Way more beer selections than you see anywhere else. And quality beer (Duvel, Chimey, Founders) and all the local beer (maui, kona, lanai, Aloha, waikiki), and organized by all the varieties (lagers, ipa, sours, stouts, anvers...). My new go-to local chinatown/downtown bar.The food is also awesome! Great selection of flatbreads and pupus! The live music is also a huge plus! And they have private rooms for larger parties!
When this bar first opened, it mustve had the most expansive beer selection in the state. I still think it boasts a pretty large selection of beers to try. Whats more, they have a nice selection of pizzas to snack on while imbibing the various bottles of beer available. The location of the bar is convenient for downtown office workers to grab an after work drink. But, its a great hangout for those coming into Chinatown as well. The area has improved a bit in the last decade due to the recent gentrification thats been taking place.
Bar 35 is a good time. The staff is solid especially Stepanie and Rachel. The food is clutch when you need a quick fill at the halfway point of the night. If you go, give Rachel a hard time for me.
13 different homemade dipping sauces for your hot seasoned fries...enough said! The Kimchee Mayo frightens me but you cannot go wrong with Fresh Garlic Aioli or Miso Mayo.Live bands play every Thursday and theres an all day/night happy hour on Monday with decent happy hour times for the rest of the week (T-F: 4-9 pm & Sat: 6-10pm). DJs on the weekends.Cool hip vibe inside. I mean, who doesnt luv life-sized hipster cats gracing their walls.
Always a vibe, just hot and the cigarette section is stifling. Usually free except 1st Friday. Younger/ college type, diverse crowd.
Completely slammed with customers. Gotta anticipate a crowd on St Patricks Day. Waited far too long for a drink. Only one bartender.
Worst service I’ve encountered in my life. I was ordering a drink with my gf at the bar while sitting on bar stools and the bartender had the audacity to take my gf‘s seat away while we were ordering. Do you understand customer service? Trashy, rude, and not even worth it if you’re a wasted 20 year old. I used to love going to Bar 35 back in the day and I can confidently say I will never step foot in this bar ever again. Watch some YouTube videos on service
First time here and very surprised how spacious it was, mind you it was around 8pm on a Friday night. They have open layout with bar seating and high tables to hang around, no seats in the front area. Walk to the back to find a private room and tucked all the way in the back is another bar in an outdoor patio setting. Seating was comfy with bamboo trees and the open night sky. BF and I had the nachos and edamame which was more than enough for two. Drinks were awesome, not sure on prices or happy hour but all in all wouldnt mind going there again. Heard the pizzas are good but after the pupus couldnt order anything more. Pictured is the Kalua Nachos
For Halloween they were supposed to do wristbands to get into any bar for $15 and when I went they charged me $20 to get into the bar and wouldn’t give me a wristband to get into another bar so I wasn’t able to do the bar crawl. Waste of money. Manefist is better
Love this place. Great vibe and ambiance. Music are great and the drinks are better. The service could be better. This girl name Sydney with brown hair and shes really slim was extremely rude. We asked her for a drink and she completely ignored us. She then reply once we got her attention that shes not making the drinks for my friend. I just dont get it.
Really enjoyed our night here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The doorman was even polite which is rare at bars/nightclubs. The patio out back was the best with good music and drinks. Get there early for a comfy seat! This is definitely the best bar in Chinatown.
There was a bit of a line and I believe the cover was $10 or $15. Not a huge place - decent sized. Couldnt really taste the alcohol in our drinks and the music was less what youd hear on the radio, but pretty chill. There was even a man playing the drum as he walked around, so that was interesting! They have a couple VIP areas in the back and a smaller patio area with cute umbrella decorations all above your head.
If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I came all the way from Florida and they treated me super bad. I went there to party at night and the security guard was extremely RUDE. I had to pay cover and everything and they told me that I had to do a huge line again just because they wanted me to. The guy was sarcastic at all times, I would never go back to that place again!! Worst “night club” in Hawaii.
Lead bartender was super awesome and attentive. Food was delicious and service in general was great (with good happy hour specials). Good chill spot to hang out - only hung out at bar, did not go to patio.
Good beer selection, non-draft that its. I think like 5 taps for the draft selection. Decent pricing for the beers. Weve visited a few times now and the draft menu seems to rotate a steady variety of beers.Food here is better than expected especially for bar food. The lumpia is good. The wings are good too. Ordered twice baked. Pizza is nice too. Really thin crispy crust and it all had good flavor.Theres a couple tables and a decent length bar. Theres another bar in the rear thats outdoors work seating and another area indoors for seating with more tables.Service is good but when it gets busy the servers are not set up to handle the work load causing waits to build up but I guess it is expected all considering. Aside from that they are very friendly and helpful. If youre trying to come on the weekend get there early because not only will you hit a cover charge after a certain hour but you will also find yourself standing and not at a table.Theyve got a DJ that starts at like 9 and typically plays a variety of music trying to please the whole crowd. Lots of dancing and drunken drink spilling going on on the dance floor area. The mens bathroom is useable and I dont recall the wife complaining about the womens one, so must be acceptable as well.Parking is strictly street and paid city parking lots so be prepared for that. You may be hunting for a spot for a hot minute if you get to town too late. There are a bunch of bars and eateries all around this area so its usually pretty poppin especially on Friday night and the weekends but we tend too have a good time and might out when we come here.
Food was good. Drinks were a bit odd. They had a ton of happy hour options for great prices, but every vodka drink was super sweet. I love beer but figuring out what beer was available was a lot of work. Seemed like they had 100 beers available but I ended up getting a Guinness because it was easier.
Too many underage girls, I approached one and it turned out she was 15, come on bouncers !!
The staff is awesome! The food is pretty underwhelming except for their fries are awesome. Regular and sweet potato fries are great. You dont go here for the food... I hope. Wednesdays has a trivia game night. The host at this one is a million times better than at other trivia nights other places.
It was a cool lounge spot in Chinatown before the vaccine mandate. Friendly staff. Decent beer selection but overpriced ($6-$13 for a single beer). Especially if you like craft beers. Mixed drinks arent all that great though, just average and overpriced too. The lines get really long on Fridays and Saturdays so beware. Come early around 8:30pm or earlier unless you want to wait in line for 30+min. Gonna miss being able to come and go without being required to Vax. Hope they dont lose too much business and shutdown. :/
Pretty chill place to go have a drink. I usually just skip the dance floor/club area and head straight for the outdoor lounge. The atmosphere is generally just people chillin in the couches. At peak times it’s packed and seats are hard to come by. However if you get there when it’s not so busy you’ll enjoy it. I’m not much into the “club” scene. My version of a good time is just having maybe one or two drinks and people watching.
Ok selection of beer/wine/cocktails, just enough that whoever goes will have at least something theyll drink. Initial room has tall tables of a typical bar. Hallway has lounges and games. Back patio is actually really nice, allows smoking, and has second bar.
Pretty good place to chill. Always go there to pregame on Fridays. Fun on the inside cause its a nice Dancey vibe. On the outside its pretty chill too but feels like your hanging out at a sauna.
Happened upon this bar. Excellent service. Clean and well organized. Great servers. Nice outdoor patio. Well worth a visit or 10!!!
Ive been here a number of times, especially during college and it holds to be a pretty decent bar with both a club feeling in the front and more of an outdoor lounge in the back. Bartenders appear to be quick and personable (at least in the back as I rarely frequent the club area in the front) and the people there appear to be your classic college-aged students looking for a good time. The bouncer in the front seemed to handle very well a belligerent beer-goer on the outside who demanded to be let in. The only criticism may be that the bar may not be able to accommodate via seating and space when it gets too crowded but if youre into that D to A action, depending on the night, this may be your spot.Would definitely recommend and return.
Seriously grateful for their outdoor patio lounge. Their bar is great, lineup of music, events, and food & drink specials. One of those rare places thats good on both slow and busy nights. Their food is bomb too! They had me at okonomiyaki fries 🥰
This place has apparently come a long way since the days where 40s were served to patrons looking to scrap. They have live music and are great for first fridays. The happy hour is decent, but nothing Id get too excited about. The bar is nice and they have a cool outdoor area in the back
Visited this place about a year ago! Clientele from 20 up to 60. Great vibes , amazing service ! I loved to sit on the patio with all the girls .
Overall, one of my favorite bars in Waikiki so far. They have a great DJ. The music is always popping and danceable. Its a decent sized dance area. If youre not looking for dancing, the patio area out back is perfect for sipping on a drink. The servers are great about checking in on you.
Overall great place for drinks during the week and trivia on Wednesday’s are a blast. Weekends are definitely a college experience, young and loud, it’s like most college bars I’ve been to Friday and Saturday night. The interior could use a bit of a spruce up but otherwise solid place
This bar has become one of my favorite places to hang out with friends and co-workers. The staff is always friendly and the selection of drinks is excellent. Theres a back patio where you can smoke cigars while enjoying your drinks and a cozy room on the inside lets you have more privacy for parties. The seats and table in this room create a nice space for playing board games and Jenga which are provided. Being in Chinatown, parking is always a challenge. The municipal parking structures close by are usually your best bet. The food is pretty decent but dont expect gourmet dishes. Other restaurants close by offer much better dining options. Fridays and Saturdays seem to be the most popular times if you like crowds. Otherwise, come during other times to enjoy a more quiet atmosphere.
Really nice clean place. Like the cleanest bar I have seen in Oahu. Gretchen is fantastic and I will back around 4pm again.
I travelled to may countries and around the U.S. and Bar 35 has the best pizza and had the pleasure of experiencing. My friend and I ordered 3 different pizzas including. Gyro, Tuscan and Chinese sausage which were so delicious with the right amount of gourmet sauce, cheese and topping and a crispy crust to die for. Also ordered a Gyro sandwich with crisp fries that included a variety of dipping sauces that were all zesty and tasty which we dipped our fries, sandwich and pizzas with. Yummy!Atmosphere was very hip and relaxing at the same time with a good mixed crowd.Going back next week to try everything else on the menu!
Me and the hubs went to for a night out. And we will definitely be coming back!! The waitress there was very helpful and telling us about the different theme nights. And Thursday live band soul night sounds good!!! We will be attending
Every 2 Saturday of the month is reggae night. Music was Lit. security.. it top notch.. wait staff less than personable. but they were slammed. atmosphere two thumps up.
This could be a super cool place if everyone didnt go to it. Place is always jammed packed and feels a little hostile but thats the people in it not the bar itself.Tips are a must here. Ive never seen wait staff and bartenders work so hard at a club/bar before.Be warned youre probably going to get touched, grabbed, and rubbed up on even if you dont want to. If something happens that you dont like, tell the bouncers yall. That is something this bar is really good about. There are A TON of bouncers that will have no problem grabbing someone and throwing them out if theyre acting a fool.Great back area outdoors with a few couches to chill and relax on.
Bar 35 is a great bar to meet people and start your night. There are two sections, with rarely a line to get in. The front section is a large bar with a dancefloor and main DJ where mostly dance hip-hop and/or Top 40 is being played, depending on who the DJ is. The back section is an open area where you can freely smoke and has a bar. The music is usually 90s and Top 40 hip hop. It also has seating areas ranging from sofa couches to small seats and benches. Finally, within the bar, there is a place to enjoy small eats, such as appetizer like items and pizza. Overall, great bar to start off your night in Waikiki.
Not a bad place to stop in for a drink if youre in the downtown area. Can get a bit crowded and seating might be an issue depending on the size of your group.Drink prices are on par with what youd expect. Id also check out a few of the other watering holes right around the corner if your looking for a place to hang with friends while having a few drinks.
Great happy hour prices. Happy hour goes till 9pm. Excellent beer selection! Food was excellent. There is an outside area and a private room for a larger crowd
Nice environment... hip hop music 🎶 bouncers are friendly. 10pm everything shuts down due to covid. Although some bars and lounges are still open.
This is Hawaii, dont expect a great nightlife. Clubs and bar are closing at midnight, crowd in their 20s, food and drinks are overpriced... Bar 35 is pretty fine though. And even if you dont like it, there are other bars in the same street. Go early and give it a try.
Bar35guest is a most excellent wifi connection. The downtown young, up and coming, and outgoing. People are people as they say. Most enjoy a good night out, dressing the best. Somewhat bold but obnoxious, keep caution in mind, as a new meaning to the word sophomoric. Hee hee!
Sad theyre only open Thu - Sat but still one of my favorite bars. Drinks are strong and reasonably priced, with a great beer selection. Everything you could need from a bar.
Went early for some pre dinner drinks, then wandered down the street for supper. Planned on checking out another bar after dinner, but when walking by the strip of bars, Bar 35 was playing the best music, and had the longest line to get in (rightfully so). Line moved fast and we had a great time dancing and drinking late into the night! Will be back!
Happy hour is still a great deal. However, cocktail and beer prices seem to be a bit inconsistent from what is listed in the menu. Be sure to review your bill before cashing out.
Very extensive domestic, craft, and import beer selection on tap and by the bottle! Proper glassware. Great selection of hard liquors, Scotches, and Bourbons! Long bar, hightop seating, private party room, live music, and a spacious back lanai which plays occasional host to fine cigar events! Street parking on Smith Street available first come first serve, municipal parking, and CallToPark app parking lot in rear off of Smith Street.
While there was no line to get in, which was good, once the place got crowded the 2 small ceiling-mounted a/c units couldnt handle the heat in the front room. The decor - concrete walls, ceiling and floor with one side having a long bar. A few rectangular tables and metal chairs, which kept disappearing the closer to midnight it got, and your done. Throw in a DJ and a projected scene on the back wall and youll understand why there was a line next door at Next Door.
Gretchen is an absolutely fantastic bartender. She can read the mood of her clients and creates a wonderful atmosphere! She also got us really, REALLY, really drunk very efficiently. Autocorrect has saved this review so many times.
My go-to bar/club for a night on the town. Im not a huge fan of Waikiki, so I like to hang with my friends in Chinatown and we always start here, unless its at Downbeat for food (which is GREAT btw). Bar 35 is awesome, a nice open patio on the back (sucks if its raining though. Wet fabric couches are no fun) and a good dance floor. Always playing some movie on the projector and the service is pretty fast most of the time.
I come for the pizzas and my friends come for the drinks. They have happy hour on Monday to Friday from 5pm - 6pm. The food specials are 25% off on any 2 regular pizzas and 25% off for edamame or Euro fries. I recommend the Sweet Bangkok pizza. Its a thin crust cheese pizza topped with lup cheong (Chinese sausage), cilantro, and drizzled with sweet chili sauce. All their pizzas are thin crust and are great for sharing. If you work in downtown Honolulu, this is a good spot to come and hang out after work. The inside is dark and the couches dont look pretty but the pizza is good. I come when happy hour starts and I leave by 6:30pm so its not crowded.
I highly recommend this bar, its fun to go to and they have this really good lemon drop martini called the Christini (not on the menu you have to ask for it), its great for those that prefer it to be a little less sweet or more sour.
Its a very nice looking bar. Music was very hit or miss for me personally. The reason I put 2 stars is because there is alot of macho man flexing. You can be asked what your problem is and if you want to fight by complete strangers that you may have crossed gazes with. It just feels kind of hostile.
Me and my friend were trying to enjoy our night out when all of a sudden a fight broke out between one of the bar’s security guards and a customer in the patio area. The other security guards did nothing to control the situation until other customers had to jump in to stop the fight. Me and my friend were almost trampled by the panicking crowd trying to escape the chaos. I don’t know if I can ever return.
Safe clean bar in Chinatown
Great place to hang out whether its inside where they had dj and decent music or outside where you can also order food. Reasonably easy to get a drink. Bathrooms are clean.
By far one of the best bars I have ever been to. Great selection of beer and sprits, local music, vip area, and an outdoor bar. This place has it all. Even the bar staff is beautiful, thats coming from a gay man!
Super fun! Super hot! I definitely wish there was a better A/C lol
Fun Chinatown bar in downtown Honolulu. big selection of craft beers and yummy cocktails. super chill for late night drinks and pau hana. perfect bar food bites like chicken nuggets (!) and flat bread pizzas.
Great local bar that becomes lively at night. Tons of beers to choose from and there is an outdoor lounge in the back. Pretty solid starting out ending point for a night out.
This place has great food and affordable drinks if you go off there specials were fast with the food and had a pretty cool back room that was outside it was a little wet though.
Really enjoyed this bar, excellent prices on fantastic beers. Great tap selection and fresh chicerones!! Who does that!!! Fantastic place will be back.
Worst bouncer ever. I was the most sober person one in my group and the guy would not let me in because I was too drunk, but let the tiny white girls I was with in that were overly drunk get in without a problem. I wasnt sure if it was a race thing or something else. It wasnt dress code because I was dressed just the same.
One of the best bars in China Town; if you happen to visit, go to the back room Alex the bartender will take good care of you!
Fun bar with cheap cocktails during happy hour.Update: new cook. All the favorite foods are gone.
Music is usually very load, it gets crowded quick and they do not serve red bull. The outdoors bar is nice and the crowd is sometimes wild.
The happy hour is a must
I usually have fun here, decent music well priced drinks and good food, however I had one problem where the bartender incorrectly made my drink and I had to ask 3 different people until I got them remade.
Open now with plenty of space for distancing, their standard huge beer list, and solid food made in-house. Definitely going back soon
Best drinks and fun ever.
Fantastic establishment. They play good music, the outside dining area is a delight and the drinks were great
Checked out this club last night for Hallowbaloo 2018. I went to 6 different clubs last night and this place wad by far the best. Great DJ and the food was good.
Great music but overpriced drinks which lowers the tips on the bartenders, so they are not helpful.
We enjoyed both pizzas we tried, and the deep-fried brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze. Not to mention the beer!
Best beer selection in town! Amazing gourmet pizzas. Killer happy hour. Need I say more?
Where else can you go on a Wednesday to get a flight of beers for $7? The serving size is also great for the price!
Great place for happy hour! we got 6 drinks for about $20
Still a good hangout. Lost some luster...especially ladies room and outdoor lounge.Potential remains - bartenders are tops.
Best bar/club on Oahu
Great place to enjoy your drinks with friends, staff is super friendly, drinks are decently priced, but more importantly the place is chill
Grade A service and very friendly staff. Very good prices as well, especially when doing half off for food.
I perform here occasionally. However, even as a patron, I appreciate the collection of the available drinks as well as the staff.
Large happy hour selection. Intimate patio in the back. Gretchen is personable and professional.
Great cocktails! Happy hour prices that cant be beat.
Very nice atmosphere. Staff is very accommodating. The vegetarian pizza and martinis were awesome!
The management of this bar are complete jerks, selfish, and crooked. The bar manager would take the bartenders tips and refused to pay their employees until the government got involved.
Better when no one is there. Maybe Im just old.
One of my favorite bars. The outside area is a great place to relax and socialize.
Clean bar. If youre a beer person, they have lots. I love sitting out on the patio and having a glass of wine.
The chicharrones are awesome. Check out Bar 35 is it a great spot for a drink or two.
Love this place, I go there once a week when Gretchen is working. Awesome drinks and beer selection and great food!
Awesome happy hour prices on food and drinks, one of the largest beer selections on the island
Back patio is nice. Lots of beers to choose from. Club atmosphere.
Horrible experience they gave my card to someone else and I never got it back
Great place, great drinks. The atmosphere and friendly service is dope.
Great place. Just dont order the oyster. Waste of time and money.
Excellent fusion flat bread/pizza, delicious drinks free water, and good music! need I say more?
Great atmosphere, awesome happy hour specials and the pupus are worth it! Try the brussel sprouts!
Crowded and expensive. This is more a club then a bar - of thats your scene youll probably enjoy it but its not for me.
Disgusting Place with disgusting Music. Nothing to celebrate there, only high prices. I would avoid this Place by any costs!
R and B and Rap are great to dance to... just not every single song, all night...
Go to spot on Fridays to turn up but a nice relaxed vibe on Saturdays when you want to chill and grab a drink
Always a safe bet to come here. Great crowd and good drink selection.
Place was packed great DJ, not too diverse but very nice crowd
Fun spot for drinks and dancing on the weekends! Outside patio in the back!
Great selection of happy hour beers that I thoroughly enjoyed!
Super good happy hour- $3.75 Three Olive vodka drinks!
Great atmosphere, very good drinks, and solid staff!!!
Great place to grab and drink. The pizza is soo good
Overall, a great experience.
Nice bar, good happy hour. Diverse clientele
Fun bar life, crowd is well mixed, drinks are spot on.
Mininalsitic high end dive bar the kind of place youd go if your avoiding a bounty hunter
Great beer selection. Highly recommended the bar!
Nice patio out back younger crowd had lots of fun
Great beer selection, nice outdoor seating.
Some of the best beer and bartenders on island. Security is friendly and fair.
A nice clean spot, good selection, okay service.
Friendly staff and great food alsoFun atmosphere.
Great place to be on the first Friday of the month... Would probably go to Waikiki any other day.
Favorite place in Chinatown. Okonomiyaki fries are the best!
Absolutely one of the best night I ever had in Oahu.
Good crowd and atmosphere, solid Moscow Mule.
Venue with indoor and outdoor space and good beer selection.
Tuesday specials $25 for a pizza and a bottle of wine. It cant be beat.

Bar 35 has a good selection of beers to enjoy.
Loud, exprnsive, good wait help. Perhaps a very late late night crowd
Miss China Town... That is all. Great service and live music.
I dont remember anything about this place, so it must be good
Great service great vibe!
Good times with good people and the pizza was amazing
5:15pm,Visited this bar they can not serve me.Asking why,...they just cant serve me.i think they just missed $$$.$$,.Next.
They have some amazing gyro pizzas.
Neat location, awesome pizza and bread pudding.
Hawaii is dope regardless but Bar 35 gets it in. From the mainland.
