I was invited to Juliana for my Instagram food blog (@catrinoms) and had a fantastic experience! This restaurant is so beautiful and every dish is so creative and gorgeous. My favorite was the blueberry steak — such a surprising combination and so delicious! Definitely recommend this spot for date night or hanging out with friends. The vibes are on point!
Went here for brunch and we were the only ones inside at 11AM on a Sunday. Three or four more groups showed up by the time we left around 1. Not yet a popular brunch spot. But their food was good!We got the candied bacon Benedict, the abalone risotto, and an Americano. The risotto tasted really good, and the Benedict was good too. Friends got the gnocchi, and the smoked salmon Benedict, which they liked as well.Portion sizes felt pretty small though, especially for brunch. And the service could be better. The server was friendly, but wasnt very good at checking in (water refills, etc). Also they have a bunch of round 2 person high-tables, so wasnt great with a baby or for sharing food if youre in a group. The ambiance was great - looked posh, especially the bar, and even the bathroom.
I was so pleasantly surprised the food here is so good!! 🤤🤤 and it’s actually not to expensive considering the portions you get. They also validate parking but you have to go in from the correct parking lot ! (Not the one across from Sun nong dan) anyways, I def recommend this spot for a fun night out with friends 👌☺️ follow @itsvserenity for more honest reviews!
Love the atmosphere here! Its one of the nicer lounges in ktown. Came here with two friends and we got the porketa, meatballs, burrata bolognese spaghetti, and blueberry steak. The staff was very friendly and one of the bartenders made really pretty drinks. We parked in the garage and it was only $5. Def need to come back during the weekends for the DJ!
My sister and I were in LA and wanted to grab some brunch together so we decided to give Juliana a try. Parking was super easy (and free) inside H-mart. The second we walked in, we looooved the chic/sophisticated vibes. We started off sharing some mocktails and fresh OJ. I got the Pink is the New Black drink and it was so fun and fruity tasting. For food, we got their Dutch Baby pancakes - WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We literally devoured the whole thing in minutes! I decided to try the kimchi fried rice since I was craving something savory. Soooo flavorful and filling with the mentaiko and kimchi mixed in. I also really enjoyed their carbonara gnocci which was very creamy and rich.We also noticed the pot rice (aka SOT) on the menu which is very trendy in Korea right now so we ordered that as well. However, I thought this dish was mid and was missing some flavor. Definitely not as great as the other dishes we tried.Overall, super impressed with the food and ambiance. Brunch here was pricier than your usual Ktown spots but worth it for a special treat. This is definitely going to be my new go-to for when I want to feel like an IT girl on a boujee brunch date. Cant wait to come back!
I was just there this Saturday, 7/22/23 with couple of friends. Got there around 4:30 pm and ordered a drink since kitchen opens at 5 pm (kitchen break from 3 - 5 pm). Later we ordered, stuffed mushrooms, fried brussels sprouts, and truffle gnocchi. Of the three, our favorite was fried brussels sprouts. I would recommend this over stuffed mushrooms. Mushrooms were small. Gnocci was okay since I thought the cream was a little salty for me. I will have to come back to try other dishes. Service and ambiance were all great. We didnt stay long enough to enjoy the night atmosphere, but Im sure it wouldve been better than the daytime atmosphere with indoor lighting.
We dined in not knowing what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance, the customer service and the food were great! We ordered the ceviche (not a big portion but it was enough for two people), the lobster risotto and seafood pasta. Highly recommend. The pasta sauce is delicious! Can’t wait to return and try other items.
Honestly just go for the drinks & ambiance !The food is over priced , very small servings and taste not so good. Service was very very slow. Restaurant had barley anyone in it .I gotten the lamb chop, porketta & scallops. I rate them all 2/10, was very disappointing. Scallops just tasted like they put spaghetti sauce on it and that’s it . The porketta tasted like Vienna sausages !Again just go for the drinks ! They are very yummy .
My family and I made a brunch reservation for 11am, but when we got to the restaurant a few minutes before, the restaurant was closed understandably. We waited until 11:06 and the restaurant was still closed. I even tried calling the restaurant twice but no one answered. We ended up leaving. Just want to point out that the prices are absurd as well. A single cup of juice costs $8.
It was a blast time in here. food was great, vibe was on point, service was very nice. honestly I didnt expect their food that good since the picture of their foods and interior looks too good to be true on the picture ( Im kind of picky person, dont trust anything until i see it in person) but my experience was amazing in here. best of best. will go back soon !!
Today’s my birthday and taking myself to brunch here was definitely top of my list. This place is an absolute vibe. The decor is stunning, and the food is even better. I tried their Dutch baby, French toast, hamburger steak and their steak slot rice and everything was so flavorful. At first glance, the portions looked small but once consumed it’s more than filling 🤤.Also, It was my first time trying Dutch baby and it was so good. My favorite was the French toast, the hamburger steak, the slot rice and the Dutch baby 🤤
My husband and I visited Juliana for a dinner date and we loved the ambiance and food! The decor is beautiful and modern, and the menu is a unique mix of tapas and mains with Asian and Italian influences. We ordered the Blueberry Tenderloin Steak and the Burrata Bolognese Spaghetti and I highly recommend both! A fun spot for a date night or a dinner out with friends.
If you want decent service, sit at the bar. Table service is mediocre at best. The food is hit or miss. The lobster risotto was delicious. We tried a few tapas over the past times we have dined and they are either really good or really bad. Table service was awful. Although the servers were pleasant, they did not know hospitality or customer service at all. We were told to have a seat anywhere. When we finally sat, it took a while to receive menus that were so crumpled from being wet, used, and dirty, I didn’t want to touch them. I would have preferred a QR code. After being offered regular water, we ordered a large sparkling water. We were then greeted by another server (confusing), and let him know we had already placed an order for sparkling water. It was dropped off hastily by the second server and he zoomed away. The water was a bottle top that needed to be opened by a bottle or wine opener. We figured we would wait until the server returned to take our order to inform them of the bottle, but that never happened so we flagged down the first server, let her know that we couldn’t open the water and that we wanted to order. She apologized and sent over the second server. At this point we have no idea who our actual server is. We had to flag them down each time we wanted to place an order. We would have ordered more food but it just became too much work for us. The original server was hanging out at the bar and the restaurant was NOT busy. We waited patiently for someone to return so we could ask for the check. The second server sat a new table next to us, and did not check back. He walked away so fast that we couldn’t get his attention for the check. We then saw the first server and she started to walk toward us. As I am about to request the check she walks past us to the new table that was sat. We got her attention over 10 minutes later and asked for the check. We spoke up about the service and let her know we were confused as to who our server was and felt grossly neglected at the tables and her response was “that’s just the vibe here.” That was NOT the vibe when we sat at the bar. We MIGHT be returning because we live walking distance from the restaurant, but if so, we will definitely sit at the bar since the bartenders have more customer service skills than the wait staff.
My two friends and I drove an hour to come to this restaurant on valentines night. We had reservations at 9PM and we’re told to sit in the lounging area (which was not disclosed in the reservation). We placed our order within 10 minutes of being sat. Waited about an hour, and our food never came out. We asked our server what was the ETA On our food after our friend had canceled his order because we waited for so long already. She told us “ They honestly don’t know when the food will be ready.” This is unfortunate, because we all had high expectations and didn’t eat all day due to wanting to experience the food here for the first time and had no communication from the kitchen to our server Gabby that our food was taking longer then normal. I don’t think I’m gonna be coming back ever again to waste my time like i did last night. We didn’t even get our check offered to be comped for waiting so long so we paid for a soda a glass of wine that my friend didn’t even touch and fries. Our whole night was gone to waste and we drove back home a whole hour with empty stomachs and got in n out. :(don’t waste your time coming to this establishment.
Trendy atmosphere. Went on a Saturday evening so it was poppin but the DJ was WAY too loud. Food was mid at best, almost everything needed salt. Giving a generous 4 stars but was definitely a one time try for me.
Overall a terrible experience. Decor is modern and mood is set by some fantastic, trippy retro lighting, but the service was mediocre and the food was flat-out awful. Kimchi arancini and Caesar salad were very good, but the remainder of the dishes we ordered, we could not finish. The lamb was gamey, slimy and tasted like it was on the verge of going bad. Scallop, shrimp and octopus came out overcooked and tough, and the shrimp was freezer burned. Stuffed mushrooms were old, they tasted stale and were wrinkled. We ordered two steaks cooked the same way; both came out different, the meat wasnt great and the one cut had too much fat. Im convinced the mashed potatoes were boxed. The food was all presentation and presentation only; the taste and ingredients were all lacking. Our waiter was friendly and had recommendations, but a good waiter wouldve noticed we left without touching most of our dishes and asked why or offered to do something about it. Bar service was great, drinks were unique and came out quickly. For being a recent addition to the neighborhood, the utensils looked like hand-me-downs from the old Korean steakhouse that was at this location. Entirely too expensive for the quality.
Juliana is the perfect spot for brunch of late night with the girls! It has an upscale vibe with the modern decor and spacious interior. They have a separate menu for handcrafted cocktails, dinner items, and brunch specialties. I highly recommend the Dutch pancakes and the carbonara gnocchi!Another big plus is free validated parking in the parking structure, a rarity in Ktown.Ill definitely come back for dinner to try their pasta! thank you Juliana for the amazing experience!
Juliana is super spacious and light and the staff was welcoming. They were also cool with our party of 6 showing up at different times.Sterling, our server was stellar and super friendly.Although it seems as if they have a few kinks to work out here and there (y’all, get at least one fake milk on the menu for coffee), the food was tasty as was the truffle honey latte. We had salads, the omelette, which comes with a lot of sides, and Dutch babies. Thanks for letting us hang out so long, too!
I came here for dinner and the place is really cute! The brunch seems a lot better and they have music as well sometimes for both. The food was really good but the portions are a little small. The drinks are good and strong!
Love the food here. Drinks are great and staff is awesome! Best looking servers and bartenders in LA. Everyone is cool but Sterling is the best. Friendly, funny, and willing to listen to your horrific date stories. Come check it out!
Overall:Management still working out kinks with previous owner but moving in a positive direction.Cocktails:I ordered two cocktails. The cocktails were wellmade and the staff was truely passionate about their work. Even when ordering more obscure drinks the staff did quite well. Room for improvement on liquirs available and bar setup. Counter lengh was cumbersome for bartenders.Food:The food left a little lacking. Lots of the same garnish on different dishes. Oyster had all the oyster liquor removed so they were bland. Beef tartare was redeeming with home made mustard and pickled ren onion garnish.Atmosphere:The decore seemed to be the first thought here but wasnt super practical. Lots of mis matching textures and stlye choices only bound by color palette. The idea is solid but the implementation when it came to plates, coasters, wall art, installations and tables left room on implementation. It came off as most decisions were made on appearance without consideration of how the items would work in the real world. The concept of a higher tier restaurant is close but they need to drop the cheap items to really make the leap.
Great tapas menu with a lot of options. Drink menu is weird and should be one page instead of a packet. Got the expresso Martini which came in a tiny glass, could have been a bit larger. The food was delicious. They have a chicken Marsala gratin that should be called chicken parm. Truffle gnocchi was my favorite. Service was amazing! You can order from anyone and someone’s always walking around. Tapas prices are very reasonable so you can get a lot of things.
I’m convinced the owner pays for positive reviews. The food is much worse than EMC, the place fancies itself as a cocktail lounge but I assure you the “mixologists” have no clue what they’re doing on top of the fact they sample a bit too much of their own product. My drink came out nothing as it was described and when I went to send it back I was scoffed at. Hopefully this place shuts down soon.
It’s really not a fine place to have dinner, maybe I came for a wrong time. I booked ahead of time for a single meal, the time around open when I arrived. Minimum dinner food could order, just a cocktail. And specifically the cellular in restaurant was reaaaally poor, I searched for Wi-Fi in there and I saw the name of Juliana, the waiter told me there was no Wi-Fi. So that I just seated until food came, this maybe the fastest meal I had.
Love this brand new upscale bar and restaurant in koreatown LA. Elegant interior and modern style bar.Try watermelon cocktail. Unfortunately I visited late night I couldn’t order food but definitely I will try next time when I visit again!
Nick and Alex behind the bar are amazing hosts and make killer cocktails. Highly recommend the flash cocktail!
Sterling was amazing! The experience was great and so was his customer service. The food was great, will definitely return to try the dinner menu since we came for brunch
Newly opened in tribute to the seminal early 21st century emo band The Juliana Theory, this steamy brunch emporium is the perfect place for a midnight business meeting or power elevensies. The staff are exceedingly friendly, having been trained on Pavlovian techniques, and both soups and cocktails are separately superior. Do not mix.I recommend Juliana, not just as a daily restaurant, but as a perfect spot to make a stand against the encroaching apocalypse. Salud!
We went to try this restaurant because we saw it in dine LA but we got disappointed. The service is amazing, the place is ok but the food its not that great. We found it kind of pricey for what you really get , we had 3 diferent dishes and none of those was delicious and the dessert neither.
Had a wonderful brunch with the family - food was delicious and the service was excellent, special shout out to Sterling who was true to the meaning of that name
This was one of the worst meals I’ve had in Los Angeles. I would absolutely never eat here again.
