My experience was amazing! My husband bought me the Ultimate Spa Day Package for Mother’s Day. We recently had a pregnancy loss and the ladies really helped make what was going to be a hard day be not so bad. I walked out smiling. Thank you so much to Khadidra, Angela, Raven, and the receptionist ( I don’t remember her name)! You ladies were wonderful!
My review mostly reflects the lack of customer service I received from the front desk staff not my massage. Although, I did enjoy my massage and was very relaxed afterwards the treatment I received from the attendant at the front desk upon leaving completely tarnished my experience. Hopefully some additional training will take place in the very near future on how to resolve unique situations in a manner that will not make your customers feel alienated.
I went on Saturday, March 2 to get a cut and balayage and had a great experience! I saw Ally for the first time and she was incredibly professional and did a very thorough job on the color of my hair. I will definitely request her again!
I recently visited this salon for a haircut and balayage, and I couldnt be happier with the results. Ally did an amazing job transforming my hair, and I absolutely love my new look. She paid attention to every detail and ensured that I left feeling confident and satisfied. I highly recommend Ally for anyone looking for professional and exceptional service.
Maxine was HORRIBLE! I went for a simple flat iron and I have burns around my face (edges) and in the top of my head. Poplar Plaza is where I normally go and Bianca does my hair flawlessly well and I pay $40 and I tip her well! Today was supposedly with a more seasoned stylist so I paid $65.00 which was $65.00 too much! This lady will NEVER touch my hair again. She should be banned from touching anyone with a flat iron! The students at the academy on 64 highway does 10 times better than this so called seasoned stylist. What a colossal joke!
After my stylist moved, I began a search to replace her. While Kelsie is in a league of her own, Star at Gould’s comes super close. She does excellent blow outs and is very genuine. The staff at this location are also very friendly and skilled.
I frequent Goulds often and usually visit the Houston Levee location, everyone there is AMAZING!!!!, but the handful of times Ive been to the Ridgeway location service has been extremely below standard. I came in to get a gift card for the value of a couples massage or the Spa Escape and Gentlemans Afternoon packages. I arrived at 530pm and the door was locked, not sure if this is standard, but if so okay. I told the young lady at the front that I wanted to purchase a gift card and proceeded to ask basic questions concerning the packages and lengths of time theyd be. None of the questions I asked were actually answered nor was she helpful with trying to find the answers to my questions, but whats MOST CONCERNING to me, as a loyal customer, was that she more concerned with paying attention to her cell than getting the answers to my questions. For this to be in the same location as the Goulds Academy, where young women and men are being trained on hair care and customer service, the experiences Ive had here make me question whats being taught and the quality of employees be hired or graduated.
Absolutely horrible experience with a haircut. I have grown my hair for 20+ years for Locks of Love. My hairdresser retired so I decided to donate to Wigs for Kids, using Gould’s. I called corporate to get the details, went online with Wigs for Kids to get my code and called corporate back with the code to schedule my haircut to donate and then my hair to be styled. I scheduled THREE weeks in advance with the stylist I wanted. Gould’s has a hard policy- if you cancel without notice or no show for a massage, you are charged anyway. If you are late, you have abbreviated services for full price. On the day my haircut was scheduled, Gould’s called with 40 minutes notice to cancel and reschedule for the next day with a different stylist. They said the person I had scheduled with did not do Wigs for Kids cuts.I was upset but scheduled for the next day. The girl sectioned my hair into 4 ponytails and picked up her scissors. I immediately stopped her and said the hair has to be bundled with ponytail holders every 2-4 inches. She told me that was not Wigs for Kids requirement. Wrong, because it is on their website to bundle the hair. I told her I had not grown my hair for four years so that it would become unbundled and get thrown away because they do not except loose hair. So I bundled my own hair in the ponytails while she just stood there. I had brought a ruler and ponytail holders. She told me she didn’t need a ruler to measure for 12 inches, she could just use her comb. Then she cut my four ponytails. One of the ponytails was 17 inches long, one was 16 inches long, and two were 15 inches long. I know because I measured them with my ruler, so apparently her 6 inch comb was not a very good way to measure my hair. I was so upset so I called corporate. The corporate office listened to everything. I explain to them about my experience. They basically said that they were sorry that had happened and they would send out an email to all the salon managers to make sure stylists were aware of the rules for wigs for kids. I intended to donate my hair, four ponytails of 12 inches. I did not intend to have my hair cut the way the stylist cut it. I was very upset, and the lady I spoke with said she would talk to the rest of the people at corporate. Three days later I got a message on my cell phone saying we’re sorry you had a bad experience.I even talked to the salon manager at the Gould’s I have been using for massages for 15 years. I have yet to hear back from her and it has been three weeks. I would never use them again under any circumstance.
This location has some excellent facial anesthetist and massage therapist. They do a fantastic job. The ambience is perfect and the service is second to none.
Greeted by young woman who didn’t know what I was getting and complained because I arrived 15 minutes early. She was not friendly or inviting. Fortunately, this rough start was followed by excellent service by the masseuse, facial and mani/pedi specialists. As a result I had a wonderful day spa experience. Deducted a point for the unfriendly receptionist.
My 90 minute relaxation massage was absolutely fantastic! I was tense and stressed across upper back, shoulders and neck. Angela worked her magic and I even napped a little. Now thats relaxation!!! I really enjoy this salon and spa for my hair and massage. Been a patron for over 10 years. Referred friends and family. The front desk is not the best, but the stylist and therapist are awesome!
I have always been completely pleased and loved the treatment I get at this spa. Very professional, yet they show their clients that they really care about their well being. Carla Fernandez is the best massage person - lady or man, hands down anywhere Ive ever gone. She knows what to do and how to do it in the very best way to benefit her clients. I recommend her highly. Go to Goulds if you want to be pampered in the best way possible.
My hair was done by Maxine great job always great service
Every time I go to Goulds Salon Spa at Park Place I am treated like a queen. I love everything about this particular site from the very professional and friendly front desk personnel to my favorite hair stylist, wonderful shampoo and wax lady, the nail techs, facial and massage therapists they are all wonderful! I especially love my hair stylist. When I come in for my appointment I feel like I am just visiting my close friend. Jennifer Johnson is the best. Wonderful hair stylist and a wonderful woman as well! I have also brought my elderly mother here and Hailey was wonderful with her. My mother is nearly deaf without her hearing aids and Hailey was very sweet and patient with her. I have also brought my mother in for a pedicure. My mom is diabetic and the nail tech took extra time checking her feet for sores or cuts that my mother would not have noticed. I wish I remembered the nail techs name. Sadly I dont. I appreciate those little extra thoughtful things they all do to make my experience a notch above anywhere else. Thank you!
Love the peaceful environment at Goulds. I have been a customer for years.
My husband paid for a prenatal massage witch was amazing but, I experienced the worst customer service by the front desk at this particular location. My husband paid 80 dollars for a service (70+15% gratuity) and upon exiting Gould’s I was told that I still owed 30 dollars for a service that my husband already paid for! The salon manager insinuated that I could have used the money elsewhere but the purchase was for a service!!! You can’t use half of a service and No massage service is 30 dollars at Gould’s!!!! I feel like they weren’t accommodating or apologetic at all. They made me feel like it was my fault and I was possibly being dishonest. I’ve never felt so disrespected and humiliated. I will Never go to this location again for anything! I’ll just go back to Collierville where people are more accommodating!
My daughter and I have a spa regimen for monthly massages. The services are excellent. If you want the best deep tissue massage ask for Tarsha or Alex. You wont regret it!!
Massage and facial were great! The person that was the most outstanding, though, was the spa manager. She gave such individual attention and made maneuvering the process so easy. Excellent customer service! She is what took this from a good experience to fabulous!
I had the most amazing massage by Myshante (not sure how to spell her name). One of the best massages Ive ever had!! I like this location. Very pleasant service from start to finish. I came another time with my sisters and had lunch there. That was also a very nice experience.
Had an appointment schedule for 11AM today. Last night around 11:30 at work my nose started running and l wasn’t feeling well. This morning l woke up the same way. I called them around eight o’clock and told them that l was not feeling well could l reschedule the young lady told me that she will speak with the manager and call me back. Just received a call back stated that they would still charge me for the service on today that l could not reschedule. Do they expect me to keep and appointment when I’m Not felling well and risk others of getting sick. I will call corporate on Monday morning. This is SAD!!!!🙁☹️😣😖
Had an appointment for 11:00 wasn’t seen for an over an hour later. Waiting room is small with very uncomfortable metal chairs! People were nice at first but after you pay they don’t check on you or worry bout you. Staff stands around and gossips loudly while you wait. No entertainment in waiting room! Booked an appointment with my mother and was not asked if I wanted to go back with her. We planned to have facials together. Don’t recommend WILL NOT return!!!
I scheduled a one hour massage for my brother for Christmas. He just started a new job in NYC and has been very stressed so I thought this would be a nice thing to do while he is in town. I got a confirmation email for the one hour massage I scheduled and got him a gift certificate to pay for it in full. He arrives there on time and they tell him it’s only a 30 minute massage. I call later to ask what happened and the girl says the card only had 55 which is not the case because my bank statement said I was charged 109. She tells me the boss will call later. The boss, Lacey, calls the next day and is confused because the employee told her a different story than what I had told her. In the end Lacey said she would call me back and never did. Dont use Goulds spa, it is a total rip off.
I went there hoping for a relaxing facial and massage. The bad service started when I had to listen to the front desk people gossiping about someones sex life for the 15 minutes I waited for my delayed appointment. Because the woman doing the facial was LATE, the facial was rushed. She used her nails on my face (bad form and damaging!) The massage was scheduled shortly after this, but apparently because the facial ran late, the massage therapist felt she needed to rush the massage as well. I felt like I was being tenderized like a piece of meat as opposed to having a relaxing experience. When the therapist was done, she simply left the room and didnt tell me it was over. A few minutes went by, when I realized that she was not coming back in. I got up, got dressed and walked out. Absolutely horrible service. When I left, both employees where joking around at the desk waiting to punch out. I would never go back. Luckily I was just visiting but sadly I was visiting a friend who goes here a lot.
This was my first time ever visiting a spa and it was a TERRIBLE experience. I treated myself as a birthday present and it was less than pleasant! my face has completely broken out from the facial I received here! my first manicurist Valencia or Valerie, whatever was extremely rude and apparently does not know how to use more than 1 color nail polish! I guess she felt my anger because she switched with Javon who neglected to give me a proper pedicure! I do not recommend THIS location at all. Very poor service and doesnt give a damn about u, just your money...typical.
Great job on every service I and my boyfriend had done . We both got a deep tissue massage for 90 mins . He was with Kiera and I was with Matt , both were very respectful and made both of us very comfortable and worked out alot of knots and left us feeling all around better ... Then I got my hair cut and dyed by Julie and I absolutely love it everyone was very kind and courteous and genuinely cared about our satisfaction
Jaelynn has been amazing to work with!! She answered all of my questions and really spent her time with me. Super polite as well! We need more people like this! Thank you, Jaelynn.
Facial from Ms. Khadidara. She is excellent in what she do, very knowledgeable and professional as well. I will be back. Thank you for a relaxing wonderful experience on my birthday.
It was my moms 59th Birthday and I scheduled the mini spa day for us. The massage was incredible. On the other hand, the facial was terrible. The esthetician was friendly before starting the facial, however she did not say another word to me during the facial, in regards to product she was using what she saw on my skin. It was not personable at all, to top that she put a very oily substance on my face & lips at the end. I left with a greasy face! Terrible..To make matters even worse, when I met my mother back in the dressing room area, she was upset stating that her facial was done with the esthetician wearing rubber gloves, it was very uncomfortable and rough on her skin, and when she asked her why she was wearing them she stated OSHA Laws, my mom told her it was uncomfortable and asked her to remove them, she refused to remove the gloves. She told her OSHA could fine them if they come in and they arent wearing the gloves. Keep in mind, my esthetician did not use gloves at all, so if this is a law why arent all of their estheticians using gloves? We both get facials often and never in 20 years has anyone ever wore a rubber glove to administer a facial. We spoke to the SPA manager afterwards, who did absolutely nothing, barely apologized. First of all, it took her over 10 minutes to come out to speak with us. She stated at Goulds they all should wear gloves for facials. I informed her that my esthetician did not wear gloves and I asked did she not think once my mother asked her to remove the gloves that she should have honored her request? I never got an answer to those questions. My mom told her she was not satisfied and did not feel she should pay for such poor service, the manager stated she needed to talk with Corporate upstairs to determine if they could waive the facial. Five minutes later the receptionist came over to tell us they would take off $10. The manager did not come back out to tell us or apologize for the terrible experience.Beware African American women! Two issues with this location, estheticians are not knowledgeable of all skin types, mines dumped an oily, thick substance on my skin, and obviously some prefer to wear gloves. In reading other reviews, there have been concerns about products they use on all skin types.Do not go here if you dont want to risk getting a rough facial with an esthetician wearing a rubber glove. We also asked the manger if this OSHA Law was a Goulds law, and if this was in their paperwork that we filled out. We never got an answer. I would not recommend Goulds to anyone. GO TO SERENITY DAY SPA! Had they not been booked, we wouldnt have ever went to Goulds! Poor service. They lost two customers for life. They have poor customer service and do not care about customer satisfaction
I showed them a balayage and that’s what it stated I wanted on the online appointment schedule. I had chunky highlights to my roots and cheetah spots in my hair. I was horrified when I got home and looked in the mirror. I filled out the survey after getting this done a week ago and no one from the salon reached out to me to come to a resolution. I had to pay another stylists somewhere else to fix it.
Myshonta was my massage therapist and she was amazing! Best massage I’ve ever experienced. She was incredible and so professional. I would recommend her to anyone!
So much for a birthday relaxation gift. Atmosphere was poor...the waiting room for a massage was right by the door where customers come and go. Totally un-relaxing. Ciera was my therapist. No ammenities, robes, showers, areas to unwind. The massage was just so so. She spent just as much time literally scratching my scalp as she did rubbing my arms and legs. Will not be returning.
I had an hour long deep tissue from Angela, it was amazing. She was super sweet and a true professional. Very knowledgeable, and very good at what she does. Recommend her 100%. Thanks Angela!!!
Great spa services and trained technicians. However. They tend to be a bit over-priced for a salon experience you can get elsewhere for cheaper, and sometimes better, at the hundreds of other wonderful salons in Memphis. #overrated
They canceled my appointment when I drove 50 minutes to the appointment. They could not complete the service nor could they offer any service in its place. Call to others locations. Olive branch had a 30 minutes but that location is 40 min away. No solution just sorry.
MY MASSAGE THERAPIST MATT WAS WONDERFUL! THE THING THAT MADE ME A LITTLE WARM, WAS I COULDNT USE MY GIFT CARD! I HAD TO PAY OUT MY POCKET. BECAUSE THEY SAY THE MY MOTHERS DAY GIFT CARD HADNT REGISTERED YET🙄🙄🙄IT TAKES 48 HOURS. I NEEDED ANOTHER MASSAGE THEY PUT STRESS BACK ON ME. THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT SESSION OUT MY POCKET 🤔🤔😖😖🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
This place really let me down. Needed a haircut for an important event the next day and took an Uber to get here and they wouldn’t take a walk in even though they weren’t busy. Will never return.
Grew up coming to this salon Liz has done my hair for over 20 years she is wonderful and amazing with hair!! I most definitely recommend her!
I have gone to goulds for a number of years and love them. ashley is amazing and works out all my knots. ive been to other spas in many areas and find that goulds is just as good as any top spa if not better!
Jami was very professional and knowledgeable about which facial was best for my skincare needs and also the massage was very very good...look forward to visiting again and awesome job Jami
My massage from Kiera was great. She was very personable & professional. I highly recommend her.
I enjoyed my time relaxing at Goulds. I can not wait to return for future services! The deep tissue massage was amazing!!!!
Jamie does an great job. She is experienced and friendly no matter what service your having done.
Matt melted my stress away. Wish I had found him before I was moving.
For the first time in YEARS, I finally have a haircut I like, thanks to Star! I will definitely be back to see her again.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. Nancy made racist comments about “ethnic hair” and I vowed to NEVER return. It’s terrible the company allows such awful people to work here.
Goulds is always ready to give great customer service. The staffs professionalism is always a welcoming experience.
I enjoy going to Tonya Gibson for my manicure and pedicure. She always provide an amazing and relaxing experience.
Had a figi pedi and while the techs were nice and polite, the service was not worth the price. Come on Memphis, step it up.
Full service salon, I can come and get a facial, massage and a Pure Fiji Pedi all in one day. I love coming here
My hair look like a mess and Julia made it look brand new! Im very happy with results and price!!
