We visited this past weekend after our harry potter filled day and it was the the best part of the trip! if you haven’t already, definitely take the potion making class! Our potion master RRRRRRRAMONA✨ was absolutely fantastic! The staff were super nice and the atmosphere was incredible. The science behind the drink making was so cool to watch and to experience making. We made The Foragers Cauldron and The Maleficaria, also ordered an Ectoplasm shot and Bubbling Shot of Death, all were delicious! The decor, staff, and experience were absolutely incredible and we definitely plan on coming back soon. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience ❤️

Been wanting to try the potion making class for the longest time. Finally got the chance to go. Its was Sooooo much fun. Professor David was the best. The drinks were strong. The food was great. Just a magical time. Already bugging people to go again.

I just have to say that this was so much fun! Truly one of the best experiences in New York City! It’s so hands-on. I came here to celebrate for my One Year Anniversary of being Sober and they had mocktail options for the potions class as well. All my friends and I had a blast! Our Potions master was iconic!!!!! Everyone was 10/10 and I can’t recommend this place enough. Don’t be fooled once you go in though! All the magic happens in the back! They’re brilliant and magical that way!

Such a fun experience! We did the Magical Hot Chocolate package, and we had such a lovely time. The hot chocolate was delish, as was the complimentary juice, and we had a blast mixing and matching all our flavors while dressed in our wizard robes. The staff was awesome and made sure we had a great time and offered to take our pictures for us without our even asking. Would definitely go back and do this again.

My sister and I came here for the potion making class and it was so fun! The bar itself is beautiful and decorated perfectly. The staff is so personable and helpful. The drinks are amazing! I suggest the forgers cauldron!

OMG I was waiting to go to this place for so long and today I finally made it. I didn’t have the time to do the Potions Class because my time was limited but I have an AWESOME time with my boyfriend and friend at the bar are. The services EXCELENTE. The bartender was wonderful, funny and friendly. We tried the Phoenix Feather.. SOOO GOOD!! 100/10. My friend and I have a turkey sandwich too so delicious!!! The experience so far one of the best at NYC. It was so much fun!! I can’t wait to come back and do the complete experiences

Super fun experience! Unique for sure. Went for the Valentines Day Special package. Had Faith (aka Poppy aka Potion Master) taking care of us. She was super friendly, helpful, and attentive! Enjoyed all our drinks and the experience in making them. The wand and robe really added to the experience. Would totally go back again to try different cocktails we didn’t do. Such a unique and fun bar!

Visited for a cocktail before heading for dinner. The staff were really friendly and we were impressed with the decor. Plenty of choice on the menu for both cocktail lovers and those who prefer something more straightforward. I really enjoyed my Pixie Slipper

Had a great time with potion master David. He made the experience very fun. Highly recommend it! You get a borrowed wand and cape to feel the whole experience.

Such a fun experience! We truly loved it here and Poppy was such a great host. She was very interactive and really made this event! We will be back to try the other drinks. Must check out if you are a fan of fantasy or just plain old magic!

This place is incredible! The drinks are lovely and the potion making class is top tier 🩷 When I was there I didn’t order any food, so I’m unable to give feedback on that. The bartender was so bubbly and helpful as well as the host who helped prepared your ultimate magical Harry Potter experience.

What a fun experience!! David the Potion Master was a perfect balance of “in character” and winking — and made the actual cocktail making experience fun and easy for us. He’s a natural. And the good news is that there is no trade off between the quality of the cocktails — and the magic of making them. This would be a great activity for a party of any kind… but we just came for the start of a date night. Highly recommend!!!!!

Me and my girls we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day, so we made reservations for the potion experience, it was definitely a fun time, We had poppy hosting it & she was such a pleasure she’s so fun & definitely brings all the vibes, we truly enjoy her hosting us.

Cant say enough nice things about this place! The staff is always so so nice and the atmosphere is so pleasant! Theyre very helpful and accommodating! They were so nice and understanding that we came late because we were coming in from the last location. Cant wait to come back! My favorite thing to do in NYC. This was an overall fun experience that was recommended to me by my daughter who had gone about a year ago. At the end of the day this is a magic (D&D / Harry Potter) themed Tiki Bar with a speakeasy twist. Overall fun place that would appeal to people that are into magic, and magic type theming, I am not one of those but enjoyed the atmosphere, along with making and trying the potions.Two things that would have made this experience better, for me anyway.When you arrive it looks like you are in the wrong place (speakeasy feel) but when you check in they are pretty open about you being in the right place. What would make this a little more fun is if they made it feel more secret that you are in the right place, then gave you a talisman (coaster, folded napkin, any almost no value object) and told you to display it so someone will know to summon you.Something that is totally missing from the Tiki Bar formula was the ability to purchase a mug as a souvenir of your visit. Honestly this was the one part of the experience that disappointed me the most. I really wished I could have had the ability to purchase a Cauldron, or mythical creature themed Tiki Mug. Management should not kid themselves, you are a Tiki Bar, so dig in and source then sell mugs themed to your establishment that maybe even have your name on them. Think about it, I am complaining that there wasnt a high profit cash grab item to buy.

I planned a team outing for my company who is involved in the D&D industry and we absolutely had the best time at the Cauldron! Our Head Potion Master, David, was the most knowledgeable and gifted potion master I’ve ever been under the tutelage of and would highly recommend any future students of cocktail alchemy to enroll in his class! Alongside his charismatic instruction, we found ourselves fully immersed in the fantasy world The Cauldron has beautifully established. The cocktail recipes were fantastic and the activity of potion making created even stronger collaboration bonds within our team. It was a perfect 7 out of 5 stars and is a memory that we will cherish and keep in our witchy hearts! - The Pocket Bard Team

I have been wanting to try out this experience for a while but have not been able to make time for it on the last couple of visits but this was totally worth the wait!! The staff were so friendly and welcoming when we arrived and checked in for our reservation. When we were taken to our potions class we met Nevy and her energy, friendliness and attentiveness through out the experience was just the icing on the cake for an amazing visit. The drinks and shots were delicious and the process of making them was so fun! We will definitely make another visit to this location on our next trip to NYC.

We had a magical time with Potion Master David! Between his maniacal laughter and our whimsical potion ingredients, everything about the Cauldron was fantastic. We will definitely be back soon with more friends!

Potion master David was AMAZING!!! A group of 7 of us went for a bachelorette party in NYC! We had such a blast! The drinks were great! The shots were great! And the experience was incredible! Potion master David helped us through every step of the way! He took the beat Instagram worthy photos and videos! REQUEST DAVID!!! Highly recommending doing the portion mixing glass with a group at the Cauldron! Cheers to David!

We rented out the back room for our daughters 9 year old birthday party as we wanted to do something Harry Potter themed. The kids got to do the potion making experience, while the adults got to enjoy food, drinks and desert. The entire staff was amazing from the moment we arrived until we left. Master David did an excellent job keeping all the kids involved and entertained the entire time. Everyone had an amazing time and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to do something similar. Well definitely be back to try some of their other experiences. Thank you again!

She’s got that perfect mix of knowledge and sass, guiding us through each magical concoction with flair and a wink. I almost felt like I was in a top-notch wizarding school, but with way better cocktails!And let’s not forget the divine Dominick, the manager. Talk about service! This man knows how to run a show. From the moment we walked in, he made sure everything was perfect, adding that extra sprinkle of fabulousness to the night. He’s a solid 10 out of 10 in my book.Plus, a special shout-out to Daury (Papi) for being the best come-back support. I dont know why this place isnt more happening. Our bartenders every night recognized us, and were so welcoming. We ended up there 3 nights in a row just because the service was so great and across from our hotel. The cocktails were so fun to watch being made and to drink!

We went here for my sisters 21st bday, big potter head, and I gotta say... it was a blast! David (mwahahaha) was a fantastic potion master and guided us through everything seamlessly. Well be back with friends for round 2!

Had a great experience for the magic potion making! As soon as you get inside, the place has this kind of a magical cozy underground vibe. The Christmas tree makes it especially wonderful. Our potion masters Calypso and Nevy were super friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a super fun experience. Drinks are yummy and strong so we got drunk and got a chance to meet new people 😁

We came to check out the Hot Chocolate experience at the Flatiron location and loved it.I have done all of the experiences offered at the Cauldron and this one did not disappoint.This was our first time at this location and they did pretty well with replicating the Downtown location.We were especially delighted with our host Levy who was just full of enthusiasm and played 100% into the Wizarding/Magical role! If you are a Harry Potter fan then you’ll love this place.The hot chocolate was absolutely fun and delicious with all the flavor options and fun toppings. We even got a chance to get an introductory drink from the magical creatures using a bit a magic!I’ll definitely be bringing my Wizarding friends here when they are in the area.

I can’t say anything negative about this place had an amazing time here . Jack was very attentive bartender. Dominic was a welcoming person also wildly funny and David potion master gave an amazing experience. Definitely recommend.

I had searched this on YouTube to get an idea of what to expect. From what I saw you were given a wand that was interactive during your experience. Perhaps this was at the original location and not the Flat Iron. The back room where you completed the potion making was decorated but it appeared to me like an arts and crafts room. No wizardry ambiance in my opinion. We were given a crate with the ingredients. Both potions we had to ask for missing items. Overall it was a huge letdown. The website makes the experience seem much different. You can see some of the background in my pictures. The servers were nice and friendly. That was a plus.

DONT GO!We visited The Cauldron NYC yesterday and it was the worst experience ever.Very expensive for a super simple and poorly explained drink. We used the Sightseeing Pass and, even so, its not worth it. poorly organized. The guy who welcomed us gives us some robes, serves a horrible welcome drink and then leaves the ingredients there and you have to read the spell and make it yourself. Theres not even a hint of smoke with dry ice or anything. There are no classes. theres nothing. you mix everything, drink it and its over. zero interactive. horrible.Its not worth the price and they still charged us a separate tip even with the pass ($15).And, to make matters worse, to use the wand to do the spell we have to give our credit card as a guarantee that we wont steal the wand. absurd. When its time to leave, they bring all the cards to hand over the wand and get the card back. you choose one and leave. absurd. If someone takes yours and leaves, what will it look like? zero control. bad, bad.The sightseeing pass does not have any information about day or time restrictions and nothing about tips. You only find out when you book. Then it cant be on such a day or at such a time and even after booking, an email arrives saying that tips will be charged. anyway. worst experience of life.My daughter is in love with Harry Potter and was frustrated. detail: the non-alcoholic drink was just for her and they gave just one for the 3 of us, even though we were entitled to a drink with alcohol. anyway. We dont recommend it.

I was really excited to attend this tea, I love magical witchy stuff and I really enjoy themed experiences. The potions class set up seemed fun. I will say that the decor and atmosphere was skillfully set up, and I don’t have any complaints about that or the cleanliness. However, the tea itself I found lacking due to the near nonexistence of the service and the quality/quantity of food. The waiter, despite being friendly and clearly trying his best, was hard to pin down and staff seemed stretched. We waited an hour for the food to arrive and were told the kitchen ran out of sandwiches, which I find unacceptable because all of this is done by reservation. The food itself was mediocre and not worth the high price. The bartender had an off-puttingly aggressive attitude and made rude comments.

Nevy was an absolute delight. She dressed to impress with holiday cheer and made the experience fun and interactive!She is a great showman and a great host. When she heard our love of dark chocolate, she got us one of the last sets of it.The atmosphere of this place is amazing and a great experience of all who love magic, wonder, gothicness, and a great show!(If you all are ever looking to expand, check out Ashville North Carolina. It has a huge drink, entertainment, and terot/goth/punk community. You all would be an instant hit. The yearly punk convention would be a perfect time to open as you would be booked all two weeks!)Happy holidays and thank you all again for the magical experience!

Avarge cocktails and not justifible forced 20% tip. You will have 2 mediocre cocktails and pay $110 for that. I really wish I was asked for the tip instead of forcing it. Still feels like Ive been robbed.I will start with the good part - for the majority, its probably a good experience! I can see how fun it is if you never tried anything like this. I wanted to try it for a few years! Unfortunately, it came out to be nothing but disappointment.The building & the room they moved in(previously from Stone St) is outdated and looked terrible inside. The waiting bar area is nice, but then youre taken in a very questionable room that was just a bit decorated. The menu was dirty & sticky(we had to apply force to open every page).The service was good enough, but the cocktails themselves were not worth the price. It was fun to cooperate and prepare them together however. We had 1 complimentary cocktail and 2 cocktails that we made, and they were just ok - too strong in alcohol and lacking any taste really. We couldnt help but think that if we stayed home, we would have made cocktails that would be twice as good.The price was high as it was, but I was forced to pay $19 without giving me any other option. I asked to give me a blank check and was given a check with $19 already filled for me. Unbelievable

Potion master David was 5 🌟 amazing!!! We had such a great time definitely worth it. BTW if your a couple. Definitely do the role-playing. Soooooooo much fun 😁..... and now Im a handsomely in love prince.

I booked my sister’s bridal shower here for $1500 for 8 people. According to the manager, they were short staffed and needed to put us on high tops and bar stools next to the bar without a server. The manager helped us when she could but she had a lot going on too. I prepaid for the event and we did not receive at least $500 of what was already paid for. Sent multiple emails over the past few months to the event coordinator and management and was completely ghosted.

It was so much fun going here and making potions, cant wait fir my next trip to New York because I would love to do this again. While I was there I was the first to try a new drink Damians charm which looks like Butterbeer but tasted like fresh herbs and flowers. I can tell it isnt for everyone but I enjoyed the drink thoroughly. Definitely worth the visit.

Please do not do business with this company. Im waiting on a nearly $500 refund due to them permanently closing the Chicago location. They should never have created my event as I paid on June 12th and was contacted that they were closing permanently on June 17th. Initially they contacted me as if they would be getting my refund promptly. Middle of July and all Im getting is crickets. I called the NYC location and they said the money would be back by the end of July. Went to call again at the end of the month and they no longer have a phone number to reach anyone for help only a chat service. Nobody is responding to my requests for a refund. Do yourself a favor and stay far away! Id be happy to remove this post once someone contacts me and rectifies this situation.

Our experience at the potion making class and restaurant last Friday was highly unsatisfactory, to say the least. We were eagerly looking forward to an amazing experience, but our expectations were shattered by a series of disappointments that left us feeling frustrated.To start, the lack of clarity surrounding the dinner menu was like a magic trick gone wrong. Despite my husbands efforts to uncover the truth by calling in advance, he were assured that a normal dinner option existed. Armed with this knowledge, he eagerly made a reservation for dinner alongside the potion class. However, upon our arrival, the venue resembled a ghost town, and the menu could only be described as lackluster, with a generous sprinkle of mediocrity. Lo and behold, there were no dinner options available as promised. Instead, we were presented with a sad excuse for a meal menue. The best option was a sandwich and tacos, that menu would have made a school cafeteria blush.But wait, theres more! The restaurant seemed to have forgotten the existence of forks, knives, and napkins. It was as if they believed we possessed magical abilities to consume our meal without such basic necessities. Our waiter or hostess, who had clearly mastered the art of indifference, ignored our pleas for assistance and instead focused on flirting with an older gentleman who may or may not have been age of her farther. We were left to eat our meal with our hands, feeling like cavemen in a modern-day world. The situation was made worse by the fact that our waitress was loud and boisterous, laughing uncontrollably and disregarding any requests we had, including something as simple as a refill for the glass of water (which we ran out of and never received a refill).As we finally reached the pic of this disastrous dinner, we discovered a surprising twist in the form of a 20% gratuity added to our check. It was as if the restaurant expected us to award them for their lackluster service, the absence of utensils, and the overall disappointment we had endured. It was a comedic punchline that left us questioning if we had stumbled into a nightmare comedy club. And if that wasnt enough, the restaurant/bar conveniently forgot to adjust our bill for the dinner reservation fee we had already paid in advance. It was as if they were trying to pull off the greatest magic trick of all - making our money disappear. This error required the managers involvement to rectify the situation.But the show must go on! We ventured into the potion class, hoping for a magical redemption. Our greeter/waitress for the class seemed like the only saving grace, offering a glimmer of hope. Class was nice and second waitress was knowledgeable. However, when we ordered a meat plate to accompany our drinks we find ourselves once again without forks and napkins. It seemed like the restaurant had a collection of lost cutlery and napkins somewhere, perhaps in a secret vault guarded by a dragon. The potion class itself was a passable experience, but our hopes were dashed once more when we preordered two additional drinks and received only one (we paid for 2 because check arrived before the second drink). The bartender seemed to be practicing the art of mixology in slow motion, taking a staggering 15 minutes to conjure up a second drink. We couldnt help but wonder if there was a secret potion that made time move at a snails pace in this establishment.In the end, our pockets were lighter by over $300, and we were left with a tale of a dinner and potion class gone hilariously wrong. The lack of transparency, the mediocre food, the absence of utensils and napkins, the unprofessional behavior of our server, the tipsy manager, and the billing mishap all combined to create a comedy of errors that left us feeling undervalued and sad. Its a shame when establishments fail to deliver on their promises, but at least we have a story to tell that will keep our friends entertained for years to come. Our advice? Save your money and find a nicer place, it is NY you have a lot of options.

Potion Master David was so magical. We went with our kids for a potions extravaganza- total success for my 11,13,14 yo kids. Really fun family event!

I have been to potion making experience thrice, twice in downtown and once at Flatiron location. The experience at downtown location was a 100 times better. Better food(more options too), amazing ambience and good vibes. You could feel the magic when you visited downtown location, sadly thats not the case anymore. Please do not visit the Flatiron location as its a waste of money. When the team knows their experience is not the same anymore and there is so much scope for improvement, they should really be charging you less money!

Ive been to their original location downtown as well as this new location in Flatiron, and unfortunately the experience was much better downtown. They dont lean into the theme as much in the new location; there used to be more decor, and their events now arent related to the theme. (I love Drag Race watch parties, but it doesnt have anything to do with magic!) The drinks were also stronger previously and this time they were just straight sugar with barely any alcohol, and still expensive. I would still recommend the potion-making experience, since you cant find that anywhere else.

100/10 recommend if not for the experience the people.We arrived 30 minutes late due to subway delay and they were very understanding and sat us down still.David, our potion master was amazing very patient and helpful every step of the way.All the other staff was very nice as well.The atmosphere was great! I loved the aesthetic of everything.I definitely will come back in the future.(Muwhahahaha)

Potion master David makes this experience the most magical one ever!!! 10/10 recommend!!! Went to both locations but having David as our potion master at the Flatiron location honestly made it so much more fun he makes the whole experience feel like you are in a real potion school loved ever second of it!

Absolutely fantastic venue with great food and (strong!) drinks. Jack was our server and was brilliant and hilarious, and his elf ears were absolutely fantastic.

Going in I knew this would be a cheesy and overpriced experience, but my friends wanted to do it so I figured why not. It was worse than I could ever imagine.First off, the drinks were absolutely disgusting. They tasted like college party jungle juice that is a combination of whatever was found in the frat house kitchen. The welcome drink was so sugary, it was not drinkable. The cocktails we made were not any better. One was so terribly sour the server had to bring simple syrup to make it possible for us to even swallow it. We believe they didn’t properly measure the ingredients they gave us to mix. Ultimately there was not a single cocktail that any one of us managed to finish. What a waste of money.If it wasn’t already so pricey, they do a ridiculous recommended 20% tip at the end. You are literally doing all the work and making the cocktails yourself. Why the hell would I tip on that?The ambience of the place just looks like “grandma’s house” where they tried to decorate it with an old antique style. Also the credit card hold for their cheap Party City wand was absolutely ridiculous. Save your money and go spend it on a nice dinner instead.

This place is so amazing. They have no affiliation with Harry Potter but if you like magic and science together then this is the place for you. I had such an amazing time and I was in complete character. I went home completely lit. I went home so happy and relaxed. I learned a lot too. I cannot wait to go back again. I want to stay at the bar when I come back next time.

Fun bar especially if you like fantasy genre. Very friendly service with unique and interesting drinks. Decor is awesome and immersive.

Nice LGBTQ+ vibe BUT we paid $40 excluding tip for 2 cocktails with almost NO alcohol in it. And I never drink so when I do, I’m out with 1 cocktail.Told the waitress who answered “it will kick in don’t worry” well I’m still waiting.

We did the Valentines potion making class and Nevy was thee best!! Super attentive, very funny, and made the experience so memorable! The atmosphere was chill but also felt like you had entered into another realm. HIGHLY recommend!

This was such a fun experience for my friends Birthday! Our potion master Nevy was very attentitive. She helped us kindly with every question and request! The drinks were a lot of fun and easy to make. Id definitely recommend coming here at least once. But Im sure Ill be back!

Me and my gf have done the potion making class twice now, downtown and flatiron, and i have to say that the flatiron spot was very disappointing. The downtown area was pure perfection it was private and simple and everyone had their own booth. It is very unfortunate that it’s permanently closed now. The flatiron location potion making experience was like a high school cafeteria where we were packed like sardines, some of our ingredients would keep getting missing and we had to share a small table with strangers. I used to always recommend the cauldron to my friends but i think that has come to an end. The host was very nice and good at her job.

This whole experience was so much fun! Potion Master David led us through the whole hot chocolate potion making class and it was delightful. From taste testing variations to the final product and all the toppings, all so fun.

To start, I think if you’ve never been to the Stone Street location, you might enjoy this more than we did. But the difference in locations is so stark that we could not put it out of our minds.Firstly, our res was at 7 pm. Didn’t get seated until almost 7:15, which is fine, but then we were led into a bizarre “back room” with a bunch of cloaks on the floor? It looked like someone had attempted to decorate, but stopped halfway.The “interactive” and “magical” components to the drink making here are non existent. The most you’ll do is shake some ice or “make” boba for one of the drinks. The cauldrons you’re given may foam up for a bit, which is cool, but nothing special. You can choose from 4 drinks, but they were 1 out of one of them. So your options were 2 whiskey drinks or one vodka drink. Most of the drinks come with some kind of edible glitter, and the Cauldron seems to think that’s enough to make it worth over $60 a person to make their own drinks. It just is not. The potion-master (waitress) was nice, but hard to get ahold of, and truthfully did not do enough to justify a forced 20% tip (I’m sure you could ask them to remove it from the bill, but then you’re doing that in front of a dozen other people).One of the main draws is the cloak and the hat you’re supposed to be given, and the dragon and unicorn that dispense drinks. Our potion-master forgot to give us the cloaks for the first quarter of the event, and we never got hats, and the unicorn was broken.It was an okay experience. But it was expensive, and it pales in comparison to the old Stone Street one. There, you actually got to use a wand to make your drinks! There were better options. It was more colorful, it was more exciting, and it was much more worth your money.

We went there and it was HORRIBLE! The bathroom door was broken PS : At the Philly location. Also, we saw there was cheap products in our drinks. In my opinion, IT WAS A HOT MESS! HORRIBLE! Never coming here again. We also called them.

Oh my. We have been here twice in the last TWO days. We’ve done both the hot chocolate AND the cocktail experiences, and both were so much fun. Nevy, specifically, was there both times and she was so much fun! So easy to talk to and is so engaging, animated, and vibrant with all of her guests. The drinks for the cocktails were delicious. An absolute favorite destination this trip and would totally come back!

We had the best time! Nevy, our potions master was such a delight she had us laughing all night and was incredibly helpful when we needed it! She was engaged and had so much enthusiasm and it really made the experience so incredible. We will be back!!!

Ive tried all week to request information in regards to having my firms private event at this location. The managers dont return phone calls or emails. Ive sent multiple emails to their accounts that I found on reviews that have gone unanswered. Ive never encountered a business in this climate not jump at the chance to hold a private event where someone wants to rent out the entire venue. Very odd business model.

Such a fun and magical experience! We did the potion making class with David and Nevy. From the very start they made us feel welcome and were both helpful and funny :) The drinks were delicious (especially the unicorn drink!), and my husband and I had a blast mixing our own drinks. Would definitely recommend as a fun night out!

My husband got me the potions class holiday edition for Christmas and it was SO fun! I am a serious Potterhead, so it was right up my diagon-alley (I told you, Im insufferable). Our potions master was Nevi and she was marvelous! Highly recommend!

Tourist trap, do not waste your money.We had a class booked to start at 6pm, staff were not prepared and all over the place it took 45 mins for the class to start. It was very disappointing and not worth the almost $100 we each paid. Drinks were horrible and the set up was absolutely awful.

My roommate and I went for the Grand Opening and had the most spellbinding time! The drinks were great, the staff was wonderful, and the drag performers were absolutely incredible. Big big shout out to Jack behind the bar as well as Petra and Nevy for making our night so magical!

I’ve been here many times, and it’s always my first place to bring friends, and the children in my family! I love how inclusive, and how comfortable the environment is. I love the staff, and will recommend this place to anyone for the best experience.

This place brought back childhood memories for me. The staff is awesome, the drinks are delicious, and the entire process of making your drinks is so cool and innovative. We had Faith as our potions master and she was the best. 10/10 recommend for anyone who wants to experience a unique, fun night in nyc.

For 60 bucks I expect more than a handful of mayo sandwiches and mimosas that certainly didnt feel bottomless.Got a drag show instead of what I expected, a chill time to hang and talk with people.This was not what I expected.It was loud and just annoying with no breakJust a really bad time for me.

We did the Potions class and from start to finish it was such an amazing experience. Nevy, our instructor was incredible, she really added to the “magical” atmosphere and was so helpful!The drinks were great, and the effects really felt like we were making potions! I put 5 starts when I was in the Cauldron down town because my the experience with my friend was amazing, but this one was annoying since the beginning: My reservation for the hot chocolate experience (Valentine’s date); was at 3pm and then they sent me an email a couple days before letting me know that they cannot make it that time “we’re so sorry, bla bla” and offer at 1pm or 2pm. They did not offer any kind of discount or compensation for doing this; not even when I explained them we already have a full schedule day and this change affected us our plans. When I emailed them asking some kind of vindication the guy, Jeff, responded me: “I’ll take to the manager and will be back to you” which never happened. We arrived there today, and the experience was not great, they never told me that we have to share our table (again, it was a date) The mocktails machine (a horse) was not working. The curtains were very light so it was very cold; you can also see through them, the back of ugly buildings outside, so it kills much more the “magic”. The hot chocolate was not even warm, and the worse of everything, before one hour, the waiter kicked us out… The compensation never arrived… I am SO embarrassed with my partner for this such a date dissaster when I pay for something decent and I promised a great experience in an amazing place.

We had a wonderful experience at the Cauldron with the Hot Chocolate experience. Because of our schedule changes, we needed to ask twice to adjust the time of our reservation. The team was incredibly warm and accommodating, making it happen for us even though I know it was inconvenient for them. My kids loved the atmosphere and our host was terrific. A homerun!

If you love magic and Harry Potter, then you’ll love this bar. It’s filled with a mysterious wizardry bar vibes with amazing and strong drinks so make sure you have a DD when you go.

The experience was cool but we had some issues with our servers. They seemed to have trouble coordinating and messed up the ingredients and we spent a lot of time trying to get that fixed. And then they told us they were charging a 20% tip, which felt pretty forced. This was already very pricey and given the ingredients issue I wish we were given a choice. Would have probably tipped nicely anyway it just felt very weird after all of that to not even give us an option...

From the moment we walked in Halloween night we were looked after. Matt at the front got us situated at the bar, Jack the bartender entertained us with his humor and conversation, and Jan (or Jen) not really sure took care of our food and drink order. Everyone was very nice and friendly on a night that is usually a little crazy. Thanks guys for a fun experience. We will definitely come back now that you are in a more convenient location.

We went to an afternoon “Make Your Own Hot Chocolate” on New Year’s Eve. It would have been better to buy some Swiss Miss packets and watered down milk, because that was the consistency of the “magical potion” we paid for…When we entered, no one greeted us, because the staff was too busy chatting and when we finally got to the back, the guy behind the bar was still setting up and talking loudly about getting stuff from the storeroom. SO atmospheric. Not to mention the loud trivia night happening in the bar that was very apparent because the door between the two rooms was left ajar.The elfin hostess was nice and trying her best but was set up for failure with no support staff, not enough ice for drinks, cold cauldrons with (as previously stated) watered down milk, and flavor droppers that were sticky and with the labels missing. We mixed in the powdered chocolate but it didn’t mix well because the “milk” wasn’t hot. We had to ask her what some of the flavors were because it was a mystery. She said she didn’t really know and took a dropper, put a drop in her hand, licked it and said “well, that’s raspberry, so the other must be S’mores!” Wow. Just wow. She tried, I guess.We barely drank any of our “hot chocolate” and really couldn’t wait to leave, so it was kind of nice when they decided to hustle us out after an hour for the next batch of unlucky patrons. But before we left, we were told that we were being charged a 20% gratuity and needed to sign but “you can add more if you want to” wink wink. Seriously? A forced gratuity and then begging for more? Again… just wow.My suggestion is to go to Food Emporium and get some Nestle’s and Reddi Whip and cuddle under a blanket at home watching “Labyrinth.”

Nevy gave us a great tour of the place and I got my drink from a unicorn head in the wall. Love the atmosphere and the drinks were great. Jack was also very funny and hilarious with taking our orders. Will come again for sure.

Bad experience all around. We didn’t even get a full glass of hot chocolate before leaving due to the terrible service. We were sat and there seemed to be confusion amongst the staff. We gave our order to 3 different servers and then preceded to just sit there and wait. Everyone around us were getting served and given instructions. Some even finished their experience even though they sat 20 minutes after us. I spoke to the manager and there seemed to be no effort to rectify our situation (besides offering us shots) and there was no change in service. We decided to leave after being there for over an hour with no hot chocolate and they handed me a check for gratuity which is absolutely ridiculous.

Nevy was incredible! She made our potion making experience one of a kind! My mom, sister, and I were so grateful for her patience and kindness towards us and for making our time at the cauldron so special!

No where on the website does it say it is not a fully functioning restaurant. It advertises as a FULLY open restaurant but it only has 5 menu items none of which are hot foods, only chip and dip and charcuterie. The menu was not available on the website till 48 hours before my reservation when I saw this I immediately requested a refund. The website says you can cancel 24 hours in advance. I tried to cancel more then 24 hours in advance and they are refusing to refund my money. They are blaming the limited menu on the holidays.... 20 blocks away the one in downtown had a full menu so apparently the holiday didnt affect them some how.

Not worth the money.I bought 2 tickets to this experience (since that is the only option they give you or more). They have 2 locations 1 in the financial district and a new one in the Flatiron district. I made the mistake and went to the location on stone street only to check the directions to see that the next location was 22 mins away (not including MTA delays). I emailed them right away and tried calling and didn’t get a response. The next day I called and the worker said someone would get in touch with me. Another day goes by then they decide to email me back only to tell me that they cannot reschedule my ticket. I spent $90+ on this experience and they didn’t allow any ways to accommodate after missing this experience. I understand they have a policy but it’s practically robbery to make people pay extra for a ticket and make it impossible for them to reschedule or get a refund. This can be done at home with a lower expense and less of a heartache.

Bad experience. Our server was nice, but the experience was bad. They gave the cheese board we order to the table next to us for free so we had to point that out. Food was meh. Drinks were not good. They also ask for the deposit upon reservation.

The restaurant has a great ambience. It used to be in the Financial District, now in Midtown. I like the location better. But unfortunately the bar was very empty. Maybe its because theres a strong focus on LGBTQ people. This is a matter of taste and probably puts many people off.The drinks were good, but Ive also had much better espresso martinis. At least the service was good and refills were free. There was also a shot for free. Thank you.

Two hours of potions brewing class. Dont expect a full Harry Potter theme, everything is within copyright. The robe doesnt have a logo etc but its nice, it breathes the atmosphere of this saga on you. Cocktails are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, we chose non-alcoholic. One extremely sweet, no one drank it, the other fine. Its more about the experience.
