I just don’t like you.”Fair enough. I just hope they dont treat all military members/vets like this.

Tipped $4 on a $4 drink so the next time I went up I didn’t tip on my $3.50 beer and the fake blonde with a upper lip piercing told me not to come back to the bar - don’t worry I won’t. This is definitely a once time experience place - it’s not necessary to come back when the bartenders are rude townies and they charge every person a different entrance fee depending how you look - I sat next to the door and watched the older lady charge a different fee for almost every person.

Overall it was a good time. It was a little beaten up in a little rundown. Kind of reminded me of a college town piano bar, which in and of itself is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Staff was fairly friendly the musicians were talented and witty. The only thing that I will say that was burdensome is that we had seats directly adjacent to the bar because we arrived a little bit late and all the seats were full so we had a constant inconsistent view down the back side of the bar watching the staff work. And there were numerous times where staff members would literally get down on all fours or almost lay completely prone on the floor looking underneath tables and the bar to find whatever may have apparently dropped. Then immediately proceed to stand up and serve drinks to guests with not so much as a wiping of the hands let alone throw hand washing. That was a little bit of a put-off for us we just did canned beverages so we were able to mitigate any overall concerns by being able to wipe the cans down before we drink. It didnt seem to bother the patrons which of course in general had limited exposure to viewing this as the drinks were flowing consistently and all night long. Overall a good experience and if you get there before 9:00 there was no cover

This is a great place to stop for some brief entertainment. The scene here was just too busy, too crowded to enjoy, at least on a Saturday night. The musicians were 100% great and did a great job, and I enjoyed listening to them meet the needs of the crowd. The main floor staff did a relatively good job of keeping up with drink orders as well. The second floor was a disaster, and we turned around when we hit the top of the stairs.

My first and last experience at this place. It’s dubbed a piano bar, but the main attraction is upstairs for the club scene. They barely leave any room for people that want to dance downstairs where the band is.Their bar is terrible, and the service is terrible. They have a pretty decent selection of beers on their menu, yet they don’t keep any of it in stock. Also, what kind of mismanaged place allows all of their kegs of the 6-7 taps to run dry?We opted for cocktails, which were fine. They seem to like to take half full drinks away when you’re not looking so you have to buy more. Pretty good scam to be honest. The only good thing about this place is the band.

The downside to happy hour is that it ends at 7, but they dont start playing until 8, so we usually get there just before happy hour ends and order about 5 rounds of drinks. There is also no cover when you get there early, and you can get good seats. HORRIBLE, UNSAFE & DIRTY OPERATION. I would never recommend anyone come here unless you’re trying to get drugged and trafficked. A horrible incident happened and management failed to act accordingly. Makes me wonder if the manager has something to do with the drugging of girls drinks since they failed to act on a serious report… does the owner know about this situation or are they in on it too? Drinks were amazing and the crowd was even better. Cool atmosphere and the piano players are for sure outta this world. The only complaints I have would be the piano area got WAY to loud, for such a small place they could consider turning the speakers down a tad also, they could definitely turn the heat up. I know my roommate and I tapped out sooner than expected because we were both getting headaches and shaking because it was so cold, and we werent even very close to the door. However, we then decided to go upstairs to see if it was any better and the crowd and DJ were awesome. It still was a tad cold but nothing you can do about that... Biggest complaint though. NO DRINK MENUS UPSTAIRS! I was pretty shocked by that because they had drink menus everywhere else downstairs. Also have to ask for a food menu from the waitress or look it up on your phone. Overall, I would for sure return just some things they really should consider fixing they are pretty simple fixes.

Really cool place, not many places like it that I have seen. The songs requested were often generic, but that is the fault of a generic crowd, not a generic bar. The pianists were anything but generic. They were very energetic and kept the bar alive with their music and the games they incorporate. The crowd also appeared to be on the older side of bar-goers, though its definitely a suitable place for people both old and young. Service wasnt terrible but wasnt the best - I arrived at a very busy time of the evening but after sitting with my party for over 20 minutes and not being asked if I needed a drink I went to the bar...and still waited almost 10 minutes to be served. Prices are very reasonable. What really killed the mood for the evening was a very poor experience with the manager. I have worked in several bars and never before have I seen a manager who belonged working in a bar less than this individual. If you cannot handle working with people who have been drinking, than you should stay away from working in a bar. The entertainment was amazing. Its a mix between comedy, karaoke, and live music. If you are REALLY shy, you might not like it because they make you participate and if you dont they make fun of you. ALSO dont text or be on your phone close to the front because they will make fun of you. The beer on tap doesnt taste good here, I heard from a friend they dont clean their lines enough, so stick with bottled beer or mixed drinks. Extremely disappointed at my experience at Mojo’s. They clearly state that they are open until 2AM on the weekends both on their website AND Google, yet we were literally kicked out at 1:35AM to stand in the bitter cold while we waited for our Uber. We weren’t even drinking, just trying to stay warm waiting for our ride. What was more unnerving was to see one of the main “bouncers” physically pull a drink out of another woman’s hand. If you plan to be closed by 1:30AM then STATE that online and on your website. It’s a quick fix. I said this to one of the bartenders on my way out and she replied in a snarky, sarcastic tone “I’ll make note of it”, which I know she won’t. I’m extremely upset at this service and how we were treated. I know COVID has been tough on businesses but do NOT be misleading about your hours. That’s on YOU. I will be following up on this post and letting others know. Do better Mojo’s.

The Bartenders are very friendly and will take good care of you, but the music is really hit-or-miss. Upstairs, they play remixes of pop songs with whatever form of EDM was most popular 3 months ago. Its really enjoyable if youre wasted- embarassing if you just came here to dance. The drinks upstairs are cheap, but dont get anything too fancy or complicated. Drinks are for getting drunk here, not for tasting, just get vodka and a nice chaser. Downstairs its a little different. The music is okay but it suffers from a lot of the same issues. The real draw is the price and the staff. Safety-focused and friendly, the staff seem to really care about their patrons and the bartenders get to you quickly. Honestly, this is enough to call this an excellent place to get drunk. I just wouldnt expect much more.A nitpick that doesnt affect the score- Even compared to other clubs, Mojos is just really noisy and attention-deficit. Essentially Hell for ASD people like me. This would be fine for me if there was anywhere in the building where things got quieter or calmed down, but you really cant escape it. I handle it fine enough if I stay close to my wife and friends, but I cant say the same about anyone else who has problems with excessive noise or a crazy atmosphere. I personally, would think it would be really, really cool if there was an atmosphere adjustment for the downstairs while the upstairs got even more wild. Right now, the downstairs is even harder to handle for me.

Very cool and hip place but severely mismanaged , lots of concerns and red flags ( I just tried searching online to see how I could contact the owners but without luck so here I go). Staff wasn’t trained promperly :First table In the building on a Saturday and the server approached and asked what we wanted after sitting awhile . She never gave any type of drink menu fir us to review , after we asked for drink menus for a party of 8 she brought back three for us to share . ALL taps were down along with four additional drink items on the menu ( completely out of). Staff knowledge of drinks id rate at a 0. The waitress actually today someone at our table that a Reds Apple Ale ( they didn’t have bit was on the menu ) was comparable in flavor to a Killians. Another guest ordered a drink on the menu under the red bull section which also states Red Bull’s in this and the waitress came back with a half full glass with everything in it BUT the red bull. When we asked her about it she first said it wasn’t included , then when we showed her the menu she said she can’t help how the bartenders make the drinks . Rude , short, unprofessional. Wanted to order food ( again first table in and only people inside )!gave three menus for 8p to share and order . Orders messed up and the comment made that the kitchen was at fault and that we could just remove the toppings ourselves ( let’s use common sense that food allergies are severe and not a simple dislike in this case). When drinks got delivered without limes the waitress brought them back in the palm of her hands and set them In out drinks . Watched guests entering the bar and noticed five different cover charges in the screen ( It didn’t bug me as some vats waive fees for special groups like bridal parties but a white male was charged 3.00’s and a few people back a black male was charged double ($6.00). I’m a white remake abs was very taken back my this . Horrible service and horrible drinks continued all night . We stayed because the piano players rocked and engaged the crowd!! Thought it would be a cleaner , classier place . Very concerned giving my credit card to the waitress for a tab ( this is a huge liability and horrible practice ). Anyone could see by card sitting out and my account could be compromised . Them holding my ID should have been enough to run a tab . When we received the bill we NEVER received an itemized receipt !!! Just a receipt that said we owed $120.00 for two people ( way overcharged confiding we came fir happy hour and the waitress told us all the drinks would be half off. These are the kindest comments I can leave but lots of major violation concerns that could shut the bar down.

It was a normal bar with college atmosphere. Had no issue with service besides the fact I had to give ID with card when starting tab which was a first for me and made the bar lose a bit of its class. All class left the place for me though when I requested a song outside the normal Billy Joel, Elton John tracks and asked the pianist if he knew it before requesting and tipping my 10 bucks; he said yes. 2 hours later, leaving the bar, made a joke to pianist”wish I heard that song” and he said it was too difficult to play it. He walked past probably 10-15 people before he approached us, and didnt say a word to anyone else. If I could leave zero stars I would.A wonderful night to celebrate turned into a terrible experience because of one manager. She definitely put her staff in a terrible position.A group of family and friends are getting together for my nieces 21st birthday. We made a reservation for 15 to enjoy dinner, drinks and dueling pianos. Being a birthday I arrived with a gift for my niece. I was stopped at the door and told I could not bring the gift in; I explained it was for a birthday and asked to speak with the manager. The door guys were very polite and apologized and I was told to wait for the manager. She never took the time to speak to me face-to-face and just shook her head no through the window. I offered to take the gift back to the parking garage but the doorman said I could leave it in the entranceway and they would keep an eye on it. A short time later a couple of my nieces friends brought the exact same gift and were allowed to bring it to her at the table. Now I was upset but there were two new guys at the door and I thought it may have been an oversight. The entertainment and our waitress were absolutely amazing so I let the gift situation go. Towards the end of the night my niece felt like she was going to get sick and headed for the bathroom. Before even getting sick, my sister (her mother) met her in the bathroom to take her home. The manager confronted them in the bathroom and explained that they would need to leave immediately and escorted out the back door. This seems excessive and the manager was very rude about the way she handled this. Her mother requested to go back to the table and grab coats, purses and belongings and the manager denied them their request. One of the girls had an open tab and the manager allowed her boyfriend to sign and claim her credit card. She was very alert and coherent so upset about this. As I was leaving the bar I asked for my gift, that again was being watched by the doorman. The gift was gone and I was told a man had taken it. I asked to speak with the manager and again she refused to come speak to me face-to-face. It was only after having to call the police and file a report that she finally came out for my name and number. She apologized halfheartedly but it was too little too late. She has no business being a manager and obviously couldnt handle an establishment like this especially on a very busy night. All in all our night was ruined by one unexperienced unprofessional manager who was way over her head.As an update, my sister wrote a very well worded letter to this establishment the following Monday with concern about the manager. The response that was made was absolutely appalling and they should be embarrassed. The scathing letter told us we were not invited back and was signed “Tootles!”

Down stairs dueling pianos -5 starsUpstairs DJ - 1 star. Very lame. The upstairs was great. But the music was bland, boring. Every song sounded exactly the same, dull bass beat with no real tune.

The only downside to this amazing experience is that they are not serving food right now. Great entertainers and atmosphere. Go early for good seating!

The atmosphere is electric with she variety from a fresh 21 year old to the 60s. Ive never had a bad time at mojos. Fun place to drink and dance.

Piano guys were good, local bar atmosphere with friendly bartenders. Other floor staff telling us to GTF out if the way while waiting to get drinks was uncalled for.

Good players, but high priced and crowded. $20 for bohemian rhapsody minimum or they wont play. My friend was denied entry due to her dress being camouflage. We changed and came back, wish we hadnt.

Visited for a friends bachelor party. Upon entry, I was separate at the door from my friends for about 10 mins because there was enough room for them to enter, but not me. Then once seated a waitress spilled a cup of water in the table drenching not only me but my 2 phones. She proceeded to apologize to everyone but me (although I was the only one who got wet) I will not be returning to this establishment.

If you havent been to MoJos youre not missing a whole lot. Downstairs seemed like a decent place to hang out and a bit more chill. Upstairs was a bit of a mess, poorly lit, loud music and pricy beer. So if that is what you are in to go right ahead! But not quite my cup of tea.

Absolutely the most unprofessional and horrible management I’ve ever witnessed. Racist and rude. Truly horrible people. Awful atmosphere, awful food, and an all around awful experience. I will never be going back. Edit: they threatened to sue me for libel AND slander because of this review. Don’t ever ever ever support their horrible business practices and disgustingly unprofessional management.

Puke all over the urinals. The security will gladly let you in for a $5 if you are a minor. Terrible generic music & over priced drinks. 0/10 would recommend this God awful establishment. People snorting drugs in the bathroom. Probably the most overrated establishment in Grand Rapids.

Fun party atmosphere. The piano guys are very talented and keep the drinking audience very entertained. The menu is typical bar food. Prices are expected.

Tbh I wish I could rate this place worse. Im from out of town and visited quite a few bars this was the only bad experience. They literally assaulted my boyfriend for trying to use the bathroom FIFTEEN MINUTES before close. I highly advise anyone going to a bar not go here, theres so many other good options around.

The bartender tried to stiff me my change. Handed her a $20 for a five dollar drink and stood there as she kept skipping over me and taking other orders til I made it obvious I wasnt leaving. Finally got her attention and she acted psuedo surprised and gave me my change. Saw her do it to someone else later that night too.

This place is terrible. The bartenders pick and choose who they serve to. If theyre not your friends, they dont serve you. I literally had one of them come up to me and tell me that he heard one of the other bartenders didnt like me, so he wasnt going to serve me.

Horribly rude bouncers wouldnt let my boyfriend in for an improper uniform and completely embarrassed him. We had one night in GR and were treated terribly. Went back to the concierge at our hotel and were told that Mojos never does this. It wasnt even 9pm.

This place is ridiculous. Went there for restaurant week every bit of the food they brought out was cold. For the price they charged for the meal and drinks I could have gone to a real upscale place. The music was terrible. Dont bother wasting your time or money you will come home hungry and disgusted. All they do is push the drinks there.

Uncomfortably loud. Had to yell at people sitting next to me to be heard. Service was a little slow but the food was good. A fight broke out. I was there a whole hour and a half and it wasnt even 9 yet! Lol!
