Friendly attentive staff. New to the area, they adopted me right in. Its like Cheers, everyone knows your name!Food is great, I havent tried anything I dont recommend. They just had a makeover and have some new dishes and drinks. Try the Triple Play, its my new favorite!Definitely stop in, look for Robbie. If you play the right song he will come sing with you!

Nice little local pub. Good vibe, nice service, not to expensive. I’m here right now. Joe Joe and Jason are taking very good care of me. Nice people.I Had the BYO Burger.? Red onions, lettuce served on the side, just right. It’s close to the Gray street, Greyhound station if you want to wait for a bus. The station can get a little sporty after the sun goes down. Foods what you’d expect. Not to expensive. I always appreciate clean bathrooms. They don’t have to be fancy but clean.

Stumbled across this place after leaving the nail salon next door. My mom and I just left and as soon as we got in the scorching hot car, I realized my car battery was completely dead. We tried a few more times, we decided to call a few places but the heat was getting to us. My mom suggested that we sit at the pub and attempt to ask for help. We ordered drinks and my mom courageously asked the waitress if she could get us some help from someone who can help us jump our car. She was so nice and agreed to help, she came back with our drinks and the owner of the pub offered his help to us. He was so patient and willing to be generous enough to get us on our way. I was extremely grateful because our self care day seemed ruined. But he really showed so much genuine kindness I almost cried. The waitress assured us we were in good hands and he was a good man. He didn’t disappoint. We ordered fried mushrooms and cheese fries, they were so delicious!! Everyone was so nice to us and we will never forget it. Thank you so much again! 6/6/24 was the date, if you go here you will be in the presence of angels. Even the customers were happy there and I can tell he had good clientele. Don’t hesitate to come.

This bar has a cool vibe and a great staff. Its a Good place to go with friends for a drink and good bar food. Lots of big TVs for the games of the day and the chicken wings are nice and crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The sauce and flavor on the Buffalo(not spicy and no flavor) and lemon pepper wings were good, but the spicy dry rub was the best. Wing day is Thursday I recommend you try it.

This Place Used To Be Good. Not Sure What Happened. When I Went There Was Barely Anybody There And The Server Still Rarely Came To Us. She Was On Her Phone And Not Caring About Service. The Quality Of The Food Has Declined. My Friend Got A Burger And They Put 2 Thinly Made Patties To Make It The Size Of A Big One. No , A Double Cheese Burger Was Not Requested. It Was Just Lousy. And I Usually Get The Wings And They’re Great , But This Time They Were Far From It.

Tried to go with my wife but couldnt because there was no way to get inside the building. Some jerk in a big truck blocked the sidewalk on one side, there are vertical bars along the sidewalk, and you can barely fit through the parking blocks, thats if you can fit through the cars. Do better.Edit: This is about Midtown Pub. We were at the address indicated by the business in the response. There was a huge Dodge Ram parked out front. And an old green Camaro convertible. We were just there and the parking lot wasnt clear.

Stopped in on a Monday afternoon. There were five people at the bar and three people at a table. Older guy w a goatee and a bald spot took my drink order rather quickly but then was too busy talking to the five people at the end of the bar rather than ask me if I wanted food. I had the menu out and was looking forward to a pub burger. By the time my beer was half empty I just motioned to the other guy to close me out.I’m guessing with a place like this you don’t get good service if you’re not a regular or unless you look rich.I’ll never be back.

A true hidden gem in the middle of htown.The squad made me feel like a regular the second I stepped inside. The wings were piping hot with flavor and service was super attentive. With every game on the TVs - this will definitely be a frequent hangout for us.The exceptional depth to their bar top is inviting and very comfortable for a quick (or extended) visit.Can’t wait for some of their crawfish in a couple months. Will definitely be back.

Long Island Iced Tea had barely any flavor, felt very ignored sitting at the bar even though there were only a few customers there.

First time customer, for lunch. Ordered BYO burger. Excellent. French fries are super. I like the deconstruction of having the condiments on the side. Will be back.

They advertise prime steaks..B.S I had the worst ribeye steak ever. Charged 26.95. It was more like a 12.95 steak from Sizzler. I do not recommend this place !

Ive been a patron of this establishment for at least 6 or 7 years now. The owner is sweet, smart, and incredibly polite. Employees have all been there for 5+ years, typically closer to 10. Always, always, get amazing service, and delicious food when I attend. Sad that I no longer live in Houston. I havent found another place that has more delicious wings than them, SERIOUSLY!! Took my husbands grandmother there to try their wings, and she was instantly HOOKED! She absolutely had to have them for her huge 80th birthday bash! If you happen to make it to 80, you truly should be able to have anything your heart desires. Those wings were a HUGE, HUGE hit! Their Greek salad with shrimp, and chicken fried steak should both be on your MUST TRY list.Im telling ya, this place is a real gem, and I really miss it.

If you like bacon, order the BLT and ask for extra bacon. When you get it you wont even be able to see the lettuce or tomato, and damn is it good! Almost 1.5 inches of bacon 🥓 😋😋😋

First time and I’m disappointed because I asked for bbq sauce on the burger no sauce. I said no cheese over and over again, there’s cheese. The meat has no flavor. My condiments are on the side instead of on the burger. Idk what I’m paying for at this point.

My third time visiting this location. I went with a female to enjoy the wings/bar food this time because I enjoyed the food last time. Every person behind the bar including the owner Robbie was mean. Beer was completely flat . No one should support this place because they arent about community they are just mean individuals had a bad time there . I didnt order food because I was uncomfortable come to think of it I had a bad experience all three times.

We came in on a Thursday about 3 weeks ago. We had a lot of fun and will have coaches in our regular Thursday nights out rotation! We stayed for song bingo and had a ton of fun. The DJ was friendly and fun w/ a good mix of music that wasn’t to loud. The DJ definitely helps influence our decision to return. We enjoyed that it seemed easy for people from their 20s to us in our 40’s to enjoy the music and pub. The drinks were cold w/ a friendly staff w/ great service! The burgers were good and not to much salt seasoning.

I love this place. I should try more items. The wings are great and I love the service. They hooked me up w extra today. I get the 8pc every thursday and they never disappoint. Be ready in 10 min or less. My job comes here for after-work happy hour sometimes and they have batches of wings ready within 15-20 minutes. The owner cool as hell

The wings are good. The drinks are priced right. The regulars are a good gang of folks but the thing that stands out is the charisma of the staff. They smile and make you feel welcome..JoJo, Brayden, Kyra, and Jason do their jobs well. They have plenty of free parking which is a rarity in midtown. Its not a hip or trendy spot. Just a good solid spot to have a drink and smile.

Half priced wings on Thursday and the dry rubbed wings are on point. I really love the fact that their celery isnt all soggy when you order take out. The staff is super friendly and courteous. The place is clean and they treat me and my Coworkers with respect. Highly recommend you stop by and check them out!

Food is great, beer is cold, service is just ok, but there is no great service anywhere really. You will love the atmosphere and the bar keeps out the bad element. It is a very relaxing and fun place to enjoy a few drinks.

This midtown gem is one of the best sports bars here in town. The staff is awesome Jo Jo is a sweetheart and will take care of ya. Robbie the owner is usually around and likes to welcome guests and make sure everyone is enjoying themselves.

A wonderful place to go! My boyfriend and I visited on a Monday and the service was fantastic. We both got the pub burgers, which we highly recommend, and there was a special to top it off. We also got the fried mushrooms as an appetizer and for the price, you got so many of them. The prices in general were really good. Highly recommend!

I just dont know which is better, the food, the DJ or the owner. The whole place took us back to when it was about guest service!! This is our spot going forward!!

Best wings in Houston. Writing this after multiple times being at Coaches and many other places in Houston. I’ll change this review if I ever find better. The staff are really great.

Been coming here for over 5 years..I love this place. Kenzie, Jason, Ashley and the rest of the staff are all great and make you feel very welcome.The one star off is for the godawful Karaoke they have recently been doing on Saturday night. I dont have problem the karaoke personally, but why would you have this during the peak of college football at a SPORTS BAR. I Hope the new owner realizes that Saturday sports sells itself and should reserve karaoke for a weekday or non sports day.

Dive type sports bar which is my personal preference. A real bar. Good food, good atmosphere. I’d say its more for grown folks who don’t want to dress up and just want to go to a bar for what a bar is. Affordable drinks and bar food.

Very nice staff, tons of TVs, and really great food! Also, food specials are fantastic (Daily & Lunch specials!). They have awesome wings, but if youre not a wing person, you can get the Buffalo sauces (or any of them) for your tenders.Appetizers: go for the pickle chips!Side note: a downside would be that they have a jukebox, and if someone pays to play music (who does that these days), that overrides game sound. So if you are wanting to hear the game, hope no one is playing music.

The service was very subpar. It took 10 minutes between sitting to order drinks. There’s just not enough staff but the young woman, Ashley who served us was very inattentive. She took a shot with other customers while we were waiting to pay The food wasn’t anything memorable and I definitely wouldn’t return. The vodka cranberry was decent and for the price you get a lot of food (although mediocre) so i’m leaving two instead of 1 star.

Local Midtown hangout. We tried the cheese steak egg rolls with spicy horseradish sauce and .90 cent hot 🔥 wings. Both were tasty. The staff was friendly and Robbie gave us great service.The only negative was the sound. The TVs were echoing throughout the place and the volume was way up there! Then we all had to listen to the Baby Shark theme song 🎵 several times as a commercial break.Did I mention the guy in the parking lot smoking crack and the abandoned suitcase with all the belongings scattered about? Also there was trash everywhere. Houston, clean it up please!

First time going to Coaches. Had a party of 10 for a little meeting. Food was great. Service was good. You can tell the regulars are definitely well taken care of. Non-regulars may have to wait for a few but will get service. We will definitely be back.

Pretty chill spot to watch the fights. The food was meh, not bad but not great. They were out of a couple things like potato skins and modelo. The restroom was dirrrrttttyyyy. I will come back but just to drink.

Worst pub ever!!! Walked in with a group of friends, separate parties. One person from each of the parties went up to the bar and were refused service stating they could order after they sat down. This automatically made the “automatic gratuity” kick in. Well played, bartender. We sat down and everyone ordered their drinks/food. I am not a big drinker and past effects of Covid have made ordering things difficult. I tell the bartender “I would like something with ice and really sweet”. Bartender rolls her eyes and scoffs at me. I said “wow, great attitude there!” She brings whatever drink she made…there is something black and fuzzy. Take it to the bar. Her response “it’s not mold, it’s probably a bug”. How is either one acceptable?! Will never go back!!!

Came for Gotham Pizza next door, saw this place and figured I could go for one more. Pleasantly surprised, nice mix of sports bar and dive vibes with great service and friendly atmosphere. Definitely will plan to come back here soon!

Bland, not good food. Nachos and draft beer were stale. The egg rolls appetizer was cold in the center. Mozzarella sticks are the only decent thing. The one true bright spot was the service.

Cant say enough good things about this place. The new owner Robbie came in and improved the menu and edited drink specials. Always a great and friendly bar staff, terrific menu and very affordable drinks. Highly recommend!

First of all, I love sports bars that offer daily specials. I came on steak night! A ribeye! And it came with au jus which was amazing! Im usually an A-1 for all my steaks. I didnt touch it for this one. All the food was really good! Server/bartender was very attentive and nice even though there was a good crowd here. Ill be back!

Great place. Its like Cheers. Great atmosphere with the regulars also great food and drinks. Except for Frank. You see Frank, Run! Not outside, run towards Jason the bartender. Not because he will do anything but get you another drink. If you didnt get the last part was a joke. Ha ha.Honestly, its a great chill spot and serves great food compared to actual bar food. The music selection is great everyday.During football season its great atmosphere. Especially for NCAA. And also for March Madness.No dress code and free parking.

Sort of a Cheers throw-back. Low key 95% of the time. Virtually never a meat market. *Excellent* pub-grub! Great staff! Survived the pandemic! Still an excellent escape from the drama that most mid-town bars/pubs are. Great food, clientele and service. In late May 2022, the bar was sold to a new owner. Only minor changes and tweaks to the bar and menu (a bit of sprucing up and expanding the menu) so far, although the house specialty lasagna is gone 😞. Its Still Midtowns Cheers! 🍻

I came in after my nail appointment next door because it was pouring rain and I had walked from my building. So I figured Ill grab a drink till the rain clears. But the bartender was so rude and said she doesnt wanna serve me. My Id had expired 4 days ago...So I left and walked in the rain and was very upset about how I was treated because that doesnt change the fact that Im 30 years old and my government is still considered valid. I live a block away and the bartender treated me like I was one of the homeless or something. Clearly u don’t want a good tip or any business

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The country fried steak is either store brought frozen or the cook just cant cook. The waitress recommends the jalapeno mac and cheese that is like elbow noodles in jalapeno juice no cheese. Writing this review sitting at the table indisbelief. The best thing will be leaving out the door. If the waitress will ever come to the table and let us pay.

Stopped by today, and I cant remember the last time an order of wings were still piping hot after I had eaten half of them! Try the Spicy Dry Rub flavor first - you wont be disappointed. Courteous service, good food, mixed crowd.... my new local go-to bar.

Worst customer service I’ve experienced in Houston. Racist and unfriendly. Upon entering the bar, the bartender was rude and cold and made us feel unwelcome. She had an attitude and actually started to argue with my friend about her ID. We were the only POC there and the bartender was a blonde caucasian girl. It’s unfortunate we STILL have to deal with bias, prejudice and racism in 2022 but that’s the world we live in. We’re so glad we decided to leave and not give them our business. We ended up going to another place nearby where we received phenomenal service. Skip this place, you’ll be glad you did.

Good bar to watch a game, and enjoy a variety of food. Drink prices are pretty good and the staff was nice and delivered food quickly. I wish the place was bigger, but I maybe thats a good thing. My only real complaint was the the wait staff although they were nice, didnt come back to my table enough. But they were walking around constantly. The volume is usually really low for the game, so you might be mindful of that if you visit. The crowd here is a middle aged bunch (40-50s) sprinkled with 30 somethings, so dont expect any crazy, out of hand patrons. Overall, the bar is great, food is tasty, and I will definitely come back.

Great dive bar - really good apps and drinks, decent service, but the price cant be beat. Our group of 6 split wings, loaded fries, bunch of appetizers, and we were satisfied.

CAUTION! BE CAREFUL!I had a horrible experience here. I parked in the Coaches parking lot and went across the street for 5 minutes and came back. I entered Coaches and stayed for 2 and a half hours. I ordered drinks and food. While in Coaches I got an onstar theft alert. I called the police and found out my car was towed out of the lot. I called the tow company and was cussed out. I got my receipt and was told by Coaches to call a rep at the tow company to get my car back. No one answered. I called Coaches and asked for them to speak to the tow company. Coaches told me they did and because I left the lot briefly before going inside I had to pay the tow fee. I ended up paying $270 dollars to get my car back. I was not reimbursed. No one seemed to care I was actually a patron and spending money there. My receipt said 6:30 and I was towed after 8:30. This is very suspicious behavior and I feel like I was getting scammed. Be very careful when dealing with this establishment.

My first visit was great, friendly staff, fast service, great happy hour! Second time I brought my coworkers with me and the service was not as great (not available, couldnt remember our orders when he did return and seemed a bit frustrated). Wont stop me from coming again and recommend this place to others. Prices are great and TVs everywhere on different game channels. Music was a good mix as well!

Fun, chill spot. Lots of TVs, and in general, friendly bar staff. New owner looking to expand on current theme, and Im looking forward to it. More cocktails, wider for selection, better trained staff, without sacrificing the vibe.

It is a nice sports bar in midtown. The food and drink prices are quite reasonable but watch out, the prices listed on the website are different than what they charge in the bar. I pointed it out to the manager and they honored them but watch out.

I had a fantastic time here tonight! Ashley and Jason are superstars!! They are so kind and attentive! I accidentally ran into Ashley a couple times, I had a wobbly chair, but she was so kind about it. This is a fantastic place to be! They treat you very well! Highly recommend!

A solid neighborhood sports bar with tasty pub eats. Parking is amble and the wings are delicious. The staff are attentive. Make sure to check out their specials, one of the few establishments in the area with drink and food specials everyday.

Stopped in to watch the Packers game after being in Houston, was a nice atmosphere and service was decent... the homeless people outside not the best and the kicker for me was I was there for one reason...THE PACKERS GAME, they had 1 TV showing the game and with 2 mins to go they just change the channel and didnt even bother to ask if anyone was watching it. Would not go back.

Was in town for Giants v Houston. We had a group of about 50 and Coaches hosted our party Friday night. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive. Food was outstanding. I had a tuna steak that was cooked perfect.

Came here for a Christmas gathering of my nurse co-worker friends on a Friday evening. We were pretty loud and having lots of fun. The music was too low and when asked if the owner could turn the music up they denied. I ordered a long island ice tea and could barely taste any alcohol. It was so sweet. I asked the waitress if they could remake it. She came back with the same drink and said the owner of the bar made this drink and is refusing to remake it. Wow! I refused the drink and ordered a crown and coke. While I had fun with my co-workers, I was very disappointed in the service. Not the waitress, but the owner. We all agreed to pick a new spot next gathering.

I got charged $80 on my card for no reason. I got a total of 3 shots and they double charged my card without my consent. Horrible service and the bartenders seemed too rushed for a spot with no customers.

Youve had a hard days work. You want no nonsense. You just want a cool beer and a warm meal. This is the place for you. Nothing special, beers and food are average, but the free parking, casual relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff make this place a gem. Whenever Im in town, I always make a point to visit.

Compared to the surrounding bars, this is a no-frills, locals dive. Tons of TVs for sports lovers. Except a few of the menu items (fried mushrooms, Im looking at you), food is consistently good. During crawfish season, they sell platters at $7 per pound. Its not heavily seasoned, so some may be disappointed.

If I had the option of ZERO stars, Id give it to Coaches. Service is terrible, attitude of staff is combative, AND those happy hour prices -- get ready for flat beer, the liquor bottles are watered down and (if you are so graced with someone who comes back to your table), the wings are burnt/over cooked. Should have known by seeing all the others WITHOUT food.I had a stomach ache after sipping on part of the drink. We took a sample home to see liquor content. It was 11% for a rum with a shot of Coca-Cola! Seriously??!! What a rip off...

This place is okay. If it wasnt for the absolutely gorgeous women that work here I wouldnt come back. Food made me sick twice. This can be fixed by simply cooking the food. Drinks were pretty cheap considering that its in midtown. So, dont eat, drink only and its a good place to start in midtown.

In town for two weeks for work. Hit this up night one for some sports and food. Great atmosphere, tons of sports, food and beer were great. Barkeep Mackenzie was fantastic. Will return.

We Iive close and wanted to eat some food and have a drink on Rockets game day. So, we walked in. Nobody sat us down. Girl behind the bar makes eye contact, continues serving drinks. I go, okay, I guess we seat ourselves.We sit at the table, grab the menu, and immediately notice that all food items are staggeringly overpriced. Sit, wait... 10 minutes goes by. We stand up to see if anyone knows we exist. We decide to give it a little more time... Another 10 minutes... We walk out. Same bartender sees us walk out with a smirk.We went to Tailgates in Midtown instead. Immediate service, drinks at an affordable price, food was awesome, game was on, service was the best weve had. Coaches is simply NOT IT.

Don’t come here unless u want you’re car to be broken into or towed. The owners really like to pick and choose who they serve. So save yourself the humiliation and go somewhere you’re appreciated

Unlimited supply of Miller Lite. Spent most of my 2 years in Texas here. Coach is the man. Ashley and Jason will make you feel like a regular off the bat. Pound for pound probably the best wings in midtown. If its a 98 degree Saturday in September and youre sick of waiting for an overpriced drink at Little Woodrows give this place a try. I can assure you the blinds will be closed, AC set to 65, and Navy vs. East Carolina is playing on the main screen for some reason. Tell em Zach sent ya and take care of his tab while youre at it

Great spot for an order of 20 wings and some beer in a nice, non-pretentious Houston bar. Highly recommend for those coming from out of town that want to feel like theyre at their local dive.

Nice neighborhood sports bar with lots of TVs, good bar food and lots of specials. Amongst all the craziness in midtown, this is a nice laid back bar with a decent beer selection, friendly staff, and great prices. They have your standard bar fare - wings, etc. They have food and drink specials most days of the week, even weekends.

Robbie and the crew are great. Good wings and service. If you need a great neighborhood bar to go to this is the place.

This is THE place in midtown on a Sunday if youre in the mood for some football. Every game on with the home team on the big screen. Food is on the great side of good, not expensive but satisfying. Highly recommend the place.

Bartenders are great. Perfect divebar personalities. Food is great, love the fish tacos. Great healthy salad choices as well.

I recently called to see if a fight was showing at the pub and Jason hung up in my face as soon as he told me No. Not knowing if I had any other questions, I felt he had no interest in assisting me. Ive never been to this location and I will make it a point to never go or recommend to friends and family. Thank you Jason.

Love this place! Most of all Sammy. Hes the best! Always greets you by name and has your drink in hand before you get to the table.

A nice little sports bar with suprisingly decent food. (Its no gastropub, but the burgers are pretty damn good.) The service is great and theres less of the usual midtown frat-boy crowd.

Great wings and apps, cold beer and tons of televisions. This is a low key spot to watch college football but be prepared for the crowds on Sunday.

Wednesday specials Steaks n Texas Beer n Liquor. The food was so good, from the appetizers to the steaks mac n cheese n loaded potatoes!

One of the best spots in the area. The staff was friendly and observant. It has a cool feel to it. They have so many great reviews for a reason.

First time here walk in had to seat myself nobody didn’t notice us for about 10 minutes before asking did we want to order food was a no service an so damn slow food not hot kind of warm as long as it took it should have been hot only one damn waiter for 30 people she was so slow crawfish no favor an charge for everydame thing on to the next

Coaches pub is a no frills local watering hole which is exactly what I was looking for. There are cheap drinks for happy hour and the staff make sure you are always topped up!

Right next to Gotham pizza it has free parking and its near all clubs in midtown its safe clean and staff is wonderful they have been there a long time and its definitely a relaxed atmosphere

Dont even bother with this place. Its a joke. The staff is lazy and rude, drinks are warm and not to code. Horrible experience.
