The best live band venue in Houston! Great stage & outside patio. Amazing atmosphere & Shane is on top of it when it comes to the bar. Frankie, aka Godfather of the Houston Music Scene, makes everyone feel welcome & brings in some of the best local & national music around. With BFE you cant go wrong!
I waited until Id attended 3 shows here to write my review.Great venue. Sound system helped all bands sound amazing. Staff is attentive and provide excellent customer service. Alcohol prices are standard for a live venue, if not cheaper depending on what you order. Non smoking location but with outdoor patio with tons of seating for those who do , some covered for rainy weather, and contracted taco truck set up on site out there. (Tacos also delicious)Ill be returning to see more great local rock and metal bands.
This establishment is a Houston icon. The owner is awesome, the staff is great, the bar is big with lots of space inside and and an outside patio with a stage as well. Ive been here many times over several years and will go back. Would recommend to friends and family for sure. Parking is pretty good compared to lots of other bars/venues around town as well. You will have a good time and you will wonder why you havent been before!
Based off 1st experience!I was solo hopping and saw this place, popped in for a $10 entry fee (I’m sure some of this goes to the bands which I have no problem paying) and had a blast. Bartenders were cool/friendly! Music was awesome! It’s a good spot to hear metal/rock, the artists I saw were talented and professional. Would 100% recommend to my friends who are into metal/rock!
Memorial weekend!!! Had a blast. 4Skull soup and Black Kennedy were amazing. This was my first time to come out and visit this club. The atmosphere was great. Everyone there, was there to have a good time, and rock out. The bartender Reagan was phenomenal, as well. There is an outdoor area with a second stage, for all you smokers (no smoking inside). We will be returning. Its a fun place to go to check out new and upcoming artists. I even got to meet the owners too, super cool people. Delgado Approved!!!
Small venue but we went to see Texas Hippie Coalition there last weekend. I was prepared to be disappointed but honestly, it was a great show. The waitstaff was courteous and the sound of the bands was on point.Cant wait to go back.
One of our favorite venues we have played at yet. Extremely well organized, great sound system, easy communication, and super pleasant staff. Were looking forward to coming back!
One of my favorite venues in Houston. Since 2012, Ive had the pleasure of getting to know them as a patron, a photographer, crew member to a band and as a performing musician. This venue cares about people. This is one of those venues that possesses the, Everybody knows your name type of experience. Great sound. Great lighting. Great people. It will always be my Home venue.
Frank and Morgan were very accommodating, as well as the rest of the staff. They reserved a table for me as I am handicapped.Great venue for loud music.Cant wait to return in the future.
Always a good time in a relaxed environment.. Can get really Rocking and loud with great shows!!
My only complaint about BFE is that they dont have free water. Most music venues offer that to their patrons. I do enjoy coming here to see local bands and Im glad they got rid of smoking inside.
Love this place and all the staff. Best place in Houston to watch live music.
This place was great, owner was great, bands were great. 0 complaints. Next time in houston I will definitely visit again
Great place to see live touring and local metal bands play live.
So far I attended two School Of Rock band shows. The BFE Rock Club staff was very polite and helpful.
Sweet club, friendly bartenders and shot ladies. Nice yard. Super clean bathrooms and dance floor! Google Maps says no onsite parking, but theres plenty. Most importantly, awesome local talent... Loved the bands and their music!!!
A great club run by wonderful people. I am in a band and we have performed here. Yesterday BFE Rock Club hosted an event for School Of Rock. And I attended as one of the many School Of Rock students. They opened early when they are usually closed; on a Sunday. It was a great event and well-attended. It was very generous for the owners and the sound guy to help get all the kids (and some adults!) get up on the stage to perform as a band in front of an audience. Thats a great life experience for the kids to have. You could see the owners were excited to help make it all happen. So again, a great place run by wonderful people.
Cool manager, Great sound system, Great Sound Engineer. Hope to be back
Good music. Pretty good sound quality. Smoke free inside which i like. Smoking out on their patio. Patio is very nice too. Attentive and helpful staff
Small and cozy. But well run, there for grandsons School of Rock - Katy concert.Tiny bit loud for old ears, but enjoyed the Led Zeppelin tunes.
Loved performing there, the staff was great and very helpful for all of us. Great atmosphere.
Great place! Supports local acts and Veterans. Definitely going to catch more shows here.Update: 4Aug23 Attended a show here tonight and all the acts killed! Place is still the best for local music.
I really enjoyed my experience here. This is a great place to listen to live music and see local talent. Shawn the bartender was super cool. The atmosphere was awsome. Felt like a bunch of friends just hanging out together. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because they allow smoking inside. But thats just my personal preference. Definitely not a reason for me not to go back.
Great local music venue. Decent drink prices, parking is fine, good sound quality. The only thing I hate about the venue is they still allow smoking inside. I always feel like crud the next day after I spend the evening breathing in the smoke. Not to kention how bad we smell afterward!
Bartender shane is awesome! Regan is awesome, Franky is awesome and Ricardo on sound, its quadruple awesomeness at BFE. I had the best drinks, the best time and the best music experience at BFE in Houston! Rock lives at BFE, I Love It!!!!
Staff gives excellent hospitality! Nice atmosphere for Parties and special events! Will be back again ! Thanks so much for making my son Birthday Beautiful!💋💞
Horrible venue lol. No re-entry for ANYONE and that includes artists/performers. They charged an okay amount for most alcohol but some drinks were just overpriced especially for how common they were. Oh yeah and also no free water? They charged $3 for a water bottle and did not serve any in cups (which most of venues already do, for free). The stage was nice and so was the bar staff but honestly the people in charge of the door/sales were annoying. You should reconsider playing or coming here.
Went to a killer fest here. Great sound system. Ice cold beer. Awesome venue.
This place is a great little surprise. Ive been coming here for years to see my favorite bands. The patio is probably my favorite spot.
Love this place! Great live venue. I just dont like how they jack up the prices for bigger shows. Almost $5 for a domestic long neck is a bit high. Other than that BFE is the best live venue this side of 290.
Horrible experience we walked in & walked right back out... we purchased tickets online once we entered there was standing room only...not even one seat at the bar....the bar line was too long...this spot was extremely too small for the crowd/guest/customers it was over occupancy. Also the guy on stage I assumed he was trying to entertain the crowd he had on a pair of dingy jeans & a freaking under shirt we call them a wife beater any whoot not a good experience.
I very much enjoy the spot. I do feel that the price of beers are a bit much for my pocket. The sound wasnt bad. I do feel that the mix was a bit off.
Great ambience, they just need to revamp the place a little more. Great for the teenage hang, but not enough for the adults that wanna go listen to bands too. Drinks pretty pricey too.
These guys know what theyre doing, awesome music and great bar staff!
First time there with the hubs to see of course The Crue Tribute Houston! Great venue not too big not small! Good drinks and Had a Blast Amazing show! Good time
Live performances is amazing here
Havent been here in a long time and forgot how spacious this bar for concerts. This place host a lot of local talent and highly recommend your music be heard here. Will return to support our bands.
Not bad, staff good .Domestic beer could be dropped a dollar. Would allow for a few more drinks and tips. Cigarette smoke isnt enjoyable at all. It goes home with you. Take ear plugs, building isnt very large .
Million Dollar Red was awesome
BFE Rock club is conveniently located just north of 1960 on Jones road. Its an awesome small club environment to watch bands perform. They have a full service bar with just about anything you can imagine, also great prices and extremely friendly and helpful employees! If youre wanting to see one of your favorite rock bands in a small club environment this is definitely the place to be!
Reagan was one the hardest working barbacks I have ever seen! I never had to wait very long to be served or for someone to notice I needed a drink, even though it was a full house! The crowd was cool, and the sound quality was great! Id definitely go again, and I hope to see Reagan bartending! ;-.)
Love this place! Visited a friend in the area and we were planning on bar hopping to see what all the area offered. This was the 2nd and last stop. It was too much fun to go anywhere else! The staff was super friendly and the whole club just has a great vibe about it. I highly recommend this placeI live an hour away but I will definitely be back. Its worth the drive
Out in the boonies. Good drink specials amd bar prices. Staff seemed pretty friendly. Probably a good venue for a hair band or a led zeppelin tribute band. Unfortunately I was there for a punk show, and it just doesnt fill that bill very well. Not sure if they have a big local crowd there or what, but I felt rather out of place.
I had a great time with some good friends but I must say my favorite part was my outstanding waitress Cali who not only had the prettiest smile and the best shoes Ive ever seen but outstanding customer service hoping she takes me up on my offer for waffle House LOL :-)
Sound is always good, place is clean for a bar. I just dont like that smoking is allowed indoors. I often have to leave when it gets too smokey. Also drinks are expensive but good quality
They watered down my GD bourbon!!! I ordered it neat and it tasted like they cut it with warm tap water. Also, I like metal but it was stupid loud there. Bad acoustics perhaps? Will not go again unless Dimebag Darrell is resorected and they played a reunion tour there.
This venue is an out of the way little spot off Jones road, with a parking lot for maybe 50 cars next to some tire shop and a weave outlet lol. This aint warehouse live on that note but... a damn good oasis of sound for my buck.If youre a rock enthusiast, musician, or you happen to know the tribute, cover, or artist your going to see, BFE has one of the the best stages and sound for your buck. If a world famous Hall Of Fame rock band were coming to Houston and wanted to play a 200 person small venue and you somehow got standing room close to the stage. It would be the best concert Ive ever seen easily. It has just as much sound and presence as Warehouse, WOMH, Acadia, and Scout Bar. These places listed know what all the music deserves from opening act to headliner. The wait staff is nice. The layout of the house is a little awkward with the vip section and the bar and the back wall. Its like a j with the stage being the dot. If theres going to be a huge crowd get there early for close to stage standing, or good bar spot. The outdoor smoking area was a plus you dont have to leave to the parking lot to smoke. Couple of free pool tables. Some autographed drumheads on the walls. Not a bad atmosphere at all. Free parking. Cover and drinks were about the same as anywhere else. Restrooms were about what youd think at a rock club lol. No hand towel guys in there just enough space to handle your business and get out. Overall, come for the music, and sound. If the band is trash you may or may not enjoy.
Everything was good here except something very important. Unless youre right up front by the stage, the route to the bathroom goes though a crowd of people. It was extremely difficult to get through. So, my tip, start heading to the bathroom before you have to go.
Nice little place with some good live music. The staff is awesome and know their stuff. No kitchen so eat before you go. They have pool tables and sports on the TVs, too.
Ive been playing shows and just hanging out at BFE Rock Club since it was Forgetta Bout It, way back in the day. Always has, and always will be my favorite bar in Houston. Best owner, staff, and sound on the North side without question, and in Houston in my opinion.
This place is a music venue. Sometimes they have decent music. Its loud, and they overcharge for every drink.Sometimes they have all ages shows, when they do...They upcharge $5 at the door for anyone under 21.
Cool little bar. Nice spacious stage for performances. They do finger foods as well as the bar. We had a great time here.
Great venue with great bands.
Absolutely loved the venue. Hated the parking on a popular night. Although it’s a smoking venue, they have an outside patio. The sound was great and the host was funny between sets.
BFE is ok for what it is.Ive been about 10 timesThe bar is decently priced but Ive had to explain how to make more complex drinks that involve layers or more then 3 ingredients on a few times to bartenders. They serve 1 dollar jello shots most nights and thats pretty nice, the drinks are often strong. Beer selection is limited. The sound is good and typically on par. Esp if Dave is there, whos had 20 years experience in many a club and bar in houston. Honestly probably the best thing about BFE is the sound set up and mastering. The regulars leave a little to be desired. Almost always an all white crowd, the too small parking lot is almost always overcrowded with pick up trucks and cameros, with a few motorcycles. Theyre often kind but uncultured with monosylabic vocabulary and crude ideology. Ive never seen a fight a break out however and the restrooms are surprisingly well kept for a rock bar.The music is all over the place. Ive seen metal shows, punk shows, Indie electronic (once), post punk and other genres here. Some of the bands are good, some are terrible. Metal is king here and southern metal even more so. Gibson explorers painted with confederate flags played by someone with axle rose hair in a cowboy hat are not out of place or uncommon.Smoking is allowed in bar and the pool tables add a little something. There is hot fresh food for cheap and its rather good. All in all BFE is good bar if your in the boonies or a band you want to see is playing, its good for a break in the tedium of your more urban venues.
The drinks were ridiculously expensive. If you went outside you had to pay to get back in. The host was awesome and so was the Dj. Percformers had to pay more than regular guests to get in. Probably wouldn’t go back.
Really cool spot. Great bartenders even when busy they are on top of it. Live music was great, you could enjoy the band and still hold a conversation.
Great place to see live music! Excellent sound system and sound engineer. Cost effective national act ticket prices. Competive drink prices and fast service!
The place i go when we are feeling in the ROCK mood! Not much places in houston like this.only been twice,so far so good! SO more experiences to come .They had some deals on alcohol when we went.i would recommend
This is my home venue! We play here more than anywhere else! The bar staff is awesome! Frank (owner) is awesome!Great local music venue!
It is one of the best music venues in town and now smoke-free!
Great staff and prices, the venue and its floor plan and patio are spacious enough for many acts and events, sound and lights are adequate to meet a typical local to touring band Ryder and the parking lot is good, very important to be in the music business
One of the best bars ive ever been 2 great music and people how ever a shiner is $6.50 and its in a bottle not even draft.
It was just an ok venue
Great club! Bill Thompson, the owner custom built the stage with a huge rack of subwoofers underneath. Naturally, we bass players love that!
If you want to experience some of Houstons up and coming new artist, this has a great live musical entertainment experience for all ages.
Great place for Metal Concerts.. if you ever get a chance to see Beyond Oblivion or Dunamis play there, you should check them out.. Bar has a quick response time too..
The shows are always great! The bar staff is always great! But just be warned the venue staff is a little gruff. Dont take it personally, its a rock venue! They are a little grumpy... 😂😂😂
We love this place! Great atmosphere, great people great stage set up for the live entertainment. Would like to hear more Red Bay!
Great place to enjoy your alcoholic beverages and if youre lucky youll catch them on a night they have local music being performed on stage.
Come out come out. This place is the best with Rap completions hosted by Carlos !! Awesome bar as well. Good prices and easy parking. No drama. Just good vibes.
Always a great time rocking out at BFE. Ive seen some really great rock and roll artists there and you cant go wrong where theres big buck hd!
I love this venue! Live, local music, benefit concerts, and so much more. The people that work there are awesome too.
That place was awesome! Great sound, decent restrooms, and nice bartenders. Ill definitely be going back.
Awesome bartenders and good live music.
Great venue with a great staff😁
Ive been to several shows at this venue, and have never had a bad time. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Beer was overpriced, but the service was great. Very friendly staff. Ill definitely return if Im in the area and there is a show that I want to see.
Will definitely be going back next weekend THATS FOR SURE awesome waitress great music from local bands and a must see bartender
Im here for a music competition. We all had to be here at 6:30PM. Its 37 degrees outside. Its 40 degrees inside....👎. The pipes are broken so we cant use the restrooms. And we cant leave until the building until 12:00 midnight or we forfeit the competition....❄⛄💀
Love this place ... its the greatest Rock club in the world ..great staff always a pleasure to go there..I save up money just to spend there... love it
Super cool place, great service, and awesome music.
Great sound, great stage, lovely bartenders. Huge patio with stage for when its not boiling outside either

BFE is a great venue. They are professional and give great advice to artists and its great experience to network with others.
Great place to see live shows, allow local artists to play.
Awesome place to see live music, bar is always a rockin!
Nice place, outlandishly overpriced beer ($4 Lonestars $6 shiner) 👎👎, and typically not friendly to ins & outs
One of the best stages in the local area. Home to some awesome bands too!
Great place to see bands!
My friends band plays there and they are really good DEAD SET RED check emout!!!
