Always a great time going salsa dancing! if youre thinking about going, stop thinking and just go. Take cash for parking I highly recommend valet if you have a luxury automobile. Fellas dress to impress :), the ladies definitely do.

If you dont mind dancing with people your parents age then this place has a band that will make you dance like Jim Carry in the Mask! The music is Phenomenal! Compensates for the $10-$20 parking, $15 cover pp & $14 drinks. Come for the live entertainment, totally worth the experience.

Great atmosphere, great music 🎶I love that people can really just have fun here as long as you have a love for dancing. There is a bar, but you don’t need a drink to have fun. :)Everyone is pretty friendly.The band was awesome! They were so talented. It sounded as good as the radio.The only down side is that parking gets packed fast.It would be great if Tropicana could expand since it’s in demand. ;)

I just paid $14 for the most watered down drink Ive had in a while. 4 of us together probably spent $150 and not a one of us had even the slightest buzz. We werent trying to get drunk or anything like that, but at least I want to taste the vodka for what we paid. And I thought I got ripped off in vegas last weekend.

Every time I come to Houston I go to Tropicana because my friends (always!!) are there, the dancing is phenomenal the dancers are amazing, people are really sweet + you work your cardio like no tomorrow!! I had the BEST time!! Like always. P.S. shootout: the manager is a great guy - he helped me tremendously with something last night. Thank you!! Hands down a LATAM Club you can’t afford to miss!

Full Orchestra at the Best Latin Club for Salseros. Of course, also, Bachata Cumbia Merengue. Friday and Saturdays has an Orchestra, which all of the rotating ones are great. Tuesday and Thursdays- DJ- one with an actual great playlist. All of the time.After so many years, it is still pure joy to see Orchestra Salmerum.

I was there for a salsa band a few months ago. Loved the place. Great atmosphere, beautiful people, great music, and great dancing. Happy they have valet services and that you can buy and reserve tables. They have top shelve drinks as well. This is not a place to be cheap at, if you want good service you will pay. But it’s worth it. While I read complaint about parking, what I would say is that if can’t afford or don’t want to spend the $25 for Parking this is not the place for you. This is place does have a higher standard and quality that outperforms most if not all other salsa clubs in Houston.

We came on a Thursday, so Im rating it on a Thursday, it was ok, was a little empty, ciroc red Berry with Sprite and cranberry was $10.50, long island was $12.50... they played a lot of salsa which was disappointing, we wanted meregue or bachata.... They charged $5 to park in a lot they dont own, it belongs to the shopping center, but at night time when the other stores are closed I guess they claim it? I didnt argue about 5 bucks, but found that a little weird...

This is the worst club I have ever been too. The ladies at the front were so rude and nasty to my friend and I for no reason. The music is mediocre, they play only slow salsa music. Very little variety of music genres. I paid $50 for just 1 hours of little to no fun. $20 for parking, $30 for the entrance. Will never come back.

Made a reservation for a birthday the lady at the front is rude I told her about my reservation she said there’s no reservation didn’t even bother to check I had to point at the book showing her the name. On the phone I was told a price when arriving was a different price with parking same thing, the lady at our table rude as well after telling her no we will not purchase the bottle which it’s not the full size the normal typical bottle like any other club she was bother and took the reserved sign told us in order for us keep the table we have to buy drinks with her but obviously we didn’t not with that attitude club wasn’t pack for me and my friends taking up space or stoping her getting tip…… Band was great!

This is a great place, a place where you can go with friends and also family, different cultures and they are awesome on customer service and attention, I want to end up by saying that the place is very clean and the best of all is that there isnt Hookah which keeps the place on a family environment.

I went on one of the Tuesday ladies’ night and had a blast! The music mix was salsa and bachata, mostly good salsa, which I was looking for. Lots of variety of dancers and good leads. Starts filling up from 11 pm onwards.

The clientele is very snobby if youre just a novice salsa Rumba dancer or have your own dance partner wait service is awful cover charge is ridiculous music is good I thought it. Plus finding somebody to dance with that isnt trying to take you home and get laid is about impossible. Feels like youre at a high school dance in at the sidelines hoping someone will ask you to dance.

This is the best Latin spot to come dance and share drinks with friends. Great management and music.

Good atmosphere, nice settings for a night club just like someone would expect the night club to be. Music was good, both DJ and the band. Great dance floor, spacious. A lot of decent dancers. The only thing we did not like - the drinks were extremely expensive.

This place was amazing. It was a group if 6 of us, from all different backgrounds. The live band was great. There was also another spot within here that played reggaeton and a mix of latin music. The drinks were right and the bartenders very patient. I will definitely be back.

The music was ok and the salsa band was great. However, the dress code for a place such as this one that charges a good amount of money for enjoying a couple of hours must be strict. I saw people wearing tennis shoes, t-shirts, cargo pants and even beanie hats. That gives Tropicana more the aspect of a corner bar rather than the real night club it used to be many years ago!. also, the check for my table was a number written on a napking without details about the charges. that was very unprofessional and suspicious!!!.

Club Tropicana got a bad reputation few years ago because apparently, drugs were going on there. I believe they cleaned the place. The parking lot and indoors a safer now. The band is great and there is plenty of room to dance.

Wouldn’t be returning to this club and wouldn’t recommend it. We were told that my wife and I would be comped and when we showed up they only comped her. We were charged $200 for a bottle of tequila patron that cost $50 at Spec’s which they purchase for less wholesale. I know they have to make their profit, but this is robbery.I asked the DJ to play a song that my wife requested since it was her birthday but was never played and the selection of songs, he played weren’t even good and was better off playing something from YouTube instead. The live band was less than impressive and was highly disappointed at the money and time we wasted here last Saturday. Knowing what I know now, I would have gone to Gloria’s or elsewhere instead.

Last night was a complete waste of driving time and money. There was no band, but still charged $15 plus parking. That was a rip-off. They didnt tell anyone that there was no band. I complained to the manager, but the guy was completely unresponsive. His sorry ass excuse was “the band cancelled”. Then, I asked “ why the $15 cover charge for and why there is no sign that there is no band tonight?” Even though I didn’t even set foot past the cashier because I saw that there was no band, they refused to give me my money back. They rip-off everyone last night. I will not be going there anymore. The place used to be $10 with a live band, then a year or so ago it increased to $12. This year they got even greedier and increased it to $15 (nothing added, no renovation, same old place and same routine weekend band). As a result, even on a good Saturday, the place is not even half full. People moved to other places, Which I applauded because the price is too high for what people get in return, plus parking and drinks. This is Houston for God’s sake. This manager should be fired because he is running the place to the ground. It used to be a good place. Now for a couple its easily added up to $100 for the night with cover charge, plus parking and drinks. That is NOT sustainable for the crowd that used to go there.Is the owner paying attention?

I really like this place because of Thursdays and Tuesdays nights. They teach you a little bit of Latin dances like Salsa and Bachata and if you are new to these dances, you would probably love it. Besides, Although the dance floor is pretty small, it is not bothering that much. The live band music which starts to play around 11 pm makes the club great. they are really good. I have not been there on weekends yet but, I strongly recommended for weekdays if you like dancing and a neat area. not creepy vibes. Drinks are moderate price.

Great music both live and DJ, the service is slow or short handed, but by far the best dance club we’ve been to in many years. One big big problem. My fiancé and I almost lost our hearing after this past Saturday night. We’ve been to CT 4 times and this time when we departed at 1am our ears were numb and ringing, which lasted through most of today (Tuesday). The DJ/sound man also let out some noise shreeks like I’ve never experienced. The music all though good was much too dangerous…please fix the problem as we love the club.

Went there on a Friday after work, like @10:00pm, pay the cover charge, $10.00. The music was fine, but no place to seat, every table with a reserved name on them. No bar stools around the bar. And of course the VIP area guarded like Fort Knox.

Got robbed inside my purse this week! they stole my phones and credit cards! Plus the manager didnt care at all since when I asked to look at the camera, he told me the cameras are not filming everywhere, just the bar! and never called me back...so as a woman you better not get harassed in another spot than the bar, or too bad for you!

We went due to a friends raving review. She had a blast with her girls the first time they went....Our first mistake was to arrive with more guys than girls in the group. I was wearing a button up shirt, pants, and sneakers and nearly got kicked out because the bouncer thought I was wearing running shoes. I was not, and other men in the club were wearing dirty vans and shorts. Made no sense but once the bouncer saw he was losing a wealthy patron of i wasnt let in, they made an exception. Pretty upsetting right off the bat but we went in and bought drinks. The manager welcomed us and hoped we have a good time.Music was great, and we danced for about an hour until the same bouncer came back as a high school hero. He put a damper on our fun because my buddy was not dancing while on the dance floor... He was crossing the floor back from the restroom and was made felt like a criminal.My friends wife attempted to sit down after dancing a while and our same friend from the front came by, said that chair couldnt be sit on if it wasnt AT the table and pushed her off very rudely. Push men all you want but that is no way to treat a lady.Will definitely not come back. Dont go if youre not a girl; youll be on a slippery slope to begin with.

The club as is pretty good. Good music, environment, customer service, and drinks. I would say and I would like management to come up with a better parking solution. I arrived at 850 pm; was not sure if I wanted to stay or leave, but as stated before, I liked the Venue, reminded me of Miami, Fl.As I was leaving the club, this parking attendant gets on me and says you must pay $20. I told the guy that I had gotten there before the club even opened for the night, I ate in the restaurant next to it and everything.He took a picture of my license plate and said we are going to raquear (spanish word that I dont even know what it means) your car. I told the guy; you saw me arriving, you saw me parking, you did not at any point in time said I have to pay to park on a public shopping plaza.He said if you dont have money then come sundays...very rude, disrespectful, and very out of line.It was my first time there and not sure if I want to go back. I did enjoy the place though.Regardless of the parking situation, venue is pretty good.

Went on a Tuesday while in Houston for work and had a great time. Admittedly I got there a little early, I was jetlagged and knew I would be falling asleep later in the evening. The place is in a little stripmall and I didnt know what to expect, I think they were still setting up when I arrived so I went and got some food before coming back. There were a few people there for the class so I changed shoes. Plenty of reserved cards on the tables but I found a place where I could stash them. $10 for entry including the class. The teacher was a nice guy and the class had a good mix of guys and girls. It was an intermediate class and he did his best to work with the beginners. Once that was over, the music started which was a mix of Salsa, Bachata and Merengue (yes to the first two, no to the last, but I cant expect my music all the time). As it got later and later, more people showed up and they were all good dancers. There was a birthday party that preferred dancing as a group, but for the most part, the dancers were all of good standard.Left just before midnight as more people were heading in, I should have stayed longer but I was getting far too tired to last much longer. Thanks for a good night!

Great club, great urban and tropical music, yes it can be a bit pricey so if having money isn’t your thing then do not go, but definitely had a great time and will be returning

For all lovers of salsa dancing this is the place for you. One catch: the best night of the week is on Tuesday.If youre brave enough to go out on Tuesday night you will be sure to have a delight. All of the salsa dancers who take classes go here on Tuesday night for a good, fun, innocent time. What do I mean by innocent? No one is trying to hit on you or hook up. Everyone is there to practice dancing or whatever new move they recently learned at one of the many salsa studios in Houston.Its my favorite night and place to go out for a dance.But dont be afraid if youve never taken any classes. People are generally patient and understanding on this night just give them a heads up, because odds are they have been in your dancing shoes.

Place is much bigger inside than what it looks like. Dont order any fancy drinks just keep it simple. Vodcka tonic etc. Good atmosphere

Price gouging. $20 to park, cover charge is $15, buckets are $40 and shot are $11. Just go to Neon Boots on Hempstead. Drinks are a fraction of the price and there is a much better mix of music. I will be notifying city inspector and BBB!

Not New York...so get there early if you like Salsa. It starts to disappear as the night goes on..Good dancers are a rare find, however there are a few. I have been told this is the best Salsa spot Houston has to offer.

*** Do not go to this place**Its a total rip-off, lets just start with the parking, my fiancé and I drove all the way from Tomball to this horrible venue, we pulled up to the parking lot just to be told that they would charge us $20 to park close to the club and if we wanted we could choose a most modest pricing area in the back so we drove around and almost got hit by one of the valet parking attendant which was driving one of the customers vehicle at a rapid pace thru a steep ditch and not caring to bottom up this high end vehicle, once we got to the attendant he told me that they had 2 different prices depending where you wanted to park, so I paid him $10 and asked me to park way out in the back by a wooden fence where there is no lighting at all, so I asked him why I couldnt park close to the street since it was empty, his reply was you have to pay me $20 of you want to do that at that point I asked for my money back ,we moved to a parking that was NOT connected to their lot and he came to tell me that I couldnt park there because it belonged to them also...he then thread me and told me that if I was going to get rough he would call the cops on me..I said please call them and I will be here seating and perhaps they could explain why was I asked to move out of a parking lot that belonged to a complete non related business.By that time my fiance and I decided to go elsewhere where we could be treateed with respect. I could imagine what the service is like inside! And after reading a lot of reviews,Im glad we made the decision of not ever setting foot in a place like this.If youre looking for a good place to dance please go elsewhere.

The best hispanic nightclub so far. They play mostly salsa and bachata, my favorite. La gente super bella y y super good dancers, so if u are looking to dance all night like a professional or just better your technique and style this is your club. Ppl very nice a humble. Drinks like any good club a lil more than other places but they are good.

The place is good and the music ... But the service of the waiters is really bad.. If you are in a table you are forced to consume from them and is bad idea you go direct to the bar because they came to you and ask for leave because you are not consuming ..even you are having drinks on your table..

I was here about a month ago, and I absolutely loved the venue, and the bartenders, the girls at the bar were so nice to me and my friends, definitely will be coming back!

The “valet parking attendant “ was the worst. If you care for your car don’t use their “parking service “. The attendants are rude specially the one that takes care of the “lot “ behind the building. BIG RiP OFF!!

The normal rate is $ 9 for valet parking, the man always wants to charge $ 20, he moves the car around the corner and makes us walk arriving early.

This started out as a tango lesson, and then after deciding to stay for more, it turned into hell. The live band was painfully loud. My ears were literally hurting, and I had to leave the building to escape damage to my hearing.

The problem they have is that they always have the same songs, they need a D.J. who knows about salsa from before and today, they are playing the same thing, the same thing always, they dont know about classic salsa, or the new one, if the salsa genre has something, its repertoire, they need to change D.J. They do not have chairs available, all tables and chairs are on reservation. First and last time I come. Gloria’s is way way WAY better! Who the hell stands still for 5 hours straight. Not even the bar has chairs available.

You find respectful people of all nationalities and you have a great time, there are rarely fights, the friendly staff, the live music with excellent bands with a lot of rhythm, just the way we like it...all of us dancers.
