Nulux Salon & Spa

I recently visited this salon to have my hard gel nails removed, and unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare. The nail technician was not knowledgeable about the proper procedure for removing hard gel. Instead of leaving a thin layer of gel on my nails to protect them, she filed down to the base, leaving my nails extremely fragile and soft. They turned bluish and were painful for the first few days, making it difficult for me to do any housework or even wash my hands without pain.It’s been 2-3 weeks, and my nails are still in terrible shape. They continue to break and bend easily, and I’m now forced to use special oils and treatments in the hope that they will eventually recover.I asked for a refund due to the damage caused, and they did refund me, which was the least they could do given the circumstances.Additionally, I want to highlight that this salon engages in unethical practices to boost their ratings. They offer discounts in exchange for 5-star reviews, which skews their overall rating and misleads potential customers.I strongly advise anyone considering this salon to think twice. My experience has been nothing short of awful, and I will have to wait at least 3 months for my nails to fully grow out and hopefully return to their natural, healthy state.I am attaching photos of my nails from the first day and the following days so people can see the damage for themselves.P.S. Before the salon responds to this review with excuses or trying to blame me, let me clarify: I have been doing hard gel and Russian manicure for 10 years and never experienced anything like this before. My nails have always been healthy and strong. This damage happened solely because the nail technician was not professional.

Went to Nulux over a year ago and my hair still hasn’t recovered. After $600 and a 7 hour appointment she completely over processed my hair. When she went to blow dry it, it broke off into a million pieces. I tried to speak to the manager about it but he refused to do anything, even after sharing pictures, except have me come back in for a complimentary Olaplex treatment which I refused.Only reason I’m giving two stars is because while the stylist clearly made many errors, she was very kind and at the time I thought she was really putting in her best effort.I would not recommend this salon for highlights/balayage.

A really good and experienced hairdressers. I was looking for a particular haircut for myself which I have had all my life but wasn’t able to go my regular stylist. This place has most fine hands which were able to get me somewhat similar to what I have always had. Amazing staff and service very polite easy walk in.Will recommend it strongly.

I got my hair cut by Jenna. From the get go, a smooth experience - no waiting time and she was very quick to understand what I was looking for. She gave me something rhat worked beautifully with my hair type and hairstyle!

I had a great experience at Nulux. Kelsey was very responsive and was able to give me the exact cut that I wanted! And she styled it at the end so that I felt amazing leaving the salon. Long layers and face framing pieces. Would highly recommend!

Worst Experience:Keratin Treatment and HaircutI recently visited this salon for a keratin treatment and haircut, and it was an absolute disaster. After spending $450, my hair looks no different than before the treatment. The keratin treatment did not straighten my hair at all—it’s still bending and looks just as it did before. To make matters worse, the haircut I received was uneven and horrible.I was so unhappy with the result that I had to go to another salon to get my hair fixed. This was a complete waste of money and time. The ratings for this salon are misleading, as they offer a $15 discount for positive reviews and 5-star ratings. This tactic is dishonest and unfair to customers.I strongly do not recommend this salon to anyone. Save your money and find a place that values quality and honesty.

It was my first time coloring my hair and I cannot describe my experience in words. It the best salon around here. They were very kind and patiently answered all my questions. Pich did my hair cut and color. She is an amazing human being and an even awesome hair stylist. She knew the perfect shade for my hair and worked her magic like a charm. Definitely recommend.

This was my first visit at Nulux and got to know of it from a friend. I came in for my haircut and loved the service. My appointment was with Noom who understood what I want and made me feel comfortable. I loved my haircut and also how he styled it. He also did give me a lot of good tips on how to style my hair.

Ive had the best experience getting my hair cut and colored by Randy. After years of being blonde, I wanted to go darker and Randy was able to find the perfect color to match my features. She taught me so much during the appointment and made sure I understood how to take care of the new color. My hair has been so much healthier and thicker after using products she recommended.

I got my haircut (layers with a fringe)with Noom. He did a brilliant job and made sure he did not over shorten my hair yet the style was done well. I will definitely come back.

I normally dont prefer to leave a bad review. I feel its hard to build a business reputation. But i have to share my recent bad experience at this salon. I called to booking the appointment and was told it is promotional price $50 to get a hair cut on Monday before 2pm which is way cheaper than my original appointment on Thursday. So I reschedule and went there on Monday for a hair cut. The bill came out like $85 for a hair cut which is totally different from what i was told over the phone. The reception told me it depends on the hair cut type. If you have long hair it will be more. No one ever specify that over the phone. I feel extremely uncomfortable with the price they quoted. I feel I got lightly scammed. No one has informed me about the price! I feel this store in general just want customer’s money and lack of well-trained staffs!

I just got my haircut done at Nulux and they were amazing. I have a very delicate scalp and they ensured to be honest and told me way to take care of my scalp rather than hurting it. They could have gotten more money for what I wanted but they understood that taking care of me and my scalp for better hair and haircut was more important. Thank you Noom for your honesty!

All five times, I got a different haircuts right from looking like Billie Eilish to getting curls and wave and the colors ranged from turquoise to red and all the browns in between. Overall I’m satisfied with the haircut and the stylist’s job. However I never got the hair wash that was mentioned as part of the service. Also it’s a bit pricey after tip, they recommend 20% gratuity.

I was assigned a very bad stylist named Anita. I am a regular customer and the hair stylist doesnt understand how to do a mens haircut and really struggled in the haircut. Even after showing my previous pictures and hiding her she wasn’t able to perform the job. I had the worst experience and may not come again.

She walked me through different options and helped me understand realistically what we could do to remedy bad box dye jobs while keeping hair healthy, the results were even better than expected! This is my first time visiting Nulux and got organic keratin treatment. Pich did a good job and I loved the new look. Would like to come here again in future.

Deeply disappointing experience.I visited Nulux with the intention of giving my hair a refresh with new bangs and a modest trim. Regrettably, my appointment resulted in one of the worst haircuts of my life.Not only did my stylist cut my hair far shorter than requested, but theyve also left it marred by choppy layers and a glaring asymmetry between its right and left sides. My stylists technique, which was both slow[*] and subpar, undermined any confidence I might have had in their skills. Adding to my frustration, at the end of my appointment, the stylist applied styling foam to my hair without asking me whether Id like them to do so, leaving my hair with an odd, drying texture that persisted in discomfort for the remainder of my day.(* The stylist ended up being over 20 minutes late for their next appointment--Nuluxs hair cutting appointments are supposed to take an hour long, and mine lasted for over 80 minutes!)I approached Nulux with high hopes, given its other reviews. However, I left with a haircut that fell drastically short of my expectations and that Ill likely have to visit another salon to have rectified. I strongly advise potential clients to reconsider before booking their next hair appointment at Nulux.

Asked for angles and got two weird flaps of uneven hair in the front of my face. Completely uneven throughout the entire head. It looks like a 5 year old took safety scissors to my hair. This was done by their top “senior stylist”. No refund was given, they offered me a deep conditioning and told me my hair would grow back. Biggest regret ever coming here.

Extremely poor service. I had called at 11:03 and taken an appointment with Kelsey for 3:15 as I had important event to attend in the evening. I called them back at 3:15 to let them know that I was on my way but there was no appointment on the schedule for me at all. I spoke with Jessica and she made no effort to accommodate me on their schedule and did not even admit to a mistake on their end. Do not go here if you are on a time crunch - definitely do not recommend

So happy to have found an opening with Ivelisse at Nulux while in JC for a wedding. Originally searching for a place to get a blow-out, I decided to get a layered haircut plus elevated style. The manager (owner?) and Ivelisse were very considerate to understand what kind of cut and style I wanted, and Ivelisse took care to style my hair in a way that would endure the humid conditions before the wedding. If you are anything like me, most of the time you leave the salon disappointed. My experience from start to finish at Nulux, was amazing. Not only was it super easy to book, I went the day before Thanksgiving, and was seen right away when I arrived. Noom was absolutely amazing. I came in with my clip-ins already installed so that he could blend my hair with them, and after 45 minutes and adding in some larger barrel curls, my hair looked the best it ever has. ALL FOR A MORE THAN REASONABLE PRICE. This will be my new salon for styling and cuts!!

Not only was her work was on point, she was attentive, polite, and on par. I got a haircut here yesterday. Anita was my stylist. The haircut itself looks great and I got the style I wanted but the experience wasn’t pleasant. She seemed to be in a hurry and was rough with my hair, pulled it several times. I had small hair all over after the haircut. I and my husband have been here before and had a good experience.

I have been coming to this salon for almost a year. Mint has always been my hairdresser and provided a great service all the time. I spent a lot of time and effort in my life to get a long hair and have a good haircut and I am very pleased with Mint’s work. She is very lovely and helpful. I even got my haircut for my wedding from her and asked her to style it on the day of the wedding without any appointment.She went above and beyond to help me out and squeezed me in into her schedule even if that means her coming to work early. Addition to their service, I think the place is also very really clean and has a fair price. I was even able to get some promotional discounts for messages which is highly recommended.
