These Massage envy locations have oversold their services. It is nearly impossible to schedule a service less than 4+ weeks out. Their staff is clearly incompetent as they have messed up my booking twice in a row. They claim they called my cell, but I never received a call and mysteriously their number does not show up on my recents. We have been members since they opened, but my husband used his appts up and then cancelled because of the lack of availability. And now I am in the same process. I would not advise anyone to use their services. Terrible place to do business with. I a spitting mad!
Great place. The staff is amazing. Love the stretch sessions and facials. I swear by the stretch sessions. To me more beneficial than a massage for relaxation and to relive so stress.
After years of going to Turkey Creek, I recently started going to Northshore and love it. It is a little further but well worth it as it is a much nicer facility and the staff that moved there, including my therapist is awesome!I am not surprised to see the previous review without a real persons name as it is a libel suit in the making. I’ve been going to Tonya for two years for facials. BEST facials of my life. So relaxing and my skin looks terrific. Her deep massage of shoulders is truly healing.
Absolutely the WORST most unprofessional customer service. The new owners and managers of Massage Envy Northshore have no idea how to properly run a business. I wouldn’t trust them to run my niece’s lemonade stand. They treat their best employees worse than dogs and it’s no wonder they have run off 95% of their therapists and they are actively pushing out their clientele as well. They cannot run a business thinking that the client needs them more than they need the client. I was contacted ONCE, two hours before my appointment to let me know that my therapist is no longer with them. They didn’t have the common courtesy to admit their mistake in not reaching out to me considering I know for a fact that the therapist’s notice was up at least a week before the appointment. I will continue my membership with Bearden Plaza. At least they have Respect for their staff and clients.
Since the new owners took over, this branch has gone down hill. It started with small things like they no longer had the fruit infused water in the waiting area, they put paper towel dispensers and wall hanging hand soap pumps rather than the nice scented soaps, and they started having cheap one ply toilet paper. But now, most of the massage therapists have left. All my appointments have been cancelled, and they dont have openings until next year! They did reimburse my November fee, but that doesnt help me get the massage service I need. Ive been a member there for 5 years, and it is sad how negatively things have changed.
Disgusted! This location was recently bought out. Somehow they screwed up franchising stuff and canceled ALL massage appointments for a bit. Did they do ANYTHING to make up for it?? Aside from offering to reschedule (with a different therapist instead of my regular…the ONLY reason I got the membership in the first place was bc of her). Of course not. Instead they raised their monthly fee and began charging that new rate without asking or informing clients. If I wasn’t currently owed 3-4 massages (already paid for), I’d cancel my membership immediately!! Guess I need to get those scheduled asap so I can find a better way to spend my money.
Yesterday, I received a voicemail stating my massage was canceled because the branch was now closed to massages and only open to facials. No explanation, no help with rescheduling, and no offer of reimbursement of my membership fee. I can’t even get them to answer the phone. It goes straight to voicemail and then it hangs up before I can leave a message. I went from loving this facility to so absolutely disappointed. I will continue my appointments at the Turkey Creek location but only if I’m satisfied with the service. If I’m not, I will drop Massage Envy all together. It appears they are more interested in money and memberships than taking care of their customers. This situation was very poorly handled.
Unhappy with quality of service, however the staff was nice. I had a membership there, however I could never get in. Recently, the couple of times I did get scheduled with a massage therapist, I did not have the right therapist (notes on my account were not acknowledged, causing waste of session, which I was only given a half credit back) and the most recent one was canceled due to the therapist leaving. I would advise anyone who is offered the membership, to decline. Go to a different Massage Envy or different spa.
My massages at Massage Envy are always great and professional. However, today I had to cancel my massage two hours before my appointment time due to a migraine. When I called ME to cancel and reschedule I talked to Victor. Victor said there would be a $100.00 cancellation fee and he would be taking the money from my account now. I was shocked. Ive been a member of ME for many years and I didnt mind the cancellation fee, but $100 is ridiculous. The cost of the massage is $65. The ME policy states the cancellation fee is half of the service fee. I hope Victor knows that the punishment of charging me the $100 only gave me the most expensive migraine I ever had. I hope this is corrected and Victor doesnt do this to other members.
Be careful using this location. I believe they have changed out management, but previously there have been some deceitful and unethical behaviors.For example, when I put my account on hold, the manager went back after it was signed and modified the document. Fortunately, I took a picture and had proof.Recently, I scheduled a massage appointment and the schedule start time and duration was changed without notice and I didn’t know about it until I received an automated text 48 hour prior to the appointment. When I called today to cancel the changed appointment that they said there is no availability until January. I will be going to a different location in the future.
I hate to say it but I feel cheated. I had a $100 gift card to use. When I scheduled my massage, the cost was $60 for 60 minutes. When I went in for my massage, the cost for my next session was going to be almost DOUBLE - at $110.00 - unless I bought a membership for $60 a month. Then I could get future massages at the $60 rate. I explained that I would have to think about it (I dont have the money for a monthly massage at $60 every month. Thats why my son bought the gift card for my birthday). So I generously gave the masseuse a $10 gratuity and cant even afford to use the remaining $30 on my gift card - because it would cost me another $80 out of my pocket for that second appointment....So now Massage Envy got a $40 gratuity in total, I guess, for charging double for the next massage, which I cant afford... I explained to the salesperson that I live on social security ONLY and cant do a monthly payment of $60 for a massage. Her response was that, Well, we all have income issues. .So, as I said, I feel cheated out of being about to use the rest of my birthday gift at Massage Envy. Ill be sure to tell my son not to use them again. Why would they DOUBLE in cost in such a short period of time???
My family has been coming here for almost 10 years. This place used to be decent until they got a new owner/management a few month ago. Many therapists quit and its hard to get any appointment when you need. In Sept, I got a text message that they are cancelling my appointment due to their license. The message was sent less than 24 hours so why arent they paying me $100 when they charge me $100 if I cancel it less than 24 hours? Also, why are they keep taking monthly due when they cancel appt and you cant get into see anyone due to short staff ? (obviously they reopened under a grandfathered license as the owner has other ME, but they never called me to reschedule. My future appointments are canceled because my therapist quit. Instead of replacing with other therapist they just cancelled it without informing me.) Ive been on hold over 15min a few times and never got to speak to anyone or it said its closed during the biz hours. I finally went to the place in person. What surprised me is that NO ONE apologies for the inconvenience they caused. Also, they block out appoints for a new customer only. Really? It seemed that the new owner is more interested in money than taking care of customers. I love all my therapists here but if I cant see them when I need, Im going to other locations. Once my credits are gone, ill be done with ME. I found many massage place where they are more customer oriented, flexible and communicative. I have many credit hours so I tried to use it for additional service with my massage ( ie, aroma recharge or rapid tension relief) I cant use my credit for it. Its pay out of pocket only. So unless I come to see them every two weeks for a few months I wont be able to spend all my credit. I cant buy gift card to use the credit either. Also, why ME wont allow us to search available time with my therapist, see my credits, or cancel online? They make you call to cancel but then no one answers the phone, what the heck!. ME owner, dont bother to leave me a reply to contact online portal to address the issues. Ive done that before, Ive filled out surveys and request to corporate before. Nothing has improved or changed.
Angela gave me my first massage ever today. Went in with minor neck and shoulder pain and soreness. She did an excellent job and made me feel a lot better. Clean facility, professional and friendly staff up front too.
I made an appointment online several weeks before visiting this location. When I got there they told me I didnt have an appointment at 3PM. After some searching they told me it was at 4PM. I pulled up my phone and showed them the confirmation for 3PM. After that someone else from behind the counter said I called you and left a message that we pushed it back. She just happen to remember this off the tip of her head? Needless to say I never got that message. They told me I had to wait an hour for the appointment. No apology. They told me the web site was corporate and they are not responsible for it. (Talk about deflecting blame). I asked for the corporate number and the same lady said they are just going to have us call you and another young lady gave me the phone number. I went outside and called the corporate number they gave me. It was the wrong number. I looked it up on the internet and called only to be told that the manager from that location would call me. It been two weeks and I am still waiting. Service provided at their convenience.
I had a wonderful experience today. Very relaxing. My esthetician was kind, experienced, and answered all of my questions. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a membership which I thought was reasonably priced with many perks/benefits. I would definitely recommend this location to friends and family!
The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and relaxing! I rarely get the same therapist at this location.. by my choice because so far they have all been accommodating, professional, and knowledgeable. Ive been to every massage envy in the Knoxville area and this location (even though not the closest to my home) is the one I choose 99 times out of 100. Obviously I definitely recommend them!
This was my first massage experience and I must say it was worth the money. I saw Therapist John Paul and he really worked on the areas I needed most during my hour long session. I will probably book a longer session next time to be perfectly honest, as the hour felt like it was not quite enough to get all my problem areas completely sorted out. None the less, the experience was great and I will be back at some point. It was a very chill and friendly environment and I would recommend this location to anyone in the area not looking to spend an arm and a leg on a massage.
Sadly, all good things have to come to an end! My wife and I used to come every month, as this was a fantastic location, with fantastic therapists. New management is in, and now all of their top therapists are gone! If anybody knows where they went, please let me know!
I just had my massage from Andrew! He was the absolute best! Every time I said something felt good he spent more time focusing on that area. Not only was the massage great (deep tissue) he was as well. He was the sweetest guy to have a conversation with and was so informative. I’ve been considering taking my daughters for a massage because they both have back issues. They are 16 and 18. He gave me so much useful information that I will be scheduling them both a massage with him. The girls working in the front were also so helpful and friendly from the sweet girl that greeted us to the girl behind the desk that gave us such helpful information from insurance to memberships. I work in the public so I know how hard it can be. Everyone here made it seem effortless. We will be back and my boyfriend has already called dibs on Andrew!
My wife and I have been members for about a year now. Being the skeptical husband I am surprised to say that this has been an excellent investment. The services that we have received have well out weighed the expense.All the staff have a great attitude and makes visiting very pleasurable. I know for a fact that the management listens to the requests of customers as things have been updated at the suggestion of members.Their massage therapists are all knowledgeable. I am impressed and pleased by the fact that the management strives to make sure all therapists are certified in the newest techniques including hot stone massages.We suggest to all our friends that Massage Envy is worth it and I will gladly suggest to anyone looks for a massage to give Massage Envy a try.
People at front desk were great! I asked for a deep tissue massage and my therapist was more than capable of doing this for me. However, he wasnt real receptive in hitting specific areas that I would ask him to spend more time on, or if he did, he would quickly move on to other areas. It was almost like, Im going to follow what I think a massage should be instead of what I was paying him to do. He was nice enough, but if I had the option of using him again, I wouldnt.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!I feel my tension releasing the moment I walk in, with such friendly staff too. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, from a warm neck wrap to Tropical water. This establishment is top notch! I cant remember what they call the back waiting room but its cozy and dimly lit. It is a great way to transition from the hustle of life to complete relaxation. Ive been pleased with each and every visit and each and every therapist. I recommend that you tell the staff exactly what you are looking for in your massage and they will match you up perfectly! This massage envy has wonderful customer service - super relaxing environment, convenient electronic record keeping, refreshing tropical water and a very serene, relaxing waiting area. My massage therapist Andrew was kind and professional and checked in to make sure I was comfortable often. Definitely one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The assistant manager Kayla was very friendly and did a great job explaining pricing and packages without being sales-y, because I could tell she really cares about the business’s clients and their well being. I will definitely be back.
Absolutely amazing! Massage Envy- North Shore cares about your entire experience and sets high expectations for the services they provide. The inside of the spa is warm and welcoming, and I was greeted promptly with a smile and offered something to drink.I received a 90 minute massage with Genesis and I could not be more satisfied and impressed with her skills. She listened to me and communicated with me during the entire massage. She really focused on my problem areas, and I left the spa feeling ten times better than when I arrived. The stiffness and tension in my neck and shoulders was gone, and the pain in my upper back had subsided. I was completely relaxed.I would recommend Massage Envy to anyone, and I highly suggest requesting Genesis as your therapist, especially if you suffer from any type of back pain. Her skills really are top notch and more advanced than other therapists I have seen. I truly believe that her communication skills made all the difference. Having a therapist that actually listens to your concerns is invaluable.
My husband has been a massage therapist for over 6 years and in that time he has worked at a few different Massage Envy locations and none of them compare to this location as far as how they treat their employees! He has been at the Northshore location for a year now and they go above and beyond to make sure their employees are taken care of and feel as though they matter! I cant say enough good things about the owner and manager of this location!
The service is wonderful. Justin and Genesis are my fave massage therapists! The front desk people are always great too. Their waiting room has heated neck rolls, flavored water, dim lights, and soothing music. This is way cheaper than a psychiatrist.
I don’t normally feel the need to leave a review, but today I do. I’ve had neck and throat pain for the past 5 months after a bout of stomach flu. My ENT had my tonsils removed, which helped the throat pain but not the neck pain. It was suggested by my mother that I try massage therapy. I went earlier today and saw Caitlin. Not only did she listen to my needs, she also worked on the problem areas and listened when I was in pain. She was very sweet and was able to tell me where my problems were originating from in my neck.Instead of saying she wanted me to only see her, she recommended 2 other people in the office if she wasn’t available when I come back in a few weeks. If they are all as considerate as Caitlin was, I know I will be in good hands.In one session, I can already tell a difference. Still very tender and sore but not as bad. Hopefully it will continue to get better given time. I will definitely be back.
I couldnt feel happier with the choice I made with this location! I have to agree with other when they say you are cared for the moment you walk in the door we arent lying. I do enjoy going to massage envy. I only use the one on north shore. 95% of the time the service is outstanding. Everyone had a bad day here and there. The front desk is great and the most of the therapists are wonderful.

I love the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The massage therapist listened to where I needed massaged the most and applied the right amount of pressure to those areas.
I am a regular here (full disclosure) but I am so happy with their service, that I still feel compelled to write a review.Always, the Front Desk staff are super friendly, helpful, always asks how I am doing, provides regular or flavored-water, provides warm neck wraps prior to my massage and sets the tone for a great experience.My massage therapists have all been either good or excellent. For those who did not enjoy their experience, I would recommend they go back and try a different therapist. Often times, a mis-match between customer and therapist based on type of massage or intensity is what lends to a poor experience, whereas an excellent matchup tends to have the best results.Marissa (sp?) and Trinity (my normal LMT) have been my LMTs recently. Both were excellent! Both listened to me whenever I had specific problem areas and both addressed them. I would highly recommend both to anyone. They are slightly different in their techniques, but that is okay, because they are both thorough and professional and attentive to any problems.All in all, I have been to several ME franchise locations around the US and ME Northshore is by far the best I have been to. I will continue going back as long as I live in Knoxville!

Massage Envy does the best massages. Ive been to a few other places around town but Im always the most pleased when I leave any Message Envy location in Knoxville. Just pull the trigger and sign up for the membership, you wont regret it.
Everything about this clinic is outstanding! From the amazing customer service and friendly faces to the incredibly skilled staff and cozy atmosphere, every visit to Northshore has been nothing short of exceptional! I highly recommend this location! There is no wonder why they have won so many awards!
Very nice massage. If I return Ill be sure to ask the masseuse to concentrate longer on my trouble spots. Even though I was specific about them, she kind of skipped over the areas that needed the most attention.
Massages are pretty good, but also expensive.$60 a month membership for one 1hr massage a month vs I think $80 per 1hr for non-members.
In my opinion, better location than others in this area. Better Parking and wider range of therapies. However, it appears to me that there is a lower level of experience but that might be based on my experience.
I have never had a bad experience and they have always been helpful as far as scheduling and recommending massage therapists.
I have never been here I was actually thinking about treating myself to a spa date and was comparing prices so the reason I gave 3 stars is this the company is because the prices are reasonable
