River Oaks Thai Massage

We were gifted a couples massage here— this was our second time, and it was as good as we remember. We both did the Thai Combination 60 minute massage. My masseuse Pim was amazing, and I will definitely be coming back for her. I tend to hold a lot of tension in my muscles and prefer strong pressure (I enjoy feeling a little sore from my massages)— which is sometimes hard to find. She worked on some knots I had in my neck and shoulders, and it was amazing! The hot stones and assisted stretches also felt great. The value and service are excellent. Parking is limited (they have a driveway that can fit 1-2 cars) but we found some parking on the street behind the apartment complex. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Second time coming here. It’s always been a good experience! The offer different massages but I have come to love the Thai massage. Ana has magical hands. 100% recommend this place.

Great experience!! I had an hour Thai combination massage (it is a combination of stretching, massage and hot stones) with Peter. He is amazing. I never had a professional massage like this one. He is very respectful, and understands the level of pressure that you want. I prefer light/medium massages. This is 100% worth it. Also, at the end they gave me a hot tea, water and a pink salt to take a hot bath in my house. It was raining a lot today when I came but one of the ladies walked me over my car with the umbrella. The service in general is amazing. I’m definitely coming back

Matt & Harry put me and my girlfriend to true relaxation. For me being the first time getting a professional massage truly put my stress and tense muscles away. I nearly almost went to sleep! Haha but seriously best massage i have had so far, great service, polite people, and very gentle if super tense. Will for sure come back again and really recommend this place to others! This is a first-class massage place - I was impressed with the amazing massage therapist Sammy who took incredible care and had great consideration as it was my first massage in years so I was really tight and out of balance in the body. I would not hesitate to come again in the near future nor to highly recommend this place to anyone needing a therapeutic massage or a massage simply for relaxation! They also give tea and chocolate at the end of the session.

Great Thai Massage. We did a couples massage and I slept through most of it which means it’s great! I felt refreshed and re-energized. The staff was super friendly and professional and I felt very at peace in a clean environment. Highly recommend!

This was my first Thai massage! My fiancee and I did the 1.5hr couple massage with Peter and Lalin, we decided to do the Thai combo and it was amazing! My fiancee is a massage therapist and she loved it! The place is very relaxing and the customer service is spot on! The massage rooms are very calming. You get your full 1.5 hours of massage, and if you have never tried Thai massage, I highly recommend it as a first timer! I think the most exciting part was, I didnt get off the table with a stuffy nose!!! Every massage Ive had, I always end up with a stuffy nose. The whole experience was amazing! It was worth the 40min drive into Houston. We will definitely be back! Thank you!!

12/27 - downgrading 5 to 3 starWe had tried this place and enjoyed the message hence scheduled a follow up 2 weeks out. Everything was the same. At our last appointment the lady was persistent that I gave them a review so she would share a little salt sachet with me. I told her I didn’t care for it since I am a reviewer, but it was a bit off and seemed pushy. There was also a bit of communication gap so I let it go. Anyway fast forward 2 weeks and I called them earlier to confirm, since we were particular about our therapist, and the scheduler seemed to have lost out appointment in the system. She said it wasn’t there. Then she scheduled a new one for us same day and when I requested and confirmed if our therapist were there she said yes! We showed up for our appointment and again she had no track of it. I decided not to get mine and my hubby decided to go on his own. His person was late likely because she was pushed from one place to another and was understandably exhausted hence the message or the therapy was not the same. It’s a real shame since we liked this place so much but we will be looking for another spot now.Previous review - Great massage place but no parking. The ladies know what they are doing. My hubby loves Diana as his masseuse and we will be back most likely!

Had a great experience with Matt at River Oaks Thai Massage. Booked this appointment same day online, my first massage ever. I left feeling so relaxed and de-stressed, the hour flew by! Matt was so kind. He talked me through it, but was also quiet and let me meditate and targeted the massage to my stress points. Would come here again.

Me and my husband desperately needed massages so I found this place on google. I decided to give it a shot due to the good reviews and I was not disappointed. Great massages with tons of options. Free hot stone massage add on was available. Very nice and professional staff. We definitely plan to come again. One side note, there is no parking lot so plan to park on the neighboring streets.

Just finished an excellent first session with Peter! First time having a masseuse stand in my back. It felt great and he focused on all my tension areas appropriately never going to far, but keeping the right amount of pressure. I’m leaving feeling relaxed I will definitely be coming back.

This was my first time. I did the cupping and massage combo for 1.5 hours. It was intense but massage therapist communicated the entire time. I believe I will get these more often as it will help with my yoga and strength training practices. Service was great and made me feel comfortable. Only feedback is perhaps explaining the cupping technique for a first time client. I had no idea what to expect.

Matt was fantastic! I got the deep tissue massage for 90 minutes. He incorporated some Thai massage techniques in as well. He was very gentle and patient as I got more comfortable throughout. This place is a little hidden gem. Its easy to miss on the outside but the inside is so well decorated and has constantly soothing music playing. The place is super clean, and the bathroom has nice little touches like mouthwash, a shower (I didnt need it), and even hair brushes. I got a Thai combo massage with Harry and lemme tell you I feel like a renewed person. The Thai part was stellar with nice pressure, standing on my legs and back, and the swedish portion was so soothing with oils and hot stones/towels. All my tension is gone! If you havent ever had a Thai massage before, be sure to ask for lighter pressure than your usual because it is no joke! Ive had it a few times before so I asked for strong, but they are not joking around when they mean strong lol. The room is private and quiet, and theres even a mirror in the room so you can fix your hair or outfit after an hour of intense relaxation.The only thing is parking is a little confusing - there is a small driveway and no lot so if you park in the driveway just let the receptionist know and leave your keys with her so you dont have to wait from being parked in after your massage is completed like me. But that was completely fine since they offer you a cup of hot tea, water, and a little chocolate after your massage anyway. Apparently you can park on any of the surrounding streets so Ill be sure to do that next time instead.

Our first time doing a couple’s massage: we did a Swedish and a Thai massage where the masseuse walks on your back. Both were amazing and we will be coming back! There is no parking on site and you’ll need to park around the facility with street parking.

Tried this place for the first time today for a sports massage and it was very relaxing. The massages are very reasonably priced.After going back for a subsequent visit I chose to amend my review. The massages are still very affordable but after trying several different styles of massage there I found that they really just specialize in Thai massage. Each style I have tried still implement core Thai massage techniques. It’s great if you love Thai massage, I personally hate having my back walked on and was pressured into it the last time I went which is why I amended the review. I prefer more sports/deep tissue massage styles.

I decided to surprise my partner with a massage to relax from a stressful few weeks. When arriving, I was so excited to get our first couples massage. Upon leaving, my reaction was much different. I researched this location and read the reviews, so I was excited to experience what others has experienced. All in all, the massage was very painful for both of us. He mentioned that his masseuse was extremely rough. Mine had me more exposed then I would like. Overall, my experience was not the best.

Wanted a massage on a whim and looked for places local. Checked the website and they had open availability. I was a little upset because I said that I did not want to be walked on twice to the receptionist and on the paperwork due to not enjoying it in the past. Yet, the LMT walked on me. Lovely spa in the middle of River Oaks. The staff are kind and accommodating. I booked a 90 minute Thai combination massage with Matt. He was very patient and responsive to my requests to adjust pressure.The spa is clean and cozy. Parking is limited, but not too bad.I enjoyed my services and will certainly be back.

This place is awesome. First time getting a massage and I did the body scrub and massage combo. They paid special attention to the areas I marked. After the scrub they let me shower and I left feeling super relaxed and rejuvenated. Staff is incredibly nice and attentive. The bathroom is extremely clean. Love this place. Will be returning again. When you leave they give you complimentary chocolate and tea.

Update March 2024: second time and second 5-star experience. This time I got a Thai combination from Matt, who was a joy. He gave a great massage and was fun to chat with. I am feeling wonderfully stretched and relaxed.Was very impressed by the service and ambiance of the place. I got a Thai combination massage by Harry, who did a wonderful job. I feel brand new! I will definitely be back and recommend anyone check it out.

Absolutely Love it. First time here was a bit nervous about the whole thing but total relaxation for your whole body. The prices is worth it and the place is lovely and beautiful. It an absolute need to try at this place. Forgot to ask for the ladies names but they were absolute dolls. They ask what your comfortable with and if anything to just say something. I went with my boyfriend and we got the couple massage and in his opinion also was that his back feel a bit better and mines felt so much better than before. As soon as you get up you feel it and it the best feeling ever.

Loved it every bit of it , my masseuse found the muscle from when I pop my shoulder out of place and knew there was something wrong and really targeted that area and now my shoulder feels better than every , she did great walking on my back ,being firm and both gentle while checking on me to make sure I wasn’t being hurt , loved the hot stones and hot towel and bean bags also I tried the body scrub for the first time since started getting massages a few years ago and it was lovely they take great care of you and care about their customers, great smells in aromatherapy and healing frequencies are heard the whole massage 10/10 for sure

May goodness why am I just getting a Thai massage?! I’m always gifted massages for birthdays, mothers days, Christmas, etc… This Thai massage was a gift for Mother’s Day. I’m not sure if I’d have ever thought to get myself a Thai massage. I typically stand up for anywhere between 10-12 hours a day and have a high stress job so my body is pretty much always tight! I normally get deep tissue or Swedish massages but I’m realizing they weren’t enough. Thai combination is what I will get from now on! My body feels so loose and relaxed! Neeta (?) was amazing and very informative on how to care for my body afterwards. I will definitely send my family and friends. And I will for sure be getting this at least once a month!

Terrible massage. Did not get the girls name, but at one point she rubbed my tummy for what seemed like good luck, and then proceeded to apparently check my internal organs like a doctor would. She truly seemed like she did not know how to give a massage. Many times forgot to cover areas after she has moved on to another. For example, left my leg uncovered but moved on to massage my head. This happened more than once. My advice, do not go here. Also, smelled of mildew. Gross.

Update - I came here the first time with Nicky who did a great job. I then went back a second time and was not at all impressed. The massage therapist - unfortunately I don’t remember her name - was putting way too much pressure and didn’t seem to have a good feeling of my body or pain areas. She also didn’t check in about pressure. My feelings about this place went from being one of the best massages I’ve had (first visit) to one of the worst (second visit) I’ve had.The other thing I find annoying is that they tell you to leave a review and then wait for you to do it. It makes you feel uncomfortable. They should let the quality of the massage (or lack thereof, depending on visit) speak for itself!

My masseuse was sick. She was coughing and had a runny nose. I chose to ignore it. My massage was okay. I didn’t want her to step on me, so she had to use her hands and arms to massage me, and I could tell she really didn’t know how to give a massage without stepping on me. I chose to ignore it. Really, it’s probably my fault for booking a deep tissue massage at a Thai massage studio. Won’t make that mistake again.Front desk, please stop making people give a review in front of you. It’s awkward.

Had a very bad experience with this massage place. Went there to get relief from lower back pain instead the thai massage caused me severe flare up of sciatica pain.Clearly the massage therapist didn’t know what she was doing while she was pressing my nerves and applying pressure which caused pain and discomfort. Please avoid if you have pain symptoms as their massage can cause it to go worse I regret going here I’m in pain medication now and undergoing pt because of them :( :(I would like to know if their massage therapist are even licensed and trained to practice here

I told them that I wanted 100 percent Thai massage, no combination, no oil or lotion. I’m not sure what kind of massage they gave me but my masseur did not walk on me at all (which I had thought was exclusive to Thai-style massage). The padding on the head rest was not good and it also caused pain in my jaw. My massage therapist also performed several stretches with bouncing motion which has caused me daily pain since my massage for over a week now.This was my second massage here and the first time I was here they did not walk on me then either. They did try to incentivize me to write a review, that first visit, as I was offered a free gift if I did so. I’m going to find a different massage parlor from now on.

I asked for a female masseuse, and I was put with a male, the pressure was too hard when I requested light they forgot that we had an appointment so were very rushed to clean the room and the massage felt very rushed and relaxing at all. I was really disappointed with this massage. It was not relaxing, and I left in more pain than when I came in.
