We travel around in 4 different states for our job a lot, and have stayed at too many different hotels and Airbnb to count but this was by far one of the most unique and interesting place weve ever stayed!! We had a wonderful time, the staff were amazing, food was great and room was fantastic. We got to stay in the Camelot room which we loved and cant wait to try out some of the other rooms. If you are in the area you will not regret staying here!
The room is very nice. The tub was large enough for both of us to relax in which is great. I would avoid eating or drinking there. The food and drinks are over priced for what you get. They dont answer the phone at the front desk if you need anything. Our coffee machine was missing parts and they didnt seem to care. Luckily they had coffee in the lobby when I went to tell them.
We had an absolutely amazing stay at Chateau Avalon. A truly a unique place, each room is like stepping into a different time period in history or place in the world, we stayed in the Heming-way Room modeled after Earnest Hemingway’s actual home decor. The hotel sits on a beautiful piece of property that overlooks the Legends, we were especially impressed by the attentiveness and care of the entire staff. Jordan the on site shuttle driver was awesome he brought us directly to our restaurant and picked us up as soon as we were ready. The bar and lounge was a great place to relax after our day with a nice quiet ambiance, Robert the beverage manager was also super attentive and knowledgeable with great recommendations for drinks. We concluded our stay with breakfast in bed which was amazing. We will be highly recommending Chateau Avalon to all of our friends and family and would like to thank the entire staff for an amazing weekend!
They forgot our petals and roses but the staff was very friendly in helping accommodate! They got us our robes upon asking, and gave us bath bombs to make up for the petal turn down service. It was our anniversary, the staff helped make it special. Thank you!My issues are my husband is disabled and there isn’t handicap accessibility really, the only reason we were actually able to stay was because our room was on the 1st floor. However, staff can’t help how the company built the building, just wish that we would’ve known sooner that we wouldn’t be able to explore the hotel due to the copious amounts of stairs and an unworking elevator. But that’s it! Staff was great, experience was great! Definitely pricey for what we got, but worth it.
For somewhere that’s suppose to be really nice and romantic I’m very disappointed. Come into our room and there’s black marks on the bed. Paid extra for rose petals and they are dollar tree fake petals, there is food left from the people before in the mini fridge, very very poor water pressure takes 30 minutes to fill the tub, can’t even really shower. thermostat doesn’t work, called the front desk about our concerns and no answer. Husband went down they also weren’t very helpful. Breakfast is insane for the quality we are seeing already. Front desk lady ruined the surprise of the rose petals when we arrived. Water on the floor. Giant chips in the Egyptian statues. Feel like the chairs in the room are going to break when sitting on them. Was supposed to be a nice romantic night and it was ruined by the front desk lady and how the room condition is in. Also the bed is not a queen like advertised. Not too happy and want to leave at this point. And there isn’t even a microwave.
My wife has always wanted to visit here. Per the website you would think this place is a 5 star resort, very misleading. The outside property is gorgeous. The inside needs work, we stayed in a the ship wreck room. As soon as we walked in the room smelled old and musty. There was water damage all over the walls and ceiling. The white comforter was stained multiple different colors. I’m not sure the room was even cleaned, there was hair all over the tub and bathroom floor. We got in the Jacuzzi and the shower head leaked on us the entire time. There was also a wedding going on that evening, there needs to be dedicated parking for those staying at the hotel, there were so many guests for this wedding there was no parking anywhere. We were disappointed in the bar, there were about 10 people in there and the bartender was no where to be found. When they finally showed up the wine list was minimal and no reds by the glass. For what we hoped this place was going to be it was very disappointing and likely won’t be returning or recommended this hotel to friends or family.
More 3.5 if were going off accommodations without service -- the room keys worked once and then stopped mysteriously, but that was about the only thing that was an issue with the room itself (though a bit dated, and could use more plugs near the bed). But the service was terrible! We were first given my partners sisters room (same last name, but slightly concerning given my partner gave her id/credit card with her first name??) and then we were told we didnt have a reservation at all. The staff was so rude about this, too - it was definitely clear they were suspicious or thought something scammy was going on, even though we presented our confirmation email. They told us not to book through Expedia -- we didnt, it was through the hotels website. The lady said she had no idea how we could have a confirmation email with a room for the night when she had no reservation, but the manager said it happens when someone doesnt confirm the reservation which uh, sounds like they basically gave our room away and made a mistake. We did get a new room but why on earth do you send confirmation emails with a confirmation NUMBER that...isnt the confirmation of your reservation, especially after you enter a credit card number? With no idea the person at the hotel hadnt hit the button we had no way of knowing the confirmation email wasnt actually a reservation. Words mean things! Confirmation = your reservation is confirmed! We filled out the form, put in a credit card and received the confirmation email after doing so. I have no idea how they expected us to know we didnt REALLY have a room, or why we were maybe confused/distressed to arrive with nowhere to stay and then be treated like WE did something wrong. This is all a mistake and yes, it was handled poorly, but the last straw came when we finally went to our room and my partners sister came down the stairs to the lobby, to hear the staff gossiping about us and talking about how dare we complain when they didnt do anything wrong, it wasnt their fault, why were we being so defensive and upset. ??? Please, if you want to talk badly about guests go ahead, just do so in private and not AT THE DESK in the lobby when the people youre talking badly about might have family to overhear you. No, the problem wasnt the global outage (??), or us using Expedia (cause we didnt), or just something weird, it was your fault and you dont need to complain about us wanting the room wed booked and paid for! When my partner filled out the feedback form after checkout, she mentioned overhearing the staff talking badly about us after check-in and received a form letter with not a single mention of the incident or an apology. So, we wont be staying here again and I suggest that you overlook the fun theme idea (the rooms are pretty dated and overpriced tbh) and if you DO book, call before you show up because maybe you too wont have a room, and hey, may I suggest figuring out what the point of having email forms are if you never bother to look at them? Either use the booking software to, you know, BOOK ROOMS or dont offer it as an option? And if you specifically ask for feedback after checkout and learn that your staff was overheard talking badly about guests who had a problem, try apologizing or addressing it or what is the point of sending it in the first place?? We wont be back, too frustrating and honestly just not here to be made fun of by the staff who lost our reservation and then ignored when we mention it.Edit: And before you try to say I didnt stay here, I did, we were in the Roman Dynasty room. (Sometimes the staff apparently either argues back with reviews or tries to say someone didnt stay based on the name of someones google account. I am not that boring of a person that I leave fake reviews on hotels I didnt stay at. I stayed here and the experience was very bad due to poor service, so instead of arguing maybe listen to the guests and do better instead of being defensive and finding someone else to blame it on.
I paid $500 to come stay for our anniversary as a surprise For my husband, I paid for a silk rose pedal drop And the castaway Island room for two nights. We arrive the first night to mediocre service at the desk with monotone desk clerks. The elevator is not working. There was barely any parking due to a wedding. We went out to dinner and came back and were approached by drunk wedding party members multiple times with inappropriate comments Inside and outside the establishment. There was no rose petals the first night so I figured they would do it the next night. The following day, we did some shopping and such and came back house Cleaning had not came by, once again, there was another Wedding so there was limited parking along with wedding party members arguing out front, And a vehicle speeding through the parking lot almost hitting us, We still had no towels. The bed wasn’t made. No rose petals. So I asked front desk if they would just comp them in part of our breakfast and they said I had to wait up seven Business days for a refund Instead. Frustrated with the entire situation I asked them to just remove the breakfast and they had no idea where my breakfast order even was and again were very unhelpful and monotone. I even left a specific note And let the desk know it was our anniversary and they couldn’t even take the time to do simplistic things that we had paid for. I am beyond upset about spending this amount of money and the refund I’m receiving only being $10 for the way we were treated by staff, were treated by other hotel goers, and wedding party members, we had such an amazing experience here last year, which is the only reason I rebooked and booked a longer stay on top of that there was no couples massages only singles. The front desk did not even offer any sort of other dates that they may have them available or anything, the room was beautiful but mediocre clean. It had a foul smell the first night that we stayed in it. The second night was not as bad. I will update this with any information in regards to checking out
I am very disappointed in my stay. I chose the Serengeti room to do something unique and romantic with my partner. The room is very dated and old. There is a horrible musty smell when you enter because the humidity in there caused by the shower/tub is so great. Which also causes the room to heat up and the air conditioner cannot keep up. They put a cheap Walmart fan in there which helps to keep the humid thick air moving but difficult to feel comfortable. Everything felt damp. The crocodile on the floor had cracks and a hole in it. The stairs to the bed are uneven and steep so walking up and down them was a chore. And they arent smooth so your feet will hurt walking up and down them without shoes. The bedding had stains on it and the pillows were firm yet fluffy. Sleeping was horrible. The bed was so soft you sunk in it. Two ppl trying to fit in a full sized bed was tight but doable. So the advertised queen was wrong. I definitely will not be back unless they lower the price dramatically. I definitely did not get my moneys worth by staying here and will not be recommending this place to anyone.
Stayed March 30-31st and it is hands down the best place we’ve ever stayed. Highly recommend the Camelot room! The pictures online doesn’t do it justice. Their bartender is amazing. Went above and beyond for us. Room service was really good and priced perfectly. The masseuse did an awesome job! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Will definitely be comeback to explore the other rooms as well. Thank you!
Most amazing experience ever!!!! I just recently took my wife there for our first wedding anniversary. The room was awesome! The staff and the GM were friendly and helpful. The little added extras were over the top cool for making it romantic. They have so many ways to add to the rooms with things like rose petals, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and these really cool little candle looking lights. Those things mixed in with the hot tub really put this experience over the top. I highly recommend all the add ons. You got to stay here at least once. We are coming back every year for our anniversary
The front of the property is not handicap accessible so though pretty if you cant make it up the steps you have to go around back. 50% of the appeal of staying here is choosing a themed room, i booked weeks out and arrived and checked in thinking i was going to be staying in the room i chose however upon entering my room i was suprised and immediately called down to the desk thinking there had been a mistake. The young lady at the desk was less than helpful, she said at first that was the room i had selected, when i would not back down she found my original selection but said none of those rooms were available and cant i just take the room i had. Since it would take time for a refund and the event i was going to started in only a couple hours i just took the room. This wouldnt have been as aggravating except there was no communication, you charged my card and you knew you didnt have the room a simple courtesy call or even an apology when we checked in would have gone a long way. We ended up leaving early because we could hear scratching in the walls by the bed. I notified the front desk at check out of my disappointment in the hotels services and of the noise we heard (we were on the top floor and the sound came from behind the head board). They apologized and stated they hoped they could provide better service on our next stay. For the prices we paid, there shouldve been a higher quality of care. We will likely not stay here again or recommend it to our friends if we can help it.
Loved it!! The staff was great. The room was exactly what we needed. Will definitely be coming back for special occasions or just a nice weekend. Room was spotless and had everything we needed. We had tickets for the soccer match and the hotel was 5 minutes from the venue. We live an hour out of Kansas City and didnt want to drive home after the game. It happened to be Mothers Day weekend and this hotel was just the fanciness I wanted. Will definitely recommend.
Olga was the absolute best, and helped us with all our needs. She catered to all of our requests with ease and professionalism. We enjoyed our time there immensely and look forward to our next stay.
Stayed in the Casablanca room and it was incredibly small. Could barely walk around the bed or even get in the doorway. There was no handicap entrance to the front desk, just a lot of crumbling stairs. Elevators were out of order. If we had been in a wheelchair we would have been screwed! The jetted tub was nice but the whole thing was not worth what we paid. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY STAYING HERE!!
Mixed review. We booked a weekend in early April 2024 to celebrate our anniversary. We were on a budget so we chose the most basic room available with a king bed—The Lincoln. And it definitely was basic! The paint looked fresh but everything needs an update. Especially the linens and towels. They reminded me of Days Inn.Cons:They crammed a bunch of furniture in a too small room. But still I wish there had been a better sitting area with a couch and nightstands on both sides of the bed with outlets seems standard to me but there was only one and it was a extension cord on the floor. The room was simply tiny and cramped. The mattress was so soft or worn out that we rolled toward each other at night. We weren’t enticed by anything on the breakfast menu but were glad we could door dash coffee and whatever else we wanted. There was no microwave for heating up leftovers, no closet, no separate shower (it was a part of the whirlpool tub in the room. The linens were scratchy and antique looking, not crisp white like hotels typically are. The towels are also sub par. There are no included amenities outside of the room. No pool or hot tub, no complimentary breakfast.Pros:The chateau was quiet and we enjoyed our privacy. I appreciated it being kid-free. The water in the shower and tub was nice and hot and the water pressure was great! The close restaurants and shopping near by were very handy to get out and do things. The outdoor appearance of the château is beautiful. In short, we had a nice time being together, but I don’t think we’d book again without pre-viewing another room in person.
We had an amazing stay at the château Avalon. The service from the time we walked in up until the time we walked out the door was 5 stars! The room was immaculate (I am very picky when it comes to the rooms I stay in), I had absolutely zero complaints about any area of our room! We will be highly recommending this wonderful hotel to our friends & family. Thank you for such a pleasant stay for our 30th anniversary!!
Subject: Complaint about Lincoln Room Service and ConditionsDear Sir/Madam,I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service and conditions of the Lincoln room that my partner and I booked for our date night on 7/27/2024.Upon returning to the room, after our show at approximately 12:00 AM, we noticed a strong scent of wet mildew and dampness in the carpet. Further inspection revealed a leak in the jacuzzi, which had caused our bags and belongings to become damp and reak of mildew the next day. The moisture level in the room was so high that even the bed was slightly damp.Additionally, the thermostat was difficult to adjust, there was no microwave in the room, and we were not provided with the Wi-Fi password. The champagne that my partner had ordered as a surprise never arrived, and the furniture in the room was rickety and in poor condition.Due to a wedding taking place in the parking lot, my partner and I were asked to remain in the room, which prevented us from exploring the fountain or grounds.Given the circumstances( the time being so early, being exhausted, the hassle of finding a new hotel), we decided to endure the issues and address them with the hotel staff the later that morning. My partner contacted the front desk clerk, who observed the water ring under the jacuzzi/ dampness of the carpet and assured us that someone would contact us.A few days later, a staff member called my partner and offered a compensation of $8 for the bar snacks we had consumed upon returning to the room. However, they refused to refund our room charge. The staff member attempted to justify this decision by stating that we had not reported the issues when the issues were first observed. My partner reinforced the inconvenience and hassle this would have caused by having to find new room accommodations at such an early morning hour not to mention having to pack when we were running on fumes. It is evident from other reviews that the hotel management has been aware of these issues and has failed to take appropriate action to address them. This is not only unacceptable but also raises concerns about the hotels commitment to customer satisfaction and the health and safety of its guests.I believe it is necessary to bring this matter to the attention of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the building inspector. How can this establishment charge these exorbitant prices and in return give motel six service and room quality? It is ridiculous. Honestly we feel robbed and pretty angry. To the management & owners you are no better than a thief. You knew you were allowing guests to book rooms in poor conditions and as a result caused many of your customers to have special occasions spoiled. Eventually poor business practices like these cause the business trouble & and tarnishes the businesses reputation.
Great stay, celebrated our anniversary here. Different packages you can order for the occasion. Fun themed rooms, huge spa tubs. Great location for food and entertainment. Free shuttle also on demand. Definitely recommend.
Extremely disappointing experience at the Château Avalon. This was our wedding anniversary and we will never be back. We stayed in the Hemingway room on the first floor #123. Me and my wife woke up to a heavy pot smell in the room the following morning (the hotel has a very strict smoke free policy and requires attendees to sign a waiver to reserve a room). The smell gave us a horrible headache as it lofted through the room. The room also had some major safety issues that we pointed out to the staff, but they seemed incredibly indifferent to them. They have exposed electrical wiring that looks dicey at best behind the TV. The fireplace insert literally wobbles out at the slightest of touches. It has not been properly secured to the wall. Management was unwilling to refund the room and offered us a $50 gift certificate for our next stay, which we refused. Do not trust these people with your special day. We have stayed at the Château numerous times over the last 10 years and this experience has ruined it. Avoid this place at all cost.
My husband and I came here for our honeymoon since it was recommended by family. The Castaway room was quite nice and clean! The service was very kind and helpful as well! There are plenty of shops nearby to visit, too. We only stayed one night to see if wed stay here again... AND its a definite YES! Absolutely recommend for a good getaway :)
The room was great! Visiting the legends was great, the bar was great- it was all great! EXCEPT- don’t get the massage. I really don’t think these were real massage therapists, but rather repurposed staff members. They shorted me 20 minutes of our massages - they counted the time I took to walk to the massage spot and the time to change and get into the massage bed. This has never happened to me in my life in any massage I’ve ever had. For that price I expected a professional massage therapist and a full hour I paid for. What a disappointment.Just don’t get the massage - go into town and find a parlor and spend your money there.
This was for our 15 year anniversary. We had an amazing time. The room was clean. The tub was clean. The bathroom was clean. I wish there could have been hooks to hang my clothes up on. Overall we had a great time. I wish people wouldnt smoke so close to the exit door. It was very unpleasant to have to walk thru. The water for the tub was very hot and the AC worked amazing. We will definitely be back.
My wife and I stayed at Chateau Avalon, February 16-18, 2024. We stayed in one of the Venetian Suites. Our experience was excellent. The room was excellent, the two-person hot tub was perfect for us. The entire hotel was well designed and maintained. We loved our experience and we will go back. The dNile wine bar was very nice and intimate. Robert, who runs the place, was an outstanding host! The bar is well appointed with high quality spirits. Robert knows his business and makes the dNile experience a true joy. As an FYI, you dont need to be a guest at Chateau Avalon to enjoy the dNile experience. Also, the couples massages we had were great!
Our room was dirty. The front desk did give us another room and free breakfast. The breakfast we asked to be served to our room at 7am they delivered it at 7:40am. The breakfast is super expensive nothing home made. The property was dirty all over inside and out. The fountain didn’t work. The glass house had a wedding party from awhile back and was never cleaned up. Trash and bottles all over the yard. Trash outside the glass house in big trash bags. Dirty tables and everything dirty from wedding party. Walking up to the hotel was dirty and the front desk area dirty. Sad to see this place gone down hill. They need better management if they want to stay in business. Rooms way over priced for what you get. Need to put microwaves in rooms.
My 40th birthday celebration at was nothing short of spectacular! A group of 10 of us stayed at the hotel, and from start to finish, the experience was fantastic. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, and they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable.Amazing bartender with precision and charm. Additionally, the hotel staff demonstrated incredible honesty and integrity when I accidentally left some jewelry in my room. They promptly arranged to have it mailed back to my home address free of charge, which truly exceeded my expectations.Overall, our experience was outstanding, and we are already planning our return visit. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service and a memorable stay. Thank you to the entire team for making my 40th birthday celebration one to remember
Planning a special anniversary vacation, we took off work, drove 3 1/2 hours, and booked a 3 night stay at Chateau Avalon. Upon arrival, we not only were given the wrong room, we were told by the girl working the desk that we could move the anniversary package ourselves from one room to the other! We did, which completely ruined the surprise!! We have stayed here several times and i can’t even say how disappointed we were. Also, there was trash on the floor in the bathroom and a to-go box of food left in the refrigerator. You have got to be kidding me.
I was filled with anticipation when I booked the Egyptian room for our 7 year anniversary and my birthday celebration. It meant so much to me to have this special time with my husband, especially with our busy schedules and commitments with our two little boys. However, upon arrival, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment and frustration. The room, which was supposed to be a luxurious retreat, fell far short of my expectations. As I stepped into the room, I couldnt help but feel disheartened. One of the first things I noticed, with my foot, was the strip of rusty tacks protruding from the carpet around the tub. It was not only unsightly but also posed a safety hazard. The overall appearance of the room was lackluster, with paint chipping off the walls, dirty tub, and an absence of hot water. It pains me to say that the room felt more akin to a rundown motel than the upscale experience we were promised. After discussing with my husband, we made the difficult decision to cut our stay short and return home for the night. It was disheartening to leave our anniversary celebration early, but we knew it was the right choice for our comfort and safety. When we approached the front desk to check out, I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of concern shown regarding the issues we encountered. It felt as though our concerns were brushed aside, adding to our disappointment. In hindsight, I cant help but feel let down by the experience. We had hoped for a romantic and memorable getaway, but instead, we were met with disappointment and frustration. Moving forward, I would urge others to consider alternative accommodations within the Legends complex, where they can enjoy similar amenities at a more reasonable cost.
The staff was amazing Kristy made sure everything was in order the bartender Robert was awesome he made the best pineapple upside drink I left my charger at home and the girls at the front desk kaitlynn and Kayla let me use one the staff was so sweet and the room was beyond what I expected! 10 out of 10 recommend
This hotels quality has really fallen off since our last visit. We have stayed here multiple times in years past and even gifted a stay to others. However our stay this February was far below expectations for a hotel that costs $350+ per night, so we will not be recommending this hotel any longer.I didnt want a tepid bath, but thats what I got. We didnt have hot water all weekend, which seems to be to be grounds for at least a partial refund. The toilet seat was loose/crooked and did not have a lid. Plus the covers for the screws were missing, completing the junky-toilet look. The bathroom sink faucet looked grungy, and the drinking glasses were not clean. There was a weird dark stain on the carpet in the bedroom; no idea what that was.The bed and pillows are old. I kept drifting to the middle of the bed because it slumped. The pillows were probably standard size at some point, but now are about the size of throw pillows.Oh, and the rose petal turndown service which incurred an extra charge... Not real rose petals. On the plus side, breakfast was delicious and delivered on time.Update 3/20/2024: Regarding the owners comment: we did not receive any communication from the manager. We received a couple of generic apology text messages during our stay that seemed to be addressed to all customers (which had poor grammar and misspelled words, not super professional)... but no personal outreach and certainly no offer to remedy the huge waste of money we incurred by staying here.
One of the smoke detectors was beeping and woke me up at 6 AM. No hot water pressure in the bathroom sink but plenty for shower. Those minor issues weren’t that bad overall still a great room and location. Super close to Kansas Speedway we stayed here after the race.
It was recommended that we stay here from a friend. The pictures looked great online. We checked in and quickly had to go as we had a concert and supper to eat. After we arrive back around 11:15pm we were tired so we decided to turn on the fireplace it was chilly in our room. Then there was no hot water to shower. I also had rolled over to turn the light above the bed for my hand to be covered in something brown and sticky! Took a while to get that off. By this time we just were ready for bed. I wiped the bed frame the best I could. Woke up this morning to find they obviously do not clean the room. There was champagne cork and trash on the floor under the chairs. So I look further and the bed frame was gross! Open the window to find dead bug, and black stuff. Top of the bed frame was all dusty. Not worth being that overpriced and having to wonder if they clean. They don’t do a good job.I didn’t expect the furniture to be in prestige condition but the chairs were badly stained. The wood on the beds and chairs were so scratched and damaged. For spending $250 I was appalled.
My parents went here for their anniversary, writing on their behalf. The place was strange to say the least. They stayed in the New York room, there was a mess in there, hardly any furniture, no closet or space for suitcases etc. just a strange bed in the middle of the room and a bathroom. They ordered the flatbread and got a frozen pizza partially uncooked. They said the staff was so kind, but the place itself was poorly managed and beyond wierd. Hopefully something changes!
The room was nice except the roof started leaking at 11pm I called the front desk a couple times no answer. We couldnt use the tub because we didnt know what was leaking on us. It stopped then in the morning it looked like a small waterfall but the kid at the front dest didnt seen to concerned.
Was super excited to stay here being our first time but there was nothing pleasant about it. To start we quickly ran out of hot water. Barely enough to cover our legs sitting in the tub. Then once we turned on the jets black sludge came out. Absolutely disgusting, its obvious rooms dont get deep cleaned. Finally the thermostat did not work. They had fans to cool off but it simply wasnt enough. We ending up leaving within 45 minutes of coming back from dinner.
Room was unremarkable. Biggest problem was no hot water. The in room jacuzzi was the only perk to this hotel so without hot water there was no reason to stay. We were offered a refund and voucher for a future stay if we decided to check out without spending the night due to no hot water, however Kristy the manager would only honor one or the other. There was also food left in the refrigerator from another guest.
ALL the staff here is wonderful! They make you feel like youre at home. Every room I have rented is absolutely stunning 😍.Everyone should experience a day, a weekend, or a long vacation at Chateau Avalon !
The room we stayed in was supposed to have a queen bed, but was actually a full size bed in a queen frame so there was a big gap on the side. Also there was a horrible smell that was nauseating outside in the hall and in our room. I’m not sure if it was some kind of weird cleaning product or what. The night we stayed there was no hot water at all. Which is ridiculous when that’s part of the reason people stay is for the big jet tubs. Then about 3 days later they charged my credit card for $245. When I called they said it was for a couples massage…. Which my husband and I never even got. So that was very frustrating to pay $250 for a room and not even have most the stuff work in your room… then to later be charged for a couples massage on a card they said didn’t even work so we had to add a different one!!!
My now fiancé booked a weekend here for our three year anniversary, it was all completely a surprise to me and I had no idea where we were going, this left me completely unbiased as a chronic review researcher before staying in a hotel. We pulled up and the hotel is absolutely stunning, even in the dead of winter. We arrived at check in and they had no idea of our reservation which was booked three weeks in advance. We showed the confirmation from their direct website and still they were unable to find us. The manager then helped us letting us know that their website has had a few glitches. This could have completely turned our weekend upside down as we traveled over 2 hours to come here. However, the staff was absolutely amazing. Immediately got us in the Colorado room we booked, even offered an upgrade. They then discounted our stay as well as a breakfast voucher and two free drinks. This could have been a rocky start however they completely took accountability and went above and beyond. The room was absolutely beautiful, the only thing I would have liked was a bigger bed, it did seem a bit small. The staff is amazing, the breakfast was delicious and the hotel is quiet, clean and so cute. We ended up needing to leave a day early and the staff refunded us for the additional night without even being asked. This place is amazing and we will be going again. I GOT ENGAGED HERE THAT WEEKEND! Thank you all for making one of the most important moments in our life even more amazing.!
Edit:Surprisingly not a single employee or manager has reached out to us about our horrible experience. When we realized we were not going to receive any resolution with the hotel we reached out to hotwire and received a refund. I would caution staying at this location as it seems no one really has any interested in satisfying their guest. Sad because we really enjoyed our stay the first time we were there. As my husband and I were eagerly anticipating a relaxing getaway to celebrate our anniversary, our experience at chateau avalon unfortunately fell far short of our expectations. We had booked a room with a hot tub, envisioning a romantic evening soaking in warm water and enjoying each others company. However, the hotel was experiencing maintenance issues, resulting in a complete lack of hot water throughout the premises. This unexpected setback immediately dampened our excitement and left us feeling incredibly disappointed.Furthermore, the state of cleanliness in our room was unacceptable. False eyelashes were left on the nightstand, and the surfaces were coated in dust, indicating a lack of attention to detail in housekeeping standards. This only added to our dismay and discomfort during our stay.Despite the inconvenience, we decided to make the best of the situation and checked out in search of alternative accommodations. However, what should have been a weekend filled with celebration and joy turned into a stressful ordeal as we scrambled to find another hotel with availability on such short notice. The inability to enjoy the amenities we had looked forward to, coupled with the time and effort spent trying to salvage our anniversary plans, cast a shadow over what should have been a special occasion. Instead of creating cherished memories together, we found ourselves preoccupied with logistics and frustration. While we understand that maintenance issues can arise unexpectedly, and cleanliness oversights can occur, the lack of proactive communication or attempts to remedy the situation left much to be desired. As paying guests, we expected better service, accountability, and hygiene standards. In conclusion, our anniversary weekend at was not the romantic escape we had hoped for. We sincerely hope that the management takes steps to address these issues and improve the overall guest experience for future visitors.
Jacuzzi worked and was HOTTTTTT. Apparently whatever issue they were having with the hot water was resolved. Stayed in Mayan rain Forrest. Small but nice.Only issue was when checking in around 7pm on Friday — a female staff member had her boyfriend behind the desk and they were eating while checking us in. Unprofessional.
Highly disappointed!! Our breakfast ticket was not picked up at 11 PM like they promised ( plus it’s expensive as hell!!) didn’t get to get our breakfast because we had to work early when I asked the front desk would we be compensated for this inconvenience I was told unfortunately no so I unfortunately canceled will not be returning will never give another dime I promise you do better thank you
It’s been a week since we arrived for a celebration of our honeymoon - and it was the most disappointing days … when we arrived my husband had to take a cold shower- two hours later we received a text message that there was a maintenance issue and was working on the water situation and would provide an update. NO UPDATES ever came - I called the front desk until 1030 pm that evening and then again 7 am and 930 am Saturday morning- NO UPDATES and zero concerns. I then called Monday and Tuesday and was told someone would call me back. Wednesday I missed a call. Called again Thursday and Friday and still told “someone will call you back” The room we stayed in was 221 - the Camelot $400 a night and filing a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General. What they show is not what you get- I’m a member of Marriott and would stay there every night of the year before ever returning here again.
My fiance and I stayed here as part of a wedding party and were disappointed, not only for the price we paid, but the service and state of our room.We booked the Casablanca room for around $250 a night. This is much more than Id usually spend on a hotel, and for that price expect a clean, comfortable and above average experience. The room has a strange setup - as soon as you walk in there is a hot tub in the middle of the room illuminated with a red light with the bed two feet away. The bathroom is very bare bones and the bed is more like a full-size. We were cramped and uncomfortable the whole night. The room was pretty small, and overall seemed in need of a refresh/update, especially for the price youre paying. Our wedding party was supposed to get ready in a bridal suite, but was triple booked by the hotel to other parties. Because of this we lacked a proper getting ready space and had to get ready in a conference room without enough mirrors. We had to use the communal bathroom in the hall which was dirty, didnt have enough towels or toilet paper and had cleaning rags left in it. Just an overall underwhelming experience for what was supposed to be a luxury stay. I suggest the hotel focus on some much needed deep cleaning and train staff to give better customer service.
This place is 5 stars for everything. Excellent staff. Had a large wedding going on at their outdoor venue and still took Excellent care of everyone else at the hotel as well.
If you want to feel like a King and Queen, book your stay here! Everyone makes you feel like royalty and will happily accommodate your every need! The beds and pillows are next level, slept like a baby! The jetted tub with the LED lights will make you want to lock yourself in and never want to come out.The anniversary package was absolutely darling! The champagne, chocolate cake, kisses and chocolate strawberries were perfection.I will say my only downside is that I have extremely sensitive skin and the bath bomb provided did make my skin itchy in the tub. No worries though because before I came I went to Lush and got some for myself because I know Im a sensitive creature and knew this might happen, so sensitive skin people beware! 😅All in all, I cannot wait to book another stay again in the future when I come back to KC! 🤍💖
Cool rooms, very elegant. Service was awesome, food was great. Couldnt have asked for anything more when it comes to weekend getaways.
Was a bit hesitant to book after reading some reviews but I’m glad I decided to try this place anyway. The hotel is gorgeous upon driving in, the staff is very friendly and informative, the room was on theme and more spacious than we imagined. The jacuzzi tub was luxurious and the bed was so comfortable we both slept 8+ hours. We also really enjoyed the breakfast room service option (would highly recommend, very affordable) Chateau Avalon was magical for a romantic getaway. We can’t wait to go back and try a new room, already showing our friends this wonderful KC gem!
What an awesome staff! They all deserve a bonus for how well they handled a full house along with wedding party in house. The few complaints I did have were handled professionally and promptly. The only reason I gave the room 4 stars instead of 5 is becuase it needs a detailed dusting. Other wise the bed and Jacuzzi was 10/10.Breakfast is delivered to your room, and the food 10/10 and affordable.Bar tender was also a 10/10. He worked his A$$ off, held great composure even when there were 20 people trying to order drinks at once.We will be back.
If you’re like me, spending $350.00 for a hotel room is considered quite a splurge and a luxury. We chose Chateau Avalon to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Upon arrival, our room wasn’t ready which isn’t a big deal. There was a wedding going on and they were short staffed. We had to wait for 30 minutes to be able to go to our room but again, that’s not the end of the world. It wasn’t spotless like I had hoped. There were dead ladybugs in the window and rose petals underneath the bed likely from the people before us. There were also large streaked stains on the wall in the bathroom that looked like possible water stains? I would have preferred to have waited longer to feel like I had a properly cleaned room. The rooms are much smaller than the photos make them out to be. It was just the two of us so it wasn’t a big deal either. My biggest issue was that for a hotel that provides large bath tubs in every room, I would’ve hoped for a better selection of shampoo, conditioner and soaps. I had thankfully brought my own so it wasn’t an issue but the small bit of shampoo and conditioner they provided wouldn’t have been enough for both of us had I not.The fridge was also unplugged so it didn’t cool for hours and there are only two wall outlets that we could find in the entire room.Point being, for $350.00+ a night, I guess I was hoping for more of a luxury experience than Chateau Avalon provided. If you’re like me and that price tag is considered a splurge for you too, I would consider looking at some other options.
Me and my fiancé stayed here the night after we had our reception at the Orangery. Both the room and venue were beautiful and better than we could’ve ever imagined! We had multiple people walk up to us and tell us that it was the best wedding they had ever been too! Thank you Chateau Avalon!
I booked two nights in the Havana for a romantic weekend and the staff was so helpful along with the house keepers. It was a clean place and quiet time. We both really enjoyed having a get away and will definitely stay here again in the future!
Stayed one night at the Chateau Avalon. My spouse and I had a great time. Room was fun, service was good, everything was cleaned well, even had a shuttle that was free to take us out and back for free until 10pm. Location was great and near a lot of shopping and restaurants. What wasn’t great was the spa/massage. When you go to a hotel that is themed with a spa, you expect everything to go as planned, especially for the price of things. We ordered a 90-minute couples massage for 2pm 2 months in advance. The morning of our stay, a few hours before the appointment, we get a call saying scheduling was off and the massages end at 3pm so we can only have a 60-minute massage… When you plan in advance for a weekend away and get a last second change like that, it’s unfortunate… but we went with it. Then… our massages started 5 minutes late and ended 5 minutes early. We got a 50 minute massage on top of this instead of the 60 minutes we paid for. That is the reasoning for the 3 star rating. When you go to a place like this, you just don’t expect that to happen and starting the stay off with that isn’t a great way to begin. Luckily everything was good after that.
Amazing service. Great breakfast, perfect walking routes, near the legends and Hollywood casino. The rooms were clean and comfy. Very nice. 10/10 from me.
One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in. You cannot beat the amenities for the price. We will be back!
I took my partner here for her birthday last month. There was a wedding going on so we couldnt park as soon as we checked in. We were given a pass that way our car wouldnt get towed. Was able to find a parking space a couple of hours after our check-in. We stayed in the Colorado Frontier room because she loves Colorado. The room was okay, but we didnt have a remote, and when we asked, they said that they were out of remote. The jacuzzi tub/shower was slow draining, and we were unable to use that. We mentioned it to the front desk, and they came and pressed a button, but it was still slow draining. The bed was a full-size bed with unbareable pillows to lay our heads on. The thermostat was incorrect and never kicked on or off after i set the temp we wanted. We did enjoy the breakfast that we ordered, and the location was fine. We Uber to Westport for dinner one night and then drove out to Overland Park the other night. There was a guest book /journal that people could write their experiences in, and I was reading past entries they said the same thing. We both agreed that we would stay again but in a different room. Maybe one of their luxury rooms.
The staff was great I planned a night away with my wife Kristy helped make that amazing my wife’s favorite color is purple and she went above and beyond to find purple roses for her I recommend everyone to experience this place
Nice weekend getaway. Fun themed rooms, great location with free shuttles to the nearby attractions, Legends mall and casino. The Couples Massage and strawberries with faux candle lights were nice add-ons. We also enjoyed happy hour at their bar. Great service with friendly staff.
This is a tough review to write. I wanted SO badly to like this hotel, the theming concept is so fun and unique and it looks absolutely stunning when you first drive up.Unfortunately, the experience failed to meet expectations at almost every level. I stayed in the New York Penthouse room, and immediately upon walking in you realize that the pictures on the website were probably taken about a decade ago with no renovations since. Scuffs and marks all over the walls and baseboards, sticky (??) carpet that smelled of mildew, yellowed jets and scuffs in the tub, and layers of dust on multiple surfaces including every air vent. I understand with such a unique room with multiple high up surfaces its not the easiest to clean, but for the price (over $500 for two nights) I would hope an occasional deep cleaning would be in the budget.Beyond the general dingy state, the sink drained extremely slowly, the closet was a difficult to reach bar in a corner behind the mini fridge, the bed was not very comfortable and the comforter was a concerningly greyed/yellowed, the stairs (which are a really fun feature in theory!) were pretty creaky and had safety grip on the edges that hurt my toes, there were very few outlets, and no bottled water was provided. When I asked the front desk for water I was directed to a vending machine - which was of course out of water bottles. Providing water to your hotel guests is such a simple thing that could so easily be resolved, yet Ive seen it mentioned in several other reviews here as a negative point. Speaking of water, the shower (which you need to stand in the large tub for) did run out of hot water the morning we checked out.Outside of the room itself, we were very disappointed to discover the spa is truly just one small room next to the guest rooms. I had been hoping to book a couples massage but seeing the room made me realize it would not be the luxury spa experience their marketing would suggest. Additionally, the public restroom outside of the guest rooms was missing soap and any towels aside from a cleaning rag that seemed to be accidently left behind.I was in town for a wedding, and there was a major issue with the largest room / bridal suite (that had been booked over a year in advance) being double booked. As a result we had to get ready in a conference room, which was not ideal (obviously had no bathroom and was a bit awkwardly situatuated with the other guest rooms) and certainly not as picturesque as the room booked. Even more egregious, as I was walking through the lobby I overheard ANOTHER couple having an unfortunate discussion with hotel staff as they were being told that the bridal suite that they reserved already had an occupant for the night, implying that this room had actually been TRIPLE BOOKED! (Update: confirmed later, this was indeed the wedding couple for the next day and they were indeed supposed to be in that same room the same night as our bride - and neither of them received it). This was not my personal experience and Im not letting it affect my review score, but the overbooking seems to be a common issue that you should be aware of if youre hoping to stay in their nicest room.Overall I think Chateau Avalon is a hotel built on an incredible vision, yet had simply fallen victim to poor upkeep and management over the years. I understand the popularity especially with their beautiful event space (Avent Orangery), but really feel like I was misled into expecting a much more luxury and hospitable experience than what they are truly about to offer at this time. Maybe at a much lower price point I would be more understanding of the numerous issues, but over $250 a night is really unacceptable for what you get.1/5 would not recommend. If Im back in town for another wedding at this venue Ill be staying at the Great Wolf Lodge for an equally novel experience without the added issues.
If you need to relax and unwind this is the place you want to be. Surrounded by restaurants for every pallet. Access to a major highway and exchange. If you need something just ask for it. The staff has never let me down. I feel comfortable here.
After working so hard to afford a stay in this hotel and bring my husband to a Chiefs football game for his bday and Christmas we finally made it to the Chateau. Check in was so simple, all done online. We got our room and i automatically start the bath, really wanted to relax with the Jets on. They didnt work.. Ms. Lauren gave us the option for another room. We got see 4 rooms and none of the beds were made, not ready for guest. After realizing that all of them were gonna need taken care of we finally had to make a choice since we were tired. Ms. Lauren made the bed and brought us towels. For a checkin at 3 and no rooms clean ... Bummed out with this hotel.
****Update, the general manager called me to apologize for the incorrect charge and refunded me the entire amount. She was so sweet and assured me she is creating a better training system moving forwardThere are several aspects that were less than impressive about our experience here, but the biggest irritation is they have a sign in their lobby that their etched champagne glass set is $40. So, I purchased a pair, so that we could use them every year on our anniversary. After reviewing the charges, were charged $90 for the glasses. We called Angel at the desk and he confirmed $90 is correct. Why falsely advertise the glasses in the lobby as $40? Now I don’t even want to use them as commemorative glasses as every time I look at them I have a bad taste in my mouth.
Absolutely gorgeous! I had my wedding there and everything was better than I could have imagined: wonderful staff, beautiful location, and amazing, low-stress process! Highly recommend for your event and/or hotel needs!
The room wasnt clean. The entire room really needed to be deep cleaned. The floors were disgusting. I ended up having to ask for a bottle of disinfectant because the entire room looked so gross. I had to clean the ring around the inside of the toliet and clean the tub and sink. The front desk employee seemed so bothered when I would ask questions. I would not recommend this hotel and Im so upset I spent so much money and absolutely hated this experience. This made for a not so enjoyable birthday experience.
My husband and I came for our honeymoon.. i give this beautiful place a 10 out of 10 the staff was absolutely amazing! the bartender at their DNile Bar was by far the best bartender Ive ever had great conversation and top notch service! They accommodated us in every way possible! I cant say enough about this place! This experience here at Chateau Avalon was something Ill never forget!!!
This is a cute, interesting place to stay. It’s an experience, so expect that going into it. It’s beautiful on the outside and the event venue looks pretty cool, there were parties both nights. The only issue with that is the party guests park in the hotel lot when they’re not supposed to, and there’s not someone there who’s capable of preventing that. But it’s not their fault people don’t comply either. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I asked for new bedding because there were hairs and blood stains on my sheets that grossed me out. The new sheets still had hairs on them, so I’d say it’s just time to replace those. But the staff were nice about it and offered to remake the whole bed in the morning when more staff arrived, but I didn’t think that was needed. My room did smell musty and I’m going to assume from the hot tub. The hot tubs are not easy to get in and out and are kind of awkward, but very very relaxing. I couldn’t close the shower curtain all of the way to shower though, and there’s not another shower to use. The thing the curtain hangs on has been broken for a while, I can tell because there are marks on the walls from people trying to close them. Don’t stay in a room with stairs if you have trouble with them. It’s up and down every time you need to use the bathroom, go to the fridge, answer the phone or door, throw something away, etc. as only the bed is upstairs. It’s also not accessible, that I could see anyway. There’s quite a few, steep steps to go up to the front door. There were towels, wash clothes, robes, shampoo, condition, soap, and lotion for bathroom accommodations. The food is very very very good! For breakfast all you have to do is fill out a slip then hang it on your door. They deliver at the time you request and pick it up when you’re done. There are extra services like getting a cheese and fruit tray, which i did and it was actually my lunch because it was delicious and filling. There was a mention of the rooms needing a good deep cleaning, and I would agree. It’s not terrible, just for the price I expect much cleaner.
The room and hotel in general was amazing. Great location and just overall a great experience.
Not worth the price. I waited at least 15 minutes when I arrived for check in. The desk help looked annoyed that I was there. I stayed in the Hemingway Room. The jacuzzi tub shower combo had no working lights. I took a shower in the dark!! Will not be back or recommend to anyone.
We stayed in the Camelot room. It was amazing and the ambience was spot on. It was very clean and the staff went above and beyond in service. We also had the Swedish massage. That literally took 20 years off and we felt refreshed and rejuvenated. Cons-it would have been nice to have a chair for the table by the bed, a second trash can would have been nice and it would have been a plus if the ice machine actually had ice in it. Other than that it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely be returning to check out their other amazing rooms, not to mention a massage.
The Chateau was as expected, very beautiful and located in a great place for gambling, dinner and shopping. The staff were welcoming and the Tuscany room is nice. The jacuzzi tub was a definite plus! Esthetically, they could use some deep cleaning, touch ups in the rooms and a few more power outlets. However, everything was still enjoyable and breakfast was good minus salt and pepper options. I would definitely recommend the cappuccino as it was amazing! Kudos to the Chateau, we would definitely recommend this location!
We got married at its sister venue, Avent Orangery, on Oct 14. Our package through Avent included suites at Chateau Avalon. Avent is gorgeous, but the managing staff at both businesses were so bad that I truthfully wouldnt choose this venue again or stay at this hotel again.Ill start with the quick hits: the hotel is gross. There were blood stains on the robes, centipedes in the bathrooms, my friends shower stopped working halfway through her shower and there was no AC in her room. These are a small selection of issues with the hotel.More specific to their association with Avent: the hotel and venue are booking out (and accepting payment for) the same hotel rooms on the same nights, and both businesses deflect blame for the double and triple bookings onto the other. The following story is long but worth the read. When we found out our bridal suite had been booked out to other guests a few months ago, our wedding coordinator called the hotel and spoke to operations manager Sara Pier, who recognized that they had booked out our room, and said that their plan was to contact the people who had booked our room a week before their stay and tell them that there was a maintenance issue and they had to be moved to another room. (Shady, but aight.) Our coordinator confirmed this a month before the wedding. So we were obviously upset when we showed up the day before our wedding and learned that other people were already in the room. The hotels general manager Kristy Davis clearly caught wind that we were not happy and was immediately up in arms when she came to talk to us. She was visibly annoyed that I was asking for an explanation of how this happened. Turns out it wasnt even just one reservation booked over ours - there were multiple - and Kristy said she personally was unwilling to move even the guests who hadnt checked in yet to other rooms.Later talking to Sara, she said that the issue was squarely the fault of Avents venue director, who she accused of booking out rooms and not communicating that to the hotel. Sara also said they were not apologizing to us bc they were being disrespected (they were not). (Btw this is the same Sara my coordinator had been talking to before the wedding.)The following I learned the day after, but has been verified by multiple people.Apparently, right after the ceremony, Sara pulled my coordinator and MoH aside and told them that shortly before the ceremony, a bride and her mom had broken into the bridal suite and screamed at the teenage guests staying in the room. She said the teenagers mom wanted to press charges and that she (Sara) was about to call the cops to have me arrested. During my wedding.Obviously, my mom and I did *not* break into the bridal suite and/or yell at any teenagers. When I learned about this the next day, my very first response was well lets pull the tapes! But conveniently they dont have cameras in that hallway.Another thing I learned after the wedding is that Sara was sh*t talking me so openly that my friends heard her. My personal favorite was, What a crazy b*tch, she needs to be medicated. Lol.After all this happened, we were reading reviews online and learned that theyve done this exact thing to others. Please peruse other reviews on Avents page for the insane similarities — accusations of abuse from the patron, threats to call the cops, even saying the worst people were the bride and her mom.Sara swears Chateau Avalon is a totally separate business from Avent, but the threats and lies appear to be a coordinated effort. It was the hotel attacking/threatening us, but Avents Google account attacking/threatening the other reviewers- in the same exact ways.Neither myself nor anyone in my party will never let anyone we know stay at this hotel, primarily due to the astonishing lengths the managers were willing to go to ruin our wedding, apparently in retaliation of our (valid, imo) complaints. I strongly recommend avoiding (esp if you dont like blood stains and giant centipedes).
Honestly, I was not that impressed with my stay here. For the price of the room, I didn’t expect everything to be and look so cheap (like the toiletries, bed, blankets, and the robes provided). We got the Havana room, which online looks wonderful. However, the room shares a wall with the hotel bar, so all we heard til 1130 were drunk people yelling and moving around. We wanted a quiet get away from the kids and it just was not what I was expecting. Also, the hot tub in the room has not been cleaned since lord knows when. There was instantly a line of black stuff dirt, and hair on the water (picture is attached showing this line). For $300 a night, I could have stayed anywhere else and had a way better experience.
Me and my wife stayed they for our lil romantic getaway that we both needed with our hectic life we stayed in one the lincoln rooms witch was nice lookin from the pictures but had paint chips falling from ceiling bed was very comfortable the hot water was ridiculous couldnt fill our jacuzzi tub up wasnt able to take a shower to wash off because there wasnt any hot water took a very short shower in the moring and ran out of hot water again right away very un happy about that at first i thought the price was ok but after the stay n litterally no hot water im sayin it was high considering that
I would say overall, we had a great stay with just a few minor annoyances. We stayed in the Hemingway room.Cons: bed was wayyyy too soft and the sheets were scratchy. It is such a nice place in every other way that we were surprised they didnt spring for a better setup there.Pros: Very clean! My girlfriend is serious about that sort of thing and she found little to nothing to her liking. We loved the jet tub in our room. The decor was simple but fitting for the theme (Hemingway.) The staff were mainly pleasant with a few instances of sass but the text updates about the shuttle, bar, etc were a nice touch. We didnt get anything at the DNile lounge but thought it was a cool setup.Affordable, romantic rooms.
Room was smaller than in the picture, had to go to front desk for robes, and ice bucket, no big deal though. Staff was extremely attentive, and am planning on coming back for another stay at a different themed room. Jacuzzi tub was extremely relaxing.
Customer service- 10/10 the front desk was so kind and helpful!Chocolate strawberries- 10/10 so good!Room theme- 10/10Room cleanliness-3/10- unless it gets washed in a washer, there is no wiping down of the tv, remote, channel guide- all covered in previous peoples handprints, corners are not regularly vacuumed or dusted. The tub is clean and has no visible marks or scuffs but the jets have pink mold.
My husband and I (Ribley) stayed this last Saturday. The property is gorgeous and we would have thought our room was as well if it would have been cleaner. We were in the Colorado Frontier that has cabin like wood walls that had a good inch of dust collected on them and the curtains were horribly stained . Yuk. They had a fan in the room that literally blew no air due to the dirt build up on the back. I did not complain and I’d love to go back if I knew it wld be clean. I love the concept. My other issue, we left the area casino a little early so we cld check out the hotel wine bar- it was closed. 930 sat night. I think others may have said something to the front desk because they found someone to open a little later.
This was supposed to be HAPPIEST DAY for my uncle and my god mother. Their HONEYMOON at Chateau Avalon Hotel. But it was not happy for them. To start they spent over $1300 dollars for their stay and while there the bed linens were never changed, they had to request towels a couple of times and they did not receive the breakfast that was included in there package nor what they ordered when they did order. The food tray was outside of their door where it was supposed to be but nothing ever came. They had to request trash bags and no one ever came to service the room the entire time that they were there, which is totally unacceptable based on how much these room cost. To add to all of that the elevator was out of service due to a fire the day before WHAT!!!! Yes a whole fire. Upon checking out they spoke to the manager on duty Christine and she apologized for all that happened BUT that won’t changed the fact that this was their HONEYMOON and was inconvenienced in many ways. I will be filing a formal complaint with the corporate office about this and I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. Please check reviews before you decide to reserve a room at this hotel.
This was a beautiful, cozy, room my husband booked for our 3 year anniversary, the location is pretty quiet and tucked away, makes for a nice get away vacation. it was slightly disappointing to see none of the fountains of lights were running, though.i’m giving this hotel a 3/5 for a few reasons; one being the room was incredibly small. in the bedroom itself, there was about 10 inches at most, of walk room around the bed. i was constantly watching out so i didn’t hit my knee or stub my toe lol. not to mention there was not even a microwave in our room.the second reason this hotel is reviving a 3/5 is because of the service we received. we stayed 2 days and 2 nights; the first morning we tried to leave to do some activities, (the breakfast smelled AMAZING! and we knew as soon as we got back we were going to order it for the following morning) and we were stopped and asked multiple times if we were checking out. we had to explain our dates and that we’d be staying another night. i’m not sure why the woman assumed we were leaving, since i had only had my purse? it felt like we were being rushed out of the hotel.we shrugged it off and went about our day and got back to the hotel around 7/7:30. we filled out our breakfast order and hung it on the door (like instructions said). the following morning rolls around, and the time we ordered breakfast for, was quickly approaching, so i decided to check and make sure they at least took our order off our door- they did not. the instructions say order must be filled out and hung up before 11pm, so we were genuinely confused. my husband called up to ask, and the receptionist apologized and told him they didn’t get our order, because the worker didn’t collect it the previous night, and there was nothing they could do about it.we were super excited showing up, and was even looking forward to coming back and seeing other rooms, but for a little over $600 for two nights, i left fairly disappointed. the patio lights weren’t even on for an hour during the 2 nights we stayed, i feel like we missed out on a lot the hotel claims they have to offer.
I have stayed here on more than one occasion and I cannot get enough of this place. The staff is always courteous, professional and helpful. The rooms never fail to be spotless. Every room Ive been in has a sense of isolation from the world which only adds to the Romanticism between partners. I am so glad I discovered this place.
My sons wedding was held at the Avent Orangery on site at Chateau Avalon and it was absolutely magical - helpful, accommodating staff, aesthetically gorgeous, breathtaking suites. I would highly recommend holding your special events at this location!
I love this place! Ive been here several times and its never disappointing. My favorite mini suite is the Mayan themed rooms. If you are looking for a resort style mini vacation not far from home this is the place to go. The food is good, the drinks are stiff, and the staff if friendly.
Stayed on a Sunday evening for one night after receiving a gift certificate from family. The hotel itself needs to be deep cleaned and a lot of attention needs to be given to cleaning and repairs. In the New York penthouse the carpet felt nasty, there were parts of the ceiling falling off, the baseboard are stained yellow, and there is so many portions of the wall that are just falling off.The bed was really gross and had a large yellow stain on the comforter, we tossed it to the side and let the staff know the next day as it was very late when noticed. It was extremely uncomfortable, and the pillows were as thin as a blanket. Interesting enough, there is a previous review mentioning the yellow stain in the New York penthouse that didnt seem to be addressed. When booking months prior I booked a spa package. The time was confirmed at check in, but the next morning when trying to receive the spa services I was told there is no record of my reservation, thus promoting me not to get a massage. My credit card was charged multiple times, and for wrong amounts despite the fact I used a gift certificate, and it was a hassle to get them to refund correctly. For the price of this luxury hotel, they are lacking a lot of basic cleanliness and overall upkeep. The place should be closed down for a few weeks for a deep clean and remodel. Just see the other recent reviews. In good faith I could not recommend this place to anyone. If youre looking for a boutique, romantic getaway with a spa, do yourself a favor and stay at the Elms.
This was my second stay here. I got the Havana room. I don’t know much about Cuba, so can’t really say it’s Cubano. There was a plastic tree in the corner and one picture on the wall. I only stay at this hotel for the jacuzzi tubs anyway. The check in and out process was easy and done online, but you pick up your keys at the desk obviously. The room it’s self was clean except the bathroom exhaust fan had dust falling. The tub is nice and plenty spacious. My room had hot water the entire stay. The room also had a coffee maker and empty mini fridge. In the morning, I had French toast, eggs, cranberry juice and vanilla cappuccino. Everything was good except the cappuccino. It was thick and very sweet. You do get a mini carafe size, so that was nice. Next time I’ll just order coffee. Pleasant experience overall.
Before I start, let me say my husband made the reservation. You will not find my name in your system as someone who stayed in your hotel, although I did, indeed, stay there. (Want to clear that up in case you try to discredit my review with that illogic like you have other reviewers). Now the review - the outside of the hotel is beautiful, but thats about it. Stayed in the New York penthouse and it just seemed dirty and outdated. Definitely needs a deep clean too. There was hair in the jacuzzi tub. Carpet felt gross on my feet. Room decor was definitely lacking and outdated. Everything is overpriced and the quality of the room service food was awful. Nobody at the front desk when we went to check out. Then, to top it off, I left my pajamas behind and when I called the hotel to see if they found them, they said no. When I told them exactly where I left them, they got an attitude and said they checked again but didnt find them.Overall, it was just not a great experience which you would expect when dropping $300 on a room. Youre better off spending your money at the great wolf lodge around the corner.
I tried to book a Friday night stay for our anniversary and the website said half of the room was due which I paid, and the website confirmed the deposit for half. The next day, I received a very rude email that stated their hotel policy was different for racedays, weekends and holidays; that they require the entire room rate to be paid. So then I canceled the room via email. Then they charged my credit card for the full amount anyway. I had to call to get it the charge canceled, the representative had to call me back later because she had to speak with the manager. When she eventually called me back, the charge had been canceled, but she said it would take 5-10 days for the charge to be reflected back on my card. I dont know why there would be this delay. Dont stay here, it is too much of a fing hassle and their policies are outrageous. I was lucky enough to get my money refunded, but you may not be.
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights for a birthday getaway, it was beautiful and all the staff were very lovely, however the D’nile lounge was by far the best experience we’ve had, Robert (the bartender) was extraordinary, we had great conversations with him, such fabulous drinks ! We will be back when we can!
My husband surprised me with our first 2 night stay away from our 10 month old daughter. The idea of this hotel is phenomenal and we were both so excited to spoil ourselves! Unfortunately, the entire experience was lacking. Every single surface of our room was covered in a thick layer of dust. Both window sills held dead bugs. The night stand had, what I hope, was old milk stains. The first morning we treated ourself to the in house breakfast. My $7 English muffin sandwich and his $13 French toast were both soggy and tasteless. McDonalds has a better breakfast for much less money. When we went to the front desk to discuss all of these problem we were told that the only thing we can do is have management call you. She assured me that management would call no later than Tuesday. Its now been 3 weeks. For the price we paid per night, the entire experience was disappointing. We will never be back and will not recommend this place to friends.
Great place to get away, we have stayed there probably at least a half dozen times and each time was a great experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant choices in the area are excellent. The rooms are unique and well kept. The attention to detail is outstanding. If you need anything they will do their best to make it happen. The parking is good and secure. If you need a break and a chance to get away…this is the place in KC. Absolutely worth the money and drive. Did I mention that I highly recommend this place…seriously it’s totally worth it!!
My boyfriend and I spent our first anniversary together here this weekend. We stayed in the Castaway Isle and really enjoyed the thematic room, giant bathtub with jets, and the suite layout. Unfortunately our stay did end on a sour note. We called to book our reservation a week in advance with the intent on getting a spa package. While on the phone we were instructed to finish booking online and to call to book our massages 24 hours in advance. My boyfriend followed the directions and when he called to book the massages, they said they were booked for the weekend. Luckily the manager worked to get us booked for a 12:15 slot, prior to us leaving and checking out. Unfortunately we we arrived for our massages they ended up being an additional $175, we told the front desk that we thought they were included in our package and she told us those packages were only available when booking over the phone. My boyfriend and I couldnt afford the additional charge so we asked to cancel and she said we needed to pay a $40 cancelation fee since we neglected to cancel 24 hours in advance. I was frustrated to say the least. I cant help but feel whoever initially went to book our stay did not feel like doing their job that day and instructed us to book online instead, which really ended up impacting our stay. All other employees were very helpful but this one persons mistake did take a damper on our otherwise fun and romantic staycation.
Nice hotel and staff! A couple recommendations though for the future. First, I would double check under the bed and the over all room for cleanliness. We found a few things that should have been caught easily by someone cleaning, nothing major though. We had the Caesar room which was very dark and no lightning above the Jacuzzi/shower. Which by the way was a bit difficult to even get into. I would recommend adding some lighting, maybe some LEDs under the huge mural on the wall and one on the Caesar statue. I think it would certainly change the ambiance and feel to the room. Rooms were small with one tiny full round window to look out of. The pics in the Google maps make it look substantial bigger. Also, one 2 panel plug in the bedroom is not enough for modern day society with phones, laptops and iPads. People were a little loud above our room late, but there was kids and a wedding there that night. We enjoyed the massage and breakfast in the am. Overall a good experience and we were pretty happy. Thanks!
Really nice place to stay. I gave the room a 4 for size. The cowboy was a tad smaller than the picture lead us to believe. Went to the bar for a drink but stayed much longer than planned. Stephanie the bartender was a true gem and a pleasure to talk to. Also fellow customers were fun and friendly to chat with.
Dont waste your money. I paid $300/night and stayed 2 nights in the Egyptian room. The room was much smaller than what I was expecting. The jetted 2 person tub was not jetted, the buttons were there but did not work. I paid extra to get the chocolate covered strawberries, but never received them. And the check-in.. The morning of I received an email and did the pre check-in check-in, drove over 4 hours to get there and when we do they tell us my reservation was canceled. They did work out on their end but this just added to the overall disappointment. Then the food. Cant forget the food. The menu shows you this artisan menu of various flatbreads, what you get looks like a frozen Jacks pizza and tastes like cardboard. I tried to order a hot apple pie drink that they showed under their specials but got a call after the order was placed saying thats a fall special only. Which I understand, but if thats the case then it shouldnt be advertised.I cannot stress enough, do NOT waste your money. Go somewhere, anywhere else.
My husband and I had a very relaxing and romantic weekend at Chateau Avalon and especially enjoyed our couples massages and facials the next morning! Jackie and LaShauna are a dream team and we were feeling awesome by the time they worked their magic on us!I do have three suggestions for improvement at the hotel itself:1) Train your staff to put away their phones/take our their ear buds when working the front desk and actually GREET your guests with a smile. We’re paying a lot of money to be here and deserve excellent customer service2) Get smart TVs so we can sign in and watch whatever we want just like at home. Cable TV is so outdated…3) Where are the freshly baked cookies??? We’ve stayed here before and enjoyed this great upon arrival so I hope this unique and welcoming amenity isn’t something that’s been discontinued due to costs. It’s part of the luxury experience!
I would like to comment on the service we received today over the phone! People there were very rude, non accommodating and angel who claimed to be a member of management had sarcastic comment about our options! Besides being unknowledgeable about their chain of command. Apparently they have no clue who the owner is nor who is in charge of the place! Steve Beaumont please stop by and re-train your staff! Don’t let them embarrass you nor your hard earned accomplishments! I’ll be sure to contact & follow up with you directly about this matter. Our room with tax was $550.00 plus we had booked the couple spa package for another $400.00 +tip and room and bottle service ! I moved my reservation to a future date because of how dissatisfied I was with their service!
I hate having to leave this review. My husband and I stayed here recently on our honeymoon and were so disappointed. I read google reviews before we booked and a number of them mentioned it being dirty but we decided to go ahead and give the hotel the benefit of the doubt. The lobby was pretty dirty; we understand it was snowing outside but it still could’ve been better maintained. The carpet in the hallways leading to our room were pretty dirty as well. And when we arrived in the bedroom the floor was also in need of vacuuming, lots of hairs. The tub had what looked like a few red crayon streaks; the soap bottles were not filled all the way; there was a half used roll of toilet paper in the bathroom in addition to a full one. By the fake tree there was a rose petal on the floor, definitely not ours. There was a chunk of something in the bottom of the mini fridge. Also pretty noisy being New Year’s Eve. We’ve stayed in cheap hotels that were much more sound proof and a lot cleaner. Overall very disappointed for the price we paid and for all it’s hyped up to be. The lady at the check out desk was not very friendly and didn’t ask how our stay was. This is a beautiful unique building and has a ton of potential but definitely needs better management.
Pretty terrible experience all around. Not the same room as pictured. Completely different. Super dark, light burnt out flickering. Led jacuzzi was not leding. Sink don’t even drain properly in the bathroom I’m sure that’s been noticed. Breakfast isn’t very good tasting expensive and didn’t even get our drinks in the pouring things which is kind of common sense when clearly we ordered drinks and you sent empty pitchers very comical honestly. A joke of a place and do not recommend anyone.
First off I would like to say it’s astonishing how some people can be so hard to satisfy! My wife and I stayed here Monday night and it was amazing! We stayed in the Myan Rainforest Room! The room was put together well and everything seemed tidy and well kept! Staff was awesome and accommodating! Only problem we had was the patio music was left on after hours and we had to call for it to be turned off but when we did the attendance rep acted swiftly! We will definitely consider going back!
Wife and I have stayed here 3 times now and have enjoyed each stay. The jetted tubs are definitely the highlight, and the unique rooms are pure fun and always charming. Sure, the hotel shows it’s age in some places and the pandemic has been rough for most hotels, but this place is a great value for the price. The few things that could be cleaner or newer are easy for me to look past, and I know there are renovations planned and ongoing. Service has always been great from the front desk to room service they all make you feel welcome and that you are in an upscale environment, some of the negative reviews I’ve read seem unbelievable.Overall it’s a reasonably priced luxury, I much prefer staying at the Chateau than a boring chain hotel.
My husband and I stayed over fathers day weekend for our first trip away together. We booked through choice hotels, I believe, and added the anniversary package to our booking. A few days before our night there my husband received an email saying the hotel and the third party booking site were no longer partners. My husband called to confirm that our reservation was still fine and it was. We booked the Buckingham room because we are both book loving nerds and have talking about staying there for years. The room was very nice, we both loved it. The library for the room was small but it still has room to move about. The room itself I felt was fine in size, I mean for two people how much room should there really be. Everything for the anniversary package was set up in the room accept for the dessert because we were allowed to choose what we wanted and to make sure it didnt set at in the room for a while, also there was no bath bomb left that was listed as part of the package, but we didnt care because we were excited over everything else. Our room was nicely cleaned. I like the location for the hotel, its secluded and quiet. We sat outside for a while on a outdoor swing by the event space. Kathy from the bar is amazing and shes part of the reason we enjoyed our night there so much. The chefs daughter, Im assuming the chef, she was excited to bring the couples their desserts and brought us ours. Shes so cute. The food is a bit pricey but its also a luxury hotel, so my husband and I already knew what to expect. I really dont have any complaints, I work for a hotel so Im already aware with how things run. The things that seem to bother others dont bother me. I cant wait to come back!
We were super excited to stay. The room was a lot smaller than expected, kinda hard to walk around as the bed was nearly to the door in the Colorado Frontier Room. The bed was awful, the pillows were very flat. The ice bucket had plastic and water left in it from the previous visitor. The coffee maker had a piece missing therefore you couldn’t make any coffee. The lounge played music to the outside all night long. When trying to explain some of the issues we had at checkout, the guy had no interest in any customer service. Not very pleased spending $180 for one night and someone not even listening to my concerns/issues. We will not go back or recommend this hotel to anyone.
Owner screamed in brides face after breaking his own contract. Would NOT recommend. This venue sold our pre-agreed contractually allocated rooms to random people forcing half of our guests to find other hotels nearby, as well as giving the bridal suite to another couple that was NOT getting married at the venue. When this mess up was revealed the owner himself came to the hotel and screamed in the brides face when we demanded he fix the situation of double booking most of the rooms including the bridal suite, of which HE SIGNED A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE on top of us making multiple phone calls months before to solidify our reservations with the constantly revolving staff. Between the mess of out of town guests finding their rooms were not available upon arrival, to having to find other hotel rooms, to the owner not taking responsibility for a breech of contact and continuing to act like a child in regards to how he handled it I would not suggest this venue to anyone. Poor management, poor ownership and not to mention the greasy lube palm prints all over the walls of our room, the pipes leaking water out of our ceiling in the middle of the night to the smell of mold in the room.. this place is NOT a premium destination. Despite having a contract.. beware.. they do not honor what they promise.Edit: And as you can see by the review response, and the responses on all other negative reviews, this company will create fabrications to discredit negative reviewers. I would suggest Chateau Avalon contacts their lawyer to ask them how intelligent their response is considering they show here on this review page again and again that they cannot conduct themselves in a professional manner. I appreciate your post as it will make taking further actions easier.
My husband and I first stayed at the Chateau 16 years ago when we were first married. We thought it would be fun to stay again after we renewed our wedding vows this past Sunday. We were quite disappointed in the cleanliness of the room we were in. When we asked for a different room, they said all the rest were either taken or dirty. We had stayed at the Chateau another time and had a good experience but we were highly disappointed this past week. The tub was dirty and the rest of the room felt dirty. Sadly, that was our last time staying at the Chateau.
The best part was the wait staff. Very friendly and professional. The room (Havana) looked very clean and nicely themed. The whirlpool in the room was wonderful. Felt great on a sore back. The breakfast was very good and the hot chocolate was at the right temperature. The parts I didnt like: couldnt book a massage at the hotel (If you book online immediately call to book your massage, because they will not send any additional emails about booking a massage during your stay and their is not a way to book it online). I was told all their time slots were full and they dont do massages on Tuesdays (that info was not available anywhere on their website). They do have a bar and the website did give their times/days open but the one day they would be open, the bar was closed to guesses because of a private party booked the bar area. I understand businesses can do this but it would have been nice for the hotel to contact guests before about a private party would be there and what would not be available, especially when the room you booked is around the corner from the bar.The mattress was super soft. I felt like I was going to roll to the middle of bed while laying close to the edge. I like firmer beds but it might be a positive for some.
If you haven’t stayed at the Chateau Avalon in KC, I highly recommend it. Are you looking for a quiet, romantic getaway? Stay here!!Themed rooms are so fun. HUGE jetted tubs in every room.Room was very clean, housekeeping even called the room to check on our needs.Beautiful grounds. We walked all around the grounds.Hotel is a bit away from downtown, but the drive to downtown and to Overland Park is so quick. Having the peace and quiet was worth it.I plan to return to this hotel every time I come to KC.
The hotel staff was amazing. The bartender downstairs was a 50/10. Robert was very professional and very personable. Will definitely be back just to have a drink from Robert.
The rooms are nothing like the pictures!! We had a 32 inch TV and the bedroom was a sauna from being up in the loft area. Paid 12.99 per breakfast and my boyfriend literally only got 4 pieces of french toast, nothing else on the plate at all and I got this bowl no bigger than the palm of my hand with egg and stuff and that is all I got!! We went to get in the hot tub, started it and all this dirt came out of it!!! I have pictures of everything! It was horrible! You would think with an almost $300 a night room, that you would at least get a free breakfast and a bigger TV!
UPDATE 1/4/23I am moving this from a 1 star review to 3 stars thanks to Alex. After days of no response, we received a very apologetic call from her and a full refund. While I wish it never came to that and didn’t take so long, we nonetheless appreciate her customer service and candid apology.UPDATE as of 1/3/23We have left multiple voicemails with the hotel and Director of Guest Relations regarding our incorrect overcharges, lack of refund, and other issues. Between this and emails we are up to around 10 points of contact completely ignored and have had to contact the BBB.Original review:Do NOT let the outside fool you; we did. To start our long away 10yr anniversary trip we received a call from the hotel the night before we were to check-in advising they were cancelling our couples massage. We booked those in August and it was December 27th when we received this notice. They advised they would give us a $175 credit on our bill and still haven’t! They’ve now completely ignored 3 different follow-ups/requests.We debated if we should cancel our stay since they arbitrarily cancelled our massages and that’s why we booked, but decided since the place looked so nice we would make the best of it. That was a mistake! The room we checked into was tiny. You can see the whole room almost in the image. We switched rooms and then on the morning of our anniversary they woke us up 35mins before our scheduled by knocking on our door. With the breakfast for 2 came NO silverware, one coffee cup for a pot coffee that smelled like mildew, cloth napkins that were brought and smelled musty like they were out away wet. We had enough and just left that morning to find better accommodations in the plaza. We figured we would get a refund and they’d want to make things right, instead they’ve completely ignored various points of communication AND instead of providing the $175 credit they promised, have apparently billed us for massages!!! My initial booking for $351 and my card was charged $571. We are having to get our bank to reverse the charges and plan to go to the BBB since they’ve opted to just ignore the issues and promise. The only two positives of this hotel were how it looked outside and the one kind employee who was friendly and helpful when we checked in, however, we sadly didn’t catch her name and have had no one else willing to even respond to us or right their wrongs. Please note: anniversary package for $89 with rose pedals and champagne comes with warm champagne and FAKE paper rose pedals.
Great experience from booking to stay and Checking out! I worked with Cindy I believe she is one of the managers there and she went above and beyond to accommodate my request! We order bottle service, massage, rose petals, chocolate strawberries, the whole romance package which I highly recommend! Our theme room was West African and we were blown away! Anytime we needed something they were faster than Jimmy Johns delivery! Hats off to the entire staff and ownership. We really enjoyed ourselves and my wife had a fabulous birthday!! Certainly we will return again, but the next time I want to stay in the Egyptian theme room. I highly recommend this place!!
We stayed in an Egyptian room. Its a beautiful room with a jacuzzi tub/shower. First Ill state the good things about our stay. The bed was comfortable and clean. The tub was awesome although the jets could use a thorough cleaning. Never used the shower though, it dripped on us constantly while we were in the tub. The bar was super fun and our bartender Pat was amazing! The negatives about our stay: the room didnt have a microwave or coffee maker. Room service was nice but expensive and the food was mediocre. Definitely not worth what I paid for it. Breakfast was not included which was a bummer. There was a charge for everything. I can stay at the Holiday Inn for less, in a much cleaner room, tub is clean, Breakfast is included, theres a coffee maker and microwave in the room and its less expensive. Overall, Im disappointed with Chateau Avalon and will not go back. Hope this helps.
The concept is very cool (which is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1). The rooms look amazing. However this hotel is so poorly run/mismanaged. None of their staff is on the same page. They asked us which theme we preferred over the phone when making the reservation. No one in our party got the rooms we requested. They kept trying to put us all in the Lincoln Room, which is basically just a plain room. And when we complained about not receiving our reserved room, we were moved into a nicer room, however we were charged for the upgrade. This should not be an upgrade if you are fixing a screw up on your end. Will not be going to this hotel again. Cool idea/facilities. Terribly run business.
Overall, the room and the experience was mostly what me and my girlfriend expected for what we paid. The problem I had, occurred the morning after our night. We put out an order for breakfast the night before, and at around 9-10am, we get a knock at the door, I answer, and a man asks me to sign a paper confirming the price for breakfast. I sign it, he asks if I want the food to be put outside the door or brought into the room whenever he comes back with it, I said outside the door is fine. I check outside the door periodically every 20 minutes for the next hour and 45 minutes, just for nothing to arrive and no knock at the door. I call the front desk to ask whats going on, and they try to tell me that my food had already been delivered. I explained what happened and that I never received the food, and that they can even search our room or ask the kitchen where they put if and if they took it back with all the food still on the plates. They offered to credit me my money back which is great and all, but the REAL problem was that they would not allow me to reorder any food whatsoever, and there was absolutely no food in the entire hotel besides a vending machine from the literal 90s with a pop tart in it. So me and my girlfriend spent the morning hungover, starving, and unable to enjoy the jacuzzi in the room (50% of what we paid for) because we couldnt sit in it for 5 minutes before feeling like passing out due to no food/drink/hangover. We didnt have time to leave the hotel to get food after this ordeal AND make it back to enjoy the jacuzzi and pack up in time for checkout. Just a miserable morning
This is my second stay at Chateau Avalon. The first was a decade ago. I had very fond memories and was excited to come back.Overall it was a good experience. We stayed in the cheapest room, which is the Havana. The room was cutely decorated, the jet tub was still amazing, and the location (outside of Legends) cant be beat. The robes were luxurious. The breakfast was also good. It was a very romantic way to celebrate our anniversary. Now the negative. I was amused you could see the fake tree was situated in a paint can in the planter. No big deal. We asked for breakfast at 9 and said my boyfriend was allergic to cheese. I was less than amused when I was woken up at 7:47 to our breakfast arriving. Our phrasing should have been that my boyfriend is allergic to dairy. That was our fault. Both breakfasts had either cheese or a milk product included. But the biscuit and gravy was good and the pastry plate was lovely. I was little disappointed as when I came years ago you got to select your breakfast and it came with a cinnamon roll. Now you get whatevers delivered. The note included on the table still indicates the old way so I dont know how recently they changed the breakfast method. The TV has cable and no streaming services. Its fine, but feels outdated. This room was too tiny to have side tables, and this also meant there was nowhere to charge our phones conveniently. We also couldnt find the light dimmer for the light over the bed. We found it in the morning by the curtain on the other side of the room. Now, I dont count this against the hotel, but this is the reality of staying in the Havana room here. Hell is other people, as the saying goes. We were woken up three times throughout the night by our neighbor who either overindulged or was terribly sick. We listened to him dry heave and puke multiple times through the night and it was very audible. Im not a light sleeper and it woke me easily. Additionally our room was on the first floor. There was a cute walking path out our window. Where some other guests decided to meet up and have a chat at around 6:30 in the morning. Also try not to let your door close on its own because it slams and reverberates down the hall.In short, I would come back here probably. Again, the location cant be beat, and the overall vibe is very romantic. But I wouldnt do the cheapest room again.
The room smelled like mold. I guess to be expected when theres bathtubs next to carpet but that definitely needs to be addressed. The food was absolutely horrible. It definitely was frozen food warmed up. We had champagne delivered that was not chilled at all. We were so excited for this stay and so completely disappointed. Well definitely never go back.
When I arrived on Friday evening, my TV service and internet stopped working after about 20mins (New York Penthouse). No matter the channel you turned to, you receive a still picture with an error message. The thermostat in my room was broken as well.I reported the incident to the front desk attendant, and she informed me that the entire hotel was without internet and cable service. She also informed me that if I hold the button on the thermostat for 15secs it should work. The solution she suggested for the thermostat did not work. The next morning I requested to speak to a manager ( I believe her name was Ashley). After I told the manager about my issues, she said she would give me a $88 discount for the cable and internet being down and also for the thermostat being broken. The room rate before the discount was $285 per night. The manager never suggested anything to fix the thermostat so I had to stay from Friday to Sunday with uncontrollable temperatures in my room.Hopefully this was a one off situation, but as my first time staying here, I would rate my experience a 4/10
I hate having to leave this review — the room itself was cool, I loved the Egyptian theme it was unique. And the bar was amazing, Cathy was wonderful to chat with and she made very tasty drinks — But for $200 a night, I really expected a much cleaner room. First off I found a rose petal on the floor by the tub, didn’t think much of it I figured it was just one, maybe they missed it when they cleaned. But then as I was going to the bathroom I noticed the trim by the door — mold maybe? I really, really don’t want to know... then the bathroom door itself had hair on it and some splatter spots? Not my hair, it was there when we got there. Very beautiful building just expected a lot more.
My husband and I stayed here the other night on our wedding night and it was absolutely amazing. We stayed in the Hemingway suite and it was so cozy. The huge soaker tub and waterfall shower were so nice! Having breakfast delivered to our room that morning was just the cherry on top. I loved that we got to customize our order and even specify a time we wanted it delivered. We also suuuper loved the noon check out time but appreciated the flexibility they offered us if we wanted to check out later than that.
It was an okay stay. Very short, I was only there to pick up my husband from the airport and have a nice night away. We unfortunately didnt get to use the hot tub but the robes that were provided were so soft and comfortable. We did not do any in-house services because our stay was too short. They were doing construction during our stay so there were a few things off limits to our stay and we had to enter from the basement which made me incredibly confused about the layout of the hotel. Overall it was an okay stay, the room wasnt as nice as I assumed it would be for the price.
What an improvement! We stayed here in February and it was not good-had a few big, mood killing issues but I spoke to the GM and i decided to try again sometime. Im glad i did because this was much better. Our room was the Tahitian Treehouse and it was really cute and clean. Beware though if you cant do stairs or have little ones because it has kind of steep wooden stairs that could be a problem. But the bed was super comfy, TV was small and you cant see from the jacuzzi but that was okay Im not big on TV anyway.Front desk staff was much friendlier this time. We heard almost no noise through the walls. Gotta hand it to a place that reads their reviews and actually tries to fix things. Very impressed and now think I will stay there again.
Everyone was very sweet and awesome. Which made the stay pleasurable. Learn the pricing before you order, Im not sure we ever see the breakfast pricing and was surprised at the bill but you absolutely pay for convenience. Things were clean and worth saying again- staff is amazing.Perfect placement being close to anything you can think of while also being slightly tucked away. The traffic and hustle of the Legends down the street has no effect of the peaceful and romantic ambience.I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway or staycation that can afford the luxury the Chateau Avalon provides. Its not a budget hotel but again, provides the luxury you would pay for.
Booked a room in January for June 17th 2023 in the Egyptian themed room. On 5/17/23 I get an email that my reservation was cancelled. Called the hotel and they cant find a reservation under my name. Was planning on staying here so we didnt have to drive home after a concert that night. Every hotel around is booked now. Thats a horrible way to run a business. I can guarantee Id never stay here after that and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone either
My boyfriend and I booked the Egyptian Palace room for our One Year Anniversary. I wasn’t sure what to expect due to a lot of negative reviews on here but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and decor was nice. There is a cute patio in the back which we liked. The jacuzzi in our room was amazing. The bed was nice and comfy. The only thing I would say is they need to include a channel guide and also they need to add some more breakfast options. Or complimentary breakfast as well. The pricing is Ok. Could be a little cheaper but overall it was a nice stay. I do think we would stay again.
Me and my spouse had a beautiful time in our Tahitian themed room it was beautiful I definitely felt like I was on an Island somewhere and not in Kansas lol 😂 not only was it beautiful but it was nice and clean as well. Definitely enjoyed the LED jet tub❤️ we will be coming back to experience another theme next time🥰
Saved the vacation! After having to switch hotels. We found a hidden surprise and the best experience I have ever had at a hotel.Exceptional customer service by the Service staff. Extraordinary accommodations. The room was quaint and romantic. D’Nile lounge bar was the perfect way to end a terrible experience at the other hotel but start a wonderful night at this new place!Pat the bartender know what I wanted to drink before I even knew. Best cocktails I have ever had well with the price!!We will be back for sure and are extremely excited to see what the other rooms look like, 23 different themes rooms I can’t wait!!Thank you is just not enough to express our gratitude!! 110% recommended!!
Pros:-Staff was nice-The Bartender was really nice-The bed and pillows were soft-The jet tub was funCons:-Didnt realize my card hadnt been charged when I booked the room, but that you pay when you get there.-The pretty white cloth that was suppose to be covering our bed wasnt there and thats one of the biggest parts of why I chose the room.-Wall in bathroom and some in bedroom needed some real work. Kind of gross.-Food was good, but very overpriced for what you get.Overall, the hotel was nice, but if your wanting to go to a Luxury hotel for the price Id look somewhere else. I heard they may be doing updates, so if thats true, maybe well try again someday.
The place definitely lived up to expectations. Room was nice and clean. Bed was smaller than mine so it seemed small lol but still it was as it was described. Definitely will be back. Room service in the morning was awesome!
Good things first. We stayed in the Serengeti room, and the room theming is fantastic. The decor is fun, and the Anniversary package we added was a great choice - when we got to the room, there was champagne on ice, rose petals (fake but pretty) on the bed, and little electric tea candles around the tub, which were all very nice. We got breakfast delivered to the room for one morning and it was delicious.Honestly though, a lot of the rest of our experience was okay at best. The thing Im most frustrated about was we booked the Serengeti room in large part because in the photos it had a large triangular tub. While the tub was a nice, deep jacuzzi tub, it was regular shape/width. Looking back, the room we stayed in is laid out differently from the photos - like theyve retrofitted another room with the same theme? The bar and spa services were 2 of the biggest reasons we booked here. Upon arriving on Sunday evening for our 2 night stay, we were informed that the bar closes at 8pm on Sundays and isnt open on Monday or Tuesday (this isnt listed on the website, as far as we could find). We asked about booking a couples massage (because we couldnt find a place to book online) and were told we needed 24 hours notice... and the spa is closed on Tuesdays.Staff that we interacted with during our stay were nice but seemed a little unsure of what they were doing. We asked to make sure we werent charged for 2 days of the Anniversary Package, were told we werent, and realized we actually were when we noticed our bank charge was higher than it was supposed to be - to be fair, this was cleared up when we checked out and we were refunded in a couple days after our stay.Various other small problems... There was a lightbulb out when we arrived and there was stuff under our bed that hadnt been cleared. Our rooms fridge was nice sized; however, we found out the room didnt come with a microwave. And while the breakfast was delicious, we set our time for it for 10am and had the knock on our door for it at 9:35am (we were still in bed and had to scramble to dress and make it down the rooms stairs to the door).Long story short, the theming, fun things we were hoping from this hotel were great! But some basic hotel things need some clearing up - and dont stay here Monday or Tuesday if you want to get in on any of the additional amenities.
The room was very adventurous! The decor was phenomenal! For the price, I expected it to be flawless, but noticed unpainted drywall in the jacuzzi area which messed with my relaxation. There also was a lack of outlets near the bed, and in fact, upstairs period. There were only 2, and the television and fan were plugged into those. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to possibly visiting again and exploring another room.
Unique experience, but overpriced. My wife and I stayed here for our one-year anniversary. We booked the Renaissance room. It was very fancy, but there were subtle things in the room that were not clean, or were broken (see pictures). The staff was very friendly, and courteous.Breakfast was ok, but the Belgian waffle and cinnamon roll were cold when we got them, and seemed like they had been sitting quite awhile when we got them. We would have microwaved them to bring them back to life, but there is no microwave in the room. The bed was very comfortable, though they really need to vacuum under the bed at least once a week. They also need to dust all surfaces at least once per week.We would return for another visit, to experience other themed rooms, though we would probably go out to eat for breakfast, instead of getting room service.
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very nice, and we loved the jacuzzi. The young ladies and the front desk were wonderful, and the lady at dnile was a blast! I can see that the price might be a little much, but the theming was cool. I have absolutely no complaints, and we intend to come back and try a different room.
Stayed the night here for a birthday get away for my sweet wife. We had a great time. My wife’s big request was a jetted tub and the Avalon did not disappoint. That said, while the concept of the Avalon is great, the property is showing its age and needs updating and some TLC. Further, at this price point the Avalon is a huge disappointment. Do not spend your money here. The New York Penthouse I stayed in needs new carpet. The carpet is fitting a locker room - perhaps they should name this room YMCA Locker room, instead of NY Penthouse. The room is also in need of a new paint job, and perhaps a new floor plan. The room consists of a jetted tub area below which is nice and a bed room loft space above. It would be nice if there was a sitting area. It would also be nice if there was a nightstand on both sides of the bed. Furthermore, and the main reason for a one star review instead of a two star review is the nasty comforter we slept with that was cleverly hidden from our sight with a white sheet above it and a white sheet below. However, to our disgust, in the morning, we discovered a nasty large yellow stain in the middle of the comforter. Ick. Also the room service breakfast we ordered was served cold.It gets worse…. Upon check out I calmly report this issue to the front desk. The front desk agent looked at me with a blank stare and indicated that he knew about this and that It had been reported before. He mistakenly thought we were the ones who had reported it. He comped our $30.00 cold breakfast as compensation. The worst example of hospitality I can recall in my experience.
Stayed in the Havana room. $200 for the worst night ever. The head of the bed was broken so it made us feel like we were sleeping on a hill. The website described a king size bed but it was only a queen but really seemed more like a full size broken bed. The lamp was disconnected and the connection was under the bed. There was a wedding with fireworks going on until late in the night. The window curtains didn’t provide coverage enough for the window so there was light pouring into the room all night from the wedding The website had an anniversary package that I thought we were signed up for included in the very high price for the room. Apparently that was an extra $100 on top of what I already spent. The bed frame was damaged all over. The room doesn’t have temp control and the tub is in the carpeted room with you which is just gross by the way. It worked really well to heat our entire room to be unbearably hot until the tub was off and drained. The one redeeming factor was the staff was very friendly and tried but there is only so much staff can do. So the one star that I am forced to give has to go to the staff. The place was so bad that by 4:00am I had had enough and we just left. One of the worst nights I have ever had and will never be returning.
All window dressing and poor substance. We booked our weekend stay through an exchange program, so we overlooked the hangups we had in getting reliable info during the booking process. However, the week of our trip, everything fell apart. Our original room had a problem, so we were moved to a different room. The room we ended up in was big on decoration and low on comfort. The pictures on the website were misleading (the in-room tub was not at all the same) and the private balcony is a decorative rail along a wall with a mural. Several lights were flickering annoyingly. The one we asked to be replaced was promptly taken care of, however it was replaced with a flood lamp, which was not ideal. At night, there were multiple exterior lights aimed right at our bedroom windows, making the room terribly bright. A smoking station was right outside our window, which was rather loudly being used by bar patrons until after 1am. We had to ask for a different room so we could sleep - what we were able to get was again, right above the outdoor bar seating, cramped and all decoration and no room to comfortably settle in. We had planned to spend an anniversary weekend getting some quality time together in a comfortable room. Instead, we decided it was preferable to just drive the 2 hours back home at 2am. The desk staff seemed disinterested in helping customers throughout. As we left, the night staff was not really apologetic or interested in finding a solution, they only wished us a good evening and offered to email us a receipt for the charges which Im still not sure what were for. This property seems to mostly rely on the gimmicks of decoration and themed rooms and was horribly lacking in hospitality, comfort, and service.
Hotel when walking in is not very inviting. We got checked in and went straight to our room. The front desk gave us two vouchers for drinks since they couldnt get us in for couples massage. The room was not how the pictures show it. We got the Lincoln room which felt smaller than I was thinking it would be. Theres no closet space to hang clothes or coats. The hot tub does get very hot and filled up. Their bar is what we loved the most. The service in the bar was very pleasant and their drinks very tasty. Bed in our room very comfortable.
I want to start out by saying the staff here are very kind and helpful, so it makes me sad to leave this review. However, if you are used to traveling and staying in luxury hotels, I think you will be disappointed ,like I was….if you stay here.Upon arriving, we immediately didn’t like our room. There was no closet, the sink didn’t work, and there was a big fingernail clipping in the bathroom on the floor. Knowing this room was an entry level room, I called the front desk and asked for an upgrade. They kindly showed us around and we were able to pick another room, but it was still small. There were no closets, no shower, and the bed was crammed into a space in order to make room for jacuzzi. The bed and bedding seemed lower quality, The heating was sketchy, and we could hear all surrounding neighbors. The next day we had our couples massage in the “spa” the spa was one small room, no bigger than a bedroom. The lady who did mine had very cold hands, so it was mediocre at best. For our last night we asked for a different room. They accommodated again (but we had to pay the price difference). Overall, the room was pretty and much bigger than the other two. But it smelled of sewage/mildew, which got worse after we used the hot tub. This room also had a shower, that had someone else’s hair wiped on the wall. At this point our stay was almost over so we just waited it out. This place needs renovated and more cleaning staff. I love the concept, but again, if you are used to REAL luxury hotels, this is going to fall short for the price. I do appreciate how kind the staff was, but the hotel fell short on many levels. We will not plan on staying again.
I was nervous to stay here after seeing all the bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. We stay in the Hemingway. It was small but cute and clean. The front desk was present, kind and prompt. The tub was large and relaxing. Overall good experience.
My wife and I just came for our 2 year anniversary. It created a very relaxing environment for us. We stayed in the tahitian treehouse room. The jet tub was beyond words. The room fulfilled our expectations! It was cool to have a loft style bed!My wife and I got 90 minutes massages which proved that we definitely needed them. Well worth the money!Because of this experience, we will be back soon! Thank you Chateau Avalon!
Wife’s and I first year anniversary, wanted to splurge. surprised her and stayed in the Tuscany suite and she loved it. Pricey, but worth every penny. Definitely worth getting the breakfast delivered in the morning. Book way in advance as the room goes quick!
This was definitely a get away experience. Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. Rooms were cool except had an issue with our jacuzzi tub. This is the only reason for a 4 star rating. Staff was awesome and comped us up to a better room. Spa/massage was very relaxing, breakfast was pretty good, a little pricey, and the denial bar was awesome. Pat the bartender is very good at what he does. Very courteous, friendly, and great drink maker. His Bloody Marys are amazing, and this is coming from someone who does not like them. Overall great experience. Will definitely go back and hopefully stay longer so we can enjoy the rooms and bar.
My husband surprised me with a stay at Chateau Avalon for my birthday. It was magical! The room was luxurious but super comfortable - the bed was like sleeping in a cloud! We enjoyed the two person spa tub, and the breakfast in bed option is definitely the way to go. The staff was all pleasant and extremely helpful, and the grounds and surroundings were beautiful. Close to the Legends shopping center, the Hollywood Casino, and the Speedway, but still feels like its miles from anywhere. Definitely will return for another stay!
I reserved the Pirates Cove room for a Romantic & Fun Birthday stay-cation. Shiver me timbers, I was not dissapointed with the amenities. The bed was very comfy with a lot of pillows! Very sturdy, no squeaky. Our favorite was the jacuzzi tub. It was perfect size for a relaxing couples soak. They had two bath robes ready for lounging. They did not have steps to climb out of the tub which was awkward. The over head bucket apeard to be inadequate, but turned out to be very high pressured shower. We brought out on snacks and stocked the mini-fridge. It was nice that they had a lot of available things to purchase in case you forgot. We could have ordered room service. The pirate themed Mural, palm trees, and bone/skull fence were an awesome touch. We had a nice view of the patio, but there was a spot light pointed at the window so we kept the blinds closed.
I was not overly impressed this time. There was fake rose pedals on the floor but they were not from us so I dont know how clean the room was because I dont know how long they were there. Second the last time we went there a couple years ago the breakfast was included not extra and not as great as the prices they wanted for them. However the couples messages were amazing so thank you for those (we knew those were extra which was so worth it) However the room right by it was blasting their music so we could not fully enjoy the peaceful music and experience that we wanted. We knew that the amazing ladies giving us our messages had nothing to do with it. Also the elevators were out so that was sad, trying to find the stairs to go to the top floor to go to our messages.
Pricey for what you get, the rooms have started to age with no updates. Update 6/7/24. Paid for the rose petal turn down service didnt get it. This is not the first time we have paid for extras without receiving them.
We stayed here one night for our 9 year anniversary. Since it was a slow night they upgraded us to a bigger room for free. The man that checked me in was so helpful and nice! The woman working the night shift was nice as well. We had such a great night and I love the jacuzzi tub in the room! The room was clean and looked nice. The only thing I wish the room had was a refrigerator, I knew ahead of time that they didn’t have one so it’s not a huge deal. We just had to bring in a cooler for our drinks. That’s my only negative. Other than that we had an amazing time and will be back!
We were in room 116 this past Saturday night the room was completely disgusting the bathtub was dirty from whoever used it before the shower head did not come on and would not come on the paint was all chipped the wall was disgusting like it was patched up but not painted over it was just so completely gross, dirty and definitely not worth the money we spent motel 6 would have been a better and I have been trying to get a manager on the phone and all they tell me is a manager is not available for the last 2 days and I say well whos in charge and I have left my number and no return phone call on this issue this place is definitely not worth the money in the room had a bad been waiting on a manager to call me for the last 2 days they refused to put a manager on the phone I as who is in charge and all they tell me is the manager is not
When we made the reservation for the hotel we added the food & mood package which was supposed to be in our room waiting for us. When we arrived to the hotel we were given keys to the incorrect room we had reserved. Once we got that changed we arrived in the style room we had reserved but there was NO food & mood package in the room like we were told would happen. When we contacted the front desk she said that she could come down & add the rose petals & champagne to the room. We were already in the room & we had settled in after a long flight & just wanted to relax so we asked that it be removed from our charges which were done. There was nothing special about the hotel that made it stand out from other hotels once we arrived there. During the booking we really felt like this hotel would stand out above all the other choices we had for that area. The bar we were told was closed that night, which was a Tuesday, & the same thing we were told as far as a shuttle to Hollywood Casino. I thought this was fairly odd w/the casino being just across the street. The side door to the hotel was supposed to be locked from 10PM - 6AM. There was no way that door couldve locked due to no latch being present on the outside so anyone that wanted access to the hotel could easily walk in anytime they wanted to which didnt help as far as security is concerned. I feel like the price I paid for one night(which more than I paid for 3 nights at another hotel) was very unreasonable due to what was expected & what we actually got in return. I ABSOLUTELY would never recommend someone staying at this location. Also the pictures online of the rooms showed large windows but the room we were placed in had a very small window at the top of the wall which made you feel like you were staying in a dungeon.
I have a few complaints. First off, when i asked the front desk for an extra blanket, the employee told me they do not give out extra blankets and that I should just turn my heat up. For $300 a night, you can give me an extra blanket. Second, the staff at the front desk are not friendly at all. Third, the carpets down all the hallways is pretty filthy, the weather has not turned bad yet so there is no real excuse to have filthy unclean carpets. It makes the hotel seem dinghy. Finally, the light in our bathroom was directly connected to the fan and they used the absolute cheapest exhaust fan money can buy so anytime I turned the light on it was accompanied by very loud exhaust fan screeching. We had the Lincoln suite. Overall, this place is just not worth the money, go over to Great Wolf Lodge and spend a little more to play in the water.
My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon. It is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Our room was a Mayan themed room. It was clean and the artwork was incredible. The staff were friendly and professional. Made for a romantic getaway. It had a hot tub with orange lights inlayed in the tub to give a volcano affect in the dark. It was very cool. Unfortunately a lot of the services were not provided that are usually as we were there in Nov. 2020 which was right in the middle of COVID. Im sure we would of had a better experience if we had everything available to us then, but it was still very nice and would definitely go back. I highly recommend this place to those who want a romantic getaway or to reconnect with their significant other.
You know I was seriously under impressed with Chateau Avalon. I thought it was going to be really cool to get one of those themed rooms but they have been used quite extensively. It was a little outdated. The staff wasnt altogether. Super enthusiastic and in general the place was kind of small and old. Im sure its quite and everything and probably the more expensive rooms were nicer but it basically just kind of felt old like I needed to be remodeled. It was a little tacky
My wife and I stayed in the Camelot suite for our first anniversary. Love the room love the theme we had a wonderful time. We also had couples massages that we thoroughly enjoyed and felt was worth the value. The hotel overall is very interesting and has a great concept. We look forward to experiencing other room Adventures. The only negative feedback I can mention is the fact that when we booked our room and massages they failed to recognize that the spa was closed on the date that we chose. Six months later in one week away from our stay they called to inform us of this miscommunication. Fortunately they made the accommodations to honor our original choices.
So me and my husband stayed for a romantic night away. We stayed in the castaway room it was really neat. I really enjoyed the turn down service with the rose petals and tea lights. The jacuzzi tub was also relaxing. My husband and I went to the bar for a drink and that was another great experience. Pat the bartender was super friendly plus he makes a strong drink which was amazing
The themed rooms are great, my wife and I had a very relaxing stay in the Mayan Rain Forest room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. This was our 3rd stay, we plan to stay in every room at the Chateau over time.
We stayed here for a special occasion and we were not disappointed! The staff was friendly and attentive. I had to call and change the times for our couples massage and they were helpful and even called me back to confirm. The bar was fun and the bartender was friendly and creative. We stayed in the Monte Cristo room and it was great! We loved the hot tub and the bed was comfortable. The shower was huge and nice. The massage staff was talented and professional. Look online at all the rooms before you book--there are so many fun ones to choose from. We cant wait to go back! Highly recommended! Five Stars!
We just recently stayed there for our Anniversary. The room was cozy and the bed and pillows were nice as well. We enjoyed how close everything was but it was also quiet and off by itself . The couples message was amazing! The staff was nice and very professional. I will definitely have to come out again.
Everything about our stay was alright. The room was smaller than expected but clean. We were only there for one night but we had an unexpected wake up call around 7am. At first I just thought it was the people above us being noisy. Lots of loud banging around but I tried to go back to sleep but then we heard a loud whirling noise. We thought that maybe it was huge blenders making breakfast and we tried to be understanding. But by 8am we realized it was actually power tools like a drill going. We both were wide awake at this point. My boyfriend went out and ask the receptionist about it and she just barely apologized and we’re like oh yeah there doing something. I understand needing to do maintenance but really before 8 am? Most people spend the extra money to relax and enjoy the room but we weren’t going to sit around listening to that so we checked out before 8:30am.
We had an amazing stay. If you are a guest looking at the cosmetics of the place with a microscope, you may be in the wrong place (judging on negative reviews). But if you want a fun romantic night away this is great. We came here for our wedding night and were impressed. Romance package was nice and strawberries were delicious. Breakfast was very good, nice and hot and fresh food. Didnt visit the bar this time as our time was consumed but definitely will next time. Hemingway room was awesome!
Getting a room with a jacuzzi is something that was on me & my girlfriends list of things to do for 2 years. We finally splurged and this place did not disappoint! The room was spotless and the hot water unending for the jacuzzi.we went walking around the property and we’re taking pictures and a man came up and asked if we wanted our picture taken and let us know that he was the owner. He was working on a short but it was well after 7PM. He seemed so dedicated to making this place from nothing and working hard on it! The breakfast in bed was soooo good and we will definitely be back!!!!!
We would highly recommend you stay at least one night. Our only complaints were, the room was a little smaller than we expected and the coffee in the room was terrible. The coffee that came with breakfast was better and the breakfast itself was delicious. And, although smaller than we expected, it worked very well for what we wanted. Now, the HIGHLIGHT of our trip, dNile and its bartender, Kathy. Kathy was extraordinary. She was fun and engaging and energetic and let me tell you...she whips a mean cocktail. All of her mixed drinks were absolutely spot on. Try the bomb pop and give a thumbs up when you like it.Worth the two nights we stayed and multiple return visits in years to come.
My husband and I went there for our honeymoon. I specifically requested a single story room due to my back issues. Stairs are really hard for me. We got there, checked in, and went to our room. It was a two story. I went back to the front desk, they wanted us to pay the difference for a different room. Long story short, we ended up leaving to another hotel because my back was hurting to the point I couldnt do stairs at all. The pros: the bar is great. Pat, I think his name was, is a superb bartender. Try the Bellini. Its spectacular.UPDATE: The manager emailed the following Monday and told me they can offer a discount for my next stay. There wont be a next stay.
I really wanted to love it because I’ve been wanting to stay there for a while but I did not love it. To start with upon checking in I felt like the reception person could’ve been more welcoming into the facility instead of just saying “ You here to check in”. Maybe ask someone if they have stayed there before and if they haven’t offer to show them to their room and how things work or function within the room. I felt that would’ve been more more welcoming. Anyways after receiving the keys I went to the room. I had booked the Casablanca room at 198+ tax and then the additional $25 service fee was added when I check in. You’re supposed to get that back which is fine. When I walked into the room it was tiny. I realize that it’s one of their classic rooms but I was still not expecting it to be that small. So I went back to front desk and ask for a different room they showed me the Venetician room it was an improvement. I was not charged an upgrade fee which I appreciate because honestly I feel like $230 was plenty even for that to be considered one of their luxury rooms. It was bigger, the bed and the tub was separated out into different areas, we like that better and accepted that room. So let’s start with the good things the Hotel is in a little bit of a secluded area which makes it very quiet and very welcoming for couples. It also has a patio with a fire pit and there is a nice big fountain you can take pictures in front of. Within the room there is a queen bed and it fits two people perfectly fine, we slept well. The jetted tub was big enough to fit two people comfortably. We also liked the faux fireplace that was on the wall with the lights and the TV that was placed above the fireplace. However when you think of luxury you can’t forget the fine details... the room imperfections were just too noticeable, the paint chips in various areas on the wall, only one of the jets buttons worked on the tub so all of the jets did not work in the tub. The furniture just looked too worn and tattered, Even the extra comforter that we ask for was brought to us kind of just balled up it was extremely worn had strings hanging from it, The fake foliage was extremely dusty and we had to go to the front desk and ask for hand soap and for cups because neither one were already in the room. There website also says still there is a complementary breakfast but there isn’t, however they do have a breakfast menu you can order off of. I really believe with a few minor upgrades and better customer service this hotel could be a four or five-star place.
First, we were really excited to spend some time here & have a unique experience due to good reviews from family, friends, & even online. However, upon our arrival, the staff seemed less than enthused to be receiving guest. This might’ve also been because they were dealing with a difficult customer as we walked in but, we didn’t receive the customer service we expected at a “luxury“ hotel. The only members we found to have a pleasant interaction with was the lady who brought our drink coupon to our room after we checked in, the lady bartender that night & the man who brought us our breakfast. He also tried to help us check out since the desk attendent was MIA. We stood at the desk for a few minutes with no one there then I even called the front desk number & let it ring for a few minutes before the man showed up to try to help (I had questions regarding charges & he wasn’t able to do that portion). The desk attendent was very nonchalant & didn’t even bother asking us about our stay which I thought was odd but, probably couldn’t do anything with our concerns anyway.Second, we were quite surprised with it being a unique boutique hotel that it was pretty dingy. Our room itself (Egyptian Theme), the walls had plaster showing from being hit multiple times in different areas. The bed/pillows were horrific; I think even the Egyptians would’ve complained with how uncomfortable it was. The light in the tub didn’t go off nor could we locate a switch to turn it off which made it even more difficult to sleep (if it was the second button in the jetted tub, it didn’t work). The air flow into the bedroom portion was stale since the entrance way was so low to the bedroom which restricted the AC to blow in easily. I would suggest installing a ceiling fan or putting a fan in the closet area if someone would like to use it to help with air flow & cooling that side of the room; especially during the summer when it’s already hot & muggy. If you plan on being intiment with your partner, be prepared, ha.We added the anniversary package to our stay included sparkling wine which was cold but, left out on the table. Not even put on ice in the ice bucket that was right behind it (ice machine was right down the hall). When we went to get ice for it before we left for our evening out, the carpet had clearly seen better days next to the machine, reminded us of a cheap hotel where they don’t really care. We didn’t explore the hotel, just only the areas we needed to go & weren’t impressed even by that little bit.Our breakfast was lacking for the pricing (and honestly for the type of hotel). We could’ve gone across the street to the Legends & received a better breakfast for the amount that they were charging for & the quality of breakfast. In fact even most other hotels provide a complimentary breakfast buffet when you stay with them. My husband got the Baked Strada & it looked like it literally was microwaved & over cooked. Not to mention the portion size my toddler could’ve downed easily. He put his fork in & it all came out as one piece. My French Toast was literally two pieces of regular bread when French Toast in 99% of the time is made with Texas Toast. Then I also had 2 tiny slices of bacon. Before leaving this review, I did email them but, the response was it was a joke at best. Basically, they’ll take my complaint to better train their team, credited us our breakfast & asked us to give them another try.Overall, we were extremely disappointed in this place & wished we had spent our money else where that would’ve been worth the money. We won’t be going back to give them another try.
It was okay. The room we stayed in was pretty small. They didn’t have some of the necessities we needed. Breakfast was very good and it’s still a beautiful place just not what I expected.
I hate having to write this review but as we leave the hotel this morning, we can’t stop talking about how disappointed we are. The room was fine, we stayed in the Presidential. The bed was comfy. The tub is not really big enough for two people but we did enjoy it regardless. The “bar” was not what we were expecting. It didn’t feel like a bar or restaurant. It was two small rooms with bad decor. The back bar was a cluttered mess. The food was terrible! $11 for 5 toasted raviolis, they were more burnt than toasted and we’re definitely the kind you can buy for cheap in the frozen section at any grocery store. We also had a chicken salad and cracker appetizer. It was fine but really small for $12. Yes, Pat the bartender was funny and friendly, the only positive thing about the bar but I’d rather have a better atmosphere and good food than some jokes. After the bar, we tried two different vending machines for bottled water and both were empty. First, in a hotel like this that claims to be luxury, why is their not water in rooms? Even cheap bottled water would’ve worked. Second, check the vending machines. Especially on Valentine’s Day weekend when I’m sure you’re the busiest. Third, we asked the front desk for water. Their response, “We don’t have water”. They were short with us and sounded annoyed that we’d asked. They did get us a pitcher of ice water. The only thing good about breakfast was that it was brought to our room. The food was hospital food quality at best. Actually, we just had a baby and the hospital food was better. Again, the prices for this kind of food is ridiculous. There is no spa. There is a small, outdated room for massages. The massage was great, the masseuse was great. But this was not a spa, stop calling it that. Overall, we spent $718 (we had gift cards thanks to wonderful family members...we have about $132 left over and it will be wasted as we won’t be back) and feel that we could’ve had a better experience for less somewhere else.Update: Your response focused more on the water issue. My review had so much more to say. I’m even more disappointed that this is all I’m going to hear from you.
Gorgeous on the outside, small and inconvenient rooms on the inside. A lot of time and effort was put into window dressing, none into the actual rooms. In the Lincoln Room, the bed was so tall we had a hard time getting in and out of it, and we are average size people. The mattress was broken down so that we rolled into the middle. Chairs were broken down in the seats as well. Spa tub is in the bedroom which also contains the shower (not handy), with a slow motion disco light in it that we had to block with towels and pillows in order to sleep. A teeny window in the corner. No place to hang clothes. 2 outlets that were difficult to get to. Very tiny surface on bathroom vanity. And be careful not to poke your eye out on the big fake plant directly in front of the toilet! We really wanted to love this place. Having stayed in other couples rooms elsewhere, which were so well planned, this just wasnt it.
We stayed in the jungle themed room and loved it. The room was clean and the service was great! I had ordered the romantic package for our stay. We had a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us when we arrived and a note to call for our chocolate dipped strawberries when we were ready for them. Our overall experience was amazing and relaxing. Just what we needed at this hectic time of year!
I had read reviews saying that it was loud all night. That couldnt be more untrue! The lobby was quiet, the staff was amazing, and the room was incredible! The only TWO complaints i have (which are not a big deal by any means) was that i purchased an apple pie out of the vending machine & it was rock hard (not a big deal at all just made a mess) & the stairs in the New York Penthouse suite hurt your feet a little if you go down them barefoot. The stay was overall amazing and we will definitely be returning hopefully soon!
Came here with my wife to experience the castaway room. Very nice place. Front desk was very friendly on check in. Room is clean, and as advertised. Hot tub certainly big enough for two. Great proximity to the Legends, the race track and soccer stadium. Prices for in-room for very reasonable. Room is higher than a normal hotel but youre getting a great experience for the money. Very happy so far.
The Hemingway room was nice, but the setup was extremely bizzar with the tub feeling like a DIY add-on. They had some great choices for breakfast that could be delivered at a chosen time. We chose to have it delivered at 7:45am. We were awoken at 6:50am to have our cold eggs and sausage delivered. When we checked out we inquired about the breakfast delivery time at which the employee gave us an uncaring answer indicating that they do that on a routine basis. That is not normal or OK for any establishment of this caliber.
Ive always wanted to check this place out and love the idea of themed rooms. I wasnt very impressed however. For the price you pay, you arent getting very much. No mini fridge to store drinks or snacks. The king size bed had four flat standard size pillows with the window as our headboard. Our room didnt have night stand lamps which I hated. All of the lights in our room were on a master switch which didnt make sexytime very romantic. The only other light was directly above the bed, a spot light if you will with a dimmer switch. Just wasnt to my liking but to each their own. I could be more comfortable and have more amenities at a Holiday Inn for half the price.
We enjoyed the experience here but there are some improvements that could be made. First off the myan room kinda smells we figured out its coming from the tolite. It looked Clean so not sure if there is a plumbing issue or something. 2nd gripe was the room service we got the charcuterie board and it seemed to be mostly cheap items. 3rd issue was breakfast we ordered capachinos. They used powdered capachino and not nearly enough it tasted like warm water and there was still chunks in it. The food for breakfast was nothing special and could use improvements. We enjoyed are time here but it could of been better
Food was OK, but honestly a little overpriced. Room service was delivered way before requested/scheduled time, 30+ minutes both times it was ordered. Room itself was disappointing and in dire need of maintenance. For over 300/night after taxes I expect better than drywall repairs in progress, towels with holes, fire exit instructions listing the wrong room/floor, and a mattress in dire need of rotation/flipping. Tub jets were yellowed/brown, baseboards werent attached in multiple places, utility room across the hall had something in it that blared all morning the last morning of stay, and despite it being within earshot of the front desk no one did anything about it. No marker on stair in middle of suite despite fact you could only control lights via a switch near entryway and had to find the step in the dark too go top bed. Included pictures of stair with no markings, egress issue with room number compared to sign in suite for entirely different room and FLOOR of building, and drywall issue easily visible on large tub in middle of suite.
We stayed here for a night last winter and had a few problems. We got to the room we booked and it smelled strongly of sewage. We asked for a different room, which they granted, but never apologized for the first room.I had purchased one of their romantic packages where they prep the room a little bit for you, so we lost the effect of that when we switched rooms. I ended up asking for a refund on that package because later in the night when we asked for our spiked hot chocolate they said they didnt have alcohol to add to it.They did give us a refund for the package and lowered the rate of the room a bit.Overall, it was a mess and not really relaxing because of the many shortcomings.
The hotel was a fun way to celebrate our anniversary. There were a few things here and there that was why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. The room was nice, the breakfast was a bit lack luster for the price. I would never spend $40 on their breakfast again though. The rest was cool though. Id just say maybe work on some updating like the crown molding on the ceiling and the bathtub faucet. Aside from those small things it was a perfect get away! There wasnt your generic hotel room amenities which is understandable because this wasnt a typical hotel stay. There should be a themed hotel in every state. I hope you guys are able to expand the hotel and add some more rooms, maybe create an Atlantis room! That would be neat. Thank you for the great anniversary stay. Well be back. =)
Me and my husband stayed in the African Serengeti room and it was so much fun. The building is beautiful and the whole place is clean, which means a lot especially right now during Covid. There was a jacuzzi in the room which was so relaxing. We loved the bar, the drinks were amazing & not to mention half off for happy hour... needless to say it was a great night. Me and my husband will be there again!
We stayed here last year, the room was amazing. We went to the bar and Pat was absolutely amazing. His “patini” and yes I still remember a year later was awesome! We had a blast in the bar with Pat talking and learning about the bar and hotel. When we went to our show the couple we sat with told us they had stayed at the hotel as well and also remembered Pat and his “signature” drink. If we ever found ourselves that way again we would definitely stay here again. Pat truly made the experience!
So we absolutely loved our stay at Chateau Avalon! The people were wonderful, the bar has daily happy hour (4-7pm 50% off) and its tucked into the trees so you feel away from the crazy of the city. We did notice a few things were broke in our room. All display or visual things that didnt change our stay. Just something that should probably be taken care of for the price of the rooms. It was a large room and we loved the layout. We will be recommending this stay to others! Hope to be back again as well!
Stayed in the Egyptian room for our anniversary. It is definitely a couples getaway. The room felt a little smaller, but thats because the focus is the 2 person tub in the middle. The place was clean and the staff were very welcoming. They have really cool journals in the room so you can read what past visitors have written. Pats surprise drink at the bar was spot on!
We spent the weekend here after our wedding for our honeymoon and we could not have asked for a better experience! Everything was perfect, the room (Roman Dynasty), breakfast, bar, bed, bathtub, everything was amazing! I especially liked how beautifully the whole hotel was decorated, and the fountain outside in front makes this place so special! It was like we completely left Kansas City! We cannot wait to return for an adventure room soon!
Poor services. The outside of the property looks amazing and like a fairy tail however our room was poorly kept and not cleaned before we arrived. The toilet literally had a ring of mildew around the seat (which was broken) and the water line. The sink stopper did not lift up so the water was unable to drain out. They were unable to do anything about fixing the issues that was in the room. They did offer to move us to a much smaller room that was a lower rate than we paid for it and there was no price difference responded to us. I am unhappy with the service and dissatisfied.
I love the location, close to food, entertainment, and shopping. This place smells amazing when you walk in the door! The staff was friendly, I did not need them often,Thankfully, but the few interactions I had were pleasant. I stayed in a Colorado Frontier Room, the charm was 5 star! You look around the room and out the Window and you honestly forget you are in the City. So why did I not give a 5 star overall rating if I loved it so much? The bathroom. I am not sure in all the Frontier rooms have the same bathroom setup but I would assume so. I am 55 (size 4/6) my husband is 62 (34 waist) I tell you this because the bathroom door opens in, there is a about 6 inches between the door and bathroom counter, when you open the door the toilet is now behind the door so you have to stay in the bathroom to shut the door so you have to get in the very corner to shut the door to use the bathroom, this gets old after about the second trip to the bathroom. The room also did not offer (what seems like) standard amenities, coffee pot, microwave and mini fridge, I knew this going in but didnt realize how much I would miss them. But all and all I was very pleased, more than likely I will stay again.
Amazing experience. The place looks like a castle so we felt all bougie. The rooms were great. Giant jetted tub, big comfortable bed. Really quiet quaint place and really friendly staff. Close to a lot of features like the Casino, Dave and Busters, and anywhere you could possibly want to shop. Highly recommend.
To begin with, I want you to know we were happy with our suite #121,, even though I thought $317.00 was to expensive compared to other facilities. Unfortunately, .were many other issues that we were not expecting. To help management & owner(s), here is a list of issues related to our stay:Facility Issues -Grounds in front need mowed and Landscapping manicuredLarge fountain inoperable?Hallways need painted and carpet repairs by the ice machine on ground level needs to be fixed before it becomes a trip hazard that could lead to lawsuitsBack patio was very pleasant and large fan helped with the heat. Some above head string lights were not functioning.Food Service -Dinner service was very slow and breakfast was served past the 15 minute window allowance. HawaiianIzza should have rings of fresh pineapple on it, not just a few tiny chunks. Red pepper/grated Italian cheese, salt/pepper should be served with meal without having to request it……….it was not. China plates, not very small clear plastic plates, should be served with the pizza as the pizza slices are to big to fit on the tiny plates.Cindy served us at the bar patio. She was very kind and friendly, but I felt bad as I have her go back and forth over and over again to get things that should be served with the meal automatically. Her martini was FABULOUS she made me!Basaltic Chicken on Romaine lettuce was small considering the price. The chicken was very dry so we had to request extra dressing to even it it.Breakfast was expensive and only thing close to being worth the money was the eggs Benedict………but we have had better. I had very inappropriately small servings of scrambled eggs, probably not equivalent to even one egg.in volume. Only 1/4 cup of very dry breakfast potatoes were served and could not be consumed without ketchup. Two burned slices of bacon were serve, not the traditional three slices. We asked for two ice waters and was given a whole picture of water……..but not stemware or glasses to drink it with. Condiments were just thrown on the tray and should have been presented in a serving dish.Service of Staff -Front desk clerk was courteous, but failed to take a picture of my service dog.s registration card ID when I presented it at check in. Hours later when my makeup had been washed off and I had undressed to crawl into the bathtub, I was called and asked to return to the desk again with his ID card as they forgot to take a picture of it for their records………..inconvenient to say the least. To my amazement, cleaning staff were cleaning and vacuuming rooms after 9:00 PM when some guests may already trying to sleep.Even though we liked our room, everything else did NOT meet up to expectations for a $381.30 over night stay and I would not recommend this hotel to my family, friends or business associates.Disappointed,Judy
Stayed at the Chateau Avalon for a mini honeymoon before our big honeymoon in March. The hotel is tucked away in plain sight so its got a very relaxing vibe. The bar is very nice to enjoy a drink and sit on the patio. The rooms are spacious and we loved the Jacuzzi tub. The hotel even has a shuttle that will take you anywhere in the Legends. I would definitely recommend staying here for a nice weekend getaway.
Most everything about our stay was great. Easy to get to from I70, great service, clean rooms, jacuzzi tub was amazing, shuttle drivers were accommodating and friendly, and room service breakfast was quite good. The bed was comfy and overall the rooms might be smaller than other hotels, but still a good space with plenty of room for two. Also, it costs a bit extra but we highly recommend the chocolate covered strawberries.
It was a fun experience and the staff was nice. However, we ordered an extra that came with free drinks for the bar. The bar closed 2 hours early, without letting us know. When I inquired about a refund, they put $15 to be credited back to me, but only credited me $8 for some reason.
One of the most magical experiences Ive ever had. We stayed in the Castaway Isle room and the tub was to die for. My husband purchased the Deluxe Romance package and we couldnt have been happier! The staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and well equipped. 10 stars!!!!!!
Our whole experience here was wonderful. We loved the comfortable bed in the Renaissance Room, the decor, the jetted tub, the breakfast in bed, the robes, the service and the soothing massages with hot stones. All of the staff was very kind and helpful. We would love to come again sometime!
I love this place. My fiance and I come to celebrate our birthday-anniversary here. We love the bartender Pat, he makes this place a fun environment and makes it special. I gave it 4 stars because this place can use some updating. Our showerhead kept leaking and the decor is a little dated. We always stay in the Castaway Room but think all the rooms have something fun and quirky about it.
Our stay was gifted to us as a mini honeymoon, and we were booked in the Roman Dynasty room. The room is beautiful. The staff is so friendly, the bartender was awesome.. We were also booked for a couples massage: it was incredible! Back in the room, the jacuzzi tub takes a while to fill, and the jets were hit and miss. The wall was scuffed/dirty in one area. We got the Food & Mood package as well, and it was amazing, but my husband was disappointed that they were out of Baileys at the time. The house champagne is terrible. The bed is huge and so comfortable. The TV doesnt have a guide, so you just flip through channels. Breakfast was hot, but inedible. Just eat out. Overall pretty pleased, but considering this was gifted to us and we werent the ones who paid for the room, I can understand why some of the reviews arent great..
Chateau Avalon was the perfect close to home get-away for our anniversary. We had the anniversary package and it was wonderful. We both enjoyed massages in the spa which were excellent. This is a nice, quiet hotel to relax and enjoy!
The Chateau Avalon is definitely a unique place to stay, with its themed rooms and location that is close to Legends attractions but somewhat secluded. We just stayed one night in the Mayan themed room. The spa tub was very nice and the bed was comfortable with nice linens. The in-room breakfast had several nice choices. In general, the lodgings could use some updating. Our room needed a coat of paint in the bathroom area and the themed lighting required an extension cord running across the floor. The tree branches suspended from the ceiling needed to be dusted. Staff at check in were not very friendly, but staff in the morning (different people) were much more pleasant. Outside, the landscaping needs to be cleaned up, and its unfortunate that the fountain only runs at night.
We stayed here for my daughters 18th birthday this year. We stayed in the Buckingham Room and my daughter and her boyfriend stayed in the Castaway room. Both rooms were very nice. The Jacuzzi tubs were the best part of the room. Contrary to what your email says and what the website said, there is not a free breakfast. Pat, who works in the bar, was a true gentleman and very friendly. The rooms need a little repair to freshen them up, but, it really was a nice experience.
Very unique stay! We stayed in the Serengeti room for our two year anniversary. The staff had placed petals and a nice note on the bed for us when we arrived. The tub was great! Theming is very cool and the mural was so fun to look at. They will deliver room service for breakfast, it is a bit pricy in my opinion for what you get but was nice that it was offered.Went down to the dnile bar and Pat was terrific! He made my husband and I a drink based off of what he thought we would like and it was spot on! Funny guy. With lots of jokes and wisecracks!Only negatives of our stay were the lack of comfortable seating on the main floor of our room, we wished there was a more comfortable place to sit besides the bed. The other negative was we got a phone call around midnight asking if we had ordered breakfast for the next day, which wouldve been fine but we were both sleeping. Other than that the staff was very friendly and answered any questions we had.Give this place a try!
My husband and I went here for our one year wedding anniversary. We did not want to go all out for a themed room and got the standard king bed room. It is tiny. I have had bigger rooms for cheaper at a motel 8. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows are numerous and soft. The tub is nice; however, you cant rotate the TV to watch a movie in the tub. There is no way to connect to the TV and watch your own streaming channels. There is no PPV movies. The breakfast was medicore. We ordered egg bowls. They were burnt on the outside, the add in items (bacon, tomatoes, onions) were non-existent. The hot chocolate was good. The cinnamon rolls were okay but cold. The in- room robes are not soft and fluffy as advertised. They are thin and scratchy. If you want to take a shower, know that the shower head does not move. The room is nice if you. want a romantic getaway, but if you are looking for a romantic relax weekend, go somewhere else.
We had the Hemmingway room its was elegant and romantic. Spoke with Kristy (GM) and told her we were looking for a quick get away. She was super nice and gladly accommodated us. We had the romance package and it was great. My wife and I was very please they went above and beyond. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. This is not our first stay here, we always have a relaxing time. The Dnile bar is great make sure you get the bottle of bloody marys they are so good and really bring the taste of KC. Guys looking to romance your special lady, this is the place add the romance package and take all the credit. Ladies looking for a little me time this is it, a quite relaxing room for a little self care. Looking for a retail therapy the legends right across the way take the shuttle. This is such a wonderful little gem, I promise we will be back we want to stay in every room and we have been in 4 of them so far.
Staying here alone justified our trip up to KC, theres just something special about getting to your hotel after a long drive and being greeted by a very friendly and efficient front desk worker (she even offered to help take our picture in the lovely foyer stairway!) and then arriving to your room - where the bed is in a boat in a tree. The bar is also fantastic, with a lovely patio and a hilarious bartender. And the jacuzzi tub is fantastic for relaxing after a long day out. The food and drinks were fantastic, the staff seeme genuinely happy to work here, and the decor is delightful. Were looking forward to stopping in for another vacation to see a different room!
