Brackins Blues Club

First impressions are everything. New in town, I was looking for live music on a Saturday night. I grabbed a table, not knowing how things worked there. For 45 minutes I sat there and no one approached me. Was I supposed to just go to the bar to order a drink and food? Finally, someone approached me. I ordered a drink and food. The wings were horrible! They were dry with very little flavor. They advertised as a Blue Club, but although the band was good, it was not Blues. Highly disappointed. First impressions are everything. I wont be returning.

Does this dive bar deliver? Yes, it does. The food is top-notch, the service has yet to deliver with the friendliest town folk you can imagine. They have the best burgers, large wings and crazy good okra. Everyone is so pleasant that you do not want to leave. Thank you, I will be returning to try all the food, if I can keep up with all the superb specials i would stop coming but i will be back as should you.

Its my favorite place in all of Maryville.Staff is awesome, No smoking inside, but back patio area you can. Corn hole and pool table for activities. Usually always live music on the weekends sometimes in the week. Half the Price for shots compared to the place down the side walk.

Literally my favorite bar ever. Every bartender brings their own unique personalities to life and delivers the best experience you can ask for. Best atmosphere and service you could ask for.

Really enjoyed my experience here. 3 bar tenders, very friendly and great service. Food is available. Seating inside was full most of the time, but they have an outside patio area, which is very nice. The night I was here they had live music. The band was Andrew Scotchie and the River Rats, love them!!! All in all I had fun and will return.

I have to laugh about some of the 1 star reviews. its a bar, not a restaurant. They have bartenders, not servers. Dont expect a restaurant experience when going to a bar.Anywho, Brackins never fails to disappoint. I go twice a week, every week, and have been for about 8 months. The bartenders are nice, the place is very clean for a bar, and the atmosphere is top notch. Combine that with the live music most nights, and weekends, you got a 5 star place to hang out at.

Cool and clean bar in Maryville!!!The door lady was super and the inside crowd was great. Went on Thursday night, which is college night, and it was a great atmosphere.Honestly it was clean and there was not a person smoking, way better than the place down the sidewalk!!!Well be back here next time we go out in Maryville.

Im from out of town, saw everyones posts about this place so thought Id try it out and its been by far the worst. Ive been sitting here for 15 minutes now and not a single person has come up to me. Theres only 3 people at the bar and Im the only one sitting here. I cant even try the food or anything.I know they are me because Ive looked at the servers and everything. Horrible service. Completely rude. Will not recommend at all.

Fun little spot! Non-smoking inside, with pool tables. Covered back patio has tables and is smoker friendly. Live music was great.

This review is a little late but want to share our experience that was similar to a couple of low star count reviews. We wanted to like this place and support a local business unfortunately it ended up being one and done. We walked in and sat at a table. The place had a couple of people at the bar. Our intention was to get a small bite to eat and have a couple of beers. We sat there for more than 20 minutes and no one acknowledged our presence, ask for a drink order or offered a munu. The bartender just chatted up the two people at the bar. Not sure what the deal is. It wasnt crowded with overwhelmed staff they just didnt seem to care if we stayed or had a desire to have a drink. Very strange experience that we will not repeat.we walked from there to Tri Hop and had a beer. We were acknowledged and served right away.

Great food and great music. Usually a very friendly place, its not uncommon for strangers to just sit down and have a conversation with me, it really is more of a social club, but in a good way

Be careful there are male employees that use the women’s bathroom and justify it because they work here and do what they want. Then go back in the kitchen before washing their hands. 🤢

Awesome bar! They have great food, good drinks, and cheap specials! They have live music several nights a week and a very nice outdoor patio area if you are in the mood for a quieter evening! They also have a pool table and on particular nights they have tap takeovers complete with give aways! If you go in make sure to ask for Alyssa to take care of you she is awesome!

Went here for late bite(10:50pm). The parking was horrible first of all. My boyfriend n I had to push our way through a crowd of very intoxicated people smoking on the back deck. Once we got inside, it was worse. We tried to get the attention of bartender(no luck). We tried to find SOMEONE that worked there to order some drinks or some food from( no luck there either) after 20 min we gave up n left. Ill never go back.

They have a real big selection of good craft beer as well as domestic bottled brands. We had a calzone and shared it between the two of us. I was totally full. It has a really nice atmosphere and the wait staff are great.

I’m from out of town, about an hour away, I’ve heard pretty good things about this hole in the wall bar but I was not impressed when I got here. My friend and I were planning to meet our other friend who was foreign he attends the local college, and they kicked him out because he didn’t speak good English. The bartender told us that herself. My friend and I proceeded to order drinks, she ordered a draft beer, I ordered my usual, a margarita. My friend pays and a different bartender who took her order, looked at her and said “if you don’t tip me you’re not getting another drink” oh sorry aren’t tips based off of your service? Which isn’t that great right now, considering you’re just being impatient at the fact my friend is just trying to get her cash together to even tip you in the first place. My horrible tasting margarita in a tiny shot glass was $5.50. Whereas at my bar at home I get a tall margarita for the same price. Long story short horrible service horrible prices. If I wanted to be treated with disrespect with a price I would have gone to Dicks Last Resort!! We left and went to the bar next door which is AWESOME.

I am a delivery driver with Uber. We have our own corporate cards where we can go to any restaurant and order food for our customers. Even if the restaurant is not contracted with them. After I had already paid for my customers food with my corporate card. When we use these cards we are practically regular customers. The bartender told me she would not give me the food. IT WAS ALREADY PAID FOR. She was extremely rude and embarrassed me in front of all the customers there, who where staring at me. I will not go here again, even as a customer myself. Terrible customer service!!

If you are not local don’t go. The bartenders are rude and won’t wait on you. One bartender. Who has two degrees, mind you, intimidated my husband and me to the point we left. We didn’t even eat our food. He confronted me because he said I was rude. I wanted waited on, in a restaurant!! How awful of me! I should wait for both bartenders to finish their cigarettes before waiting on customers. He kept coming back to our table and harassing us. I don’t know how an establishment like this hole in the wall allows their employees to treat, not only customers, but people in general in a harassing fashion.

I actually have not been here yet but after reading the gross review of Matthew below, I decided to give it 5 stars. Calling the bartender “chunky” and getting mad because she was doing her job is disgusting and childlike.I’m looking forward to dropping by soon. I’ve heard great things!

The bartender was FAR from courteous. We (my group) had LITERALLY completed a wedding ceremony in the park (approximately 1pm) and drove to Brackins for a celebratory drink to toast the occasion, as we were ALL local (been patronizing for 10+ yrs) familiars. A member of our party was approximately 2yrs of age and upon entry (0 signage indicating we could not), the bartender said, get your child out of here NOW, or words to that affect. No friendly communication, no consideration, no customer service, no sympathy/empathy, no consideration, no questions just, get your child off of my property. Upon entry, EVERYONE in the party was happy, sober, and only seeking to celebrate the moment. The chunky bartender, however, apparently made it her mission to ruin the moment. Additionally, Brackins has a lunch menu and on several different occasions under similar circumstances I have personally witnessed families patronize this establishment. But this bartender was FAR from courteous and/or professional. She was, by definition, rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. To the bartender, for me, you have ruined your establishments ambiance. I will never darken your doorway again.......

If you like dive bars, this is perfect! Great music and great atmosphere!

My favorite local hangout - Alyssa, Katie, and Tim are hardworking bartenders and they seem to work really well together. The music is great and Brackins overall has a fun atmosphere for folks who want to let loose... just don’t get on the board! :)

Honestly... Ive been going to brackins for more than a decade.. So I probably should have given a review before my experience the other night because up until then it would have been a five star.. However, the night of st. Patricks day, I showed up after working all day, wanted to have a beer with my friends and relax. The atmosphere was great as always... All except the Bartender / manager... KRISTINE. She was incredibly disrespectful and treated me as if I was some belligerent drunk when that couldnt have been further from the truth.. She yelled at me in front of patrons and my friends.. I tipped her $20 anyways hoping that would maybe calm her down but she continued to treat me with disrespect throughout the night. I honestly dont know that I will ever be back. My experience was that uncomfortable,

Stopped in for a beer after work. Bartender was rude as soon as we sat down. Limited draft selection and really made a long day worse. In short the staff sucks and bar is limited, dont waste your time.

People were real friendly and they were plenty of bar games there along with great music and a beautiful outside patio most of which is covered with easy access to parking behind the building as well as Municipal parking about half a block from there. They have a great Wednesday night open mic and one of the things I like is the fact that they have their own sound equipment and a few instruments there. Youre sure to have a good time going to Brackins :-)

I must apologize to the owners, managers, cooks, bartenders, wait staff, and anyone else that works at Brackins Blues Club that may have been affected by my previous post,( Shrimp and Grits = too salty Shrimp = undercooked. Italian sandwich = just BAD! A stack of dead animals with cheese melted atop = Yuke!No plans to visit again! Happy dining everyone )as I was NOT in-fact eating at Brackins Blues Club! Unbeknownst to me, I was actually eating at the Bluetick Tavern. You see... My boyfriend and I had discussed, and decided, to eat at Brackins for dinner. But apparently, he didnt get the memo ;) He had his own plans. Ugghhhh... Entrusting the evenings dinner arrangements to my boyfriend, I payed little to no attention to my surroundings. He parked the truck and lead me into the side door of a building, of which I believed to be the Brackins Blues Club. It was NOT! It was the Bluetick Tavern. The review that I wrote, and have sited above, belongs to the Bluetick Tavern, NOT Brackins Blues Club!!!Again... I sincerely, and humbly, apologize to all those of Brackins Blues Club. I havent had the privilege of eating at the establishment, but Im sure that each and every crumble of food that comes from your kitchen is an absolute delight that dances with decadence across every waiting tongue.Stay Blessed My FriendsandHappy Eatin, yallDD

John is the man! Coolest, fastest, nicest bar keep I’ve had the pleasure of being served by, every time I’m in he’s got t the best attitude and happy to serve. Between the cool jazz, cold drinks, and hot food menu it’s easy to say; I’ll be back!

It was an ok place to have a few beers with friends. The band wasnt very good on the night I was there. The outdoor seating was nice but it was hard to avoid the 2nd hand smoke. The 1 stall bathroom created quite a long line.

The food is terrific and reasonably priced. The staff always seems to go the extra mile to take care of the customers. Ive been going there for years and they have never had anything but the best bands around! Thanks guys for keeping up a great traditional watering hole :)

It was crowded, and I felt out of place. Last time I was here (many moons ago) there was an older crowd and I felt out of place as a younger guy. Tonight it was opposite. Since I didnt have a college ID and my student loans are paid off I was definitely in the older tier of customers. After my double bourbon was gone I exited as fast as possible. Im not sure how those people were playing pool with so many people around. Its a wonder there were no fights due to pool stick to the buttocks or groin incidences. Side note: there was live music, and it was good.

Small business. Good drinks. I went on acoustic night and enjoyed my night. Bartender was very nice! Only has one pool table which was in use the whole time I was there.

Drinks at a reasonable price, billards, beer pong, corn hole, an arcade machine, and bar food are available. The back deck is phenomenal for smokers or people who dont care for loud live music. One of the only bars in town you dont have to worry about getting in a fight at. The staff are friendly and remember you most of the time. It can get very busy [2 or 3 people deep] on the weekends so expect a wait for a drink. Some of the best cheese sticks Ive had anywhere.

Worst service ever. So sorry we stopped by to visit. Waited 15 min and never even got acknowledged. Either staff correctly or teach the bartenders need to recognize those waiting longer than their friends. Very disappointing staff.

Chubby bearded waiter told us that just because he works there doesnt mean he knows the kitchen hours. Was very annoyed that we asked for a menu. Called someone in our party a motherf***er when he brought his cheese sticks and when another friend asked if he could get another beer he said ,maybe and walked away. He had the worst attitude Ive ever seen in the service industry. On his third appearance my friend got his beer but the attitude continued. My friend asked him if he had a problem with everyone at the table and the server replied, no just you. I told him what I thought of his attitude and he said he had been just fine and he didnt understand what our problem was but that we didnt have to stay. He refused to believe that I didnt have a tab and insisted that I pay it before we leave (because at this point he was kicking us out after we had already paid and hadnt gotten our food yet). He brought a manager out who had nothing to say because Im pretty sure she was just another dumbstruck bartender and he tried telling her that my friend he had a problem with had thrown a chair at him. He only kicked out my one friend but I left with him ans the rest stayed and waited for what they had paid for and left as soon as they were done.

Best place to eat drink and meet your friends and family at. Great service and very well managed. General Manger is one of the best at her job.I give it 10 stars if I could.

For a little hometown music venue you cant beat Brackins. The servers are friendly and accommodating. They book lots of excellent musicians and bands. Good place to go hang out with friends, listen to music, play pool, and have a couple of drinks. Have made many good memories at Brackins.

Not pretentious, not sleazy, the perfect comfortable neighborhood bar. Great music, good draft beer picks, and a startlingly extensive bourbon selection.And one of the few good patios in Maryville.

I love Brackins. I no longer live in Maryville but pop in whenever Im in town. Great selection of beers on tap that rotate regularly. The food is fantastic pub fare, and would highly recommend the BBB King burger! Live music regularly and there is just simply no better place in the area to see live blues. Service is excellent as well and this is definitely the best bar in Maryville

Really cool dove bar on the main drag of Maryville. Has bar games great bartenders and that perfect lighting to enjoy drinks anytime of the day. Perfect low key spot to hide from work and just chill.

Beer wasnt cold. Food was OK nothing to write home about. I guess you have to sit at the bar to get the outstanding service. Was there for an hour, need to change their name from blues to rock. Never heard one blues song oh well its Maryville and they are trying.

Service was not good, stood at bar for 15mins to get a drink. Bartenders look miserable. Also If youre at tables no one comes to wait on you. We will never come back. Not to mention it is so dark in the bar.

It was not what I expected. It was very small and not very clean at all. It was very run down and not well kept. I wanted to find a place to take my Mother to go see some blues, but I would never bring her there. Still on the search for a classy place!

Went there for a work Xmas party,what a buzz kill , they didnt even set aside enough room towards capacity to get our people in. What a bad business practice. Never will I spend another dollar there.

I always have a great experience here and love the drinks, food and music. The bartender always tells me YOU AINT GOT NO FRANDS and I keep telling him I will get some, but he doesnt believe me. :/

Great place to watch live music that isnt jeff joplin. Cramped when its busy and no smoking inside, But its alot calmer than 2doors. Less options for food but the quality is WAY better Brackins tends to attract old folks/stoners, not the place to go if your looking to party.

Best bar in Maryville.

Went to Brackins yesterday for the first time, had a great time. Very laid back, even the regulars treated us like wed been there a hundred times, oh, and the $2 mixed drinks at happy hour cannot be beat!!!

The bar tender was very friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. Will definitely be going back to try some more of their cocktails

Simply the best place for newcomers and longtime locals alike. And the long runnin Wednesday night Blues Jam where Stan Gibert has been co-hosting and laying down bass since 2010 is a favorite event for local & regional performers.

Used to be a great place, now its just so so! They dont have the awesome music lineup like they used to have, with national acts weekly, often multiple times throughout the week, but not anymore!

A cozy bar with a great back patio and bands in front. The people are real and its got one of the best bar kitchens for a place its size Ive ever seen.
