Eagle Houston

It started with attending a monthly group function at Eagle Houston. I began to fall in love with it. The employees were polite and service was good. It has lots of patio space and nice bars downstairs. I especially love attending the Eagle Pride Festival during the Gay Pride weekend.

I was at the Eagle Houston Friday Aug 16th at 7pm. I had the worst bartender ever. He only payed attention to his friends at the bar then his customers. There were people who had the yell at him to get his action to get a drink. He was not friendly only to his friends. The drink I had was horrible. I told him about it and he said there was nothing wrong with it. After having to explained myself as to why I didn’t like it he finally made me a new drink. I guess he was never Taught that the customer is always right.Avoid this bartender or be prepared to have a horrible night.

Been here a few times it’s always disappointing because it’s not a leather bar but to on a Sunday mid day I was denied entry because I have a backpack. I’m visiting and fly out in a few hours. Will be my last timeWent to ripcord where they have free bag check

I was amazed by the high classy bar, more than many others and the var tender you need to ask for is Victor. Gentle, polite and for me that I dont drink alcohol he prepared some awesome drinks. He really is all out for the client. Good music and fun place to be.

If you want ice thrown at, you don’t come to this bar. This man threw ice at me and my friends because we were barely in front of the bar for even five minutes and there was a drag queen show so we had to make room and he kept throwing ice at us when there was no line. My friends and I are going to report him. It was upstairs, and he was a white bald man.

Never heard of mixing ground beef with chorizo for mini burgers, but dayum, this place turns that dish out on special occasions and it is the bomb! The menu is full of great fusion dishes, it was hard to decide. The prices seem to match the portions and Im eager for a return to Eagle Eats to try another dish. Or I may just be stuck on those mini burgers for a while! (Hopefully soon to be a regular menu item.)

Great food and even better service. The Chorizo/Beef Sliders are my new favorite but the Cowboy Quesadillas are an awesome everyday option.

Beware going anywhere near this establishment. I have an outstanding insurance claim due to an incident that was the bars responsibility and after two months, nothing is resolved despite emailing and calling. Their broker over at FNBIA - Bar Insurance has ghosted me. Shouldnt be that hard to do the right thing and treat people with respect.

We had the best time here. We was downtown decided to take a ride over here. We stayed almost all night. What a great time. Thank you for an excellent time.

Great spot, cheap drinks and the upstairs is great for dancing. Good outside seating if you want a more chill vibe too.

Not the old Eagle it use to be, however its a much more clean version with great dance music and good pours. And there is still a view or three while in the restroom. Bears await....

I love this place!!! The Eagle has great service, drink specials, bartenders, unique shop inside, nightly entertainment and a really cool and great food truck. ❤️🏳️‍🌈❤️🏳️‍🌈

Fun place, we go Al least a couple times a month usually on Saturdays, gets packed around 10:30- 11.Good looking bartenders.

The staff that works there is rude, when it ends at 2:00 am they throw you out like a dog, they have no respect for people, they yell at you in a very bad way that you have to leave the place, they are definitely rude and disrespectful, I was in line to enter the bathroom and one of those who works there didnt respect his shift and got in front of everyone claiming that he worked there and they sent the police to take us out for no reason, they abused, they took more advantage because we were women. They are definitely rude and disrespectful, this bar has no respect for its customers. I definitely give them a zero and terrible mistreatment of customers.🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 zero stars

Attentive friendly staff. Absolutely LOVE this bar. Ive met Amazing people that Ive stayed in touch with.Being a single straight gal, I have an awesome time at this bar. I can actually carry on meaningful conversations, dance the night away and never stop smiling!!!

It’s a hard choice between the $6 budlites, or the $10 married liquor. Everyone else in montrose had $3 or $4 budlites. I don’t know how TABC doesn’t fine them for married call battles with top shelf bottle or wells. Never know what you’re going to get. The only thing you can guarantee is a high tab at the end of the night.

I dont visit often but when I do, I have a great time. The dance floor is always packed. I dont know what they do to their soda fountain but they have the crispest best tasting bar diet coke. It is almost as good as McDonalds. The only negative is there is a set of steep death stairs in the outside patio, I have a fear of tumbling down them and breaking my little neck after a couple of beers.

I had a fabulous time. Sean Steenson and Chris (former bartender of 611) wereincredibly nice and courteous.

Went into the eagle Houston tonight for pride with my good friend Mark! Im here on tour stayed and extra day just to hang out tonight. My buddy Mark who frequents the club regularly pointed out his favorite bartender who was wearing a neon green egale shirt. I complamented him on the color he told me the shirt was on sale in the store. I said awesome Im going to go grab one he gave me the thumbs up. I proceeded to stream my Instagram live as I do all over the country in lgbtq establishments to promote the businesses. Next thing I know Im being asked to leave by the younger black security guard. Drinks purchased by my friend Mark Cameron need to be refunded because there was absolutely zero reason to destroy our vibe.I still have zero clue why I was asked to leave. If you guys have a no filming policy then that should have been stated. Im highly offended and this is not the eagle standard Im accustome to across the country. I will make sure that I let every single one of my followers and individual in the community know just how I was treated un justly during pride Houston 2023 in Houston.Go to south beach or Jrs instead. They welcome all lgbtq and the venue is nice. I will be calling my ppl at atl eagle in the morning to tell them my experience.My feelings are hurt and I would like and apologize 😔

Went out here with the guy I’m seeing and it was pretty good. Bartenders are friendly and attentive. And of course attractive too. Haha. Good music. No drama. More a bar scene which I like. There’s a bomb taco truck if you’re having a hankering for grub!

Was an awesome bar. I loved the atmosphere. You can chill outside and inside with 2 floors. Theres also a food truck in front. I loved it. I even got a chance to dance alittle.

Eagle was my first stop in Houston! Conveniently located near our AirBnB, this was naturally the first stop. Bartender Cairo served my friends and I immediately and provided a number of recommendations to us when we asked. The bar offers several themed events during the week and has a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

I was actually really bummed after my visit to this bar:The Eagle is generally known as a leather bar in every major city it exists in and this bar was the furthest from when I visited. Eagles are generally very friendly bars and this is probably the one exception.The patrons were very inconsiderate and coming in with my leathers on I was quickly disregarded by the bartenders and waited for over 5 minutes for service and subsequently left after being ignored.The crowd was generally younger twinks who were very uninterested in socializing with anyone outside of their own groups. It was disheartening to say the least.I also visited the store, the gentleman was pretty unhelpful but the store was stocked with a variety of different brands but the selection was limited.In all honesty I wouldnt visit this bar again. If youre interested in a leather bar, there are others in the immediate vicinity that are worth visiting.

Visited The Eagle for my first time last night with a Co-Worker and Friends. The Bartenders were awesome and the bar was full of locals. I even met some new friends while out.Great Place Great Prices and Great Vibes.

Newly remodeled with a friendly vibe, efficient bartenders, and a well organized shop. More pub than leather bar, but who cares? The environment draws a good crowd, and they seem to like everyone here. Points for Cole, Chris, and Pearsons top notch service.

Bartender thought it was cool to cut the jukebox when we had paid for several songs that never got to play. They also havent evolved to the point that they dont need to keep your credit card for an open tab (unlike every other area bar).

I visited Eagle from out of town while I was in Houston for a conference. It wasn’t so crowded that I felt overwhelmed, and it was just crowded enough that I enjoyed the atmosphere. Amazing place, with great people. Highly recommend, especially if the “bear scene” is your thing.

Want to have a good time? Eagle is one of the best spot. Cory is the best bartender ever!

One of my favorite Eagles. Went solo on a business trip. Great outdoor patio that wraps around the building. Drink prices were reasonable. Very friendly staff and patrons.

The music can be loud at times, but friendly crowds, good drinks, awesome bartenders (esp. some guy named Chris, I heard he is the one to ask for) makes this among the best places in Montrose.

This place was POPPIN. What can I say. Good Music, lots of dancing and good times. Overall just a blast.

Its not your typical Eagles bar… more along the lines of a JRs on steroids… there is some leather, but its a mixed crowd… those looking for the typical Eagle crowd will be disappointed… but its a fun bar nonetheless

Let me preface by saying, Im a Southern gal, raised in Tennessee. I know fried chicken. Ive been cooking my great-grandmothers recipe in a cast iron skillet for ages. So I have VERY high expectations when it comes to this entree. Holy moly was I pleasantly surprised at The Eagle! Their fried chicken is outstanding. So tender, cooked perfectly, no flavor is sacrificed. So many restaurants toot about their friend chicken, but Ive been disappointed many times. Not at The Eagle, though. Not in the mood for such a hefty meal? Try the roast chicken salad! The figs put it over the top!The sides are meant to be shared. My favorite is absolutely the mac n cheese. You MUST go here.

Nice bar, too many women and straights, also absolutely terrible smell from the crawfish boil on Sundays. Great bartenders and music however and strong drinks. I do recommend, but the crawfish smell is vile.

Not a bad place at all! The drinks made with the fountain gun seemed to not be the best flavor, but over all a nice, no-judgement zone. Clean and lots of space!

I am on the minority in that I think the Fried Chicken here is subpar. The coating just doesnt do it for me, it is just too hard and crunchy. I think KFC has a better flavor profile. I am not a hot sauce fan so the Spicy Honey they provide to help the chicken hurts it in my opinion.Everything else is great. The Mac N Chesse is great. The drinks are what I would expect from a Mass Ave location. The use Eagle Rare in the Old Fashion which makes it worth drinking. The atmosphere is great making it feel like a classy barn. Stick to the side and drinks and you will be happy.

It’s Friday night! The crowd is not bad! The music is house / dance and it’s good! I’d come back! Good drinks! Fair price. No cover!

I have to give it 3 stars. It is a good place to be and everything nice environment but once you close out, they put an extra tip then what you put on the ticket. That is not cool at all.

Bar tenders are nice and friendly. The drink prices are a bit high in comparison to the other bars in the area. The music that is played is alright, but not anything special.

Fun upbeat bar with great a/c, patios, clean restrooms, & honest bartenders. Always a good weekend crowd. International guest note: NO public wifi. Go to any other gay bar in the neighborhood to connect.

We like this place. Very cozy with lots of outdoor balconies. They have good drink specials as well. Can get very crowded especially for Sunday Funday.

I was here 2 years ago, I always go to leather store inside the bar. I was very disappointed. It is not a leather store anymore, very feminine, very queen type of store.. its disgusting 🤮🤢

Love Sunday Funday and... well... any day I go. Accessories/Leather shop inside that always has fresh new stuff along with the every day leatherman essentials !! Bar staff are always nice and there is always some good eye candy to look at. And when the bewitching hour hits...you gotta hit up Taco Truck outside for the bestest, cheesiest, most deliciousness quesadilla ever.

This is the most disappointing “Eagle” bar I’ve ever been to. Not a macho/leather vibe at all. Music was not good and upstairs closed at 10pm on a weekend - even staff were surprised.

Omg, fix the lighting upstairs for god sake’s. Considering all the money the gays bring you, decent lighting is a minimum and extremely resolvable request.

Not the original. It is blaspheme to call this establishment an Eagle. I asked several bar staff if they had leather events and knew what IML was. None could answer.My suggestion to my leather family, steer clear of this imposter with 90% straight staff and go to a real leather bar in Houston.....Ripcord

This is where you go if you want unattractive bears in their 40-50s looking at you like you are meat, wondering if they wanna have sex with you or not (even though you are married, with a ring on and husband at your side!). Also the drinks are overpriced. My rum and coke was served in a shotglass.

Always a great time no matter when you come. The bartenders are very attentive and make sure you are taken care of!

This bar really caters to repeat customers, bartenders will continue to pay on the jukebox so that others cant play music. I wouldnt recommend going here.

A guy with a cactus on his forehead, a fat guy, takes advantage of people who are drunk to include extra drinks or pretends he doesnt understand to sell extra drinks... he speaks 100% Spanish, hes just a guy who takes advantage. .too bad for this place that doesnt know how to have loyal, honest people...

Just not like the other eagles. The bartenders that have been there for a while are great, the others, not so much.Note that it is not like the other Eagle branches in other cities in the United States. The sweepers that have been there for many years are good. But the others are the worst.

The atmosphere was very good. It gives you the feeling that it is an old house transformed into a nightclub. Also, the drinks were well priced and very strong.
