Salsa Mia

This was my second time attending the Salsa Mia class at Mango’s Nightclub. Had an awesome date night experience! Big Carlos is a great dancer and even better instructor. Very personable and funny and takes his time to make sure you understand the routines. Also, the food and drinks were made fresh and were super tasty! I recommend!!

This was the perfect date night. My girlfriend and I had a great time! The teacher, Carlos, was very knowledgeable, welcoming, and funny. He made the class very enjoyable and a comfortable environment to learn in. We learned a lot of dance techniques that we didn’t know beforehand. Although it’s a bit pricey, I think it’s worth it for a fun, enjoyable night on Ocean Drive!

Wonderful experience. Our instructor Shayla was personable, friendly and kept the class intrigued. We learned the salsa & bachata and the mimosa that came with the class was yummy. We ordered dinner which was good. I would recommend as a fun activity when in Miami. Rooms turn into a club after 10. Music was good R&B, reggae, hip hop.

My husband and I booked the sip and salsa session on a Tuesday night. There were 2 other couples and one single person also present for the lesson. We all had a great time! We ordered drinks and some snacks and then our lessons began! Alex is very professional and patient. We learned some basic steps and really had a fun night. After the lesson we went downstairs to the nightclub and had drinks with the new friends we made in salsa class!

I went to the Sip, Savor, & Salsa class. I loved it!! The instructor is upbeat and has a sense of humor. I love that he paid attention to everyone. When I went here, I was only 20. The facility’s policy is that anyone under 21 has to leave after 10 PM. The dance instructor kindly walked me out and wished me a safe walk back to my hotel. It was a lovely experience & I would definitely do it again.

I tried salsa for the first time and it was super fun. The instructors, Alex, Taylor and Carlos were amazing. Food was decent too. We don’t drink alcohol so they had virgin mojitos for us. Food had vegetarian options as well

A unique experience. The dance teachers were very good. The whole thing happen in a private event room (2nd floor of the Mango cafe). As promised, there were mohitos and some amuse-bouches and if people under 21 they can have virgin mohitos. Thanks for the interesting night 😊.

Made reservations for a Sunday night, but we had a conflict and were nice enough to schedule us for. Monday. Instructor was very encouraging, and had a good grasp of handling all different ability levels. After the 2 hour lesson we were escorted downstairs to the club proper, although there was not much dancing going on. We went back upstairs and found a table overlooking the main bar and stage. Food (10% off) and drinks (50 % off) were average, but service was good. Live Latin band was incredible, with great shows with everything from dancers to Michael Jackson and Beyonce impersonators. Price included a second night free, although we didnt take advantage of this.

The salsa and Bachata dancing lessons were super fun! Lots of people learning how to dance. The instructors were fabulous! They were knowledgeable and patient and very friendly!! The salsa lessons came with a mojito and appetizer but you definitely want to order food before dancing. There are a few complaints I have about the service when we arrived. They route you to the Mojito room with a group of people and they have 2 dance instructors and one service waitress. They need more help as we waited for the waitress to come around to get our food order and drinks and we finally gave up and went to the bar to order drinks and water. She later came for our food order. I saw another couple ask for water as they were never asked for drink order. As a business owner this would be upsetting because youre losing revenue because people arent ordering their drinks. The lessons and admission to club was worth every penny. The mojitos need work. The flavor was off as they did not taste like mojitos. I would recommend this event and just order a different drink!!

I took these dance lessons last Saturday while I was visiting Miami with my boyfriend and we absolutely LOVED it! Alex and Taylor were full of energy and absolutely wonderful instructors. They were very welcoming and made the class fun! There were probably around 20ish people in the class (mix of couples celebrating different occasions and groups of people). The food and mojitos were delicious too. Then after, we were able to explore the high club and it was a lot of fun continuing to dance around. For anyone that wants a taste of night life in Miami, I totally recommend trying this!

Alex and Taylor were amazing instructors! Really made the atmosphere fun and light, especially considering these are not easy dances to learn! I think I got the basics down though. I had a great time and will be following up with more classes when I get back to North Carolina. The food was great, and the mojito hit the spot! Thank you guys for a wonderful time!

My husband and I had an amazing time! My husband said he did not expect it to be that much fun. The instructor and owners nephew Carlos are super fun and sweet. The instructor took the time to briefly go around checking on everyone’s moves in a very sweet manner, it was the best! Drinks and food were great too.

It was an amazing experience for my husband and myself! For the last 2 years he talked about us taking a dancing class, and this one wowed us!! The instructor was awesome!! Taylor was extremely talented, knowledgeable, kind a very patient with us all lol!

The instructors were fun and knowledgeable. The mojito room is secluded from the rest of the club and has the space to move while learning. Drinks were a bit expensive but definitely get the job done. Overall we had a great time. 10/10 recommend this especially for couples that want to learn how to dance.

I went there with my daughter for the bachata / salsa dance lesson. We both spent a really great night. And I really have to say that thanks to our great dance instructor Taylor, we both learnt very quickly the basic steps and in the end we even were able to dance by ourselves. We really had a lot of fun.In the break they served mojitos and various very delicious snacks (very tasty empanadas and a lot of other great stuff). All in all we enjoyed ourserlves a lot. Thank you Taylor for such an entertaining night.

Very worth it! My wife and I had a lot of fun!The atmosphere, the drinks, the food provided were all great. However, the instruction on the dancing was the best part! Taylor and Alex made it fun, easy to understand, and enjoyable!

Went with my wife and we had an awesome experience! The lesson was fun and you can learn the basics to have fun dancing right after. Moreover, in the middle of the 2 hours theres a mojito and snacks break! Alex and Tyler were simply the best teachers, we are so grateful. We wanted to come back on friday for another round but we have to depart earlier...

We had SO much fun at Salsa Mia! Alex was a wonderful host and instructor! His dance skill and sense of humor loosened everyone up and made us feel comfortable trying out the new dance steps. We definitely feel prepared to go to a club and do some dancing. It was great to have VIP access to the club after our lessons. Overall, the entire experience was beyond our expectations!

I cant remember our instructors name but he was amazing. He was fun, friendly, and was a great host. We had a great experience. We enjoyed snacks, and mojitos. There was one vegetarian option snack but its two bites. Make sure you eat dinner which they also offer. They have had live entertainment after the class that was cool to see. They also have a DJ in the other two rooms upstairs.

We purchased a Sip and Salsa lesson from Groupon for our vacation in South Beach. The lessons are held in a separate room upstairs from Mangos club, with its own bar and staff. This was my first time getting a lesson and Im not very coordinated or outgoing so I was pretty worried, but everyone was nice.Drinks were great, the free mojito comes during the intermission, but you can order from the bar before lessons. The margarita I had was fantastic! They also had food available for purchase and appetizers were provided during intermission.The instructor was good and since my dance partner was experiencing some mobility issues, she danced with me a bit. Definitely bring a partner who can move with you, as there may not be others to pair you with, and solo moves were not offered.We ended up leaving early because of mobility issues, but you get access to the club afterwards, which is nice if youre looking to extend your night out. Our only complaints were that the front door girl at Mangos was very rude when we arrived, though that is not related to Salsa Mia, and I do wish there had been an introduction and explanation of the schedule and how the evening, drinks, and food would look when we first sat down. It was a bit confusing and we werent the only table unsure.Also, there is a photographer who came to each table to take pictures for a fee, but he didnt take time to make sure everyone was looking at the camera and in a good pose, so we ended up paying $20 for pictures that arent really worth showing off.Overall, we would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back! I hate that I’m blanking on the names of our instructors because they were great. The energy and passion they showed in their lessons really helped learn the steps. As a seasoned dancer, I decided to go as my partner needs help with Salsa (and the mojitos). This gave her a great foundation to improve her skills (and keep up). I just wish there was more time to dance! The nightclub wasn’t playing so much bachata or salsa, but it was still fun! 😊😊

We had such a great time with Alex and Taylor’s salsa lessons!! We even went back the night after for more! We salsa’ed, drank amazing lychee martinis, and had tasty apps. Truly a one of a kind experience like no other. Alex and Taylor made us feel so welcome and are so kind in giving us all the right tips on our footwork, movement, and form. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Miami!

Instructors were patient and easy to understand. My first time ever taking dance class and dancing. I loved it! Will be definitely going back to dance some more soon!

So much fun!!! If you plan on going out to nightclubs in Miami, I would definitely recommend coming here first! Basic dance lessons for bachata and salsa and comes with mojitos and appetizers. Our teacher was very easy to follow and we had a blast! The only thing I was bummed about was after the lessons were over we were invited downstairs to the nightclub but when we went down there was no live band playing for us to dance, but there was plenty of live entertainment!

My husband and I had a great time! The drinks were great as well as the appetizers (prob would have been better with the accompanying sauce for each one, but there werent any available utensils to actually get to the sauce without being inconsiderate of other patrons & simply dipping your food in them, which we didnt want to do out of respect for others) and the instructor was very personable & lively (Jenny, I believe is her name).We had the pleasure of being with a very diverse crowd of patrons (typical of Miami and one of the many things we love about this city), which made the experience and ambience even more fun. The only reason Im giving 4/5 stars is because although we enjoyed the group we were with, quite honestly there were too many people in the room we were in. People were allowed to come in fairly late, which was a little disruptive and as a result of the growing crowd my husband and I found ourselves bumping into the wall quite a bit while we were dancing because of limited space. The large crowd also made partner-switching and moving forward to the front row a little cumbersome as well. That was my only qualm. Besides that, we enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend to others.

Highly recommend Salsa Mia to any and everyone! It was so much fun! Alex is a great instructor - within 2 hours you’ll be comfortable dancing both bachata AND salsa. After class is over you have the opportunity to get on the floor and dance or watch the spectacular acts performed by the live band and professional dancers. Definitely worth the money, you’re guaranteed to have a great time!

Last night, I took my first salsa & bachata class along w/ my boyfriend. We had an amazing and pleasant time there with Alex going over the steps little by little and making it easier for us to learn. The most important part is that it was so much fun! Amazing is a total understatement for what we experienced last night. Highly recommend!

We didn’t know what to expect when we signed up for the lessons, and I was a little nervous to start, but Alex is absolutely amazing and made everything so easy and fun. I wouldn’t consider myself a “dancer,” but the way Alex lead the lesson made it impossible not to pick up. His energy is unmatched and you can tell he truly enjoys what he’s doing. I loved the class and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun way to spend a night in Miami.

We (My wife and I) never had so much of fun dancing while learning totally new dancing theme - Salsa and Bachata. Its a must do activity while being at Miami South Beach, facility is right in the middle of most happening Ocean Drive street. The instructor Sheila is the best, friendly and extremely patient with all the first timers. The music, lights, drinks, food and all makes it a total immersive experience.

My first time attending Salsa Mia was yesterday and I took the salsa and bachata lessons where I had an amazing time!! Best part is Im a dancer and even with a bunch of beginners in the room, the teacher Alex made it worth my while!!! I learned so much and felt like a goddess while doing it! I definitely recommend for singles, couples, and groups as all where in attendance and having a ball! Im looking forward to next time!! Thanks again!

The salsa classes are in and upstairs room in Mangos night-club. The class is awesome! Very friendly and energetic teacher who was very good at explaining and showing basic moves. We tried salsa night at Ball&Chain the night before - it was a neat place to watch some good dancers, but not a worthwhile class. I would highly recommend Salsa Mia instead.

Sorry, definitively not worth the price. More than average Mojitos. Maybe my expectations were too high. Salsas instructors should make danced the girls at least once. Dont think there are recurrent visitors. Once is enough. But I can be wrong.

Bachatta and salsa lesson was great. Lessons start at 8pm. You get drinks 1 drink and family style appetizer at 915pm Fried cheese sticks and flat fried crunchy thing. Not my favorite. You can order your own drinks and food separately. Watch for already included service charges

My fiancée and I took a class with Alex at Salsa Mia during our engagement trip to Miami. One of us had some experience and the other was brand new. We were both a bit nervous because we didn’t know what to expect. Alex was incredibly welcoming and upbeat when we met him. He clearly has a lot of experience teaching students of all levels because he made the class fun and exciting for the both of us. We asked him to teach us both the cha cha and salsa, and I think he did an incredible job with both. He knew we were newly engaged and made sure to make the experience special. It was a highlight of our trip. We would both highly recommend Alex and the experience at Salsa Mia. We would absolutely go back if we lived closer or if we take another trip to Miami. (This review is really, really late, so my apologies, Alex!!)

One night only in Miami on our way back home, we stumbled across this salsa class. So glad we ddI! My cousin had never danced salsa before EVER. Alex is an amazing instructor! Instruction was very clear to understand and connect the thought with the step. By the end of class everyone was dancing salsa and bachata. It was wonderful! Includes a brief break in the middle to enjoy a delicious mojito too! Don’t hesitate, just sign up.

We had a great time with Alex at Salsa Mia. He made everyone feel welcome and all ability levels felt comfortable. We learned Bachata and Salsa, made friends with other people on holiday, and had a good laugh. The monitors, and everything else going on in Mangos, was really good too. My sister and I were given tickets to Mangos Salsa lessons for Christmas and I have to say it was the best present ever! The routine was super fun to learn, the instructor was energetic and enthusiastic and we got an opportunity to dance with everyone in the class. Would definitely twke this class again!

Fun is an understatement! Alex makes it an incredible experience from the moment you get there until the moment you leave. He’s talented, friendly, experienced and charming. I’ve been there twice and plan on going back for more real soon. I’m completely addicted. It’s an awesome experience to have on a date or a night out w friends. My boyfriend and I took salsa lessons with Alex, another couple from Denmark & one other young lady. The class was small, intimate, easy to understand, and above all the most fun weve had! Alex was very interactive, he made us feel comfortable and that even of you have zero rhythm (like my boyfriend) anyone can dance salsa. I would highly recommend this to everyone. During our last trip to Miami, we took a salsa/bachata lesson with Alex at Mangoes Cafe and it was the highlight of our trip! Alex is a great energetic instructor, who keeps everyone engaged and creates a fun learning athmosphere for all, whether they are beginners or have some dancing experience.

Had a great time! Very well organized and the hosts were great at coordinating so that everyone felt comfortable. They were especially great at instructing and demonstrating the dance moves. Will definitely go back when back in Miami :)

Allison was a phenomenal instructor! I had such a great time and would go again! At first, I thought it would be awkward switching partners, but it was not at all! It was a great way to experience some of the Latin culture! I was just sad it went by so quickly!

What an A M A Z I N G experience !From the Venue, Food, Drinks and most importantly the the Staff. Everyone was just great, Alex really is an entire vibe, he made it feel like a night out on the town not a class. Whats fun about place is the Social during the Salsa and Bachata lesson. And you get to mingle and talk with others. The salsa Instructor will know how to make you feel welcome. As for service its totally great.

The best thing you can do in south beach! We had fun, learned some moves, stepped out of our comfort zone, and fell into the rhythmic beats of Mangos dance floor. All of the drinks were good, but the included mojitos were heavenly. Highly recommend for all ages over 21!

RACIST AND RUDE SERVICE!!!The owner kept commenting on my original post with lies and excuses and flagged my post. There are no bad reviews of them because they harass anyone who leaves one!My partner and I were outcasted for the entire night for a small miscommunication that we apologized for. This did not stop them from treating us horribly, and we felt that they were being racist against my partner who was the racial minority in that setting.Horrible treatment, please do not come here!

Salsa Mia is back!!! I love your new location and its great to have a place again to dance socialize with friends and have a great time. You wouldnt think that it would be so difficult to find a good Salsa school in Miami but after going to Salsa Mia 2 years ago i could never find another school that measured up...

Salsa MIA is AWESOME. The instructed does a great job of helping us all feel at ease, especially if we are new. Great for friends, couples, and whoever. Youll be dancing salsa that night in an open environment with zero judgement. And mangos is crazy.
