THIS HOTEL CLOSED IN SUMMER 2023. I booked 3 rooms in spring 2023 for a pre-eclipse stay on 7 April 2024. When we arrived it was deserted and padlocked. OYO had the nerve to charge a full-price cancellation fee which has fortunately now been refunded. OYO did not appear to know the hotel was closed, since we kept receiving welcoming emails.
This is the worst possible hotel available. We worked all day to come to a room where the manager (not working at the time) accused us of being loud and smoking marijuana in the parking lot and had the front desk evict us and refused to refund our money. We were not loud, we do not smoke pot and we were literally there for 10 minutes and hadnt even been to our room yet. We did everything we could to try and explain that there must be a mistake but noone would listen. We were kicked out at a horrible time to try and find another room and we were denied our money. It felt like we were literally robbed. I was speechless. The manager was obviously drunk or high or both. He had mistaken and was too messed up to sort out the truth. The place has good potential hopefully the owners will realize what the staff is doing to sabotage the reputation of this iconic location and the future for these innocent owners. Room seemed decent for the price. Inside looked better than outside. Rooms was not properly cleaned. Hair in shower, no toilet paper in bathroom. Worse part is the clerk checked the room before I could check out because I paid a cash deposit($100). She lied and said she couldnt find the remote control. The remote I sat beside the TV before I walked out the room. I had to snap on her and the owner, but I did get my deposit back.
This place should be shut down. Rooms are disgusting! Housekeeping is nonexistent here. Theres a pool but swim at your own risk🤢. The building looks very old. Maybe its under construction, idk.As a former Housekeeper I like to inspect the room after checking in.The room I checked into: First impression was, the room was descent size. Standard amenities for a hotel room (2 queen beds)The bed: I pull the sheets back on both bed. You can see make-up on one of the pillows and hair under neither the blankets. (You can definitely tell that Housekeeping took a short cut in cleaning this room. And definitely did not change the sheets.) After pulling the fitted sheet off exposing the mattress I spotted a bedbug!The bathroom was not clean. The toilet did not get scrubbed clean. The tub was nasty. And you can see hair on the floor.I ended up getting a refund for my stay here.Prior to booking the stay thru Expedia I notice a no refund policy for this hotel but bc of the bedbugs I was able to get a full refund.I took a video but bc I am in the video 😳 I do not want to post it. I did however take a few screenshots. Also, I have a pic of the bedbug but can not find it. If I end up finding it later I will update this review.

Anyhow, I believe the manager deserves a fair and honest review, albeit a late one.***Id like to start by saying the freeze in February 2020 was a very stressful time for everyone here in Texas and the fact that this hotel was able to have guests was nothing short of a blessing for me.I booked a last minute stay here because I had been out of power for 4 days and counting.I recognized the manager (Denis) at the front desk when I walked in. (I had to book my mother a stay there about a year ago. Also, a good experience.)He immediately made me aware of the issue with frozen pipes. I had been freezing for 4 days straight, so this was not a deal breaker for me.The room was neat and warm with a large, flat screen tv with working cable. (A lot of people in Killeen also had no cable)There was a small puddle of water by the window where I assume the pipes had leaked. Someone stopped by to look at it, so it was clearly being worked on.I did have to ask for towels but shortly after, the lady brought be warm towels and sheets fresh from the dryer, it seemed.I made my bed, turned on the tv and was the happiest man in earth.The next day, I received a text informing me that my power at home had been restored. With that, I checked out early in hopes of getting a refund, but I understand that is not a guarantee. Either way, I was grateful for the hospitality in such an unexpectedly, stressful situation. It was a well needed place of solace.
I was asked for a $100 deposit upon arrival, although I booked online and there was no mention of it online. My key worked once for the room and not again, staff opened my door with a master key but never gave me another key for the room. The room was dirty, there was mens facial hair all over the sink, there was black hair all over the shower curtain (my hair is light brown/dark blonde), there was no conditioner with the shampoo, and there were no towels at all in the room. Overall unsatisfied and needs a lot of improvement.
When I arrived I wasnt able to check in or reserve a room with the RECEPTIONIST,I had to book online. I accidentally booked for the next day and when I told the receptionist to explained that I would have to modify my booking online the same way I booked it, she is not able to do ANYTHING on her end. Upon trying to modify my booking online, it makes you go through so many different hoops that after about half an hour I told her its not working. I told her I would just cancel the reservation. She said if I did that it would 7-10 business days for my money to get back into my account. I then tried to cancel my reservation MULTIPLE times, but the page would freeze after pressing the cancel button every time, almost as if it were intentional. After about an hour of sitting in an un-airconditoned lobby and tired or trying, she finally says she could possibly reach out to the OYO customer service chat herself and get the reservation canceled so that I could re-book for todays date. Mind you, this is after her telling me she wasnt able to modify or cancel any bookings on her end. She was able to cancel my reservation with customer services help which initiated my 7-10 business day refund on the previous booking and I was able to make a new one. The amount of work you have to go through just to modify or cancel a booking is insane. On top of all that they require a $100 deposit upon arrival that you retrieve at the end of the visit. This is crazy considering when I got up to the room, as Im laying in the bed a ROACH crawls by my head on the pillow!! Supposedly they underwent new management but honestly at what consolation because its still just as bad as it used to be. Also tried to use the vending machine downstairs to get a soda and it doesnt work with card. Swiped my card multiple times (did not get charged) and finally receptionist said maybe it only works with cash. 🙄 will never go back here again.
General Manager Denis was great and very accommodating. Jackie in house keeping was one point and did really good job of cleaning the room. No issues with the room or service. Reasonably priced. Around all food venues. Would stay there again.
I made a reservation for a Veteran needing housing. Within 20 minutes of reservation, the Veteran told me they were closer to the other OYO property in Killeen - I called back to switch properties. They told me I had to make a new reservation and that they would send me to their service team to assist me after I paid for the new reservation. There was no service team phone number or email. I like to write down to keep trying if it is busy etc. They sent me to their service team, a never-ending circle of recordings. I pushed every selection, which led me to more recordings. In the end, they told me I could use the chat to address any other concerns. I went to the chat - and clicked cancel, and a pop-out of a phone number came up - I called the number, and it was a recording - confirming my reservation based on my phone number. It then tells me there is no one there available, they cannot take a message and thank you for calling. It has been extremely frustrating - that it was so easy for them to take my money - but within minutes, I could not change the reservation to the other property (same amount of days).
This hotel is to be avoided by all means! The room was not clean when we checked in and the mini fridge still had leftover food from the previous guests I it and the freezer section was had so much ice buildup in it that nothing could be placed in it.The front desk personal seemed to forget their own guests because on multiple occassions, I was questioned about if I had a room there, what room number, and what was my name so they could check their system before I was allowed to go up the only working elevator to my room.They charged a $50 deposit when I checked in, which I put on my debit card. At that time, they told me it would be refunded to me upon checking out. They had no problem taking the money off my card immediately, however? when I checked out, the front desk told me it would be refunded to my card in a day or two. it has now been over 2 weeks and they are now telling me that it will take 14 business days to get my deposit refunded to me. So they get to keep more than the room rented for per night for more than two weeks.NOONE SHOULD STAY HERE! If you must then be sure to pay the deposit in cash and demand cash back when you depart.
They say free internet but when I booked a room and stayed, there was no internet. Maybe the staff are underpaid so they turn off the internet. The bathroom had no towels and I had to go to the Reception desk twice to have the towels brought to my room. Further stepping outside to smoke or anything else will have safety issues. I wont recommend.
Honestly a complete joke, I would have been better off sleeping in my vehicle or outside. The first room they put us in the A/C did not work the floors were sticky and there were fast food wrappers everywhere. Luckily they moved us. Still the room had roaches , no towels no pillows , trash all through the hallways and HORRIBLE customer service! Also the lady behind the desk drives through the parking lot like it’s a race track.
Pictures do not match the current state. Our room came with no toilet paper, then when we went down to ask for some the staff seemed rude like they didn’t want to be there. I wasn’t informed that the elevator didn’t work until I had already paid. There was trash on the stairs. Hotel also had a weird smell like musty;mold.
My stay was really nice staff was very professional my room was great yes they got hit really hard with the pandemic and then the bad storm, the price was fantastic I stayed for 12 days. And yes renovations was being done some were completed while I was their as a person that use to have a businesses it tough no I didnt face a pandemic. But I will be a blessing to them with some things as well as encouraging to keep striving for Exellance, oh the location was everything close to soo much you could walk if you wanted to
This location is in the process of updating so don’t expect too much but the value is definitely more than fair.I’ve stayed at this location 4 times so far this year. It’s conveniently centrally located, a clean place to lay my head, shower…friendly staff, manager Dennis is very hospitably accommodating…
A/C only worked in the rooms, hallways were dirty, and there looked to be blood on the shower curtain of the room me and my husband were in. Toilets barely flushed, and the screw to the chain lock on the door was just sitting in the hole in the wall.I heard from a work friend of my husband that their room was worse than ours; they asked for new sheets 3 times and each set had what looked like private hair on it.Pictures online look nothing like the actual hotel, and I’m convinced there is black mold or something in the walls along with the pockets of water above the TV because I got sick after staying there.I’m sure that there’s a chance that this can be fixed and is just a flaw with the changing management, but, until then, I will no be considering staying at any Oyo hotel any time soon.
This is the worst place Ive ever stayed at, and Ive lived in the middle of nowhere in the Sahara desert. Absolutely atrocious. Woke up with a bedbug staring right at me. Lobby smelled of smoke. Should have known when I saw the caution tape on the front door.
Really nice hotel with a large lobby and nice large rooms. Great windows displaying a view of the small city. Had to request towels from housekeeping a few times in the beginning but got better after the first day. Rooms are relatively clean. Cleaner than most motels in the area.
Did not get good vibes upon arriving. I stuck to the floor when entering my room. There was no phone in the room. My bathroom was not appealing (no towels in the room had to get from front desk), plus when my traveling companion used the bathroom she found a live bug in the light fixture. Not to mention that her room when she went to it, the door was what and someone was in it. Was told get a refund by the manager when told we were going to another hotel and have yet to receive one.
Very disappointed. Dirty rooms. I over heard housekeeping lady tell another guy couple doors down from me she wasnt cleaning his room. She stated he was too dirty with his work boots. I was even told to not walk in lobby with my boots....it was rainly something i couldnt control. I came there to relax after work with my son and i get treated like this? No wonder they have dirty rooms housekeeping gets to pick and choose what they want to do there. Staff needs to be more professional. I should have never been put in dirty room with bloody sheets and no option to change rooms...so disrespectful!!! Used to be good place to relax now terrible place.
Absolutely terrible!! Upon arrival I was told I needed a 100 dollar cash deposit plus 25 dollars for checking in early. We paid and went to our room WHICH WAS NOT CLEAN! We were moved to a different room where it’s seemed okay until you start noticing the shower head was taped on and there was no hot water and it had not been cleaned properly. As I was headed out of my room to get towel (because my room didn’t have any) I STEPPED ON A COCKROACH!!! Absolutely disgusted and I am in the process of getting a refund. It has been two weeks and no one has contacted me or gave me my money back. I will proceed to seek legal action
DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Was told it was a non-smoking room but was anything but! You could smell the smoke which they obviously tried to hide by leaving windows open. Unfortunately for them and that crazy idea, flies and other critters were now trapped in the room. And OMG, cleanliness was a joke. Hallway, bathroom, ugh! Would like to know what their definition of that really is. How do they pass city inspections? Or are there any? Anyway, when confronted with these issues, they refused to refund anything and it was paid in full for one week. Completely unreasonable, but still going to fight them on it. Dont know about the entire OYO brand, but this particular location and management are clearly little more than liars and thieves. Choosing this hotel was done because of what are now suspicious positive reviews. Always try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt, but this has turned out to be the WORST CHOICE OF HOTEL EVER. Unless you absolutely, positively have nowhere else to go and I do mean absolutely NOWHERE else to go, I repeat, DO NOT STAY HERE! DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
Upon arriving at the hotel, they told ys their credit card machine was down and that the deposit would have to be in cash. I only had money on my credit card. We were turned away and they kept our payment for the hotel room even though it was their fault we were not staying.
A hidden oasis. The staff was very accommodating and went above and beyond to serve us. It is truly unfortunate that a fine establishment like this was practically destroyed during the Texas winter storms. You can tell the owner is working hard to get the repairs done. I will definitely stay here no questions. For everything offered the price is a steal, location is ideal right by the freeway and near all the shopping centers. Please check them out.
Horrible experience. We reserved a two day stay on hotels.com. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm. This is 30min prior to closing. No one was at the front desk we waited until 11:55 and went to another hotel. They refused to provide a refund even though they failed to provide the service. Follow the other reviews and stay away.
Outside is ugly and messy, smell of smoke and cigarettes. Inside is trashy and dark, like in a drug movie. In the room, wires are sticking out of the wall, floor dirty, “clean” sheets on bed, but they had stains and hair under the pillow. The walls and the ceiling showed signs of previous water leaking. Marijuana smell on corridors and from neighboring rooms. We checked out immediately. We still payed for the first night, but they’re reimbursing us for the rest.
No! Dont stay here! Real bad start! They want $100 cash deposit, which they might give back in 5-7 business days if thay are still in operating. The cops are here trying to settle something. This looks like a haunted wreck of a dead hotel. Hope my car is OK in the morning. Hotwire.com should be embarrassed to list this thing. But at least they have a pool ;D
The rooms are spacious. Really nice. I was on the 2nd, out of 8, floors. The view was beautiful. But.... There arent any phones in any of the rooms and there were no towels and no toilet paper. The price is for one night is way too much for a room with no phone.
The online pics , do not mach the current conditions of the place. It probably was a nice place . Not anymore . The place its dirty , stinks . I stayed 2 nights , saw same trash bags, towels and sheets on hallway for 2 days in same spot . No clean towels everyday . Saw some black mold in the Lobby area.
Booked a 5 night stay for someone and let the property know that due to unforeseen circumstances they would need to check in 1 day later. Property confirmed and informed me it would me fine. Upon check in they changed and stated the reservation was cancelled due to a “No show”, required payment at an almost 2x higher rate and would not refund the original amount paid. Stay away from this dishonest company.
Walked in and was charged a $100 cash security deposit even though I prepaid with a credit card. Got to my room and had to go ask for towels. Had to switch rooms due to no hot water. To top it all off, had to listen to the couple next door fight with each other from 10-4am with no intervention by staff. Don’t do it!
Be CAREFUL. When i was checking out my Total was $153 for two nights, I checked my bank and was charged $111 per night for a Total of $204. When I tried asking they wouldnt help or the lady on the online chat wasnt willing to help me. online the charges where $69 a night and they dont have $111 rooms here. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!
Because Im forced to even give one star! Had to cancel my booking during my free cancelation time. Received confirmation email. Oyo took payment anyways and took 2 weeks to receive my refund. They kept telling me I didnt cancel during correct time period. Had proof with email confirmation. I will never try to book again!
This place is a complete ripoff. Take your money, then change the booking and have the audacity to make you wait 7-14 days for your money back!! I only came here because I was given a free $50 credit in which they refused to apply it to my account.
DENNIS! Great customer service! Room is conveniently next to H‑E‑B & Walmart. Cold AC. Nice. Big tv to watch morning cartoons with kids. Very exciting
The staff is nice ... Julian checked me in with no problem and the manager is always kind to me. The Rooms are clean and I never have an issue when I stay.
It was a excellent stay because the man behind the counter was a absolute angel. In ever turn her assisted and accommodated in the best customer service anyone can have. I I could give him 5 more stars I would. Great job Dennis
We didnt stay because the place was dirty so I spent 55 dollars for nothing. The place needs to be clean from front to back. Trash in hallways and stairs and the room was dirty also.
Just 1 thing. They WiFi is horrible... BUT Dont really have any complaint , just came to relax and that I did. Could name a few areas where the hotel is lacking but all aside I enjoyed my stay
Hotel oyoIs low rated poor service rooms look clean but when you look closer there dirty at nite I left out some cookies out in the morning I had roaches on them went to the front desk to inform them about the problem the desk handed my acan of bug spray to take care of the problem also the hall way is dimmly lite also smell like someone was smoking pot in the hallway only one night out seven days
Because I cant get my room after I paid for it. Someone put in the wrong information now i dont have my room or the money. WTH this is crazy how you book a room with my phone number off my credit card under some one else name
So far my stay has been pleasant, we aren’t in the best area but the service by the staff and the rooms make up for it. Dennis has been so helpful with my extended stay here .
Dennis got me into my room quickly without any hesitation. Very nice and friendly and the room and bathroom was super clean
It has a decent rate but I dont appreciate the cash deposit. They dont tell you about it very clearly if u book online. But they do accept pets and thats a big plus
Ive been staying at this hotel since the week of New yrs eve i must say the customer service i get from dennis is outstanding. Ive stayed in worse for more so the price definitely keeps me coming back. As long as im working in Killeen this will be my choice of stay
Look elsewhere. You have to ask for towels. Bring your own soap. It is also a coffee free zone. None to be found on premise. But they do have lots of excuses.
Although the front dest is really helpful and nice but the hotel and facilities is really dirty with bid bugs no cleaning service no elevator no housekeeping hotels smile’s really awful and no rules apply as most of guests smokes weed not recommend it al all as you will never be able to sleep due to weird things happen by night time as its 4am now and still can’t sleep from the guests around us
Couldnt get hot water in the first room. They switched my room. The next room had warm water for about 5 minutes.
The place was filthy the receptionist at the front desk was too busy talking to her boyfriend to do her job correctly the hallways had mold smelled of smoke the room was dirty the towels were filthy.
Its horrible DO NOT stay here.smells the rooms are horrible and make sure you have a handgun for its a horrible area.not safe at all.
