South Beach Houston

I came to South Beach few times. It has decent clientele and great sound and sight at the dance floor. Service was kind of weird to me. But overall, I had a good time.

Had a blast!!!! The 20 dollar cover charge was totally work it. We were able to avoid the other places in Montrose that were extremely crowded to the point of not being enjoyable. The bar tenders here were super fast and the dancers were great!

LOVE BRIAN !! BEST BARTENDER AND DJ ATREYU IS AMAZING 🤩 10/10 recommendations! Amazing drinks made by him! Dancing to the gayest and newest music, honestly love love!

Great night club! Free entry. Drinks were fair price. Bought 2 Vodka sodas for about $10.00 each and a bottle of water for about $4.00. The whole place is large and spacious. It is very clean. There are lasers and lights that go along with the music to make the scenery more live! Bartenders were very kind and helpful. The music was mostly house/electronic with some classic remixes. Dance floor was a bit empty initially, but definitely starts to get packed around 11:30 to 12:00. Will likely come here again in the future!Parking outside is relatively easy for a $10 fee. Along with the parking, we were also given a coupon for a free drink at a nearby bar that I redeemed prior to entering.

This was me and my friend,s first time clubbing Im bi and my friend is strait we felt so safe and comfortable here. The staff was so sweet and polite. The Drinks were great. We loved the atmosphere overall a great place with no judgement. We truly felt welcome. It was lit. If I could I would spend every weekend here 🍻

This was my first HTX Night club experience.I went with a friend to go enjoy some GREAT dance music and Amazing lazer light show.The vibes was a positive, fun, party type atmosphere.I never felt unsafe.My bartender was never rude. He was friendly, laughed with us and gave good service.I can definitely see myself going back again.

It honestly pains me to review this gay establishment so low, as i am friends with some of the bartenders and staff. However, when they continuously employ a bigoted homophobic bouncer with roid rages and uncontrollable anger issues, this establishment fails to meet the safety standards it assures its customers. LGBTQ+ being subjected to ridicule and discrimination does not and will NEVER meet the standards of a gay bar.

Definitely the place to be in Houston however the same DJ weekend after weekend kind of sucks. Bring in some legit circuit music. Owner needs to take a trip to S4 in Dallas and take notes.

The place was alright the music was good of selection and people were having a good time. Then 25 minutes later some guy was do a nasty dance that he wanted me to suck his private area and 5 minutes later one of his friends touched my friends husband hand and told not to touch him like his friend said shut up! And it was so close to a fight. We had left and told them it was so not worth the time that guy was wasted and trying to get attention from single and couple people that they didnt like his vibe and trying so hard to get action. It was my first time going to yalls club heard it was good and everything but after that experience I dont know if I would give it one more try though.

I had a blast! One of the best LGBT clubs Ive been to. Cant wait to go back! I hope to become a regular & live my best life at my new favorite spot

South Beach has become my favorite bar to go to. The staff is the best! I love seeing Mary every night! She’s always so happy and puts everyone in a good mood. Also Brian is my favorite bar tender. Always makes new drinks that I enjoy! Everyone must check out South Beach. It’s such a fun time.

The perfect spot to end a night out with friends. Mary has always been so sweet and welcoming from the moment we step in the door. Brian at the bar always makes an amazing drink and has a ton of fun laughing and dancing with our friends! Love these two and will continuously come back to dance!

I go here often, too often lol. But I go for the staff and the good energy. You are welcomed with a huge smile and maybe a hug by my favorite door goddess Mary, always a pleasure. Then I move my way back to get swiftly served by Mark or Victor who are great, even when its super busy they are always nice. Then the music is always on point. Never disappoints.

The team here is amazing! They make you feel so comfortable! Mary at the front desk, and then Hayden and Aaron at the bar are incredible!! I always feel welcome to hang out and enjoy my night. I’m new to the city and I don’t know anybody so it feels amazing knowing that I’ll always be comfortable coming here!

Staff was rude and inconsiderate during a medical crisis. My husband needed water to take emergency meds due to a health condition that was being triggered by the heat and lights and the bar wouldnt give me any until I paid them $4 for a water bottle. When I complained to the front door as we were leaving, they told me that they dont know what I wanted them to do about it and that I could go back into to the crowd and look for a manager if I felt like it.Performers were great, but the staff needs some work.

Had such a great time here with my friends. The door staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Mary, she started the night off in the right foot. The music was perfect as we had great cocktails and danced for hours! Can’t wait to go back!

Free entry before 10 and cheap drinks (vodka pineapple for around $6.50). DJ Joe Ross plays great music and its very loud (in a good way)! Loved it!

This is the place to be in Houston! This club has been a staple in the LGBTQ+ community in HTown! From the lights to the drinks, this place is awesome! The management is awesome and the staff is excellent! Upon entering a lovely young lady (I believe her name is Mary) was so warm and welcoming, I knew I was just in for a treat. The bartenders and the rest of the staff were excellent and I look forward to coming back!

First time I came here at his bar during New Year 2023 Celebration. Entrance fee was $20 it was ok I understand because it was important business during the New Year and I support good LGBT Bars which I paid no problem 😇👍🏼And the place was very interesting and very exotic because I never seen other LGBT Bar that looks very fun environment of songs, lights, male exotic (stippers) and very big place inside 😱Not very social in person due I’m very shy at least I enjoyed this place and I wanted to dance but OMG I was very shy that day 😂😅I hope I can come back here again 😊

One of the best vibes in Houston. If you get there before 10pm there’s no cover. The staff is amazing especially the guy and gal at the front and Joshua, one of the many friendly bartenders!

The best club in Houston is a gay club - South Beach. The club was renovated and it has a great sound system and visuals. The only thing I dislike is that the DJ keeps playing the same tracks every weekend. I don’t drink or do drugs, so the only reason I go is to dance (get a workout) and lose myself to the music. Can’t really enjoy the music if I keep hearing the same tracks every weekend.

First night here and there was a drag show, really cute but had to leave early! Restroom was nice and clean and outdoor space for smoking available. There was a $5 entrance fee that could be paid cash or card.Just keep track of your tabs. Left a $10 tip on a $36 tab but charged $50. It was only $4 so not such a big issue (for me) but still a little disappointing considering the drinks were $10 each. I chugged like 3 of them and felt nothing so pregame definitely necessary lol

I’ve been here in Houston for nearly two years and have loved South Beach since they reopened. Specifically Mary O’Neal, who works at the front desk. She always welcomes us with a bright smile and always has us coming back!

Love this place, the music is amazing

The newly renovated South Beach has potential to host fun parties and usher in a new era of gay clubbing in Houston, but unfortunately, it’s the same 2 DJs every weekend playing the same songs and mixes. While the lights, sound system, and grandiose decor might attract weekend visitors, it’s disappointing as a local to be bombarded with the same circuit vibe consistently. Perhaps pandering to straight people isn’t how to run a gay club. I’d love to see new DJs and new parties (and a better social media approach). Please reach out if you’d like more specific suggestions.

South beach is the best club in Montrose and if want good drinks and fast service go to Brian!!!

Best Place to Trip on EDM music and enjoy a good time with friends

This place has been on my list to hit for a long time. Hosted a group of about 15 of us and we decided to go somewhere vibing for dancing. Called in and they said they were busy around 10pm. Walked in and it seemed quiet so I peered over the corner to take a peek. Literally got violently scolded for peeking for 3 seconds around the corner. My friends were turned off about how rude he was and decided to leave bc we didn’t feel welcomed despite driving 20m to this venue. Never walked in and left a club so fast. 😅 Shame really

Really bad attitudes and service. Its really obvious that the staff hates their jobs. I was there for the annual Christmas in July benefit and it was dismal. The service and bartenders ranged from inhospitable to downright rude and hostile. I realize that this probably wasnt regular hours for the bartenders and staff, but some of their behavior was inexcusable. When the event wound down and closed, we were ushered quickly to the doors and not even allowed to go to the bathroom on the way out. I will never be back.

I’ve been to Soutch Beach since reopening— the music has not changed nor improved. The music is not queer at all— mainly monotonous, droning, annoying circuit queen music that doesn’t invite you to dance. The music panders to straight people (who act like heathens at queer clubs) and is overall boring. Sobe should remove the existing DJ’s and feature new, innovative, QUEER DJ’s that makes people want to come back next weekend. So tired of hearing the same, horrible music.

After being in Houston for a year, SOBE is the one of the only places I have felt safe and loved as part of the LGBTQIA+ community! I always look forward to walking in and being greeted by Mary with her smile, positive excitement asking how you truly are, and giving you a big ol hug, to Hayden serving the best drinks in montrose with the best attitude always!! Best place on the fruit loop 🖤

I went to south beach on a Wednesday night, they had their drafts on special for $1-2 I can’t remember I had a blast dancing all night it wasn’t super packed that night so I really got to live my best jersey shore fantasy and pump all night !!

WARNING: MARY is AGGRESSIVE. Upon walking in and paying we were forcefully told to leave after one of their employees physically assaulted me. When I asked for a refund I was refused until I got HPD involved. THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE FOR LGBT

Please, I beg you, play some different music.Every time I’ve gone on a Saturday the music is just bad tbh. The space is huge and could be fun but the music always kills the vibe.

My friends and I tried to go here last night. We didn’t know that it was valet only in their parking lot for that night and so we had parked. A man from the valet service came up to us to inform us of it and was extremely rude and unkind to us over it. We had no problem parking elsewhere, and after he was done being passive aggressive repeating ‘yeah, you guys cannot park here. This is valet only. Y’all can’t park here’ over and over despite us saving ‘Oh, we’re sorry’ and being on our way back to the car a good half the time he was talking, we felt really uncomfortable and ended up not going at all. We were really excited to go here and check it out and it was a bummer to feel so unwelcomed over such a small mistake on our part. I know this is a separate service from the club, and I’m really only putting this on here so South Beach is aware of how the service they hired is treating people. If they were that way to us over it for no reason, I’m sure they’ve been that way with others.

If you are down to have a good time and want to dance all night south beach is the place to go in Montrose. Valet is available on Fridays- Sundays. I know that valet for Friday and Saturday is $20 for regular and $40 for V.I.P. Parking and it’s $10 for Sundays from 4-8 PM

I consider South Beach the best gay night club in Houston, and one of the best in Texas, I enjoy going there, almost whenever I’m out to Montrose, if you are visiting Houston it’s almost that you hit south beach, there music is also good, their dance platform is amazing!

SOS!Not only is it over priced, but baby…I can’t even tell what was “remodeled.” The drinks are weak..not even a 6 second count. Not sure if it was just the bartender I got, however I remember I used to come here and have a blast! Now it’s just disappointing😕

Hands down the best gay club in houston tx might I say even Texas.

Four years and this is the best you can do with the music!!! Added VIP sections on the actual dance floor doesnt enhance the experience, it made the dance floor crowded and dangerous cause some people to trip over the rope or almost get into fights with other.

This place is amazing. The drinks are really good and the bartenders are so nice. I have only had one bad experience with a rude bartender but have not dealt with him since. They have amazing performances and cute dancers. Management is awesome here. Also the restrooms have always been clean when I used them. Which surprises me.

Been there ton of times always an enjoyment to go there. Will say a bit expensive on the drinks but seeing the Rugirls there makes up for it all

Me and my friend were looking for a club and since we didnt know very well we searched and it says that they accept 18 but its not true Im 21 and my friend 20 it was a horrible experience they should put 21 on their page so there are no misunderstandings, they need to update the music too, more variety.

This place was honestly awesome. Nothing compared to the place down the street. $10 to get in and they stamp your hand. The locale looks very upscale and everything looks modern. Bartenders are friendly.

Its okay I guess. Drinks are over priced (as usual) and the atmosphere feels kinda fake when sober. The models dancing are all straight and are just there for money, not very fun to interact with. With a nice buzz and good company, you can have fun and dance to good music. Most weekends at least, there are some off nights with low turn out or blah music. All in all, its okay and probably among the best Houston has to offer in its category.

While I think this generation of clientele deserves much to be desired (I hate pretentiousness, especially “si Tienes nada Que ver”. Jordan is absolutely amazing, good drinks, and is very conscientious about who arrived when and who is next. Keep up the good work and don’t let the wannsbees get you down

One of my favorite gay clubs in Houston

This is definitely my spot! There are drag shows every night and the male strippers are A plus! There is a house/techno feel to the club if you just like to fist pump and flail around. There are always great bar tenders and the bouncer is always super nice.

Me and my best friend go all the time, never had a bad experience here. The employees are great and the activities like foam parties or Halloween they had a super great costume contest with a cash prize. Holidays here are absolutely amazing!

We thought we were coming to see a drag show that was advertised on their website. The website says so you think you can drag every Friday. Even when you enter the club and go in the bathroom on the wall there are posters that say the drag show is on Friday at 10:30pm. We go in and its completely dead. On top of that we ask the bar tender and she says the drag show is every Thursday and Saturday. I understand advertising mistakes but all the information and advertisement was consistently wrong, and hard to forgive. On top of being a waste of time, there is a lady at the front desk right when you walk in, shes about a hundred, who is extremely rude and unfriendly. She almost ruined my night before it even started. Also, not great music.

It was nice... good size club... the air was blowing... so I never got hot... which is great!!! it wasn’t a packed night when I went... but a good crowd... drag show was good... but lasted a lil long for me... lasted til 2... I left at 2... and got no dancing time... they are open til 4... vallet parking is a must... cause that is a busy area for clubs... so parking is limited... but I enjoyed myself... only complaint was I didn’t get to dance... but it may have been the night I went and the time I left...

I love South Beach because of the great dance floor, DJ, and the manager. I only wish that the floor staff and some of the bar tenders were a little more friendly and nice. I know...its work . I do miss DJ Ross.

Fantastic drag shows and the best DJs! Its a little loud for my old musicians ears, so if youre like me, take ear plugs with no guilt! Thursday night amateur night, Friday night Stripper Circus with games and a new drag show, and most Saturdays, special guests including various RuPaul girls!

Trendy place. Difficult to park. Once we went in, told the DJ to play some Depeche Mode and an hour past by and nothing. Never going back again

So I went to South Beach for the first time last weekend to see Raja and Raven. I had heard good things from a lot of friends and had pretty high expectations. Unfortunately I didnt sign up for the text passes sooner so I tried to get away with a screenshot (which I admit was a stupid idea to do.) So I couldnt get in for free and had to pay $20 to get in which was fine despite the cashier ladys ugly attitude and lack of care for even being there. The experience was fine after that. Overall Raja and Raven were great but the whole interaction to get in bummed my mood out for the rest of the night.

W icy fog blasting out of the dance floor every once in a while so thick u cud hardly see, great music amazing light shows, go-go dancers, I went back recently & it was NOT the South beach I remember... Blur next door was closer to Wut I was craving... Kinda sad this used 2 b my fave hangout :(

Website said $20 cover, raised it to $25/cash only at the door. There was no crowd and bad music. This place isnt what it used to be. In major need of an upgrade. We went to F bar instead....no cover there and much better drinks, and music.

I generally avoid this place (very loud and club-like) unless there is a drag show.Its usually the only place in Houston to catch touring Drag Queens. They recently got a stage to better support the performers.Sign up for the Text Messages to get free entry before 10PM. You can go between 9 and 10, get your stamp, leave, and then come back later. Drag Shows start shortly after 1AM

Its starts at 12am, so dont come early unless you want free cover.at 10:30pm.The drinks are really Expensive $$$$$ and shots are not prepared correctly. I had 5 shots and barely felt drunk and I spent like $50

Great place to go to if your new to clubs; especially LGBT. Loud dance music with different age groups (majority younger 18+).If youre recently out LGBT, this is a great introduction to LGBT Houston and Montrose.

The bar is very large. Beautifully decorated. Great sound system lights and dance floor. Friday stripper circus 🎪 is always fun.

Atmosphere is great when it comes to the people, otherwise music is extremely repetitive and its all remixed to the same drum and bass, and drinks are crazy overpriced. Only come here for events or if you like crowds and rave lights.

Always a great night out. Very popular with the younger crowd, and always a nice blend of people from all walks of life. The GM, Jon Tice, is always walking about with a smile and a genuine greeting. Visit Leo at the front bar... hes been my go to bartender at SoBe for 10 years. This is a Charles Armstrong bar, which is synonymous with outstanding quality, up to date interior and exterior spaces, top notch bartenders and barbacks, friendly staff, etc. Its a great place to dance, watch a drag show, or just lounge outside in the cabana-esque smoking patio.

Stromg drinks and great prices. They play great music. If you want to have a great time this is the place. You can dance or just hang out in the outdoor patio.

Do not use a card here, because they will charge you whatever they want and give you a receipt with the correct charge so that you dont realize until you go through your account. Only cash or just dont go.

Its a cool little place, but if you like to get up and dance to hip hop then its not the place for you, the music is kinda like rave music. But other then that its cool.
