Eric is my hair dresser he is wonderful. He can do haircolor, perfect highlights and any hair style you want. Everybody at this salon is very kind and friendly.

I called and they scheduled an appointment with such ease and politeness. When I arrived I was greeted in such a friendly manner and immediately met Geneva who would do my facial. Her professionalism and attention to detail were perfection. I left feeling great.

Faith cancelled on me last minute two hours before my appointment. I think it’s very unprofessional as I’ve had this appointment planned and even had to get babysitters for my children and came into town just to use this location with a gift card I was given. Disappointed but the salon itself is a nice establishment and Faith was sick just wish I received more notice.

Would put 0 stars if possible. I just called hoping to make an appointment and the front desk lady was very rude. I’ve read other reviews where she has been mentioned poorly as well. If you’re miserable with your life just say that. I will now be taking the extra time to drive to a different location when I live within walking distance of this one. So sad for all the hairstylists and estheticians there that are and will be losing business thanks to this woman! If you can’t be nice and friendly for the life of you, you should probably find a job that’s not in customer service, or that requires speaking to human beings in general. Do better!

Ellen was AMAZING, and I would HIGHLY recommend Goulds. She cut, colored, and styled my hair so beautifully. It was everything I wanted and way more!1!1!

I love going to this Goulds! Ive been seeing Amy for waxing for over 2 years, and Taylor to get my hair cut and colored for a year now. The receptionist (Dorothy) is fabulous, and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Id give more than 5 stars if I could! I was nervous at first because theyre a local chain, but this shop is smaller and amazing. Definitely recommend!

As a curly girl, Im pretty specific about how I handle my hair. Away from home and desperate for a haircut, I was willing to try somewhere new and Goulds was right around the corner from where Im working in town for the week. I walked in out of the blue, and the friendly person behind the counter asked what I was looking for. I explained the situation and that I follow the Curly Girl Method so I was looking for someone with experience cutting curly hair. They took me back for a consultation with Taylor, and she said shed suggest we do a dry cut - Yes! This is what I prefer but I wanted to make sure whoever was going to cut me said it, and knew how to do it without me bringing it up. She was able to take me right then, and since I had already washed & styled today, she did just the cut. I needed some fresh layers and better shape all around.She checked in to see how I was liking it, and adjusted according to my feedback. She even offered to do more tomorrow if I felt it needed anything else after sleeping on it.And for that, they only charged me $25 since it was just a simple cut! It felt like a steal, and I could not be happier.I dont go out of my way to write reviews often, but Taylor and the friendly people at Goulds deserve the acknowledgement. Im seriously considering saving up all my professional haircuts for whenever I come to Memphis!

As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a friendly hello. Super chill atmosphere. And Micah did a wonderful job on my cut and color! He took his time and was super professional. All the other stylist were super friendly as well! Very pleasant experience all the way around. Will be back again.

Emily is a miracle worker. I literally walked in and said “help me” after about a decade of cutting and dying my own hair. She turned my Courtney Love-esque bleach job into the prettiest color and cut. I may have been converted into a regular salon-goer.

I was scheduled for a signature facial with Alex on Saturday morning. I said Good morning when walking into the salon and approaching the check in counter. Nora looked at me and didn’t say good morning, but said “ Do you have an appointment “? I looked at her, pulled my face mask down and said Good morning again. She rudely asked “How can I help you and do you have an appointment”? I told her yes and provided my name and telephone number, but was insulted by her blatant rude behavior. I understand that everyone isn’t a morning person, but Nora’s poor customer service is unacceptable! She is the first impression of the salon and made me feel unwelcome, so I will take my business somewhere else!

Dylan has always gone above and beyond to ensure I get the results I am looking for. She did a phenomenal job on my hair yesterday, making me feel and look like a million bucks! Your entire staff there was there were all so kind and professional as well.

Went in as a walk in the lady refused to do hair because she says they closed early today at 5pm and it takes 3 to 4 hours to dye dark brown hair to pink or red Omg ! R u serious.. she was literally shaking like she’s never talk to a black girl before .. I dont understand and don’t know how to feel about this. Everywhere is short staff but to say it takes that long to dye hair is aLIE ..

I went in here to have gel nails done the day before going on a two week long vacation. I was meeting people for the first time and the impression they got from my nails was embarrassing. The lady didnt adjust the gel timer to 1 minute, she kept it at 45 min and it was a cheap looking gel dryer. I should have just left and went somewhere else when she didnt start over, but I didnt want to be rude. My manicure peeled off after 3 days and I was not doing anything strenuous. This is the first time to have gel nails do this. Normally gel nails last weeks. Thats the whole reason to pay extra to get them. I had to spend my entire vacation looking like that. They only have one manicurist and this was over year ago so I would ask if they still have the same manicurist before going.

My first time going to a salon since moving to Memphis. I chose to go to this location because of the great reviews and Im glad I did! My hair came out perfectly, she styled it great and I left with my hair looking and feeling more healthy than I arrived. I will definitely be going back for a retouch when needed.

From the first phone call to make my first appointment, Ive had A-plus service.I always leave feeling rejuvenated and feeling my absolute best. What an amazing group of talented beauty experts. You cant go wrong!I must add that I absolutely love the decor! Its one of my favorite parts of the experience. They also decorate during the holidays.

Dyllan did a beautiful job reversing the coloring mistake made at another salon and looking forward to seeing her again for the next step to complete the lightening process. Shes very sweet and professional. Im planning on sending my teenage son to her for his future haircuts and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a great hair colorist.

I love this location. Dylan is my favorite! She is super talented and keeps my balayage looking glossy and fresh. Her cuts are always great. I’ve been going to see her for years and my hair always looks amazing!

I really liked the whole experience I had here yesterday. Very friendly people. Raven did my mini pedi and she was instantly my new friend and I love that my styliest was honest and upfront with me about not being comfortable enough to do the cut i wanted. So i went with my 2nd pick and it turned out better than I pictured it going to. I will definitely be back!! I even had the guy that worked the front desk helping me with product and giving me a gift. These people are my new friends and im sure this will become one of my favorite places in Memphis!! I had my hair and makeup done here before getting married at Graceland. This was arrange by my wedding co ordinator fromGraceland as I was traveling from the uk. They did a wonderful job. I had no trial so I was slightly worried about the quality and how it would turn out. I need not have worried. The girls where fantastic and I was so pleased with everything

The staff are always super friendly and great at helping you choose a hairstyle and color that fits you. I usually have an idea of what Id like and Savannah makes it come true in a wonderful way that fits me and looks amazing every time.

Wonderful reception and very accommodating to my last minute requests (within reason!). Amy is an amazing esthetician and I have been her loyal customer for over a year now. The salon is very clean and edgy. I have recommended many friends and they all enjoy going to the Overton Goulds as well!

Dyllan Miller keeps me coming back to Gould’s. I love my experience with her. Seriously, the before and after pictures show she’s a magic miracle worker. Plus she’s so fun and easy to talk to.

Easy to make appointments and great location. I especially recommend Savannah for hair, she’s awesome and listens, but is also great at making recommendations if you’re just like “just make my hair look better.”

I went to Overton with a coupon that gave it to all mom’s from Saint Jude. It was a terrible experience. The salon was just with a manicure and the stylish just look me by the mirror and said the price. The recepcionist said there are not available stylish. I was sad because they has 4.7 average. I did not give up and went to downtown. It was the most lovely experience posible. See comments on Gould’s Downtown.

I always have a great experience here. Dylan is great at understanding how different hair grows. I have curly hair with lots of cowlicks and she does a fantastic job every time.

Worried about finding a new place for haircuts after over a decade of the same place before moving to Memphis. Amanda did a truly excellent job in almost no time. Absolutely and unconditionally recommend!

Ok. I made two appointments online. I wanted a soak off and a pedicure. I admit that I picked polish change instead of soak off b/c I couldnt find soak off on the list. I had two appointments scheduled: one at 4:45 and one at 5:45. So, I walk in for my appointments and explain to the girl checking me in that I actually needed a soak off instead of polish change and her first response was, Well, we make those appointments for a certain timeframe online for a reason. Ok, I realize I am in Midtown and their vibe is to look annoyed when you walk in, but COME ON. Ive worked in customer service for years. You just dont start by telling the customer she messed up. Mistake #1. But, it was a Sunday, so I took a deep breath and apologized and went to talk to the one actually doing the services thinking, Well, shes the expert and this must be the way she makes her living, so Im sure shell do whats needed to make it work, get paid, and still get out by closing time. Nope. She tells me that an hour and 15 min. is not enough time to do both. Mistake #2. All she had to do was say something like, You know what, its going to be pushing it, but how about we do a mini or basic pedi and soak your nails off while we do your toes?, which is exactly what I suggested to her while she stared at me like I was a 3 headed alien. Yall. Come on. Do you want to make SOME money or NO money today? Apparently, none. At this point I knew that there was no point trying to reason with these people and left and drove around the block and got both services I needed for cheaper, which I could have done all along, but you know, it was Sunday, so I was hoping to treat myself to a quieter personalized spa experience. Even worse, the whole reason I started going to this location was for my eyebrows. My eyebrows have never looked better, so, obviously, I have to go back there, and now it is going to be awkward. And please dont think I am one of these spoiled non-working women. Nope. I do not feel entitled and would never choose to be rude, especially in a place that I know I have to come back to because Im seriously OBSESSED with these eyebrows. So, in closing, COMPLETE CUSTOMER SERVICE FAIL. And now, when its time for my eyebrow treatment, I HAVE to go back in there and be the girl that I know they are talking about before I walk in. Help me Goulds! Help ME help YOU!

Love this location and the people, especially Nicole. Its nestled on Madison Ave in Overton Square just steps from Babalu and Golden India (schedule your appointment around lunch - youre welcome). Back to Goulds... professional, friendly, accommodating about sums up my experience, consistently.

I just cant say enough good about this Goulds. Every time I go in there I am treated so nicely and my haircuts are exactly the way I want...maybe even a little better! I cant wait to use their other services.

Fabulous only because my man Larry Delancey rescued my hair from the trainwreck that the first Goulds stylist put my hair through (she shall remain nameless). Nice salon. I followed Larry as I will always do... To the ends of this Earth!

I came here on Sunday at 3 and it was closed. They advertise being open from 1 to 6 on Sundays both on their website and on google maps, so I literally wasted time and money coming here because they weren’t open when they should’ve been.
