Happy hour 4-7pm menu is very limited: 1$ beers: bud light and miller. $5 mix drinks, yet got charged for house manhattan $15. Music became very loud, we left and not coming back.
Recently visited them for the second time and my card was charged by them twice, first for the amount I had to pay, and second for a higher amount than what I was billed for. Tried to call them but they dont have a line reaching to the bar directly, hence I have put a chargeback on the wrongly debited amount. My experience at the bar was great.
Bartender was attentive to start, but quickly lost interest. Food took quite a while and to be honest was underwhelming. The buffalo dip was luke warm at best and my mid-rare burger was well done.
I recently visited GreenRock Pub in Hoboken, NJ, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Lets start with the food. The menu boasted a variety of options, but the execution fell short. The appetizers were lackluster, with the mozzarella sticks being greasy and the wings lacking flavor. The main courses didnt fare much better; the burgers were overcooked and dry, and the fries were soggy. Overall, the food left much to be desired. The service was also subpar. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, it took an unreasonable amount of time for our orders to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive. Our server seemed disinterested and inattentive, making the dining experience feel more like a chore than an enjoyable outing. Additionally, when we did finally receive our meals, there were several mistakes with the orders, further adding to our frustration. As for the environment, it was equally disappointing. The interior was outdated and in need of refurbishment. The ambiance was lacking, with dim lighting and minimal decor contributing to a rather dull atmosphere. Combined with the mediocre food and service, the overall vibe of the restaurant was far from inviting. In conclusion, I would not recommend GreenRock Pub to anyone looking for a satisfying dining experience in Hoboken. The poor quality of the food, lackluster service, and uninspiring environment make it a place to avoid. There are plenty of other options in the area that offer far superior fare and ambiance.
Service was really good, food was…bar food nothing to brag out and atmosphere was okay. Definitely for a younger crowd
Worst experience! The bartender gave shots to her friend on my tab. Took $93 for 2 beers and when we tried to address it, nobody took the responsibility. Fraud.
Green Rock has been on my list of places to check out in Hoboken ever since my BF told me that they had BOGO burgers on Wednesdays nights (starting at 8pm). We showed up at around 8:30 and the place was pretty empty, despite the burger special and the live music that was going on.I had the California Burger (mayo, avocado, bacon, american cheese). I ordered it medium-rare, and thats exactly how it came out. Thats usually hit or miss at a lot of burger places but Green Rock got it right. I subtracted a star because the only option for buns was an English muffin (which Im not a huge fan of), and the fries were meh. Still, BOGO is a great deal and Ill definitely be back on another Wednesdays. They have great specials on other days, which Ill be sure to check out as well.
The “bathroom” guard i don’t know what she is but she is disgustingly rude & unprofessional. Why would i ever recommend green rock if they hire anyone?? I was walking out the bathroom with my friend and out of nowhere her and im sorry to say this but this Mexican bouncer (i don’t know his name but i don’t know how else to describe him so you guys can know ) grab me by my shoulders and push me out with such a force the bouncer outside Bernard caught me because he pushed me so hard. It was so disgusting, rude & unprofessional. I genuienly been trying to think of a reason as to why she & he would grab as such a way because i was already on my way out but i definitely won’t be recommending this place & will tell everyone i know not to come here.
I would’ve loved to give this place place more stars as the bartenders were truly amazing, but the bouncers were very rude esp, Frank!!! I felt they don’t have experience hosting an international crowd and were a bit off. Suppose you are planning to have a good time go next door ugly Irishman bar- where you will be treated as a human being. They lack basic training in hospitality.
Owner is unprofessional & disrespectful ! Security don’t know what they are doing & don’t know how to de-escalate any situation and barely know how to have a conversation ! Place is messy ! I will never recommend this place to anybody !
I recently visited the Green Rock Tap & Grill in Hoboken, NJ and had an amazing experience! The place exudes a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. I was thrilled to discover their fantastic happy hour deal of $1 domestic drafts, which made my visit even more enjoyable. The highlight of my evening was indulging in their mouthwatering $7 pretzel, which was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was top-notch. If youre in Hoboken, dont miss out on the Green Rock Tap & Grill for great drinks, delectable food, and an overall fantastic time!
The food was amazing, everything was fresh and the salad was the best. We had a entire dinner with mozzarella sticks, two burgers (excellent size) with salads on the side and extra size of French fries. Also we drunk two cups of coke and two cups club soda. They also offer a beer per dollar, that was cool too.The customer service was good
Delicious food, amazing burgers, and the place have a good vibe. the only thing is that buying everything through the app was tedious and not personalized at all, and after you use the app and proceed to pay the app suggest a tip, 🙈 why should I tip if I dont have a server? I just hope that the tip is for the kitchen staff and bartender. But in general its a good place.
Fun bar to go to. Been here with my friends twice and weve had a good time. Its a bit loud, so I wear concert earplugs when I go. Its right next to the train station, so if you have to take the train out, you can have fun until just a few minutes before the train leaves. I definitely see myself going back at some point while Im still in the area
Nice bar to enjoy a few drinks however one of the securities is very aggressive and made us stand up from where we were sitting for no reason. I will not be returning.
This place was super busy in a Thursday night but that’s not why I’m giving one star I love that for them. I walked in SOBER getting ready to meet with friends. I stood there for 10 minutes while the bartender just served guys even new guys and just completely ignored me. Then I ordered Casamigos and pineapple. And when I say they water down their alcohol I mean I drank water and pineapple. It was disgusting. I’ve never been to a bar that waters down their drinks before and that explains why they use Casamigos as their house tequila and only charge 6 bucks because it’s mostly just water. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for drinks. Not a single soul. However I would gladly recommend the less busy much more friendly and not watered down Texas Arizona which is just around the corner.
If you even take a glimpse at a bouncer that are on the benches inside, you are done this one 5’11 with locs… will have his ego hurt if it looks like your talking about him. 🪨 if you have melanin watch out, I dead felt discriminated.
Sunday brunch was absolutely splendid. Not only was my adorable bartender Brittany a peach but the food was to die for! Service was extremely speedy and my eggs were cooked just right! I especially enjoyed my “basic AF” cocktail! Will be back soon for a fantastic brunch AND live music.
Taco Tuesday has half priced tacos which was great! They have plenty of TVs which is nice to catch a games. The menu can be a little pricey. They have trivia every other Tuesday for specific topics!
This place is located in the historic terminal building and is just a few steps away from the Path station. Due to its close proximity to public transportation and really nice happy hours, this bar is always packed and attract so many people. The bar has an authentic antique bar decor which gives it a look of early 1800s.This is one of the best spots to enjoy drinks with friends. This place has one of the best happy hours in the hood. They have Tuesday specials with Yuengling and Coors light for a buck, but they also have cover charge which can be sometimes five or ten bucks. The place is always packed on Tuesday. The layout of this place is such that one will definitely bump into people while walking past the bar to go to the back side. The DJ was nice and played everything right from 80s, 90s to current pop music. The servers were nice and attentive.
1$ beer night on Tuesdays are the best!! The music was okay, but id appreciate it if they play a few more hip/hop songs over vanilla ass pop they play with every 4/5 songs. Otherwise, no complaints
Went here after the Halloween pub crawl, waited in line for over an hour and were rejected at the front door because we had pub crawl wristbands. Had somebody notified us that they weren’t accepting pub crawl participants we never would have waited in line but it is absolutely ridiculous to reject anyone without proper notification especially since we had one drink the entire pub crawl. The manager even acknowledged that we were sober but still refused our entry after waiting. They will not be receiving business from me or any of my friends ever again.
Went to Green Rock today, bartender and waitresses were great. Went there to watch Rutgers football game and to honor all that were lost on 9/11. I worked in the south tower 84th floor and was having drinks in remembrance to all my friends who perished on 9/11. Then, out of nowhere, the owner turned off the Rutgers game, and told my wife, son and I that we had to leave our table, no warning or explanation. What a way to run a business, I guess he’s only interested in making his money one day at a time. I will never go to that place again, but I know he doesn’t care !!! I hope your business goes bankrupt!!
Their yuengling beer tap is contaminated!!!!! Me and my friend who drank from this tap on dollar beers night became extremely ill. Neither of us were intoxicated. I only had 2 beers. Non stop throwing up became severely dehydrated. This place is disgusting and dirty. If any place is offering dollar beers it’s too good to be true. This place should be shut down by sanitation and I’m reporting them to the city.
This place is a lot of fun. Nothing fancy, just pure good atmosphere, a good DJ that spins electronic, top 40s and dancing type of music. The bartenders throw napkins on the air, everyone gets on the back dancing floor and drinks are reasonable priced. Friday and Saturdays are the best nights!
Not an LGBTQ+ friendly bar at all. Had a inhumaine experience, and when talking to the manager about it, he admitted his policies and rules weren’t fair but wasn’t going to do anything about it. He refused to give me his name or the name of his staff members, and said if I wanted to know their names I should call the police. Don’t waste your time here, the vibes aren’t even worth the stress.
Great location, amazing prices and magnificent DJ spinning songs. Happy hours are just $1, the best deal that you can get in Hoboken. The bartenders are friendly. Gratuity is damn on the higher side.
This place is alright. The food is good and they have a variety of drinks for a decent price. Tuesday nights would be the best cause of the 1 dollar beer, but it just gets too over crowded. Because of that, the service gets slow which is understandable, but still Cmon I just want my drink!
Good music, good ambience and a dance floor, if you are a college going student this the place you wanna be . Really a lit place on the weekends , you get cheap drinks and they do offer a $1 beer too and I think that’s really cheap for a restaurant on happy hours too!!
If you are looking for cheap beer and decent food, this is the perfect place! The best thing is that it is just outside the Hoboken path station. I have been to this place three times now and I noticed that the quality of the food is not consistent every time I visit. But still a go to place on my list!
Sure, this place can get insane on the weekends. But its a hidden gem during the week. $1 mugs, 5-8 on weekdays, with $1 mugs all night on Tuesdays (which is an insane night). Wednesday is very underrated - buy one/get one burger night. Awesome staff, very friendly.
This is the definition of dive bar. Went 3 times and the bartender knows my name and my girlfriends name. Wings are excellent and so are all the apps. Havent tried the burgers yet but they are next.
This bar is NOT LGBTQ+ friendly. A good friend of mine who has short hair and dresses more masculine was dragged off the platform that girls were standing on all night. She was then dragged out of the bar by one of the bouncers, for which the manager said they absolutely profiled her as a male and will continue to do so. When the bouncers were asked politely why she got kicked out they proceeded to then drag my other friend out for no reason. We were not violent at all. The attached photos were 2 of the bouncers involved, 2 others also being involved that I do not have photos of.
I could eat wings and drink beer with my friends all day long but they start blasting the music at like 6pm and it becomes impossible to hold a conversation unless you are in their face. I dont mind the club scene but there is no warning about it. Some days music starts blasting at like 3pm and others its like 6 or 7pm. How much we spend is heavily dependent on when the music gets annoying.
Super crowded. I was here the day after Halloween, dressed up with my friends. After an hour of dancing with friends some random guy started asking me to leave for no reason, when I declined he asked the bouncer to kick me out, which he did immediately.
Dont expect to get a table soon if you walk in after 7.30pm on game days or weekends. One of the nicer places in Hoboken to enjoy a drink while supporting your favorite football/ice hockey/basketball team (yes, they have a lot of sports on at the same time).
Disrespectfully got kicked for NO APPARENT REASON. Pretty sure they took me for someone else. When I asked why they just aggressively pushed me out.Been there before, never had any problems. But will never be going there again and make sure I let all my friends know.
Great environment even when your drunk
Cozy patio, beautiful interior, awesome happy hour. This place may look like a hole in the wall bar but it actually might be the best kept secret in Hoboken! A definite don’t pass up!
FRAUD!!!!!!!RIP OFF! So, I went to Green Rock a few Sundays ago, I had 5 beers between me and two of my girlfriends and was charged $88! I have a very hard time believing that their beers are $17 a piece, especially Bud Light! When we left we were in a hurry, so I quickly signed the tab and hopped in my Uber. On my ride home I processed the amount of the check and realized I had to have been mischarged. So I attempted to call Green Rock. No answer. I emailed Green Rock and questioned the pricing, got a reply to call and ask for Katie who works every day 11-3. Ive been calling every day since and Katie doesnt answer the phone. I e-mailed back the only person who was somewhat responsive and was told that shes the only one who can help. Initially I was curious, now Im getting increasingly frustrated. To overcharge, to be aware of the overcharge and become unresponsive to the customers is a poor way to run a business. Will never return.
Great place for happy hour. They have $1 domestic (10oz size) beers. Great price and great atmosphere, although it can get a bit noisy on the inside.
PROS: This place is a huge magnet for people my age and they have a full bar and dancing for those who like thatCONS: This place is overpriced, messy, and cramped. Literally shoulder to shoulder in a tiny bar made me leave within 10 minutes. They should only allow a certain amount in and not because of covid, but because its impossible to even walk aroundOVERALL: There are other bars in the area you can go to, and unless its early this isnt one of them for me...unless you like crowds like this
Great service! Crowded but in a good way. The drinks are also good. Different sports games on at the same time. Pretty good size place. Everyone is friendly.
Incredible vibes and energy. Insane dancing energy. Good music. It never disappoints. Go see Photi, the Greek god.
Great place for drinks. Lots of bars in the area .. good place to hangout.. their happy hour and $1 beers are bomb
Weve been there for drink ona Tue night, so I cant comment on the food. The staff was very nice but they have made a mistake in our order even though it was only 2 drinks and the order took too long given the fact they just had 2 other tables to serve.
The female bartenders are so mean, they only serve men, always skipping over girls. Don’t go here if you’re a girl.
The best Bar in Hoboken of all times legendary, a lot of fun stories comes out of this place. Food fantastic, great people. No better place to go. Totally worth to wait on line.
Got kicked out for doing absolutely nothing wrong. Was with my friends, none of which did anything wrong, and got “randomly” kicked out by several bouncers.Even when getting kicked out did not obstruct anyone. Also random cover based on who ur with
Worst bar experience I’ve ever in Hoboken or NYC area. One bartender was great and one was an absolute embarrassment. Would never recommend. Save your time and go to another bar.
I go here for their .50 wing nights and B1G1 burger nights. Both are some of the best in Northern NJ. They have plenty of beers on tap, and kudos for having genuine Guinness. Weeknights, they have $1 coors or Yeungling taps. If youre watching a game here, you might want to bring earplugs cuz the sound system is CRAZY.
Britt is an angel, probably why my experience was so holy... All in all best brunch Ive been to in a while. French toast rolls are tight AF.
It was was good pace great service and thank you Jake you were vary helpful I recommend 😁
Disco fries were okay. Not a great deal on the beer and drinks but the bartenders are super nice. Nice decor.
I absolutely hate the crowd here it feels like your at a college frat party. The only pro to this place is that week days they have some good drink specials.
Favorite college style bar, extra pack with good music on the weekends. Its a little tight in there, but if thats your scene youll love it.
Always a fun place to have a drink with friends, good food as well, my favorite DJ Ivan El Patron plays during the weekends.
Wasnt there for a long time. However, when I was there it seemed like a good place for college students. The only thing was the floor was covered in dirt. Not normal floor dirt but more than that
This place is great, the atmosphere is perfect, food is delicious and the staff is wonderful (Sean the bartender is a super stud! I heard he used the be on the show american gladiators)
The main draw is the weekly happy hour between 4 and 7. Other than that its a straight up sausage factory.
Amazing place, went there for their happy hour specials. Great place if you want to chill with friends and bar food!
Incredible specials (dollar beers M-F 4-9) and a great time. Gets crowded fast and music is way loud.
Good music, and great atmosphere so its a good time. Gets crowded and hot and drinks were eh though.
Always a good time with great happy hour prices. Welcoming feel when you walk in and some of the best burgers in town!!
Its a dive that offers a club scene on weekends. If youre an adult Id say go for convenience near the path if you have to. But if you expect anything beyond a convenient dive you will be disappointed.
Customer service is not exceptable. Bartenders are rude and have no manners. They could learn to speak and respect the customer when conversing with them.
$1 beers til 8.incredible deal ! Food is very good, nice crowd and good music.
Jerome is amazing he found my keys and returned them to me without any inconvenience! So grateful for his soul ♥️🙌🏽🌙
Fun and clean. The bartender was super nice and knew how to make drinks
Dollar beers on Tuesday nights, Great music, a and someone always new to meet or introduce yourself there. Great crowd
Bouncer told me I have a weird accent and I need to go away when Im Ukrainian. Cant let that go, and never going back
Never seen a place so crowded on a Tuesday Night! You get a beer for $1, what more do you need!
Tuesdays are the best 1$ beer night is were its at,good music and good people
Good Happy hour deals. They also have a rotating happy hour food menu which provide great bites
Great specials and staff. Clean establishment. Plenty of tvs and cool patrons. I dig it.
My friends and I call this the napkin place because they always throw napkins into the air later in the evening. Makes it very fun.
Great food amd cheap beers. Service could have been a bit better.
Love green rock been going there for nearly 6 years the people are great drinks price are good
I would say the service is at 3 , but the food is at 3 points, I advise you not to go to it if you have more options for rest
Great drink and honestly one of the best atmospheres for a fun time!
Not so good. I would not recommend you to go there unless you are looking for an 1$ mug beer
If you’re a woman that has short hair and doesn’t dress feminine, prepare to get kicked out.
Fast service, great cocktail and beer selection. Very packed on Saturday and football Sundays.
Disgusting place to go. Rude bar tenders, rude waiters and rude bouncers. If youre looking to get discriminated against this is the plans for you.
Good place but the bar tender charge me 100% of tip and I have to claim it.
Amazing collection of draft beer and Tuesday happy hour is awesomeeeeee
Great spot for drinks, however gets very crowded near the front bar at night.
Best Saturday night Ive ever had!!
Great location, service excellent, food devine! Love the skinny fries!
Cozy. Run down. Good seating options for larger and smaller groups. Good service.
Great food and drinks. Awesome staff. Super attentive
Good drink spot for late night and outside section when the temperature is warm.
Good place for cheap beers. Very loud music after 7pm
Great tasting food though portions were a little petite.
Had a great time food is great and it does not hurt your bank
Great crowd and great prices, but relatively small for a bar in Hoboken
One of the best bars in Hoboken
Dollar beers on Tuesdays, gets a little crowded but still a good time
Extremely cheap happy hour, and friendly staff.
Best happy hour deals in Hoboken. Definitely try the wings.
Pretty awesome happy hour prices. Good times
Hostile bar environment and to crowded. Always fight here
This place is great on football sundays. Wild and crowded though
Sunday funday here is incredible! Never been to a place like it.
Fun vibe for watching sports, can get extremely crowded though, something to keep in mind.
Great place! Great prices! Great food! AWFUL service.
Nice bar, the barman recomended places to visit and restaurants

Every time I️ go there they over charge me and when you call them they never pick up the phone

Was very crowded due to NYE but overall good experience with music and food
Good happy hour and fun karaoke
A little cozy but its a decent waterfront bar
THE BOUNCER KEPT HITTING O NV MY GIRLFRIEND . WHEN I ASKED HIM TO STOP ... HE WAS A FAT OLDER WHITE GUY .. GROSS
Young crowd. super loud. super crowded. $1 beers tho is legit
Serves its purpose. Fun place for happy hour.
Would like it better if it wasnt so crowded.
FUN FUN FUN AND MORE FUN!!! The food and drinks are good as well!!!
Bar tender being so racist and he should have treated people equally 😠
Drinks are cheap food is abismal. Do not eat.
Good spot if you like dancing.
Excellent beer list, great staff.
$1 beers everyday now
Cant really beat $1 beers on Tuesdays
Awful place, got choked and thrown out by security for literally nothing.
$1 beer Tuesday is the best!!!
You will always have a great time.
