Ive been going to this location for a couple years now. I shopped around other Massage Envys until finally landing on this location. Here, I consistently get a welcoming and calming experience at this location. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager there (Shena?) is super nice and engaging. Ive been seeing the same massage therapist there, Brian, for a while. Exactly the technique and pressure I am looking for, which can be hard to find.
This is by far our favorite Massage Envy. This is the only location I can call and someone always answers the phone. The manager Sheena is always so pleasant and speaks highly of her employees. She also comes out and greet us and always is interested on how our day is going. Brian our massage therapist is always amazing and accommodating. My husband loves this place as well and he is very hard to pleased. Lol. Thanks for all you do!
I definitely would not recommend this location or Franchise in general, and definitely not the membership service theyre offering. Run, dont walk. I had a horrible experience with the membership and being able to use points that I already paid for. They will try to convince you that you would be saving by signing up for the membership, but what they dont tell you is to expect a nightmare when you accrue points and want to use it at a later date.This particular location is understaffed with very limited options (massage type) and appointment times, especially for a working mom like me who could only come in on the weekends. When I tried to cancel because I realized the points kept stacking up and I wasnt able to use them fast enough, they wanted me to use them all in 60 days or forfeit the remaining. It was very stressful trying to use up all the points accrued in a year within 60 days when I could barely find the time to use them in a whole year.On top of that, after scheduling an appointment for my husband and I and planning for childcare, they canceled his confirmed appointment on the day of, because the masseuse was no longer with the establishment. Since it was supposed to be a couples massage, I tried to reschedule mine but they wanted to charge me for same day cancelation. I regret purchasing the membership or even using their services at all and in the future, I would utilize a spa that contributes/ supports a relaxing experience in their service, policies, and considerations.
I wont not recommend this location massage envy has let me down I have been a customer with them for a long time and I sent someone there for a birthday gift they did not experience it and the massager which I think his name I dont want to fit his name out but he was a white male and definitely was not pleasant. Did not leave a tip and wouldnt recommend again this location shoot somewhere else maybe like a private own location maybe better and more personal
Such a bummer because I really wanted to like this place. Bottom line, the young lady who did my facial talked the whole entire time. Sharing all her issues about her family. After I left, I was not refreshed at all. Unfortunately, I will not go back to this location. Thankfully this visit was paid with a gift card.
The worst experience EVER.My fiancé bought me an hour massage for Massage Envy as a way for me to relax as we have had a rough week traveling and losing a loved one recently. When I tell you I did NOT relax and the massage was awful it felt like she was just pressing on pressure points and thats it! Ive never experienced a worse massage in my life. I could have stayed home and had my fiancé do the exact same things she was (probably better). We will never ever pay for a massage from here ever again and seeing the other reviews..should have known. The therapist was nice and all but people come to get a massage to RELAX and she just kept talking and going on and on about her life and it honestly made me feel way more stressed when I left vs when I came in. I called to speak to a manager to get a refund but there is not one there until tomorrow. Lets see if I get a call because that was not worth even $10.
I had purchased a gift certificate for my mother in law for her birthday at the Monroe location. It was for 1hr $70 sweedish massage. Because there wasnt any available appts that worked for her I called and reserved a time at this Matthews location. It was so EMBARRASSING to find out they had her pay $5 from her money for the massage (besides gratuity she paid for). When I called to ask what that was about, the rep. stated though its a franchise, the Monroe location had a deal going on that this Matthews one didnt and they did NOT want to honor this difference. I feel as if they took advantage of this senior woman who spoke limited English (from European). I recommend you find out where these certificates will be accepted before you find out they had to pay extra out of their pockets.
Got a massage recently there. The environment was very calm and welcoming. The receptionist was kind and friendly. The ambience was very nice with pleasant odours. Now for the massage I felt like it was not what I was thinking and did not felt as if I even got one. I was not satisfied with the massage I got.
This place is a joke. Don’t waste your time. Find a private/family owned spa to go to. This place is very pushy when it comes to wanting you to sign up for a membership but regrets to inform you when you want to cancel it what all had to be done. The company it’s self will have you chasing your tail trying to even cancel your membership. You can hardly ever get someone on the phone, then when you do they are very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Alice was a very good example of this. They will make you feel like it’s your fault for not canceling when they charge you the $75 fee but yet that’s all I’ve been trying to do for 3 whole months and they will not give a refund. THIS PLACE/COMPANY IS RIDICULOUS.
Watch the new Lisa. She tells you one thing, then when you repeat it, she says something else. She did this 3 times to me. I hope its just her learning curb, and she gets better.

Had a tight schedule but I found time to get to this location. Website says open at 8am. Drive here and the hours on the door also says 8am but it’s closed. Wanted to pick up a Christmas gift but the inconvenience is really annoying. Please put the correct hours on your website and front door for your customers.
I went to massage envy for three years in matthews and loved it. I have appointments every other week for three years. I was a loyal customer. My appointment times Are already scheduled through January 2023. MyMassage Therapist left and I got another which was good. Last Thursday I had an appt at 5:30 and got a call that they wereClosing at 4 and to cancel my 5:20 appt and to reschedule my appointments. Somehow I was the last to be called and now there is nothing available until 12.22. I wasThere two weeks ago and no one said nothing. They said they have known about this for a month. I complained and they said you can just keepPaying until something opens. They are rude and unprofessional. I went there r wry other week for three years and now I am the last person to call???? Why? I called the ow we three times and sent in a complaint via email and it says they will respond in 48 hours. It’s been four day now. Lousy business. Lousy owner. Lousy service.
After reading the reviews, I was not planning to sign up for a membership but only use my gift card. However, my Hot Stone massage was better than expected and Amanda did a fantastic job. At the beginning she was behind and late by a few minutes. But I did get my full massage and my back and legs feel fantastic given my medical issues that cause me to be in pain frequently. Anyhow, I did sign up for the membership. And come to my surprise the front desk lady was so helpful and told me I can file it through my insurance and get the entire membership reimbursed which I did.
Please do not do business with this chain. Find a local small business. Very unsatisfied with availability. Paid for a monthly plan, but unless you have a recurring appointment, almost impossible to get in. Always booked out over a month in advance. When I tried canceling the subscription, was given the runaround and was told well, you know it is hard to cancel subscriptions sometimes, like Netflix. Huge waste of money.
I am fed up with this place. The therapists are not very professional, one of them didnt even ask how the pressure was and that made the experience very painful. Ever since then it has been nothing but Im sorry for your experience but thats all I can do for you. How about cancelling our membership? I still havent heard back and its been over a month. Dont even get me started on their ridiculous cancellation fees. $23 per person? Insane. They lack empathy and professionalism. I cant wait until our plan ends in march.

Ive been trying to cancel my membership for more than two months. When Ive called to cancel, Ive been told a manager would call to cancel, they never left any messages for me to return their call if it happened. Finally today when I called, I was asked for the first time if I had signed the cancellation papers, really. So after two months, Im told to sign cancellation papers. So a clerk can create a membership and take all your ids and card info but cant cancel it, rip off. So tomorrow Im to sign the two cancellation papers, will see what the next excuse will be.I am one that tips, but Ive never felt as pressured to tip and tip over % I want to. So far I rate them shady as can be. Once you want to cancel the niceness goes away, even if its a medical reason. Im sad
I wish I could rate this place a negative 5000. The customer service is AWFUL! I was a member for years and left because of poor management. I recently returned and boy was that a mistake. They overcharged me for services received and refused to refund the overpayment or apply to upcoming service. I scheduled an appointment, arrived and was told I didnt have an appointment. Showed proof and was told by manager Alondra Im not sure how that happened. Never offered any concessions. She is inept in resolving issues that her staff creates for clients. No accountabilty nor service recovery skills. I contacted the owner Tom to discuss...No Response! The bright spot is that Amanda the therapist is great. They should change the name to Massage Mess!!! Avoid this location.
I have been a loyal member with massage envy for over 4 years. I am currently waiting for a returned phone call after a week of waiting because I was charged for 2 months of massages without my consent. I was told by an employee that I was being placed on a freeze plus program. After speaking with the manager Danielle she informs me I am not even eligible for this program and does not know why her employee would tell me about it when I wasnt even eligible. Okay? Easy fix right. Refund my money and place me on a freeze program I am eligible for. Does customer loyalty mean nothing? I am so upset and disappointed because I thought very highly of this company and now I feel that I dont mean anything to them as a customer. Im hoping they will return my call and fix their mistake and restore my hope in their company but for now I am very very disappointed and do not recommend becoming a member there.
(on behalf of my wife) Never, ever, ever go here! After signing up for a contract, they dont explain about cancel restrictions. I had one left to use and they didnt have the courtesy to let you know you have one massage left and that it will expire soon. So when I called to make an appointment for the last message they told me it expired already and cant use it. They got my money already and cant make good on it. Not how you earn repeat business! Poor business practice! I will admit the massage was very good, but beware getting suckered into a contract.
Do not give this business your credit card if you never intend to cancel your membership. I have 4 massages un-used that are not available to me because I refuse to sign up for another year.The massage therapists are ever changing-- lots of employee turn-over. This tells me that Massage Envy is not a good place to work. The massages that I received were very average and the providers were always late for appointments. They stack up appointments so you will always start 10 minutes late and the massage ends 5 to 10 minutes early.I try to deal with honest, reputable businesses and this business is not in that category. Stay away!I rarely write reviews but if I can save one person from this place, it will be worth the time I took to do so.
I was a member for the last 6 months and I have LOVED Massage Envy! Ive not had one bad experience to even complain about. Everyone is professional and courteous. My only complaint is that I dont ever seem to find the time to go more often! Thank you for taking care of your members!
Very professional and friendly. I was given a online gift card in Feb. Covid broke out in March, still going strong. I am not big on massages but wanted to use the GC. The sales associate was so helpful and offered creative ways for me to use it. Great service...
All 3 times I’ve booked here they call the day of, an hour before scheduled time to cancel with the same exact excuse being the therapist had “a family emergency”. 1st time- completely understand, 2nd time- kind of weird, 3rd-they just feed bs and don’t want to work. All different therapist I might add.

I was interested in a membership and called to book an initial appointment or talk to someone about options and prices. I called around 2PM and reached a voicemail system, after being instructed to wait on the line until a representative answered. I receive the we are busy with another guest, please leave a message for us to call you back message. I understand this is just how the phone system works, so I leave a quick message with my number and say that I am looking to book asap so please give me a call back. Never received any call back. Seems from other reviews that getting in touch with this place is pretty difficult. How do you have customers if you cannot even be contacted? Disappointing.
It was a very good experience. Only complaint is while waiting in the waiting room the scented candles or oils was a little too strong for me. If they tone it down that would be great. Everything thing else was great.
I am super happy with Massage Envy in Matthews / Mint Hill! A friend recommended Rebecca and she is fabulous! She is always professional, friendly, inquires about areas to target and amount of pressure, and always answers my questions and gives me recommendations to implement during the month to help until next time. And the front desk staff are courteous when greeting me with such pleasant smiles warm remarks. You cannot go wrong with either Rebecca or this Massage Envy!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Paige gets to be my 1st review ever! I was always wondering who this awesome girl was coming in here, and then I went in M.E. with my best friend and there Paige was! Watching her work while waiting, and listening to her interactions, I was blown away. She is the kind of manager and customer relations person I strive to be. People forget how hard leadership can be and I just love the way this young lady handles things! 5 stars for M.E. !

When making appt I was not ask what type is message I was seeking, but when arrived that us when the therapist asked, only thing is she deep tissue is not her forte, so had to settle for a regular message.
Both my wife and brother-n-law have bragged on this place out East. On my wifes last visit she said I needed to poach the manager to come out here and teach our people what excellence-in-action looks like. Im staying out here on the west coast, but I guess Ill have to break down and try this massage thing! Maybe Ill hit this place up when were in town next!
Ive had good experiences here. I only get facials and have seen one esthetician for the past 3-4 time. She is very informative about my skin and makes recommendation that are relevant.
AMANDA is AMAZING!!! Her massages are paradise. No matter how stressed out I am, I always leave there feeling AWESOME!!! The staff is very professional, sweet & helpful too.
Would not recommend this location for a facial. Walked out with pieces of mask still on my face. They arent able to use extractors as part of their policy. Not a good neck massage. Not worth the prices they charge at all.
It is always a pleasure to attend massage envy sessions. The staff there is very friendly caring and the atmosphere is phenomenal. I would advise anyone that would love to have a massage I highly recommend Massage Envy.

I have never had an issue with this business. I am a prior client/member and have nothing but great things to say about the staff. Taylor is the best therapist if you are having a muscle issue.

Ooookay massage. I get massages at least 2-3 times a month. First time to this location for a neck massage due to headaches. Masseuse felt rushed. Was constantly watching the clock.
All their booking sure says is no openings even when it found a person, time and date. If you dont want my money then I dont want your services.
