Volume 1 Bar & Lounge

Jon Taffer would have a field day here... I don’t like giving bad reviews, but I was not feeling this place. The lighting at the bar is so bright and not welcoming, and frankly neither is the staff. There are dark areas too, so it was just a weird vibe all around. There are thin curtains hung as room dividers and the decor feels like an afterthought. The layout is pretty funky as well, without a natural flow.The DJ was playing great music straight from the 2000’s, but there were commercials playing in the dance floor???Like another reviewer said, if you compare it to the previous place Varsity, it definitely falls short.

Went to the comedy show last night(sat may27th). Service at the bar was painfully slow. The staff struggled to make any kind of drink other than a beer. When I closed out my tab I found that they were charging me for doubles just because they were using a Collins glass!I literally sat there and watched her pour the liquor into a Jigger to measure it. Ive been to some dive bars that put this place to shame. Will not be back!

Don’t waste your time here. If you liked varsity before… you will be sorely disappointed with this place. The vibe is unwelcoming. The door man was pushy and disrespectful. All the lights seem to be on in the place, it’s so bright in here. Came on a Saturday night and it was so slow. 10/10 do not recommend.

New bartenders are fantastic! Service was warm and friendly. I had a blast. AfroBeats is where its at! I just found my new joint!

Was DD last night. Was w son & wife. Sons bday. Volume 1 was effervescent with energy. Employees were on the ball. For me to give a five-star review, better believe theyre doing it right. Place rocks.

New owner, nice atmosphere. Friendly service, decent wine list. Live music the nite we were there. Will be back!
